It has been the 470th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian federation continues to wage the war by completely violating the International Humanitarian Law. They are using terror tactics and creating disasters on the territory of Ukraine. 

The enemy carried out 1 missile and 27 air strikes, about 30 MLRS attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas. 

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile and air strikes. 

The enemy is concentrating its main efforts towards Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Mariinka. Heavy battles are raging for every square meter. There were 26 combat clashes on some areas of the front. 

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the operational situation has not changed significantly. No signs of formation of enemy offensive groups were detected. Separate units of the armed forces of the russian federation are stationed at the training grounds of the republic of belarus. 

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas with Ukraine by strengthening military units involving territorial defense troops. The enemy carried out airstrikes on the settlements of Myropillia, Sinne and Severynivka, Sumy oblast. They shelled from mortar and artillery on the settlements of Atynske, Bezsalivka, Myropillia and Ponomarenka, Sumy oblast, as well as Krasne, Morokhovets, Lukiantsi, Staritsa, Hatysche, Vovchansk, Chuhunivka, Kharkiv oblast. 

Towards Kupiansk, Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Kislivka, Tabaivka, Berestov, Kharkiv oblast and Novoselivske, Luhansk oblast were shelled from artillery and mortar. 

Towards Lyman, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the Vesely area, Donetsk region. Makiivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast and Verkhniokamianske, Torske, Spirne and Rozdolivka of the Donetsk oblast were hit with artillery. 

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy tried to improve the tactical position, carried out offensive actions towards Ivanovske, but was unsuccessful. They carried out an airstrike in the area of the settlement of Bila Hora, Donetsk oblast. Vasiukivka, Minkivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanovske, Stupochki, Oleksandro-Shultine, Bila Hora, Druzhba, Toretsk, north of Donetsk oblast were shelled from artillery. 

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy made unsuccessful offensive attempts near Severne and Opytne. They launched airstrikes in Avdiivka region and shelled from artillery the areas of settlements of Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, Karlivka, Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Mariinka, our defenders repelled all enemy attacks in the area of the city of Mariinka. The enemy suffered losses. At the same time, the enemy shelled from artillery in the vicinity of Mariinka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy shelled the settlements of Vuhledar, Shakhtarske, Zolota Niva and Vremivka, Donetsk oblast. The enemy is on the defensive towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. They launched an airstrike in the Huliaipole area, Zaporizhzhia oblast. They shelled from artillery Burlatske, Zelene Pole, Novosilka, Novopil, and Temyrivka settlements, Donetsk oblast; Olhivske, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Bilohiria and Kamianske, Zaporizhzhia oblast; Berislav, Antonivka, Kherson oblast and the city of Kherson. 

Russian occupiers are taking advantage of their crimes committed in the settlements of the temporarily captured territory of Kherson oblast. People who evacuated from flooded settlements are resettled in boarding houses and recreation centers where military units are already stationed. The invaders try to protect themselves by covering themselves with the civilian population. 

According to available information, the russian military leadership has significant issues with the material support of its troops. Soldiers who recently signed a contract in the military units stationed in the city of Volgograd were given boots instead of high-toed shoes. In addition, they are forced to buy military uniforms at their own expense. 

The aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched 18 strikes on personnel concentration areas and 2 strikes on the enemy’s anti-aircraft missile systems. 

Units of rocket troops and artillery struck 5 control points, 6 areas of buildup of manpower, weapons and military equipment, 2 anti-aircraft missile complexes, 8 artillery units in firing positions and 2 more important enemy facilities.


Kherson RMA reported that 2,198 people were evacuated from Kherson oblast. People are accommodated in dormitories; individuals with reduced mobility are sent to hospitals. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informed that Ukraine agreed with the UN on evacuation of people from the occupied left bank territory immediately after receiving access and security guarantees from russia. 

Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar advised that local residents of the temporarily occupied territories disregard the orders of the occupying administrations and distrust russian propaganda. Truthful information about the situation at the front line is spreading among citizens, hence the number of pro-Ukrainian population is increasing.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at least 14 settlements were under mortar and artillery attack by russian federation.

Yesterday, the enemy attacked settlements in Kharkiv, Kupiansk and Chuhuiv regions with artillery, mortars, tanks and rocket launchers.

In Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, 6 private residential buildings, a car and a civilian enterprise were damaged. Fires broke out.

In Strilecha village, Kharkiv region, the enemy hit an apartment building with a tank. An apartment on the 5th floor was destroyed and a fire broke out.

Around 11 pm, the enemy hit Malynivka village, Chuhuiv region, with an S-300 air defence system, damaging a civilian enterprise. There were no casualties.

Yesterday at about 1:45 pm a 39-year-old man tripped a butterfly mine in a field near Havrylivka village, Chuhuiv region. He was hospitalised with an injury.

Mine clearance is ongoing. Yesterday pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service defused 131 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

Ukrainian troops on the flanks of Bakhmut went 1.2 kilometres deep into russian army positions and pushed the invaders back across the canal.

Children from Ukrainsk, who were injured during artillery shelling the day before, are being treated in a hospital in Selydove, they are in a critical psychological condition.

Towards Bakhmut, Ukrainian troops continue to actively counterattack. Yesterday, they advanced 1600 metres on the southern and northern flanks and eliminated 120 russian invaders.

Yesterday, russian troops shelled 7 cities and settlements. As a result of the shelling, there were casualties, including children, and damaged 21 residential buildings.

The night before, russians shelled Ukrainsk, Selydove community, with 152mm artillery, killing 3 people and injuring 5, including a 4-year-old boy; three children were injured, including a 4-year-old boy and girl and a 13-year-old girl. 14 apartment blocks and 2 private buildings were damaged. The injured are being provided with all necessary medical aid.

Towards Volnovakha, russians launched an airstrike on Neskuchne, Velyka Novosilka community, damaging buildings on 4 streets.

Towards Donetsk, Kurakhove community was under attack three times. In the morning, the enemy launched 4 rockets at Avdiivka, injuring 1 person.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was injured in Toretsk. Three buildings, two administrative buildings and one infrastructure facility were damaged. Three buildings were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. In the evening, the outskirts of Kostiantynivka were shelled.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration reported that yesterday Russians killed 3 civilians in Ukrainsk. Another 7 people were injured in the region over the day.

Luhansk oblast

Luhansk Regional Military Administration said that Hrekivka suffered from russian shelling. In the so-called “luhansk people’s republic” they recruit militants by posting ads on poles. In Lysychansk they looted apartments whose owners “confirmed their ownership” to the occupation authorities.

The invaders also shelled Novoselivske, Makiivka, Nevske and Bilohorivka. They also launched air strikes on Stelmakhivka and Bilohorivka.

Residents of Antratsyt informed that military enlistment offices are no longer able to provide the required number of men for russian army. Therefore, the invaders took a “decisive” step by spreading announcements about recruitment to the artillery division in the city.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

KCSA reported that Kyiv handed over 4 motorized pumps, 32 biological water purification stations, two inflatable boats and two heat guns to Kherson. Summer sleeping bags, thermoses, dishes and more than two tons of canned meat and vegetables were also sent from the capital.

The city of Pereyaslav is collecting aid for victims in the Kherson oblast. Water vehicles will be transported for the Tyaginka community, and food, drinking water, and feed for pets will be delivered from the city. A utility crew will be sent to help. Also in Bucha, local residents and volunteers collected 6.5 tons of humanitarian goods for the affected residents of the South per day.

Boyarka City Council reported that the hospital in the city of Boyarka received an alternative climate control system from benefactors. Help was provided by Ukrainian entrepreneurs as part of the charity challenge “League of Heat”.

Irpin City Council reported that students of the after-school education center in Irpin painted shell fragments, turning former ammunition into art objects. Fragments of neutralized shells were transferred to the center by sappers. The products will be exhibited at a charity auction, and the proceeds will be used to strengthen the protection of sappers in their work.

To save the life of a 15-year-old boy, for the first time during a full-scale invasion, the Ministry of Internal Affairs raised a helicopter into the sky. In a Kyiv hospital, a heart transplant was performed on a teenager with cardiomyopathy. A helicopter was needed to deliver the donor organ from Vinnytsia to Kyiv in a timely manner – the doctors only had a few hours for this.

A multifunctional space for military women has opened in Kyiv. Hub was founded by the volunteer project ArmWomemNow, which has been supplying female defenders with military uniforms since the start of the full-scale war. At ArmWomemHub, servicewomen will receive psychological help, mentoring support and social rehabilitation services.

An interactive exhibition dedicated to the partnership between Ukraine and the European Union is taking place in Kyiv. The thanksgiving exhibition, initiated by the KCSA, consists of 28 exhibits in the form of cubic structures – they can be found in various districts of the capital. Each exposition is dedicated to a separate European country and tells what kind of help it provided to Ukraine.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr Regional State Administration reported that the oblast sent 8 buses with humanitarian cargo to Kherson oblast. The cars were loaded with generators, fuel, medicine, life jackets, rubber boots, food, etc. 10 doctors and 20 volunteers went to help local residents. Also, 4,000 places were prepared in Zhytomyr oblast to accommodate evacuated residents.

Zhytomyr mayor Serhiy Sukhomlin reported that 115 pumps, foodstuffs and drinking water were delivered to Kherson from Zhytomyr. Kherson residents were also given a powerful pump with a generator for the Kherson waterworks. “This huge pump is very necessary for the enterprise, there are many floods,” said Serhiy Sukhomlyn, returning from Kherson.

More than 3,000 people with disabilities were taken in by the Zhytomyr oblast as internally displaced persons during a full-scale invasion, there are 1,594 women and 1,443 men among them.

Sumy oblast

Sumy RMA reported that the occupiers shelled 9 communities in the Sumy oblast, causing 153 explosions in their territories. Bilopillia, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Seredina-Buda, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske and Velyka Pysarivka communities came under fire. The occupiers fired from mortars and artillery. In the Seredyna-Buda community, as a result of mortar fire – 31 explosions – the building of the village council, the church and the former kindergarten were damaged. In the Khotyn community, where the enemy dropped 7 mines, the warehouses of an entrepreneur were damaged and 4 tons of wheat were destroyed, and a truck was also damaged.

Sumy RMA reported that the russian military hit again the border communities of the Sumy oblast. The occupiers made 5 mortar strikes on the Nova Sloboda community, and 4 on the territory of Seredina-Buda region. The Myropillia community was attacked by a UAV: a Shahed drone hit the school premises, and a fire broke out. Another one attacked a grocery store, and the third attacked a non-residential premises. In the Mykolaiv community, the Shahed UAV damaged the hangar and granary of a local agricultural company, and also damaged tractor equipment.

Myropillia village council reported that russian drones hit a local school and recreation center in the village of Sinne, Myropillia community. The headman of the village, Oleksandr Hukov, reported that the canteen of the local lyceum was destroyed due to an enemy UAV Shahed hit.

Sumy regional prosecutor’s office reported that a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the fact of attacks by the russian army on the civilian infrastructure of the Yunakivka community. According to the investigation, on June 7, 2023, at around 3:15 a.m., the russian military carried out a drone attack on the territory of the community – two people died due to a fire in a private house, and another was hospitalized.

The Sumy Society for the Protection of Animals sent 12 cars to the Kherson oblast to evacuate four-legged animals. Volunteers report that the process of removing the animals is delayed due to the need to follow them in boats. Sumy volunteers are already preparing enclosures for new residents.

A museum of burned russian equipment has been created on the outskirts of the city of Lebedyn. Most of the exhibits are the remains of destroyed or captured enemy combat vehicles during active hostilities. The improvised museum-cemetery of enemy equipment allows you to explore the chronology of military operations in the oblast: destroyed tanks, armored personnel carriers and artillery installations preserve the Ukrainians’ own history of struggle. Thus, one of the tanks was shot by the russian military because a local resident, taking advantage of the temporary absence of the occupiers, hung a Ukrainian flag on the enemy vehicle.

Chernihiv oblast

Residents of Chernihiv collect aid for Kherson oblast. The collected humanitarian cargo will be sent to Kherson on June 9 after lunch. Drinking water, hygiene products, pharmaceutical and cleaning products, animal feed, food, etc. will be sent to the victims.

In the village of Yagidne, the school, whose basement was turned into a concentration camp by the russian military during the occupation, will be turned into a museum to preserve the memory of these terrible events. Chernihiv Industrial Dairy Company provided assistance in the amount of UAH 483,000 to restore the roof of the premises destroyed by enemy shelling.

An art festival was held in Nizhyn in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The event was held as part of the XX All-Ukrainian Junior Competition of Musical and Performing Arts. Creative teams and soloists from various musical and cultural educational institutions took part – all collected funds are intended for the defenders of Ukraine.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to the head of the Nikopol district administration, two water utilities have suspended operations due to a drop in the water level in the Kakhovka reservoir. Late in the evening, Russians shelled the settlements of Marhanets and Myrove. No people were injured. Specialists of the State Emergency Service are inspecting the explosion sites.

Coastal villages in the Nikopol region have been severely affected by the explosion of a hydroelectric power station. There are problems with technical water. The authorities urge people to reduce the amount of water they use for irrigation and use it only for drinking. It is essential to boil water or use bottled water due to the threat of intestinal infections.

A massive fish pestilence occurred in Marianske, Kryvyi Rih region. The massive mortality of fish was caused by the rapid shallowing of the reservoir due to blowing up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station by russians. More than 850 kilograms of fish died. This is approximately 28 thousand fish.

The damage caused by the occupiers to the region’s fisheries is more than UAH 7.6 million.

In Pokrov, centralized water supply has been suspended due to a drop in the water level in the Kakhovka reservoir.

Kamianske joins the evacuation of animals from the flooded areas of Kherson oblast. The team of the “Animal Shelter” Municipal Establishment of the Kamianske City Council is going to the Kherson oblast to evacuate animals.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​Two trucks, each carrying 20 tonnes of humanitarian aid for Kherson oblast, are leaving Vinnytsia. The food, drinking water and necessary equipment were collected in one day.

Ukrenerho is urging residents of Vinnytsia and other oblasts to reduce the load on the power grid in the evening. Hydroelectric power plants located on the Dnipro River upstream of Kakhovka HPP are reducing their output which is necessary to reduce the level of flooding.

Kirovohrad oblast

Oleksandriia is ready to help those affected by the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. The city is already arranging places to receive evacuees from the flooded areas of Kherson oblast. The Alexandria-based NGO Zoodopomoha is getting ready to take in animals rescued after the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station explosion.

Poltava oblast

Poltava Regional Military Administration reported the decision to transfer part of the material reserve to Kherson oblast to help eliminate the consequences of the russian army’s attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.  5 boats, 2 boat engines, 10,000 litres of fuel, motor pumps and hoses, lifebuoys and vests, 2 air heaters, and bulletproof vests will be transferred there. UAH 10 million will also be allocated from the regional budget to help Kherson oblast. Poltava is also collecting aid for people from Kherson oblast who suffered as a result of the russian army’s explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.

Cherkasy oblast

Cherkasy-based journalist Viktoria Hamaza came under fire (was shot) while evacuating victims of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station explosion. According to Victoria Hamaza, the russian army is conducting targeted shelling. There are already casualties among both volunteers and civilians. The Russian troops hit the places of evacuation. The shelling began during the evacuation of citizens whose homes were flooded. At least 8 people were reported injured.

Foresters in Vinnytsia and Cherkasy regions are ready to shelter the victims of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station explosion. Currently, 286 places have been arranged in the branches. In particular, 160 places in Vinnytsia oblast and 126 in Cherkasy oblast.

Humanitarian aid was delivered from Cherkasy oblast to Kherson oblast. This includes drinking water, food, and construction materials. Cherkasy oblast is also ready to take in the affected residents of Kherson oblast.

In the Novodmitrovskaya community, a social assistance centre organised a holiday for children who lost their parents in the war. They came with their mothers or grandparents. The kids played games, danced and modelled.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reports that russian troops fired 148 times at the territory of Zaporizhzhia region. They struck at the settlements of Zaporizhzhia, Polohy and Vasylivka regions.

Residents of the temporarily occupied Berdiansk, Zaporizhzhia oblast, complain about the state of the water supply. The head of the city’s military administration, Victoria Galitsyna, explained that the city uses water from an alternative source, not the main one.

Oleksandr Chub, head of the Tokmak Military Administration reported that in the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia oblast, russians are filling up the Tokmachka River, and the invaders are trying to raise the water level to stop the Ukrainian army’s counteroffensive. 

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that on June 7, air defense forces in southern Ukraine shot down an Orlan-10 UAV and a Lancet strike UAV.

Evacuations of villagers flooded by the russians’ explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station are continuing in Mykolaiv oblast. An additional headquarters has been set up and is working around the clock in the Snihurivska and Horokhivska communities. Currently, 274 houses are flooded, and 467 people have been evacuated from the affected villages. There have been some casualties already. Although the pace of water rise is slowing down, the situation is complicated by the fact that the Southern Bug and Inhulets rivers have their currents. Additionally, since the Dnipro water has blocked access to the sea, the river levels remain high. As for Mykolaiv, there may be some flooding, but there is no critical situation that would require the evacuation of the city.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the southern regions today, which have been affected by the flooding caused by the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. In the Mykolaiv region, Zelenskyy visited the Main Pumping Station of the Inhulets River Canal Authority, which was also flooded. The President observed the evacuation efforts and the provision of drinking water and essential food to residents.

Odesa oblast

As a result of the water breakthrough following the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam, the current is carrying debris, rubble, boats, and building structures, some of which have been swept into the Black Sea. The streams have also disrupted the minefields set up by the occupiers on the left bank. Currently, a significant number of mines are drifting downstream in the water. One of these anti-landing mines was washed ashore in the Odesa region, and the Ukrainian military safely destroyed it in a controlled manner, as reported by the South Operational Command.

Police officers from Odesa, serving in Kherson oblast, are also assisting in the evacuation of residents from the flooded areas. They are providing help to everyone, with priority given to those who are unable to escape the water trap on their own, such as the elderly, disabled individuals, and families with small children. On land, citizens are receiving medical care, and evacuation teams are promptly transporting them to the centralized collection and assistance points.

The Ambassador of Belgium to Ukraine, Peter Van de Velde, visited the port of Odesa to discuss the operations of the Grain Initiative. The ambassador assessed the port’s capacities and cargo handling capabilities. However, the main topic of the meeting was to discuss the functionality of the “grain corridor.”

Kherson oblast

The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin reported that the russian army is shelling the coastal areas and the center of Kherson region. 

In the afternoon, the russian army fired at the evacuation site in Kherson. Nine people were wounded. Among them are two employees of the State Emergency Service, a policeman, a doctor and a volunteer from Germany. They are being provided with medical care, said the head of the OVA Prokudin.

The russian army shelled Beryslav and Beryslav region with guided aerial bombs. A woman died under the rubble of a house. Another local resident was wounded, the prosecutor’s office reported.

“Russian troops shelled the village of Chervonyi Mayak with artillery. They also shelled Odradokamyanka with phosphorus bombs. Houses and outbuildings were damaged. No one was killed or wounded,” said Volodymyr Litvinov, head of Beryslav district administration.

“30 people with hypothermia were taken to Oleshky hospital. So far, nine people have been reported dead in Oleshky. Due to the lack of communication, it is impossible to establish the exact number of missing persons.

The center of Oleshky remains unaffected. Residents cannot leave the water trap.  The russian military does not allow them to leave the city and does not allow them to get to educational institutions, where it is now dry. Russian troops are also driving people out of dry buildings and settling on the upper floors of apartment buildings. Today, russian troops shelled a school where people from flooded houses were staying. There were no casualties,” said Tetiana Hasanenko, head of the Oleshky school.

Today, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, visited the southern regions affected by flooding caused by the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. The Head of State visited the Kherson region, where he held a coordination meeting on liquidation of the dam’s consequences. In Kherson, the Head of State visited the crossing point for the evacuation of the population from the flooded areas. He also visited a medical facility in Kherson, where people affected by the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant are being treated.

There is a critical rise in the water level in the Ingulets River. The town of Kalinovskoye and the villages of Zapovit, Krasnolyubetsk, Bobrovy Kut are in the flood zone,” said Volodymyr Litvinov, head of Beryslav District Administration.

In Nova Kakhovka, the water is receding, it is below Dniprovsky Avenue. People have been allowed to check their homes. The worst situation is in Korsunka. Almost all residents have left there on their own. The occupation authorities are not engaged in evacuation. This was reported by the mayor Volodymyr Kovalenko.

As of 18:00, 2,334 people have been evacuated from the flooded area in Kherson region. More than 30% of the right bank of the region and almost 70% of the left bank are under water. The water level in the Kakhovka Reservoir has decreased by more than a meter over the past day.

In Tokarivka, Ponyativka, Novotyanka and Ivanivka in Kherson region, the water level has dropped by an average of 20 centimeters. Now it is 6.15 meters. In general, in the right-bank part of the region, the water level remains at 5.61 meters.

Due to the flooding, 129 transformer substations in Kherson were disconnected. The power grids of the Ostrov neighborhood were the most affected – 82 transformer substations were completely flooded. In the region, 30 transformer substations in Dariivka, Mykilske, Ingulka and Zarichne were shut down due to flooding.

Due to the flooding of certain areas of Kherson, gas pipelines in four settlements of Bilozerska and Darievka communities have been partially shut down. Gas supply to 14,716 consumer facilities was cut off.

In 21 wells in the communities bordering the reservoir, the water level has dropped critically. In addition, another 80 wells are being monitored for their condition for further operation. This was reported by the Kherson Regional Water Administration.

Yesterday, russian occupiers fired 34 times at civilian settlements in Kherson oblast. They fired 193 shells from artillery, mortars, Grad and drones. The enemy attacked Kherson once, firing 2 shells at the city. This was reported by Kherson Military District Administration.

Russian occupiers are resettling people who were evacuated from flooded areas to boarding houses with the military. Thus, they are trying to save themselves, hiding behind civilians. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The United Nations will send evacuation teams and humanitarian aid to the flooded occupied territories of the left bank of the Kherson region when russia provides them with safe passage from Ukraine and other security guarantees. This agreement with the UN was announced by Foreign Minister Kuleba. Following the meeting, it was agreed that the organization would increase the amount of aid for the flooded regions.

The flooding in Kherson region will contaminate the soil, which will take 30-40 years to recover. Also, some oil products will flow downstream into the Dnipro-Bug estuary and then into the Black Sea. 

Certain species of flora and fauna of Kherson region’s wetlands, which are currently underwater, will be extinct. Among them are those listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. This was reported by the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The RMA reported that from Volyn was sent humanitarian aid, namely a loader, an excavator, a truck, a tow truck, a gas station, a truck and a diesel generator, to eliminate the consequences of the explosion of Kakhovka HPP.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Levente Modyor, Deputy Minister of Foreign Economy and Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Parliamentary State Secretary. Humanitarian and investment projects were discussed.

The oblast received 34 passenger buses from the Volánbusz Zrt Hungarian company.

The RMA reported that 8 humanitarian aid trucks and passenger buses were sent from the oblast to Kherson oblast.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA held a meeting with David Novi ,Consul General of the Czech Republic in Lviv, Vladimir Kadlec, Consul of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Lviv and representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. Cooperation and support of the oblast were discussed.

Over UAH 207K were collected as part of the Road to Victory charity concert tour. The collected funds were donated to the Carpathian 102 separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Lviv oblast

During the meeting with Oleksandr Kubrakov, Vice-Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – the Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure and Adina Velyan, European Commissioner for Transport in Lviv RMA, they discussed the possibility of opening the Lviv Airport. His potential discovery and about the safety of such a step was discussed.

The RMA reported that the City Hall of the German city of Duren sent 4 minibuses to Strii community.

Charity events were held in 50 kindergartens in Lviv as part of the Thank you to the Defender for the Right campaign. The collected UAH 349K was spent to purchase two military vehicles, a thermal imager and a quadcopter.

Rivne oblast

The RMA held a meeting with a military delegation from Latvia led by Colonel Oleksandr Golmanov, defense attache of the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Ukraine. They discussed the organization of civil-military cooperation, evacuation of the population and the reception of refugees.

In Rivne oblast, 25 military families will receive funds for housing. The oblast received funds from the state budget of UAH 50.6 million to purchase housing for families of military personnel, including dead and displaced persons.

Ternopil oblast

Foresters of Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi and Chernivtsi oblasts are ready to receive over 260 evacuees from Kherson oblast. Employees of branches and forestry quickly prepared places of residence for people who suffered as a result of the russian occupiers blowing up the reservoir dam of Kakhovka hydroelectric plant.

The Ternopil City Council From reported that 35 sets of summer clothes (jackets and pants), all the necessary tools (metal drills, two grinders, sets of keys), 11 DJI mavic 3 quadcopters and one DJI mavic 3E quadcopter were sent to the frontline.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Anica Dzamich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Croatia in Ukraine. They discussed the issue of support for IDPs.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA and the Action Against Hunger international non-governmental humanitarian organization signed a memorandum of cooperation, which will strengthen cooperation in providing humanitarian aid to IDPs, preparing and implementing psychological support measures, initiatives and projects.

Places of compact residence of IDPs received humanitarian aid, namely, 15 washer-dryers, 13 refrigerators, 15 gas stoves, and 9 microwave ovens, from the Chernivtsi regional organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Tkachuk,  Bukovyna director, screenwriter and photographer, and now a defender-warrior, was honored with a high award the 3th  degree For Loyal Service Medal of the Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported that the UN and Ukraine agreed on  evacuation of victims from the occupied territories after the explosion of Kakhovka HPP. UN units will go to the affected areas in the temporarily occupied territories as soon as russia provides access and security guarantees.

Alexander Shallenberg, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, announced that the government will provide IAEA with EUR 1 million to support nuclear safety activities in Ukraine.

The United Kingdom allocated an additional 750K pounds to IAEA to continue its work in Ukraine.

Britain expanded sanctions against Belarus for supporting the russian federation. Great Britain introduces a ban on the import of gold, cement, wood and rubber from Belarus, prohibits the supply of dual purpose goods, industrial equipment and currency notes to belarus. In addition, Britain wants to prevent the spread of propaganda by belarusian media companies.

The White House officially announced the visit of Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, to Washington on June 12 and his meeting with Joe Biden, where they will discuss support for Ukraine.

The Louvre will accept 16 works of art from Ukraine. The operation to save 16 selected works was supported by the International Alliance for Protection of Heritage in Conflict Zones. Among works protected by the Louvre are five Byzantine icons from Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko Museum. Four icons dating from the 6th and 7th centuries, and the fifth, from the end of the 13th or beginning of the 14th century.

Eli Cohen, Israel’s Foreign Minister, said that his government considers russians guilty of undermining Kakhovka HPP. Israel is currently considering options for humanitarian aid to Ukraine due to the disaster.

In Israel, the street with the russian consulate will be named in honor of Serhii Balanchuk, a Ukrainian football player who was killed in the war.
