It has been the 698th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian federation continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it does not abandon its plans for the complete occupation of Ukraine. The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, launches strikes, and shells both military and civilian targets. The enemy is actively using aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armoured vehicles.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains challenging.

There were 53 combat clashes. In total, the enemy launched 2 missile and 41 air strikes, fired 28 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged. 

The situation towards Volyn and Polissia remained unchanged. There were no signs of offensive groups forming. Certain units of the belarusian armed forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells settlements from the territory of the russian federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine.

 The occupiers conducted airstrikes near the settlements of Hraniv and Hryhorivka in Kharkiv oblast. More than 50 settlements, including Baranivka, Karpovychi, Leonivka in the Chernihiv oblast, were subjected to enemy artillery and mortar shelling; Znob-Novhorodske, Marchykhina Buda, and Fotovizh in Sumy oblast; Udy, Okhrimivka, Zemlianky, Khatne in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, our defenders repelled four attacks near Sinkivka, Kharkiv region, where the enemy tried to break through the defense of our troops. The enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of Pishchane, Kharkiv region, and Novoiehorivka, Luhansk oblast. More than 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Dvorichna, Masiutivka, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Berestove in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Liman, our defenders repelled an enemy attack near Terny in Donetsk oblast and four more attacks near Makiivka, Bilohorivka, and Serebrianka forestry in Luhansk oblast, where the enemy tried to break through the defense of our troops. The occupiers conducted airstrikes in the areas of Bilohorivka, Serebryanske forestry in Luhansk oblast and Terny, Rozdolivka in Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements suffered from enemy artillery and mortar shelling, including Karmazynivka, Nevske, Dibrova in Luhansk oblast and Ivanivka, Verkhnekamianske, Spirne in Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Bakhmut, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled seven attacks near Bohdanivka, Klishchyivka and Andriivka in Donetsk oblast, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical situation. The enemy conducted air strikes near the settlements of Bohdanivka, Khromove, Klishchiyivka, Bila Hora, Maiorske in Donetsk oblast. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiyivka, Andriivka, Kurdyumivka, and Nyzhyk in Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Avdiivka, our defenders repelled 9 occupiers’ attacks near Stepove and Avdiivka and another 5 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in Donetsk oblast, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defense of our troops. The enemy launched air strikes in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, and Vodiane in Donetsk region. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Pervomayske, Netaylove, Nevelske in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Mariinka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy near Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk oblast, where the enemy tried unsuccessfully to improve the tactical situation 16 times. The enemy conducted airstrikes in the area of Novomykhailivka, Donetsk oblast. Such settlements of Donetsk oblast as Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Heorhiivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Paraskoviivka came under artillery and mortar fire from the occupiers.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions. He carried out air strikes in the areas of Staromaiorske, Donetsk oblast, and Novodarivka, Zaporizhzhya oblast. More than 10 settlements, including Vodyane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Urozhayne in Donetsk oblast, came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, our defenders repelled an enemy attack near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia oblast, where the occupiers unsuccessfully tried to regain their lost ground. More than 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Poltavka, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Shcherbaky, and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

In the area of responsibility of Odesa Joint Task Force towards Kherson, the enemy shelled the regional center of Kherson region, the areas of Shliakhove, Beryslav, Antonivka in Kherson oblast and Solonchaky, Chornomorka in Mykolaiv oblast. The enemy also fired from multiple rocket launchers near the settlements of Ivanivka, Poniativka, Yantarne, Berehove, Veletenske in the Kherson oblast.

The enemy has not given up its intention to drive Ukrainian units from the footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. During the day, the enemy made one unsuccessful assault.

The aviation of the Defense Forces struck 8 areas where enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated. Ukrainian air defense forces also destroyed one X-59 guided missile.

Rocket troops struck at 1 enemy control center, 1 artillery unit and 1 radar station.

The Ministry of Finance informs that last year, the general fund of the state budget spent UAH 1,843.8 billion on the security and defense sector, which is 60.8% of the total amount. The expenditures were used to pay salaries for military personnel, police officers, and medical needs. Military/specialized equipment, ammunition, weapons, helmets, body armour and other special equipment, as well as fuel and lubricants and food were purchased. 

Volodymyr Zelenskyy submitted a bill to the Rada on the institution of multiple citizenship. This document will allow all ethnic Ukrainians and their descendants from around the world to have Ukrainian citizenship. Of course, except for russian citizens. This will also apply to all those who help Ukrainians despite the hundreds of thousands of kilometers that separate them, and to foreign volunteers who are fighting for the country. He emphasized that Ukraine would become a homeland for all of them, and they would be able to feel that being in Ukraine means being at home.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Over the past 24 hours, the Armed Forces repelled forty attacks in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. According to the General Staff, most of the fighting was towards Avdiivka and Lyman. The enemy army continues to try to encircle Avdiivka.   

Volodymyr Fito, Head of the public relations service of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that in January, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a greater number of russian tanks on the eastern front than in December. Since the beginning of the year, as of 20 January, russian losses in the area of responsibility of Khortytsia operational-strategic group amounted to 7,055 personnel eliminated and injured, 931 pieces of military equipment destroyed. The list includes 120 tanks, 218 armoured vehicles, 178 cannons and mortars. For instance, 167 enemy tanks were burned last month. Counting by the day, in December, an average of five tanks were destroyed every day, while now it is six. At the same time, the number of artillery and mortar attacks by the enemy has increased significantly. While in December and early January, russians fired from this type of weapon 400-600 times a day towards Lyman-Kupiansk, yesterday they fired 810 times. In addition, the enemy launched 24 airstrikes and used 54 kamikaze drones. Ukraine eliminated 187 invaders and destroyed 79 pieces of equipment, such as, six tanks, six infantry fighting vehicles, two armoured personnel carriers and two MT-LBs.

Kharkiv oblast

According to Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, more than 20 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under enemy artillery and mortar attacks, including: Udy of Bohodukhiv region, Kozacha Lopan of Kharkiv region, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk, Budarky of Chuhuiv region, Kolodiazne, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove of Kupiansk region.

The enemy launched airstrikes near Hrafske, Vovchansk, Mykolaivka of Chuhuiv region, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Tabaivka, Pishchane, Vilkhuvatka of Kupiansk region.

Yesterday at about 9:30 am, the invaders shelled Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, with KAB aerial bombs. A building was damaged. There were no casualties.

At 12:15 pm, the enemy attacked Pishchane village, Kupiansk region. As a aresult, a 74-year-old man was killed.

Around 7 pm and 8:30 pm, the invaders shelled Vilkhuvatka village, Kupiansk region. The type of weapon is preliminary FAB. A 74-year-old woman was injured. The victim was taken to hospital, her condition is moderate. 6 residential buildings, a shop and an enterprise building were damaged.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 7 enemy attacks near Synkivka, Kupiansk region.

As a result of hostilities, 15,745 customers in 64 settlements of Izium, Kupiansk, Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv and Chuhuiv districts lost power. Power supply is being restored.

Combined teams of bomb experts cleared 2.5 hectares of mines and destroyed 147 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, 1 person was killed and 1 injured as a result of a morning attack on Kramatorsk. russians attacked the city at around 9:25 am. A 49-year-old man was killed and his 31-year-old daughter injured at the site of the hit.

The press service of Donetsk police reported that yesterday the russian army attacked civilians 21 times. There are killed and injured civilians. 14 settlements were under attack: Avdiivka, Zalizne, Kostiantynivka, Krasnohorivka, Kurakhove, Myrnohrad, Selydove, Toretsk cities, Pivnichne settlement, Berdychi, Zoriane, Predtechyne, Ptyche, Rai-Oleksandrivka villages. 94 civilian objects were damaged, including 47 residential buildings, administrative buildings, a house of culture, educational institutions, shops, a driving school, a car wash, a warehouse, garages, outbuildings, vehicles, power lines and a gas pipeline.

The invaders shelled Kurakhove with Grad multiple rocket launchers, killing one person and injuring another. 10 private houses, a garage, a car wash, cars and a power line were damaged.

One civilian was killed and one injured as a result of artillery shelling in Krasnohorivka.

Myrnohrad was hit with two S-300 missiles. A house of culture, an administration building and 5 private houses were damaged.

Russians launched two missile attacks on Selydove. 8 private houses, 2 apartment buildings, a warehouse, garages, vehicles, outbuildings and a driving school were damaged.

The enemy launched two S-300 missiles at Kostiantynivka. 9 houses, educational institutions, a shop and a social infrastructure facility were destroyed.

The invaders launched an airstrike with a KAB-500 bomb on Toretsk. 5 apartment buildings, an administrative building and an educational institution were damaged.

In addition, after midnight, the invaders launched missiles at Myrnohrad. Two people were injured, 7 apartment buildings, an educational institution and cars damaged.

In occupied Makiivka, activists of Zhovta Strichka movement installed a Ukrainian flag on a hill, from which they claim to be able to see russian border. This action was dedicated to the Day of Unity of Ukraine.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, since early morning, russians have been storming positions near Makiivka. Makiivka and Nevske suffered air and numerous artillery strikes. The aftermath of the destruction will be established when the security situation is favourable. Six more attacks were repelled in Bilohorivka. The enemy targeted this settlement and Karmazynivka. The invaders attacked Serebrianka forest from aircraft.

In accordance with the request of the FSB department for the so-called ‘lpr’, the occupation Ministry of Education requires the heads of educational organisations to provide lists of current employees who started working there before 21 February 2014. They will be checked for “ideological content”. In addition, an order has been issued to educational institutions to remove all literature published in the Ukrainian language from libraries. This applies to both fiction, if any is still available, and scientific literature, including methodological publications and manuals developed and published by these institutions.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Donald Tusk, Head of the Polish government, arrived in Kyiv on a working visit. Together with Denys Shmyhal, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, he laid flowers at the Wall of Remembrance of the Fallen Ukrainian Defenders on St. Michael’s Square.

Donald Tusk and Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the new Polish defence package, the increase in weapons purchases for Ukrainian needs, and the possibility of joint weapons production.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Tusk met with Ukrainian students in Kyiv. The event, which took place at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, was attended by students from four Ukrainian universities. The President of Ukraine and the head of the Polish government held a Q&A session with Ukrainian students.

A march in honour of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes took place in Kyiv on January 21. The marchers lit candles and laid flowers at the memorial plaques dedicated to Serhii Nihoian, Mykhailo Zhyznevskyi, Roman Senyk and Oleksandr Badera on Hrushevsky Street.

According to Oleksandr Markushyn, Mayor of Irpin, a delegation of the German Parliament visited the town. Deputies from different factions, heads and staff of the Bundestag offices saw with their own eyes the Irpin destroyed by the russian invaders.

According to Kyiv RMA, it is planned to further develop the chatbot with citizens on the proper functioning of shelters. The chatbot has proved to be effective over the past two weeks. The feedback from Kyiv residents and the information they provide about the actual state of the shelters helps to respond quickly to the situation.

Zhytomyr oblast

According to the Department of Civil Protection and Defence Work of the RMA, there are 213 electric alarms in Zhytomyr oblast to warn the population. The warning is also carried out using loudspeakers, there are 174 devices in the oblast. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in Zhytomyr oblast, the air raid alarm has been heard 989 times.

According to Zhytomyr RMA, over the past year, about 1,500 grants were issued to develop business in the oblast. About 50 events were also held with the participation of business and investors to discuss problematic issues and support business. As part of the business relocation programme, 7 companies moved their production facilities to the oblast.

Recently, the Zviahel City Centre for Social Services hosted an interactive event on mental health for military wives. During the event, the participants, together with a psychologist, discussed important issues for women in wartime.

Sumy oblast

It is reported that russians fired 24 times in Sumy oblast. There were 96 explosions. The Khotin, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, Shalyhyne and Svesa communities were shelled. The enemy struck with mortars, artillery, SPG-9, small arms, also dropped explosive devices from UAVs, and used FPV kamikaze drones.

According to the Sumy RMA, at night, the russian military fired 5 times at the border of the oblast. There were 22 attacks with artillery and mortars. Krasnopillia, Myropil, Svesa and Znob-Novhorodske communities were shelled. 

According to the Sumy oblast State Emergency Service, bomb squads destroyed 19 explosives last week. Since the beginning of the year, there have been 47 cases of detection of explosive devices.

Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of the RMA, reported that a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Sumy RMA and Save the Children International. The issue of providing financial assistance to Shostka residents who suffered from a rocket attack on January 13 is currently being considered.

On the Day of Unity of Ukraine, Sumy presented its own postage stamp – Sumy. Northern Outpost. The author of the sketch is Yurii Khyzhniak. This is the second postage stamp of the regional centre, the first stamp dedicated to Sumy was cancelled on September 2, 2022.

Chernihiv oblast

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, on January 21, russian troops fired 3 times at the border of Chernihiv oblast. The enemy launched 10 mortar attacks towards Snovsk community, 2 mortar attacks towards Semenivka community, and 1 FPV drone attack towards Novhorod-Siverskyi community.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the RMA, reported that over the past week, the enemy fired 35 times at 17 border settlements of Chernihiv oblast. There were 260 explosions. The shelling damaged residential buildings, outbuildings and power lines.

According to Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the RMA, 3 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were awarded in Chernihiv oblast. They were awarded for their personal courage and selfless actions in defence of Ukraine’s state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and loyalty to the military oath. Another 24 state awards were presented to the families of the fallen soldiers.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

3 enemy Shaheds were destroyed by the Air Defence Forces over the region late in the evening. They were shot down in Dnipro region. The falling wreckage caused a fire. There were no casualties.

During the day the enemy attacked Nikopol region 8 times. They used 6 kamikaze drones and fired from artillery. Nikopol city and Marhanets community were hit. A bus was damaged in the district center and a private house and two outbuildings in Marhanets community were hit.

In Dnipro region, a warhead of an X-59 missile was found at a local cemetery. Pyrotechnics removed and transported the explosive item to a specially prepared location and destroyed it.

Modern 6 kW generators and oil heaters were delivered to the medical and rehabilitation centres of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council. These will ensure uninterrupted power supply and heating in the regional institutions in emergency cases. The project was made possible thanks to cooperation with regular partners Wings of Brotherhood and the Ukraine Donation German charity foundation.

Vinnytsia oblast

Ladyzhyn educational institutions raised UAH 50,120 at a charity auction to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Participants of the event had the opportunity to buy painted and decorated shell casings, paintings, dolls, kitchen utensils made from ammunition and patriotic souvenirs. Raised funds will be used to repair two vehicles for the military and purchase a charging station for the defenders of the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk.

Kirovohrad oblast

The South Operational command reported that one Shahed-131/136 UAV was destroyed in Kirovohrad oblast. There were no destructions or injuries among the civilian population.

Poltava oblast

Artem Pohorilyi, a veteran of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Poltava, joined the Armed Forces as a volunteer in the first days of the full-scale invasion. After being wounded near Bakhmut in October 2022, he had his leg amputated. A year after his injury, he and a team of Ukrainian veterans set a world record for strongmen at the Arnold Schwarzenegger International Sports Festival in Madrid. Now Artem Pohorilyi works as a methodology instructor at a children’s and youth sports school, develops his own business and prepares for the US Air Force sports competition. 

Cherkasy oblast

Valeria Bandurko, Head of Cherkasy RMA announced that in Hrechkivka village of Smila, employees of the Global Empowerment Mission Ukraine charity initiative are installing windows in houses that were damaged by a russian missile explosion on December 29, 2023. Almost half a thousand windows in more than 120 houses need to be replaced. Reconstruction works continue.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, invaders launched 145 attacks on 21 settlements of Zaporizhzhia oblast. The aggressors shelled Robotyne and Lobkove with MLRS. 56 enemy UAVs attacked Novoiakovlivka, Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Poltavka, Levadne, Chervone, Charivne, Malynivka, Novodarivka, Novoandriivka, Huliaipilske, Bilohiria, and Kamianske. There were 87 artillery attacks at Orikhiv, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Levadne, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Stepnohirsk, Mali Shcherbaky, Piatyhatky, Plavni, and other front-line cities and villages. There were 2 reports of residential buildings being destroyed. No casualties were reported.

The General Staff reported that Ukrainian forces repelled 7 enemy attacks west of Verbove and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

On January 22, Ukraine celebrates Unity Day. A series of events dedicated to this date took place in Zaporizhzhia. Representatives of the city authorities laid flowers at the monument to Taras Shevchenko and honoured the memory of participants in the liberation movement of all times and warriors who died for the Independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine with a minute of silence. Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and representatives of other structures, local authorities, and religious organizations laid flowers at the memorial monument – the granite cross “To the Fighters for the Freedom of Ukraine” on Khortytsia Island. Also today, a prayer for the unity of Ukraine was held.

Mykolaiv oblast

On January 21, russian forces shelled Ochakiv community twice. There were no casualties or injuries reported. Air defense forces shot down two russian attack drones of the Shahed-136/131 type over the region. This information is provided in the morning summary of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

It is reported that russian Su-34 fighter jet launched a guided aviation missile Kh-59. The missile was destroyed by air defense forces in Mykolaiv oblast. The roof of a non-operational building caught fire due to the falling debris of the downed missile. The fire was promptly extinguished by the State Emergency Service specialists. There is no information about any casualties.

The mental health support project for children, Treasure of Wonders, has been in operation since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. During this period, approximately 300 children from the Mykolaiv oblast have received psychological assistance. Specialists work with children aged four to nine years, with priority given to those who need help, have lost one or both parents, are children of military personnel, or whose parents face daily dangers while working in the State Emergency Service, Territorial Defense, or volunteering. Sessions take place on the MaPanda platform in individual or group formats twice a week. The main mission of the project is to teach children to take care of their mental health.

Odesa oblast

The project Defenders of the South was presented at the media center in Odesa, along with the first charity auction featuring stamps. The stamps ranged from the well-known one dedicated to the phrase of a border guard from Zmiinyi (Snake) Island to those symbolizing units of the defense forces in the south of Ukraine.

The warriors of the mobile fire groups of the Odesa separate Territorial Defence brigade were awarded the Golden Cross by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Their exploits in downing Shahed drones multiple times demonstrate self-sacrifice and high professionalism. They are ready to provide a worthy response and destroy enemy targets in any circumstances.

Kherson oblast

It is reported that the russian army struck Kherson. A 43-year-old man was injured, diagnosed with explosive trauma and minor head injuries. The victim received necessary medical assistance in the hospital.

According to Kherson RMA, russians dropped two guided aerial bombs on one of the villages in Beryslav regions. A residential building and the monastery’s territory were hit.

Also, russians dropped an explosive device from a drone onto a local resident in Beryslav. The man, riding a motorcycle on the street, suffered life-threatening injuries. The identity of the deceased is currently being established.

Yesterday, the enemy launched 84 attacks, firing 453 shells from mortars, artillery, MLRS, tanks, UAVs and aviation. The city of Kherson was attacked with 25 shells. Anti-aircraft defense units destroyed 2 UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type in the sky over Kherson oblast.

Yesterday Kherson, Antonivka, Inzherne, Kizomys, Beryslav, Zmiivka, Novoberyslav, Chervone Maiak, Tyahynka, and Vesele suffered combined enemy shelling. 13 objects were damaged in Kherson region due to russian attacks: 7 private and 2 multi-storey houses, a school, and 3 cars. During the night, the enemy carried out airstrikes on Chervonyi Maiak, Zmiivka, Novoberyslav, and Vesele. Private houses, monastery buildings, and a local resident’s car were damaged. Residential quarters of the regional center were under enemy fire. russian shells damaged the roof of a school, a multi-storey building, and 3 cars in Dniprovsky district.

The enemy does not abandon the intention to dislodge Ukrainian units from positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River towards Kherson. They made 6 unsuccessful assaults and, having suffered losses, withdrew to their previous positions. Our soldiers continue measures to expand the bridgehead. Occupiers do not stop aerial reconnaissance, press with artillery shelling, use a large number of UAVs of various types, and after a long pause, resort to aerial bombings again.

The defense forces continue shelling the enemy’s locations, firing positions, and rear areas. Confirmed enemy losses over the past day amounted to 15 occupiers, 6 self-propelled artillery, 1 tank, 1 mortar, 11 strike UAVs, 3 units of automotive equipment, and 2 diesel generators. Two observation points and a field supply buildup were destroyed.

The police held a brain-ring “Our Unity – Our Weapon” for children of Kherson oblast on the occasion of Unity Day. The event brought together girls and boys of different ages from different schools and settlements. All participants received gifts for activity and correct answers. And at the end, children were awaited by another surprise – the opportunity to sit and take photos in a police car.

Volyn oblast

Schools in Lutsk will be working remotely for several days due to a wave of anonymous reports about the alleged mining of educational institutions. Currently, Lutsk educational institutions will switch to distance education for three days, January 22, 23 and 24. It should be noted that anonymous reports about mass “mining” of educational institutions in Lutsk began to arrive on January 15 and continued for several days.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA started a training session dedicated to issues related to public procurement under martial law. It is conducted by representatives of the Center for Public Monitoring and Research NGO within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation. About 40 specialists from regional and RMAs, local self-government bodies, working in the field of public procurement, are taking part in the training.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk City Council reported that 25 FPV drones and 10 laptops were sent to the 102nd brigade.

Lviv oblast

A Ukrainian record was set in Lviv. On January 21, the largest State Flag of Ukraine was unfurled on Svoboda Avenue in Lviv with wishes from the military and children who were gathered all over Ukraine and the front line. On the Ukrainian banner are 1,3K signatures of children and 148 autographs of soldiers from more than 30 brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The setting of the Ukrainian record was timed to the Day of the Assembly of Ukraine, the proclamation of the 105th anniversary of the Act of Unification of the Ukrainian People’s Republic and the West Ukrainian People’s Republic. The record was registered by representatives of the Book of Records of Ukraine. The flag will be kept in the Lviv Officers’ House.

Velyki Mosty community donated almost UAH 117K to purchase 4 FPV drones to aerial scouts in the city of Bakhmut.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that during the past year, 428 people who were forced to leave their homes due to the war found employment in Rivne oblast with the assistance of the regional employment service.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA reported that Ternopil oblast took part in the celebration of the Day of Sobornost, which took place in Kamianets-Podilskyi. This year, representatives of Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi and Chernivtsi oblasts met on the bridge near the Kamianets-Podilskyi fortress.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

A charity tasting was held in Khmelnytskyi to raise funds for the Armed Forces. Thanks to the event, as well as online donations, it was possible to collect almost UAH 138K for the Ukrainian military.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that in Chernivtsi, on the Central Square, local residents and representatives of the regional and city authorities honoured the memory of Heroes who gave their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Donald Tusk, Prime Minister of Poland, announced that the country became another country that joined the G7 Vilnius Declaration on Security Guarantees for Ukraine.

Donald Tusk, Head of the Polish government, arrived in Ukraine for the first time since his appointment as Prime Minister. It is noted that during the visit, the Polish Prime Minister will meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, and Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister.

Annalena Berbock, Head of the German Foreign Ministry, announced that despite all the turbulence in the world, the European Union should not stop supporting Ukraine. “For us, the central task is, despite all the turbulence in the world, not to stop our support for Ukraine,” Berbok emphasized.

As part of preparations for the Holy Year 2025, on January 21, Pope Francis called on the faithful to pray for Ukraine and other countries suffering from war. “These days, let us especially pray for the unity of Christians and let us not tire of begging God for peace in Ukraine, Israel and Palestine, as well as in many other parts of the world: the weakest always suffer from its absence,” emphasized Pope Francis.

On January 22, russians in Rome, Italy held a “russia without putin rally” rally against the war in Ukraine and the russian regime. Italian politicians Andrea Casu and Andrea Massaroni joined the demostration.
