It has been the 712th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The enemy continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it does not abandon its plans for the complete occupation of Ukraine, ignores the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, launches strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets. The enemy is actively using aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armoured vehicles.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

On February 5, there were 105 combat clashes. The occupiers launched 7 missile and 25 airstrikes, carried out 52 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian injuries. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group were noticed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. More than 25 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Khrinivka, Arkhypivka, Hrem’yach (Chernihiv oblast), Seredyna-Buda, Tovstodubove, Vovkivka, Volfyne, Mohrytsya, Hrabovske, Ponomarenky (Sumy oblast), Veterynarne, Nesterne, and Komisarove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 8 attacks in the vicinity of Syn’kivka (Kharkiv oblast). In that area the occupiers made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The occupiers launched an airstrike near the settlement of Stepova Novoselivka (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 15 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 assaults in the vicinities of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Yampolivka, Terny, Torske, and Hryhorivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area the adversary, with air support, made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 15 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Torske, Serebryanka, and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 8 attacks in the vicinities of Bohdanivka, Ivanivske and Klishchiivka (Donetsk oblast), where the occupiers made unsuccessful attempts to improve their tactical situation. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Vasyukivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 24 attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka and 14 more attacks near Pervomaiske, and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the occupiers, with air support, made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The invaders launched an airstrike near Lastochkyne (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars more than 15 settlements, including Oleksandropil, Novobakhmutivka, Ocheretyne, Avdiivka, Pervomais’ke, and Netailove (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Marinka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders in the vicinities of Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the adversary made 24 unsuccessful attempts to improve its tactical situation. The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Pobjeda, Novomykhailivka, and Katerynivka were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Shakhtarske, the enemy conducted no offensives. The occupiers launched an air strike in the vicinity of Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Blahodatne (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 2 attacks near Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). In that area, the occupiers made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense, to no success. 20 settlements, including Charivne, Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove, Lobkove, Piatykhatky, Stepnohirsk, and Plavni (Zaporizhzhia oblast) were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, Odesa operational-strategic group,  the occupiers do not abandon their intention to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. Thus, during the day, the enemy made 2 unsuccessful assaults on positions of Ukrainian troops. The adversary fired artillery at the city of Kherson, and the city of Ochakiv (Mykolaiv oblast).

During the day of February 5, the Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 1 buildup of enemy troops, 2 command posts and 2 ammunition depots.


Currently, about 200 companies produce drones in Ukraine, and the year before last there were only seven. In 2023, Ukrainian companies produced and the state purchased 100 times more drones than in 2022. The government is systematically working to increase the number of Ukrainian drones at the front.

Ilia Yevlash, Head of the press service of the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops, says that the enemy has concentrated 40K troops near Kupiansk. In addition to these troops, there are also armoured combat vehicles, which also number more than 600 units, a little over 400 artillery systems, and more than 150 multiple launch rocket systems. These troops did not appear there suddenly. This number has been there since October. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Ivan Shevtsov, Head of the press service of Stalevyi Kordon border guard detachment, reported that russian troops have almost doubled the number of artillery attacks towards Lyman-Kupiansk compared to the number of attacks before the New Year. According to him, weather conditions allow for intensive use of both artillery and attack drones.

Illia Yevlash, Spokesman of Khortytsia operational-strategic group, informed that towards Lyman-Kupiansk, russians have almost 200 troops killed and injured over the day and 45 destroyed pieces of weapons, including armoured personnel carriers, 2S3 Acacia, and Harmon radar. Also russians launched 9 airstrikes on the positions of the Defence Forces of Ukraine, using Su-34 attack aircraft, guided bombs, Ka-52 helicopters and unguided missiles. Even though, russians continue to concentrate forces on capturing Synkivka.

Kharkiv oblast

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that about 18 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under enemy artillery and mortar attacks: Vesele, Khatyshche, Budarky, Synkivka, Tabaivka, Ivanivka and Berestove.

The invaders increased the number of airstrikes, during the day they hit Mala Vovcha, Ustynivka, Vilkhuvatka, Khatnie, Velykyi Burluk, Kamianka, Kolodiazne, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Kucherivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Krokhmalne, Pishchane.

At 10:25 am, the invaders attacked Kozacha Lopan village, Kharkiv region.

As a result of the shelling at 11 am, Vasylivka village, Kupiansk region, a substation and a private house were damaged. There were no casualties.

At 12:06 pm, Vovchansk was shelled. The glazing and facade of the administration building, the roof, and the ceiling of the administrative service centre were damaged. 4 private houses were damaged. There were no casualties.

At 2 pm, the enemy struck Kolodiazne village, Kupiansk region, with KAB bombs. A two-storey apartment building was destroyed.

At 8:30 pm, as a result of hostile shelling by two MRLs in Horiane village, Kupiansk region, an administrative building, a warehouse and a workshop of an agricultural enterprise were damaged, agricultural machinery destroyed and power lines damaged. The windows and fence of a nearby residential building were also damaged.

At 11:15 pm, a private house was damaged as a result of shelling in Kupiansk. There were no casualties.

At 11:27 pm, the invaders attacked Kozacha Lopan village, Kharkiv region.

Serhii Bolvinov, Head of Kharkiv Police Investigation Department, reported that on the night of 5 February, a russian high-explosive bomb hit a residential building in Velykyi Burluk without exploding, making a hole in the wall. According to him, people were not injured.

Over the day, combined teams of bomb experts cleared 4.04 hectares of territory and destroyed 141 explosive ordnance.

Oleg Sinegubov commented on the information published by Forbes about russian offensive towards Kupiansk. The russian army has been advancing in this direction since February 2022. Also since the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invaders have not abandoned their intention to recapture these territories as this is a logistically important area for them. Therefore, the enemy does not stop shelling every day: UAVs, FABs, artillery, MRLs, drones as russia uses the entire arsenal of weapons in Kupiansk. Heavy fighting has been going on in all parts of the frontline for more than six months now as russians conduct high-intensity assault operations. But the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been repelling the enemy attacks all this time and Ukrainians have been constantly strengthening the regional defence capabilities.

Donetsk oblast

The press service of Donetsk police reported that yesterday the enemy attacked civilians 5 times. Also, the russian army targeted three settlements: Avdiivka, Toretsk cities and Kalynivka village. The invaders attacked with rockets, Grad multiple rocket launchers and artillery. A residential building was damaged.

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, towards Kramatorsk, the outskirts of Kostiantynivka community were shelled, no casualties were reported.

Towards Pokrovsk, the russian army shelled Pokrovsk at around 2 am on 5 February, damaging four infrastructure facilities. Two people were injured in Avdiivka. Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka and Maksymilianivka of Marinka community were shelled.

Towards Bakhmut, 1 person was killed and 2 injured, a house and an infrastructure facility were damaged in Toretsk. Rozdolivka, Fedorivka and Vasiukivka of Soledar community and Pereizne and Verkhnokamianske of Zvanivka community were shelled. Chasiv Yar and Siversk were under attack.

Oleh Kalashnikov, Spokesman of the 26th Artillery Brigade, reported that Ukrainian troops have had some success in Klishchiivka towards Bakhmut but the situation is dynamic and may change.

Serhii Chaus, Head of Chasiv Yar City Military Administration, informed that more than 800 residents remain in the community. Out of the four settlements in the community, there are people only in Kalynivka and Chasiv Yar. The fighting towards Chasiv Yar is ongoing. This week, the russian military fired at the community with artillery, mortars, rocket artillery and drones.

Vitalii Barabash, Head of Avdiivka City Military Administration, said that 952 people remain and this is 14 people less than on 31 January. One more person was evacuated the day before.

Dmytro Lazutkin, Head of the public relations service of the 47th Mahura brigade, stated that in the suburbs of Avdiivka, the russian military is conducting offensive combat operations and they continue to try to find weaknesses in Ukrainian defence and break into the city.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, yesterday the enemy was most active south of Nevske, near Terny in Donetsk oblast. Three enemy attacks were repelled there. However, the number of enemy attacks did not decrease significantly. They fired 113 times along the entire frontline in this area, using 516 shells, specifically, in Bilohorivka. The enemy also used at least 17 unmanned aerial vehicles.

The invaders plan to introduce a UAV technology module in educational institutions of the occupied regions. It will be taught at labour lessons. Children will study technologies, design features, develop skills in building unmanned aerial vehicles and their use for military purposes. The school students will also be agitated to pursue further studies in specialities that are in demand at military plants.

The residents of Rubizhne did not wait for the reconstruction promised by russians before and during the second winter of the occupation so they were forced to install windows at their own expense. In some places, the touring builders dismantled roofs and in some apartment buildings they began the traditional inspection of apartments on 1 February, which, however, was announced several days in advance. This allowed those who stayed in the city to save their property. Empty apartments usually suffered after being opened.

Currently, according to the National Police of Luhansk oblast, the number of identified victims is 652 killed and 571 injured.

Roman Vlasenko, Head of Sievierodonetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that in Lysychansk and Rubizhne, the invaders are not fulfilling their promises to rebuild the cities. The russian military, located in the rear, will vote in Luhansk oblast to increase the turnout in the occupied regions. Students were involved in collecting signatures for putin in the so-called “lpr”.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

According to Kyiv RMA, Makariv is in the process of repairing a residential building on Sadova Street that suffered significant damage in the spring of 2022. All dismantling work has been completed, the foundations of the neighbouring section of the house have been reinforced, and the foundations and frame of three floors have been installed. Specialists are working on the facade insulation in the part of the building that has preserved.

With the support of the Ministry of Veterans, the second Veteran Development Centre is now operating in Kyiv oblast. It is based at Bila Tserkva National Agrarian University. Demobilised defenders and their family members can undergo professional adaptation (training and retraining), receive the necessary psychological, social, legal and other assistance to support their reintegration from military service to civilian life.

According to the National Police of Ukraine, law enforcement officers have identified two russian soldiers who tortured civilians in the village of Zdvyzhivka during the occupation of Kyiv oblast in 2022. The russian military detained 4 villagers and kept them in a cold barn for more than a day, beating them, pouring petrol on one of them, threatening to burn him, firing machine guns, imitating the execution of a prisoner. They will be tried for violating the laws and customs of war.

According to Vadym Tokar, Mayor of Makariv, 22 families from Makariv community have used housing certificates to purchase housing under the eRestoration programme. The total cost of compensation is UAH 57.6 million. So far, 234 applications for certificates of compensation for destroyed housing have been received, of which 217 have been processed.

Yesterday, a demonstration in support of Azovstal’s prisoners of war was held in Kyiv. The relatives of the prisoners say that the soldiers have been held captive for almost 2 years. In addition, they emphasise that over the past two exchanges, not a single soldier of the Azov Brigade has been released from captivity.

Irpin was visited by a foreign delegation of representatives of political, social, religious and academic communities in Brazil. The delegation arrived to establish relations between the two countries, as well as to see the consequences of the brutality of the russian invasion and the active reconstruction of the city in the aftermath of the war.

The Bucha community continues to help the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – 14 modular houses, stoves and insulation have been sent to the frontline. The aid was delivered to the soldiers of the 31st separate regiment of communications and radio technical support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in which Bucha residents serve.

Zhytomyr oblast

According to the State Emergency Service of Zhytomyr oblast, the 46th evacuation train from Donetsk oblast arrived at Berdychiv railway station. It brought 27 IDPs who will temporarily live in Korosten region. Among the evacuees are 8 children and 2 people with disabilities. At the railway station, volunteers offered people tea and sandwiches, and State Emergency Service psychologists provided psychological support. People also received humanitarian and financial aid.

According to Zhytomyr RMA, last year, training was provided for 101 war veterans and family members of fallen defenders of Ukraine for a total of UAH 1.2 million. In addition, two combatants and four veterans’ wives received UAH 250K and UAH 500K in grants under the state business programme.

According to Pavlo Kobzar, Acting Director of the Plast Youth Centre in Zhytomyr, they collect russian-language books for waste paper. The organisers plan to raise UAH 15K to be spent on the Drone project. 

Sumy oblast

According to Sumy RMA, russians fired 24 times at border communities of Sumy oblast. There were 97 explosions from mortars, artillery, aircraft and FPV drones. Khotin, Yunakiv, Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, Svesa, Seredyna-Buda, and Znob-Novhorodske communities were shelled.

At night and in the morning, the russian military fired 6 times at 4 border communities: Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Esman, and Seredyna-Buda. There were 25 attacks with mortars and artillery. 

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, in Sumy oblast, border guards together with soldiers of one of the Defence Forces brigades destroyed two enemy kamikaze drones. On February 3, border guards shot down a russian FPV drone with small arms, which exploded in midair.

According to Yevhen Sylkin, Assistant Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for Strategic Communications, on February 3, on the outskirts of Hlukhiv community, Ukrainian territorial defence soldiers stopped a russian subversive reconnaissance group that was trying to cross the state border of Ukraine. 3 russian soldiers who were part of the russian subversive reconnaissance group were wounded or killed.

Over the past week, bomb squads destroyed 20 munitions in the oblast. They were found in Sumy, Okhtyrka, Konotop and Shostka regions. Since the beginning of the year, 72 explosive devices have been found in Sumy oblast.

Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of the RMA, reported that the Swedish Red Cross is planning to build a modular town for IDPs in Sumy oblast. This was discussed at a meeting with representatives of the Swedish Red Cross delegation, who arrived on a visit to Sumy oblast.

Chernihiv oblast

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, russian troops fired 9 times in Chernihiv oblast. Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk communities came under enemy fire. The enemy fired 7 artillery strikes, 32 mortar attacks, and dropped an explosive device from a UAV.

According to the Department of Civil Protection and Defence Work of Chernihiv RMA, a non-operational shop and a fire station were damaged by the russian shelling in Hremiach. 

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the RMA, reported that over the past week, the enemy fired 45 times at 19 border settlements in Chernihiv oblast. There were 241 explosions, including air strikes. In Novhorod-Siverskyi region, a fire station building and a shop were damaged by shelling. There were no reports of civilian injuries.

According to Chernihiv RMA, over the past year, the oblast’s critical infrastructure facilities received equipment worth about UAH 300 million from various sources of funding. Chernihivoblenergo received technical support worth UAH 45 million.

21 apartments and 4 private houses were purchased with housing certificates. The number of notaries who can prepare the relevant agreements has also increased significantly. More than 30 applications have been submitted under the new instrument of compensation for destroyed housing.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Late in the evening, the occupiers shelled Marhanets community of Nikopol region with artillery. There were no casualties or damages.

During the day the occupiers shelled 4 times in Nikopol region. They fired about 2 dozen shells. They hit the regional center and Myrove community. An agricultural company, 9 private houses, 3 outbuildings, a garage, a power line, a gas pipeline and fences were damaged. No people were injured.

Vinnytsia oblast

Lyceum No. 30 where the roof which was damaged by a missile strike was overhauled. According to the City Council the rafter system was changed, chimneys sheathed, drainage arranged and the old roof completely replaced with metal tiles. Thanks to the insulation the school will be able to reduce overall heat loss and save up to 15% of the school’s heat resources.

Kirovohrad oblast

The RMA reported that during Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Kropyvnytskyi a meeting was held on the protection of critical infrastructure, strengthening the Air Defence and assistance to IDPs. There are more than 90K shelters in the region. He also awarded the defenders who are currently being treated in the local hospital. 

Poltava oblast

The soldiers from Poltava oblast received housing certificates. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy handed them to Yevhen Bova and Serhii Volynskyi. The certificate was also given to the fallen defender Oleksandr Oksanchenko’ family. In total, Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented 30 certificates for flats, including 15 Heroes of Ukraine and 15 families of fallen soldiers who were awarded this title posthumously.

Cherkasy oblast

Cherkasy oblast has once again delivered aid to the 118th Brigade which is defending Ukraine in the hottest spots. These are sets of thermal underwear, IFAK (NATO) standard first aid kits and goodies.

Zoia Vovk, Spokeswoman of the regional police, reported that several schools were mined in Cherkasy. The police received an anonymous tip. Children and crew were evacuated. Explosive experts, dog handlers, investigative teams and patrol officers were working at the scene.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, the occupiers conducted 144 strikes on 20 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy carried out 27 UAV attacks on Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, Novodarivka, Charivne, Malynivka, and Levadne, as well as 6 MLRS strikes on Mala Tokmachka, Novoivanivka, Temyrivka, Robotyne, and Stepove. A total of 111 artillery strikes targeted the areas of Novoandriivka, Huliaipilske, Bilohiria, Robotyne, Kamianske, Mali Shcherbaky, Piatykhatky, Lobkove, Plavni, and other towns and villages along the front line. There have been 2 reports of residential buildings being destroyed.

Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 4 enemy attacks north of Pryiutne and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia oblast. This was reported by the General Staff.

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reports that on February 4, the russian forces shelled Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities using artillery. There were no reported casualties or injuries. 

Mykolaiv received vehicles for utility services and the Territorial Defense Forces.  The French association Narbonne-Ukraine provided these vehicles within the framework of a memorandum of cooperation. The allocated automobiles will be assigned to utility enterprises such as Mykolaivelektrotrans, ELU Avtodorih, and Mykolaivpastrans, as well as the units Territorial Defense Forces. It is worth noting that the Narbonne-Ukraine association has been providing essential assistance to Mykolaiv since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion. During this period, the association delivered 13 trucks with humanitarian aid, medical equipment, and 17 pieces of machinery, including ambulances, buses, firefighting and rescue vehicles, and vehicles for municipal services.

There were 117 air raid alerts in Mykolaiv oblast from January 1 to January 31, totaling 5 days and 12 hours of alerts. Across Ukraine, there were 1742 alerts in the past month.

Odesa oblast

According to Serhii Bratchuk, Spokesperson of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, the russian missile threat has not disappeared; it remains constant, particularly concerning missile strikes from the sea. russian Kalibr missiles are consistently loaded onto missile carriers, allowing the occupiers to launch a sea attack at any moment.

Oleksii Panasiuk, Head of the international relations department at Ukrainian Sea Port Authority, says that since July 18, 2023, Ukraine’s port infrastructure has endured over 30 enemy attacks, resulting in severe destruction. These attacks led to damages or complete destruction of 109 objects and 6 civilian buildings. There are elevators, warehouses for storing grain, oil, and petroleum products, pipelines, administrative and other buildings, as well as transportation and cargo among the affected objects. The estimated cost of restoring Izmail port’s maritime station alone is $1.6 million, while the restoration of the passenger complex and maritime station of Odesa port amounts to an impressive $18 million. 

The restoration of Transfiguration Cathedral in Odesa, destroyed by a russian missile, is ongoing. Funding for the restoration comes from various sources, including concerned Ukrainians.

Kherson oblast

On February 5, the enemy once again shelled Kherson with artillery. Since the beginning of the day, russian terrorists killed four residents of Kherson, and another person was injured and is currently in the hospital.

Yesterday, the enemy conducted 36 shelling attacks, launching 132 projectiles, using artillery, mortars, MLRS, and UAVs. The city of Kherson was attacked with 32 shells. One person was injured due to the russian aggression.

The police of Kherson oblast reported that russian aggressors once again attacked the civilian infrastructure of Beryslav and Kherson regions with artillery, MLRSs, mortars, tanks, and UAVs. The enemy targeted residential buildings, civilian infrastructure, and attacked police groups twice. In the Central district of Kherson, the museum building was damaged. Private houses were damaged, fires occurred in coastal areas of Korabelnyi and Dniprovskyi districts. A police vehicle was damaged during the attack, but the officers themselves were unharmed.

A powerful counter-battery fight and the maintenance of footholds continue in the South of Ukraine. The enemy made 3 assault attempts, trying to dislodge the Ukrainian defense forces. The russian troops sustained losses and backed.

Yesterday, the enemy continued its drone terror against the civilian population in the front-line regions. The russians used 35 FPV drones, 2 combat UAVs of the “Lancet” type, and dropped 16 shrapnel projectiles from UAVs of other modifications.

The enemy lost 29 occupiers and 1 unit of automotive equipment on the left bank. An observation post was destroyed. Reconnaissance of the results of combat work continues.

The police, together with volunteers, evacuated four elderly people from frontline areas. The police carried out an emergency evacuation from Beryslav and Sablukivka, which are shelled daily by the russian army. All communications are destroyed in these settlements, and people survive without electricity, water, and gas.

28 communities in Kherson oblast received IT equipment as part of the “Strengthening Public Trust” project (UCBI – 4) from the United States Agency for International Development. The technology will ensure the stable functioning of communities today and will be useful after the liberation of temporarily occupied territories.

Myroliubivka community received a fire truck, and medical institutions in the region received medicines and hygiene kits. Volunteers also took care of the military, providing them with food packages, FPV drones, and energy drinks.

Kherson hospital received an emergency medical assistance vehicle and medications. The ambulance is a gift from Portuguese donors and Ukrainians who found shelter there with the onset of full-scale invasion. In addition to the vehicle, medicines and care items were delivered. Toys will be handed over to two children’s polyclinics and another one where children are also treated.

Lutsk City Council held a meeting with Ihor Burdeyn, Commander of the 2nd separate rifle battalion of the 68th separate hunting brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush. This military unit, in which many military from Lutsk serves, is now on the front line, where it is heroically resisting the russian onslaught. They discussed support and assistance to the military.

Zakarpattia oblast

Two off-road vehicles were sent to the unit that protects the region’s critical infrastructure thanks to the For the Future faction, deputies of the regional council and the Development of Our City international CF. Jeeps will serve the fighters during missions, increasing their mobility.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk City Council reported that half a hundred drones were sent to the 67th separate mechanized brigades (DUK).

Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Employment Center continues the consideration of applications from employers for compensation of labour costs for the employment of IDPs as a result of hostilities during martial law in Ukraine. Since the beginning of this program, 544 employers from Ivano-Frankivsk oblast have already received a positive decision to receive compensation in the total amount of over UAH 11.6 mln for employing 937 IDPs. Of them, 234 employers applied for compensation for employment of 412 IDPs last year.

Lviv oblast

Andrii Sadovyi, Mayor of Lviv, took part in the inauguration of the Italian city of Trento, which this year was chosen as the Volunteer Capital of Europe. Sergio Mattarella, Italian President, was also present at the inauguration, who publicly expressed his support for Ukraine.

The city of Trento joined the UNBROKEN Cities network and donated over EUR 16K raised by the Aquila Basket Trento basketball team for Lviv.

Over 20 veterans and servicemen from different parts of Ukraine took part in the program for veterans and servicemen From the Frontline to Data Science Consulting. For three months, they worked online with teacher Dominik Deja, PhD, Head of artificial intelligence and analytics at Capgemini Invent, teacher at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technologies (Warsaw). A team of ten mentors, graduates of the Faculty of Applied Sciences of UCU, helped participants.

The author’s exhibition Only Flight was opened in Lviv Museum of the History of Religion. The exhibition of Viktor and Natalia Prodanchuk is an artistic reflection on what Ukraine is experiencing today: war, losses, devastation, pain and at the same time hope and faith. At the exhibition, Prodanchuks presented over a hundred works of contemporary sacred conceptual art: sculpture, graphics, installation, assemblage, painting.

In Drohobych region, UAH 10K were accumulated for the needs of the Armed Forces at a charity football tournament. Part of the amount was donated to Vasyl Tymchyshak, soldier from Truskavets, for drones. The rest was donated to volunteers of Truskavet Information and Resort Center for the purchase of a Volkswagen T-4 bus for the Armed Forces.

Rivne oblast

A National Guardsman from Rivne oblast was trained according to NATO standards. Servicemen of the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to improve their skills and knowledge in order to continue effectively resisting enemy aggression. Junior sergeant Vladyslav, Commander of one of the divisions of the National Guard of Rivne oblast, also received training according to NATO standards in one of the EU countries. Training was conducted by foreign and Ukrainian instructors with previous experience in various hotspots. In addition to tactical and combat training, servicemen had the opportunity to improve their knowledge of medicine, psychology and humanitarian law.

Ternopil oblast

An emergency medical aid vehicle was sent to soldiers of the 3rd assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine thanks to the Center for Emergency Medical Assistance and Disaster Medicine/ Volunteers of the Paratrooper-Cossack Swarm public organization repaired the vehicle.

The exhibition Azov Regiment – Angels of Mariupol was opened in Ternopil Regional Museum of Local Lore organized by Vira Lytvynenko, mother of the fallen soldier Vladyslav with the call sign Vektor. The woman set herself the goal of telling as much as possible about the Heroes who defended Mariupol in 2022. Families of fallen soldiers from Ternopil oblast and captured Azov residents were also invited to the opening. Ternopil has already become the 10th city where a photo exhibition with photos and stories of courage and indomitability of Azov residents are exhibited.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Employees of Khmelnytskyi RMA raised UAH 240K to purchase the necessary technical equipment, namely means of intelligence and communication, multifunctional electronic devices and means of surveillance, to the anti-aircraft machine gun battalion that protects the airspace of Khmelnytskyi oblast.

Chernivtsi oblast

Heroes of Ukraine from Bukovyna received certificates for apartments from the President of Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelensky personally handed documents to colonel Roman Mamavko and junior sergeant Bohdan Mahalias.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The US Senate approved a draft law on aid to Ukraine. Biden urged Congress to pass it. The long-awaited draft law provides for the allocation of $60.1 bln for assistance to Ukraine: $13.7 bln for the USAI program, under which weapons are purchased for Ukraine, both in the US and in other countries; $13.4 bln for repair, replacement and purchase of new weapons for Ukraine, as well as replenishment of its warehouses and partners’ stocks; $5.6 bln for the purchase of shells; $1.6 bln under the FMF program (used for training, equipment, assistance to our partners); $7.9 bln for direct budget support – direct infusions into the Ukrainian budget (it was $1.8 bln in the priority version). Preliminary voting is expected in the middle of the week.

The Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands is preparing 6 F-16 fighters for Ukraine. “Air superiority is necessary to counter russian aggression,” said Kaisa Ollongren, Dutch Defense Minister.

In Finland, the Nammo Lapua’s munitions production plant will increase production fivefold this year due to the war in Ukraine. “The increase in production at the factory in the city of Sastamala, which produces shells for artillery shells, is connected with the war in Ukraine, since artillery shells play a key role in Finnish aid to Ukraine,” said Ilku Heikkiel, regional director of the company.

Juan Cravinho, Head of the Foreign Ministry of Portugal, came to Ukraine. The minister arrived in Ukraine on a two-day visit, with the war and the restoration of the country on the agenda. Cravinho already took part in the III Forum of Zhytomyr oblast restoration, where he explained how Portugal can support Ukraine in its restoration process and in the period of structural reforms to pave the way to EU membership.

Maria Pejchynovych-Burich, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Croatian politician, stated that the format of the future international tribunal against the dictators putin and lukashenko should be agreed through a broad discussion. “This discussion is currently taking place at the level of experts within the framework of the Core Group of States I mentioned. Currently, the moment has not come when the participants of the Core Group will finally decide how and when to create the tribunal,” she said.
