War in Ukraine today: latest news, 11 April, 2024 (photo)

It has been the 778th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On 11 April, there were 53 tactical engagements.

The enemy launched a total of 53 missile and 84 airstrikes, 61 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have killed and wounded civilians. Residential apartment blocks and private houses as well as other infrastructure were destroyed or damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of enemy offensive groups formed were found.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the adversary maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increasing the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 20 settlements, including Khrinivka, Leonivka (Chernihiv oblast), Marchykhyna Buda, Vilna Sloboda, Kucherivka, Studenok and Myropillia (Sumy oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the russian army did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 15 settlements, including Synkivka, Petropavlivka and Stepova Novoselivka (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the adversary did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations. The invaders launched 1 airstrike in the vicinity of the settlement of Tverdokhlibove (Luhansk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Nevske (Luhansk oblast), Makiivka, Terny, Yampolivka and Zarichne (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian troops repelled 15 attacks in the vicinities of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Vyimka, Rozdolivka, Klishchiivka, Verkhnokamianske, and Ivanivske (Donetsk oblast). With the air support, the invaders attempted to improve their tactical position in that area. Also, the adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of settlements of Spirne, Andriivka, and Pivdenne (Donetsk oblast). More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Hryhorivka, Kalynivka and Chasiv Yar (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 attacks in the vicinities of Novokalynove, Umanske, and Netailove (Donetsk oblast). With air support, the invaders attempted to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions. The invaders launched airstrikes in the vicinities of settlements of Novobakhmutivka, and Berdychi (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Novokalynove, Netailove and Semenivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Novopavlivka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the vicinities of Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka and Urozhaine. With the air support, the invaders made 15 attempts to breach Ukrainian defence in that area. Also, the russian army launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Kostiantynivka and Vodiane (Donetsk oblast). More than 10 settlements, including Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka, Kostiantynivka, and Vuhledar (Donetsk oblast), were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Orikhiv, with the air support, the occupiers launched 2 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinities of Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast) and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Also, the adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of settlements of Vremivka (Donetsk oblast) and Novodanylivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Around 20 settlements, including Bilohiria, Novodanylivka, and Shcherbaky (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, the enemy has not abandoned its intention to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. On 11 April, the enemy launched 2 attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of Krynky (Kherson oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 15 settlements, including Antonivka and Poniativka (Kherson oblast).

The Ukrainian Air Force launched airstrikes on 12 buildups of enemy troops, weapons, and military equipment, and 1x anti-aircraft missile system.

The Ministry of Social Policy reported that the birth rate in Ukraine has fallen. In 2023, only 187,000 children were born, the worst figure in 300 years. 

Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Transformation, Digital Development and Digitalisation, informed that Ukraine will implement UA DroneID technology, which increases the efficiency of drones. The technology has already been tested with attack drones in combat conditions.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

The General Staff of the ARmed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Ukrainian army repelled 49 russian attacks in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts yesterday. The russian army stormed towards all directions, especially targeting Avdiivka axis twice. Bakhmut axis remains the most intense where the Defence Forces repelled 23 assault attempts.

Kharkiv oblast

Viacheslav Zadorenko, Head of the Military Administration, reported that a 75-year-old man was injured in an airstrike on Velyki Prokhody, Kharkiv region, at around 4pm and taken to hospital.

The bombing destroyed six private houses and damaged civilian infrastructure in the village.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv RMA, informed that in the afternoon, russians fired twice outside the village of Kharkiv region.

The press service of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office said that around 1pm, the russian army attacked Kupiansk, first by artillery. One house was completely destroyed, private households damaged, and a fire broke out.

Volodymyr Tymoshko, Head of Kharkiv police said that after the morning shelling of critical infrastructure in Kharkiv and the oblast, russia continued to strike the oblast: at 11:10am, the impact of guided aerial bombs in Dvorichna and Kivsharivka of Kupiansk region is being clarified. He noted that in the morning, russians launched 12 S-300 missiles at Kharkiv and Eskhar in Chuhuiv region. There were no casualties.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed that starting from 5am, the enemy launched massive missile attacks on the energy infrastructure of Kharkiv and the oblast. Residential infrastructure and administrative buildings were also hit. The thermal power plant that supplies Kharkiv was damaged and another transformer substation completely destroyed as a result of the morning strikes.

Illia Yevlash, Spokesman of the Air Force Command of Ukraine said that during the morning attack, the russian army used a diversionary manoeuvre. According to him, russia launched the Shahed drones to distract and meanwhile hit Kharkiv by S-300 and S-400 missiles. Also russians launched six Kinzhal aerial ballistic missiles, which are difficult to shoot down.

At 5:10am, the energy infrastructure in Kharkiv was hit by an S-300 missile attack. The shelling also damaged an apartment.

Yesterday about 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast suffered enemy artillery and mortar attacks: Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka and others. Derhachi, Lyptsi, Vovchansk, Kurylivka, Kruhliakivka, Mala Danylivka were hit by airstrikes.

At 4:54pm, Ivashky village, Bohodukhiv region, was shelled by mortars. Two private houses and a garage were damaged.

At 1:55pm, Mala Danylivka village, Kharkiv region, was shelled by KAB bombs. The dormitory of the educational institution was damaged.

At 1:50pm, a shop and a bus were damaged as a result of hostile shelling of Lyptsi village, Kharkiv region. Among the injured: a woman of 38 years old and a 17-year-old boy who is in extremely critical condition. Two women aged 59 and 42 and a 14-year-old girl were killed. Also russians posted footage of the airstrike and reported the destruction of “the enemy’s location and the ammunition warehouse”.

At 2pm, Vovchansk suffered two attacks from anti-aircraft missile systems. Three private houses, a hospital building and a health centre were damaged. Patients and doctors of the hospital were evacuated earlier. A 55-year-old security guard of the health centre was injured.

At 12pm, a bus was damaged  in Vovchansk by a UAV. A 53-year-old civilian man was injured.

At 11am, Nechvolodivka village, Kupiansk region, was shelled. A residential building was damaged.

At 9:20am, Kruhliakivka, Kupiansk region, was under attack from an anti-aircraft gun. 2 residential buildings were damaged.

The enemy did not conduct any offensive towards Kupiansk yesterday.

Combined teams of explosive experts cleared 48.36 hectares of mines and destroyed 481 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

The regional police reported that the russian army launched four S-300 missiles at Selydove on the night of 11 April. There was damage to an industrial area, but according to preliminary reports, no one was injured.

Yesterday Donetsk oblast suffered 1,637 hostile attacks, and two people were injured. The attacks were recorded in 9 settlements: Krasnohorivka, Kurakhove, Toretsk cities, Hostre, Kurakhivka, Niu-York, Ocheretyne settlements, Halytsynivka and Novoselivka Persha villages. 14 residential buildings and a critical infrastructure facility were damaged. Two civilians were injured and private houses damaged in Krasnohorivka and Novoselivka Persha as a result of artillery shelling.

Also russia dropped a KAB-250 guided aerial bomb on Toretsk yesterday, destroying a water storage tank. Last night, russians launched another bomb attack on the town, damaging a shop.

Yurii Fedorenko, Commander of the Achilles battalion of the 92nd Brigade, confirmed that the russian army attacks two villages on the flanks of Chasiv Yar and also tries to reach the outskirts of the town, but the Defence Forces are currently holding Chasiv Yar, and there are no occupation troops there. The enemy did not have any tactical successes yesterday. They are trying to invade Bohdanivka and Ivanivske, which are the flanks of Chasiv Yar, and continue attacking near Chasiv Yar, trying to reach the outskirts.  There are no russians in Chasiv Yar but there are battles in Ivanivske and Bohdanivka, and the Defence Forces control about 30% of the villages. The soldier added that the Ukrainian forces are actively defending their positions.

In total, 1910 people have been killed and 4787 injured since the beginning of the invasion in Donetsk oblast.

Mariupol Mayor’s Councillor Petro ANdriushchenko said that in the temporarily occupied city, the occupation authorities plan to demolish 300 more apartment buildings by the end of the summer.

Police and volunteers delivered 600 kg of food to Ocheretyne and Novoselivka Persha. Ocheretyne is in ruins, most people have left, the rest are living in basements. The police leave the cargo at several locations because it is dangerous to deliver to individual addresses. There are 80 people left in Novoselivka Persha. Residents refuse to leave their homes, even though they have been damaged by shelling. The building, where the school and kindergarten were located, was also destroyed. In 2017, the educational institution was rebuilt, classrooms renovated and a gym equipped, but now it is impossible to study there.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, during the day, Nevske suffered from mortar attack, Novoliubivka was hit by rocket artillery, and Makiivka by cannons. The invaders attacked Bilohorivka and Serebrianka forestry. The enemy assault operations were stopped towards Bilohorivka.

Not only humanitarian aid is brought to the residents of the liberated villages, but also what they order, including household items, building materials and even seeds for the frontline area. Despite constant shelling, a delivery to Nevske and Novoliubivka was organised on Wednesday, 10 April.

At the mines in Dovzhansk, all miners were ordered to register for military service. In the absence of the appropriate mark, they threaten not to pay salaries and suspend them from work. Everyone has to undergo a medical examination, even people who have suffered work-related injuries are considered fit for service.

The lack of medicines in the territories occupied in 2022 is an important matter. Even though, russians destroyed the infrastructure, they are not going to build something from scratch. They are also unable to make regular deliveries. In Rubizhne, the situation with medicines is critical. The residents are forced to look for medicines among their neighbours and through advertisements. There has been no internet in the town for quite some time so they post relevant text messages on entrances and fences.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, informed that at night russia hit a critical infrastructure facility during the massive attack with kamikaze drones and missiles. Power engineers and other services promptly reconnected the grid and recovered electricity in the region. Water supply and sewerage in the affected community have been restored. Work to eliminate the consequences of the attack is underway. 

Andriy Gota, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Tsentrenergo, specified that a massive missile attack on April 11 destroyed the Trypilska TPP in Kyiv oblast. The hit caused a large-scale fire in the turbine shop. All workers present on shift during the attack survived.

Amy Pope, Director General of the International Organization for Migration, visited Kyiv on 10 April. She met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and signed cooperation agreements with the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide assistance to internally displaced persons, support economic recovery, and strengthen migration and border management.

The official launch of three mobile Survivor Assistance Centers took place in Borodianka. The centers are to provide free and confidential psychological, social, and legal assistance to victims of sexual violence committed by russian troops in the de-occupied territories and the frontline regions. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the mobile centres would become part of a stationary centres network currently operating in 11 cities in Ukraine.

The second training “How the Media Should Work with Mental Health Issues” for journalists and community communicators was held in Kyiv RMA. Participants discussed algorithms for finding topics, sources and experts for communications, important basic rules, and practical techniques for interviewing people who have experienced traumatic events. The participants also discussed the use of terminology in covering sensitive topics.

Since the beginning of the year, 3,500 businesses have been registered in Kyiv oblast. The RMA reported that the oblast remains among the top five leaders in implementing the 5-7-9% Affordable Loans program, as well as among the regions with the largest number of approved applications for microgrants under the government’s program. Under the program providing grants for veterans and their families, 17 decisions were made for more than UAH 8m, which would allow the creation of 37 new jobs.

Kyiv Oblast State Emergency Service reported that rescue service specialists from Fastiv region underwent special training from the international charity organisation Ghosts of Ukraine. The rescuers received basic first aid skills that will help save lives. 

Zhytomyr oblast

The RMA reported that during an air alert over the territory of Zhytomyr oblast at night, air defense forces destroyed several enemy air targets. There were no casualties or injuries during the debris fall.

Almost UAH 4.4m in compensation for utilities was allocated to 30 state, municipal, and private property objects sheltering IDPs.

The Estonian Center for International Development ESTDEV announced enrollment in the Project Management Course “Strengthening Local Self-Government for EU Integration” for the local communities. The course aims to improve the skills and knowledge of local government officials.

A child-friendly space has appeared in Brusylivka Children’s Library. The project was implemented by the ROKADA Charitable Foundation, an implementing partner of the United Nations Refugee Agency in Ukraine (UNHCR).

Sumy oblast

The prosecutor’s office of Sumy oblast reported that russian troops shelled the civilian infrastructure of the border settlements. Four people were injured in Esman and Vorozhba communities, including a 16-year-old teenager.

The RMA reported that the russians fired 7 times resulting in attacks with mortars, MLRSs, and artillery on the territory of Khotyn, Myropillia, and Seredyna-Buda communities.

The enemy also fired 28 times at Sumy oblast with a total of 119 attacks from various types of weapons. Border communities of Khotyn, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopil, Velyka Pysarivka, Shalyhine, Esman, Seredyna-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske were shelled.

Volodymyr Artyukh, Head of the RMA, reported that since the beginning of January 2024, 37 residents of Sumy oblast have been killed by russian shelling, and 85 wounded, including 8 children. The number of shelling attacks and explosions in the region has almost doubled over the past three months. During this period, private houses, farmland, critical infrastructure facilities, and agricultural enterprises were damaged and destroyed. 

Volodymyr Leonov, secretary of Velyka Pysarivka community, stated that all children were evacuated from the 5-kilometer border zone of the Velyka Pysarivka community. Currently, they and their families are rehabilitating in the west of Ukraine. 

During the meeting with representatives of the Volunteer Council, Volodymyr Artiukh informed that a territorial defence training center for civilians and volunteers is being created in Sumy oblast. It is planned for launch in the second half of this year.

The Ukrposhta. Pharmacy pilot project is underway. People have the opportunity to order OTC medicines and receive medication from the Affordable Medicines program at a reduced price. Medicines are delivered by 84 mobile and 236 stationary Ukrposhta points. 

Chernihiv oblast

According to the State Border Guard Service, russian troops attacked the border of Chernihiv oblast eight times over the past day. Novhorod-Siverskiy, Semenivka, and Snovsk communities were under enemy fire. There were 74 attacks from mortars and cannon artillery and 1 attack by an FPV drone.

Chernihiv police reported that on April 10, the russian army shelled an agricultural enterprise in Novhorod-Siverskyi region. Buildings and agricultural machinery were damaged.

According to Mayor Serhii Dedenko, russian shelling of Semenivka with Grads and artillery on April 9 killed a music school teacher, made two men hospitalised, damaged two dozen houses in the city center, and set a dog shelter on fire. 

The RMA informed that 10 power lines (8 of them partially) were de-energized due to russian shelling.  More than 1,200 consumers in 22 settlements were left without electricity.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that an enemy Shahed was shot down in Pavlohrad region by the Air Defence Forces. Last night the occupiers also attacked Nikopol launching kamikaze drones and firing from artillery. 7 private houses and a car were damaged in the city. In the morning, the enemy shelled Marhanets, Nikopol region with artillery, firing about a dozen shells.

According to Serhii Lysak, Head of Dnipropetrovsk RMA, 500 tablets were donated to the region by Poland. Several dozen gadgets have already been sent to Kryvyi Rih communities. They are for children deprived of parental care, orphans and those, who have excelled in education or creativity. The equipment will be useful for online classes and homework.

Vinnytsia oblast

In Vinnytsia oblast, during a night attack by the russian federation, drone fragments damaged power lines. Residents of 4 settlements were left without electricity.

Vinnytsia rescuers received 5 special vehicles from international partners from Lithuania, Canada, Germany and Switzerland.

Halyna Vasyliuk, organiser of a charity fair in  Dzhulynka village, Haisyn community reported that UAH 25,000 were raised there.

Kirovohrad oblast

Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, announced that after yesterday’s hostile attack, a committee started working in Oleksandriia region to determine the extent of damage to residential buildings. 6 houses were damaged as well as outbuildings. Specialists are drawing up reports and advising local residents on how to properly file claims for damages.

Poltava oblast

A meeting with representatives of the United Nations Refugee Agency and the International Organization for Migration was held in Poltava oblast. According to Filip Pronin, Head of the RMA, they agreed on further cooperation. In particular, the provision of materials for roof repairs, new windows and doors. 

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, reported that at night the defenders destroyed an enemy Shahed drone over Cherkasy oblast.

Chornobayivka community paid tribute to the fallen soldier Serhii Zakharchenko. The defender went missing since April 25, 2022.

In Cherkasy oblast, children are being healed with fairy tales as part of the You are the Winner project. Psychologists, craftsmen, and writers have united to help children traumatized by war.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Herman Halushchenko, Energy Minister of Ukraine,  announced that at night on 10 April, the russian army attacked energy infrastructure in Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhya, Lviv, and Kyiv oblasts, and an energy infrastructure facility was damaged in Zaporizhzhya oblast. There were no casualties. Power engineers are working to eliminate the consequences. 

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that during a massive missile attack, at 5am, the russian army fired guided missiles from tactical aircraft at Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that the russian army launched 421 attacks on seven towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast during the day on 10 April. In particular, they shelled the territories of Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Malynivka, Robotyne and Levadne 244 times.

Mykolaiv oblast

According to Mykolaiv RMA, the enemy attacked Mykolaiv with a ballistic missile. 4 civilians were killed, all of whom happened to be in the impact zone. 5 other individuals were injured, including a teenage girl who did not require hospitalisation. Among the other injured are 3 men in moderate condition, while one remains in critical condition undergoing surgery. A woman was transported to a trauma centre. The missile strike damaged windows, doors and roofs in several high-rise buildings, and parked cars.

During the night of 11 April, Air Defence Forces destroyed 8 Shahed 131/136 UAVs in Mykolaiv oblast. The debris fell on open terrain, with no casualties reported. Also, at 3:05am, the enemy conducted artillery shelling on Kutsurub community. No casualties were reported.

Odesa oblast

Last night, occupiers launched several groups of kamikaze drones from the temporarily occupied Crimea towards the south of Ukraine. Once again, the aggressor targeted the energy infrastructure. The attack lasted for 5 hours. Odesa, Chornomorsk, Zatoka and Izmail came under attack. Air Defence forces destroyed 7 drones. Odesa RMA reported that debris from the downed drones caused a fire at an energy facility. The fire was promptly extinguished, and no casualties were reported. Currently, there are no subscribers disconnected from electricity.

Oleh Kiper, Head of Odesa RMA, announced that on 12 April, Odesa oblast declared a day of mourning for the 5 victims of the missile strike on 10 April. It is worth noting that on that day the occupiers attacked the oblast with 9 ballistic missiles.

On 11 April, Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, met with a French delegation led by Michael Ru, Ambassador for Eastern Partnership and the Black Sea. The main mission of the French delegation is to develop a strategic document for comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in further countering the russian aggression. Important components of this assistance include military support and bolstering our country’s economic resilience.

Kherson oblast

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported that on 10 April, russian troops shelled 11 settlements in Kherson oblast. A critical infrastructure facility, agricultural machinery, a gas pipeline and five private houses were damaged. Damage was recorded in Kherson, Komyshany, Prydniprovske and Sadove. One child was injured. 

According to  the Southern Defence Forces, during a nighttime drone attack by the russian army, air defence units shot down three russian attack drones over Kherson oblast. In one day, 112 russian servicemen were killed and 41 pieces of weapons and military equipment were destroyed. This includes 12 cannons, 4 mortars, 20 armoured vehicles, 3 electronic warfare stations and 2 boats.

Rostyslav Karandeiev, Acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy, reported that as a result of russian armed aggression in Kherson oblast, 251 cultural sites have been damaged since the start of the full-scale invasion: 46 of them were completely destroyed, and 205 damaged. 

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Leszek Bullyer, Director of the Center for European Projects. Together with representatives of the Information Center for the Promotion of Cross-Border Cooperation Good Neighbor and the Department of Economic Development, External Relations and Tourism and Resorts of the RMA, they discussed already implemented projects of international cooperation in Volyn, as well as outlined further plans in this direction.

Zakarpattia oblast

In Uzhgorod, the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade Edelveis opened the Portal to War: On the Line of Fire exhibition. Fighters presented the trophies won in the fierce struggle against the russian invaders, weapons and uniforms, personal documents, diaries of the occupiers and other things. Interactive locations and a shooting range have also been set up for visitors.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that at dawn, the Air Defense Forces neutralised several enemy air targets on the territory of the oblast. There are no casualties.

Ivano-Frankivsk City Council reported that the community sent another batch of drones to the 36th Marine Brigade, which is currently defending Ukraine in Kherson oblast.

Lviv oblast

At night, enemy cruise missiles of various classes and UAVs attacked two objects of critical energy infrastructure in Lviv oblast. This is a gas distribution infrastructure facility in Strii region and an electric substation in Chervonohrad region. Fires started. They were quickly extinguished by firefighters. There are no victims or injured. All life support systems of Lviv oblast are working normally.

The RMA reported that according to preliminary information, this night soldiers of the Zahid Air Defence and mobile fire groups shot down 7 enemy drones and 6 cruise missiles over Lviv oblast.

Lviv community sent 1,500 FPV drones to the military thanks to the budget funds within the framework of the PomstaLeva initiative.

In cooperation with German partners, the Technology Transfer Center was also opened in Chervonohrad region. The institution will work as a local educational hub, a space for co-working and mentoring. Thus, it will provide ongoing support and resources to potential and newly created enterprises.

Ihor Saturka, defender from Yavoriv region was posthumously awarded the III degree For Courage Order. During the full-scale war, he served in military unit A4084. The soldier was killed on 27 January, 2023 as a result of his injuries.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that the Air Defense Forces worked in oblast. No damage was recorded.

Another anonymous report was received about the mining of the building of Rivne RMA and the Regional Council. According to the protocol, workers were evacuated. The relevant services inspected the premises. No explosive objects were found.

Ternopil oblast

In the airspace of Ternopil oblast, the Defense Forces neutralised several enemy air targets. There are no casualties. As a result of the downing of enemy objects in the oblast, falling debris was recorded. Appropriate services are available on site.

Ternopil City Council reported that the community sent 5 portable charging stations and 22 Mavic quadcopters to the defenders to strengthen the defence capability of the military formations.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi community sent 11 DJI MAVIC 3T worth UAH 2,1m to the military thanks to the budget funds. Since the beginning of 2024, the community has already sent 170 expensive quadcopters and over 1,400 FPV drones to the military.

Chernivtsi oblast

During the air alert in the oblast, the Air Defense Forces shot down missiles and UAVs. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties. All relevant services on the ground.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Germany will sent new military aid to Ukraine, included, tracked all-terrain vehicle Warthog; 2 WISENT 1 demining machines; 6 thousand shells of 155 mm calibre; 16 Vector reconnaissance UAVs; 30 reconnaissance UAVs RQ-35 Heidrun; 30 sets of countermeasures against UAVs; 11 mobile demining systems; 3 mine trawls; 70 infrared cameras; 680 Haenel MK556 assault rifles; 120 Haenel CR308 rifles; 50 Haenel HLR338 sniper rifles; 1m cartridges for small arms and 5 thousand detonators. Ukraine receives this aid package through supplies to the Federal Armed Forces and industry, financed from federal government funds. In total, Germany provided military aid to Ukraine in the amount of about €28bn.

Switzerland allocated €5bn for the reconstruction of Ukraine. These funds should be directed until 2035, in addition, 1.5bn Swiss francs have already been allocated for 2028. In particular, these funds will help prevent migration flows.

This year, Latvia will provide military support worth around €112m to Ukraine. Latvia will also help with recovery and reconstruction, critical infrastructure protection, demining, unmanned technologies and cyber security.

Switzerland announced the dates of the summit on the peace formula of Ukraine. The conference will take place on 15-16 June at the Burgenstock resort in the canton of Nidwalden near the city of Lucerne.

Ukraine and Latvia signed a bilateral security agreement. According to it, Latvia will provide military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 0.25% of GDP every year. In addition, Latvia undertakes a 10-year commitment to support Ukraine in cyber defence, demining, and unmanned technologies and definitely supports the accession to the EU and NATO.

Ukraine and Great Britain concluded a new agreement on defence and industrial cooperation. The agreement paves the way for attracting the most modern British technologies for the defence of Ukraine.

The BAE Systems British defence company has agreed to a contract for maintenance and repair of L119 light guns in Ukraine. This means that the L119s, which Great Britain gave to Ukraine, can be serviced in Ukraine and returned to the front line faster.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Laurinas Kaschyunas, Minister of National Defense of Lithuania. This is his first foreign visit in this position. They discussed the importance of Lithuania’s further leadership in the international demining coalition, the development of cooperation in the defence industry, work on a document on security guarantees, and further comprehensive support.

The European Parliament refused to approve EU Council funding until Ukraine was given new Patriots. Guy Verhofstadt, long-time MEP, former Prime Minister of Belgium from the Renew faction proposed to remove the approval of the budget of the European Council from the agenda until the member states can find seven Patriot systems, which are now urgently needed by Ukraine. Verhofstadt recalled words of the head of European diplomacy that European countries have a hundred Patriot systems, while Ukraine needs seven. His proposal was met with thunderous applause. The decision is called an unprecedented event. It was supported by 515 MEPs, 62 were against.
