It has been the 779th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On 12 April , there were 81x tactical engagements. 

The enemy launched a total of 2 missile and 72 air strikes, 116 MLRS attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have killed and wounded civilians. Residential apartment blocks and private houses, as well as other infrastructure, got destroyed and damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of an offensive group formed were found. 

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian military maintains its presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. The enemy conducts subversion, continues shelling of Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the concentration of mining operations along the state border of Ukraine. The adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Sumy (Sumy oblast), Lyptsi, Vovchansk (Kharkiv oblast). More than 20 settlements, including Plokhiv, Yanzhulivka, Semenivka (Chernihiv oblast), Vorozhba, Marchykhyna Buda, Yastrubyne (Sumy oblast), Kozacha Lopan, Strilecha, and Zemlyanky (Kharkiv oblast) came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kupiansk, the russian army conducted no offensives. However, the enemy launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi and Kurylivka (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 15 settlements, including Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Kyslivka (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the russian army did not conduct offensive operations. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Makiivka, Nevske (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Yampolivka, Torske, and Zarichne (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 24 attacks in the vicinities of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Vyimka, Rozdolivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka (Donetsk oblast), where the adversary, using air strikes, attempted to improve its tactical position. The enemy launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Druzhba (Donetsk oblast). More than 10x settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Hryhorivka, Kalynivka, and Chasiv Yar (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 attacks in the vicinities of Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Pervomaiske, and Netailove (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy made attempts to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, Semenivka, and Netailove (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Novopavlivka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to block the enemy near Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Kostiantynivka, and Vodiane (Donetsk oblast), where the invaders made 19 attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka, Kostyantynivka, and Vuhledar (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy, with air support, launched 3 attacks on positions of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast). The invaders launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Vremivka (Donetsk oblast) and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Around 20 settlements, including Poltavka, Chervone, Bilohiria, Novodanylivka, and Shcherbaky (Zaporizhzhia oblast) were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, the enemy has not abandoned its intention to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. The invaders launched 5 unsuccessful attacks on positions of the Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of Krynky (Kherson oblast). They fired artillery and mortars at more than 15 settlements, including Tiahynka, Ivanivka, Novotyahynka, and Poniativka (Kherson oblast).

The Ukrainian Air Force launched airstrikes on 12 buildups of troops, weapons and military equipment, 4 anti-aircraft missile systems of the occupiers. On top of that, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 1 Kh-59 guided air-launched missile.

The Ukrainian Missile Forces hit 2 air defense systems and 1 electronic warfare station of russian invaders.


Ukraine managed to return 99 fallen Ukrainian servicemen. This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. Representatives of law enforcement agencies and forensic experts will identify the victims.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal informs that an additional payment of UAH 70,000 has been approved for servicemen and police performing combat missions at the front line. Now, in addition to a salary of UAH 20,000-25,000 and combat allowances of UAH 100,000, soldiers on the zero line are entitled to an additional 70 thousand hryvnias.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The press service of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that a 64-year-old man was killed in Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi as a result of shelling. A 72-year-old man and a 76-year-old woman were injured in Monachynivka of Kupiansk region. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, russians shelled the village at around 11:15am. The injured received medical treatment on the spot but refused to be hospitalised.

Kharkiv police stated that a 63-year-old man sustained injuries to his arm in Vovchansk as a result of a drone strike as a russian drone dropped a munition on a civilian car.

The press service of the RMA said that a 16-year-old teenager, who was injured in an airstrike on Lyptsi on 10 April, is still in critical condition. The boy is in the intensive care unit and has undergone surgery.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that there are no emergency blackouts in Kharkiv and the neighbouring communities, but there are planned blackouts as there is still a shortage of electricity. Currently the focus is on preventing power outages.

Transport, the medical system, housing and communal services and other critical infrastructure are powered and working. All services continue to eliminate the consequences of the enemy attack on energy infrastructure around the clock.

Evacuations continue from settlements that are close to the border with russia or the frontline. Community leaders and the heads of the RMA are in constant communication with locals.

There were no attacks recorded on Kharkiv over the day.

About 20 settlements in Kharkiv oblast suffered enemy artillery and mortar attacks yesterday: Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka and others. Borova was hit by airstrikes.

At 4:40pm, Verkhnia Pysarivka village of Vovchansk community, Chuhuiv region, was damaged. The shelling damaged the building of the forestry. and injured two men, 52 and 46 years old.

At 4:15pm, Velyki Prokhody village of Derhachi community, Kharkiv region, was under attack. As a result of the shelling 2 outbuildings and 3 houses burned. A 76-year-old man was injured.

At 1:16pm, a garage was burning as a result of the shelling in Kupiansk.

At 12:13pm, an open area was targeted in Kharkiv and Vilkhivka communities.

On 11 April at 10:35am, Novoosynove village of Kurylivka community, Kupiansk region, was hit. The forest was burning as a result of the shelling.

The enemy did not conduct any offensive actions towards Kupiansk yesterday.

Combined bomb disposal teams cleared 45.87 hectares of mines and destroyed 433 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Ukrainian military repelled 67 russian attacks on the frontlines of Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts on 11 April. The russian army attacked with the support of aviation towards Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka.

The russian military launched airstrikes on 24 settlements in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.

Maksym Matviichuk, Commander of the reconnaissance squad of the Rubizh brigade, informed that Ukrainian troops are preventing russians from entering and gaining a foothold in Chasiv Yar. Heavy fighting is ongoing in Ivanivske and Bohdanivka.

Roman Padun, Head of Kurakhove CMA, said that  there are 936 children in the community, two of them – boys aged 7 and 12 – are to be forcibly evacuated.

Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, added that all children have been evacuated from 56 settlements in Donetsk oblast. A total of 1,016 children have been evacuated from the oblast since the start of the forced evacuation.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, confirmed that the russian military shelled Niu-York village in the evening. At least one person was killed and another injured.

The State Emergency Service reported that in the afternoon, russian troops shelled Kostiantynivka by Smerch multiple rocket launchers. A five-storey apartment building was damaged, where a fire broke out due to the shelling. At least six people were injured. Veronika Bakhal, Spokeswoman of the State Emergency Service added that the fire started on the balconies from the 2nd to the 5th floor. Rescuers extinguished the fire over an area of 150 sq m. At least three people were injured. The type of weapon is being established. Serhii Horbunov, Acting Head of Konstiantynivka Military Administration, informed that 9 facades of private houses, 6 cars, 2 official vehicles, 6 gas pipelines, a power line and one apartment building were damaged.

According to the RMA, Donetsk oblast is among the leaders in terms of participants in the Army of Restoration programme. In total, almost 13,000 people have been involved in paid community service since the launch of this government project in the oblast. This year alone, 3,300 people have already done so. Most of them work at the Invincibility Centres, arranging basement shelters and protective structures, while the rest unload and pack humanitarian aid, help in clearing rubble and restore damaged property of locals. These activities involve 64 companies in 24 communities.

The operational situation in the oblast as of the morning of 12 April is as follows:

Towards Pokrovsk, a person was injured and a house destroyed in Krasnohorivka. An apartment building was damaged in Ocheretyne. Hostre of  Kurakhove community was shelled.

Towards Kramatorsk, a house was destroyed  and 6 damaged in Torske of Lyman community. A house was damaged in Pyskunivka of Mykolaivka community. 2 private houses were damaged in Stinky of Kostiantynivka community.

Towards Bakhmut, an apartment building was damaged in Toretsk and an infrastructure facility in Shcherbynivka. In Chasiv Yar community, 5 apartment buildings and 4 private houses were damaged. A house was damaged in Serebrianka of Siversk community.

In total, russians attacked settlements in Donetsk oblast 22 times yesterday. 151 people, including 16 children, were evacuated from the frontline.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that one civilian was injured in Krasnohorivka yesterday.

Luhansk oblast

On 11 April, residents of Makiivka and Hrekivka received construction materials to rebuild their homes and a weekly supply of bread. The residents of Makiivka and the police officers, who were delivering the supplies, were under enemy attack. The invaders shelled Makiivka by rocket artillery yesterday morning, when Luhansk police were helping the local population. Fortunately, there were no casualties among the villagers. The policemen received first aid.

In addition, russians attacked Makiivka and Nevske by mortars and cannon artillery. They launched 20 drones towards Nevske.

Tverdokhlibove and Bilohorivka suffered airstrikes. The enemy also focused assault efforts on the latter.

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that russians will forcibly involve prison staff in the occupied Luhansk oblast in combat operations. The relevant draft law is already under consideration. It also provides for short-term contracts to work in “special conditions” without personal consent. The age limit for service will also be raised.

According to Luhansk RMA, the enemy is announcing the construction of six landfills in the so-called “luhansk people’s republic”, specifically, in Luhansk, Sievierodonetsk, Antratsyt, Bilokurakyne, Sorokyne and Pervomaisk. The plan is to bring garbage there not only from the occupied territories, but also from neighbouring regions of russia.

Rubizhne Stocking Manufactory is on track to restore half of its capacity before the russian invasion. In March 2022, the invaders destroyed the company’s production facilities. All equipment, raw materials and products burned down as a result of the shelling, and the premises suffered irreparable damage. The co-owners moved production to Lviv.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Despite the russian attack dated April 11, all settlements in Kyiv oblast are supplied with electricity. According to Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the RMA, power engineers reconnected the grid after one of the oblast’s power facilities was damaged. Meanwhile, the RMA asks Kyiv residents to save electricity.

The Air Force reported that the russian military could have hit the Trypillia thermal power plant with an X-69 missile, which is currently being identified. russia has already used similar missiles before, with some parts manufactured in 2023. The X-69 is a subsonic missile for tactical aircraft that the occupiers can launch from Su-34 and Su-35. The range of this missile has reached 400 km, although it was previously estimated at 300 km.

Makariv community continues to restore houses destroyed or damaged by russian troops. Vadym Tokar, village head, said that repairs have begun in two more educational institutions under a memorandum signed with the Norwegian Refugee Council.

The city council of Irpin reported about the destruction of a private house during the hostilities. Before the full-scale invasion, a large family lived there. The reconstruction is funded under the Program to restore private houses destroyed due to hostilities in Kyiv oblast.

Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn announced the beginning of the old shelter renovation in Kozintsy village kindergarten fully funded by the Lithuanian government. A modern radiation bomb shelter is being built there by European standards.

National Police investigators have announced a charge against a russian soldier who gunned down a man during the seizure of Bucha in March 2022. During a raid on the occupied city, one of the invaders entered a house where civilians were hiding in the basement of a residential building. He threatened the unarmed people with assault rifles and ordered a 46-year-old resident to collect the cell phones of the people present and take them outdoors for inspection. When the man complied with the order, the russian soldier shot him with a firearm. After that, the invader threw a grenade into the basement with the people.

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko announced the supply of another 500 FPV drones purchased at the expense of the capital to the soldiers of the 4th  National Guard Brigade “Rubizh”. According to him, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the city has transferred almost UAH 500m to the brigade at its request for UAVs, electronic warfare systems, radio stations, and other necessary equipment or urgent needs.

Bucha City Council reported that on Yablunska Street, artists are creating a mural on the building where, at the beginning of the invasion, russians organized a torture chamber, and abused and killed civilians. The mural created by artists Bandit and Johny is dedicated to the victims of russian crimes.

Zhytomyr oblast

Serhii Sukhomlyn, Mayor of Zhytomyr, informed that public transport will stop in the morning during the national minute of silence. This decision to commemorate the victims of russia’s armed aggression was made at an extraordinary meeting of the city council executive committee. The proposals also include a minute of silence launch every day at 9am in public transport, at enterprises, institutions and establishments, and on LED screens on the streets.

International partners from the Italian Red Cross Society are building 40 modular houses for internally displaced persons in Zhytomyr community. The work is to be completed in a month. According to Serhii Sukhomlyn, there is an additional agreement on 15 more such houses – the city council is allocating funds for their foundations.

In Zhytomyr, the Yuri Haharin Park for Culture and Recreation was renamed Shoduar Park in honour of philanthropist Baron Ivan Maximilian de Shoduar. The renaming was voted for by the city council members at a session.

Sumy oblast

The regional military administration reported that at 14:55, the enemy attacked the civilian infrastructure of Sumy with an airstrike, injuring three people. The roof of a non-residential building was also partially destroyed and a fire broke out, which was extinguished by the State Emergency Service. All necessary services are working at the scene, including 26 rescuers and 5 vehicles.

The RMA reported that at night and in the morning, russians shelled the border area 7 times with 39 attacks from artillery and mortars. Khotyn, Vorozhba, Esman, and Svesa communities were shelled.

Over the past day, the russian military launched 36 attacks and made a total of 157 strikes in the Sumy oblast. 13 communities were attacked: Sumy, Khotyn, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Vorozhba, Krasnopil, Velyka Pysarivka, Buryn, Shalyhine, Esman, Seredyna-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske, and Svesa communities. The enemy struck with various types of weapons and used artillery, mortars, FPV, and UAV drones to drop explosive ordnance. They conducted a CAB air strike on the critical infrastructure of Sumy, the local thermal power plant.

On 11 April, two residents of the Esman community in the Shostka district were wounded as a result of russian shelling with cannon artillery. The victims were taken to Hlukhiv Hospital.

Sumy oblast sent humanitarian aid to Kharkiv oblast, which continues to suffer from the actions of the russian invaders. According to the RMA, such support is necessary because the enemy is attacking civilians and critical infrastructure, killing civilians every day. Kharkiv’s power facilities have been almost destroyed after massive russian attacks.

The RMA reported that Lviv, Chernivtsi, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions provide shelter to families with children from Velyka Pysarivka and Seredyna-Buda communities in Sumy Oblast, affected by constant shelling from the russian federation.

Chernihiv oblast

According to the SBGSU, russian troops shelled the border 10 times with various types of weapons. There were 37 explosions, including 6 attacks with unguided aerial missiles. Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, and Snovsk communities were under enemy fire.

The Ministry of Veterans Affairs plans to open a Veterans Development Centre. According to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, they are currently studying the establishment of such a center based on the National University “Chernihiv Collegium” named after Taras Shevchenko.

Chernihiv Regional Council reported that volunteers presented a new online project called United Platform in Chernihiv. Its main goal is to create a shared resource for assistance and combine the efforts of volunteers, philanthropists, and authorities including psychological, material, grant, or fund support.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, informs that 4️ enemy drones were shot down at night. They were destroyed in Kryvyi Rih region.  A fire broke out at one of the critical infrastructure facilities due to falling debris. Rescuers worked to eliminate the fire. Late in the evening, the occupiers attacked the community of Myrove, Nikopol region, with two kamikaze drones. Two private houses were damaged there.

Throughout the day, the occupiers were shelling Nikopol. In the morning, artillery was used and 7 kamikaze drones launched. The morning shelling in the town damaged 5 shops, a religious institution, an infrastructure facility, an office building, a library, 9 private houses, 5 power lines, a gas pipeline, hit an outbuilding and completely destroyed another. A 28-year-old woman was also injured by falling debris from the downed missile. A fire broke out, damaging the roof of the house, affecting 15 other private homes, a truck, and a power line.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast will receive a subvention of UAH 500m to build shelters in schools. The funds will be used to repair and equip existing bomb shelters, construct new protective structures and purchase the necessary equipment and inventory.

Ukraine’s tenth recruitment center for the Ukrainian army was opened in Kryvyi Rih.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov announces  that ​​the soldiers of the 3rd separate assault brigade, who are fighting in the hottest spots of the front, received another aid package from Vinnytsia oblast. This time, 20 thermal imagers and 5 Mavic 3Ts were sent.

Kirovohrad oblast

Two years later, soldier Oleksandr Stetsenko was reburied in Kropyvnytskyi. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he was defending the city of Rubizhne, Luhansk oblast. He was killed during the shelling on 22 March, 2022. He was buried as an unknown soldier in a cemetery in Dnipro.

Cherkasy oblast

In Cherkasy oblast, pyrotechnics have begun a routine inspection of the territory. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the number of explosive devices found has increased.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On 11 April, one person was injured due to enemy artillery shelling in the city of Huliaipole. Overall, the occupiers launched 279 strikes on 8 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The russian forces launched missiles attacking energy infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Enemy aviation struck Mala Tokmachka. 46 UAVs of various modifications attacked Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, and Novoandriivka. There were 15 MLRS bombardments at Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, Malynivka, and Levadne. The enemy shelled Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Levadne, and Malynivka 214 times using artillery. There were 17 reports of residential buildings and infrastructure objects being destroyed.

On 11 April, two fires broke out in Huliaipole and Orikhiv as a result of russian shelling. According to rescuers, a utility building measuring 20 square meters and two apartments in a two-story residential building with a total area of 134 square meters, were burning.

The General Staff reported that the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions in the areas of Staramaiorske in Donetsk oblast and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia oblast five times. 

Fighters of the 1st assault unit Omega destroyed 2 D-30 howitzers and a 120mm mortar towards Zaporizhzhia. Having conducted aerial reconnaissance beyond the clash line, they identified enemy artillery positions and, bypassing the EW system, hit the targets.

The Coordination Headquarters for the handling of prisoners of war reported  that the bodies of 99 fallen defenders have been repatriated to Ukraine, with 20 of them having fallen towards Zaporizhzhia. The Armed Forces of Ukraine will transport the repatriated bodies and remains to designated state institutions. Representatives of law enforcement agencies and forensic experts will establish the identities of the deceased.

Mykolaiv oblast

Referring to Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, on 11 April, the russian army once again attacked Mykolaiv oblast. Around 15:41, the enemy struck with a Lancet drone Radsadiv community. According to the administration, no one was injured. Later, at 16:55, the enemy conducted mortar shelling at the waters near Ochakiv community, and at night, at 23:22, the territory Kutsurub community was shelled. There were no casualties as a result of the shelling. 

On the night of 11-12 April, the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down an enemy kamikaze  Shahed-136 drone in Mykolaiv oblast.

Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, informs that 13 April is declared a day of mourning for those killed as a result of the russian missile attack on the regional center. 

Odesa oblast

Hennadii Trukhanov, Mayor of Odesa, states that the number of casualties from the russian attack on Odesa oblast on 10 April has increased to six. A 56-year-old man, who suffered severe injuries, died in the hospital. 

Referring to the South Operational Command, russians once again launched several waves of drone strikes from the south during the night. The enemy targeted the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, including that in Odesa oblast. One combat drone was destroyed over the region.

One of the airborne assault units received eight Buggies from Odesa. This model of off-road vehicle has excellent off-road characteristics and a spacious, transformable body, making it suitable for various purposes. The paratroopers say that this particular model is much needed in the field. The Buggies were acquired at their request under the Safe City program.

Kherson oblast

It is reported that russian forces attacked Kherson oblast at least three times with drones. As a result of a drone attack, a 49-year-old resident of Kachkarivka was injured in his own home. The man was diagnosed with blast trauma and shrapnel wounds to the chest.  A woman was attacked with a drone in Beryslav. The victim suffered blast and head injuries, as well as shrapnel wounds to the head and legs. Additionally, occupiers struck a residential building in Novoberyslav with a kamikaze drone. A 48-year-old man was injured as a result of the enemy attack.

Yesterday,  Antonivka, Inzherne, Komyshany, Tiahynka, Lvove, Kachkarivka, Kizomys, Bilozerka, Havrylivka, Kostyrka, Stanislav, Zmiiivka, Poniativka, Shliakhove, and Romashkove were shelled. As a result of the attacks, 7 private houses and critical infrastructure objects were damaged. During the night drone attack, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 1 131/136 Shahed drone in the region.

In the morning of 12 April, two residents were blown up by an explosive device on the outskirts of the village of Bobrovyy Kut. As a result of the explosion, a man received traumatic amputation of a leg, while a woman suffered shrapnel wounds. Preliminarily, civilians were injured by an antipersonnel mine.

Daily counter-battery combat continues in the operational zone of the Southern Defense Forces. The enemy made 7 assaults on our positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson oblast. Having suffered losses, they retreated to their original positions. Our units continue to carry out comprehensive measures to maintain and strengthen positions. Yesterday, the enemy lost 119 occupiers and 48 pieces of equipment and military vehicles towards Orikhiv and Kherson. 2 field supply buildups and 1 command observation point were hit.

It is reported that russian military strikes on critical infrastructure in Mykolaiv oblast affected power outages throughout the liberated part of Kherson oblast. This led to water supply disruptions in Tekstylnyi neighbourhood in Kherson. According to Roman Mrochko, Head of Kherson City Military Administration, specialists from the Kherson Water Utility will carry out restoration work by the end of the day, and residents will have water supply over the weekend.

Employees of Kherson Art Museum discovered another painting stolen during occupation, which was filmed by a russian propaganda channel. In total, 102 such art pieces have been counted. Museum staff found that the stolen canvas is Olha Maliutina’s painting “Still Life. Apples and Grapes,” painted in 1974.

Askania-Nova community received equipment for restoration within the “Decentralization brings better results and efficiency” initiative (DOBRE). The new excavator-loader with attached equipment will help in restoring the community’s territory after de-occupation. Currently, the equipment will be used for the reconstruction of Vysokopillia community.

Stanislav community received technical assistance to restore water supply in Stanislav and Shyroka Balka, where water pipelines were damaged due to enemy shelling. Technical assistance was provided to the community by the NGO International Solidarity from the city of Dnipro.

Zakarpattia oblast

The Regional Council held meeting with Alexander-Victor Mikula, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine, Gabriela Stankova, Deputy Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhhorod, and Laszlo Kuti, Consul of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhhorod. They discussed a summer vacation for children from the east of Ukraine.

The Centre for Providing Administrative Services of Uzhhorod City Council received a portable automated workplace Mobile Administrator. Esma Umerova, Regional Coordinator of UNDP in Zakarpattia oblast, handed over the assistance. The resulting equipment is especially important in providing necessary services to persons with disabilities, the elderly, and war veterans.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the Swiss Red Cross. They were interested in issues related to providing the necessary assistance to IDP, carrying out repair work in places of temporary residence of IDP, geriatric centres, psycho-neurological boarding schools and other social institutions. The possibility of providing social institutions of the oblast with the necessary cars and beds was also discussed.

Lviv oblast

6 communities of Lviv oblast held charity auctions and raised funds to purchase 480 combat drones worth almost UAH 7.5m to the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after King Danylo, the Battalion of Unmanned Attack Aircraft Complexes Achilles, the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after the Basket Chieftain Ivan Sirk, the 77th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Also, the communities that participated in the fundraising will send  part of drones to their compatriots who are currently in hot spots. This is another reinforcement for Ukrainian defenders from the Birds of Victory project.

During the charity auction in Sambor, over UAH 100,000 was collected for the Armed Forces. The wreckage of the world’s largest aircraft An-225 Mriia became a unique lot. In general, for the entire auction, it was possible to raise UAH 70,100 and $800 for the needs of the Armed Forces. The raised funds will be used to purchase components for the manufacture of FPV drones. Also, within the scope of the event, soldiers were presented with a car. After repair, it will be transferred to the combat zone.

The Running for the Heroes of Strii charity marathon was held in Strii. Over 300 participants joined the marathon. In particular, representatives of authorities, law enforcement agencies, residents and guests of the city. And also border guards, including Serhii Dubov, Mariupol defenders, and Yurii Kozlovskyi, veteran border guard. They covered a distance of 5 kilometres and finished holding the flag of the State Border Service. Funds raised during registration and the race will go towards the purchase of FPV drones for the Alastor Drone Strike Group of the 49th Separate Assault Brigade Karpatska Sich named after Oleh Kutsyn.

Rivne oblast

Tenders for the repair of shelters are actively held in communities of Rivne oblast. Procurement under the crosshairs of the Transparency and Accountability group. Rivne City Council planned to update storage facilities and repair basements in 4 schools and 5 kindergartens. Horodotsk community is planning to repair the shelter in Obariv Lyceum. Sarnen community announced tenders for the construction of a protective structure in gymnasium №3, as well as for the repair of the anti-radiation shelter of Horodet Lyceum. The procurement for the repair of the anti-radiation shelter at Lyceum №3 was made public by Rokytniv community.

Rivne Regional War Veterans Hospital and the relocated Luhansk Medical University signed a tripartite agreement on cooperation with the Lithuanian University of Medical Sciences. The agreement will provide for the joint training of specialists, the conduct of scientific research, the implementation of joint projects and the exchange of employees.

Ternopil oblast

28 communities of Ternopil oblast will send a shipment of 30 generators of various capacities, from 3 to 55 kW, to Kharkiv. They will help communal institutions of Kharkiv oblast to perform their work and provide residents with services necessary for life.

A general meeting of Ternopil regional branch of the Association of Cities of Ukraine was held in Ternopil. They discussed the life of cities under martial law, support for the Armed Forces, ways and means of reforming local self-government, creating decent conditions for every resident of communities, as well as an effective system of good governance at the local level.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

In Khmelnytskyi, a shelter with 53 rooms and 22 apartments was opened for IDPs who found shelter in the community thanks to the EU funds and the NEFKO Corporation. Rooms and apartments are equipped with furniture, plumbing, household appliances and dishes. 6 common kitchens and a common laundry were also built. The cost of the performed works and purchased equipment amounted to €1.48m.

Chernivtsi oblast

The 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after King Danylo opened a Recruiting Center in Lviv. This is already the 5th office where you can come to get information about military vacancies in brigades and stand up for the defence of Ukraine.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The outgoing Dutch government has increased the amount of aid to Ukraine in 2024 by €400m, in addition to the already promised 2bn. In addition to the increase in aid, the current government of the Netherlands has budgeted €1.5bn to support Ukraine in 2025. As of the end of February, the Netherlands spent a total of over €2.8bn on aid to Ukraine.

Lithuania sent a batch of military aid, including anti-drone systems, generators and folding beds to Ukraine. The package has already arrived at the Ukrainian military.

The United Kingdom sent 2 minesweepers to Ukraine. The ships will operate under the names Chernihiv and Cherkasy. Each of them served in the Royal Navy for over 20 years. They have already arrived at the naval base in the English city of Portsmouth, where their crew members will undergo training to prepare them to search for mines in the Black Sea.

Dainius Kravis, Minister of Energy of Lithuania, announced that the country will send equipment to restore energy infrastructure to Ukraine. He informed that the equipment will be taken from the currently non-functional Vilnius CHP, and another part from the Ignalina NPP and warehouses of energy companies. A large transformer will also be sent.

Under the co-chairing of Ukraine and Canada, the 2nd plenary meeting of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children was held, at which specific projects were presented to involve coalition member countries in the work on the return and reintegration of Ukrainian children abducted by russia. The total number of countries participating in the coalition increased to 35 thanks to the accession of two new members – Liechtenstein and Slovenia.

The President’s Office met with Nakagome Masashi, Director General of the European Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. They discussed the draft bilateral security agreement to implement the G7 Joint Declaration.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Amy Pope, Director General of the International Organization for Migration. They discussed key directions of the organisation’s activity in Ukraine: assistance to IDP, promotion of their employment and maintenance of psychological health.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, discussed with Viola Amherd, Head of the Federal Department of Defense, Population Protection and Sports of Switzerland. They discussed preparations for the first Global Peace Summit in Switzerland, scheduled for June this year.
