It has been the 641th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On November 26, there were 46 combat clashes. The enemy launched a total of 33 air strikes, 45 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Russian terrorist attacks have unfortunately resulted in injuries among civilians. Private residential buildings as well as other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged. Moreover, the russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with 5 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs, 4 drones were shot down by Ukrainian air defense.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group are observed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The invaders launched an airstrike near the settlement of Seredyna-Buda. Around 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Semenivka, Klyusy, Yeline, (Chernihiv oblast), Volfyne, Seredyna-Buda, Basivka, Popivka (Sumy oblast), Kozacha Lopan’, Hraniv, and Budarky (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the vicinities of Synkivka (Kharkiv oblast) and Novoselivka (Luhansk oblast), where Ukrainian defenders repelled 6 attacks. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at the settlements of Kamianka, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the enemy made failed assaults in the area of Serebrianka forestry. The invaders launched an airstrike near Spirne (Donetsk oblast). The occupiers fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Torske, Serebryanka, Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the invaders made assaults with air support near Klishchiivka, Andriivka and east of Pivnichne (Donetsk oblast), where Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 attacks. The enemy launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, Toretsk, and Pivnichne (Donetsk oblast). Around 10 settlements, including Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Niu York (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Avdiivka, the invaders made assaults with air support east of Novobakhmutivka, south of Novokalynove, Sjeverne, Stepove, Avdiivka and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast), to no success. Ukrainian defenders repelled 24 attacks in the area. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Sjeverne, Netailove, Avdiivka, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Marinka, the enemy made unsuccessful assaults with air support in the vicinities of Marinka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast), where Ukrainian defenders repelled 4 attacks. Around 10 settlements, including Heorhiivka, Marinka, Novomykhailivka, and Pobieda (Donetsk oblast) were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Shakhtarske, the russian army conducted no offensives. The enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Staromaiors’ke and Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast). Around 10settlements, including Vodiane, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy made no offensive actions. More than 15 settlements, including Huliaipole, Levadne, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, the enemy fired artillery at the city of Kherson. The invaders launched an airstrike in the vicinity of the settlement of Krynky (Kherson oblast).

Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their ground on the left bank of the Dnipro River (Kherson oblast), and continue to inflict fire on the enemy.


During the day of November 26, Ukrainian Air Force launched 3 strikes on buildups of troops, weapons and military equipment of the occupiers.

The Ukrainian rocket troops hit a buildup of manpower, weapons and military equipment of the russian invaders.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled six russian attacks towards Kupiansk. At least 9 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under artillery and mortar attacks

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday the enemy attacked settlements of Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuhuiv and Kupiansk regions with artillery, mortars and other weapons.

As a result of artillery shelling of Kozacha Lopan village, Kharkiv region, 4 private buildings and private cars were damaged.

In Baranivka village, Bohodukhiv region, mortar shelling damaged 2 private buildings and power lines.

Udy of Bohodukhiv region, Alisivka of Kharkiv region, Bochkove, Mala Vovcha of Chuhuiv region, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove of Kupiansk region also suffered enemy shelling.

There were no casualties over the day.

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders repelled 4 attacks near Ivanivka and Kyslivka over the day. The enemy is making no progress.

Mine clearance is ongoing. Pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined more than 4.1 hectares of territory and defused 113 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

Volodymyr Fito, Head of the public relations service of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that  in the eastern part of the frontline, russians launched more than 1,200 artillery strikes and used 44 kamikaze drones yesterday. Ukrainian troops in defence destroyed 70 pieces of enemy equipment.

In russia, the trial of 25-year-old Iryna Navalna from Mariupol, who was illegally detained by the invaders and accused of an alleged attempted terrorist attack during the fake referendum in September 2022, has begun. Her mother, Oleksandra Stoliar, reported this. According to her, the first court hearing lasted 40 minutes: the charges were read out and Iryna pleaded not guilty.

Donetsk State Emergency Service informed about russians’ attack on a rescue unit. Along with the fire station in Toretsk, residential buildings were also shelled. Civilians were injured as a result of the attack.

The enemy launched three airstrikes on Toretsk. As a result a man was injured and hospitalised with shrapnel wounds. According to Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokesman of Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the explosions also damaged residential buildings, a medical facility and a shop.

Towards Avdiivka, russian invaders stormed Ukrainian military positions 23 times yesterday.

Towards Donetsk, in Marinka community, a building was damaged in Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka shelled. Stepove and Novokalynove of Ocheretyne community were under attack. Avdiivka suffered isolated attacks. A person was injured in Kalynove of Novohrodivka community.

Towards Horlivka, 2 people were killed in Vasiukivka of Soledar community. In Chasiv Yar community, 7 private buildings and 2 apartment buildings were damaged.

Towards Lysychansk, 2 buildings in Zvanivka were damaged and 3 streets in Siversk shelled. Torske of Lyman community was shelled 5 times.

Ihor Moroz, Acting Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday russians killed two civilians in Voskresenka and another person was injured in the region. 

Luhansk oblast

Volodymyr Fito, Head of the Public Relations Service of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that russians used 26 kamikaze drones towards Lyman-Kupiansk. They also launched eight air strikes. The invaders attempted to storm UKrainian positions four times in this area. Over the day, there were 758 hostile attacks from various types of weapons. 158 invaders were eliminated, 39 pieces of enemy equipment destroyed or damaged, including two tanks, two armoured combat vehicles and eight artillery systems.

Towards Svatove, Ukrainian border guards destroyed five pieces of enemy equipment, including an armoured personnel carrier, an armoured fighting vehicle, and two ammunition depots using attack drones. A self-propelled artillery, a BRDM, an armoured fighting vehicle, three cars and a truck were damaged, and the enemy’s hideouts also hit.

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, bad weather conditions affect enemy attacks, yet their number not decreasing. russians do not save shells. Once again, settlements of Krasnorichensk community, and Nevske specifically, were shelled. The situation in Bilohorivka is “hot” every day.

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, stated that the enemy conducted an assault in Kupiansk region. The invaders are using air power along the entire contact line. Yesterday they used it in Stelmakhivka and Bilohorivka, suffering significant losses every day. The invaders do not have enough doctors to treat all the injured. That is why they have recently forced students to work in military hospitals. Such internships are conducted in medical schools operating in the occupied territories. It is impossible to refuse, because in this case, young people are threatened with being expelled.

Miners in the so-called “lpr” are already mentally preparing for the end of the region’s coal era at the end of the current year, as russian authorities have decided so. The underground mines that they have not yet preserved or started dismantling for scrap metal are left without funding. Specifically, Sorokyne underground mine has only been paid 15% of its salary. Also russians do not need Luhansk coal any more.

In Luhansk oblast, the regional archive has been collecting memories of locals about the full-scale invasion of the russian army for almost two years. The materials include photos and videos of the consequences of russian invasion of Ukraine, data on volunteer activities, the lives of displaced persons and people’s resistance to the invaders. Viktoriia Kryvytska, Director of the State Archives in Luhansk oblast, reported that over two thousand photographs have been collected so far. The project is called “Luhansk Oblast in the Flames of the Full-Scale War”.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Training of mobile air defense groups continues in Kyiv oblast. As Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the RMA  reports, 50 pickup trucks with the necessary equipment were handed over to the soldiers of the mobile fire groups. Another 20 vehicles will be provided in the near future.

This week, the National Children’s Specialized Hospital Okhmatdyt officially opened the renovated shelter. As reported by the medical institution, about 120 medical workers, sick children and their parents from different departments, patients with rare diseases, mothers with infants go down to the safe shelter, which is located under one of the hospital buildings. Many of them need to continue medical procedures even during air attacks.

The Security Service of Ukraine identified another commander of the russian army who committed war crimes on the territory of Ukraine. The investigation established that Lt. Col. Oleksandr Dosyagaev, the commander of the 2nd battalion of the 104th regiment of the 76th airborne assault division of the russian airborne forces, gave the order to shoot four civilian residents of Bucha during the occupation of Kyiv oblast. The unit subordinated to him took an active part in the so-called “sweeps” and filtering measures aimed at suppressing the resistance movement and intimidating the residents of the oblast.

On November 25, the Ukrainian Women’s Guard held training on tactical medicine for women in the village of Borodianka. The participants learned to provide first aid according to the algorithm of actions in combat conditions, observing the M.A.R.C.H. protocol. After the training session, the participants received certificates.

Bucha Mayor Anatoly Fedoruk said that the Korean Institute of Environmental Industry and Technologies will help build new sewage treatment plants for the community. The memorandum was signed in Seoul on November 23. The third party is the Ministry of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure. The agreements provide for grant financing of the project, the estimated cost of which is more than $10 million.

Zhytomyr oblast

The State Emergency Service of Zhytomyr oblast reported that another train with migrants arrived in Berdychiv on November 25. Five residents of Donetsk oblast came, three of them being people with disabilities. Rescuers, representatives of local authorities, police and volunteers met people near the train.

Zhytomyr urban territorial community was selected to participate in the international project of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) “Cities and communities free from domestic violence”. The project envisages the development of more accessible centres to provide specialized social and psychological services on the territory of the community and improve coordination and interaction between services, to which everyone who experiences various manifestations of domestic violence can turn and ask for protection.

The Department of Culture of Zhytomyr City Council reported that this year in Zhytomyr, festive New Year’s events will be shortened and held only for children and teenagers. Large-scale events will not be held at all. 

Sumy oblast

 Sumy RMA reported that the military of the russian federation carried out 22 attacks on the border territories and settlements of the oblast, there were a total of 108 explosions. Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Khotyn, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Sloboda, Seredina-Buda and Znob-Novhorodske communities came under shelling. The enemy attacked with mortars, artillery, MLRSs and grenade launchers. The night in Sumy oblast passed without shelling.

The National Police of Sumy oblast reports that as a result of russian shelling on November 25, a house and a private solar power plant were damaged.

The Commander of the United Forces, Lieutenant General Serhiy Naiev, praised the servicemen from mobile air defense fire groups near Sumy and performed the task of defending critical infrastructure facilities and protecting the population. According to him, the number and skills of mobile fire groups are constantly being increased in the Northern Operational Zone. Naiev also noted that in the near future mobile fire groups will receive foreign-made portable anti-aircraft missile systems.

Sumy RMA reported that schoolchildren from the border region of Sumy oblast received laptops for studying. The transfer of 1,072 laptops for distance learning of children from a 5-kilometer zone was initiated by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) together with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Chernihiv oblast

The SBGS reported that the russian military shelled the border of Chernihiv oblast 9 times from its territory, there were a total of 73 explosions. Three communities of the oblast came under shelling: Novhorod-Siverskyi community – hit by an FPV drone near the village of Hremyach; Semenivka community – 30 hits from a 120-mm mortar and 2 VOG grenades dropped from an enemy UAV near Leonivka, Tymonovichi and Yanzhulivka; and Snovsk community – 40 mortar strikes in the direction of Klyus and Yelina.

The National Police of Chernihiv oblast reported that as a result of the russian shelling of Semenivka community on November 25, a local resident from Leonivka was injured. The woman came under enemy fire and received shrapnel wounds while she was in the yard of her own house. The police took the victim to the hospital.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported that Chernihiv Medical Center of Modern Oncology was rebuilt with the money collected through UNITED24. The building of the Center was damaged by blast waves and shrapnel when there were battles on the outskirts of the city during the occupation of Chernihiv oblast. Currently, the medical facility receives many patients, including displaced Ukrainians and patients from regions where hostilities are taking place.

Journalists established the identity of the russian officer who in March 2022 held more than 360 residents of Yahidne, Chernihiv oblast in a basement for a month. He turned out to be the commander of the 228th motorized rifle regiment from Yekaterinburg – Semen Solovov with the call sign Klen. The video from the concert of the russian singer Chicherina, which she gave for the occupiers near Kreminna, helped establish his identity. Solovov commented on the video, in which residents of Yahidne unanimously recognized the officer. Information about him was transferred to the SSU.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council announced that at night two enemy Shaheds were shot down over Dnipropetrovsk oblast. The drones were shot down over Novomoskovsk and Synelnykove regions. At night the enemy fired artillery at Marhanets community of Nikopol region.

Vinnytsia oblast

More than 500 hygiene kits were sent to Luhansk residents from the Proliska Humanitarian Mission in Vinnytsia.

Kirovohrad oblast

In Kirovohrad oblast, a soldier was buried together with his mother, as her heart could not stand it. Svitlovodsk community met the Hero, Valerii Vasylenko, who returned home “on a shield”. It is known that the defender was killed on November 22 and on November 24 his mother’s heart stopped, unable to bear the grief for her son.

Zhyva (Alive), an art project for the wives of fallen heroes is implemented in Kropyvnytskyi. The main idea is to discover creative abilities and recover from the experience.

Poltava oblast

Serhii Naiev, Commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced that at night mobile anti-aircraft fire groups destroyed a russian UAV over Poltava oblast.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA, reported that at night Ukrainian defenders destroyed 2 enemy Shaheds in Cherkasy oblast. 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Today, russians struck two units of the State Emergency Service in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. As a result of the attacks, buildings of fire departments and a tanker were damaged.

Yesterday, the russian military launched 113 strikes on 23 cities and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. There were 99 artillery shelling incidents near Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Novodanylivka, Levadne, Poltavka, Luhivske, Preobrazhenka, Stepnohirske, Kamianske, Piatyhatky, Plavni, and other frontline settlements. The enemy conducted 9 UAV attacks on Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Novodarivka, Robotyne, and Mali Shcherbaky, as well as 5 MLRS attacks on Novodarivka and Temyrivka. There were three reports of residential building and infrastructure destruction.

The enemy made 8 unsuccessful attempts to regain lost positions near Robotyne. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operation towards Melitopol, causing losses to occupying forces in personnel and equipment, and exhausting the enemy along the entire frontline.

Dmytro Orlov, Mayor of Enerhodar, reported that the occupiers are holding about a hundred civilians captive in the temporarily occupied Enerhodar. Currently, it is known that approximately 10 torture chambers are operating in the city. According to the official, about 1,5 K people have passed through the torture chambers during the entire period of the city’s occupation.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitaliy Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, reported  that on the morning of November 25, russian troops attacked the waters of Ochakiv community in Mykolaiv oblast. There were no casualties.

Odesa oblast

The Ukrainian Navy said that on November 26, the Black Sea is experiencing stormy weather again, which is why the russian occupiers have brought warships back to their basing points. However, part of the fleet went on combat duty in the Mediterranean Sea. 

According to Odesa City Council, police units have set up Invincibility Centres in case of bad weather, prolonged absence of electricity or heating. The centres have electricity, internet, heat and alternative power supply. 

Kherson oblast

The russian army periodically shelled Kherson from the temporarily occupied left bank. As a result of enemy attacks, several buildings and a car in Korabelnyi and Dniprovskyi districts of the city were damaged. Information about casualties is being clarified.

During the past day, occupiers launched 58 attacks at Kherson oblast. The enemy shelled the settlements in Beryslav and Kherson regions with artillery, mortars, multiple rocket launcher systems, tanks, aviation, and UAVs. russian forces shelled Kherson, Dniprovske, Kizomys, Berehove, Beryslav, Novoraisk, and Mykhailivka. Police recorded damage to 5 residential buildings in the mentioned settlements.

It is reported that russian military forces carried out a drone kamikaze strike on a police service vehicle in Beryslav. The vehicle suffered significant damage, but law enforcement officers were unharmed.

The defense forces in the south continue to carry out their fire tasks. Over the past day, the enemy lost 47 occupiers, 1 tank, 1 BTR-82, 1 Grad MLRS, 4 cannons, and 3 pieces of automotive equipment. Three field supply points and eight observation points were destroyed.

Several settlements in Stanislav, Beryslav, Bilozirka, and Kochubeivka communities remain without electricity due to the weather conditions and russian shelling. Power brigades are working to fix the malfunctions. Yesterday, 35 power brigades performed emergency restoration work on the power lines supplying Vysokopillia, Velyka Oleksandrivka, Kherson, Shyrokа Balka, Stanislav, and Chornobaivka.

A mobile dentistry point continues to operate in Posad-Pokrovske. Over the past week, 66 adults and three children received free dental treatment. The project is implemented by specialists from Kherson City Dental Clinic with the support of the Netherlands government and charitable organizations.

As part of the Repowering project, Kherson City Territorial Community received used and new solar modules and inverters. Over 160 solar panels and 40 new inverters from the German manufacturer SMA have already been delivered to the community.

Kochubeivka community received almost 19 cubic meters of boards and 14 cubic meters of rails. The cargo is promptly distributed among the local population whose homes were damaged due to russian aggression. In addition, twenty tons of bottled water were delivered local residents.

Volyn oblast

50 Foxeer brand quadcopters were sent to the soldiers of the 100th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade thanks to the Foundation for Assistance to Defenders of Ukraine Lesia UA.

Zakarpattia oblast

The annual all-Ukrainian action “16 days against violence”  began in Uzhhorod withstreet event. The key goal of this year’s campaign is to draw the public’s attention to the problem of violence, which has become particularly acute during russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk City Council reported that from January 1, the aid to the military for  will amount to UAH 50K to purchase equipment.

A shelter for 21 IDPs was opened in Nadvirnaia thanks to international partners and the local community. The total cost of reconstruction is almost UAH 6 mln.

Lviv oblast

Thanks to caring Ukrainians, organizations, companies, enterprises and patrons from abroad, it was possible to collect almost UAH 36 mln for the UNBROKEN KIDS rehabilitation center on the basis of the St. Nicholas First Medical Association Children’s Hospital. The latest medical equipment has already been purchased with these funds. The collection of funds was implemented by the Nezlamni CF.

The President of Ukraine presented the 1st degree Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi to the paratrooper from Lviv with the call sign Inhul. He is an officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, commander of the self-propelled artillery division of the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of Galicia. The man has been serving in the 1980s for 9 years.

A presentation of Oksana Dudar’s book Widow’s Diaries took place in Lviv. The husband of the author, Viktor, was killed in the war in March 2022 near Mykolaiv.

A practical seminar for soldiers with serious injuries was held in Lviv oblast. Prospects of veterans’ careers in the agricultural sector were discussed.

Rivne oblast

A crisis center for women who suffered from violence was opened in Rivne. Women who have suffered from domestic violence, gender-based violence or as a result of military operations will have an opportunity to stay there.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA held a meeting with employees of the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support. In particular, mobilization issues were discussed.

Practical training and seminars for instructors on defense of Ukraine began at Ternopil Vocational College with enhanced military and physical training. The training was organized by the Dignitas CF with the assistance of the Department of Education and Science of Ternopil oblast. 100 teachers from Western Ukraine will undergo advanced training. Previously, they had finished to an adapted theoretical course aimed at using safety technologies in the educational process.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

7 Dji Mavic 3 Pro and Dji Mavic 3 Fly Combo quadcopters, as well as thermal clothing and household goods for the Defense Forces, were sent from Khmelnytskyi. 

Chernivtsi oblast

The Échange Lorraine Ukraine association reported that Chernivtsi sent 138 books by Ukrainian authors to the library in the Ukrainian center of the city of Mets.

Residents of Chernivtsi received 4 trucks with humanitarian aid for the institutions of social protection from the International Organization for Migration in Ukraine.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Bruce Edwards, Australia‘s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, announced that the country provided almost 1 billion Australian dollars in aid to Ukraine during the full-scale war.

The Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine states that in 2024, UNICEF will allocate $450 mln for Ukraine to support the country’s frontline oblasts.

Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, states that they will provide €50 mln to restore Ukrainian ports affected by russian attacks.

Within the framework of the Grain from Ukraine initiative, Sweden will allocate over EUR 8 mln for the transportation of Ukrainian grain to the poorest countries.

By the end of the year, Lithuania will allocate EUR 2 mln to the Grain from Ukraine initiative.

Iryna Vereshchuk, Minister of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, met with Ted Chaiban, UNICEF Deputy Executive Director. Priorities of cooperation in 2024 were discussed. One of them is the support of communities near the areas of hostilities. 

Annalena Berbock, German Foreign Minister, says that Ukraine will soon join the EU. This is a geopolitically beneficial step for which Germany will strengthen its support.
