What happened in Ukraine today:

The enemy continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, he does not give up his plans for the full occupation of Ukraine, ignores the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, strikes, attacks both military and civilian objects. The enemy actively uses aviation and quadrocopters of the “FPV” type, conducts assaults with the support of armored vehicles.

The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.

During the day, 84 combat clashes took place.

In total, the enemy carried out 50 airstrikes and 80 attacks from rocket salvo systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. High-rise and private buildings, as well as other infrastructure objects, were destroyed and damaged.

On the Volyn and Poliske directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus perform tasks in the border areas with Ukraine.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and intelligence activities, carries out shelling of populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, increases the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. About 10 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar fire from the enemy, among them Karpovychi of Chernihiv Oblast and Iskryskivshchyna, Seredyna-Buda, Ryasne, Popivka of Sumy Oblast.

In the Kupyan direction, the enemy made 4 offensive attempts in the area of Synkivka settlement of Kharkiv region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular Dvorichna, Synkivka, Ivanivka of the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, our soldiers repelled 14 enemy attacks in Terna and Yampolivka settlements of the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defenses of our troops. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Rozdolivka and Vesele settlements of the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements were affected by enemy artillery and mortar shelling, among them Makiivka, Nevske, Luhansk region; Terny, Torske, Serebryanka, Spirne of the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, defense forces repelled 8 enemy attacks in the areas of Andriivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Toretsk, where the enemy tried to improve their tactical position. Also, more than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Andriivka, Ivanivske, and Klishchiivka of the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivsk direction, our defenders repelled 7 enemy attacks in the areas of Orlivka, Severne, Pervomaiske and Nevelske settlements. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Berdychi, Semenivka, Orlivka, Lastochkine, Tonenke. About 20 settlements, including Berdychi, Semenivka, Severna, and Netaylovo of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar fire from the enemy.

In the Marinsky direction, the defense forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Novomykhailivka and Pobeda settlements of the Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried 31 times to break through the defenses of our troops. The enemy also carried out airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Kostyantynivka, Oleksandropil, Krasnohorivka, Kurakhove, Paraskoviivka, and Novomykhailivka. Such settlements of the Donetsk region as Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Paraskoviivka came under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

On Novopavlivskyi, 2 enemy attacks were repulsed in the vicinity of Zolota Niva settlement. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Vugledar and Staromayorske settlements. About 10 settlements, including Prechistivka, Zolota Niva, Staromayorske, and Urozhane, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, defense forces repelled 4 enemy attacks west of Verbovoy and in the Robotyny area of the Zaporizhzhia region. More than 15 settlements, including Malynivka, Charivne, Biloghirya, and Novodanilivka of the Zaporizhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the area of responsibility of the “Odesa” anti-aircraft missile defense system, in the Kherson direction, the enemy does not give up its intention to knock out our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper. So, during the day, 2 attempts were made to storm the positions of our troops. More than 5 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar fire, among them the town of Ochakiv, Mykolaiv Region.

During the day, the aviation of the defense forces struck 6 areas of concentration of personnel and 3 anti-aircraft missile systems of the enemy.

Units of missile troops damaged 2 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, 1 logistics hub, 2 means of air defense and 1 ground control station of enemy UAVs.

By March 31, 2024, members of medical and social expert commissions, medical advisory and military medical commissions must submit an e-declaration for 2023 to the Unified State Register of Declarations. This was reported by NAZK. Electronic declarations must be submitted by categories of doctors who make decisions and sign relevant documents.

Foreigners are officially allowed to serve in the National Guard of Ukraine. This was announced in a decree signed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. To do this, you should contact the military commissariat at your place of residence or the military unit of the National Guard where you want to serve.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Fierce battles continue in the Lymano-Kupian and Bakhmut areas. This was reported by the spokesman of the “Khortytsia” OSU, Ilya Yevlash. Russian troops continue to storm near Sinkivka, Terni, Chasovoy Yar and Klishchiivka. The Russian military is transferring the main reserves near the Torsky ledge in the area of the Black Stallion River in the Lymano-Kupian direction.

During the day, the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this direction were fired upon 725 times from all available types of artillery, tanks, and grenade launchers. 29 kamikaze drone strikes. Enemy aircraft were used 10 times – Su-34 and Su-25.

From two to six guided aerial bombs are dropped at a time by Russian fighters on this part of the front. There were 11 combat clashes, during which the enemy lost 398 people, five more – replenished the exchange fund.

138 units of weapons and equipment were affected. Among them are six BMPs, five MT-LBs, ten guns of various types, 15 vehicles, the Strela-10 air defense system, the Judoist and Strizh electronic warfare stations, and 97 Russian drones.

Since the beginning of the week, Ukrainian fighters have destroyed 9 Russian tanks, 17 BMPs and more than three dozen units of other armored vehicles in the Kremin forests and in the Bakhmut region, said the commander of the NGU Oleksandr Pivnenko.

The Security Service of Ukraine found confirmation that Russia is using missiles it received from North Korea against Ukraine, the press service of the administration reported. Hwasong-11 (KN-23/24) missile strikes were recorded in Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Donetsk region and Kharkiv. According to the investigation, Russian troops fired more than 20 North Korean missiles at Ukraine. As a result of these attacks, at least 24 people were killed and more than 100 were injured

Kharkiv oblast

About 15 settlements of the Kharkiv region, including: Sinkivka, Dvorichna, Ivanivka, etc., were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar attacks. Airstrikes were carried out according to n.p. Milove, Vilkhuvatka, Hryhorivka, Petropavlivka, etc., said Oleg Sinegubov, head of OVA.

At 2:35 p.m. Vilkhuvatka village, Kupyansky district. A private house was damaged as a result of enemy shelling. There was no information about the victims.

At around 2:00 p.m., 1 civilian was killed as a result of shelling in Dvorichna village of Kupyan district. All data and circumstances are established.

At 12:40, mortar and artillery shelling of the village was carried out. Ivanivka, Kupyan district. A 52-year-old civilian was injured.

During the day, the enemy carried out three offensive actions in the area of Sinkivka and Tabaivka. No success for him.

Over the course of a day, teams of explosives technicians demined 12.41 hectares of territory and destroyed 681 explosive objects in the territory of the Kharkiv region.

Sappers neutralized two FAB-250 and FAB-500 aerial bombs dropped by the Russian Federation from airplanes on Kupyan Oblast, the press service of the National Police reported. These bombs did not explode.

110 out of 160 residents left the village of Chornoy Kupyan district after a Russian aerial bomb killed three people a week ago, said Shapoval, the head of the Vilkhuvatsk SVA. At this time, two children remain in Chorny. A mandatory evacuation can be announced from Chornoy, Nefedivka and Hrachivka.

Ukrainian front-line medics brought an ambulance from Kharkiv to Great Britain to show evidence of terrorist attacks in Russia, the Ministry of Health reported. In the building on Constitution Square, 5 in Kharkiv, which was partially destroyed by Russia in March 2022, emergency structures that threatened passers-by were dismantled.

Donetsk oblast

DTEK informed that the russian army shelled a thermal power plant near the frontline. 6 power engineers were injured. 

Two of the three russian drones launched on Dobropillia hit dormitories where IDPs lived. The town was attacked around 1 am. Two residents, aged 37 and 63, were injured.

The press service of Donetsk police reported that 11 settlements were under attack: Vuhledar, Dobropillia, Kostiantynivka cities, Zhelanne, Ocheretyne settlements, Bohoiavlenka, Veselyi Hai, Hannivka, Memryk, Novobakhmutivka and Romanivka villages. 38 civilian objects were damaged, including 17 residential buildings, 2 dormitories, an administrative building, a shopping centre, a shop, a cafe, a garage, an outbuilding, cars, a gas pipeline, substations and power lines.

Towards Volnovakha, a house was damaged in Vuhledar. Bohoiavlenka was shelled.

 

Towards Pokrovsk, a 5-storey building was damaged in Krasnohorivka of Marinka community. In Kurakhove community, 4 private houses were damaged: 3 in Veselyi Hai and 1 in Hanivka.

 

Towards Kramatorsk, 2 houses were damaged in Ozerne of Lyman community. 4 houses were damaged in Romanivka of Illinivsk community. 7 houses were damaged in Kostiantynivka.

 

Towards Bakhmut, an infrastructure facility was damaged in Toretsk. 2 private houses and 2 industrial buildings were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. Zvanivka and Pereizne of Zvanivka community and Rozdolivka and Fedorivka of Soledar community were shelled.

In total, russians shelled settlements in Donetsk oblast 14 times over the day. 62 people, including 13 children, were evacuated from the frontline.

111 civilians continue to survive in Vuhledar. The road to Vuhledar is constantly attacked by enemy guided aerial bombs. Police evacuated a sick woman whose legs began to malfunction. Later, doctors diagnosed her with severe pneumonia. A few more days and she could have died. In addition, law enforcers distributed humanitarian aid to the people.

17 civilians have already been killed by missiles made in North Korea. The Security Service of Ukraine has found evidence of the use of such ballistic missiles by the russian army to shell Ukraine.

Maksym Zhorin, Deputy Commander of the 3rd Separate Mechanised Brigade, stated that towards Avdiivka, the russian military will advance as long as they have enough energy. The surviving russian units began to move from Avdiivka to other parts of the frontline.

Oleksandr Honcharenko, Head of Kramatorsk City Military Administration, reported that the number of injured as a result of yesterday’s shelling of Kramatorsk has increased to eight. Rescuers are continuing to clear the rubble. One person may still be trapped under it.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, yesterday the enemy attacked Nevske and Makiivka with mortars and artillery. Makiivka and Bilohorivka suffered airstrikes. 

 Residents of the liberated settlements of Krasnorichensk community, who still live near the frontline, receive pension payments on a regular basis. To do this, they are helped to get to the nearest post office and then driven back. Yesterday five residents of Nevske and Novoliubivka received their pensions. In total, there are 24 recipients of the payments left in the community. 

 In Dovzhansk, the invaders are going to close the emergency room. According to the standards of the russian federation, cities with less than 150,000 residents have no need for round-the-clock medical care. Almost all cities in the occupied Luhansk oblast face similar problems.  

 Car queues form daily at the checkpoints at the entrance to Luhansk. To get into the city, you need to be checked and receive a special permit. Men are thoroughly checked and certain lists are made. This is preparation for forced mobilisation and the next wave will start in about a month.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Explosive technicians of the capital police destroyed the warhead of the russian Shahed attack drone, which was shot down on the approaches to Kyiv. As reported by the Kyiv police, a local resident noticed a part of an object similar to an unmanned aerial vehicle during a walk and reported it. The remains of the downed drone with an intact warhead were found in a forest strip.

In the Kyiv oblast, UNITED24 is making capital repairs of three apartment buildings in Myla and one in Buzova, which were damaged by the russian invaders. The regional military administration reported on the inspection of the reconstruction progress. Representatives of UNDP and contractors were also present at the on-site inspection.

In the Irpin community, the first course of training citizens for national resistance has ended, the city council reported. It is noted that the free course started in October last year. The training program, lasting 100 hours, covered a wide range of topics of general military tactical training.

Last week, the NGO “Ukrainian Women’s Guard” and Tetiana Serebrennikova held a meeting with women in a warm circle for communication in order to prevent psycho-emotional burnout and support during the war. The event took place in Borodyanka UWG-Hub. The women prepared multi-colored blankets for the defenders, chatted and learned to meditate.

Psychologists will hold a series of meetings with military families in the capital. The KCSA informed that the communication will take place at the Kyiv City Center for Gender Equality, Prevention and Counteraction of Violence. A total of nine meetings are planned.

At the National Center “Ukrainian House” in Kyiv, the exhibition “Dream Studio” opened – about the dreams and creativity of Ukrainian children during the war. The exhibition is organized by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Zhytomyr oblast

An exhibition of photos of the press officer and photographer of the “Azov” regiment, Dmytro Kozatskyi, who was captured by russia, was opened in his native Malin, Zhytomyr oblast. Its opening at the Center for Culture and Leisure was timed to coincide with the anniversary of the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine. The exhibition features more than 10 works by Dmytro, thanks to which the world saw the courage and indomitability of the defenders of Ukraine, who defended Mariupol for 85 days.

The head of the Olevsk community, Serhiy Lysytskyi, said that military personnel of the 117th separate mechanized brigade were sent a car purchased with donations from residents of the Olevsk community. In general, the community has already handed over half a hundred cars for the front.

The press service of the 26th artillery brigade, which is stationed in Zhytomyr oblast, filmed a documentary film about Bakhmut. The tape is a small section about the city and a story about the brigade’s actions to protect it. This is already the 13th documentary film, since 2018, which was shot with the involvement of the press service of the brigade.

Sumy oblast

 Sumy RMA reported that during the past day, the russians carried out 5 shellings of the border communities of the oblast, a total of 33 explosions from mortars and artillery were recorded. The communities of Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, and Nova Sloboda came under shelling.

At night, the russian military shelled three communities: they fired 10 mortar strikes on the territory of the Znob-Novhorodske community, dropped 3 mines on the territory of the Seredyna-Buda community, carried out an FPV drone attack and 2 artillery strikes on the territory of the Krasnopillia community.

The Ministry of Energy reported that a thousand consumers in Sumy oblast were cut off due to shelling by the russian federation. Residents of four settlements of the oblast are without electricity.

Sumy RMA reported that from February 26, additional restrictions of a special regime will be established in the oblast within the 5-kilometer border zone. Free entry, stay, residence and movement of persons will be prohibited in this territory. It is also prohibited to carry out work there that is not related to construction, arrangement of engineering and technical facilities, communications, emergency or rescue work.

The Ministry of Reintegration reported that the pilot project “Ukrposhta. Pharmacy” will start in the border areas of Sumy oblast. Local residents can order and receive medicines with free delivery. 

Chernihiv oblast

The SBGS reported that during the past day, russian troops carried out 6 shellings of the border territory of Chernihiv oblast. In total, 37 mortars and barrel artillery hits on three communities of the oblast – Semenivka, Snovsk and Novhorod-Siverskyi – were recorded.

The Prosecutor General’s Office reported that the Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office sent an indictment to the court against two russian soldiers in the case of the torture and execution of three brothers. On March 18, 2022, by order of the commander with the call sign “Zakon”, the russian military illegally imprisoned three brothers, one of whom was previously a member of the ATO. The men were illegally detained for four days in inadequate conditions, constantly beaten and forced to confirm their participation in the destruction of russian military equipment. After the torture, russian servicemen shot the three brothers and left their bodies in a pit. One of the men managed to survive and get out of the burial site on his own.

Chernihiv signed a Letter of Understanding with the leadership of the state of Minnesota on cooperation in the agricultural sector. It is about increasing opportunities for the reconstruction and restoration of the economy of the Ukrainian region. The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council reported that in Kamianske and Pavlohrad regions the Air Command East shot down 3 enemy Shaheds. The occupiers attacked Nikopol region 20 times in one day. They launched 16 kamikaze drones and fired artillery 4 times. Nikopol, Marhanets, Myrove, Pokrovsk and Chervonohryhorivka communities were hit. Two industrial and utility companies, 7 private houses, 3 country houses, 3 outbuildings and power lines were damaged.

Serhii Lysak, Head of Dnipropetrovsk RMA announced that Dnipro region received more than 1.700 laptops for schoolchildren from UNESCO.

The laptops will be given to large families, low-income families and IDPs.

Vinnytsia oblast

Serhii Morhunov, Vinnytsia Mayor reported that Vinnytsia region has donated aid to a mobile fire team to protect the sky over the region. The equipment was delivered to soldiers of two military units: 18 thermal imagers, 12 spotlights, 34 Bandera Power charging stations.

Yurii Melnyk, deputy head of electrical equipment repair shop reported that 20 stoves for the military were manufactured by Oblenerho employees in 3 months.

Poltava oblast

Philip Pronin, Head of the RMA reported that 2 more vehicles for mobile fire teams have been transferred from Poltava region. The off-road vehicles will help the defenders to move faster and respond to potential threats.

Cherkasy oblast

Cherkasy residents donated a car for the soldiers of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade. The money was raised by educators, museum workers and artists.

Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA reported that about 405 buildings have been damaged in region as a result of russian terrorism. These include residential buildings – private and multi-apartment, 10 schools, 11 kindergartens and seven hospitals, as well as other facilities. In total, there were about 85 hits.

 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Oleksandr Tarnavsky, Commander of the Tavria separate military unit reported that towards Zaporizhzhia, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled eight russian attacks in the vicinity of Robotyne, where russians are trying to conduct offensive actions in small assault groups, again using ATVs. 

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhya Regional Military Administration, reported that 578 attacks was conducted by the russian army on the towns and villages of Zaporizhzhya oblast on February 21. It shelled Gulyaypole, Orikhiv, Robotyno, Novodanilivka, Novodarivka, Mala Tokmachka 407 times with artillery, and used air shells, drones and MLRS in other settlements.

Rafael Grossi, IAEA Director General said that it is necessary to constantly protect the physical integrity of the ZNPP and avoid any attacks or military actions that could affect the safety of the facility. In particular, it is necessary to strictly adhere to the five specific principles he defined at a meeting of the UN Security Council on May 30 2023.

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that on   February  21 russian troops fired at Mykolaiv oblast with artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and FPV drones. In particular, one person was injured in the village of Lymani on the morning of February 22. More than 30 houses were damaged.

Odesa oblast

Armed Forces of South said that on the evening of  February 21, russian aircraft fired a missile from the Black Sea at Odesa oblast. The X-31P missile lost its combat capability in the air. 

 

According to Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, in Odesa oblast, a boat was named after a pilot killed in a russian attack. It is the boat “Lotsman Surin”. On  November 8, 2023, as a result of an enemy attack on the civilian port infrastructure of Pivdennyi port, first class pilot Sergei Surin was killed in the line of duty. The staff of Delta-Pilot took the initiative to rename the boat received from French colleagues in honour of their fallen comrade. The ceremony was attended by the deceased’s family. The family provided a photo of the boat and commemorative documents from the Shipping Administration on the naming of the pilot boat after Surin. According to the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 16/2024, Surin was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage”, III class, for his dedication and courage during the performance of tasks.

Kherson oblast

In the morning, the russian army shelled Lviv in the Kherson oblast. One of the shells hit a house. A man who was in the yard nearby was killed. 

Beryslav in the Kherson oblast was attacked by  russian army with a drone, hitting a man. He received an explosive injury and shrapnel wounds to both legs. The victim was hospitalised.

On February 21, on the left bank of the Kherson obkast, Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed six cannons, a Grad multiple rocket launcher system, two mortars, two UAVs, two boats, a ground artillery control station, 12 armoured vehicles, 13 fortifications, a communications centre and a field ammunition depot of the russian army. 133 russian servicemen were killed.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, said that on February 21, russian troops fired 47 times at Kherson oblast. A rocket attack was launched at Chornobaivka. A mobile phone tower was destroyed in Beryslav region. Three people were injured.  

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Lutsk City Council allocated UAH 194 mln to the Armed Forces. Thus, the amount of funds allocated for the Armed Forces for 2024 amounts to UAH 500 mln. A subvention of UAH 10 mln was also allocated for the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade.

Lutsk City Council sent two DJI Mavic 3 Pro quadcopters and two Starlink satellite systems to the military unit A4123 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Zakarpattia oblast

Uzhhorod City Council voted to increase the funding of the Program for the support of military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military formations and paramilitary organizations to UAH 30 mln for 2024. Funds will be allocated for the logistical and technical support of the military, the purchase of property and equipment.

During the regular session of the Regional Defense Council, changes were approved to the holding of cultural, physical and recreational and sports events in the oblast under martial law. From now on, the presence of spectators at competitions with the observance of additional security measures for the organization and holding of championships, cups, all-Ukrainian competitions of various age groups in Ukraine is not prohibited under the conditions of martial law, except for territories where hostilities are taking place.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Rescuers were visited by children from IDP families in Ivano-Frankivsk. Rescuers taught the children all the rules, discussed dangerous situations, and with the help of an interesting performance focused the children’s attention on the dangers of the winter period. At the end, rescuers handed the child printed products of UNICEF Ukraine, so that at home with the help of interesting crosswords and riddles, he could repeat everything he heard in the Safety Classroom.

Lviv oblast

The oblast received autonomous charging stations for Unbreakability Centers, medical equipment, household appliances and textiles, from Masovian Voivodeship and the Marshalski administration(Poland).

Together with partners and the initiative team, RMA sent to the front lines 669 FPV drones, 20 DJI MAVIC 3 Pro and 2 anti-drone guns. They will be distributed among military brigades, units of the Armed Forces, territorial defense and border detachments. The key amount for the drones was collected during two charity auctions.

Oleksandr Tovstiuk, from Morshyn, was posthumously awarded with the For Military Service to Ukraine Medal. The warrior came to the defense of Ukraine with the beginning of a full-scale russian invasion. He served in the military unit 2144 and was a border service inspector of the 3rd category, assistant grenade launcher of the 2nd department of border service inspectors.

A memorial plaque in honor of Volodymyr Hirnyi was opened and consecrated at Komarniv school in Lviv oblast. The soldier was the commander of the anti-aircraft missile complex. Ye was killed in Popasna, Luhansk oblast, in April 2022.

Oleksandr Belyavskyi, Head coach of the national chess team of Ukraine, international grandmaster, conducted a master class for defenders who are currently being treated at the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center. Adrian Mikhalchyshyn, international grandmaster, well-known chess player and coach, also played with defenders.

Rivne oblast

Oleksandr Koval, Head of the RMA, emphasized that the formation of Varaska city military administration is not connected with the offensive from belarus. It is about the strategic importance of Rivne NPP and the security environment in Varasha.

Radyvylov community sent a car worth UAH 135K to the military for the front. The machine will be received by gunners performing tasks in the eastern direction. Their countryman also serves among them. AKmost UAH 50K was collected by employees of the city council (donated from trade union contributions). Another UAH 45K was recovered thanks to the charity fair. The rest was donated by caring residents of the community. Volunteers also loaded the necessary long-term storage products, home preservation and ready-made baked goods into the pickup truck.

In Rivne oblast, another community joined the Sustainability Program. Therefore, 5 Centers will operate in the oblast, where they will teach how to overcome fears, how to deal with children’s tantrums, how to adapt to new living conditions and psychological recovery.

In Rivne, it was possible to raise over UAH 165K at the charity concert Unity is Strength!”. Funds will be donated to help defenders!

Ternopil oblast

Since the beginning of the year, 610 servicemen from Ternopil have received payments of UAH UAH 10K each. In particular, this week another 280 Ternopil military personnel will receive a one-time financial aid for the provision of equipment and technical means in the total amount of UAH 2,8 mln.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

On February 21, another rotation of the monitoring mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency took place at Khmelnytskyi NPP. The mission consists of international experts who have high qualifications and experience in the field of nuclear energy. Experts conduct regular tours, analyze data on increasing the level of security during martial law. A new group of experts arrived at Khmelnytskyi NPP, where they met with the company’s management and employees. The experts will work for three weeks, familiarize themselves with the current situation at the power plant, check the condition of equipment and systems, and assess compliance with safety regulations and rules.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that Yurii Bohhaichuk and Mykola Hrynka, servicemen of the 94th Battalion, 107th Territorial Defense Brigade, were awarded with the Grateful Bukovyna award.

The city of Khotyn and the city of Stropkov (Slovakia) signed a partnership agreement. In particular, the partner cities will jointly prepare project applications for two large-scale European programs: the Interreg NEXT Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine (HUSKROUA) (EUR 2 mln) and the Danube Region Programme (EUR 2 mln) programs.

 

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Yehor Chernev, Deputy Chairman of the National Security and Defense Committee, announced that the Bundestag voted for a recommendation to provide Ukraine with long-range systems for delivering “point strikes deep in the rear of the Russian aggressor”, i.e. long-range TAURUS air-to-surface cruise missiles. 

Denmark announced the signing of a security agreement with Ukraine. The country undertakes to support Ukraine both in the military and civilian spheres for the next 10 years.

Spain announced the provision of another package of military aid to Ukraine. The package included: M-113 armored personnel carriers (2 of which were converted into sanitary vehicles); fire engines, snowplows and personnel transport vehicles; 2 light boats; electric generators; water treatment plants; means of anti-aircraft defense. The country also continues to train Ukrainian servicemen, in particular, to manage the Patriot, NASAMS, and Hawk systems, as well as to plan and execute demining operations.

New Zealand announced a new aid package worth almost $26 mln to the training of the Ukrainian military, humanitarian aid, recovery and the purchase of ammunition, the government’s website reported. The country is also developing new sanctions against russia for invading Ukraine.

Ukroboronprom reported that the Ukrainian Defense Industry JSC signed an agreement on cooperation with the Dynamit Nobel Defense leading German company. “Ukroboronprom continues to expand the geography of international partnerships with leading global companies. On February 17, 2024, the Company signed a Memorandum with one of the leaders of the global arms community – Dynamit Nobel Defense,” they noted.

The second meeting of the Bring Kids Back UA International Expert Group was held in the format of a video conference, the co-chairs of which are Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, and Baroness Helena Kennedy, Director of the Institute of Human Rights of the International Association of Lawyers.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, met with Pier Francesco Dzadzo, Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine. They discussed the preparation of a bilateral security agreement with Italy within the framework of the G7 Joint Declaration on Support for Ukraine.

Petr Fiala, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, reported that the country will no longer issue visas and residence permits to russians and belarusians due to the invasion of Ukraine. Instead, the government should create conditions for the activity of the opposition or students in the Czech Republic who “do not want to have anything to do with the russian and belarusian regimes.”

The Lithuanian government has approved the closure of two checkpoints on the border with belarus. In particular, it is about Raigardas and Lavorishkes checkpoints on the Lithuanian-belarusian border. It is noted that they will be closed from March 1, 2024. At the same time, it is emphasized that neither pedestrians or vehicles will be able to move through these checkpoints. So, from spring, the movement of pedestrians and cyclists through the checkpoints in Medininkai and Shalcininkai will be restricted.
