War in Ukraine today: latest news, November 20, 2023 (photo)

It has been the 635th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On November 20, there were 54 combat clashes. The enemy launched a total of 3 airstrikes, 12 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Russian terrorist attacks have unfortunately resulted in casualties and injuries among civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there are no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group are observed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The invaders launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Kostobobriv (Chernihiv oblast) and Seredyna-Buda (Sumy oblast). Around 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Tymonovychi, Karpovychi, Hremiach (Chernihiv oblast), Veselivka, Kostiantynivka, Volfyne, Khodyne (Sumy oblast), Chervona Zorya, Pletenivka, Zemlyanky, and Budarky (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy conducted assault operations in the vicinities of Synkivka, east of Petropavlivka (Kharkiv oblast), where Ukrainian defenders repelled 10 attacks. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the enemy conducted no offensives (assaults). The occupiers fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Verkhnekamianske, Torske, Rozdolivka, and Spirne (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the invaders made failed assaults in the vicinities of Klishchiivka, Andriivka and east of Pivdenne (Donetsk oblast), where Ukrainian defenders repelled 19x attacks. More than 10 settlements, including Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove and Avdiivka (Donetsk oblast), where the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 7 attacks. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 15 settlements, including Oleksandropil, Keramik, Avdiivka, Sjeverne, Tonenke, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Marinka, the enemy made unsuccessful assaults in the vicinities of Marinka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast), where Ukrainian defenders repelled 10 attacks. Around 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Novomykhailivka, and Pobieda (Donetsk oblast), were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Shakhtarske, the invaders conducted assault operations west of Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast), to no success. Ukrainian defenders repelled 2 assaults in the area. Around 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Blahodatne, and Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the invaders made failed assaults in the vicinities of Robotyne and northwest of Verbove (Zaporizhzhia oblast). More than 20 settlements, including Poltavka, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Mali Shcherbaky, Robotyne, Kamianske (Zaporizhzhia oblast), and Nikopol (Dnipropetrovsk oblast) came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, the settlements of Sofiivka (Kherson oblast) and the city of Kherson suffered from enemy artillery shelling.

At the same time, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation towards Melitopol and offensive (assault) operations towards Bakhmut, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, exhausting the enemy all along the front line.

Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their ground on the left bank of the Dnipro River (Kherson oblast) and continue to inflict fire on the enemy.

The Ukrainian Air Force launched 2 airstrikes on buildups of troops, weapons and military equipment of the occupiers.


The Headquarters for Coordinating Prisoners of War Treatment returned the remains of an additional 94 martyrs. The Ukrainian military transports the repatriated bodies and remains to specialized institutions, where they are handed over to law enforcement officers and forensic experts to identify the victims. 

Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko reports that all nine units of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants are connected to the power grid and generating electricity. Energoatom experts have completed routine repairs on the last nine units of Ukraine’s nuclear power plants. All generating units in the Ukrainian-controlled territory are now in full operation. A major repair campaign at the nuclear power plants, which lasted several months, was completed before winter came and frost set in. This is very important because nuclear power meets more than 55% of Ukraine’s electricity needs. This is the most stable and resilient generation that enabled the power system to survive last winter. The VVER440 nuclear power unit, which previously used russian fuel, will use fuel produced at the Westinghouse plant in Sweden starting this year. 

Mykhaylo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation says that as part of the Yednist operation, 3K FPV drones were delivered to the military. These drones were purchased by UNITED 24, Come Back Alive, monobank, and a joint fundraising campaign supported by Ukrainians, which raised 235 million UAH in three days. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that at around 5:20 am, the enemy attacked Kindrashivka village, Kupiansk region. A private building, outbuildings and a private car were damaged. Preliminary, there were no casualties.

Yesterday the enemy shelled at least 18 settlements of Kharkiv, Chuhuiv and Kupiansk regions.

Agricultural machinery and outbuildings were damaged as a result of shelling Yurchenkove village, Chuhuiv region with Uragan MRLs.

In Vilcha village, Chuhuiv region, a 53-year-old and 74-year-old men were injured and hospitalised as a result of shelling from MRLs. A private residential building was damaged in the village.

The enemy struck Podoly village, Kupiansk region, with two guided bombs. An infrastructure facility, a private building and outbuildings were damaged.

Also Kozacha Lopan of Kharkiv region, Vovchansk, Bochkove, Budarky of Chuhuiv region, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove of Kupiansk region and other settlements were under enemy shelling.

Fighting is ongoing towards Kupiansk. Over the day, Ukrainian troops repelled seven attacks near Synkivka, Petropavlivka and Ivanivka.

As of  November 20, 2023, 284 children were evacuated from dangerous communities of Kupiansk region. Another 11 are to be evacuated. The evacuation is ongoing.

In Kharkiv oblast, staffing of Invincibility Centres were completed. Out of 930 centres, 905 have already been opened and another 25 are in reserve and ready to open in the event of a prolonged power outage.

Also 2,486 applications were submitted for a certificate for property destroyed as a result of hostilities under the second stage of eRestoration. 

Donetsk oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian troops repelled 39 attacks and continue to storm Bakhmut. The invaders attacked 16 times towards Marinka, 12 times towards Avdiivka and 11 times towards Bakhmut.

Donetsk Regional Military Administration reported that the night before, russians launched a missile attack on Sviatohorivka of Dobropillia community, damaging 9 private buildings and a veterinary clinic.

Towards Donetsk, a five-storey building was damaged in Krasnohorivka of Marinka community and Heorhiivka and Maksymilianivka were under attack. In Kurakhove community, Kurakhove and Hostre were shelled. In the morning there was a massive shelling of Avdiivka, damaging a building.

Towards Horlivka, 3 buildings were damaged in Toretsk community: 2 in Pivnichne and 1 in Niu-York. In Chasiv Yar community, 2 apartment buildings, 2 outbuildings and 1 industrial building were damaged. In Soledar community, Vasiukivka and Minkivka were shelled.

Towards Lysychansk, a house and a non-residential building were damaged in Siversk and Torske of Lyman community shelled twice.

Dmytro Lazutkin, Head of the public relations service of the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade, informed that the snowfall has affected the actions of both the russian army and the Defence Forces of Ukraine at the front, particularly towards Avdiivka. It will be harder for the enemy to use heavy equipment and it will be more difficult for both sides to use drones, especially strike ones.

Luhansk oblast

Luhansk Military Administration reports that russians launched an offensive towards Kupiansk. Lyman came under fire from rocket and cannon artillery, mortars, and tanks. The shelling took place near the de-occupied villages of Krasnorichensk community, including Nevske and Bilohorivka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces hold the line of defense in Serebrianka Forest. The enemy attacked there from the air.

Local residents are being evicted from an apartment building in Rubizhne, where an entranceway collapsed in November. So far, only from neighbouring entrances that have been recognized as dangerous. The occupiers offered several places in the dormitory without heating and in the absence of some other communications. Most of those who did not have enough beds were advised to seek shelter with relatives or rent housing. Empty houses and apartments are occupied by the russian military and collaborators.

In the lPR, compensation for the purchase of coal and firewood for the heating period of 2023-2024 is not issued without a russian passport. The law was passed in the second decade of November, when heating should have already been in place.

Potatoes, buckwheat, and cabbage are three times more expensive in the so-called “lPR” than in the government-controlled territory.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

 Bridget Brink, US Ambassador to Ukraine, reported that Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin came to Kyiv. Together with the head of the Pentagon, General Christopher Cavoli, Commander of the United Armed Forces of NATO in Europe, arrived in the capital.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin met with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and assured of continued unwavering support for Ukraine’s urgent needs on the battlefield.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with foreign journalists, in particular with the Fox News journalist Benjamin Hall, CEO of Fox Corporation Lachlan Murdoch, who was wounded in March 2022 during the shelling in Kyiv oblast, and The Sun journalist Jerome Starkey. Zelensky noted the important role of the world media in consolidating international support for Ukraine and expressed his condolences to all those whose family and friends were taken away by the war.

The website of the Office of the President announced that in an interview with African media representatives, First Lady Olena Zelenska talked about the kidnapping of Ukrainian children by russia. Media from Angola, Botswana, Tunisia, the Republic of Guinea, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, the Republic of South Africa, and Zambia were presented at the meeting in Kyiv on November 19. 

Kyiv RMA reported that the liquidation of explosive objects that remained on the territory of the oblast after the retreat of russian troops continues. On November 20, work will be carried out in Vyshhorod and Bucha regions.

A retreat session was held in Kyiv oblast for chaplains serving on the front lines. The purpose of the event is spiritual restoration and deepening of their faith. As reported by the RMA, the participants talked with a military psychologist and discussed resources, burnout, motivation, and recovery in extreme conditions. Art therapy was also conducted for them.

The Housing for IDPs charitable foundation reported that in the village of Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka, the Center for Socialization of Internally Displaced Persons is being prepared for opening. 19 families who lost their homes due to the war will live there. They will be accommodated in the former dormitory, which was renovated by the efforts of local authorities and benefactors.

Green areas were restored in the capital Kyoto park after the trenches dug for the defense of Kyiv at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation. As reported by the district administration, communal workers removed fortifications, filled in pits from trenches and dugouts, restored 8,700 square meters of lawn and laid pavement tiles on footpaths with a total length of more than half a kilometer.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr RMA reported that the oblast joined the Restore Homes program. This is a fully grant program, which is being implemented at the expense of the European Union and will operate in four regions of Ukraine: Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts. We will remind you that in Zhytomyr oblast there are 4,814 objects damaged as a result of the russian armed aggression, 2,694 of them have already been restored.

Anti-drones, quadcopters and portable power plants were transferred to the 43rd separate rifle battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the expense of Zhytomyr community. The fighters are now performing extremely difficult combat tasks in the Bakhmut direction. The total cost is almost one million hryvnias.

Berdychiv City Council reported that the concept of the Memorial complex to the defenders of Ukraine was agreed. The chief architect of the community Oleh Savytskyi presented two project options, the goal was to agree on a single concept of the complex, taking into account the comments and suggestions of native fallen heroes. Construction is planned to begin in 2024.

Sumy oblast

 Sumy RMA reported that the russians carried out 20 shelling attacks of the border territories and communities of the oblast. There were 130 explosions. Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Seredina-Buda, Shalyhine, Esman, and Znob-Novhorodske communities came under shelling. The enemy struck from mortars and barrel artillery, and also dropped VOG from UAVs (8 explosions). The night in the oblast passed without shelling.

As a result of the enemy mortar fire on November 19, a civilian was killed in the city of Seredyna-Buda. Sumy’s Regional Prosecutor’s office reported that a 51-year-old man was killed in his own home during the shelling of the city’s civilian infrastructure by the russian military.

Volodymyr Artyukh, Head of Sumy RMA  reported that five SUVs have been handed over to equip the air defense units of the oblast, which will be upgraded in accordance with the assigned tasks. The regional military administration is equipping units, providing them with transport and special equipment.

Chernihiv oblast

The SBGS reported that during the past day, the russians fired 5 times from their territory on the border of Chernihiv oblast; there were 48 explosions. Novhorod-Siverskyi community suffered 13 hits from barrel artillery near Mikhalchyna Sloboda, Semenivka community with 34 hits from a 120 mm mortar and an FPV-drone hit near Yanzhulivka and Leonivka.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv RMA  announced that over the past week, the enemy shelled 16 settlements in the oblast with various types of weapons. The military of the russian federation used aviation, struck with mortars, carried out a missile strike, fired artillery and mortars. The enemy strikes the civilian infrastructure of the oblast and destroys private buildings of civilians. Also a volunteer who was carrying humanitarian aid to the residents of the Novhorod-Siverskyi community by car was wounded by russian shelling last week.

Chernihiv oblast received 10 solid fuel block-modular boiler houses from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). As reported by the RMA, five will work in the regional center and one each in Bakhmach, Koropy, Mena, Novhorod-Siverskyi and Sribne communities. All boiler rooms will be used to provide centralized heat supply to public sector institutions.

With the support of USAID, a cogeneration plant was delivered to Chernihiv. The equipment will be installed at one of the largest boiler houses in the city, which provides heat and hot water to 155 residential high-rise buildings, 10 educational institutions and a hospital. The peculiarity of such an installation is the possibility of generating electric and thermal energy using natural gas. This will minimize the consequences of possible blackouts.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

During the artillery shelling of Nikopol, the occupiers killed an 83-year-old woman. A 53-year-old man was injured. The man was taken to the hospital in serious condition, the doctors of the intensive care unit are fighting for his life. 3 private houses, 2 farm buildings, a car, a power line and a gas pipeline were damaged.

The russian military attacked Nikopol with two kamikaze drones. The city was also attacked twice with heavy artillery. 10 private houses, 10 farm buildings, an infrastructure facility, several power lines and gas pipelines were damaged. Water supply on the territory of the house was damaged as well.

More than 550 people with disabilities and the elderly were evacuated from Nikopol reion of Dnipropetrovsk oblast to safer regions of Ukraine. The evacuation program has been in operation since August 2022. Those who want to leave the settlements that come under russian shelling are united in groups and organized to leave. Philanthropists and public organizations help them. People are being evacuated mainly to Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk oblasts. IDPs are settled in sanatoriums and hospitals. Food and accommodation are free of charge. They are helped apply for  state payments. 

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, announced that more than 400 Invincibility Centres have been deployed in Dnipropetrovsk oblast. This is one of the largest indicators in Ukraine.

Anhelina Kradozhon, Police Spokeswoman, reported that the police received a notification about the mining of all schools in Kryvyi Rih. No explosive objects were found during the inspections.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia State Pedagogical University named after Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi reported that the farewell to 18-year-old defender Dmytro Yaremenko will be held in Vinnytsia. The soldier was killed on November 13 while performing a combat mission on Sievierodonetsk direction. Dmytro went to the front as a volunteer. The defender will be buried on the Alley of Heroes in Sabarov. The man was a second year student of the faculty of journalism.

Kirovohrad oblast

Dmytro Semenyuk, Chairman of the public organization board announces that one million UAH is being collected in Kropyvnytskyi to sew sleeping bags for soldiers who are in the zone of active hostilities. The charity event was initiated by the Volunteer Information Front public organization. Sleeping bags will be sewn by the Asgard Kropyvnytskyi enterprise. The price of one sleeping bag is UAH 1,950.

Poltava oblast

Military serviceman Valerii Myrhorodskyi from Kremenchuk region was killed. The 43 years old fighter was identified by DNA results. Valerii was killed on February 10, 2023 as a result of mortar and tank fire by the russian army near Vuhledar of Donetsk oblast.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of RMA reported that work continues on the expansion of the fund of protective structures in educational institutions of Cherkasy region. With the state subsidy support 7 shelters were installed in schools of the region: 2 projects from the overhaul of public health facilities, another 5 – construction. These works are co-financed by communities. The construction of the shelter in Mankiv territorial community continues actively. The shelter is designed for 450 places, it will accommodate schoolchildren of this institution and preschoolers from a neighboring institution. Communications, comfort, compliance with regulations are the main accents of the project. Nowadays 96% of schools in the region have the opportunity to use shelters (their own and those of other business entities).

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On November 19, the enemy launched 61 strikes on 16 settlements in Zaporizhia oblast. The russian military carried out 6 MLRS shelling attacks on Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, Huliaipilske, Mala Tokmachka, and Kamianske. Additionally, 55 artillery strikes targeted the territories of Novoandriivka, Novodarivka, Bilohiria, Levadne, Poltavka, Robotyne, Charivne, Prymorske, Plavni, Mali Shcherbaky, and other towns and villages near the front line. There were 4 reports of residential buildings and infrastructure being destroyed, with no reported harm to civilians.

Ivan Fedorov, Mayor of Melitopol, says that as part of the “eRestoration” program, residents of the temporarily occupied Melitopol region will be able to receive compensation for their destroyed housing. Currently, there are approximately twenty completely destroyed buildings in the area. The Melitopol City Council commission will have access to up-to-date satellite imagery to assess the reality of the completely lost housing and confirm compensation for residents. Those whose homes were destroyed will be able to purchase new housing, with the maximum compensation amounting to up to 1,2 million hryvnias.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitaliy Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that on November 19, at 08:59, 13:24 and 23:28, the water area of Ochakiv community came under artillery fire. Also yesterday, at 09:04, enemy shelling was recorded outside the village of Solonchaky in Kutsurub community. There were no casualties reported.

Odesa oblast

Odesa branch of the State Emergency Service has received a new boat Rescuer, the funds for which were raised on the United24 platform. The boat has already been launched and demonstrated to reporters from the FREEДОМ TV channel. The special feature of the new boat is that it can accommodate 6-7 rescuers simultaneously. This includes medics, divers, and all the personnel necessary to rescue individuals in any circumstances.

The Odesa volunteer group Tekhnari, funded by the Charitable Foundation of Serhii Prytula, has devised a technical solution for using a man-portable air-defense system Ihla at night. It’s worth noting that the application of this MANPADS was previously limited to daylight hours. Currently, it has been enhanced with thermal weapon sight and successfully protects the Ukrainian sky at night.

Kherson oblast

In the morning, the russian army shelled the parking lot of a private transport company in Kherson. As a result of the enemy’s strike, two drivers were killed, and two more people were injured. Vehicles and a residential building were also damaged.

Yesterday, the enemy carried out 51 shelling attacks, firing 323 projectiles from mortars, artillery, Grad MLRS, tanks, S-60, RPGs, drones, and aircraft. The city of Kherson was targeted with 30 projectiles. Due to the russian aggression, 6 people were injured, including 1 child.

The enemy continues shelling the communities of Beryslav, Kakhovka, and Kherson regions. Occupiers targeted infrastructure and residential buildings using MLRS, mortars, artillery, aircraft, and drones. In the morning, russian forces shelled Bilozirka, resulting in a 58-year-old local resident being injured. Tyahynka was under attacks from Grad MLRS, causing a 38-year-old policeman to be injured.

The russian army shelled virtually all areas of Kherson with MLRSs and artillery. The attacks resulted in injuries to 5 people, including a 3-year-old girl, with explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds to various parts of their bodies. Several multi-story buildings, a hospital, a food and non-food goods base, and private residences were damaged. In total, the russian military damaged 21 infrastructure objects.

The platforms formed by the Ukrainian army on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast had certain achievements. The Ukrainian forces succeeded in driving the Russians out of their positions and consolidating there. According to  Andrii Kovaliov, Spokesperson of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one of the main goals of the Defense Forces is to push the russian army as far away from the right bank of the Dnipro as possible to protect the residents of Kherson from constant shelling. Since the formation of the platforms and their establishment on the left bank, russian forces have lost over 1,200 personnel, and over 2,200 have been injured. Additionally, 24 tanks, 89 artillery systems and mortars, 135 various vehicles, 48 armoured combat vehicles, 9 MLRSs, 14 amphibious vehicles, 15 special vehicles, 4 command posts, and 129 ammunition depots were destroyed. The South Operational Command confirmed the losses of the enemy over the past day – 6 occupiers, a field supply point, and a UAV control point. Reconnaissance of battle results was complicated by difficult weather conditions.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi awarded Andrii Yakubenko from Kherson oblast with the  For Military Service to Ukraine medal. Andrii has participated in combat operations in Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts since the beginning of the full-scale war. He was later seriously wounded, losing his arm. After a lengthy treatment and rehabilitation, Andrii initiated a training course for people with high limb amputations and now shares his rehabilitation experience.

With the support of the humanitarian mission World Central Kitchen, new water purification filters have been installed in Mala Shestirnia community. Residents of Mala Shestirnia, Novohryhorivka, Fedorivka, Topolyne, and Kniazivka will now have access to quality drinking water.

A mobile orthodontic brigade will operate in Posad-Pokrovske until December 10. The project is implemented by Kherson City Dental Clinic with the support of the Netherlands government, the LifeLine Ukraine Foundation, and the International Foundation Rebirth of Ukraine.

Residents of Kherson oblast are weaving camouflage suits for Ukrainian defenders. They have established a workshop employing 13 people. Eight suits are made here every week. The materials are purchased by the craftswomen themselves, and local residents also contribute charitable donations. The camouflage suits are made taking into account the advice and preferences of the military. 258 kikimors (camouflage suits) have been produced. The volunteers also bake, prepare and send food packages to the military.

Libraries of Lutsk community participated in the Polish Shelf in Ukraine pilot project and received new Polish literature in the amount of 60 copies free of charge.

Zakarpattia oblast

Within the framework of the Childhood Address initiative of the first lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, together with Kamian community and the Liudyna v Bidi Slovak Republic in Zakarpattia international humanitarian organization are creating their own project of a modern, comfortable and barrier-free environment for new families. The project is planned to be completed in 2024 and the ready-made housing will be handed over to individual families who will take in at least 5 orphans and children deprived of parental care for upbringing and cohabitation.

A meeting of the Coordinating Council on IDPs was held in Uzhhorod City Council. In particular, they discussed the results of the delegation’s work at the All-Ukrainian Forum of IDP Councils, which had taken place in Kyiv in early November.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ruslan Marcinkiv, Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, volunteers of the Prykarpattia Volunteer Union NGO with the support of the city have made 200 trips to the front.

Lviv oblast

This weekend the VII All-Ukrainian charity festival-competition of folk, classical, modern and ballroom choreography AUTUMN NOVEMBER -2023 was held in the village of Sokilnyky, Lviv oblast, in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine within the For you, Warrior! artistic project. UAH 85 225 was collected to support the Ukrainian military. Almost UAH 900K was collected during 7 charity festivals.

Rivne oblast

10 communities of Rivne oblast received cars for police officers. Currently, there are already 108 community police officers working in Rivne oblast. They serve in all 64 communities. There are 92 police stations in the oblast, and officers have 107 official cars.

Ternopil oblast

At the extraordinary session of Ternopil City Council, over UAH 22 mln was additionally allocated for the needs of military formations. With these funds, equipment, spare parts, quadcopters, equipment and accessories for them, as well as self-powered devices and other necessary things will be purchased.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

A safety classroom has been established for over 350 students of Hvardiiskyi Lyceum. The classroom is equipped with interactive equipment, appropriate didactic materials from UNICEF and has several thematic locations. The 1st class was conducted by trainers of the Educational and Methodological Center of Civil Protection and Life Safety of Khmelnytskyi oblast.

Chernivtsi oblast

Residents of Vanchikovets community sent humanitarian aid, namely clothes, food and other necessary things, to residents of Kherson oblast.

In Vyzhnytskyi region, in Banilivsk support lyceum named after Ivan Diyakoniuk, a major repair of the shelter is underway. UAH 1,249 mln has been allocated for the construction of shelters. These are funds from the state subvention and partly from the local budget.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister, announced that Japan will provide €160 mln for the economic recovery of Ukraine.

Ukraine received 100 fans worth over EUR 30K each from Hungary. They were sent to Lviv oblast and immediately distributed among medical institutions in Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Poltava, Donetsk oblasts, Kyiv and Lviv.

Lloyd Austin, US Defense Minister arrived in Kyiv. “I am here today to convey an important message that the United States will continue to support Ukraine in its struggle for freedom against the russian aggression, both now and in the future,” he said. The unannounced visit of the US Defense Minister to Ukraine takes place two days before the next Ramstein.

In Lithuania, fines will be imposed for non-compliance with sanctions, and money will be provided for the restoration of Ukraine. “The goal is for Lithuania to make a single contribution to the recovery of Ukraine and to demonstrate its firm commitment to supporting Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression,” said Jovita Neliupsene, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, held a meeting with Lachlan Murdoch, CEO of Fox Corporation. They discussed the war in Ukraine and its support.

18-year-old Sofia Tereshchenko, 17-year-old Anastasia Feskova and Anastasia Demchenko from Ukraine received the International Children’s Peace Prize in Great Britain. The girls developed applications for refugee children.
