War in Ukraine today: latest news, July 18, 2023 (photo)

It has been the 510th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

Russian troops launched a missile and air strike on the territory of Ukraine, using 6 Kalibr cruise missiles and 35 Iranian Shahed-136 strike UAVs. Ukrainian Air Force units destroyed 6 Kalibr cruise missiles and 31 russian Shahed-136 strike UAVs.

The russian army launched 70 airstrikes and conducted 53 MLRS attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian settlements. There have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population due to these russian terrorist attacks, and industrial facilities, residential buildings, and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged.

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile and air strikes.

The russian army continues to concentrate its main efforts towards Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariinka, where heavy fighting is ongoing. There have been 18 combat clashes.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the operational situation did not change, with no significant changes observed in the formation of russian offensive groups. Identified units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are carrying out tasks in border areas adjacent to Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains a military presence. They conducted mortar and artillery shelling at over 20 settlements, including Seredyna-Buda, Iskryshchytsya, Stepne,  Sumy oblast, and Hlyboke, Volochivka and Vovchanski Khutory, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian troops are holding their defense steadily. The russian army conducted an airstrike in the area of Kyslivka, while Novomykhailivka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Petropavlivka, Holybivka, and Kupiansk, Kharkiv oblast were shelled with artillery and mortar by russian soldiers.

Towards Lyman, russian soldiers carried out airstrikes in the areas of Bilohorivka army, Luhansk oblast and Spirne and Siversk, Donetsk oblast. The populated areas of Nevske, Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast, and Torske, Verkhniokamyanske, Berestove, and Rozdolivka, Donetsk oblast were shelled with artillery.

Towards Bakhmut, under intense russian fire from aviation and artillery, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled attacks in the area of Bohdanivka, Donetsk oblast. The russian army conducted airstrikes near Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Druzhba, Bila Hora, and Oleksandro-Shultyne, Donetsk oblast. Over 10 populated areas, including Vasiukivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klischiivka, Chasiv Yar, and Markove, Donetsk oblast, were shelled with russian artillery.

Towards Avdiivka, the russian army launched an airstrike in the area of Avdiivka. At the same time, they conducted artillery shelling at over 10 settlements, including Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Orlivka, and Berdychiv, Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Mariinka, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold back the advance of  russian troops in the areas of Marinka and Krasnohorivka, Donetsk oblast. The russian army shelled at over 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Hryhorivka, and Maksymilianivka.

Towards Shakhtarsk, in the areas of Rivnopillia, Donetsk oblast and Novodarivka,  Zaporizhzhia oblast, the russian army made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost positions. It conducted airstrikes in the areas of Velyka Novosilka, Makarivka, and Rivnopillia, Donetsk oblast. Russian troops also shelled over 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Storozhove, and Blahodatne, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the russian army is concentrating its main efforts on preventing further advancement of the Ukrainian military. They conducted an airstrike in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Novodanilivka, Orikhiv, and Piatyhatky, Zaporizhzhia oblast. Russian troops also shelled from artillery at 20 settlements, including Vilne Pole, Vremivka, Donetsk oblast; Zaliznychne, Lobkove, Kamianske, Zaporizhzhia oblast; Synelnykove and Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk oblast; Burhunka, Sadove, Berehove, Rozlyv, Kherson oblast, and the city of Kherson, as well as Ochakiv, Mykolaiv  oblast.

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct offensive operations towards Melitopol and Berdiansk. They are consolidating their positions, firing from artillery, and implementing counter-battery measures.

Russian troops continue to use civilian infrastructure for their own purposes. In the city of Lysychansk, Luhansk oblast, for example, they have converted the territory of the former city polyclinic to accommodate personnel and command of the Akhmat unit.

In the settlements of Yalta, Yurivka, and Urzuf, Donetsk oblast, the territories of recreational bases such as Chervona Hvozdyka, Kosmos, and Prybiy have been completely converted into military bases with fortifications (bunkers) to accommodate personnel of the russian army.

The areas of russian manpower, weapons, and military equipment buildup, as well as 3 strikes on russian air defense missile systems were struck. The Ukrainian military also destroyed 2 tactical-level reconnaissance UAVs.

Units of the missile forces and artillery struck 1 russian command post, 8 artillery positions, 2 ammunition depots, and 3 russian electronic warfare stations.


According to the head of local state administration Oleh Syniehubov, mandatory evacuation of children in the border zone in Kharkiv oblast has been announced. Daily shelling of  Vovchansk community threatens the lives of 194 children, including 144 children from Vovchansk. All evacuated families will be provided with housing, humanitarian and other assistance.

The Ministry of Justice informed that the European Court rejected russia’s lawsuit against Ukraine. The court studied in detail all materials provided by russia and refused to satisfy the claim in full, as well as removed it from the register of cases.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Oleksandr Syrskyi, commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that russian troops have launched an offensive towards Kupiansk, aiming to defeat Ukrainian troops in this area.

Serhii Cherevatyi, spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in the United News TV marathon that russian army has concentrated a very powerful grouping towards Lyman-Kupiansk, specifically, more than 100K personnel, more than 900 tanks, more than 550 artillery systems and 370 MRLs.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces owards Kupiansk, russian troops attacked west of Lyman Pershyi, Dvorichna community but had no success. Enemy used aircraft, artillery and mortars to shell Kupiansk.

Kharkiv oblast

Based on the information provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian troops launched an air strike near Kyslivka towards Kupiansk and shelled at least 9 settlements.

Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv Village Administration, reported that the enemy struck at Huriv Kozachok and Odnorobivka. As a result of shelling from multiple rocket launchers and helicopters, an agricultural enterprise, buildings, outbuildings were damaged and electricity supply was cut off. There were no casualties.

According to the press service of the Regional Administration, a 72-year-old man was killed and a 65-year-old woman sustained shrapnel wounds as a result of shelling in Dvorichna, Kupiansk region.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday the enemy attacked border and frontline settlements of Chuhuiv and Kupiansk regions with mortars, cannon and rocket artillery. Specifically, Vovchansk, Karaichne, Budarky, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupiansk, Kyslivka and other settlements were under hostile attack.

The shelling of Kupiansk with MRLs damaged enterprise premises and 2 private buildings. Two civilian men aged 49 and 60 sustained light injuries and did not need hospitalisation.

The press service of the Regional Administration informed that russian federation also struck Kindrashivka, Kupiansk region, on 17 July at around 6 pm. A private buildings caught on fire after the shelling.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv RMA, said that mine clearance is ongoing. Yesterday pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined about 12 hectares of territory and defused 143 explosive ordnance.

Next to the destroyed lyceum in Lozova, artist Mariia Rudenko painted an 18-metre fence. On it, she depicted storks, military events and the symbol of Ukraine’s victory. According to Mariia Rudenko, the mural is divided into three parts. One is a peaceful life, as we used to live before. The second part is the horror of the full-scale invasion that is happening now. And then the fence depicts the future – what awaits us after the victory.

Donetsk oblast

Reffering to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, yesterday russians killed 3 civilians in Stepanivka, Makarivka and Stepove. Another 4 people were injured over the day.

The invaders attacked Stepanivka with Smerch multiple rocket launchers and shelled Avdiivka from various systems. The police said that on 17 July, russian troops targeted 19 cities and settlement in Donetsk oblast and shelled civilians more than 30 times.

Donetsk RMA reported that towards Volnovakha, one person was killed in Makarivka of Velyka Novosilka community.  Vuhledar and Prechystivka were under attack without any casualties.

Towards Donetsk, 1 person was killed in Stepove, Ocheretyne community. Lastochkyne was under attack. A building in Krasnohorivka was damaged. Avdiivka suffered two missile attacks. The enemy shelled Kurakhove community 4 times,  buildings in Kurakhove were damaged.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was killed and 2 injured in Stepanivka of Illinivsk community. 1 building in Chasiv Yar community and 1 in Toretsk community were damaged. The outskirts of Kostiantynivka community were targeted.

Towards Lysychansk, 3 buildings were destroyed in Siversk. There were 8 attacks in Lyman community over the day.

Luhansk oblast

The enemy has gathered a powerful grouping in Luhansk oblast and is now putting pressure towards Kreminna and Svatove. Yesterday, they unsuccessfully stormed our positions near Dibrova. The Armed Forces of Ukraine stopped all russian attempts there. Nevske and Bilohorivka were under artillery attack once again and the invaders also launched an air strike.

There are more and more complaints about the lack of medicines in Sievierodonetsk. This refers to empty pharmacy shelves.

Only two of them have been opened by the invaders. However, even the most basic necessities are not freely available. However, it is possible to arrange for the delivery of medicines from Luhansk. The service costs from 50 to 100 per cent of the cost of the drug.

At the passport office in Novopskov, when receiving a document, the invaders demand that residents swear faithfulness to russian federation, recording all these speeches on video. The elderly go there to count on future pension recalculations, which are not carried out without a russian passport. However, according to locals, not everyone is getting their pensions increased.

Luhansk Regional State Ecological Inspectorate is taking measures to record and inspect the region’s facilities, destruction by russians whicn caused damage to the environment. Specifically, the inspection revealed and documented damage to the region’s infrastructure facilities. Following the destruction of one of these facilities, a gas distribution point near Hrekivka village, Svatove region, the inspection staff calculated the damage caused by the clogging of the land plot. The amount is UAH 390,111,750.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

On July 17, leaders of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) led by Administrator Samantha Power and U.S. Ambassador Bridget Brink visited one of the capital’s critical infrastructure facilities that had previously been subjected to missile attacks by the russians. According to Kyiv City State Administration, representatives of the American delegation inspected the equipment damaged as a result of the attack and repair work progress as part of Kyiv’s preparations for the upcoming winter.

Mayor Vitali Klychko informed that the total amount of the aid received by Kyiv from USAID during the full-scale war is almost UAH 150 million. This includes assistance in repairing damaged sections of heating networks, providing generators and specialized equipment.

Testing of bulletproof vests for Ukrainian female soldiers has started. According to Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, the ministry is cooperating with manufacturers who can produce personal protective equipment for Ukrainian servicewomen. The manufacturer will eliminate possible flaws, if any would be discovered during the trial period, and then the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff will approve the master sample.

The Ministry of Economy reported that Eco Basket packaging plant destroyed by russian troops has been restored in Borodyanka. The plant was completely burned down after a russian shell hit it in the spring of 2022. The production of packaging materials made of natural beech veneer has been restored with the help of the microgrant program “Own Business” from the eRobota project.

Oleksandr Markushyn, Mayor of Irpin, reported that an embankment damaged by russian shelling has been repaired in Irpin. According to him, the workers restored the embankment as it was before the full-scale invasion – they repaired damaged lawn watering nozzles, replaced lanterns and tiles, and painted the installations.

South Korean company Hyundai Engineering and Construction will help rebuild Boryspil International Airport after the end of the russian-Ukrainian war. According to Yoon Yong-joon, CEO of The Korea Herald, the company will cooperate with Ukraine to rebuild not only transportation infrastructure, including airports and railways, but also energy infrastructure.

The Regional Military Administration reported that 38 tons of bottled drinking water were shipped from Kyiv oblast to Dnipropetrovsk oblast. Bila Tserkva and Fastiv regions collected water for residents of Nikopol who suffered from the terrorist attacks of the russian invaders.

Zhytomyr oblast

According to the Zhytomyr City Council, Zhytomyr received emergency backpacks from philanthropists. Backpacks containing resuscitation equipment and other necessary items were delivered to the State Emergency Service by the US humanitarian organization Direct Relief.

According to the representatives of Narodychi community, a temporary bridge over the Uzh River is opened in Zhytomyr oblast to replace the one destroyed as a result of hostilities. There are 3 more bridges in the community that need to be repaired – over the Noryn, Hrezlya, and Medvedka rivers.

According to the information provided by the Department of National and Patriotic Education, Youth and Sports of Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, internally displaced athletes from Kharkiv continue training in Zhytomyr oblast. Thus, Maksym Smyk, a student of the Kharkiv College of Sports Profile, recently won 3 silver medals at the European Championships – now the weightlifter lives and trains in Zvyagel.

Berdychiv bikers held a motorcycle rally in favor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A charity ride was held in Kozyatyn involving more than 100 bikers from Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, and Kyiv. The money raised will be directed to the AFU.

Sumy oblast

Yuriy Zarko, Mayor of Bilopillia, reported that the number of people killed in the shelling of Bilopillia by the Russian military on July 17 has increased to three. Another woman died in hospital as a result of her injuries.

According to the Regional Military Administration, on July 17, the russians attacked the border communities of Sumy oblast 39 times. In total, there were 252 explosions recorded. Bilopillia, Nova Sloboda, Khotin, Krasnopillia, Yunakivka, Esman, Shalyhine, and Seredyno-Buda communities were shelled.

Bilopilska community was subjected to 29 artillery shells and 22 mortar bombs. Moreover, free-flight aerial rockets were launched from a helicopter in the direction of Volfino village; 4 explosions were recorded. An administrative building, 4 apartment buildings, a garage, 2 private cars and power lines were damaged as a result of artillery shelling in the community.

As a result of mortar shelling of Nova Sloboda community, 3 private houses and a tractor were damaged, and an outbuilding caught fire. 18 bombs fired from mortars and 3 explosions from explosive ordnance dropped from UAVs were recorded on the territory of the community.

The enemy attacked Krasnopillia community with artillery, mortars, and unguided aerial missiles launched from a helicopter. In total, 28 explosions were recorded. 2 private houses and an outbuilding were damaged on the territory of the community. 43 explosions fired from mortar systems were recorded in Seredyno-Buda community. A private house caught fire as a result of shelling.

The enemy continues to strike the Ukrainian border areas. At night and in the morning of July 18, the russians shelled Khotyn and Shalyhine communities. In total, 19 mortar bombs were recorded.

According to Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Chernihiv and Sumy directions remain the hottest in the Northern operational area. While launching attacks on the border area with various types of weapons, the enemy also involves sabotage and reconnaissance groups. According to the commander, civilians and civilian infrastructure are most often targeted by russian killers.

Chernihiv oblast

According to the information provided by the ‘North’ operational command, over the past 24 hours, the enemy shelled Snovsk and Semenivka communities in Chernihiv oblast. In total, there were 11 shells fired. In Semenivka region, Hremyachka village came under fire – there were 2 explosions allegedly from unguided aerial missiles launched from a helicopter; and Yanzhulivka village sustained 2 explosions, allegedly fired from first mortars. In Snovsk region, the enemy attacked Huta Studenetska village, resulting in 7 explosions allegedly fired from mortars.

Chernihiv Regional Military Administration reported that russian strikes on Yanzhulivka village, Novhorod-Siverskyi region, caused hay to catch fire in a hangar of a former farm. Two mortar bombs were fired on the territory of the village, which resulted in the destruction of 120 bales of hay.

According to Serhiy Malyavko, head of Chernihivvodokanal, Chernihiv received pumps worth 320,000 euros as a donation. The American concern Xylem provided the aid in the form of three powerful and one backup pumps.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, the Air Force successfully shot down an enemy Shahed over Dnipro oblast at night. The russians also shelled Nikopol with heavy artillery and attacked Velyka Mykhailivka community in Sinelnykove region. In the afternoon, the occupiers shelled Nikopol with heavy artillery. A mobile phone tower was damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​The “Nezlamni” (Invincible) National Rehabilitation Centre performed a complicated surgery and saved the finger of a 29-year-old serviceman Ihor Deilyk from Vinnytsia oblast.

Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov announced that one more Mavic quadcopter has been handed over from Vinnytsia region for the 131st reconnaissance battalion.

Kirovohrad oblast

Natalia Revenko, director of the regional department of economic development and trade, said that 131 IDPs who fled hostilities in their home communities have been employed by enterprises in Kirovohrad oblast. 

According to Olha Tomilenko, Head of the press service of regional territorial defence, soldiers of the 121st separate territorial defence brigade of Kirovohrad oblast hide the abandoned cats and dogs in the shelters.

Poltava oblast

In Kremenchuk, they paid farewell to Yaroslav Otrok, an Azov soldier born in 2001. As a sapper of the Azov regiment, Yaroslav was involved in the defence of Mariupol. In May, on the orders of the command, he left Azovstal and was taken prisoner, where on the night of 28-29 July 2022, despite international guarantees, the russian army carried out a mass execution of captured Ukrainian defenders.

Cherkasy oblast

According to Head of the Cherkasy State Administration Ihor Taburets, 68 sets of radios, 17 thermal imagers, 7 Mavic, Starlink and a four-wheel drive vehicle were delivered from Cherkasy to the 118th separate terrorist defence brigade.

The organisers of a charity screening of the play called “Shantrapa” at the Cherkasy Regional Drama Theatre raised UAH 24,000 for the Armed Forces.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Defence Forces of Ukraine stated that they continue to conduct an offensive operation towards Melitopol and Berdiansk, gain a foothold on the achieved lines, launch artillery attacks and carry out counter-battery measures. According to the General Staff, in total, Defence Forces aviation launched 11 strikes on areas where personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated and 3 on anti-aircraft missile systems of russian soldiers.

Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration informed that yesterday on 17 July, russian troops attacked 24 settlements. Orikhiv and other settlements in Polohy and Vasylivka regions were once again hit. A 72-year-old resident of Orikhiv was killed, women aged 43, 73 and 79 and men aged 48 and 75 injured. 

Yurii Malashko, head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, said that Zaporizhzhia NPP continues to be used by russians as a base for storing ammunition and the invaders are also shelling our settlements from this territory, knowing that Ukraine cannot respond. He added that the radiation situation remains within current standards.

In Zaporizhzhia, Oplich HUB community centre, a safe, inclusive space where residents can receive psychological support and reduce stress, has been opened at Palace of Culture of Metallurgists. The purpose of the centre is to unite Zaporizhzhia residents for mutual support and assistance in times of uncertainty. It was initiated by the UN Global Agreement in Ukraine and Riatuiemo Zhyttia (Saving Lives) Metinvest Group humanitarian initiative.

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that ronight, there was a massive russian missile and drone attack on the southern part of Ukraine. The attack was long, in several waves. Four Shahed-136 attack drones were shot down over Mykolaiv oblast. However, one hit an industrial facility. A fire broke out on the site, covering an area of 500 square metres. Rescuers extinguished it only in the morning. There is no information about the casualties.

Mykolaiv received powerful generators for critical infrastructure facilities. These are 10 stationary diesel generators worth a total of over UAH 5.16 million, namely: Genset AGG C88D5 (5 units), JCB G65QS (2 units) and ATLAS COPCO QAS 110 (3 units). The equipment was purchased with the funds of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation and transferred to Mykolaiv by Ukrainian Foundation Charitable Foundation as part of the US Agency for Democratic Governance in Eastern Ukraine (DG East) International Development project.

Odesa oblast

Odesa Regional Military Administration informed that on the night of 18 July, russian troops conducted a massive, combined attack on southern Ukraine, launching six Kalibr missiles and more than 20 Iranian Shahed-136 drones towards Odesa and Mykolaiv. According to the military, air defence shot down all the missiles. One of the missiles fell on a residential building, injuring a man. The aftermath of the air battle, including the blast wave, damaged some port infrastructure facilities, but not the production facilities directly.

According to the press service of Odesa City Council, the city continues to provide defenders with the necessary supplies. Another 11 terrain vehicles were given to Odesa territorial defence brigades. The military also received 7 bath laundry complexes which are needed in places where there are no facilities to take a shower and wash clothes.

Kherson oblast

Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, head of the press service of Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that today russian army attacked Zmiivka. They also dropped bombs near Antonivka Road Bridge. There were no casualties. 

Around 3:20 pm, russian troops shelled Veletenske, Bilozerka community. Doctors diagnosed a 73-year-old woman with a mine-blast injury and a leg wound. She received medical aid.

Kherson RMA reported that at night russian soldiers attacked Sadove and Kherson. In total, they attacked Kherson community 36 times. There was destruction in Inzhenerne and Komyshany. One person was injured. 

During the day, russian troops targeted settlements of four communities in Beryslav region. Among them were Dudchany of the Mylove community. The village was under attack at night and in the morning, damaging buildings.

Southern Air Command reported that soldiers of an anti-aircraft missile brigade destroyed one Merlin-BP reconnaissance drone and two Lancet strike drones.

Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister, announced that the government has approved a resolution on a pilot project to rebuild Kakhovka HPP. The programme is designed for two years: first, engineering structures will be designed, and secondly, which will begin after the de-occupation of the territories near the hydroelectric power plant, will include construction. 

The central part of the temporarily occupied Hola Prystan remains flooded with water reaching a metre in some places. About a thousand people remain in the city. There are no medical, banking, transport and communal services. Churches are providing water and food. People are cleaning their homes on their own to prepare for winter.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, reported that on 17 July, russian troops shelled Kherson oblast 95 times. They launched 79 shells at Kherson. Three people were injured.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

In Lutsk a forum on Ukrainian-Polish cooperation as part of the CSS WEI Polish Service for the Reconstruction of Ukraine project was held . Its goal is to involve Polish business in the process of restoring our state, help entrepreneurs and local self-government in finding partners and potential Polish investors.

Zakarpattia oblast

Builders from Zakarpattia are restoring the village of Velika Oleksandrivka destroyed by the russians. 10 builders are working on three residential buildings: replacing the roof, windows and doors.

Another group of children from Zaporozhizhia went on vacation to Miskolc, Hungary. Thanks to the initiative of the President of Ukraine, 94 people (60 children and 34 adults) were in Zakarpattia during the past seven days, and now they went abroad.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that servicemen of the 79th separate battalion of the 102nd separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received a plotter for large-format printing. The device was purchased at the request of the soldiers.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Jadwiga Emilevych, Polish delegation led by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy of Poland and the Government Commissioner for Polish-Ukrainian Development Cooperation. Cooperation and help were discussed.

The RMA held a meeting with Yurg Eglin, Head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine. They discussed mobile medical teams operating in the oblast.

The RMA held a meeting with Elise Vigier, acting head of the Supporting Structural Changes in the Coal Regions of Ukraine Program which is being implemented in Ukraine by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). They discussed the Fair Transformation Action Plan for Chervonohrad coal microregion.

The RMA reported that the Man in Trouble Czech CF sent humanitarian aid to 18 IDPs living in Murovan community.

In the village of Chishki, UAH 27K were collected during a charity event for the needs of the compatriots who are currently on the front lines. Another UAH 6K were donated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Shehyniv community during the Together to Victory charity football tournament.

Lviv students developed an application for determining the type of enemy armored vehicles. In the application, detected enemy armored vehicles are scanned, artificial intelligence analyzes the received data and offers an answer about what equipment it has noticed.

Rivne oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Slawomir Misiak, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lutsk, and Mateusz Marchalek, Vice Consul at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Lutsk. Within the scope of cooperation, an agreement was signed on improving fire safety monitoring.

Hospitals, water utilities and rescuers of Rivne oblast received 9 500 to 1400 kW generators from the World Health Organization.

38 workers from the oblast have already completed the restoration of 63 residential buildings in Kherson oblast. Rivne RMA took the patronage over Kochubey community. They plan to repair 124 damaged houses.

One more power unit in Rivne NPP started up. All 4 power units of the nuclear power plant are currently operating. The total electrical capacity of the RANP is 2 686 MW.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the Strong life Public Organization and Blau-Gelbes Kreuz e.V. fund (Blue-Yellow Cross). They discussed further cooperation, assistance projects for Ternopil oblast and a prospective partnership plan with Germany.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Vadym Svyridenko, Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for the Rehabilitation of Combatants. Medical and social security for military personnel and veterans were discussed.

Over UAH 18 mln were additionally allocated from the regional budget for the security and defense forces. Thus, a total of UAH 65 mln have already been allocated to this goal this year.

Khmelnytskyi oblast received 46 IDPs who arrived by evacuation trains. 800 kg of clothes were issued for almost 700 IDPs at the clothing distribution point at Khmelnytskyi RMA.

The RMA reported that during the week, 378 measurements of radiation background indicators were carried out, no deviations were detected.

Chernivtsi oblast

80 children, including students of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and children of the military from Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Kyiv, Chernivtsi, came to rest in Bukovyna. The holiday is financed from the regional budget and donor funds of the People in Need of the Slovak Republic International Humanitarian Organization.

Sweden will provide Ukraine with about €522 mln. This is the largest bilateral development promotion strategy in the history of Sweden, which has been approved for the period from 2023 to 2027

The USA allocated over $500 mln in humanitarian aid to Ukrainians affected by the full-scale war. Assistance will be provided through UN structures and non-governmental organizations, including local humanitarian organizations.

Azerbaijan allocated $7.6 mln to support the energy industry of Ukraine. Baku actively helps the energy sector of Ukraine with backup power plants, generators and power transformers.

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) recognized russia as an aggressor country and a state that undermines the activities of the Union. In addition, ITU plans to provide full assistance and support to Ukraine in the process of rebuilding its destroyed telecommunications and television infrastructure.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, had a phone conversation with Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary General. They discussed the import of grain from Ukraine.

Oleksii Reznikov, Ukrainian Defense Minister, met with Lloyd Austin, US Defense Minister. The meeting of Rammstein-14 was discussed.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, held a meeting with heads and representatives of foreign representative offices and missions accredited in Ukraine. The meeting took place on the territory of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and was dedicated to the implementation of the Peace Formula of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in particular, the implementation of points related to nuclear and radiation safety.

MEPs called on the International Criminal Court to issue an arrest warrant for the self-proclaimed lukashenko , president of belarus. The European Parliament expressed concern over the political, economic, military and cultural subordination of belarus to moscow, which makes the country a “de facto satellite state“.

USAID called russia’s withdrawal from the “grain agreement” an example of contempt for human life. “This irresponsible decision will have grave consequences for the fate of people and is another example of russian heartlessness and disregard for human life not only here – in Ukraine – but everywhere in the world,” said Samantha Power, USAID Administrator.
