Fighting with the advancing forces of the russian federation for the settlement began in November 2022. The Defence Forces began to recapture the settlement in the summer of 2023 during counterattacks around Bakhmut. The liberation of Klishchiivka created a foothold for the Armed Forces of Ukraine to continue their offensive.

Hanna Maliar, Deputy Minister of Defence, informed that over the past week, Ukrainian forces liberated 2 square kilometres of territory towards Bakhmut. During the offensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated 51 square kilometres.

Some households were destroyed.

Luhansk RMA added that the invaders are trying to destroy the coal industry in Luhansk oblast by forced mobilisation. Then they made it clear that no one needs this coal in russia either. They made them unprofitable and decided to close more than 85% of coal mining enterprises in Donbas. Now they began to confiscate vehicles and equipment so that people have nothing left to do at work and move. For instance, buses and trucks are being confiscated by russians, allegedly for the benefit of the occupation forces.
