It has been the 509th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:  

 The russian federation launched 5 missile strikes from S-300 air defense system. The enemy carried out 34 airstrikes and launched over 40 MLRS attacks on Ukrainian cities and Ukrainian Armed Forces. As a result of russian terrorist attacks, civilians have been killed and injured, houses and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed.

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile and air strikes.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts towards Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Mariinka. Heavy battles are raging. There were 29 combat clashes.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. 

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy forces maintain an enhanced military presence. They carried out an airstrike at Bilopyl, Sumy oblast. The enemy shelled with mortar and artillery over 25 settlements, including Chuykivka, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Iskryskivshhyna, Pavlivka, Sumy oblast and Ivashki, Kozacha Lopan, Hoptivka, Vovchansk, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian soldiers are holding the ground. Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupiansk and Kislivka, Kharkiv oblast were under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Lyman, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area west of Dibrova, Luhansk oblast. The settlements of Nevske, Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast and Verkhnikkamianske, Spirne, Berestov, Rozdolivka, Donetsk oblast were shelled with artillery.

Towards Bakhmut, despite aviation and artillery fire, our defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks at Bohdanivka and Vesely, Donetsk oblast.  Over10 settlements, including Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Pleschiivka and Stupochki, Donetsk oblast, were shelled with artillery.

Towards Avdiivka, under enemy airstrikes, our defenders repelled all occupiers’ assaults in the vicinity of Avdiivka. Russians shelled over 10 settlements, including Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Netailove, and Karlivka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Mariinka, the Armed Forces successfully continue to hold back the advance of russian troops in the vicinity of Mariinka and near Krasnohorivka, Donetsk oblast. The enemy shelled over 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Mariinka, Hostre, Pobieda and Heorhiivka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy forces launched airstrikes at Makarivka, Blahodatny, Novodarivka, and Komar and shelled Blahodatne, Vuhledar, Zolota Niva, Velyka Novosilka, Blahodatne, and Zelene Pole, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the enemy is concentrating forces to prevent further advance of our troops. They carried out an airstrike at Orykhiv, Zaporizhzhia oblast. They shelled over 20 settlements, including Vilne Pole, Vremivka, Donetsk oblast; Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Verkhnya Tersa, Preobrazhenka, Zaporizhzhia oblast; Dudchany, Vesele, Lviv, Sadov, Kherson oblast and Kherson. Ochakiv, Mykolaiv oblast also got under fire.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct offensive operations towards Melitopol and Berdiansk. Ukrainian defernders are equipping captured positions, shelling with artillery identified enemy targets, and carrying out counter-battery measures.

In Nova Kakhovka, Kherson oblast, the russian occupiers mercilessly evict all locals living along the banks of the Dnipro from their homes, along with their children, onto the street. Homes of Ukrainian civilians are being occupied with military units of invaders. Previously, in Nova Kakhovka and Kakhovka, the russians turned off mobile communications and Internet connections. This way they are trying to make it impossible to record and post online the crimes of russian troops.

The Ukrainian Air Forces conducted 5 strikes on enemy manpower buildup, weapons and military equipment concentrations.

Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 3 enemy strike UAVs of the “Shakhed-136” type.

Ukrainian rocket and artillery units hit 1 enemy manpower buildup, weapon and military equipment concentration, 2x TOS-1A “Solntsepok”, 22 artillery units at firing positions, 1x ammunition warehouse and EW station of the russian occupiers.

The general director of Ukrhydroenergo Ihor Syrota announced that it would take about 7 years to re-build new Kakhovska HPP. Time-consuming survey of the territory after de-occupation, dismantling and other works will be required before starting its construction. The estimated cost will be approximately 1-1.2 billion dollars. 

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, emphasized that Ukraine is ready to continue the “grain agreement” without russia. He said this in an interview with African journalists. “Even without the russian federation, everything must be done so that we can use this Black Sea corridor. We are not afraid. We were approached by companies that own ships. They said that they are ready if Ukraine lets go, and Turkey continues to let go, then everyone is ready to continue supplying grain,” noted President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Based on the information provided by the head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, the Regional Defence Council decided to evacuate children from nine separate settlements of the Vovchansk community in Chuhuiv district. In total, 194 children live on the territory of Vovchansk city community, with 144 of them in Vovchansk.

He also noted that the russian forces are targeting civilian facilities in the city because they are not successful on the frontlines.

In the morning, the enemy shelled Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region. Preliminarily, a 60-year-old man was injured and hospitalized. Emergency services are working at the scene.

Yesterday evening, around 7 pm and 10 pm, the enemy fired missiles from the S-300 system twice at Kharkiv. One of the missiles exploded in the air above russian territory, and there were four hits on the territory of an enterprise in the Osnovyanskyi district. A civilian man was killed. Three men aged 41, 30, and 33 were injured and hospitalized, with their condition being moderate. A 56-year-old civilian received aid at the scene.

During the day, the enemy shelled border and frontline settlements in Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuhuiv and Kupiansk regions with mortars and artillery.

In Blahodativka village, Kupiansk region, a private building, outbuildings, and a car were damaged as a result of enemy mortar shelling.

In Odnorobivka village, Bohodukhiv region, five private buildings were damaged due to enemy mortar shelling.

Around 5:15 pm, in Nemyshlianskyi district of Kharkiv, two civilian men aged 21 and 22 attempted to dismantle an unidentified explosive object. As a result of the explosion, both of them were injured and hospitalized. Medics assess their condition as moderate.

The defenders of Kharkiv oblast are holding the lines. In the south of Masiutivka village, the enemy tried to conduct an offensive, but retreated with losses under fire from Ukrainian troops.

Donetsk oblast

Donetsk Regional Police reported that on July 16, russian troops shelled 10 settlements in Donetsk oblast. Avdiivka, Konstantiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Krasnohorivka, Chasiv Yar, Niu-York, Hostre, Kurakhivka cities and Pleshchiivka and Zolota Niva villages were under fire. The russian army fired at civilians with aircraft, S-300, Grad and artillery.

The russian shelling damaged 54 civilian objects – 22 residential buildings, a sports complex, cafes, businesses, warehouses, outbuildings, garages, vehicles, and power lines. A civilian was injured in Zolota Nyva of Velyka Novosilkivka community as a result of artillery shelling.

On the night of June 17, russians launched a missile attack on Kramatorsk, wounding 2 people and damaging residential buildings and the territory of an enterprise.

Towards Volnovakha, Vuhledar, Prechystivka and Shevchenkove village, Komar community, were under attack. In the morning, russians shelled Velyka Novosilka with Grad multiple rocket launchers.

Towards Donetsk, 8 buildings were damaged in Kurakhove community, and Marinka and Krasnohorivka were shelled throughout the day.

Towards Horlivka, russians dropped two bombs on Nuu-York, one of which destroyed a 5-story building. In total, 6 buildings, an administrative building and an infrastructure facility were damaged in the community. In Chasiv Yar community, 3 buildings were damaged. In Kostiantynivka, 6 buildings, a school and an enterprise were damaged. 1 person was injured and 5 buildings damaged in Pleshchiivka, Illinivsk community.

Towards Lysychansk, 3 buildings in Yampil, Luman community, 1 in Siversk and 1 in Zvanivka were damaged.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of Donetsk RMA, reported that russians injured 4 civilians yesterday.

Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale armed aggression, 787 cases of damage to 219 facilities have been recorded. 57 facilities have already been restored, 33 of them partially.  

Luhansk oblast

The enemy is constantly preparing artillery for future offensives. More precisely, it practically does not stop. The liberated villages and positions of the Ukrainian forces are under hourly fire pressure from the russians. Over the past week, they have been shelling Nevske and nearby villages, as well as Bilohorivka. Aviation was also deployed in the area of the latter. Our soldiers are holding the line. 

Luhansk Military Administration reported that the construction workers have come to Kreminna. Back in the spring, they started dismantling windows, radiators and pipes in the surviving buildings. However, when they did not receive the funds owed to them, they stopped all work and left. The residents are still left without windows and a water supply system. 

In Sievierodonetsk, there are hardly any apartments that marauders haven’t visited. If previously they mainly vandalized the homes of those who left, recently they started targeting the homes of Severodonetsk residents who remain in the city.

The russians have closed Rubizhne and Kreminna for entry and exit as they fear our counteroffensive. In cities and villages near the front line, the occupiers are trying to exert maximum control over the civilian population to prevent people from cooperating with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The aggressors are planning to hold elections in the settlements in autumn where most consumers have been without electricity and centralized water supply for over a year.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Administrator of the US Agency for International Development, Samantha Power, came to Kyiv for a visit. She announced that the United States is providing Ukraine with more than $500 million in additional humanitarian aid and $2.3 million worth of equipment for emergency services. During the visit, Samantha Power plans to meet with government officials, Ukrainian business, civil society, energy workers, youth, rescue workers and specialists in the field of psychological health.

Kyiv City Military Administration reported that from July 17 to 20, Kyiv’s forces and means of defense will be training in the forestry area of the capital’s Darnytskyi district. Kyiv locals are asked to refrain from visiting forests during this period.

The mayor of the capital Vitaliy Klitschko reported that more than 3.5 million people currently live in Kyiv, including 300,000 registered migrants. According to the calculations of the city authorities, the number of people who lived in Kyiv before the full-scale invasion reached 3.8 million people. In March 2022, about a million people remained in the city.

The Ivankiv Territorial Community received a new mobile center for the provision of administrative services (CPAS) as part of the Swedish-Ukrainian PROSTO project “Supporting the availability of services in Ukraine”. Representatives of the Government and the Embassy of Sweden handed over a car and a set of equipment for the mobile CPAS to the community. Now residents of remote settlements will have access to administrative services directly at their place of residence.

The mayor Vitaliy Klitschko informed that a Ukrainian-German project to install autonomous solar power plants is being implemented in Kyiv. It will provide uninterrupted power supply to three medical institutions of the capital. Financing of these works will be provided by grant funds of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). The total cost of the project is 500,000 euros.

KCMA reported that a physical culture and health event “Military Recovery Sports” for the rehabilitation of the Ukrainian military was organized in Kyiv. Tournaments in various sports and therapy in a fraternal environment allows military personnel to overcome post-traumatic stress disorder, regain mental health and recover more quickly.

91 children from Kyiv oblast went to rest and recuperate at a camp located near Berlin in Germany. These are orphans and children deprived of parental care from Bila Tserkva, Boryspil and Brovary regions, as well as from Kyiv regional centers of social and psychological rehabilitation. The trip took place at the invitation of the Federal Ministry for the Family, Elderly, Women and Youth of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr City Council reported that 4 high-rise buildings will be built for internally displaced persons in the city. The grant, the amount of which is EUR 8 million, was allocated by the European Commission as part of the program “Housing for internally displaced persons and restoration of liberated cities in Ukraine.” This project will provide housing for more than 400 displaced persons.

The parents of a football player who died at the front made a sports ground for children. The family of Artur Hrytsenko, who gave his life for Ukraine, decided to provide the children of the Zvyagel community with a modern sports ground and gave part of the money from the state compensation for the loss of their son.

Zhytomyr city hall informed that the local military from the 148th separate brigade received 3 more quadcopters. Almost UAH 800,000 was spent on 3 drones and their batteries from the local budget.

A pre-premiere screening of the film “Iron Butterflies” took place in Zhytomyr. The picture tells about the war crimes of the russian federation, the result of which was the death of the passengers of the plane MH17 in 2014. 298 people became victims of the accident, the investigation of which is shown in the tape.

Berdychiv city council reported that a commemorative plaque was unveiled in the city in honor of the meeting of the Chief Otaman of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, Simon Petlyura, with the head of the Polish state, Marshal Józef Pilsudski. The memorial was erected for the 100th anniversary of the event.

Sumy oblast

Sumy RMA reported that two residents of Bilopillia were killed and 10 people were injured due to artillery shelling carried out by the russian military in the city center in the afternoon of July 17. The administrative building was destroyed by russian shelling.

Serhiy Kruk, head of the State Emergency Service, reported on the shelling of the fire station in Bilopillia. As a result of the enemy strike, six rescuers were injured and hospitalized. During the shelling, the injured employees were in shelter.

Sumy RMA reported that the russians carried out 9 shellings of the border. 63 strikes were recorded from mortars, artillery and AGS. The communities of Bilopillia, Velika Pysarivka, Esman, Druzhbivka and Khotyn came under shelling.

During the past day, July 16, 18 shellings were recorded in Sumy oblast. 126 enemy strikes were inflicted by the russians on Bilopillia, Putivlska, Velika Pysarivka, Seredina-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske, Krasnopillia, Yunakivka, Shalyhine and Esman communities. For shelling, the enemy used mortars, artillery and grenade launchers, and the 12 missles were launched on the Bilopillia community.

As a result of the grenade attack, one civilian from the Seredina-Buda community received a limb injury. In addition, two households were damaged during the shelling: windows, a gas pipe, a garage and a car.

The Civil Protection Department of the Sumy oblast reported that in two weeks, the number of protective structures in the oblast increased by 191 objects. These are the simplest shelters for almost eight thousand residents of the oblast.

The State Emergency Service reported that during the week, pyrotechnicians discovered and destroyed 14 explosive objects in Sumy oblast. Among the discovered and destroyed arsenal are 6 artillery shells, 2 mortar mines, 4 grenade launcher shots and 2 hand grenades. Dangerous finds were recorded in the territories of Sumy, Okhtyrka, Romny, Konotop and Shostka regions.

Chernihiv oblast

The spokeswoman of the Chernihiv border detachment, Galina Shekhovtsova reported that the occupiers shelled Semenivka and Novhorod-Siverskyi communities in Chernihiv oblast, striking their territories with 71 hits. In the village of Hremyach, 25 shots from anti-aircraft guns, 22 hits from AGS and 6 mortar hits were recorded. The village of Karpovychi was hit by mortars 18 times.

Head of Chernihiv RMA Vyacheslav Chaus announced that more than 6,000 explosions have occurred in Chernihiv oblast since the beginning of 2023. During this period, 730 enemy shellings were recorded in the oblast. The evacuation of residents from the border of the Chernihiv oblast continues.

The University of the Third Age and a mobile social service were opened in Nizhyn. More than 11,000 local senior citizens will be able to benefit from projects that have been implemented with the help of the Canadian government and UNDP.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, at night, air defence forces shot down 2 enemy Shahed UAVs over the oblast. In the morning, russians shelled the Mezhova community of Sнnelnykove region on the border with Donetsk oblast. 3 private houses were damaged. 

 

In Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk oblast, the project “Summer School of Guides “History Around Us” is being implemented. The aim of the project is to help IDPs integrate into the new community by learning about the history, traditions and culture of the region.

At a state enterprise in Dnipro, military and civilians are taught to walk with the help of prostheses. The company’s engineers have also developed prosthetic pads that are printed on a 3D printer.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​According to Viktor Stepanets, Technical Director of Vinnytsiaoblenergo JSC, a team of power engineers from Vinnytsia went to help restore power supply in Kherson oblast.

A charity match was held in Zhmerynka, Vinnytsia oblast, to support the 79th separate airborne assault brigade. The event raised about UAH 28,000 for a quadcopter.

Kirovohrad oblast

According to Head of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration Andrii Raikovych, construction teams from the communities of Kirovohrad oblast continue to work in Mala Oleksandrivka. They are repair the roofs and fences destroyed by the russian occupiers, as well as install new windows and doors.

Poltava oblast

Volunteers from the Poltava Battalion of People Who Care charity organisation have delivered a second Starlink satellite communications system to the military in Luhansk oblast.

Cherkasy oblast

In Cherkasy, students raised more than UAH 30 thousand for the Armed Forces of Ukraine during an auction held as part of the ‘One Tone Closer to Victory’ charity event.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operations towards Melitopol and Berdiansk, specifically conducting offensive actions in the following areas: Makarivka, Staromaiorske; Novodarivka, Priiutne; Mala Tokmachka, Novopokrovka; Piatyhatky, Hrozove, with some success. Over the course of a week, there has been advancement into enemy territory from our defensive line. The liberated territories have increased by 10.9 square kilometers within a week. Overall, the advancement since the start of the offensive in the south amounts to 9.25 kilometers, with the liberated area totaling 179.5 square kilometers. 134 enemy military vehicles and 36 ammunition depots were destroyed, along with 2 depots containing fuel and lubricants during the period from July 10 to July 16.

Yesterday, russian military forces carried out 55 shelling attacks on 16 populated areas. 52 artillery strikes were recorded on Huliaipilske, Olhivka, Malynivka, Charivne, Zaliznychnе, Preobrazhenka, Stepnohirsk, and other frontline villages. The enemy twice shelled Huliaipole and Verkhnia Tersa with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), as well as conducted an airstrike on Novodarivka. 18 reports of destruction of residential buildings, economic structures, and infrastructure objects were received.

During the night, one russian UAV “Shahed-136” was destroyed in Zaporizhzhia oblast. This was reported by the “East” Air Command.

Harvesting is currently underway in Zaporizhzhia oblast, with farmers collecting rapeseed, peas, barley, and wheat. Currently, there are 961 enterprises remaining under Ukrainian control out of the total of 3,200. Prior to the full-scale war, 1,780K hectares of land were cultivated in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Currently, 380K hectares of land remain under Ukrainian control.

Mykolaiv oblast

It is reported by Mykolaiv RMA that russian forces shelled the city of Ochakiv, and Kutsurub community with mortars and artillery during the July 15 and the morning of July 16. There is no information regarding casualties or fatalities.

According to the Mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevych, the operations of medium-sized businesses in the city have come to a halt. Approximately 90% of medium-sized enterprises have shut down. Only the service sector, trade, small and micro-businesses, as well as supermarket chains, continue to operate.

The reconstruction of the Academic Art Drama Theater damaged by the shelling of russian forces in 2022 has begun in Mykolaiv. The restoration and renovation work is expected to take 2 months. A team of 12 workers has been tasked with restoring the interior decoration of the theater courtyard, part of the facade, 22 windows, 8 doors, 7 air conditioners, water supply, approximately 157 square meters of the roof, and repairing the fence in order to bring back the theater to its former state.

Odesa oblast

Former employees of the Odesa Municipal Guard, who are currently serving in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and performing combat tasks in the east of Ukraine, received a modern off-road vehicle for the aerial reconnaissance unit. The vehicle was provided by the “Serhii Utochkin Sports and Public Initiatives Development Fund” in Odesa. The volunteers also handed over military uniforms and other equally important items to the soldiers.

The seabed near the beaches of Odesa is covered with reeds, tree bark, and pieces of wood brought by the waters of the Dnipro River after the flood provoked by russian occupiers in Kherson oblast. There is a lot of domestic waste on the seabed in addition to organic remains. After assessing the state of the marine fauna, a significant number of crabs and crayfish were found. However, mussels have suffered greatly. Colonies of mollusks on breakwaters near the beaches have decreased by approximately 60%.

Kherson oblast

It is reported that russian military forces shelled Bilozerska community at around 17:00. Two women, aged 58 and 25, were wounded and hospitalized. 

During the night, the occupiers shelled residential areas in Kherson. Two women, aged 82 and 75, were diagnosed with acute stress reactions. Currently, their lives are not in danger.

Yesterday, the enemy conducted 89 shelling attacks, firing 373 shells from mortars, artillery, “Grad” systems, aircraft, and UAVs. The city of Kherson was targeted with 40 shells. The russian forces shelled residential quarters in populated areas of the region, storage facilities, the territory of the automobile market, and one of the infrastructure enterprises in the city, as well as a farm in the region. Due to the russian aggression, one person was killed, and 9 others (including 2 children) were injured.

In the village of Tryfonivka, Velykooleksandrivka community, two boys aged 8 and 10 were injured as a result of a grenade launcher explosion. The children found a dangerous object on the street. In Kherson, a 59-year-old man was killed while dismantling an explosive device in his own garage.

The General Staff reported that russian occupiers are forcibly evicting all local residents in tNova Kakhovka, living along the Dnipro River, including children, from their homes onto the streets. Military units occupy these dwellings. Preliminarily, the russian occupiers have cut off mobile communication and wired cable internet connections in Nova Kakhovka and Kakhovka attempting to prevent the documentation and publication of crimes committed by russian forces.

Due to damage to the Crimean Bridge, russians are trying to leave occupied Crimea through the occupied part of Kherson oblast. A multi-kilometer traffic jam has formed towards temporarily occupied Melitopol. As of 13:00, the Kerch ferry crossing was only operating for trucks.

Drinking water is being delivered to the settlements of Beryslav region. This includes the communities of Mylivka, Novooleksandrivka, Kalynivka, Novovorontsovka, Beryslav, Tyahynka, and Novoraisk. Additionally, four mobile drinking water treatment stations have been established in the region.

Recently, the State Ecological Inspectorate received test kits, reagents, filters, and other materials from the UNDP in Ukraine. After the occupation forces detonated the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station, experts have been monitoring the water quality in the regions affected by flooding on a daily basis. This assistance will meet the urgent needs for consumables and increase the number of research studies conducted.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Since the war began, 78K IDP have arrived in the oblast. Of them, over the past week – 87 people. Among IDPs: 2 232 people with disabilities, 7 322 pensioners, 95 families with many children, 8 families with single parents.

3 From July 17 to 20, 2023, classes will be held in Lutsk within the scope of the Joy of Creation social project of Summer Art School with the involvement of IDP children and children with disabilities from Lutsk community with the purpose of overcoming social stereotypes about people with disabilities and creating a tolerant environment.

Zakarpattia oblast

In Uzhgorod, on the Nezalezhnosti embankment, the artist of Zakarpattia Regional Philharmonic, Ihor Litvinov, gave a charity concert in the open air. The collected funds were donated to support the military from Zakarpattia.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The mobile team created by the RMA continues to conduct field consultations. The brigade visited several shelters in Solotvyn and Lyset communities, where IDPs live.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with the Polish delegation. They discussed future ways of cooperation between the Ukrainian and Polish business environment and the Polish Service for the Reconstruction of Ukraine project.

Lviv oblast is one of the eight regions where the Polish project to support investment in Ukraine is being implemented. They discussed the so-called export insurance and the work of a special investment fund. Polish-Ukrainian cooperation and prospects for the reconstruction of Ukraine were considered at a seminar with participation of state administration and business within the framework of the Polish Service for the Reconstruction of Ukraine CSS WEI project.

The Dobrobut medical network and the Superhumans prosthetics and reconstructive surgery center signed a memorandum of cooperation. Over 300 patients are waiting for prosthetics, of which about 20% need additional treatment, stump-forming operations and physical rehabilitation, which can be done in Dobrobut.

The film Slava Ukraini by Bernard Henri Levy, French director, will be screened in Drohobych. The film was shot in the format of trips to the hot spots of Ukraine. The film begins in Kharkiv and ends in Kherson after the liberation of the city. The director traveled through Ukraine with a Ukrainian special forces unit and filmed events in Bakhmut, Lyman, following actions of the military near Zaporizhzhia NPP.

A pre-premiere screening of the documentary Iron Butterflies about the downing of a Malaysian Airlines plane by the russian military at the beginning of the russian-Ukrainian war will take place in Lviv. The tape became a prize-winner of the Docudays UA festival and participated in Sundance and Berlinale.

Rivne oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Oksen Lisov, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine. They discussed directions for the development of education in the oblast during martial law, the course of the educational process, creation of security conditions, relocation and state orders.

Rivne oblast continues to cooperate with Poland within the framework of the Improving fire safety of residents of the oblast project and planned to purchase an express mercury analyzer and 15 individual gamma radiation dosimeters for Rivne rescuers with funds from the Polish Polska Pomoc program.

Ternopil oblast

Leadership of Ozerian community visited the partner cities – Flavacourt, La Landel, La Boss, and Le Woman. During the meeting, a memorandum on cooperation between communities was signed. In addition, they agreed on the vacation dates of the children of Ozerian community in France and received another school bus for the community.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Children in Khmelnytskyi oblast continue to volunteer and help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular, by handing them funds collected in various ways. The other day, another car went from Krasylov to the front, in which young residents of the community participated, not for the first time, in collecting funds – two boys brought money to help the army – UAH 4K.

Chernivtsi oblast

Classes on the basic training of Ukrainian citizens for national resistance began in the Chernivtsi community. The first group was formed from the number of officials of Chernivtsi City Council. The instructor-teaching staff was formed by the Chief of Staff of Territorial Defense. The basic training course meets NATO standards (modern means of communication, tactical and fire training, initial course in tactical medicine).

A delegation of representatives of the main subjects of Ukraine’s cybersecurity met in Brussels with representatives of the European External Action Service, the Directorate General for Communication Networks, Content and Technologies (DG CONNECT) and ENISA. China declared his readiness to join the negotiations on the continuation of the “grain agreement”. “China hopes that the Black Sea Grain Initiative will continue to be balanced and fully implemented,” said Mao Ning, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman.

The UN reacted to russia’s statement on the termination of the “grain agreement”. According to the UN representative, the UN office in Istanbul received a written message from russia. “The Secretary General will not stop his efforts to promote unimpeded access to global markets for food products and fertilizers from both Ukraine and the Russian Federation in order to maintain global food security,” the UN representative said.

Jake Sullivan, national security adviser of the US president, stated that if russia withdraws from the “grain agreement”, which expires on July 17, russian president putin will suffer huge diplomatic losses.

The European Commission called the russian federation’s statement on the termination of the “grain agreement” a cynical step. “I strongly condemn russia’s cynical move to end the Black Sea Grain Initiative, despite the efforts of the UN and Turkey. The EU is working to ensure food security for the world’s vulnerable populations,” said Ursula von der Leyen, Head of the European Commission,.

Jake Sullivan, the US President’s national security adviser, said that Ukraine’s future in NATO will not be discussed. “We will continue economic pressure on russia, and the Ukrainians will continue military pressure on russia,” Sullivan said.
