It has been the 803rd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

During the day of 6 May, there were 87x tactical engagements.

The enemy launched a total of 2x missiles and 69x air strikes, 52x MLRS attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have wounded civilians. Residential apartment blocks and private houses, as well as other infrastructure, got destroyed and damaged.

Volyn and Polissia axes: no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group.

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the adversary maintains its military presence in the russian areas bordering Ukraine. The enemy conducts subversion, continues shelling of Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the concentration of mining operations along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Hremiach (Chernihiv oblast), Oleksiivka, Minakove, Bilopillya (Sumy oblast), Zolochiv (Kharkiv oblast). More than 20x settlements, including Khotiivka (Chernihiv oblast), Velyka Rybytsia, Zapsillia, Mala Rybytsia, Krasnopillia (Sumy oblast), came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Kupiansk and Lyman axes: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 9x attacks in the vicinities of Synkivka, Pishchane (Kharkiv oblast), Stelmakhivka (Luhansk oblast), where the enemy, using air attacks, attempted to improve its tactical position. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10x settlements, including Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Lyman axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 4x attacks in the vicinities of Nevske, Serebrianka forestry (Luhansk oblast), Terny (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10x settlements, including Makiivka, Nevske (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Yampolivka, Torske (Donetsk oblast).

Bakhmut axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 11x attacks in the vicinities of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Verkhnokamians’ke, Vyimka, Rozdolivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy, with air support, attempted to improve its tactical position. The adversary launched air strikes in the vicinity of Druzhba and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast). More than 10x settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Klishchiivka, Chasiv Yar (Donetsk oblast).

Avdiivka axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 22x attacks in the vicinities of Novooleksandrivka, Novopokrovske, Umanske, Yasnobrodivka, Netailove, Nevelske (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy, with air support, made attempts to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions. The adversary launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Prohres, Sokil, Kalynove (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 20x settlements, including Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, Novopokrovske, Umanske (Donetsk oblast).

Novopavlivka axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy near Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka, Vodyane and Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast), where the invaders, using air attacks, made 14x attempts to breach Ukrainian defence. The invaders launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Antonivka (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10x settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Maksymilianivka, Kostiantynivka (Donetsk oblast).

Orikhiv axis: the enemy launched 5x assaults on positions of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinities of Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast) and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Around 20x settlements, including Malynivka, Chervone, Robotyne, Piatykhatky (Zaporizhzhia oblast), were under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

Kherson axis: the enemy does not abandon its intention to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. In particular during the day of 6 May, the invaders, with air support, executed 2x unsuccessful assaults on positions of Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of Krynky (Kherson oblast). The enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Chervonyi Maiak and Ivanivka (Kherson oblast). The occupiers fired artillery and mortars at around 20 settlements, including Lvove, Inzhenerne, Antonivka (Kherson oblast).

During the day of 6 May, the Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 11x concentrations of russian troops, meanwhile the Ukrainian Missile Forces hit 1x enemy artillery system. Ukrainian air defence forces shot down 1x Kh-59 guided air-launched missile.

The Minister of Digital Transformation presented PARASOL, a domestic trench electronic warfare device. Its advantages are that it is invisible to enemy electronic warfare devices and easy to operate: you can learn how to use it in 10-15 minutes. The developer has 2 modifications of this electronic warfare system: one protects positions from russian FPV drones, deactivating them at a distance of 200m, and the other protects equipment from them, it can be installed and connected to the on-board network (drones are also jammed at a distance of 200m).

Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko said that recent massive russian attacks have caused more than $1bn of damage to the Ukrainian energy industry. Thermal and hydroelectric generation facilities, and electricity transmission systems suffered major damage. At the same time, attacks on various types of energy facilities with drones, ballistic missiles or artillery continue on a daily basis.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the russian army stormed the positions of the Ukrainian military on the eastern front 120 times. Most of the attacks were towards Bakhmut and Avdiivka.

Kharkiv oblast

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that the invaders attacked Cherkaski Tyshky and Lyptsi villages in Kharkiv region around 5pm.

About 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast suffered from enemy artillery and mortar attacks: Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Kotliarivka and others. Synkivka, Vesele, Bilyi Kolodiaz, Doroshivka and Kharkiv were hit by airstrikes.

At 2:30am, the invaders shelled Zolochiv, Bohodukhiv region. As a result of the shelling, the following were damaged: the building of the Children’s and Youth Sports School, the village council, the building of the Children’s and Youth School, the House of Culture, the Social Protection Department, the court and 10 private houses. A direct hit destroyed the boiler room of the children’s and youth school and two private houses. A 59-year-old woman sustained shrapnel wounds and contusions.

At 4:10pm, the invaders shelled Kivsharivka village of Kupiansk region. A 79-year-old man was injured as a result of an MRLs attack.

At 3:25pm, the invaders shelled Monachynivka village of Kupiansk region. At least 15 residential buildings were damaged as a result of enemy shelling with KAB bombs. Two men aged 34 and 66 were injured. An 88-year-old woman was killed.

At 2:20pm, the invaders shelled Kharkiv. As a result of the shelling of Shevchenkivskyi and Kyivskyi districts by the UAVs, 14 apartment buildings, 3 cars, a medical facility, a dormitory, an office building, 8 private houses, garages, cafes were damaged, 3 private houses destroyed and 16 people injured.

Yesterday Ukrainian troops repelled 14 attacks towards Kupiansk, especially near Synkivka, Pishchane and Berestove.

According to an analytical report by the US Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the russian military has redeployed some troops to Kursk region and is also forming a grouping of troops for a possible future russian offensive against northeastern Ukraine and Kharkiv. However, russians do not have enough forces to capture a large city.

Combined teams of bomb experts cleared 0.61 hectares of territory and destroyed 74 explosive ordnance.

Volodymyr Tymoshko, Head of Kharkiv police, said that russians launched 9 airstrikes in Kharkiv oblast on 5 May. According to him, russians also used MRLs, artillery and a drone yesterday.

Volodymyr Tymoshko added that for the first time, the police recorded a strike on Kharkiv oblast with a russian FAB-1500 bomb. A residential area was hit in Monachynivka village and as a result, a woman was killed and houses destroyed. He noted that russians usually use 250kg bombs to attack Kharkiv oblast and less often 500kg bombs.

Volodymyr Skichko, Spokesman of Kharkivoblenerho, reported that as of the beginning of May 2024, 60 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were cut off from electricity supply due to shelling or occupation. At the beginning of the de-occupation of the oblast in autumn 2022, about 500 settlements were without electricity.

Donetsk oblast

The press service of Donetsk police informed that 1887 hostile attacks were recorded. The occupation forces shelled 19 settlements: Krasnohorivka, Kurakhove, Mykolaivka, Novohrodivka, Ukrainsk, Chasiv Yar cities, Hostre, Zarichne, Kurakhivka settlements, Veselyi Hai, Halytsynivka, Heorhiivka, Kalynove, Krymske, Mykolaivka, Mykhailivka, Novomarkove, Prohres and Tarasivka villages. 38 civilian objects were damaged.

The russian army attacked Chasiv Yar using Grad multiple rocket launchers, killing one person and injuring another. Four private houses were damaged.

Three civilians were injured in Mykhailivka as a result of an enemy attack.  

Two more civilians were injured in Krasnohorivka and Heorhiivka as a result of artillery shelling.

Also russians attacked Halytsynivka by a D-30SM UMPB bomb. 9 private houses were damaged.

The invaders shelled Mykolaivka by Smerch multiple rocket launchers. An infrastructure facility was damaged.

Police officers from Kostiantynivka helped a shelter where animals from cities destroyed by the invaders live. The dogs and cats are taken care of by a local couple. Currently, they are taking care of more than 80 animals that were left without owners due to the hostilities. Law enforcers bought food and medicine for the animals.

As a result of the shelling of Mykhailivka, police paramedics rescued the injured. The invaders attacked a civilian car by a drone with civilians in it. Three people sustained shrapnel wounds and mine-blast injury, specifically two women aged 49 and 67 and a 68-year-old man.  The police provided medical assistance to the victims and handed them over to the State Emergency Service, which evacuated them to hospital.

According to Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi, the russian army is trying to reach Kurakhove and Pokrovsk.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, yesterday the enemy tried to improve the tactical situation by attacking with the support of aviation near Stelmakhivka. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are repelling every enemy attempt there. The invaders also pressured near Nevske and there was heavy fighting in Bilohorivka. They used various types of weapons to attack Makiivka, Nevske, Stelmakhivka and Kuzemivka. Specifically, russians shelled Makiivka by rocket artillery.

During the week, Luhansk police recorded another destruction of houses in the de-occupied settlements. These are four households in Novoliubivka that have been hit by russians this year.

Many complaints from people come from Novopskov region as there have been daily power cuts for two years in a row, which affects the local population. Often, they are not even warned about it. Unlike the frontline settlements, russians captured these communities quite quickly and there was no damage to infrastructure there.

It is extremely difficult to find a job in Sievierodonetsk. Positions in state-funded organisations were quickly distributed among collaborators and touring workers. The invaders are not restoring the industry. There are vacancies in construction, when they recruit workers for temporary jobs. Most men are already unwilling to go there. Not only because of the threat of being mobilised, but also because of delays or non-payment of the money promised by the contractor.

Roman Vlasenko, Head of Sievierodonetsk Regional State Administration, informed that about 15,000 residents remain in Sievierodonetsk community, and up to 200 people, mostly elderly, remain in Popasna.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

From 6 to 10 May, 2024, military exercises will be held in Darnytskyi district of Kyiv with the participation of units of Kyiv Defense Forces. According to Darnytsia District State Administration, the military manoeuvres will involve personnel, regular equipment and weapons.The purpose of the exercises is to increase combat capabilities during the preparation and conduct of a defence operation.

In Kyiv, sappers neutralised an X-69 missile warhead. A local reported a suspicious object in a forest area.The sappers of the Interregional Rapid Response Center of the State Emergency Service thoroughly examined the area and removed the missile warhead. It was transported to a detonation site.

The concept of the Veteran’s Hut, a future public space where combatants will be able to relax and socialise, was presented in Makariv. The project of the Veteran’s Hut was presented by architects together with representatives of Makariv District Combatants’ Union and Makariv Village Council.

According to Kyiv City Council, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland plans to help restore the capital’s energy infrastructure. The issue was discussed during a meeting with Rodney Berkeley, Director of the UK Department of Business and Trade.

On 6 May, the Ukrainian volunteer and soldier Eduard Khatmullin was commemorated in the capital. He served in the Santa volunteer unit and performed missions towards Donetsk and Kharkiv.

Educational security officers will work in 94 other schools in Kyiv oblast. The project was launched in 2024 in general secondary education institutions.So far, police officers who have undergone special training and selection have been working in 9 Kyiv oblast educational institutions.

Over the weekend, Kyiv hosted a Running for Azov charity race, dedicated to the memory of the fallen Azov soldiers and captured defenders of Mariupol. More than a thousand people have registered for the race, held at VDNKh, including military personnel on rotation. According to the organisers, it was a race of solidarity with Azov soldiers and prisoners of war to draw public attention and raise funds to support the unit.

Zhytomyr oblast

The 143rd separate battalion of the 115th brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces, performing a combat mission towards Kupiansk, received the necessary machinery and equipment worth more than UAH 5m from Korosten community. This equipment will help destroy the enemy and protect our soldiers’ lives.

According to the State Emergency Service, students of Romanivka Lyceum were trained in safe behaviour in a mobile classroom. At the scientific and educational event, the students studied models of explosive devices and tried on sapper’s protective gear. The practical part of the event allowed students to acquire specific skills in mine safety and life saving.

Sumy oblast

According to the RMA, on the night of 6 May the enemy launched airstrikes on the energy system of Sumy oblast. The invaders attacked from the north with 13 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs. 12 UAVs were shot down by AFU air defence units.

According to Ukrenerho, a high-voltage facility in Sumy oblast was damaged during the late-night shelling. More than 400 thousand consumers were cut off from electricity as a result of the attack. Thanks to the coordinated and professional actions of emergency services and power engineers, power supply was restored in the affected areas and partially in Sumy at night. As of 7am, 91 settlements with 41,500 residents were left without electricity.

Based on the RMA report, Khotin, Bilopillia and Esman communities were under russian shelling at night. A total of 24 explosions were recorded. In addition to the group of the Shahed 136 UAVs’ attack, the enemy fired 11 mortar attacks and 5 grenade launchers at the area.

Yesterday russians fired 8 times in Sumy oblast, with a total of 22 explosions recorded. Khotin, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka and Esman communities were shelled. The enemy attacked using artillery, mortars and FPV drones.

The State Emergency Service reported that over the past week, oblast bomb squads destroyed 36 pieces of ammunition found in Sumy, Okhtyrka, Konotop and Shostka regions. In total, 386 explosive devices have been found in Sumy oblast since the beginning of the year.

The Mediabase.Sumy announced that during power outages, journalists can work in the IMI hub in Sumy from 9am to 6pm. The space has internet, a generator, tea or coffee. One can also take power banks and other necessary equipment there.

Chernihiv oblast

Yesterday russian troops fired 10 times at Chernihiv oblast border. According to the State Border Guard Service, a total of 42 explosions were recorded. Three communities were under hostile attack. The terrorists fired 4 rocket launchers and one mortar attack on the Novhorod-Siverskyi community, 15 attacks with cannon artillery and mortars on Semenivka and 22 mortar attacks on Snovsk.

The other day, Chernihiv detachment border guards performing tasks to defend and deter russian armed aggression in the border areas, landed an enemy FPV kamikaze drone. It did not reach the target and was neutralised.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the RMA, reported that over the past week, the enemy fired 57 times at 13 settlements in Chernihiv oblast and 333 explosions were recorded during these attacks. Among the attacks from various weapons, the enemy launched 1 missile attack using an Iskander-M missile, 14 – air strikes, 8 – FPV drones. The shelling led to a fire in civilian infrastructure.

The Northern border State Border Guard Service reported that border guards had completed a combat training course in the French Republic. Under the program, the servicemen learned to act alone, in small groups and as part of a unit while performing tasks in wooded areas and urban areas. Snipers and UAV operators were trained separately. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

The occupiers launched a kamikaze drone at Marhanets community in the evening, two more drones hitting Chervonohryhorivka community during the night. There were no casualties, but a power line was damaged in the attack. 

The RMA reported that air defence destroyed a missile in Synelnykove region. 

Myrove community was attacked in the morning, while Nikopol was attacked in the afternoon. A power line was hit in the region’s centre. During the day, the enemy sent 5 kamikaze drones to Nikopol region, with no casualties.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov reported that Vinnytsia residents sent more aid to the National Guard of Ukraine: 60 FPV drones, 6 Mavic 3Ts and 3 pickups. FPV drones and Mavic drones will be sent to the frontline. 

 

Viktor Slobodianiuk, State Coach of the Ukrainian  Weightlifting Team, announced that Oleksandr Peleshenko, 2-time European weightlifting champion, was killed in the war against russia. Oleksandr Peleshenko won gold medals at the European Weightlifting Championships in 2016 and 2017. In 2016, he also came one step away from a medal at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics (fourth place). Oleksandr was killed on Sunday, 5 May, while performing combat operations. The weightlifter joined the Ukrainian army in 2022. 

Kirovohrad oblast

The RMA reported that a man who was seriously wounded after a rocket attack in Kropyvnytskyi region on 3 May, died in hospital today, on 6 May. 

Andrii Raikovych, Head of RMA, reported that sunflower seeds were sent from the communities of the oblast to small farms of Kherson oblast affected by the russian occupation. This grain will be sown on almost 600 hectares of de-mined fields in areas affected by the war. 

Poltava oblast

Filip Pronin, Head of Poltava RMA, reported that due to the enemy drone attack a private house in Myrhorod region was partially damaged.

Cherkasy oblast

According to Uman City Council, at Uman sponsors’ expense was purchased a vehicle electronic warfare device against FPV drones for the 5th Separate Assault Brigade, which is located in Donetsk sector.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday the occupiers attacked Zaporizhzhia oblast 402 times. 11 settlements were under enemy shelling. The enemy launched an airstrike on Mala Tokmachka. 179 UAVs attacked Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Novoandriivka, Piatykhatky and Stepove. 9 MLRS strikes hit Mala Tokmachka, Levadne and Robotyne. There were 213 artillery strikes on Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Novodarivka, Robotyne, Levadne, Verbove and Malynivka.

The occupiers carried out 6 assaults towards Orikhiv. Three of them were in the area of Robotyne.

Preparation for conscription into military service is underway in the occupied territories. According to Ivan Fedorov, the head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, all infrastructure has already been established, including military enlistment offices, conscription centres, and even conscription desks at every enterprise. The official conscription plan is for over 150,000 people.

Mykolaiv oblast

Yesterday, 5 May, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community by Lancet kamikaze drone. Additionally, the enemy shelled the waters of Ochakiv community and the territory of Kutsurub community with artillery.

Odesa oblast

According to the Ukrainian Naval Forces, enemy ships are absent in the Black, Azov and Mediterranean Seas. Yesterday, one vessel passed through the Kerch Strait into the Black Sea, but it did not continue towards the Bosporus Strait.

The MarineTraffic portal reported that today there are 13 vessels waiting for loading in the ports of Odesa, 17 in Chornomorsk and 7 in Pivdennyi port. Six vessels are heading towards port entry, while five are heading out.

Kherson oblast

Yesterday, the russian army shelled Prydniprovske, Inzhenerne, Sadove, Antonivka, Vesele, Beryslav, Kachkarivka, Shliakhove, Kizomys, Lvove, Veletenske, Dniprovske, Ivanivka, Chervonyi Maiak, Zmiivka and the city of Kherson. According to Police of Kherson oblast, 19 objects were damaged, including six private and five multi-storey buildings, a car, a garage, and an outbuilding. One person was injured due to russian aggression.

A volunteer was injured due to the russian shelling of Kherson oblast. He was attacked near the village of Lvove. This morning, he went to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with blast trauma and a fragment wound to the shoulder.

It is reported that the enemy attempted three unsuccessful assaults  on the left bank of the temporarily occupied Dnipro River. Having suffered losses, they withdrew to their original positions.

The Southern defence forces destroyed 144 occupiers and 64 units of weapons and military equipment. Additionally, an observation post and a field depot of technical equipment were destroyed.

Last week, four children were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson oblast. Among them were a 16-year-old boy and his family, an 11-year-old girl who was left unattended by adults and was at risk of ending up in an occupied orphanage, and two boys aged 9 and 13, who were looked after by their adult brother. Since the beginning of the year, 67 children have been successfully returned from the temporarily occupied communities of Kherson oblast to the territory controlled by Ukraine.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

From 1 April to 6 May, 368 IDPs arrived in the region in search of shelter. A total of 79,681 IDPs came to Volyn oblast. Currently, 45,453 people have the status of IDPs. This amounts to 32,851 families, in which 12,431 are children, 2,189 persons with disabilities, 6,753 pensioners, 87 families with many children and 16 families of single parents.

Zakarpattia oblast

A shelter for IDPs will soon appear in the village of Pylypets. After the repair is completed, 24 people will be able to live in the cell. Living quarters are arranged on the second floor, and the primary school is on the first floor. The project is being worked on together with the community and the People in Trouble organisation.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Since the beginning of the year in Donetsk oblast, the Carpathian pyrotechnicians have examined over a thousand hectares, discovered and neutralised 316 units of explosive objects. A total of 8 rotations took place, and the additional build-up of forces and means of pyrotechnic calculations is ongoing in order to clear the territory of enemy explosives. To date, three pyrotechnic units consisting of 15 employees of the regional emergency services and 6 units of equipment, as well as one medical unit, have been involved in carrying out dangerous works in Donetsk oblast. Since the beginning of the rotation, they have examined about 10 hectares of territory, discovered and neutralised 105 explosive objects.

Lviv oblast

In April 2024, Lviv sent 1,755 drones and UAVs, 30 EcoFlow, 7 EW-systems, etc. worth UAH 71m  to defenders thanks to the Lion’s Revenge initiative. In the first four months of 2024 (from January to April inclusive), Lviv supported the army for UAH 266m. In general, in the budget of Lviv community for 2024, UAH 1bn is provided only for the purchase of equipment and necessary means for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On the eve of the Easter holidays, the People’s House of Chervonohrad organised a charity collection and purchase of a DJI Mavic 3 quadcopter to the 110th Separate Mechanised Brigade. In total, they raised UAH 46,570.

Croatian soldiers teach Ukrainian veterans to relieve themselves mentally thanks to diving and water sports within the framework of the joint project of Ukraine and Croatia Resocialization of Ukrainian Veterans: Peer-to-Peer. From 7 to 14 May, the 2nd stage of the project will take place in Lviv oblast and 16 Ukrainian veterans will take part in it.

Volodymyr Kit, serviceman of the 71st Separate Hunting Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops, from Yavoriv community was awarded with the Cross of the Brave award. Recently, during one of the numerous combat operations, the enemy made an attempt to rotate personnel. But Volodymyr, using the MK-19 grenade launcher, interrupted the enemy’s plans in time and eliminated the enemy infantry group. For bravery and courage shown in battle, the serviceman was awarded the medal by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Rivne oblast

Petro Skrypka, former fighter of the 3rd Assault Brigade, walked from Lutsk to Rivne in 4 days for the sake of the Armed Forces. Ternopil oblast

7 Ternopil soldiers will receive financial assistance in the amount of UAH 10,000 for the treatment and rehabilitation they need after being wounded. This decision was made at a meeting of the executive committee. In total, 28 military personnel from Ternopil have already received such assistance.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi community sent 100 FPV drones worth UAH 1.25m to the Defense Forces. Since the beginning of 2024, the community has already sent 2,100 FPV drones of various modifications to the military, purchased at the expense of taxpayers.

Chernivtsi oblast

Hlyboka community decided to provide free meals to 403 children of military personnel. The community allocated funds for the installation of monuments and memorial signs to commemorate the feat of those who gave their lives for Ukraine. In addition, the community allocated funds for the treatment of a serviceman.

The Rheinmetall German company will send to Ukraine the latest 155-mm artillery shells capable of hitting targets at a distance of 100km. It should be noted that the most modern 155-mm artillery ammunition previously supplied to Ukraine was the Vulcano series ammunition with a maximum range of 70 km. Rheinmetall was also informed that during 2024, Ukraine will receive hundreds of thousands of artillery shells.

Croatian soldiers teach Ukrainian veterans to relieve themselves mentally thanks to diving and water sports within the framework of the joint project of Ukraine and Croatia Resocialization of Ukrainian Veterans: Peer-to-Peer. From 7 to 14 May, the 2nd stage of the project will take place in Lviv oblast and 16 Ukrainian veterans will take part in it.

Martin Jager, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Germany to Ukraine, announced that his country will help partially repair the Karazin University, support Kharkiv oblast in restoring the energy capacities of the CHP and substations, and also help prepare the housing and communal services facilities of the oblast for winter.

Antti Giakkinen, Finnish Defense Minister, announced that Finland plans to urgently build a factory for the production of TNT against the background of shortages due to the war in Ukraine.

Olaf Scholz, German Chancellor, called on the European allies to give Ukraine air defence systems from existing stocks, because there is no time to wait for the production of new ones. He reminded that Berlin is handing over the third Patriot air defence system to Kyiv.

Viola Amherd, President of Switzerland, reported that her country invited the Pope to the Ukrainian peace summit.
