What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian army carried out 1 missile and 31 aviation strikes, conducting 45 barrages from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Due to the russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged.

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile and aviation strikes. 30 clashes occurred. 

Towards, Volyn and Polissia, the operational situation remains relatively unchanged.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army conducted aviation strikes in the areas near Chervona Zoria and Veterynarne, Kharkiv region. They carried out mortar and artillery shelling on more than 20 populated areas, including Yeline, Leonivka, Vylchyky, Mykolaivka in the Chernihiv region; Rozhkovychi, Iskryskivshchyna, Turia, Pokrovka, Ryasne in Sumy region; and Chervona Zoria, Hatyshche, Vovchanski Khutory, Budarky in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the russian army conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Synkivka, Kharkiv oblast. They carried out aviation strikes in the regions of Kyslivka and Berestove, Kharkiv oblast. Population centers such as Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Masiutivka, Kyslivka, and Berestove, Kharkiv oblast were subjected to russian artillery and mortar shelling.

Towards Lyman russian troops carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast. They conducted aviation strikes in the regions of Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast, and Spirne, Donetsk oblast. Around 10 populated areas were targeted by Russian artillery shelling, including Nevske, Chervonopopivka in Luhansk oblast, and Verkhniokamianske, Sviato-Pokrovske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, the russian army conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area northeast of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Donetsk oblast. They carried out aviation strikes in the regions of Klischiivka and Andriivka, Donetsk oblast. Over 15 populated areas, including Minkivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, and Shcherbynivka, Donetsk oblast, were affected by russian artillery shelling.

Towards Avdiivka, russian soldiers conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area southeast and east of Novokalynove, Donetsk oblast. Over 10 populated areas, including Keramik, Stepove, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Netaylove, Donetsk oblast, were shelled from artillery.

Towards Mariinka, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold back the russian troops’ advance in the regions of Marinka and Krasnohorivka, Donetsk oblast. The russian army carried out an aviation strike in the area of Krasnohorivka, Donetsk oblast. Populated areas like Krasnohorivka, Pobeda, Kostiantynivka, Halytsynivka, Katerynivka in Donetsk oblast were subjected to artillery shelling.

Towards Shakhtarsk, russian troops attempted unsuccessfully to regain lost ground in Urozhaine area, Donetsk oblast. They conducted an aviation strike in the area of Staromykhailivka. Over 10 populated areas, including Vodiane, Bohoyavlenka, Zolota Nyva, Blahodatne, Staromykhailivka, Rivnopil in Donetsk oblast, were affected by russian artillery shelling.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the russian army carried out an aviation strike in Robotyne area, Zaporizhzhia oblast. Over 15 populated areas, including Novodarivka, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Charivne, Mali Shcherbaky, Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia oblast, were shelled from russian artillery.

Towards Kherson, over 10 populated areas, including Zolota Balka, Respublikanets, Odradokamianka, Veletenske, Novodmytrivka, Sofiivka in the Kherson region, and Lupareve in Mykolaiv region, were affected by russian artillery shelling.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operation towards Melitopol and Berdiansk, consolidating their positions at achieved lines and implementing counter-battery measures.

The aviation of the Ukrainian army conducted 9 strikes on areas where the russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment were concentrated.


The units of rocket troops and artillery targeted 2 areas of buildup of russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment, as well as destroyed 4 artillery systems in firing positions and 2 command posts.According to the Center of Resistance, russia deported 450 children from the temporarily occupied territory. Among them, 50 high school students were taken to Yaroslavl, 200 children from Dovzhansk to Anapa, 150 children from Kherson region and 50 from Zaporizhzhia region to Krasnodar camps for “rehabilitation”.

The President signed bills 9467 and 9468 on exemption of military monoculars, rangefinders and anti-drone guns from VAT and customs duties.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Serhii Cherevatyi, Spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that russian troops launched over a thousand artillery attacks on Ukrainian positions in the east on two frontlines.

The enemy conducted 8 assaults, 6 of which were near Synkivka, one in Bilohorivka and Vesele. Moreover, the russians shelled with artillery 503 times and conducted 10 air raids. Ukrainian soldiers eliminated 16 invaders and injured 72. Ukrainian forces destroyed a tank, an armoured personnel carrier, a Tulip mortar, two cannons, four ammunition depots and a surveillance complex. Ukrainian troops also shot down two repair vehicles and two Tiger armoured vehicles, an Orlan-10 UAV, two trucks and destroyed a dugout.

Kharkiv oblast

Serhii Cherevatyi, Spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, informed that towards Kupiansk, russian invaders continued their attempts for an offensive near Synkivka. They were repelled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and retreated with losses.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that measures are being taken to evacuate civilians from the communities of Kupiansk region close to the frontline. Yesterday, 43 people, including 4 children, 26 women and 5 people with disabilities, were evacuated. A total of 526 people, including 143 children, have been evacuated since 9 August.

Yesterday settlements of Chuhuiv and Kupiansk regions suffered from hostile shelling.

As a result of shelling in Kupiansk, a private building and outbuildings were destroyed and fires broke out. A 61-year-old woman was killed. A 60-year-old woman was injured. She received medical aid on the spot and did not need hospitalisation. In Vovchansk city and Vovchanski Khutory village, the shelling damaged private residential buildings.

Okhrymivka, Budarky, Stroivka, Dvorichna, Kucherivka, Kurylivka and other settlements were also targeted.

Mine clearance is ongoing. Yesterday pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined more than 3.9 hectares of territory and defused 81 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

Serhii Cherevatyi, Spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that around Bakhmut, the occupation forces launched 560 artillery strikes, 3 air raids and 9 engagements yesterday. The Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated 55 invaders and injured 106.

Towards Volnovakha, russians shelled Vuhledar 24 times, without any casualties.

Towards Donetsk, 2 people were injured in Katerynivka of Marinka community. In the evening, the enemy attacked two streets in Avdiivka. They also shelled Hostre of Kurakhove community with artillery.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was killed in Bohdanivka of Chasiv Yar community. In Toretsk community, 14 buildings were damaged, including an administrative building in Pivnichne and 1 building in Druzhba. In Kostiantynivka, 3 buildings, an outbuilding and a power line were damaged.

Towards Lysychansk, 2 buildings in Siversk were damaged and there were 3 attacks on Lyman community.

Vitalii Barabash, Head of Avdiivka City Military Administration, reported about eight massive attacks.

Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman of Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, told on Suspilne that yesterday russian troops shelled Kostiantynivka for almost an hour. Also russian troops launched eight shells at the city, probably from Smerch multiple rocket launchers. Preliminary, there were no casualties. The facades of private buildings, a garage and the power grid were damaged.

Russians killed 1 civilian and injured 2 more.

Oleksandra Havrylko, Head of the Communications Department of the Main Police Department in Donetsk oblast, informed that all children have been evacuated from Torske village.

Forests around Sloviansk will be restored in autumn for the first time since the full-scale invasion. According to the Eastern Forestry Office, 500 hectares have been cleared of mines so far and the forestry plans to plant more than 180K young trees on fifty hectares.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the enemy continues to find weaknesses in our defences, testing their strength in different areas. The enemy is more often using Storm Zed units, which are trained for combat operations within just a few days. Yesterday russians tried to advance on Bilohorivk, but were forced to leave these intentions under the pressure of our soldiers. There, as well as along the entire frontline, Ukrainian troops have built up a echelon defence. Nadiia, Nevske, Dibrova and Bilohorivka were under enemy artillery and mortar attacks. The latter was attacked by the enemy from the air.

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that the occupation authorities have set a task to passport all teenagers aged 14 to 18 by 1 October. Children are offered free holidays if they get a russian passport and threatened not to be allowed to study and parents are threatened with the termination of social benefits. Observers from moscow have already arrived in the so-called “LPR” to check the perfomance of compulsory measures. A commission has been sent to each administrative-territorial unit to look for teenagers without passports. House-to-house visits are being made.

Meanwhile, in Novopskov region, the invaders have started blackmailing the population who are unable to pay for utilities on time. Specifically, they started disconnecting electricity supply for a debt of only 200 kWh. This applies even to pensioners and low-income people in case of delays in the payment of pensions and other social benefits. For reconnection, the customer has to pay more than two thousand rubles.

Also russians are bringing propagandists, organisers and observers to organise “elections” in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk oblast. After the failed “referendum”, which was ignored by the majority of the region’s residents, the invaders are trying to show better results.

Towards Luhansk, the 45th Separate Artillery Brigade and the 100th Separate Territorial Defence Brigade discovered and destroyed an enemy anti-aircraft system on Ural chassis.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Kyiv RMA reported that Director General of the World Trade Organization Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala visited Kyiv oblast. The members of the delegation visited Irpin at the Romanivsky Bridge and the car cemetery, and saw how the reconstruction of houses destroyed by the russians in the private sector and high-rise buildings in a residential complex is in progress.

In Kyiv, representatives of the embassies took part in a round table and discussed the impact of the undermining of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station by russian troops on the Black Sea region, the environmental consequences and the possibilities of their elimination. The event took place on the initiative of the All-Ukrainian Organization of War Disabled Persons, Armed Forces and Combatants.

Kyiv RMA reported that the agrarians of the oblast received more than UAH 8 billion in loans for the development of farms. As part of the state support programs, 727 agricultural producers of the oblast have taken advantage of this opportunity since the beginning of the year.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported that the reconstruction of the family medicine dispensary in the village of Zagaltsi, Bucha region, which was damaged by a russian shell at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation, was completed. The institution was restored thanks to the project of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the help of international benefactors.

The map of shelters has been updated in the capital – it is available on a specially created official website and in the “Kyiv Digital” application. As reported in the Department of Municipal Security of the KCSA, the information on the resources is clarified and updated every week. The map of shelters in the “Kyiv Digital” application has been available offline (without an Internet connection) since June.

The “Veterans’ Rights” project, aimed at solving legal issues faced by veterans and military personnel, was presented in Kyiv. The presentation took place at a press conference in Ukrinform. The opening of the annual meeting of volunteers of the rapid response units of the Ukrainian Red Cross was held in Kyiv oblast. As part of the event, volunteers undergo various trainings – on team building, providing assistance to victims of an explosion, providing psychological first aid, and mine safety training.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr RMA reported that as part of the “Side by Side” project, builders from Zhytomyr restored 21 houses in the village of Trifonivka in Kherson oblast. As part of the pilot project, 15 regions of Ukraine united to restore more than 3,500 objects in 26 settlements of the Kherson oblast, which were the most affected by russian aggression.

The name of the fallen Hero of Ukraine from Zhytomyr oblast, Andriy Verhoglyad, was assigned to the Senkiv Lyceum of Boryspil City Council in Kyiv oblast. The commander of the battalion of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade named after the Black Zaporozhets, Lt. Col. Andrii “Livsha” Verhohliad fought for Ukraine since 2016, was wounded several times, but returned to the front every time. On June 22, 2022, 27-year-old Andriy Verkhoglyad died in battle on the Svitlodar arc.

Sumy oblast

Sumy RMA reported that the enemy carried out 23 shelling of the border, 138 explosions were recorded. Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Velika Pysarivka, Seredina-Buda, Svesa, Nova Sloboda communities were under enemy shelling. As a result of shelling, houses, a garage, non-residential buildings, two shops, a car, a gas pipeline, and a power line were destroyed on the territory of the Krasnopillia community. The enemy fired grenade launchers, mortars, anti-tank guns and launched two airstrikes with non-guided rockets.

Sumy RMA reported that at night and in the morning, the enemy carried out two attacks of Seredina-Buda community. There are no casualties and destruction of civil infrastructure.

Volunteers of the Okhtyrka branch of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine visited the village of Khukhra and brought humanitarian aid to local residents. They also organized an event for children, talked about the rules of handling explosive objects and providing first aid.

Chernihiv oblast

The SBGS reported that the russians shelled the border of Chernihiv oblast 8 times from their territory. The Novhorod-Siverskyi, Snovsk and Semenivka communities came under shelling. A total of 49 hits from mortars and barrel artillery were recorded.

The General Prosecutor’s Office reported that military officer of the russian federation Eziza Akiniyazov was charged in Chernihiv oblast with cruelty to the civilian population and violation of the laws and customs of war. The suspect, together with other soldiers of the russian federation, detained a civilian in the village of Sloboda, Chernihiv region, and, in order to obtain information, illegally detained him in improper conditions, caused bodily harm to the victim and did not provide medical assistance.

The “Ukraine” hotel, destroyed on March 11, 2022 due to a russian missile strike, is being dismantled in Chernihiv. The Executive Committee of the Chernihiv City Council granted permission to the representatives of the destroyed hotel to dismantle and reconstruct the building.

In the center of Nizhyn, they plan to build a memorial in honor of those who died in the war with russia by the beginning of October. In the center of the composition will be a statue of Oleksandr Matsievsky, a resident of Nizhny Novhorod, who was shot by the russian military for the slogan “Glory to Ukraine”. Funds for the construction of the memorial will be provided by benefactors.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, the enemy shelled Nikopol with artillery, firing about a dozen shells. 

According to Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, two more systems have started working in Hleiavatka community of Kryvyi Rih region and in the Tomakivka community in Nikopol region. In total, more than 20,000 people live there. They will be able to receive high-quality drinking water. In the Hleiavatka community, the local gymnasium was connected to the station. Currently, 10 treatment plants out of 20 planned are already in operation in the region. All of them are being delivered to the communities of Kryvyi Rih and Nikopol regions that suffered from the russian terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​UNICEF has donated more than three thousand backpacks with school supplies to schoolchildren in Vinnytsia and the oblast. The backpacks will be distributed over the next two weeks to students of certain categories.

13 Vinnytsia rescuers took international courses in pre-hospital trauma care. During two days of intensive training under the International Trauma Life Support course, the rescuers learned how to distinguish between injuries, carry out a quick local and trauma examination of victims, including injuries to the head, spine, limbs, chest, abdomen, etc. 

Poltava oblast

According to Dmytro Lunin, Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, we have delivered a four-wheel drive off-road vehicle for military medics at the front.  Ukraine received such vehicles from international partners. This vehicle will be used to evacuate the wounded and transport them to places of medical care.

Cherkasy oblast

SES units delivered 37.5 tonnes of technical water for the needs of the population. In addition,  3 tonnes of water was also delivered for the needs of the hospital, and 4 tonnes for the haemodialysis department. In total, the rescuers delivered more than 100 tonnes of industrial water after the rocket attack.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Cherkasy oblast reported that a safety class was opened in the Yurkiv Lyceum of the Palanka community. This is the 12th such space created in the Uman region. The room is equipped with everything needed to teach children how to act in various emergency situations. Using visual materials, schoolchildren will be able to get acquainted with samples of explosive items and rescue equipment. 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, russian military personnel conducted 79 strikes in 20 settlements of Zaporizhzhia oblast.  64 artillery attacks targeted areas including Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Malynivka, Poltavka, Zatyshshia, Kamianske, Plavni, Stepove, and other frontline villages. There were six air strikes on Komyshuvakha, Orikhiv, and Mala Tokmachka. Additionally, five rocket artillery strikes were recorded in Novodarivka, and four UAV attacks targeted Zaliznychne, Charivne, and Piatyhatky. Reports of destruction to residential buildings, agricultural structures, and infrastructure objects have come in, totaling 22 incidents.

During the night, the enemy shelled Komyshuvakha with two guided aviation bombs. The primary school building at the “Dzherelo” Gymnasium was destroyed. The blast wave and debris caused damage to adjacent residential buildings, including shattered facades and broken windows. Local residents were not harmed.

Today, explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied city of Melitopol. Local residents reported hearing explosions in one of the city’s neighborhoods. Details are being investigated.

A local collaborator named Ievhen Balytskyi recorded a video about recruiting for the “People’s Militia.” in the temporarily occupied Melitopol. In the video, “local residents” expressed interest in joining their ranks. However, these individuals turned out to be “migrant workers” from Crimea, most of whom are burdened with debts.

Mykolaiv oblast

Yesterday, two reconnaissance UAVs “Merlin-VR” were destroyed in Mykolaiv region by the air defense forces of the “South” air command.

Yesterday at 09:05, 10:27, 12:02, and 13:52, the enemy conducted artillery shelling in the waters of Ochakiv community. No casualties were reported. Additionally, yesterday at 12:39 and 15:06, enemy artillery shelling was recorded in the territory of the settlement of Kutsurub community.

As of August 18, the enemy is relocating equipment and supplies to the south, including towards the Kinburn Spit. This is related to the restriction on the movement of the civilian population from Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts towards the peninsula. Natalia Humeniuk, the head of the Unified Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces “South,” provided this information.

A memorial plaque was unveiled at the Mykolaiv Zoo in honor of Dmytro Rieznik and Pavlo Shevchenko, employees who lost their lives during combat actions. The event was attended by relatives, colleagues, and friends of the servicemen.

Odesa oblast

The civilian container ship Joseph Schulte, which was the first to use the temporary maritime corridor from Odesa, has arrived in Istanbul. The ship was the first to utilize the Ukrainian Black Sea corridor passing through the Turkish Bosporus Strait.

Customs officials in Odesa handed over eight boats of the “Progres” and “Iuzhanka” types to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These boats were confiscated from individuals who were illegally transporting cigarettes across the border. This information was reported by the Odesa Customs.

Starting from September 1, over 90% of schools in Odesa will operate in a blended format—both in-person and remote learning. Around 25K students will be studying under this approach. Preparatory work is ongoing in schools. Institutions equipped with shelters will commence classes from September 1. Parents can choose between in-person or remote learning for their children. School schedules will be designed by school administrators based on the number of students willing to attend in person and the capacity of the shelters.

On August 17, the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs signed a memorandum of cooperation and partnership with the NATO Information and Documentation Center. The purpose of the memorandum is to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the parties, focused on implementing Ukraine’s state policy in the sphere of European and Euro-Atlantic integration. This includes joint informational, educational, and scientific events and projects.

Kherson oblast

Today during the day, russian forces dropped an explosive device from a drone near a house in Beryslav. Two local residents who were outside were wounded.

Yesterday, the enemy conducted 48 shelling incidents, firing 207 projectiles from mortars, artillery, tanks, “Grad” launchers, and UAVs. The settlements in Beryslav and Kherson regions on the left bank of the Dnipro River came under attack from the russian army. Buildings and vehicles were damaged by enemy shells in Poniativka, Sadove, Stepanivka, Komyshany, and Antonivka. Residential buildings were damaged, power lines were disrupted, and domestic animals were injured in Tomyn Balka. russian troops indiscriminately shelled Kherson, with the central, Dnipro, and Korabelny districts being targeted by the enemy. The city saw damage to apartment complexes, private residences, shops, offices, medical facilities, and a children’s creative center. There have been no reported casualties or injuries among the civilian population. The police initiated 20 criminal investigations related to war crimes committed by russian military personnel in Kherson oblast.

Russian occupiers established a so-called “initiative group of parents” in the temporarily occupied settlement of Pershopokrovka composed of local residents with pro-russian views. These collaborators are pressuring local school teachers to start education for around a hundred children from Pershopokrovka and neighboring settlements based on the russian school curriculum

A farmer from Novooleksandrivka community donated watermelons to the frontline soldiers. He grew this harvest as a gesture of gratitude to the military personnel who allowed him to cultivate hectares of free Ukrainian land. Volunteers on their way to the frontline will deliver these watermelons to the soldiers.

Volyn oblast

Yurii Pohulyajko, Head of Volyn RMA, announced 6 off-road vehicles were sent from Volyn to the front line thanks to the Kindness CF.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA reported the 33rd Zakarpattia Separate Mechanized Brigade received a mobile bath and laundry complex and Starlink satellite communication systems.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA held a meeting regarding the participation of Carpathian specialists in the pilot project of social rehabilitation of servicemen and their family members. They discussed formation of a multidisciplinary team of Carpathian specialists for the project, which will include psychologists, social work specialists and social pedagogues.

Over 17K IDPs live in Kalush region. In total, over 32K people who left their homes because of the war were accommodated here. There are seven shelters for IDPs with 226 places in the region, in which 178 IDPs live. Utilities and accommodation here are free.

Lviv oblast

Murovan community together with the Caritas Lviv UGCC CF provided 120 food kits to lonely senior citizens, family members of the dead, missing and injured due to the war, as well as people with disabilities.

In Skhidnytsia on Resort Day, UAH 32K were collected to purchase a pickup truck for the 112th brigade of the 3rd assault unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The championship of Lviv oblast in road cycling was held in Drohobych region. Over 100 cyclists took part. During the competition, UAH 25K were collected for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Axios children’s choir of the People’s House of the village of Zhovtansi sang the Liturgy in the Church of the Exaltation of the Honest and Life-giving Cross of the OCU of the village of Velike Kolodno. During the Sunday service, UAH 25K of donations were collected for the Armed Forces

A charity concert was held in Chervonohrad region, organized by the Tbteam Sokal youth community, which operates under the Caritas-Sokal CF. Almost UAH 30K collected will be sent to the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo.

Rivne oblast

Rivne continues to play the role of a logistics hub. This time, 22 fire and medical vehicles came from volunteers from the US.

Ternopil oblast

From the oblast, 3 combat drones were handed over to the soldiers of Ternopil special unit of the Security Service of Ukraine. Drones were manufactured at the relocated enterprise and purchased with donations from employees of Ternopiloblhaz.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that another mobile service station for the military was sent from Khmelnytskyi.

A new center for 30 IDPs has opened in the village Solobkivtsi thanks to benefactors and international donors.

Chernivtsi oblast

The Bukovyna military units of the National Guard, the State Border Service and the Territorial Defense received 6 quadcopters. Over a year and a half, the region purchased network equipment, video surveillance devices, quadcopters, night vision devices, navigators, and charging stations for UAH 42 mln with the funds of the state budget and the budgets of territorial communities.

In Chernivtsi, the VILNA hub held a meeting to coordinate work in the field of prevention and countermeasures against domestic violence. The event was conducted by representatives of UNFPA Ukraine.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The Ministry of Defense of Great Britain concluded 3 contracts worth $115 mln for the supply of air defense equipment to Ukraine. The agreements concern anti-drone systems, CORTEX Typhon and air defense. The deals were made as part of the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU), which has so far raised more than £770 mln in military support for Ukraine.

The Reuters agency with reference to an anonymous American official reported that the US approved the sending of F-16 fighters to Ukraine from Denmark and the Netherlands. Planes will be sent to Ukraine after training Ukrainian pilots.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands also confirmed that the US approved the delivery of F-16 multi-purpose fighter jets to Ukraine. “We welcome Washington’s decision to pave the way for sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. Many thanks to Anthony Blinken for fruitful and prompt cooperation. Now we will continue to discuss this topic with our European partners,” noted Wopke Hoekstra, Deputy Prime Minister.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, held a meeting with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organization, who is visiting Ukraine. The key topic of the meeting was protection of free trade, in particular in Black Sea region, which was under threat due to russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskii, President of Ukraine, during a solemn ceremony held in the Sofia of Kyivska National Reserve, accepted credentials of the newly appointed ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary: Eileen Hoo of the Republic of Chile, Assad Jose Hatera Pena of the Republic of Colombia, Hubert Wieland Conroy of the Republic of Peru, Martin Jaeger of Federal Republic of Germany, Martin Oberg of the Kingdom of Sweden and Arif Muhammed Basalami of the Republic of Indonesia.
