It has been the 713 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The enemy continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, he does not give up his plans for the full occupation of Ukraine, ignores the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, strikes, attacks both military and civilian objects. The enemy actively uses aviation and quadrocopters of the “FPV” type, conducts assaults with the support of armored vehicles.

The operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.

During the day, 81 combat clashes took place. Also, the enemy launched 4 missile and 17 air strikes, fired 45 rocket salvo fire systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Residential private and multi-apartment buildings and other civil infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

On the Volyn and Poliske directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and intelligence activities, attacks populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of mine and explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Veterinarne, Okhrimivka, and Mala Vovcha settlements of the Kharkiv region. More than 20 settlements, including Pokrovka, Shpyl, Golyshivske, and Kostyantynivka of the Sumy region, were hit by enemy artillery and mortar attacks; Kozacha Lopan, Staritsa, Vovchansk, Pletenivka, Mala Vovcha, Kharkiv region.

The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in the Kupyansk direction. He carried out an airstrike in the area of Pishchane settlement of Kharkiv region. More than 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Sinkivka, Petropavlivka, Kislivka, Kotlyarivka of the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, our soldiers repelled 14 attacks near Bilogorivka, Luhansk region; Terniv, north of Hryhorivka, Donetsk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defense of our troops. About 10 settlements were affected by artillery and mortar shelling, among them Bilogorivka of Luhansk region and Torske, Yampolivka, Serebryanka, Fedorivka of Donetsk region.

On the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces repelled 8 attacks in the Bohdanivka and Klishchiivka districts of the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to improve the tactical position. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka of the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, our defenders repelled 20 attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka and another 8 attacks in the areas of Pervomaiskyi, Nevelskyi, Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defenses of our troops. Also, the enemy carried out an airstrike in the area of the settlement of Oleksandropol, Donetsk region. About 20 settlements, including Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Avdiivka, and Pervomaiske of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Mariinsky direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy near Georgiivka, Pobyda and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Here, the occupiers tried to improve the tactical position 14 times. Krasnohorivka, Georgiivka, Pobyeda, Novomykhailivka, Paraskoviivka came under artillery and mortar fire.

The enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) actions in the Shakhtarsky direction. He carried out airstrikes in the areas of settlements of Staromayorske of Donetsk region and Novodarivka of Zaporizhzhya region. About 10 settlements, including Vugledar, Zolota Niva, Urozhane, and Staromayorske of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery and mortar fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Defense Forces repelled 4 attacks near Robotyny and to the west of Vervovoy in the Zaporizhia region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to break through the defenses of our troops. More than 20 settlements, including Poltavka, Malynyvka, Robotyne, Pyatikhatky, and Plavni of the Zaporizhia region, were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.

In the area of responsibility of the “Odesa” anti-aircraft missile defense system in the Kherson direction, the enemy does not give up its intention to knock out our units from the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnieper. Thus, during the day, 2 unsuccessful attempts to storm the positions of our troops were made. Kherson, Novoberislav, Berislav of the Kherson region came under artillery and mortar fire. The enemy also shelled the areas of Ivanivka, Krynka, Novotyaginka, and Tokarivka settlements of the Kherson region from rocket salvo systems.

During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces struck 13 personnel concentration areas and 2 anti-aircraft missile complexes of the enemy. One Kh-59 guided air missile was destroyed by the forces and means of air defense of Ukraine.

Units of the missile forces struck 1 command post, 1 personnel concentration area, 2 ammunition depots, and 3 enemy artillery pieces.

Parliament approved the Presidential Decree on the extension of martial law. “FOR” – 335. From February 14, 2023 for 90 days. As of May 13, 2024. The Council also supported the extension of general mobilization for 90 days.

The Defense Forces tested the new Shoolika mk6 attack UAV. The drone can deliver precision strikes and is particularly effective in night operations. The Shoolika mk6 strategic strike drone was created by the Ukrainian company SkyLab UA. The drone is currently in the process of being codified by NATO. According to the company, it takes about three weeks to produce 10 Shoolika mk6 copters. This term includes assembly, firmware, calibration, testing and packaging of the product. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Illia Yevlash, Spokesman of Khortytsia operational-strategic group, reported that 12 russian tanks and an air defence system were destroyed in this part of the frontline.

The enemy launched 23 kamikaze strikes and one airstrike there.

They fired almost 700 times from artillery and mortars at the positions of our defenders.

29 combat engagements were towards Lyman-Kupiansk.

Ukrainian troops eliminated 279 invaders and destroyed 88 units of enemy weapons and equipment.

Specifically, 12 tanks, 18 infantry fighting vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, two D-20 cannons, one D-30, 12 vehicles and an electronic warfare station.

In addition, an air defence station of the invaders was detected and hit.

Also, the missions of 34 enemy UAVs were defeated as they were destroyed or grounded.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian troops repelled 101 russian attacks on the frontlines of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. Most of the fighting was towards Avdiivka. Also russian army stormed the area 45 times. In addition, an ammunition depot and 9 enemy trenches were discovered and destroyed.

Kharkiv oblast

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that at around 9 am, the enemy attacked Varvarivka village of Vovchansk community with guided aerial bombs. They hit the building of an educational institution.

Less than an hour later, the invaders launched an airstrike on a private enterprise in Okhrymivka village of Vovchansk community. The shelling destroyed 10 hangars and damaged a truck.

About 20 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under enemy artillery and mortar attacks, including: Veterynarne, Nesterne, Komysarove, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove, etc.

The invaders launched airstrikes on Synkivka, Ivanivka, Stepova Novoselivka and Berestove.

Around 2:30 am in Zolochiv, Bohodukhiv region, a three-storey hotel was destroyed by two attacks with S-300 missiles. A two-month-old boy was killed. The 21-year-old mother of the deceased baby is in moderate condition in the surgical unit, 28 and 39-year-old injured women are in the trauma unit, they have broken limbs. Seven private houses, 19 civilian infrastructure objects (shops, cafes, stalls), 2 administrative buildings and at least 5 civilian cars were damaged.

At 10 pm the territory of a farm was damaged as a result of hostile shelling in Hlushkivka village, Kupiansk region.

After 9 pm, the invaders attacked the outskirts of Kruhliakivka and Hlushkivka, Kupiansk region. In Hlushkivka, a warehouse on the territory of the farm was damaged.

At 8:50 pm, the enemy shelled the outskirts of Kozacha Lopan village, Kharkiv region. The type of weapon is being established. There was no information on casualties.

Ukrainian defenders repelled 8 enemy attacks near Synkivka.

Combined groups of bomb experts cleared 19.15 hectares of territory and destroyed 243 explosive ordnance.

The press service of the State Emergency Service in Kharkiv oblast, stated that  the sappers determined that the aerial bomb, that hit a house in Velykyi Burluk but did not explode, was a KAB-250. The munition was removed and destroyed at a specially prepared site outside the village.

Evacuations continue from the communities of Kupiansk region, which are under daily shelling by the invaders. Since the beginning of the year, more than 300 residents, including 30 families, have been evacuated. The number of applications has increased not only from Kupiansk region, but also from Vovchansk.

In general, towards Kupiansk, russians have increased the number of assaults but are using less equipment near Synkivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled 8 enemy attacks in this sector yesterday. The defence capability of the entire region continues to be strengthened. The Defence Forces are holding their positions well.

Donetsk oblast

The press service of Donetsk police informed that four settlements were under attack during the day: Avdiivka, Pokrovsk cities, Pervomaiske and Rivne villages. Also russian troops shelled the residential sector with aircraft, Iskander-M, S-300 and artillery.  8 civilian objects were damaged, such as, 2 residential buildings, an enterprise and critical infrastructure.

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, towards Pokrovsk, a person was injured in Avdiivka. Novoselivka Persha of Ocheretyne community was shelled by Uragan MRLs, causing no casualties.

Towards Kramatorsk, Torske and Zarichne of Lyman community were shelled.

Towards Bakhmut, 3 infrastructure facilities were damaged in Shcherbynivka of Toretsk community. A school, a private house and 2 warehouses were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. Rozdolivka, Vasiukivka and Fedorivka of Soledar community were shelled. A non-residential building was damaged in Siversk.

Within a day, power engineers managed to repair the damage and restore electricity supply to one settlement with 8825 families.

74 settlements along the frontline are almost completely without power. Despite these conditions, many people are still refusing to leave for safer areas.

Oleksandra Havrylko, Spokeswoman of Donetsk police, reported that  since the beginning of the year, police officers of White Angel unit have evacuated 123 people from Avdiivka. About ten people are taken out in one trip. Relatives of locals are asking to take their families out but not everyone is still willing to go.

Yaroslav Chepurnyi, Spokesman of 79th brigade, informed that russian troops stormed the positions of the Brigade towards Marinka on 5 February with three convoys of vehicles.  According to him, it was the most powerful assault since the beginning of February.  

Russian troops are not reducing the intensity of their assaults on Avdiivka as they are trying to capture the city before the presidential elections in russia in March. The occupation army is not sparing people. During the four months of constant assaults, they have lost more soldiers than the Soviet Union did in Afghanistan.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the enemy intensified artillery pressure on Nevske and Bilohorivka. Enemy shelling around these settlements is almost round-the-clock. Whenever possible, russians use aircraft to attack Ukrainian military fortifications, especially, yesterday  in Serebrianka forest. With support from the sky, the invaders attacked about 20 times in several places towards Lyman. They were unsuccessful, including in Bilohorivka.

Kremlin is preparing for the next wave of forced mobilisation, which is expected after the presidential re-election in russia. Specifically, they insist on recruiting migrants from Asia, Ukrainians who have moved to the regions of russian federation and those who have remained in the occupied territories. In this way, russian authorities intend to keep the level of social tension in society. However, having received new passports, most of these Ukrainians are already registered in the military.

 

The invaders no longer promise residents of Novodruzhesk, which is located near Lysychansk, any electricity, centralised water supply or heating. Sometimes they are brought technical water.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Yevhen Silkin, assistant to the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for strategic communications announced that there is a very high probability of the enemy using sabotage and reconnaissance groups (SRGs) in the Northern operational zone. SRGs trying to cross the border are professionally trained specialists, usually officers of the main intelligence directorate of general staff of the russian federation, who comprise a group of 10-15 people. The goal of such SRGs is to go 1-5 kilometers deep into the territory of Ukraine in order to disturb the local residents and the military, therefore it is not desirable for civilians to live in this territory. 

Kyiv oblast

The General Director of the International Nuclear Energy Agency, Rafael Mariano Grossi, arrived in Kyiv for a visit. Before the visit to the ZNPP, he held meetings with the heads of the Ministry of Energy, the State Atomic Energy Regulatory Commission and the Energy Agency.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported that the restoration of the Hostomel dispensary, which was significantly damaged by the russian invaders at the beginning of the full-scale war, was completed in the Kyiv oblast. It was possible to restore the Hostomel dispensary thanks to the USAID project “Support for health care reform”. With the support of the project, new medical equipment was purchased and installed.

Irpin city council reported that the first 18 applications from residents of the community for new construction on the site of destroyed houses were approved. The implementation of the state program “eRestoration” regarding monetary compensation for property destroyed by the russians is ongoing – payments have been approved for more than 3,000 owners of destroyed homes. 51 applications for compensation for the repair of houses and apartments in the amount of UAH 4.2 million were also approved. 20 residents of the community will receive cashless certificates for the total amount of UAH 78.2 million, intended for the purchase of housing.

KCSA reported that in 2024, it is planned to bring almost 300 shelters into order in the capital, as well as equip several dozen new ones. Over the past two years, 1,582 shelters have been repaired in Kyiv. For this purpose, the city allocated almost UAH 1.8 billion to district state administrations, since the vast majority of protective structures are on the balance sheet of district services.

The Center for the Rescue of Wild Animals reported that the condition of the lioness Yuna is gradually improving after the concussion she received during the russian missile attack on the Kyiv oblast on January 2. The contusion led to a complete loss of coordination, only a week later the lioness began to stand up without falling.

A regional conference was held in Irpin, dedicated to the restoration of residential buildings and the provision of housing for internally displaced persons as part of the “Housing for life: comprehensive solutions for IDPs” project. The event was attended by project donors, people’s deputies and heads of territorial communities, representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Energy Efficiency Fund. It was about the prospects of improving the program eRestoration, ways of helping communities during housing reconstruction with the participation of affected communities.

In 2023, more than 5,200 calls were received to the “hotline” of Kyiv RMA. The largest number of questions related to social protection of the population. Residents of the oblast were also interested in information about the location and arrangement of shelters, the rules for traveling abroad under the “Shlyakh” program, the lack of electricity, and more.

Zhytomyr oblast

On February 5, the Zhytomyr City Council signed a memorandum with the Portuguese state company Construção Pública on the reconstruction of the 25th Lyceum destroyed during the russian attack in 2022. Company representatives presented the concept of a rebuilt lyceum during the 3rd forum on the restoration of Zhytomyr oblast.

Vitaliy Bunechko the Head of Zhytomyr RMA announced that a working meeting was held with friends and partners from the Republic of Estonia, during which specific plans and further cooperation on the restoration of the oblast were discussed. Estonia will participate in the restoration of the Malyn Children’s School of Arts damaged by russian airstrikes, the construction of an apartment building for internally displaced persons, and the reconstruction of three high-rise buildings damaged during shelling.

Zhytomyr RMA reported that the ceremonial opening of the second part of the kindergarten in the city of Ovruch, implemented as part of cooperation with the government of Estonia, took place. At the first stage of construction, a room for four groups of children, a hall, a kitchen, bathrooms and a shelter were created. In the second stage, kindergartens were expanded by another 80 places.

On February 7, a seminar will be held for veterans and demobilized servicemen on the topic “Starting and developing a veteran’s business. Grants. Teaching”. The event will take place in the center for support and development of entrepreneurship of the Zhytomyr branch of the regional employment center.

Sumy oblast

On February 5, the russian military shelled the city of Vorozhba, located 12 kilometers from the border with the russian federation, with MLRS and artillery. As a result of the shelling, a 40-year-old man died, two people were injured. As a result of the russian strikes, at least 8 private houses, commercial buildings, electrical networks, and Internet connections were damaged. According to the mayor of the city Andriy Druzchenko, the damage is being repaired at the expense of the local budget, and international organizations, which provide assistance after the shelling, are also involved.

In total, 289 explosions were recorded on the territory of Sumy oblast during the past day – the russians carried out 51 shellings of the border areas. The enemy used mortars and artillery, MLRS, grenade launchers, lounched FPV drones and dropped VOG from UAVs. Yunakivka, Khotyn, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Putivl, Shalyhine, Esman, Seredina-Buda communities were under enemy shelling. Three people were wounded as a result of the mortar shelling of the Seredyna-Buda community.

Sumy RMA reported that on the night of February 6, the russians launched two shellings. The russian military fired 2 artillery strikes on the territory of the Shalyhine community, and 3 mortar strikes on the territory of Esman community.

“Sumy” Operational-tactical grouping of troops reported that FPV operators of the Konotop Witches unit from Sumy oblast destroyed two russian “Murom” video-thermal surveillance systems. The “Murom” systems allowed russian servicemen to monitor the movements of the Ukrainian Defense Forces near the border. Also, with the help of these surveillance complexes, the russian army could adjust the artillery shelling of populated areas of the Sumy oblast and accompany its sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

Volodymyr Artyukh, the head of Sumy RMA reported that UNDP plans to implement a pilot project to support veterans in 6 communities of Sumy oblast. The total budget of the program is 1.6 million US dollars, which is covered by the donor – the Government of the Netherlands.

The management of Sumy RMA held a number of meetings with international partners to discuss the results of 2023 and plans for 2024. In particular, with representatives of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the Sumy regional organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine and the Swedish Red Cross. The parties analyzed the directions of assistance in 2023 and the projects currently operating in the region.

Chernihiv oblast

Chernihiv border detachment reported that russian troops attacked three border communities of the oblast on February 5. As a result of the shelling of the Novhorod-Siverskyi community, a power line was damaged – one hit from a mortar near the village of Hremyach. The enemy made two mortar strikes on the territory of the Semenivka community, carried out three strikes by FPV drones in the area of the village of Zarichchya and seven mortar hits near the village of Khrinivka, Snovsk hromada.

The Head of Chernihiv RMA Vyacheslav Chaus said that during the time after the liberation of the oblast from russian occupation, the russian military fired more than 15,000 shells along the border. According to him, about 13,000 people currently live there – “the enemy shot at everyone at least once.”

In December 2023, five russian Shahed drones were shot down over Chernihiv oblast. The Head of Chernihiv RMA Vyacheslav Chaus said that about 30% of the attack drones that fly to Kyiv go through our oblast. Work continues on the creation and completion of mobile fire groups in the oblast.

The head of the regional military administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, informed about the meeting with the deputy of the German Bundestag, the head of the German-Ukrainian parliamentary group, Robin Wagener. It was about the possibility of evacuating civilians, organizing an educational process, equipping mobile fire groups on the territory of border communities.

Director of Chernihiv regional drama theater Serhiy Moisienko said that the main auditorium was opened in the institution after the russian missile strike on August 19, 2023. Emergency work to stabilize the building lasted almost six months. During this time, thanks to the help of international organizations, a suspended ceiling was installed in the main auditorium, and all the windows and entrance oak doors were completely replaced in the theater.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

The RMA reports that an enemy missile was destroyed by the Air Defence Forces in Dnipro region.

The occupiers continue to terrorize Nikopol region and its residents. 2 Marhanets residents were injured during the day. A 50-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man were wounded. Both are in moderate condition, the woman will be treated at home, the man was hospitalized. In total, the enemy launched 6 attacks at the region. They launched 3 kamikaze drones and about two and a half dozen artillery shells. They shelled Nikopol itself, Myrove and Marhanets communities. In the district center, an infrastructure facility, 3 houses, a garage, a gas pipeline and fences were damaged. In the Marhanets community, 4 private houses and a car were hit.

Vinnytsia oblast

According to the City Council in 2023 210 children in Vinnytsia, including IDPs, received the status of a child affected by hostilities and armed conflict. Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine 4 foster families with 9 children deprived of parental care have moved to Vinnytsia city territorial community and are now living there.

Kirovohrad oblast

Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA reported that the construction of shelters in educational institutions of Kirovograd region is among the priorities this year. In particular, in the regional center where the largest number of schools and kindergartens are located, 28 facilities are planned to be overhauled. And more than 10 will be repaired. The projects have been prepared. The expertise has been obtained. Tender procedures have already begun for some construction projects.

In Kropyvnytskyi young men are taught military skills for free. This includes tactical medicine, knife fighting and orienteering with weapons. The trainers are active military personnel. The classes are organized by the Centuria public organisation. It is a youth movement of the Third Separate Assault Brigade. Anyone of legal age can join it. Currently, Kropyvnytskyi branch has 30 members. Classes are organized 5 times a week.

Poltava oblast

Valentyn Sazoniuk and Valerii Bandurko from Poltava region were killed while defending Ukraine. The soldiers were killed in Donetsk region.

Valentyn Sazoniuk, a 52-year-old senior sergeant, was killed on January 30, 2024, by an unexploded ordnance near Avdiivka, Donetsk region. 

Senior Sergeant Valerii Bandurko was killed on January 30, 2024, as a result of a mortar attack near Avdiivka city. The 55-year-old soldier lived in Sencha village. 

Cherkasy oblast

In Cherkasy workers of a utility company are repairing vehicles for the front line. They plan to repair 4 cars and a truck in a month. The utility workers who repair these vehicles are local residents of Cherkasy. After the repair, they send them back to the front line to the defenders.

In Cherkasy the military met the wife and newborn son of their fallen comrade from the hospital. The baby is only a few days old. He is the son of the defender Oleksandr Nikolayev, call sign Kuvyrok, a scout with the 118th Separate Brigade who was killed last year in Donbas. According to the Brigade’s Press Service her husband’s comrades-in-arms came from the east to congratulate newborn Tymofiichyk’s mother, as well as his relatives and the command of the 118th Brigade. 

A schoolboy from Uman received a medal from the military. Ilya Revutskyi, a student of the 4th grade of Uman gymnasium No. 11, received it from the 65th Mechanized Brigade soldiers. Since the first days of the full-scale invasion, the young Uman resident has been a member of the volunteer movement with his parents. His duties include preparing vehicles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces: cleaning the interior, washing, and helping with painting. They say that sometimes he even has to do his homework in the field.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Zaporizhzhia RMA reported that on February 5, the russian military conducted 81 strikes on 16 cities and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Specifically, they utilized artillery, MLRS, drones, and aircraft on Novodarivka.

Rafael Grossi, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) stated that at the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), the personnel has been reduced by half. Additionally, the station is nearing the end of the operational lifespan of its nuclear fuel, which could pose a serious threat to nuclear safety. There have been instances where agency representatives were denied access to certain areas of the ZNPP.

Mykolaiv oblast

The press service of the Mykolaiv RMA reported that on February 5, the russian military launched 6 strikes on communities in Mykolaiv oblast. Additionally, the russian military launched an X-59 guided missile, which the Defence Forces shot down. There were no casualties or injuries reported.

In the first days of February, the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant (SUNPP) staff delivered another shipment of equipment to the military. Several sets of state-of-the-art gadgets were allocated to the unit responsible for defending the airspace over the SUNPP and the nearby city. These devices, with a total value of 646,280 hryvnias, will enhance the effectiveness of neutralizing enemy UAVs. Power workers’ contribution to the Victory effort also includes 18 FPV drones for the motorized infantry. These precision-guided drones are effectively utilized for targeting enemy military equipment. The cost of these “birds” amounts to over 280,000 hryvnias. This information was provided by the Information and Public Relations Department of SUNPP.

Odesa oblast

As of February 6, there is one enemy ship in the Black Sea, equipped with “Kalibr” cruise missiles, with a total capacity of up to 4 missiles. Currently, there are no enemy ships present in the Azov Sea. The situation in the Azov-Black Sea region remains stable, thanks to the actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Occupiers are compelled to keep missile-carrying ships at a safe distance from Ukrainian shores, particularly near Novorossiysk and Tuapse.

According to the Flightradar, an American “Orca” patrols in the Black Sea. The Northrop Grumman RQ-4B Global Hawk reconnaissance UAV, taking off from a NATO base in Sicily (Italy) is gathering intelligence on the movement of russian air defense systems near Crimea and monitoring the russian response to combat situations. Real-time reconnaissance data from allies is being transmitted to Ukraine.

Kherson oblast

Kherson RMA reported that russian forces dropped an explosive device from a drone near a humanitarian hub in Beryslav of Kherson oblast. A woman was injured and hospitalized in moderate condition. 

As a result of the russian shelling of Tokarivka in Kherson, 2 people were injured. During the attack, they were near a local shop. A 49-year-old man was killed.

The Prosecutor’s Office informed that during the night, the russian army shelled the Novotyahynka village in Daryivska community of Kherson oblast with artillery. Houses were damaged, and rescuers retrieved the body of a deceased man from the rubble. 

Olexander Prokudin, Head of the Kherson RMA, reported that on February 5, russian forces fired 181 shells from artillery, mortars, tanks, MLRS, and UAVs in Kherson oblast. They targeted residential areas of settlements in the region and port infrastructure. 5 people were killed, and 1 was injured. 

In the Velykooleksandrivska community of Kherson oblast, a ferry crossing destroyed by the russian military was rebuilt. Servicemen of the State Special Transport Service installed a temporary wooden bridge measuring 18 meters in length. This is the 9th crossing constructed over the Ingulets River.

In Kherson, as part of the “City of Happy Children” project, children and teenagers are being gathered in a safe place. They receive training, communication, and entertainment. The project was initiated by the Regional Center of Folk Art.

Zakarpattia oblast

Volodymyr Subotovskyi, Deputy of Zakarpattia Regional Council, was awarded with the For the Assistance of Troops badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The Health Care Department of Ivano-Frankivsk oblast reported that on the basis of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council, the School of Regional Anesthesia was held by Latvian and Ukrainian specialists. The event was held under the auspices of the Ukrainian Association of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine and was organized by the DoctorThinking platform.

The RMA held a meeting with Svitlana Demianchuk, regional coordinator of the Stabilization Support Services CF in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast. They discussed problematic issues related to the support of socially vulnerable sections of the population this year with the support of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Supporting the Capacity of the Social Rrotection System of the Population to Register IDP project.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Davide La Cecilia, coordinator of the working group from Italy on issues of reconstruction and strengthening the stability of Ukraine. They discussed support and cooperation. Over 200 Italian companies are ready to enter the Ukrainian market or participate in the recovery of the country.

Maksym Kozytskyi In 2024, Head of Lviv RMA, announced that the RMA will provide financial assistance to volunteer organizations, which will be used to purchase goods for the needs of military formations.

Mobile groups to support veterans and their families work in Lviv oblast. The initiative was launched by the Space of Opportunities NGO. All in order for veterans and their families to receive quality and professional services even in the most remote communities. This includes, in particular, the preparation of documents, obtaining benefits and social guarantees, legal counseling, psychosocial support, etc. First of all, it is about the provision of these services at the level of district centers, towns and villages.

The defender from Yavoriv region was posthumously awarded the III degree For Courage Order. Soldier Mykhailo Trubych served as part of military unit A0224. The Hero was killed in May 2022 in the village of Ozerne in Donetsk oblast. The defender’s mother received the award during the commemoration of the Heroes of Yavoriv community.

In Zolochivsk school #2 named after Markiyan Shashkevych opened a renovated school canteen thanks to Zolochiv City Council and USAID HOVERLA.

Rivne oblast

The RMA held a meeting with the management of the Rokada CharitaCF. The result of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA reported that the special unit Cord received equipment, namely, a ballistic bag (40 pieces), the 2nd class neck protection Gorzhet  (40 pieces) and a module for shoulder protection (40 pieces) from Ternopil community .

Ternopil community sent 40 sets of protective ammunition worth UAH 1 mln 168,7K for the National Police unit thanks to the defense capability program to support military formations.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

From Khmelnytskyi, three Nissan cars and sets of necessary equipment were sent to units of the air defense forces of the oblast. One off-road vehicle with the necessary technical equipment was sent thanks to teams of the Service Centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Khmelnytskyi oblast, other cars were purchased thanks to Shepetivsk RMA and the VAV Better Future CF. Also, two sets, which are means of reconnaissance and communication, multifunctional electronic devices, an additional power source and means of surveillance, was sent thanks to Krasyliv community.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that military and combat medics of Bukovyna recieved another aid. In particular, soldiers received a night vision device, which will help to more efficiently and safely take wounded soldiers from the battlefield, because evacuation usually takes place at night. In addition, medical backpacks, tourniquets, stretchers and breathing apparatus, medicines, dressing material, hemostatics, hygiene products, baby wipes, mattresses with warm blankets, thermal underwear, winter rubber for evacuation cars, trench candles, various goodies, etc. were sent to the defenders.

Chernivtsi oblast is one of five oblasts of Ukraine with the Mental health for Ukraine Ukrainian-Swiss project. Through joint efforts, it was possible to open the first mental health center in Chernivtsi on the basis of City Polyclinic #1, where qualified psychologists, psychiatrists and psychotherapists will provide free assistance to Bukovyna residents, and to equip 4 spaces for children and youth.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The Council of the EU and the European Parliament have agreed on the preliminary conditions for providing Ukraine with €50 bln. Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, clarified that the Union plans to start payments in March. The total budget of the fund for Ukraine in the amount of €50 bln will be divided between €33 bln in the form of loans and €17 bln in the form of grants. It is expected that the European Parliament will finally vote for this document at the plenary session from February 26 to 29.

The 3rd round of negotiations with the Netherlands regarding bilateral security guarantees was held in Kyiv. They discussed the revised draft of the relevant security agreement and agreed on positions on individual elements of the document.

Vitalii Koval, Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, met with Hideyuki Matsunaga, new Head of the office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency in Ukraine. They discussed cooperation. JICA is a large Japanese government agency responsible for providing international aid and cooperation to developing countries.

Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the IAEA is meeting again at ZNPP. Before the visit to the station, he arrived in Kyiv and met with Halushchenko, Minister of Energy, Korikov, Head of the State Inspection of Nuclear Regulation, and Kotin, representative of Enerhoatom.
