It has been the 540 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On August 17, the enemy launched 4 missile and 37 air strikes, fired 27 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops’ positions and settlements. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed. 

There is still a high threat of missile and air strikes across Ukraine.

There were 24 combat engagements during the day.

The situation towards Volyn and Polissa remained unchanged. 

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 20 settlements, including Kliusy, Yeline, and Turia in Chernihiv oblast; Rozhkovychi, Iskryskivshchyna, Uhroidy in Sumy oblast and Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Pokaliane in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the russian invaders conducted unsuccessful offensives near Synkivka, Kharkiv oblast. Conducted airstrikes in the areas of Petropavlivka and Kucherivka, Donetsk oblast. Artillery and mortar attacks targeted Petropavlivka, Podoly, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Tabaivka, Cherneshchyna in Kharkiv oblast and Nadiia in Luhansk oblast.

Towards Lyman, the invaders conducted unsuccessful offensives near Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast. There were airstrikes near Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast, and Ternivka, Yampol, and Siversk, Donetsk oblast. About 20 settlements came under enemy artillery fire, including Nevske, Dibrova, Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast and Torske, Yampil, Siversk, Verkhnekamianske in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, the russian army conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Bohdanivka and Bila Hora in Donetsk oblast. There were airstrikes in the areas of Spirne and Vasiukivka, Donetsk oblast. More than 20 settlements suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, Diliivka, and Oleksandr-Shultine in Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Avdiivka, the russian military conducted unsuccessful offensives in the area of Keramik, Donetsk oblast. There were air strikes in the areas of Novokalynove and Avdiivka, Donetsk oblast. More than 10 settlements came under artillery fire, including Oleksandropil, Keramik, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Severne, Nevelske in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Marinka, Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back the russian offensive in the areas of Marinka and Krasnohorivka in Donetsk oblast. There was an air strike near Krasnohorivka, Donetsk oblast. More than 10 settlements came under artillery fire, including Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, Kostiantynivka, and Katerynivka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain the lost position near Urozhaine in Donetsk oblast. More than 10 settlements came under artillery fire, including Vodiane, Bohoiavlenka, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka, and Blahodatne in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy conducted an airstrike near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia oblast. More than 20 settlements suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Bilohiria, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Shcherbaky, Novoiakovlivka, Stepove in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Towards Kherson, more than 15 settlements came under artillery fire, including Novoberyslav, Lvove, Poniativka, Mykilske, Sadove in Kherson oblast and the city of Kherson.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations towards Melitopol and Berdiansk, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.

Ukrainian aviation conducted 7 strikes on buildups of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment and 2 on anti-aircraft missile systems. 2 enemy Ka-52 attack helicopters were also destroyed . 

Rocket and artillery units destroyed 4 artillery pieces at firing positions, 2 ammunition depots and 1 enemy electronic warfare station.

Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov informs that For the first time since July 16, 2023, a ship headed for the Bosphorus left the port of Odesa. This was announced by . It is known that there are more than 30 thousand tons of cargo on board, including food. 

MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak informs that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed laws extending martial law and general mobilization until November 15, 2023. 

The Ministry of Reintegration reports that 1,600 Ukrainians submitted their applications to the personnel reserve being formed to work in the de-occupied territories. 1,500 candidates have already been enrolled, and they will continue to receive professional training.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Serhii Cherevatyi, Spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, informed that the invaders conducted 18 air raids in the east sector and launched 404 artillery attacks of various calibres and types.  While repelling enemy attacks, 41 invaders were eliminated and 109 injured.

A russian T-72 tank, four BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles, a BMD, an Msta-B howitzer, a drone, two Lancet kamikaze drones, three ammunition depots and eight trucks were destroyed.

Kharkiv oblast

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that towards Kupiansk, russian invaders tried to make an offensive near Senkivka. They retreated with losses under Ukrainian fire.

Yesterday the shelling of settlements of Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, Izium and Kupiansk regions continued.

At least 4 private buildings were damaged as a result of a guided bomb attack on Cherneshchyna village, Izium region.

The enemy launched two missiles, preliminarily X-22, at Rohan settlement, Kharkiv region. They hit the ground, causing no destruction or casualties.

In Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, a private building and a sports facility were damaged by shelling.

A private building was destroyed and a fire broke out in Pokaliane village, Chuhuiv region.

In Petropavlivka village, Kupiansk region, a private building was damaged and a fire broke out.

A forest fire broke out near Velyka Rohan village, Kharkiv region, as a result of shelling.

A private building was damaged as a result of shelling in Kupiansk. A 55-year-old man was seriously injured and died in hospital. Law enforcers are establishing the details and identity of the deceased.

Yesterday pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined more than 3 hectares of territory and defused 81 explosive ordnance.

The enemy shelled Kivsharivka village, Kupiansk region, at about 6:50 am. A garage was damaged and a fire broke out. Preliminary, there were no casualties.

At about 10 am, the invaders shelled Zaoskillia, Kupiansk region. A woman born in 1962 was killed.  Another woman born in 1963 sustained shrapnel wounds. Medics treated the victim on the spot.  A private house and a residential building were damaged and a fire broke out in an outbuilding.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the RMA, said that mandatory evacuation of civilians from the communities of Kupiansk region under shelling is ongoing. 436 people have been evacuated, including 128 children, 210 women, 79 men and 19 people with disabilities. More than 14 volunteer organizations are involved in the evacuation. Transport with people is always accompanied by National Police and military units.

Donetsk oblast

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, yesterday russians injured two civilians: in Vuhledar and Stepanivka.

Towards Volnovakha, one person was injured in Vuhledar and a building was damaged in Bohoiavlenka.

Towards Donetsk, there were isolated attacks on Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka and the outskirts of Ocheretyne community.

Towards Horlivka, 2 buildings were damaged in Toretsk community: in Pivdenne and Toretsk. An apartment building, an industrial building and 4 garages were damaged in Chasiv Yar community.

Towards Lysychansk, 2 buildings in Zvanivka community were damaged: in Zvanivka and Pereizne. Two buildings were destroyed in Siversk. Lyman community was shelled 8 times.

Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Air Forces of Ukraine, said that in the morning Ukrainian troops shot down a russian Ka-52 helicopter towards Bakhmut.

Andrii Kovalov, Spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that Ukrainian troops made progress in southern Urozhaine yesterday and are gaining a foothold in the area.

The National Resistance Centre informed that more than 20K residents of occupied Horlivka have been killed since the start of the full-scale invasion. The men were mobilized since 2022.

Petro Andriushchenko, Mariupol Mayor’s Councillor, stated that yesterday russian invaders took 1,500 tonnes of Ukrainian grain from Mariupol port.

Serhii Yashchenko, Head of Velka Novosilka Military Administration, reported that three people were evacuated from the liberated Urozhaine. They were provided with psychological help and essentials.

Volunteers from the Smart Medical Aid Foundation provided three hospitals in Donetsk oblast with blood gas analysers. The equipment was delivered to Pokrovsk, Selydove and Kurakhove. The equipment is needed for quick diagnostics during surgeries for seriously injured patients.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Nadiia, Nevske, Bilohorivka are under enemy aircraft attacks. There are air attacks along the entire frontline. Also, russians shelled Ukrainian positions and settlements over 150 times yesterday. They used mortars, cannon and rocket artillery, and tanks. There was destruction in Nevske, where there were four explosions. A residential building was damaged. Novoliubivka was also hit. Dibrova and Bilohorivka also suffered from artillery shelling.

The occupation authorities of the so-called ‘’luhansk people’s republic’ announced that accreditation certificates issued to media representatives by other election commissions, including the russian Central Election Commission, will not be valid during the elections in lpr. The electoral process will be as closed as possible, even for its own people as only the “lpr election committee” can accredit whomever it wishes.

The massive outrage of Lysychansk residents at the actions of the invaders is restrained only by the lack of communication and the Internet, as well as fear of russian troops. The city has been occupied for over a year, but russians do almost nothing there. The locals have not even got demonstrative reconstruction in the form of new windows or doors. Many say that they will have to find a place to spend the winter for the second time if they do not replace the windows at their own expense. The occupation administration pretends not to have heard about any compensation for damaged or destroyed housing.

Artem Lysohor, Head of the Regional Military Administration, informed that to cover the elections in the occupied Luhansk oblast to be held in autumn, journalists will be allowed to enter only with accreditation from the so-called lpr election committee. Accreditation certificates issued even by the russian Central Election Commission will not be valid.

Referring to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, police officers of the consolidated detachment of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Luhansk oblast delivered aid from Krasnorichensk community to residents of Nevske, Makiivka, Hrekivka and Novoliubivka.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that 18 apartment buildings will be restored in Kyiv oblast under the UNITED24 project. Works are already underway at 16 sites. Before the full-scale invasion, more than 4,500 people lived in these houses.

Preparations for the new school year continue in Kyiv. Major repairs of  buildings are underway in 437 Ukrainian educational institutions. According to Kyiv City State Administration, four educational institutions will be equipped with new shelters this year. Approximately UAH 61 million was allocated for their construction.

According to Anatolii Fedoruk, Mayor of Bucha, Taiwan will help restore the children’s and youth martial arts school in Bucha, which was destroyed by the russian army during the full-scale invasion. More than UAH 18 million will be allocated for these works, and another UAH 4 million will be spent to construct a ground bomb shelter in Bucha City Park.

First aid training will be held at 12 metro stations on August 18. Experienced specialists and instructors of the Centre for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine will conduct training for everyone free of charge.

A social shop will be opened in Irpin, where residents in need will be able to receive humanitarian aid for a nominal fee. According to Oleksandr Markushyn, Mayor of Irpin, the opening is planned to be carried out with the help of representatives from the German charitable foundations (Helferkreis Arnstein, People for People) and the Voluntary Association of Resistance Forces of Ukraine.

According to the information provided by the Department of Transport Infrastructure of Kyiv City State Administration, Kyiv will not raise public transport fares till the end of martial law.

Zhytomyr oblast

Construction teams from Zhytomyr oblast continue the restoration of Tryfonivka in Kherson oblast. The buildings on Myru Street have already been fitted with new windows and roofs. Repair of damaged facades continues at 74 sites. The repairs to the residential buildings, a kindergarten and a first aid point are scheduled to be completed by November this year.

Sumy oblast

On August 16, the russians opened fire 31 times on the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. There were 244 explosions. Krasnopillia, Miropillia, Seredyno-Buda, Bilopillia, Shalyhine, Yunakivka, Mykolaivka communities were shelled. The enemy attacked with artillery, mortars, and grenade launchers, dropped 27 mortar bombs, and opened fire from a tank. Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that a horse was killed, two private houses and one truck were damaged. 

At night and in the morning, the enemy fired 4 times at the border areas. There were 55 explosions recorded. Bilopillia, Seredyno-Buda, and Khotin communities were shelled. Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that the enemy opened fire with mortar systems and an automatic grenade launcher, dropping 3 mines.

Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of the oblast, reported that the state provides Sumy oblast with almost UAH 2 billion forrecovery projects. According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, UAH 1 billion 729 million has been allocated from the state budget to eliminate the consequences of the destruction in local communities. 

Chernihiv oblast

Over the past 24 hours, the russians opened fire 6 times on the border areas of Chernihiv oblast from their territory. According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, there were 59 attacks from mortars and barrel artillery. Novhorod-Siversk, Snovsk, Horodnya, and Semenivka communities were shelled.

On August 15, residents of Pryluky solemnly welcomed the defense fighters who returned from the combat zone for recuperation and re-enlistment. The soldiers marched along the main street to Soborna Square, carrying portraits of their fallen comrades. About five hundred fighters, residents of Pryluky and the region, who formed the 164th battalion of the territorial defense, have returned.

The regional military administration reported that in Chernihiv oblast, 37 medical facilities have been fully restored, and another 19 partially restored. In total, over 17 months of full-scale war in Ukraine, russian shells and missiles have destroyed more than 186 medical facilities and damaged 1,409. So far, 357 medical facilities have been fully restored, and another 416 partially.

13 new school buses are to be delivered to the communities of Chernihiv oblast by November. The transport was purchased at the expense of an educational subvention received by the oblast in the amount of about UAH 28 million. As reported by Chernihiv Oblast State Administration, out of 402 schools in the oblast, there are 48 hub schools, to which 10,000 students will be transported by 306 buses.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the regional council  Novomoskovsk region was attacked with missiles. During the day, the enemy attacked Nikopol region three times. Artillery was used to hit Nikopol and Marhanets community.

The shelling caused three fires in private houses. Rescuer workers eliminated the fire. A utility facility, 12 private houses, 8 outbuildings, a car, and a power line were damaged.

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the Regional Council, reports that a 48-year-old man wounded in the shelling of Mezhova community in Synelnykove region on August 16 was evacuated to a regional hospital in Dnipropetrovs’k region. He has mine-blast trauma, fractures, multiple shrapnel wounds. The wounded man’s condition is assessed as serious. However, after receiving the necessary medical care, he was stabilized. 

 

Vinnytsia oblast

A recreation and rehabilitation area for Ukrainian defenders, war veterans and their families is being created in the village of Naraivka, Krasnopil territorial community.

Kirovohrad oblast

At the hub in Kropyvnytskyi, children from Luhansk were given backpacks and power banks. The aid was provided by the Safe Future Foundation and the Kropyvnytskyi office of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).”

 

In Kirovohrad oblast, the Youth Center hosted the opening of the UNICEF international youth project U-Point. It is a platform that collects young people’s opinions on various areas of public life in the format of anonymous online surveys to promote change in society.

 

Poltava oblast

For two days in a row, the Forum of Councils of Internally Displaced Persons from the Eastern Regions of Ukraine “Let’s Change/Transform Ukraine!” has been held in Poltava. Representatives of Luhansk, Poltava, Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts, supported by UNHCR, share their experience in integrating IDPs in their new place of residence.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of the Regional Military Administration, says that from Cherkasy oblast, three ambulances were sent to the 118th Brigade, 110th Brigade and 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. In addition,  an ATV and 50 FPV drones for reconnaissance were also delivered.  

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On August 16, the russian army fired 80 times at towns and villages of Zaporizhzhia oblast . Huliaipole, Novodarivka, Shcherbaky, Mala Tokmachka, Zaliznychne, Preobrazhenka, Olhivske, Poltavka, Temyrivka, Kamianske, Stepove, Novoiakovlivka and other villages on the frontline came under fire.

 

In the morning, soldiers of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade shot down a russian Ka-52 helicopter near Robotyno. 

 

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informs that In the temporarily occupied village of Shevchenkivske, the russian military set up a field hospital in a civilian building. More than 30 wounded occupants are being treated there. .

 

Mykolaiv oblast

According to Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, russian troops shelled the water area of Ochakiv community at 4:04 pm, 4:43 pm, 5:55 pm and 6:38 pm. There were no casualties.

Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, reported that command and staff exercises in case of radiation threat, missile attacks and fires have begun in Mykolaiv oblast. Thus, on 17 and 18 August, multi-stage command and staff exercises on civil defense will be held in Yuzhnoukrainsk and Voznesensk region. The exercises will involve evacuating the population from areas of potential radiation contamination and eliminating the aftermath of fires and missile strikes.

Pivden Adult Learning and Education Centre has completed a training course on providing first aid to victims of hostilities. The course lasted from 17 April to 15 August 2023 as part of the Urgent Support of Civil Society and Media in Response to the War in Ukraine project. The project involved the Halytsynivka, Pervomaisk, Shevchenkove, Mishkovo-Pohorilove, Radisnyi Sad, Bereznehuvate, Bashtanka, Voznesens, and Novyi Buh communities of Mykolaiv oblast (residents of 12 settlements). Approximately 250 participants were trained in three programmes: hemostasis, basic life saving and first aid in war.

Odesa oblast

Based on the information provided by the ‘South’ Operational Command, in the Black Sea, as of this morning, the enemy forces consisted of nine ships and boats, of which no missile launchers were spotted. Enemy submarines are also at their base. Nevertheless, the level of missile and drone threat in Odesa oblast remains very high.

Taras Vysotskyi, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy, informed that several thousand tonnes of agricultural products worth millions of dollars were destroyed in Reni port. The enemy continues to attack the region with drones. However, the ability to send tens of thousands of tonnes of products every day remains.

Andrii Klymenko, Chief of the Monitoring Group of the Black Sea Institute for Strategic Studies and Chief Editor of BlackSeaNews, said that JOSEPH SCHULTE container ship, which left Odesa port yesterday, has reached the territorial waters of Romania. The ship’s track line leads to the conclusion that it was following a new corridor and only twice, on short parts of the route, went beyond the territorial sea of Ukraine. This proves that a grain corridor from Ukrainian ports is possible without russia. At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi noted on Twitter that this is an important step for Ukraine to restore freedom of navigation in the Black Sea.

 

Kherson oblast

As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on August 17, the russian army attacked more than 15 settlements in Kherson oblast with artillery, namely Kherson, Novoberyslav, Lvove, Poniativka, Mykilske and Sadove. 

Over 10 settlements near Kherson were shelled yesterday.These are Kreschenivka, Novodmytrivka, Mykolaivka, Sadove, Zelenivka, Berehove, Kizomys and Kherson.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, says that on August 16, the russian army fired 78 times at Kherson oblast using various types of weapons. They fired 23 shells at Kherson. One person was killed and seven more wounded. 

On the night of August 17, the russian army shelled Sadove near Kherson with artillery. Damage was reported in Komyshany, Kherson, Antonivka, Molodizhne and Zelenivka.

Residents of Kherson neighborhoods flooded by russian troops as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant may be left without heating in winter. The Korabel neighborhood still has no electricity or gas, and the restoration work is not being carried out because of the shelling.

In the temporarily occupied territory of the oblast, the russian military is reinforcing checkpoints, fearing provocations on Ukraine’s Independence Day and partisan movement. Local ‘leaders’ of the occupation authorities hire security guards because they fear for their lives.

Save the Children International provided a water pumping kit for Kochubeev community in Kherson oblast. The kit includes a car trailer, a motorized pump for dirty water, a generator, and a drainage pump for pumping contaminated water. The assistance was made possible with the support of Save the Children International.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The Regional Defense Council has imposed restrictions on holding mass religious events in the form of marches and demonstrations in Volyn oblast from August 19 to 25, 2023. In addition, strengthening of the state border bordering belarus continued, and  the ban on hunting in the oblast was extended for the period of martial law.

Zakarpattia oblast

Uzhhorod City Council reported that all communal medical facilities of the city are equipped with generators and stocks of fuel and will be able to work without interruption in case of power outages. Also, medical institutions have almost completed preparations for the heating season.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Olena Zelenska, First Lady of Ukraine, arrived in Ivano-Frankivsk on a working visit. In particular, she visited a rehabilitation center where defenders and their relatives are rehabilitated.

23 inclusive resource centers operating in Prykarpattia received equipment from the Save the Children in Ukraine international organization to train and develop children with special educational needs.

Lviv oblast

After the night rocket attack on August 15, 4 are being treated in regional medical facilities. In Lviv, 65 residents registered and submitted documents for compensation of losses. 69 acts of visual inspection were drawn up by employees of the Railway District Administration for submission to the consideration of the city commission for the allocation of funds from the reserve fund for liquidation of the consequences of a missile strike.

In the village of Stavchan, residents of 3 destroyed houses were provided with housing for temporary living. 2 residential buildings that were not subject to restoration were dismantled. In other residential areas, damaged parts of roofs, windows, and doors are being restored, and the area is being cleaned.

Zhovkiv hospital received a portable ultrasound machine from Freunde helfen Konvoi, Germany.

250 IDPs living in Peremyshlian community received assistance, namely, hygiene products, bed linen, towels. 35 families were given sets of dishes from the Right to Protection CF and the UN Refugee Agency.

For 10 days, the children of Heroes from Strii region, who gave their lives in the battle for Ukraine, recovered and rested in the Polish commune of Stravchyn. The program included competitions, master classes, excursions and mountain climbing.

200 children from Raliv community were recuperating in the camp of the Center for National Patriotic Education named after Kyril Osmak in the village of Sprynia, Sambir region. They took part in recreational and sports events.

Medenitsk community was completely decommunized in Drohobych region. There were 10 monuments of soviet propaganda in the community.

On August 11 and 12, the Ukrainian Women’s Guard NGO conducted a 3.5-hour tactical medicine training for women in Truskavets (Lviv oblast). Participants of the training were representatives of various volunteer organizations.

Rivne oblast

The RMA held a round table on issues of gender equality in the conditions of war. The event was attended by Kateryna Levchenko, Government Commissioner for gender policy. They discussed implementation and monitoring of the National Action Plan for the Implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 Women, Peace, Security.

The RMA reported that from the budget of Varas community, funds were allocated for a Mitsubishi L200 car for one of the units of the National Guard, which performs defense tasks in the community.

There are 4 brigades (over 20 people) from Rivne oblast working in Kochubeiv community (Kherson oblast). Restoration of 121 residential buildings was completed (64% of damaged houses in the community). The key works are repair of roofs, glazing and partial replacement of windows, repair of facades.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil regional clinical hospital received medical consumables, namely, bandages, medical solvents, syringes and other consumables from the Strong life public organization.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Germany provided another aid package to Ukraine, which includes 2 IRIS-T SLS short-range air defense missile launchers, 4 539 smoke ammunition of 155 mm caliber, 10 GO12 ground surveillance radars, 4 tractor units 8×8 HX81, 4 semi-trailers, and 8 15-ton loaders.

The Swedish Parliament reported that the country will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package, will include ammunition and spare parts worth up to SEK 1.1 billion, trucks and demining equipment worth up to SEK 2.15 billion. Sweden also decided to sell air-to-air AMRAAM missiles to the United States, which will be transferred to Ukraine to strengthen air defense.

The European Commission will transfer EUR 135 mln to Ukraine and Moldova to develop cross-border transport connections, medical services, educational and research projects, etc. This fund was originally intended for russia and belarus for 2021-2027.

Switzerland joined the 11th package of EU sanctions against russia.

Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia joined the G7 Security Guarantee Declaration.

Switzerland introduced new sanctions against the russian federation, which include a ban on the export of dual-purpose goods and goods that contribute to russia’s military and technical enhancement.
