It has been the 797th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6pm:   

During the day of 30 April, there were 96x tactical engagements.

The enemy launched a total of 1x missile and 29x airstrikes, 109x MLRS attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements.

Volyn and Polissia axes: no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group.

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the adversary maintains its military presence in the russian areas bordering Ukraine. The enemy conducts subversion, continues shelling of Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the concentration of mining operations along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Vodolahy, Yamne (Sumy oblast), Vesele, Kharkiv, Vovchansk (Kharkiv oblast). More than 30x settlements, including Khrinivka (Chernihiv oblast), Korenok, Volfyne, Velyka Berizka, Yunakivka (Sumy oblast), came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Kupiansk and Lyman axes: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 3x attacks in the vicinities of Berestove and Kopanky (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10x settlements, including Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Kotliarivka (Kharkiv oblast).

Lyman axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 16x attacks in the vicinities of Novoiehorivka, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Serebrianka forestry (Luhansk oblast), Terny (Donetsk oblast). The adversary launched an airstrike in the area of Serebrianka forestry. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10x settlements, including Makiivka, Nevske (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Yampolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Bakhmut axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 24x attacks in the vicinities of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Verkhnokamianske, Rozdolivka, Spirne, Novyi, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Chasiv Yar (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy attempted to improve its tactical position. More than 10x settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Rozdolivka, Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, Andriivka (Donetsk oblast).

Avdiivka axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 23x attacks in the vicinities of Arkhanhelske, Keramik, Sokil, Umanske, Yasnobrodivka, Netailove (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy made attempts to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions. The adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Novobakhmutivka and Yevhenivka (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 20x settlements, including Arkhanhelske, Novopokrovske, Umanske (Donetsk oblast).

Novopavlivka axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy near Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka and Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast), where the invaders, with air support, made 10x attempts to breach Ukrainian defence. The invaders launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Kostiantynivka (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10x settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka, Kostiantynivka (Donetsk oblast).

Orikhiv axis: the enemy, using air attacks, launched 2x assaults on positions of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinities of Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast) and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Enemy airstrikes hit vicinities of Storozheve (Donetsk oblast) and Mala Tokmachka (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Around 15x settlements, including Malynivka, Bilohiria, Robotyne, Shcherbaky (Zaporizhzhia oblast), were under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

Kherson axis: the enemy does not abandon its intention to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. In particular during the day of 30 April, the invaders executed 2x unsuccessful assaults on positions of Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of Krynky (Kherson oblast). The adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Mykhailivka, Tiahynka, Yantarne (Kherson oblast). The occupiers fired artillery and mortars at around 20 settlements, including Mykolaivka, Olhivka, Tiahynka, Ivanivka, Tokarivka (Kherson oblast).

During the day of 30 April, the Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 12x concentrations of enemy troops.

The Ukrainian Missile Forces hit 1x concentration of russian troops.

Serhii Chaus, Head of Chasiv Yar City Military Administration, reported that there are still 682 civilians in Chasiv Yar. The situation is difficult to evacuate these people. Elderly people remain in the town.

Dmytro Lazutkin, Spokesman of the Ministry of Defence, informed that Ukrainian defenders can receive a monetary reward for the destruction of russian equipment. The largest amount of payment can be received for the elimination of a first-rank ship. It is noted that for an enemy military vehicle, you can get UAH 12,180, for a tank – UAH 48,720. Instead, the largest payout for the destruction of a first-rate ship is over UAH 243,000. In addition, more than UAH 40,000 can be received for the destruction of armoured vehicles and more than UAH 100,000 for the destruction of an aircraft or helicopter.


Serhii Kyslytsia, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, said that Ukrainian exports from the Black Sea ports have reached pre-war levels. In total, 25m tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products were exported from the ports of Pivdennyi, Odesa and Chornomorsk, reaching pre-war levels. Ukrainian agricultural products are delivered to 40 countries via an alternative sea corridor.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in the evening report that russians stormed Kupiansk three times near Berestove and Kopanky.y.

About 10 settlements in the oblast were under artillery and mortar attack.

Ukrainian troops noticed the intensification of the russian army towards Kupiansk. According to Nadiia Zamryha, Spokeswoman of the 14th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great, russia is deploying personnel, weapons and equipment.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration,  informed that the invaders attacked Kholodnohirskyi and Kyivskyi districts. 9 people were injured and one person killed as a result of enemy shelling of Kharkiv.

The deceased was a 24-year-old man, a civilian who worked at an enterprise. He was at work when russians launched an airstrike and died as a result of shrapnel wounds.

Among the nine injured, three women aged 28, 38, 40 and one 42-year-old man were hospitalised, all with explosive injuries. Five people were treated on the spot, most of them suffering from acute stress reaction.

The first hit was recorded in Kyivskyi district, on the territory of a garage cooperative and a nearby administrative building. More than 40 garages were destroyed. Three cars caught on fire and 6 more were injured. A second strike was launched at Kholodnohirskyi district, damaging two civilian buildings.

The press service of Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office said that russians hit Kharkiv with three UMPB D-30 bombs.

The day before, at 6:20pm, the invaders struck Kharkiv with two KABs, with impacts on the ground recorded in the Kyiv district. The facade and window glazing of one of the residential buildings were damaged. A 42-year-old man was injured and hospitalised in a medical facility, he is in a serious condition.

About 18 settlements in Kharkiv oblast suffered artillery and mortar attacks yesterday: Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka and others. Lyptsi, Vesele, Neskuchne, Mala Vovcha and Borova were hit by airstrikes.

On 30 April, at 2am, the invaders attacked Zahryzove village of Borova community by guided munitions. The facades and windows of 7 private houses and 2 outbuildings were damaged. There were no casualties.

At 11:30pm, a 67-year-old man was injured and a private house damaged by enemy KAB shelling in Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi settlement.

At 7:46pm, 3 houses, roofs, windows, fences were damaged as a result of shelling in Lyptsi village.

At 6:20pm, 6 private houses were damaged as a result of the shelling in Slobozhanske village of Lyptsi community. There was no information about the casualties.

At 6:20pm, 5 private houses, a garage and a summer kitchen were damaged as a result of the shelling in Lyptsi village.

At 4:40p, Vovchansk was targeted. The invaders dropped a munition on the roof of a private house from a drone, damaging the house. There were no casualties.

At 6:11pm, a 59-year-old man tripped over a Butterfly mine in a forest belt in Velyki Prokhody village of Derhachi community. He sustained mine-blast trauma and was hospitalised.

Yesterday Ukrainian troops repelled 9 attacks near Berestove and Novoserhiivka towards Kupiansk.

Combined teams of bomb experts cleared 40.45 hectares of mines and destroyed 458 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian soldiers repelled about 100 russian attacks at the frontline in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts on 29 April. In all eastern directions, except for Kupiansk, the russian army stormed with the support of aviation.

Maksym Matviichuk, Commander of the Rubizh brigade’s reconnaissance unit, said that near Chasiv Yar, the intensity of russian offensive has decreased in recent days and the system of fortifications of the Defence Forces of Ukraine prevents the occupation forces from developing success. Maksym Matviichuk, Commander of the Rubizh brigade’s reconnaissance unit, reported that at the same time, russian troops continue to try to flank the city in order to surround it and reach the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal, the capture of which would give russian units an advantage in the situation.

Yurii Fedorenko, Commander of the Achilles brigade, informed that over the next two months, the russian army will increase the number of assaults and attacks on civilian towns and the front line as the Defence Forces will receive the necessary amount of weapons and will be able to repel russian attacks.

Nazar Voloshyn, Spokesman of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group, confirmed that today, soldiers of the 95th Brigade destroyed a russian armoured column near Ocheretyne. The invaders lost tanks and several armoured vehicles.

The operational situation in the oblast as of the morning of 30 April is as follows:

Towards Pokrovsk, one person was killed and 2 injured in Krasnohorivka. The villages of Ocheretyne community were shelled. Kurakhove was shelled by artillery and Hostre by a guided aerial bomb.

Towards Kramatorsk, Terny and Yampolivka of Lyman community were shelled. Three objects in Kalynove of Illinivka community and 3 houses in Mykolayivka of Kostiantynivka community were damaged.

Towards Bakhmut, 6 private houses, an apartment building and an industrial building were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. A house was damaged in Siversk.

129 people, including 31 children, were evacuated from the frontline.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday russians killed one civilian in Krasnohorivka. Two more people were injured in the oblast over the day.

Luhansk oblast

The enemy launched 78 artillery and mortar attacks on Kuzemivka, Stelmakhivka, Makiivka and Hrekivka. 31 unmanned aerial vehicles attempted to strike the Ukrainian military positions near Nevske and Kuzemivka.

Also russian attacks were repelled near Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Tverdokhlibove, Serebrianka forest and Bilohorivka. The invaders are trying to put pressure in all directions. They are using a large number of artillery and they also launched airstrikes on Stelmakhovka and Serebrianka forest.

Yesterday, on 29 April, a resident of the liberated Nevske had to get to the pension fund to receive her pension payments. She was taken to the nearest branch, assisted with the paperwork and brought home.

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, men who try to enter or leave Sievierodonetsk are checked for military registration. If they do not have the necessary document, they are issued a summon on the spot and a statement is issued. The absence of a russian passport is no longer an obstacle to further mobilisation.

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, stated that the Ministry of Energy of the russian federation has stated that it is not going to support coal mining enterprises of the so-called “lpr”, which are not profitable and operate only at the expense of state support. They will be liquidated.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

NATO Secretary General Jens visited the National Defense University in Kyiv during his visit. He also met the officers attending the professional military education courses based on NATO standards.

Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh arrived in Kyiv for a one-day visit on Monday. She became the first member of the British royal family to visit Ukraine after the full-scale invasion of russia. Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh met with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, First Lady Olena Zelenska and paid a grievous tribute to the people of Bucha who died as a result of the russian occupation.

Serhiy Popko, Head of Kyiv CMA, announced that in the near future an Ukrainian army recruiting centre will appear on the Left Bank of Kyiv. Subsequently, for the citizens’ convenience of and work efficiency, the centres are to open in every capital district.

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko announced that the soldiers of the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Ground Forces received 20 new Toyota Hilux pickup trucks purchased with budgetary funds. In addition, 150 FPV drones and 6 Starlink drones were delivered to the frontline as charity aid.

Kyiv RMA reported that a multi-storey building at 22 Hostomel Highway in Irpin is being repaired. Before the war, more than 100 people lived in 40 apartments here. Windows and doors in the building, the ceilings and facade damaged, utilities and communications out of order.

Kyiv municipal services are starting to dismantle the composition in honour of Pereiaslav Council under the arch of “Freedom of the Ukrainian People.” Experts have previously examined the structure to ensure its integrity during dismantling and not to damage it. In the future, the monument will be stored at the Antonov State Aviation Museum of Ukraine.

Zhytomyr oblast

In Zhytomyr oblast, work continues on creating shelters in educational institutions, taking into account the principles of barrier-free accessibility for low-mobility groups, including people with disabilities. According to RMA, as of today, 1,223 of the oblasts’ 1,303 educational institutions have shelters.

On 26 April, a Community Day was held in Zhytomyr as part of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program “How are you?” The main topic for discussion at the event was: “Returning a veteran to the workplace. Interaction with veterans”.

Art therapy for military personnel has been organised in the Zhytomyr region. Recovery classes are held in the Pulyny community at the Pulynski Barvy art museum of the village council with the participation of Leonid Fesenko, an art school teacher. This time the event was joined by the wives of the Ukrainian soldiers.

Sumy oblast

At night and in the morning, the russians fired five times at Sumy oblast border areas with a total of 13 attacks with mortars, MLRS, artillery and the dropping of explosives from UAVs were recorded. Mykolaivka, Khotin, Miropillia, Bilopillia and Krasnopillia communities were shelled.

Sumy ATC informed that over the past day, the russian military fired 11 times in Sumy oblast, with a total of 73 explosions recorded. Mykolaivka, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Seredyna-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske and Yampil communities were shelled.

On 29 April , the enemy attacked Yampil community with two anti-aircraft gunships. According to RMA, The air strike destroyed a school building, but there were no people injured.

Police of Sumy oblast announced that due to russian shelling on 29 April, a private household, 2 apartment buildings, 3 cars were damaged and a school building partially destroyed. 

Sumyoblenerho reported about 91 settlements cut off from electricity supply as a result of hostilities, 17 of them partially in Sumy oblast. Most of the disconnected consumers are located in Seredyna-Buda, Bilopillia, Hlukhiv, Sumy and Velyka Pysarivka communities. 

All visits of power company employees to dangerous areas are coordinated with the military and local authorities.

Based on the information provided on telegram channel of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have destroyed two russian Buk anti-aircraft missile systems in Sumy oblast.

About 500 people remain in the five-kilometre zone of Khotyn community. The head of the community Mykola Torianyk reported that the community urges residents to move to safer places. 

Chernihiv oblast

The enemy troops fired seven times at three communities in the oblast over the past day. Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk communities were under enemy attack. A total of 44 explosions were recorded – mortar attacks, six strikes by air, and the dropping of explosive devices from a UAV.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv RMA, reported that this morning, the enemy hit the building of a grain warehouse in one of the villages of Novhorod-Siverskyi community with unmanned aerial vehicles. The hit caused a fire, which was extinguished. There were no casualties.

In Chernihiv oblast, soldiers of the Ukrainian Special Forces unit together with the Defense Forces grounded a reconnaissance UAV of the russian army. The Takhion drone, which was conducting reconnaissance in the area of the russian-Ukrainian border, was landed in good condition.

The security situation in Semenivka community deteriorated significantly in April. The russian military is actively shelling not only the border villages, but also Semenivka. Serhii Dedenko, Head of Semenivka community, stated that russians are shooting from Grad systems, artillery, launching rockets, and have started using cluster munitions. Half of the population has left because of the shelling.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

In the evening, the enemy continued to attack Nikopol region. The region’s centre and Chervonohryhorivka community were attacked. Several kamikaze drones were launched and shelled with artillery. A private house was damaged in Nikopol. Another house was damaged in Marhanets community due to a drone strike in the afternoon. There were no casualties. 

The occupants were shelling Nikopol region all day long. A total of 8 attacks on the region’s centre, Pokrovsk and Marhanets communities. Three kamikaze drones and about two dozen artillery shells were launched. In Nikopol, 3 cafes, a shop, 6 private houses, 3 power lines and an unused building were damaged. There were no casualties.

Vinnytsia oblast

The first set of future soldiers, who joined the Armed Forces through municipal recruiting centres, went to training. All of these people had previously been selected and vetted. Among them are future shooters, as well as potential moral and psychological support officers, drivers and signalmen.

Kirovohrad oblast

Kirovohrad oblast lost its defenders of Ukraine. These are Serhii Dosan and Mykhailo Shlipov.

Serhii Dosan was born in 1982. On 15 April, 2024, during a combat mission, he was seriously injured and died on 28 April, 2024.

Serhiy Shlipov, born in 1966, on 29 April, 2024, it became known that the defender was killed on 11 October, 2023, while performing military duty in the combat zone near the village of Makiivka, Luhansk oblast.

Poltava oblast

Filip Pronin, Head of Poltava Oblast Council, reported that Poltava City Council announced a tender for the purchase of 10 Chaklun UAVs. UAH 3.160m can be spent on this. 

Cherkasy oblast

Cherkasy band Krutii Zamys handed over drones to the Revenge Brigade, which is currently in Donetsk oblast. Money for the drones was raised at a fair in Kholodny Yar. Also, on the eve of the Border Guard Day, musicians sang patriotic songs for the defenders.

In Cherkasy,  3,500 Easter cakes are planned to be collected by 2 May to deliver the blessed Easter pastries to the military units. Anyone can join the campaign.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to Zaporizhzhia RMA, on 29 April, there were 254 attacks by occupiers in Zaporizhzhia oblast, targeting 7 settlements. Mala Tokmachka came under airstrike, while 96 UAVs of various types attacked Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka and Novoandriivka. Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne came under 6 MLRS attacks. 151 artillery strikes hit areas in Orihove, Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, Levadne and Maynivka. There were 19 reports of residential damage, including roofs, doors and windows in civilian houses, as well as agricultural buildings. No information regarding civilian casualties has been reported.

Dmytro Pletenchuk, Head of the press centre for the Southern Defence Forces of Ukraine, said that occupiers have been blocking trains carrying fuel from Kerch Bridge to Crimea and Melitopol for the past month due to concerns about the bridge’s structural integrity following damage sustained.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, in the Southern Military Region’s armed formations, including the occupied Melitopol, the russian military is witnessing an increase in desertions. According to intelligence sources, more than 18,000 russian military personnel have deserted their units. The majority, around 12,000 deserters, are from the 8th Combined Arms Army of the russian armed forces, which is actively involved in combat operations in eastern Ukraine. Approximately 10,000 of them were conscripted by moscow through mobilisation, while the remaining 2,000 were contracted soldiers. The desertion rate in the 58th Combined Arms Army, also part of the Southern Military District of the aggressor state’s army, is estimated at around 2,500 individuals.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitaliy Kim, Head of Mykolaiv RMA, reported that on 29 April, from 9:38am to 10:01am, Rybakivka village of Koblevo community came under artillery shelling. As a result, the power transmission line near the recreation base was damaged, with no casualties reported. Also, on 29 April, at 8:07am and 9:40am, the waters of Ochakiv community were shelled.

On 30 April, the State Ecological Inspection of the Southwest Region announced that state inspectors had assessed the environmental damage caused by the russian attack on the enterprise in Mykolaiv on 17 March and 11 April, 2024. The total amount of damage is estimated at UAH 85m. Debris from the destruction, totalling over 1,000 cbm, has polluted 3.5 sq m of land. This information has been reported to Operational Headquarters at the State Ecological Inspection of Ukraine to compile a unified register of environmental damage caused by armed aggression.

Odesa oblast

On 29 April, a russian missile strike hit the Palace of Students of the National University Odesa Law Academy. Borys Vasyliev, Vice-Rector of the International Humanitarian University, was killed, and Serhii Kivalov, Rector, injured by shrapnel to his thigh. In total, as a result of the attack on a crowded location in Odesa, 5 people were killed and 32 injured, including 2 children and a pregnant woman. A 5-year-old girl who was critically wounded in the shelling underwent heart surgery at night, and doctors are now fighting for her life. A teenager injured in the attack has been discharged. Also, 25 civilian cars, 20 residential houses and infrastructure facilities were damaged.

Odesa RMA declared 30 April a day of mourning in the oblast in connection with the victims of the russian missile attack on Odesa.

The Ukrainian Naval Forces reported that on 30 April, russian missile carriers were observed on duty in the Mediterranean Sea, while other units of the enemy fleet remained in their bases. Despite this, the threat of shelling persists, as russians may launch Kalibr missiles from their military ports.

Kherson oblast

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, reported that on 29 April, the russian military shelled multiple towns and villages in Kherson oblast, including Mykhailivka, Kizomys, Yantarne, Dniprovske, Stanislav, Beryslav, Novokair, Odradokamianka, Bilozirka, Mykolaivka, Tiahynka, Veletenske, Sadove, Inzhenerne, Berehove, Lvove and Kherson. The damage was in residential districts in these areas, with 10 private homes sustaining significant damage. There were hits on critical infrastructure, administrative buildings, cultural institutions and private vehicles. One person was killed and one injured. 

Also, Kherson RMA reported that on the morning of 30 April, the russian forces attacked Korabelnyi district of Kherson. A residential building was damaged. There is no information about the casualties.

Dmytro Pletenchuk, Head of the Strategic Communications Center of the Southern Defence Forces, informed that the russian forces attempted to storm the recently de-occupied Nestryha island in Kherson oblast. However, all enemy attempts were unsuccessful. Only this morning, on 30 April, there were 2 assaults on Nestryha, but in all these cases, the occupiers retreated with losses. “In fact, this is the last island before the river mouth“, the military explained, adding that Ukraine must protect this bridgehead from russian subversive groups.

International partners, including the Food and Agriculture Organisation with support from the governments of Japan and Norway, assisted farmers of Kherson oblast, including 73 farms in Kherson oblast receiving 300 tonnes of spring wheat seeds and 145 farmers receiving sunflower seeds.

Volyn oblast

Representatives of Lutsk community visited the 100th brigade. 2 new Mitsubishi L200 pickups, 100 8- and 10-inch FPV drones, 24 Mavic 3 drones, 17 Mavic 3T drones, Ecoflow Delta 2MAX, antennas and signal amplifiers were handed over to the military

Zakarpattia oblast

Zakarpattia became the 8th region of the country visited by fighters of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade as part of a large informational tour. Soldiers of the legendary unit held meetings with young people in educational institutions, talked with visitors to administrative service centres in Mukachevo and Uzhhorod, as well as with representatives of local mass media.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

225 fallen Heroes from Ivano-Frankivsk received the title of Honorary Citizen of Ivano-Frankivsk. At the session of the city council, deputies supported this decision. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, 357 Heroes who were killed in 2022 and 2023 have already been given the appropriate title.

Lviv oblast

14 plastic surgeons from the USA arrived in Lviv oblast. American medics have already started consultations at Lviv Okhmatdyt. This is already the 6th visit within the scope of the Reconstruction charity mission. Such cooperation with foreign specialists not only helps the victims, but also contributes to the transfer of many years of experience of specialists from the best US clinics to Ukrainian plastic surgeons.

As part of the Safe Lviv oblast program, Lviv RMA allocated funds for a tractor for the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigades. Previously, Lviv oblast reinforced the brigade with hundreds of UAVs, dozens of EW systems and vehicles. Now all this equipment performs combat tasks on the front line.

Students, parents of them and teachers of Pidhorodtsi school held a charity fair. In total, it was possible to raise over UAH 50,000. The funds will be given to graduates of the school who are currently in the war zone.

Volodymyr Kobyliukh, serviceman from Lviv oblast was posthumously awarded with the III degree For Courage Order by the President of Ukraine. The sister of the deceased serviceman received the award. Volodymyr Kobyliukh served as a machine gunner in the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade of Ukraine. Ye was killed on 23 June 2023 near Kreminna, Luhansk oblast.

Rivne oblast

Oleksandr Koval, Head of Rivne RMA, announced that Rivne oblast received the status of a partner of the Union of Baltic Cities. The decision was made during the last meeting of the association in Riga. The organisation includes over 70 cities from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Sweden. Recently, 7 Ukrainian cities have also become associate members. Rivne oblast became the 1st partner oblast rather than a city. The Union promotes the integration of Ukrainian cities into the EU and the building of long-term strategic alliances.

In Rivne oblast, the confiscated property, namely, timber, floodlights, diesel fuel and a factory-made motor pump, will be transferred for the needs of the Defense Forces. In addition, electric kettles and routers will be given to places of temporary residence where IDPs are staying.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil received the Transparent City award from Transparency International Ukraine. According to results of research, Ternopil was included in the category of Transparent municipalities and received one of the highest indicators in the rating of transparency of cities in war conditions. The Transparent cities team noted the city in the field of information about the work of the local self-government body (over 96.2%), in the field of electronic tools (over 75%). The verification of cities was carried out by analysing the official and specialised websites of city councils, departments and enterprises subordinate to them.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Slavutsk community will receive 2 used buses from Milan, which the Italian city will transfer to Ukraine as part of humanitarian aid. The buses should be delivered by the end of May.

Chernivtsi oblast

At Chernivtsi Regional Dental Center, defenders can receive dental prosthetics services free of charge. The institution operates under the Dental Prosthetics of Certain Categories of Persons Who Defended the Independence, Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity of Ukraine government program. This allows participants in hostilities, military personnel and veterans to use teeth restoration services free of charge.

A modern Center for the provision of social services was opened in Khotyn community. The Veteran’s Space (hub), the Center for Vitality, and specialised support services for victims of domestic violence and/or gender-based violence will function here.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Germany sent a new package of military aid to Ukraine, namely, 2 SKYNEX air defence systems with ammunition, an unspecified number of missiles for IRIS-TSLM air defence systems, ammunition for LEOPARD 2 tanks, almost 30,000 ammunition for GEPARD anti-aircraft tanks, 7,500 ammunition 155-mm calibre, 10 MARDER armoured personnel carriers with ammunition and spare parts (a total received 100 of them), a BIBER bridge-laying tank with spare parts, an engineering tank DACHS, 11 ploughs for demining and 6 heavy-duty M1070 Oshkosh semi-trailers.

Karin Jean-Pierre, representative of the White House, reported that Ukraine is already receiving weapons from the new US aid package.

The Ministry of Defense of Canada reported that the country will send 50 armoured personnel carriers to Ukraine. The first 10 of the 50 ACSV 8×8 armoured personnel carriers will be sent this summer to Germany. There, the Ukrainian military will undergo an appropriate training program, and the armoured personnel carriers should go to the front by the fall.

Iceland adopted a resolution on long-term support to Ukraine in the period from 2024 to 2028. The document, which was proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country, is aimed at supporting independence, sovereignty, borders, security of the civilian population, humanitarian aid and reconstruction works in Ukraine.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President, held the 3rd round of negotiations with the US regarding the preparation for the conclusion of a bilateral security agreement.

Gitanas Nauseda, Lithuanian President, supported the idea of ​​returning men of mobilisation age to Ukraine. However, according to Evelina Gudzinskaite, Head of the Migration Department, there are currently no legal grounds that would oblige Lithuania to assist Ukraine in the mobilisation process.

Anneli Weeks, Adviser of the Department of Citizenship and Migration Policy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Estonia, reported that the country will not deport Ukrainian men who are legally in the country if their passports are expired. According to her, if citizens of Ukraine of mobilisation age will no longer be able to exchange their expired passports for new ones at the Embassy of Ukraine, they will lose the opportunity to travel. As of 26 April 6,500 Ukrainian men aged 18-60 had a residence permit in Estonia based on temporary protection.

The Financial Times reported that the Foreign Ministers of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia have accused russia of blocking GPS signals in the Baltic Sea.

According to experts, tens of thousands of civilian flights have been affected by GPS blocking in recent months. For instance, on 25 and 26 April, two Finnair planes flying from Helsinki to Tartu were forced to return to their departure airport due to GPS problems. The blocking also interferes with signals used by ships in the Baltic Sea.
