It has been the 620th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm: 

There were 44 combat engagements. The enemy launched a total of 2 missiles and 34x air strikes, 36 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements.

The russian occupiers launched another strike on Ukraine, using 1 Kh-59 air-launched cruise missile and 1 Kh-31P guided missile. Air defense destroyed 1x Kh-59 missile. The attacks have wounded civilians. An infrastructure facility, private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed or damaged.

The operational situation in east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes and signs of formation of an offensive group. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy  maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. They continue  sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increase the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. Around 15 settlements came under the enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Basivka, Myropillia, Iskryskivschyna, Hrabovske, Sumy oblast, Pletenivka, Nesterne, Stroivka, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy with air support conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the vicinity of Synkivka and northeast of Ivanivka, Kharkiv oblast, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 attacks in the area. The enemy launched an airstrike near Nadiya, Luhansk oblast. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at the settlements of Topoli, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Lyman, the invaders launched air strikes in the vicinity of Serebrianske forestry, Luhansk oblast, and Terny, Spirne, Vesele, Donetsk oblast. The occupiers fired from artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast, Torske, Serebrianka, Spirne, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy made 4 attempts to regain lost ground near Klischiivka and Andriivka, Donetsk oblast. At the same time, the invaders conducted assaults near Bohdanivka, Khromove and Pivdenne, Donetsk oblast, to no success. The Ukrainian defenders repelled another 5 attacks in that area. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Minkivka, Khromove, Klischiivka, New York, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy with air support conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the vicinities of Sjeverne, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Donetsk oblast, where the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 6 attacks. They launched airstrikes in the vicinity of Oleksandropil, Avdiivka, Ocheretyne, Donetsk oblast. The enemy fired from artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Stepove, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Netailove, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Maryinka, the enemy with air support conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the vicinity of Maryinka, Donetsk oblast. The Ukrainian defenders repelled 17 attacks in that area. The invaders launched an air strike near Novomykhailivka, Donetsk oblast. Around 10x settlements of Donetsk oblast, including Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka, were under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy launched an air strike in the vicinity of Staromaiorsk, Donetsk oblast. Around 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Urozhaine, Donetsk oblast, came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the invaders launched assaults northwest of Verbove, Robotyne, north of Nesteryanka Pyatykhatky, Zaporizhzhia oblast. Over 20 settlements, including Poltavka, Chervone, Huliaipilske, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, Kamyanske, Zaporizhzhia oblast, and Marhanets, Dnipropetrovsk oblast, came under the artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, the occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Respublikanets, Lvove, Tiahynka, Kherson oblast. The cities of Kherson and Ochakiv, Mykolaiv oblast, suffered from enemy artillery shelling.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation towards Melitopol and offensive operations towards Bakhmut, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, exhausting the enemy all along the front line. 

The Ukrainian Air Force launched 10 air strikes on the buildup of troops, weapons and military equipment of the occupiers. Moreover, Ukrainian air defense destroyed 4 reconnaissance UAVs.

1711 cultural heritage objects were damaged as a result of the russian invasion of Ukraine. The cultural infrastructure suffered the greatest damage in  Donetsk, Kharkiv, Kherson, Kyiv and Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Luhansk and Zaporizhia oblasts.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 21 sappers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have been killed, 77 people injured.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, towards Kupiansk, russians, with the support of aviation, conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Synkivka, northeast of Petropavlivka and Ivanivka, where the Defence Forces repelled five attacks.

Volodymyr Fito, Head of Public Relations of the Ground Forces Command, confirmed that towards Lyman-Kupiansk, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 25 units of russian equipment, including 5 tanks and 4 armoured combat vehicles. According to him, russians launched 11 Kamikaze drones at Ukrainian positions towards Lyman-Kupiansk and launched one air strike during the day.

5 November marks one month since russian attack on a cafe in Hroza village, which killed 59 people. Local, who lost their loved ones, plan to erect a memorial at the site of the cafe. Entrepreneur Anatolyi Tverdokhliebov, who lost not only his business but also his family, is ready to provide land for the memorial, saying that he will not be able to restore the cafe after what happened. Volunteers from abroad are ready to fund the memorial. To start work, the rubble of the building needs to be cleared. There is equipment but no physically strong people.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that yesterday the frontline and border settlements of Chuhuiv and Kupiansk regions were under enemy shelling. Specifically, russian invaders shelled Vovchansk and Budarky of Chuhuiv region, Kupiansk, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka and other settlements of Kupiansk region with artillery, mortars and other weapons.

In Cherkaski Tyshky village, a 51-year-old civilian man tried to defuse an explosive device in his own yard. He was injured as a result of the explosion and hospitalised in an extremely critical condition.

Mine clearance is ongoing. Yesterday pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined more than 10 hectares of territory and defused 162 explosive ordnance.

Heavy fighting continues towards Kupiansk. Yesterday our defenders repelled about 10 enemy attacks near Synkivka and Ivanivka.

The evacuation of families with children from the communities of Kupiansk region, which are under constant shelling, continues. So far, 157 children have been evacuated with their parents. There are 130 children who remain in the settlements under attack.

Donetsk oblast

According to the General Staff, the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled 4 russian attacks towards Lyman, 10 attacks towards Bakhmut and 20 attacks towards Avdiivka and Marinka yesterday.

Volodymyr Fito, Head of Public Relations of the Ground Forces Command, reported that Ukrainian troops destroyed 20 units of russian military equipment towards Bakhmut and 25 units towards Lyman-Kupiansk yesterday.

Vitalii Barabash, Head of Avdiivka City Military Administration, informed about russian air strike in the morning, there were no casualties reported. A civilian woman born in 1954 was injured in one of the air strikes yesterday.

Veronika Bakhal, Spokeswoman of Donetsk State Emergency Service, stated that one GSC-200 mechanised demining vehicle has been operating in Donetsk oblast since May. Two anti-tank mines and 39 anti-personnel mines were destroyed with its help. There are four such complexes in Ukraine.

Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman of Regional Prosecutor’s Office, said that russian troops shelled Toretsk with artillery. A 76-year-old man was injured.

Towards Volnovakha, there were chaotic attacks on Vuhledar throughout the day, without any casualties.

Towards Donetsk, russians launched an air strike on Novomykhailivka of Marinka community and shelled Kostiantynivka and Heorhiivka with artillery. In the morning, there was a massive artillery attack and a missile strike on Avdiivka.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was killed and 6 buildings damaged in Zalizne of Toretsk community. In Illinivka community, the enemy launched 2 air strikes on a non-operational infrastructure facility. Three buildings were damaged in Viroliubivka of Kostiantynivka community. 4 private buildings and 2 industrial buildings were damaged in Chasiv Yar community.

Ihor Moroz, Acting Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, confirmed that yesterday russians killed 1 civilian in Zalizne.

Luhansk oblast

The enemy changed the direction of its attacks, trying to storm Bilohorivka. They did so several times overnight but achieved nothing as our defenders had been holding the defence there for over a year.

Yesterday the invaders launched air strikes on Serebrianka forestry.

Nevske and Bilohorivka suffered from artillery and mortar attacks.

Luhansk Regional Military Administration reported that locals cannot stand the daily russian attacks on the villages and are increasingly deciding to leave. Over the past two days, five people were evacuated, yesterday a man and a woman from Nevske.

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, informed that Sievierodonetsk residents have repeatedly heard statements from the occupation authorities about how the boiler houses were ready to supply heat to the apartment buildings a month ago. However, they did not feel the temperature rise in their homes. They organised a campaign to get heaters from parishioners in churches. Due to the lack of mobile phone coverage in Sievierodonetsk, it is impossible to call doctors. People have to look for an “ambulance” on foot. The other day, a man, who needed emergency help, had to walk several dozen metres to the hospital. In the evening and on weekends, there are no doctors on duty in medical institutions.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

During the visit of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen to Kyiv, a solemn handover of school buses took place. As part of the School Buses for Ukraine solidarity campaign, Ukrainian communities received more than 370 school buses.

According to Kyiv RMA, in Kyiv oblast, the heating season has started in all territorial communities. “Social facilities and residential buildings are being connected to the heat supply. Boiler houses and heating networks have been prepared for operation, and the necessary stock of boilers, pumps and pumping stations, and heat generators has been created.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv RMA, met with members of the public in the US state of Utah. The August Mission humanitarian organisation has been actively assisting Ukraine since the beginning of russia’s military aggression. They discussed joint projects in the fields of medicine, education, culture, agriculture, and the development of innovations in the space and defence industries.

Kyiv RMA reported that over the year, 6.4 thousand people joined the ranks of the Army of Restoration in Kyiv Oblast and started performing socially useful work under the government programme. Since the beginning of the year, the employment service has employed almost 11,000 people. A third of them have found new jobs, and more than 1,500 unemployed people have been sent for training or retraining.

In Kyiv, military and civilians can take part in first aid training courses announced by the Hospitaliery Medical Volunteer Battalion. The first lesson will take place on November 5 and the last on November 15. Everyone is welcome to attend. To participate in the training, you need to register.

Ukrainian Association of Football reported that Serhii Rebrov, the coach of the Ukrainian national football team, met with relatives of the heroes who died in the war against russian aggression. The coach was invited to the opening of a football pitch in the Zolochiv community by the mother of a fallen soldier. She initiated the construction of the pitch, donating the entire amount of state compensation for her deceased son. Rebrov handed over autographed balls and memorabilia to the families of the 17 deceased community members.

According to State Emergency Service of Ukraine, to teach safety lessons to children, 15 mobile safety classes are travelling across the Kyiv oblast. To raise awareness among children, UNICEF, rescuers and the National Police have joined forces. Interactive activities have been developed for children, and the mobile classrooms are equipped with everything necessary for a quality learning process.

Zhytomyr oblast

Mobile air defence groups were trained in the Zhytomyr oblast. The task of these soldiers is to shoot down air targets in the north of the oblast near the border with belarus, including russian kamikaze drones. The mobile group deploys in a few minutes after arriving at the site. Each soldier has a different role. The shooter and the gunner search for and destroy air targets, while the rest of the soldiers maintain a circular defence.

Vitaliy Bunechko, Head of Zhytomyr RMA, reported that residents of the Zhytomyr oblast have filed 587 applications for compensation to restore their homes and 71 applications for destroyed homes as a result of russian aggression. From January 1, 2024, compensation will be paid to citizens who made repairs to their homes damaged as a result of hostilities at their own expense.

Sumy oblast

According to the Sumy RMA, russians fired 15 times at the border areas of Sumy oblast and launched 46 attacks with mortars, artillery, MLRS, 4 of which involved the dropping of explosive ordnance from a UAV. The Krasnopillia, Yunakivka, Znob-Novhorodske, Druzhbivka, Seredyna-Buda, Esman communities were shelled.

The region’s National Police reported that on November 4, the russian army opened fire on 11 settlements in Sumy oblast. A garage was destroyed as a result of mortar shelling in the town of Seredyna-Buda. They also shelled the border town with multiple rocket launchers, damaging 20 private households. The russian military damaged the utility room of the Druzhba Primary Health Care Centre and the contact network of the Konotop power station by shelling the town of Druzhba.

According to the Sumy RMA, russian military fired mortars at the territory of the Shalyhine community – there were 9 explosions. 

Andrii Demchenko, a spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, reported that over the past month, border patrols recorded about 1,800 attacks by russia on the border area of Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts. In the Sumy oblast, border guards have recorded enemy attempts to use subversive reconnaissance groups. The border is constantly being reinforced as close to the state line as possible. To expose the subversive groups, UAVs are used to monitor the situation.

The Sumy RMA reported that the town of Romny plans to rebuild a school that was hit by a russian shahed on August 23, 2023. The school will be built with earmarked funds provided by international partners.

Chernihiv oblast

The State Border Guard Service reported that russians fired twice at the border of Chernihiv oblast. There were 5 mortar attacks on the territory of the Semenivka community and 15 attacks from AGS on the territory of the Snovsk community.

According to the Chernihiv RMA, in Chernihiv oblast, 67 agricultural enterprises suffered as a result of active hostilities. The amount of damage caused reaches UAH 688 million. During the occupation and shelling of the border, russians destroyed or damaged 324 pieces of agricultural machinery. In addition, fields, warehouses, sheds, potato storage facilities, mills, grain dryers, barns, water towers and administrative premises were damaged. Cattle and pigs were killed in 9 agricultural enterprises in the oblast as a result of the hostilities.

In Pryluky, students of the medical college’s volunteer hub weave protective nets, make trench candles and pillows, knit socks and amulets for the Ukrainian military. The volunteer hub was opened at the beginning of the last academic year. The volunteers raise funds for materials and shipments during charity events they organise themselves.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council announced that the enemy attacked the Nikopol district three times with artillery. A dozen shells were fired at Marganets and Chervonohryhorivsk communities. During the day the occupiers shelled the communities of the district 4 times. More than two dozen shells were fired. They beat Nikopol, Myrivska, Marganetska and Chervonogrigorivska communities. Two men, 30 and 58 years old were injured by the shelling in Myrivsk community. They were hospitalized in moderate condition.

Infrastructural and agricultural enterprises were damaged. A 77-year-old man was killed as a result of the attack at Marganetsk and Chervonohryhorivsk communities villages. ​​ 

Kirovohrad oblast

In Kirovohrad oblast rescuers met with teenagers who arrived from the east of the country. The participants of the event listened to the emergency workers recommendations about fire safety rules at home.

Poltava oblast

Philip Pronin, Head of Poltava RMA as a result of yesterday’s enemy attack, 1 person was killed, 5 – injured including two children. A man with an open fracture of the tibia was operated on, he is in the hospital in a moderate condition. The profile commission accepts applications from people whose property has been damaged. They will receive appropriate compensation. So far 7 buildings have been inspected.

In Poltava oblast the network of medical facilities in which military and civilians can undergo rehabilitation will be expanded. They plan to open three stationary rehabilitation departments.

Cherkasy oblast

In Cherkasy, about 60 people gathered on Cathedral Square to remember the captured defenders. 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Russian forces targeted military personnel in a village near the front line in Zaporizhzhia oblast. On November 3, the enemy launched an “Iskander-M” missile at the personnel of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade. This was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense and the Strategic Communications Directorate of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Military personnel were killed, and local residents were injured. The circumstances of the incident are currently being investigated, and the Ukrainian authorities have not commented on the number of casualties.

Yesterday, the enemy conducted 116 attacks at 19 cities and villages. 102 targeted the territory of populated areas along the front line, including Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, Bilohiria, Mala Tokmachka, Kamianske, Stepove, Piatykhatky, Mali Shcherbaky, and Prymorske. russian military forces also carried out 10 drone attacks on Huliaipole, Novodarivka, Chervona, Malynivka, Robotyne, Levadne, Poltavka, and Piatykhatky, as well as four airstrikes on Orikhiv and Robotyne. Additionally, there were 18 reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure, but no civilians were harmed.

A spy was discovered in the regional military administration. The perpetrator attempted to hack the servers of the regional administration to transmit information to the enemy. They now face imprisonment as punishment.

During the night of November 3, Ukrainian military forces destroyed a radar station associated with the S-400 system. Using similar weaponry, the enemy had shelled villages and towns in the region.

Today two explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied city of Berdiansk, audible in all parts of the city. This was reported by the head of the Berdiansk Municipal Administration, Victoria Halitsyna. Information about the incident is currently being clarified.

Mykolaiv oblast

Yesterday at 08:02 and 11:32, the enemy carried out artillery strikes on the city of Ochakiv. Additionally, at 19:19 yesterday and during the night at 01:45, 01:52, and 02:10 today, the enemy shelled the coastline and the waters of Kutsurub community. There were no reported casualties.

The day and night passed relatively peacefully in the city of Mykolaiv, as well as in Bashtanka, Pervomaisk, and Voznesenka regions. 

Odesa oblast

Today, the enemy attacked Odesa oblast by launching a tactical aviation missile Kh-31P from aircraft. The missile hit an infrastructure facility, damaging administrative buildings. Three employees were injured in the impact, and the explosive blast wave caused damage to nearby buildings.

According to the “South” Operational Command, two enemy warships of the russian fleet are maneuvering near the coast of the russian Federation and temporarily occupied Crimea, with one in the Black Sea and the other in the Azov Sea. A powerful storm forced missile carriers to seek shelter at their base locations.

A fighter from the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, Iurii Hlodan, lost his life at the front. In April of the previous year, his wife, three-month-old daughter, and mother-in-law were killed during the russian missile strike on the “Tiras” residential complex. Before the full-scale invasion, Iurii worked as a head baker in a restaurant company in Odesa.

Kherson oblast

Today, at around 15:00, the occupiers dropped an explosive device near a grocery store in Beryslav. Two people were injured.

Around 14:00, the russians targeted residential buildings in Korabelnyi district in Kherson. Four people were injured. Doctors assessed the condition of the injured as moderate severity. Additionally, the russian army shelled the Dniprovskyi district. As a result of the shelling, the second floor of a residential building was destroyed, and a preliminary report indicates a 61-year-old man was injured.

Yesterday, the enemy conducted 100 bombardments, firing 474 projectiles from mortars, artillery, “Grad” MLRS, tanks, drones, and aircraft. The enemy shelled the city of Kherson 12 times.

The police initiated 9 cases regardin war crimes committed by enemy forces in Kherson oblast: 2 people were killed, and 7 others were wounded, including a police officer. The occupiers dropped an explosive device from a drone in Zmiyivka, resulting in injuries to a 52-year-old local resident. A 62-year-old local resident was injured as a result of shelling in Kachkarivka.

The enemy dropped an explosive device from a drone in Beryslav. As a result 43-year-old police officer and a 47-year-old local resident were injured. The explosion also significantly damaged a police vehicle.

Around noon, the enemy shelled the “Korabel” neigborhood in Kherson with artillery fire. Three multi-story buildings were damaged, and 3 people were injured due to the explosions. One of the victims later died in the hospital while receiving necessary medical assistance. Around 19:00, the enemy targeted a grocery store in the downtown with artillery fire. A 52-year-old man was killed at the scene, and a 52-year-old shop owner suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds.

Furthermore, throughout the day, the enemy conducted aerial strikes with guided bombs on coastal settlements, including Tiahynka, Ivanivka, Mykilske, Tokarivka, Chervonyi Maiak, Respublikanets, Naddniprianske, and Darivka. One of the evening airstrikes resulted in the destruction of an educational institution in Darivka.

Southern defense forces continue to carry out their mission. Yesterday, the enemy suffered 16 casualties and lost 1 howitzer. Additionally, 1 observation post was destroyed.

Hospital in Novovorontsovka received a modern water purification system. The village has been facing water supply issues after the russian attack on the Kakhovka HPP. In an effort to partially address this problem, philanthropists delivered a reverse osmosis system, which was installed in one of the medical facility’s departments. This equipment will provide high-quality drinking water for patients, staff, and approximately 1000 residents living nearby.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

On August 30, a Barbie doll of Ukrainian fencer Olha Harlan was sold at an auction for $10,4K. The funds were donated to the BODRO clinic in the city of Novovolynsk, Volyn oblast, which deals with the rehabilitation of military personnel. With these funds, 14 soldiers were rehabilitated and three underwent surgery.

Zakarpattia oblast

Viktor Mykyta, Head of the RMA, reported that soldiers of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of Zakarpattia oblast, who defended Ukraine’s independence from the invaders, were killed tragically in the area of ​​combat operations. On November 6, a three-day regional mourning has been announced in Zakarpattia oblast, state flags will be flown at half-mast, every morning at 9 a.m. all will honor the memory of soldiers with a moment of silence, religious services will be held in churches of various denominations in the oblast.

In the church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church in the village of Sredne, priests together with representatives of the authorities, families of fallen heroes, the command of the 128th separate mountain assault brigade of Zakarpattia oblast and the community of the oblast honored the memory of defenders who gave their lives for the independence of Ukraine. Families of the fallen soldiers were awarded with the Hero’s Cross orders, which were posthumously awarded to Zakarpattia – soldiers who were killed while performing their duty in the fight against the occupier.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

About UAH 700K for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were collected in Kosovo during the 2nd charity auction. 78 lots were offered for auction, of which the most expensive was the unique silver coin Outstanding Hetmans of Ukraine. A 250-grams product was sold for UAH 80K. It was handed over to the auction by the father of a serviceman of the 96th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade of Kyiv Oleksii Hlaholjuk. The funds will be used for the needs of the 74th battalion of the 102nd separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ivano-Frankivsk oblast and for the soldiers of the special operations forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Lviv oblast

The Western Ukrainian Specialized Children’s Medical Center (WUSCMC) received IT equipment from the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv within the framework of the project Modernization of the IT infrastructure of WUSCMC. As part of the project, network servers, Wi-Fi access points, telecommunication cabinets, uninterruptible power supply units and other network equipment were purchased. A total of 13 sets to cover all the premises of the Center with a high-quality wireless Internet connection. The total cost of the project is about EUR 26,5K.

The RMA reported that UAH 7,5K were collected for the Armed Forces during the charity fair at the Veliko Kolodniv educational institution of Lviv district.

In the village of Pohirtsi, Sambir region, a memorial plaque was installed to Roman Rushchyshyn, fallen soldier of the Special Purpose Police Patrol Service Battalion Lviv of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv oblast. He was killed on March 7, 2022 in a battle with russian invaders in Luhansk oblast.

On the facade of the building of Lviv Scientific Lyceum #1 named after Bohdan-Ihor Antonych, a mural was unveiled in memory of Taras Chaika, a graduate of the institution. The defender served in the ranks of the 125th separate territorial defense brigade. In November 2022, during a combat mission in Donetsk oblast, the car in which Taras was traveling came under fire.

Rivne oblast

Combatants can receive educational services in the oblast for 58 professions and 140 advanced training programs. There are 5 educational departments at the service of students – in Rivne, Oleksandria, Mlyniv, Kostopol, Hoshcha and Sarny.

Volunteers in Rivne created an armored vehicle for the Armed Forces. Development and assembly of the car took 4 months, the weight of the car is 4 tons. The car is planned to be sent to the soldiers after all the strength tests, another car is at the assembly stage. The cost of such a machine is about $20K.

Ternopil oblast

Volodymyr Trush, Head of the RMA, announced that he presented state awards to military families from Ternopil oblast.

In Ternopil oblast, command and staff training was held to practice response measures in the event of emergency situations and attacks by the enemy. Training took place from October 31 to November 2. The State Emergency Service has developed a project of a training scenario for working out response measures. Participants familiarized themselves with issues related to indicators and warnings, forecasting consequences, alerting and informing authorities, initial and subsequent response, evacuation of the population, restoration of objects and recording of evidence.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA held the 2nd Diplomatic Forum. The foreign delegation included representatives of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Croatia, Moldova, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Montenegro. They discussed the current situation in Khmelnytskyi oblast, the issue of organizing humanitarian support, opportunities for intensifying international cooperation, etc.

The RMA held a meeting with a delegation with a defense trade mission from the state of Utah, the US. They signed a memorandum of intent to establish cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, development of education, entrepreneurship, as well as urban planning, which will allow the construction of new modern buildings that will be better protected from armed attacks.

Chernivtsi oblast

15 soldiers from Bukovyna were awarded the Grateful Bukovyna honorary award of Chernivtsi RMA, as well as a vacation ticket. In addition, RMA representatives talked with soldiers about problems faced by those released from captivity in civilian life.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

According to the President of the European Commission Ukraine has made excellent progress on its path to EU membership, and everyone will confirm this next week. “We’re impressed with the reforms you’re making in the midst of a war for your own existence. And you’re reforming the justice system, fighting the influence of oligarchs, fighting money laundering. I know you’re in the process of completing major reforms. Gabrielus Landsbergis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, warned against the desire to conclude a peace agreement with russia. According to him, for russia, the peace agreement only means “time to rearm.” Our children will curse us in the trenches we dig for them, he declared.

The European Union sent over 370 school buses to Ukraine as part of the School Buses for Ukraine solidarity campaign. As part of this campaign, the European Commission purchased 100 buses at a total cost of approximately €14 mln. Public and private organizations in EU member states provided a further 271 school buses through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, which is managed by the European Commission.

Nicholas Okott, senior military advisor of the Great Britain delegation to the OSCE, said that russia has already lost 5K tanks in the war in Ukraine, and the military operations are lasting 200 times longer than the invaders planned. He said this during the meeting of the OSCE Security Cooperation Forum.

Heorhiy Dubynskyi, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, announced that Ukraine has signed an international declaration on the safety of the use of AI.

Moldova canceled membership fees in the CIS and is preparing to leave the Commonwealth. The decision was made after the denunciation of membership in public organizations and “banking sanctions imposed on the russian federation”.

H&M stores in Ukraine will begin to resume operations in November. According to Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs, this week Ukrainian diplomats in Stockholm received final confirmation of the company’s return to the Ukrainian market. However, it is not specified how many stores and exactly where they will resume work.

Global impact of russian aggression 

The police of Bremen, Germany, are investigating the circumstances of the attack by a group of russian-speaking young men on four Ukrainians, one of whom was robbed. 

According to the police, seven attackers deliberately tried to provoke a fight with four 19-year-old Ukrainians, shouting pro-russian slogans. “In the end, they hit one Ukrainian with a gun, stole his headphones and watch and ran away,” the report says. According to the publication, the wounded man suffered minor injuries and was taken to the outpatient care. The police are now looking for witnesses to the attack.
