It has been the 809th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On 12 May, there were 146 combat clashes.

In total, the russian army launched 6 missile and 57 air strikes, carried out 41 MLRS attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements. As a result of russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are wounded among the civilian population. High-rise and private buildings, as well as other infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the operational situation has not changed significantly. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.

In the border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts, the enemy maintains its military presence, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, fires at settlements from the territory of the russian federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. More than 20 settlements were hit by enemy artillery and mortar shelling, specifically Uhly, Hremiach (Chernihiv oblast); Kindrativka, Zapsillia, Myropillia of Sumy oblast.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy carried out 10 attacks near Lukiantsi, Hlyboke, Vovchansk, Buhruvatka of Kharkiv oblast. It carried out airstrikes in the areas of Hraniv, Lyptsi, Vesele, Neskuchne, Starytsa, Zarichne, Zeleny Yar, Hontarivka, Tomakhivka, Yurchenkove, and Vovchansk settlements of Kharkiv oblast. About 20 settlements, specifically Lyptsi, Neskuchne, Starytsa, and Vovchansk of Kharkiv oblast, were hit by artillery and mortar shelling.

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 9 attacks in near Petropavlivka, Berestove of Kharkiv oblast; Stelmakhivka, Andriivka, Luhansk oblast, where the enemy tried to improve the tactical position. It carried out an airstrike in the area of the settlement of Ivanivka, Kharkiv oblast. About 10 settlements, including Synkivka, Ivanivka, Berestove of Kharkiv oblast, came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Lyman, the Defense Forces repelled 15 attacks in the areas of Novoyehorivka, Makiivka and Serebrianka forestry of Luhansk oblast; Terny, Donetsk oblast, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defences of our troops. The enemy also launched an airstrike in the area of the settlement of Tverdokhlibove, Luhansk oblast. More than 10 settlements were affected by artillery and mortar shelling, specifically Makiivka, Nevske of the Luhansk oblast; Terny, Yampolivka, Donetsk Oblast.

Towards Siversk, the Defense Forces repelled 10 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast; Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Vyimka, Rozdolivka of Donetsk oblast. It carried out an airstrike in the area of Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast. The settlements of Vyimka, Rozdolivka, and Pereizne of Donetsk oblast were affected by artillery and mortar shelling.

Towards Kramatorsk, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 16 attacks near the settlements of Hryhorivka, Novyi, Andriivka and south of Ivanivske of Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to improve the tactical position. More than 10 settlements were affected by artillery and mortar shelling, including Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka of Donetsk oblast.

Towards Toretsk, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations, however, carried out airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Druzhba and Niu-York of Donetsk oblast.

Towards Pokrovsk, Ukrainian defenders repelled 30 attacks near Novooleksandrivka, Sokil, Novopokrovske, Umanske, Yasnobrodivka, Netailove settlements of Donetsk oblast, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to oust Ukrainian units from the occupied lines. It also carried out airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Oleksandropil, Vozdvyzhenka, Vovche, Novoselivka Persha of Donetsk oblast. Approximately 20 settlements, specifically Yevhenivka, Sokil, Novopokrovske, and Umanske of Donetsk oblast, were hit by artillery and mortar shelling.

Towards Kurakhove, the Defense Forces continue to restrain the enemy in the area of the settlement of Krasnohorivka, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defences of our troops 4 times. About 10 settlements, including Hostre, Maksymilianivka, and Kostiantynivka of Donetsk oblast, were hit by artillery and mortar shelling.

Towards Vremivka, Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 attacks near Vodyane, Urozhaine, Staromaiorske settlements of Donetsk oblast, where the enemy tried to push them out of the occupied lines. Urozhaine and Staromaiorske of Donetsk oblast were hit by artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Huliaipole, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations, but inflicted artillery and mortar attacks on the settlements of Chervone and Zelenyi Hai of Zaporizhzhia oblast.

In the Orikhiv, the enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders 2 times in the area of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia oblast. More than 10 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar shelling, specifically Robotyne, Novodanylivka, and Piatykhatky of Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Towards Prydniprovie, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations during the day.  The enemy launched an airstrike in the area of Lvove, Kherson oblast. About 20 settlements, specifically Mykolaivka, Olhivka, Lvove, and Krynky of Kherson oblast, were hit by artillery and mortar shelling.

During the day, aviation of the Defense Forces and units of missile forces struck 1 artillery, 1 electronic warfare station, 1 UAV control point and 15 buildups of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment.


The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy informs that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, russia has destroyed or damaged at least 1062 cultural monuments of Ukraine. Among them, 123 monuments are of national importance, 864 are of local importance, and 75 newly discovered objects of cultural heritage.

Referring to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, more than UAH 11b were received by 57,000 Ukrainian families to repair and purchase new housing. During the year of operation of the eRecovery program, 54.500 Ukrainians received payments for the reconstruction of damaged housing, and another 2.800 purchased new homes for housing certificates.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff, towards Kharkiv, russians launched 10 attacks near Lukiantsi, Hlyboke, Vovchansk, and Buhruvatka. Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian troops repelled 9 attacks, specifically near Petropavlivka and Berestove.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that the enemy is intensifying attacks on Vovchansk. Our Armed Forces are fighting hard. The northern border of Kharkiv oblast is the most difficult area at the moment. 

Chief Commander Oleksandr Syrskyi informed that fighting continues in Kharkiv oblast in the border areas along the state border with russia. The situation is difficult, but the Defence Forces of Ukraine are doing everything to hold their defensive lines and positions, inflicting damage on the enemy. Hot fighting continues towards Kupiansk, Siversk, Lyman and Pokrovsk, the situation is changing rapidly. In some areas, the enemy has partial success, while in others, the Defence Forces are pushing the enemy back and improving their tactical position.

Nazar Voloshyn, Spokesman of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group, said that russians are focusing their efforts on two areas in the north of Kharkiv oblast, Lyptsi and Vovchansk. According to him, Ukrainian defenders will be supported by additional units from the reserve.

Oleksandr Musiienko, Head of the Centre for Military Legal Studies, stated that russians have until the end of May to create a buffer zone in Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts.

The number of massive artillery and air strikes increased over the day. Vovchansk, Lyptsi and all points on the northern border are under enemy attack almost around the clock. The situation is difficult. Today, two casualties were reported in Lyptsi and Vovchansk, a 46-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man. The number of settlements, where active hostilities are taking place, has increased. The Defence Forces of Ukraine continue their defensive operation.

The press service of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that russian soldiers shot off a finger of a 74-year-old resident of Vovchansk.  According to the press service, it happened around 12:30pm on the outskirts of the city. The injured man received medical assistance.

The press service of Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported three more civilians were injured as a result of russian strikes on 12 May. At around 6am, russia shelled Kozacha Lopan, injuring a 46-year-old woman, a 47-year-old woman from Dvorichna, who was hospitalised with injuries as a result of shelling, and a 74-year-old man in Vovchansk.

Oleksii Slabchenko, Head of Lyptsi Village Military Administration, reported that russian troops dropped 3 aerial bombs on downtown at noon on 12 May. According to him, as of 2:54pm, the administration had no information about those killed or injured in the strike. Residents are being evacuated by emergency services and volunteers. People are getting out of the border villages that are on the contact line by their own transport or on foot.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the RMA, added that the evacuation of the population from the areas where the enemy has intensified hostilities continues. Over the past two days, the RMA, local administrations, the Coordination Humanitarian Centre, volunteers, police and the State Emergency Service have evacuated more than 4,000 residents from settlements where there is a threat to civilian life and health.

Tamaz Hambarashvili, Head of Vovchansk City Military Administration, reported about 30 airstrikes on 11 May. As of 6pm on 12 May, all streets of Vovchansk are under the control of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

There were no attacks on Kharkiv over the day.

Yesterday 27 settlements in Kharkiv oblast suffered artillery and mortar attacks: Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Berestove and others. Vilcha, Lyptsi, Lyman, Izbytske, Vesele, Petrivka, Kozacha Lopan, Synelnykove, Hlyboke, Shyroke, Vovchanski Khutory were hit by airstrikes.

At 8am, a 73-year-old woman was killed as a result of hostile shelling in Vovchansk.

At 2am, the building of a geriatric boarding house was damaged as a result of hostile shelling of Vilcha village, Chuhuiv region.

At 1am, a 38-year-old man was injured as a result of hostile shelling in Vovchansk.

In Hlyboke village, Kharkiv region, a 63-year-old man was killed by artillery shelling.  

A 37-year-old man was injured as a result of the detonation of a munition in Vesele village, Lozova region.

The day before, as a result of massive shelling of Vovchansk from various types of weapons, dozens of private houses were damaged. Four men aged 39 to 64 and an 83-year-old woman were injured. A 51-year-old man was killed. 

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian troops repelled 19 attacks, specifically in the vicinity of Synkivka, Novoiehorivka, Ivanivka. Towards Sloboda, 12 attacks were repelled, specifically in the vicinity of Strilecha, Krasne, Morokhovets, Oliinykove, Lukiantsi, Hatyshche, Pletenivka, Pylna, Vovchansk, Buhruvatka, etc. in Kharkiv oblast.

So far, 1377 local residents have been evacuated from Chuhuiv region, 2097 from Kharkiv region, and 29 from Bohodukhiv region. 570 people have been evacuated by volunteers. A total of 4073 people were evacuated.

Donetsk oblast

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy says in his evening address that towards Pokrovsk, the fiercest battles are taking place. There were thirty clashes with the Russian occupiers.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in the morning report that the Ukrainian military repelled 132 attacks by the russian army on the eastern front. The occupiers stormed the positions of the Defense Forces most actively towards Pokrovsk and Kramatorsk.

Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, informs that the enemy does not stop trying to capture the city of Chasiv Yar, and continues offensive operations to the east of the city. Also, the russian army continues to storm the positions of the Ukrainian military in Klishchiivka.

The russian occupiers struck Lyman. According to Anastasia Medviedieva, Spokeswoman for Donetsk Prosecutor’s Office, an elderly couple was injured and private houses damaged.

The operational situation in the oblast as of the morning of 12 May is as follows:

Towards Pokrovsk, a person was injured in Novoselivka of Pershe Ocheretyne community. In Selydove, 4 houses were damaged. 4 high-rise buildings were damaged in Kurakhove, and 6 private houses in Kurakhivka. 

Towards Kramatorsk, in Lyman community, Terny and Yampolivka were shelled. The outskirts of Kostiantynivka and Illinivka communities are under fire. 

Towards Bakhmut, in Chasiv Yar community, 9 private houses and 2 high-rise buildings were damaged. A house was damaged in Siversk.

During the day, russians shelled the settlements of Donetsk oblast 12 times. 303 people, including 31 children, were evacuated from the front line.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, informs that over the past day, the russians injured 2 residents of Donetsk oblast: in Novoselivka Persha and Mykolaivka.

Luhansk oblast

Towards Bakhmut, fighters of Luhansk border detachment destroyed three motorcycles of the russian army using drones.  

For the second day in a row, russians have been hitting the residential buildings of Nevske, where residents still remain. The enemy used artillery and mortars of various modifications. There were 4 explosions, which resulted in destruction of four private houses. Five more houses were damaged a day earlier. Residents are urged to evacuate.

Kuzemivka and Stelmakhivka were shelled with artillery and mortars.

The invaders directed airstrikes on Tverdokhlibove and Serhiivka.

Enemy attacks were repelled near Stelmakhivka, Makiivka, Nevske, in Serebrianka forestry and Bilohorivka.

People are not returning to Popasna because they have nowhere to live. According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the occupiers completely destroyed the city of 20,000 people during the assault in the spring of 2022.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn informed that the Military Hospital in Irpin received a generator as a donation from philanthropists. According to him, the medical institution is expanding medical and rehabilitation services.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the RMA, reported that Kyiv oblast had handed over a MAN truck to the 114th TDF Brigade. The truck will help perform combat missions and increase enemy losses in the east of the country.

On 14 May, Bucha will host a Donor Day, with medical professionals collecting blood for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to the city council, residents who want to join will be welcomed at Bucha Primary Healthcare Centre.

An exhibition marking the 10th anniversary of the Aidar battalion has opened at the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II. The exhibition recreates 10 years of the unit’s history and tells the story of the people who defend the country in the battalion.

In Podilskyi district of Kyiv, representatives of Kyiv authorities and employees of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine planted young trees in memory of the reconnaissance men who perished while defending Ukraine from russian aggression. In memory of the heroes, saplings of sakura, plane trees and juniper bushes were planted in the Park of Sailors.

Zhytomyr oblast

Recruitment centres were established on the basis of 10 regional ASCs.The centres provide information on the AFU, the National Guard and the State Border Guard Service vacancies. Citizens can receive information and advice on the service conditions in the defence forces and, if they wish, be recruited for the military position and unit of their choice.The centres’ premises are not used for serving summonses.

Former soldier Petro Skrypka has organised a walking marathon across Ukrainian cities to raise money for military FPV drones.The man started from Ivano-Frankivsk, visited Rivne, and on 10 May came to Zviahel in Zhytomyr oblast. During his marathon, the veteran is streaming on social media and collecting donations.

Sumy oblast

At night and in the morning of 12 May, russians attacked the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast 10 times. There were 56 attacks from artillery, mortars, MLRS, and a tank. Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Esman communities were shelled.

Over the past day, the russian military attacked Sumy oblast 21 times. 93 explosions were recorded – attacks from mortars, artillery and FPV drones. The shelling affected 10 communities: Sumy, Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, Shalyhyne, and Seredyna-Buda. 

Sumy RMA reported that a woman born in 1987 died as a result of shelling. On 11 May, the enemy launched a missile attack on the infrastructure of the suburbs of the oblast centre. 

Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of the RMA, informed that the military defending Sumy oblast had received radar equipment. The electronic warfare equipment was purchased for the units of the Security and Defence Forces with the support of active business in the region.

The charity concert “Once upon a time in spring with an orchestra” was organised by the “Aviv folk” vocal theatre and orchestra and Sumy Regional Police Headquarters. The raised money will be transferred to help the AFU.

Chernihiv oblast

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine recorded 24 hostile attacks on the territory of the Chernihiv oblast over the past day. Semenivka community: 9 attacks with mortars and cannon artillery towards Bleshnia and Mykolaivka. Snovsk community: 15 mortar attacks towards Khrinivka and Klyusy.

On 11 May, President of Slovakia Zuzana Chaputova visited Chernihiv oblast. She spoke to residents of the modular town in Chernihiv and brought humanitarian aid for them. She also visited the lyceum in Trisviatska Sloboda of Kyiv community and got acquainted with the progress of repair work in the lyceum’s shelter funded by Slovak funds.

A business consulting centre was opened at the National University ‘Chernihiv Polytechnic’. According to Yulia Zaika, Chairwoman of the board of the League of Business and Professional Women of Ukraine NGO, the project was launched two months ago. It is being implemented with the support of international sponsors as part of the Seed programme. The training will be free of charge. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that the occupiers shelled one of the villages of Chervonohryhorivka community with artillery. During the day, the enemy attacked Nikopol region 6 times. Kamikaze drones and artillery were used to attack the region’s centre, Myrove and Marhanets communities. A house, an outbuilding and a gas pipeline were damaged in Nikopol. 

Kirovohrad oblast.

An exhibition dedicated to the memory of Yevhen Smoliakov, an Oleksandriya resident who was killed at Azovstal in Mariupol on May 8, 2022, was opened in the museum centre of Oleksandriia, Kirovohrad oblast.

Poltava oblast

In Poltava, the Alley of Memory of the fallen defenders of the 116th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is being built. Six ferrous metal steles and stainless steel columns with about a hundred names of fallen soldiers engraved on them were installed.

Cherkasy oblast

A peaceful rally in support of prisoners of war was held in Uman. More than fifty people gathered on the central square of the city.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, 9 settlements of Zaporizhzhia oblast were shelled 542 times. The enemy conducted 4 airstrikes on Orikhiv, Robotyne, and Mala Tokmachka. 275 UAVs attacked Novotroitske, Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, and Novoandriivka. 21 MLRS strikes targeted Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, and Huliaipole. There were 242 artillery strikes on Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, Levadne, Malynivka, and Mali Shcherbaky. 4 reports of residential buildings’ destruction were received. There were no casualties reported.

On 11 May, two fires broke out in the city of Orikhiv and the village of Novotroitske as a result of russian shelling. According to the rescuers, three residential buildings and two outbuildings were on fire. In total, the fire affected an area of ​​150 square meters.

It is reported that occupiers carried out 17 assaults towards Orikhiv. There were 13 assaults near Staromaiorske, 2 near Robotyne, and one each in the areas of Novodanylivka and Verbove.

As of March 2024, the Crimean Human Rights Group (CHRG) verified at least 72 Ukrainian civilians abducted by russia from temporarily occupied parts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. Usually, the abducted civilians are held in pre-trial detention centres established after 2022 in Simferopol. Subsequently, russian law enforcement officials make the abducted civilians defendants in criminal cases or detain them without contact with relatives and without legal assistance. Additionally, according to the Crimean Human Rights Group, not only torture but also beatings occur against civilians at each stage of their transfer from the peninsula to russian territory.

Today, 12 May, a peaceful picket took place in Heroes Square in Zaporizhzhia in support of the captured defenders of Mariupol. Relatives and loved ones of Ukrainian captives participated in it.

Mykolaiv oblast

On 11 May, at 17:21 and 17:57, the enemy shelled the water area and the city of Ochakiv. There were no casualties.

On 12 May, another reminder event about the prisoners of war and missing servicemen took place in Mykolaiv. Relatives and friends of the soldiers attended the event, with approximately 100 people in total.

Odesa oblast

According to the Ukrainian Naval Forces, there are no enemy ships in the Black and Azov Seas. There are 3 enemy ships in the Mediterranean Sea, including 1 missile cruiser carrying up to 8 Kalibr missiles in total. Yesterday, vessels did not transit the Kerch Strait in the interests of the russian federation.

Kherson oblast

Yesterday, Antonivka, Tiahinka, Sadove, Mykhailivka, Stanislav, Tokarivka, Lvove, Inzhenerne, Prydniprovske, and the city of Kherson were under enemy shelling and airstrikes. A private house and a communal infrastructure object were damaged. There was a gas leak, but it was promptly sealed off, and there is no threat of fires or explosions. One person was killed, and five others, including one child, were injured due to the russian aggression.

It is reported that the enemy attempted five unsuccessful assaults on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson oblast. After suffering losses, they retreated to their original positions.

Southern defense forces continue to strike at the enemy’s deployment areas, fire positions, and rear positions. Over the past day, the confirmed enemy losses amounted to 140 occupiers and 54 units of weapons and military equipment. Two field supply buildups, a fuel storage, and an observation post were destroyed.

The police evacuated an injured elderly woman who had sustained leg injuries after a russian shelling in Mykhailivka. It was impossible to transport her from the village to a medical facility due to the extremely volatile security situation. Therefore, the police conducted a rescue operation and evacuated the injured woman in an armored vehicle.

Volunteers from the Global Empowerment Mission Ukraine, in partnership with the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, distributed food kits to residents of Molodetske and Myroliubivka. Additionally, the humanitarian team from Proliska – Kryvyi Rih delivered essential goods from UNHCR Ukraine – the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine to Borozenske. Humanitarian aid was distributed to 46 families.

Farmers from Bilozirka community received 1200 liters of bio-preparations for plants. These biological fertilizers will help improve soil health and grow a good harvest.

A Mother’s Day gift-making workshop was organized for children in Kherson. On the eve of the holiday, the Integrated Comprehensive Support Center Brave&Save held an interactive session titled “Mom’s Flowers.” Participants of the workshop made bouquets from coloured paper, which they later presented to their mothers.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The international conference dedicated to capitalization of the effects of projects Implemented on the Polish-Ukrainian border in the financial perspective of the EU in 2014-2020  was held in Lutsk National Technical University. This event was carried out within the framework of the Cross-Border Cooperation Program Poland-Ukraine 2014-2020.

Lutsk City Council reported that the community sent a DJI Matrice 30T quadcopter to the 1st Self-Propelled Artillery Division of the A0409 military unit.

Zakarpattia oblast

The charity Kraina Uzhhorod Marathon 2024 was held in Uzhgorod. The race gathered about 1,000 athletes from different parts of Ukraine and from abroad. The marathon collected funds for kamikaze drones for the 63rd Separate Mechanised Brigade.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

5 teams from Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernivtsi, Zakarpattia oblasts and the city of Kosova, consisting of 18 physical rehabilitation specialists, had the opportunity to study the experience of the Centres for Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine operating at Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Clinical Hospital. Expanding the network of rehabilitation centres is one of the requirements of the time, because due to the war, more and more people need professional rehabilitation.

Lviv oblast

Stephan Keller, Mayor of Dusseldorf, visited Lviv for the 1st time and met with Mayor Andrii Sadov. They discussed possibilities of cooperation, specifically in the field of rehabilitation.

Viktor Liashko, Minister of Health of Ukraine, paid a working visit to Lviv oblast. Together with Maksym Kozytskyi, Head of Lviv oblast, they inspected a number of key medical institutions of Lviv oblast. Specifically, they visited the prosthetics workshop UNBROKEN, which was opened on the basis of the First Medical Association of Lviv.

A master class on archery was held for servicemen and war veterans thanks to the League of the Invincibles. The next master class for military personnel and veterans will be equestrian sports.

Rivne oblast

A team of veterans of Rivne oblast went to Khmelnytskyi. 13 sportsmen will take part in the 3rd stage of the 2nd All-Ukrainian tour of the Strong of Ukraine competition for veterans. Defenders will compete in 5 disciplines: bench press, rowing on a simulator, airbike, archery and kettlebell jerk.

Ternopil oblast

In Mary Spiritual Center Zarvanytsia, a memorial service was held for the families of the fallen servicemen. Mothers and closest relatives of the Defenders gathered together to honour the memory of their sons, husbands, brothers and fathers who gave their lives for Ukraine.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Competitions in adaptive sports among veterans of Strong Ukraine were held in Khmelnytskyi. During the tournament, participants competed in rowing on a simulator, bench press, aerobikes, and kettlebell jerking, and the world champion in strongman Vasyl Virastiuk became the key judge who closely followed athletes.

Chernivtsi oblast

A Mobile Sustainability Center operates in Bukovyna thanks to the Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, the Rokada Charitable Fund, and the Medics for Human Rights organisation. Every week, the Center’s specialists conduct outreach activities in communities of the oblast. The mobile Center includes a lawyer, a psychologist, social workers, a family medic, a psychosocial worker and specialists from the Department of Social Protection of the Population of Chernivtsi oblast, the Center for the Calculation and Implementation of Social Payments and the Departments of Social Protection of the Population of the RMA.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

John Kirby, White House Adviser, stated that part of the aid from the new US package has already started arriving at the front in Ukraine. The speed of deliveries is due to the fact that some of the weapons were already in Europe at the time Biden signed the draft law. The US will make every effort to ensure that the remainder of the package reaches the Defense Forces in the near future.

Roman Shimonov, General Director of the Roshel company announced that the company plans to localise the production of armoured vehicles in Ukraine.

Vitalii Koval, Head of the State Property Fund, met with Jacyk Dorkminski, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of State Assets of Poland. It was agreed that the Ministry will send its delegation to Ukraine to study the potential possibilities of Great Privatisation in the chemical and titanium industries. The Polish side is also considering the direction of the food industry, namely bread products factories. They also discussed the interest of Polish business partners in new logistics centres of industrial parks based on brownfields.

Members of the German parliament from the governing Greens and Free Democrats as well as the opposition CDU support the fact that the air defence systems of NATO countries shot down drones over the western part of Ukraine. Roderich Kiesewetter, CDU representative, as an example, mentioned Israel, which in April was helped by the USA, France and Britain to repel a massive air attack by Iran and its proxies. According to him, this indicates that states that provided assistance in a similar situation do not automatically become parties to the conflict.

The UN Security Council announced the meeting to discuss increased russian shelling of Ukraine. The secretariat of the Security Council stressed that the members will pay special attention to the escalation of russian shelling of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure in recent weeks.

The international conference “Capitalization of the Effects of Projects Implemented on the Polish-Ukrainian Border in the Financial Perspective of the EU 2014-2020” was held in Lutsk National Technical University. This event was carried out within the framework of the Cross-Border Cooperation Program Poland-Ukraine 2014-2020.
