It has been the 714th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The enemy continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it does not abandon its plans for the complete occupation of Ukraine, ignores the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, launches strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets. The enemy is actively using aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armoured vehicles.

According to the updated information, at the beginning of the day, the enemy carried out several strikes at the territory of Ukraine, using various means of air attack: attack UAVs, cruise, ballistic and anti-aircraft guided missiles. A total of 69 enemy air attack means were used: 20 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs, 29 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles, 4 Kh-22 cruise missiles, 3 Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles, 5 Iskander-M ballistic missiles, 5 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles, 3 Kh-59 air-launched guided missiles.  46 air targets were destroyed by combat power of the Air Force and Defense Forces: 26 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles; 3 Kalibr cruise missiles; 2 Kh-59 air-launched guided missiles; 15 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult. During the day of February 7, there were 80 combat engagements. The occupiers launched 49 missile and 66 air strikes, carried out 41 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Residential private and apartment buildings, and other civilian infrastructure in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv and Lviv oblasts were destroyed and damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group were noticed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The invaders launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Yablunivka (Sumy oblast). More than 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Karpovychi, Semenivka (Chernihiv oblast), Volfyne, Popivka, Pokrovka,  Hrabovske (Sumy oblast), Veterynarne, Nesterne, and Komisarove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 3 attacks near Synkivka, and Ivanivka (Kharkiv oblast). In that area, the enemy made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The occupiers launched an airstrike near Tabaivka (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 15x settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 assaults in the vicinities of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Terny, and Torske (Donetsk oblast). In that area the enemy, with air support, made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense, to no success. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Torske, Serebryanka, and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 5 attacks in the vicinities of Ivanivske and Klishchiivka (Donetsk oblast), where the occupiers made attempts to improve their tactical situation. Around 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 25 attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka and 9 more attacks near Nevelske (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the occupiers, with air support, made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The invaders launched an airstrike near Oleksandropil (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 15 settlements, including Oleksandropil, Novobakhmutivka, Ocheretyne, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, and Netailove (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Marinka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders in the vicinities of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the russian army made 20 attempts to improve its tactical situation. The invaders launched air strikes in the vicinities of Novomykhailivka, Kostyantynivka (Donetsk oblast). The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Katerynivka were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Shakhtarske, the russian army conducted no offensives. The occupiers launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast) and Novodarivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Blahodatne (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 2 attacks near Robotyne and Verbove (Zaporizhzhia oblast). In that area, the occupiers made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense, to no success. More than 20 settlements, including Charivne, Mali Shcherbaky, Stepove, Lobkove, P’yatykhatky, Stepnohirsk, and Plavni (Zaporizhzhia oblast), were under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

Towards Kherson, Odesa operational-strategic group, the occupiers have not abandoned their intention to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. The enemy made 3 unsuccessful assaults on positions of Ukrainian troops. They fired artillery at the city of Kherson, the settlements of Tokarivka, Molodizhne, Antonivka, Chornobaivka, and Bilozerka (Kherson oblast). On top of that, the invaders launched MLRS strikes at the vicinities of Kherson and Chornobaivka (Kherson oblast).

The Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 6 buildups of enemy troops, weapons and military equipment.

The Ukrainian rocket troops hit 3 buildups of enemy troops, weapons and military equipment, 2 ammunition depots.


Parliament adopts a bill on medical support for the Armed Forces in accordance with NATO standards. The Verkhovna Rada supported a draft law on organizing an appropriate level of medical support for the Armed Forces in accordance with NATO standards. Draft law No. 10343 was voted in favour by 264 MPs. It is noted that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine approves clinical protocols, logistics sheets, standards for the provision of pre-hospital and pre-medical care during combat operations and training of the Security Forces and Defense Forces for their assigned purposes on the basis of NATO standards; the Ministry of Defense also determines the procedure for compliance with these standards and supervises it.

A coordination headquarters has been set up in Ukraine to bring civil defense facilities into proper condition. On February 6, the first meeting of the Coordination Headquarters was held to bring the facilities of the Civil Defense Facilities Fund, which are of strategic importance for the protection of the population, into proper condition. As part of its work, the center will develop recommendations and proposals for the arrangement of shelters, which will be submitted to the Government. Currently, there is a single portal called “Iron Shelter” that has consolidated information on all repairs and arrangements of civil defense structures across Ukraine and a chatbot where anyone can leave a complaint or request related to the shelter.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Defence forces repelled 83 russian attacks on the frontlines of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. Most of the fighting was towards Avdiivka and Marinka. Also the russian army stormed the area 49 times.

Kharkiv oblast

Serhii Bolvinov, Head of Kharkiv Police Investigation Department, reported that at 6 am, russia attacked Kharkiv with S-300 missiles, hitting the industrial area of Slobidskyi district. There is damage to non-residential infrastructure. One of the missiles hit a concrete enterprise, another missile hit a concrete product enterprise and another hit a roofing enterprise.

Bolvinov added that two of the five missiles fired at Kharkiv on the morning of 7 February were made by North Korea. The metal fragments of the ballistic missiles were collected by bomb experts on the territory of an industrial zone.

The Ministry of Energy said that around a thousand consumers in Kharkiv lost power in the morning as a result of russian shelling, damaging power grids.

The State Emergency Service of Kharkiv oblast informed that at around 4:30 am, russians shelled Vovchansk, setting on fire a 150-square-metre territory of a private house. At 7:30 am, the fire was extinguished. During the day, rescuers also fought fires after shelling in Hlushkivka of Kupiansk region and in Okhrymivka of Vovchansk community. In Vovchansk, a woman and two men sustained light injuries as a result of the shelling but refused hospitalisation.

About 22 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under enemy artillery and mortar attack, specifically: Vovchansk, Okhrymivka, Varvarivka, Kozacha Lopan, Mala Vovcha, Pishchane, Petropavlivka, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, etc.

The invaders intensified their attacks with guided aerial bombs, shelling Veterynarne, Okhrymivka, Mala Vovcha, Pishchane and others during the day.

At 9:40 am, the enemy attacked Okhrymivka village, Chuhuiv region, with two Kab bombs. 10 hangars of the enterprise and other non-residential infrastructure were damaged.

At 9:40 am, Mala Vovcha village was shelled with 4 KABs. 5 private houses, a warehouse and a car were damaged.

At 9:50 am, Varvarivka village was shelled with three KABs. The school building was damaged.

Around 2 pm, as a result of the shelling of Pishchane village, a 70-year-old woman suffered an explosive injury, she underwent traumatic amputation of her fingers and was hospitalised.

At 2:40 pm, the invaders shelled Vovchansk, damaging outbuildings of an enterprise. A private house and a car were damaged as a result of repeated shelling.

Combined teams of bomb experts cleared 16.65 hectares of territory and destroyed 238 explosive ordnance.

The press service of Zolochiv Regional Administration reported that the 21-year-old mother of a baby killed during missile attacks on Zolochiv on 6 February underwent surgery. On the morning of 7 February, the woman was in intensive care in critical condition. The 39 and 28-year-old injured are in satisfactory condition in the trauma department.

Hambarashvili, Head of Vovchansk City Military Administration, stated that russians struck the border community with six guided aerial bombs during the day. According to him, almost 11,000 people remain in the community, 3,500 of them in Vovchansk.

Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that towards Kupiansk, russians have about 40,000 soldiers but are forced to replenish their forces due to losses. According to him, russians have been conducting assaults towards Kupiansk for six months already.

Donetsk oblast

The press service of Donetsk police reported that the invaders attacked residential area 7 times. The enemy used missiles, S-300, Uragan MRLs and artillery. 6 settlements were targeted: Avdiivka, Kurakhove cities, Hostre settlement, Maksymilianivka, Novoselivka Persha and Oleksiivka villages. 2 residential buildings, an outbuilding and a civilian car were damaged.

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, towards Pokrovsk, a person was injured in Avdiivka. Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka and Maksymilianivka of Marinka community and Novoselivka Persha of Ocheretyne community were shelled. A person was injured and a house damaged in Hostre of Kurakhove community.

Towards Kramatorsk, Lyman community suffered 27 shelling attacks, with no damage. The outskirts of Kostiantynivka community were under attack.

Towards Bakhmut, there were isolated attacks on Toretsk and Chasiv Yar communities. Rozdolivka and Fedorivka of Soledar community were shelled. A house and 2 non-residential premises were damaged in Siversk.

The enemy destroyed more than 110,000 houses in Donetsk oblast over two years of full-scale invasion.

On February 6, emergency repair teams of DTEK Donetsk Power Grids managed to restore power supply to 2 settlements that were cut off due to shelling. Over 60 repair teams are working in the region every day to repair all the damage as soon as possible.

Police evacuated a child from Novoselivka Persha village together with his 15-year-old brother, 19-year-old sister and mother. The family took their pets with them, three dogs and four cats.

Vitalii Barabash, Head of Avdiivka City Military Administration, reported that volunteer Vladyslav Makhovskyi from Zaporizhzhia was injured in Avdiivka, he received medical assistance but his car was completely destroyed by invaders’ second strike.

Luhansk oblast

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, russians have not been able to break through Ukrainian defences in Bilohorivka for a long time. However, the enemy does not stop these attempts and is constantly gathering reserves. Moreover, the enemy used artillery on the territory of the settlement. The invaders launched almost 600 shells at this area of the frontline over the day.

The private sector in and around Kreminna also suffered from flooding. Many people have water not only in their yards but also in their homes. In villages near Sievierodonetsk and Stanytsia Luhanska, residents have been waiting for help for two weeks, while those of Kreminna have been rejected by both utility companies and fire brigades.

Throughout the so-called ‘lpr’, examination of men have been intensified. They check for a mark of military registration. In case of its absence, people disappear from the checkpoints. Mobilisation will take place after the March elections.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv RMA, reported that the enemy again massively attacked Kyiv oblast with missiles. Debris fell in 8 settlements in 2 regions of the oblast. 2 people were injured as a result of the shelling. The enemy missiles damaged 14 private houses, outbuildings, fences and several cars. In one of the educational institutions, windows were partially smashed and doors cut. In two apartment buildings, there was debris in the apartments.

According to Serhii Popko, Head of Kyiv City Military Administration, this is the third missile attack on Kyiv in 2024. The enemy used X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles. The air alert in the city lasted almost 3 hours. The missiles came at the capital in several waves from different directions. The air defence forces shot down about two dozen enemy missiles over Kyiv and in the area of the capital.

A russian missile strike in the capital killed 4 people and injured 40.

A fire broke out in a multi-storey residential building in Holosiivskyi district. The fire also broke out at a service station, causing about 40 cars to burn down or be damaged. An emergency rescue headquarters was set up at a nearby school in the district. The victims can keep warm, drink tea, have lunch, receive medical and psychological assistance, and get advice on further steps.

The falling debris damaged high-voltage underground power cables. A short circuit occurred at a transformer substation on the border of Dniprovskyi and Desnianskyi districts of the capital. In the afternoon, power engineers used backup schemes to restore power to 29,100 households that had been left without electricity due to the missile attack.

Josep Borrell, European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, arrived in Kyiv. This is his fourth visit since the start of the full-scale war. The purpose of his current visit is to discuss the EU’s unwavering support for Ukraine in the military and financial spheres, as well as on the path of reforms in the EU. Josep Borrell began the morning of February 7 in one of the capital’s shelters because of a russian missile attack.

João Gomes Cravinho, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, took part in a joint press conference with Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, in Kyiv. The Portuguese Foreign Minister assured that Portugal is in full solidarity with Ukraine in countering the russian aggression and supports Ukraine on its path to EU and NATO membership.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv RMA, held a working meeting with Alexandru Victor Micula, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine. During the meeting, the sides discussed a number of issues in which Kyiv oblast needs priority assistance.

Vitalii Klychko, Mayor of Kyiv, met with Vilnis Kirsis, Mayor of Riga, and the Latvian delegation at the building of Kyiv City Council. They signed a Memorandum of Cooperation and agreed to further exchange of experience in the areas of digital transformation, public safety and municipal governance.

Oleksandr Markushyn, Mayor of Irpin, reported that Irpin approved the allocation of funds for another batch of aid to Ukrainian soldiers. The city has allocated UAH 5 million of budget funds for FPV drones, Starlink systems and trench electronic warfare.

Zhytomyr oblast

According to Zhytomyr RMA, the construction of a modern radiation shelter was completed at the Zviahel Lyceum. The new protective structure meets all modern requirements. It has a high-capacity ventilation and heating system, backup power supplies, a medical centre, internet connection, gateway rooms, and is equipped for access by people with limited mobility.

Vitalii Bunechko, Head of Zhytomyr RMA, held a working meeting with representatives of the Caritas Zhytomyr Charitable Foundation. They discussed cooperation to help residents of the oblast who suffered from russia’s aggression against Ukraine. Caritas has already restored more than 3,000 objects in the oblast, including more than 400 residential buildings.

Sumy oblast

According to Sumy RMA, at night and in the morning, russian troops fired 11 times at the border areas of Sumy oblast. There were 30 explosions. Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, and Seredyna-Buda communities were shelled. The enemy attacked with artillery and mortars and carried out two air strikes. A resident of Yunakivka community was wounded.

On February 6, the russian military fired 31 times at the border areasof Sumy oblast. There were 123 explosions. These included mortar, grenade, tank and artillery shelling, an FPV drone attack, the dropping of explosives from a UAV, and an air strike. The Khotin, Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Sloboda, Esman, Shalyhyne, Znob-Novhorodske, Seredyna-Buda communities were under hostile fire.

According to the State Emergency Service of Sumy oblast, after an enemy attack on February 6 in the town of Vorozhba, rescuers carried out emergency restoration work in buildings damaged by the enemy and provided assistance to local residents. They dismantled building structures, insulated windows, and tightened damaged roofs in residential buildings

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations plan to implement a major business support project worth $4.6 million in Sumy oblast. The project will provide grants to farms and private households, agro-logistics centres, farmers’ associations, and small businesses. 

Chernihiv oblast

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, russian troops fired 11 times at the border of Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi community – 2 mortar attacks, Semenivka community – 18 attacks from cannon artillery and 24 mortar attacks, and Horodnia community – 6 mortar attacks.

According to Chernihiv oblast police, on February 6, the russian military shelled an agricultural facility in Novhorod-Siverskyi region. The company’s buildings and agricultural equipment were damaged. No people were injured.

The lyceum in Ichnia community was almost restored, being severely damaged during the russian occupation. The community signed an agreement with the European Investment Bank for more than UAH 25 million to repair the roof, insulate the facade, and build scaffolding. The Kyiv Capital Rotary Club and the Smilyvi Foundation helped to replace windows and doors and repair three burnt-out classrooms. Furniture and computer equipment were provided by the SavED charity foundation.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

At night the enemy launched several drones at Novomoskovsk region. 2 UAVs were shot down by the Air Command East. The falling wreckage and the hits of the remaining UAVs caused destruction in the utility company’s area. Buildings were damaged. A fire broke out and was quickly extinguished by rescuers. Almost all utility equipment was destroyed. Tractors, excavators, multifunctional machines, a dump truck. Enemy drones hit a company engaged in the improvement of the city.  The occupiers also shelled Nikopol region with artillery. They hit the district center and Marhanets community. There were no casualties.

In the morning an enemy missile was shot down over Pavlohrad region. It was destroyed by the Air Command East. It hit an infrastructure facility.

The missile strike in Pavlohrad smashed windows in 3 high-rise buildings. A 30-year-old resident of the city was wounded.

During the day the enemy attacked Nikopol region 6 times. They launched 5 kamikaze drones at Marhanets community. The occupiers also shelled Pokrovsk community with artillery. 3 private houses, two outbuildings, a power line, a gas pipeline and fences were damaged.

In Marhanets community, an enemy drone hit a car. Two people were injured – a 60-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man. Their lives are not in danger.

Vinnytsia oblast 

Over the past few days, 13 soldiers from Vinnytsia oblast have been killed.

On June 13, 2023, Anatolii Huseynaliev, a resident of Agronomichne village was killed in Luhansk oblast. The funeral service was held on February 7.

In September 2023, Ihor Sytnyk, a resident of Petrashivka village was injured. Doctors fought for the defender’s life, but on February 6, his heart stopped in a Vinnytsia hospital. He was a driver-electrician of the staff car department of the communications company of the main command post.

On December 7, 2023, Mykola Plakhotniuk was killed in Donetsk region, on February, 5, 2024, a notification was received about the DNA identification of the deceased’s body.

In Zaporizhzhia, on January 5, Oleksandr Pasichniuk, a resident of Adamivka village in Pohrebyshcha community, was killed due to an unexploded device dropped from a UAV. The defender was 52 years old.

In Kharkiv region, on January 30, Vadym Romanov, a resident of Lityn community, was killed a result of an enemy drone strike. The funeral service took place on February 5.

On February 1, Volodymyr Anatoliyovych Trushakov, a resident of Orativ village was killed in Kharkiv oblast, was killed in an enemy mortar attack. 

In Zaporizhzhia, on February 2, Oleksandr Dramaretskyi, a citizen of Babyn Illinetskyi was killed.

On February 2, Dmytro Pustovit , a resident of Kopystyryn village, Sharhorod community, was killed in Donetsk oblast. The soldier served as a driver-radiotelephone operator of the platoon company’s rifle division

On February 2, Vitalii Obukhovskyi, a resident of Sloboda-Sharhorodska village, Sharhorod community was killed in Donetsk oblast. A rifleman and medic of a mechanized battalion company’s platoon, the soldier joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in January 2023.

On February 2, Stanislav Martsenyuk, a resident of Vinnytsia was killed in Kherson oblast. From the first days of the full-scale war, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The defender was 53 years old. He was a captain. The funeral took place on February 6.

On February 4, Andrii Tymoshenko, a citizen of Kherson, was killed in Donetsk oblast. Due to the full-scale invasion, Tymoshenko’s family was forced to flee their home in Kherson. The young couple with their son in their arms found shelter in Zabolotne village, Kryzhopil community. The older soldier served as a gunner of a mechanized platoon company’s unit

On February 4, Mykhailo Strapak, a resident of Nove Misto village, Tyvriv community, was killed in Donetsk oblast.

Artem Beril, a resident of Lypivka village, Tomashpil community, was killed in action. The defender was 23 years old.

Kirovohrad oblast

According to the RMA at night a drone was shot down over Kirovohrad region during an alert. There were no casualties or damage.

Poltava oblast

Filip Pronin, Head of the RMA, reported that the sound of an explosion was heard in Myrhorod community. The enemy attacked Poltava oblast. The alarm lasted over 30 minutes. There were no casualties, injuries or damage as a result of the explosion.

Cherkasy oblast

At night mobile firing groups destroyed 3 enemy Shahed drones in Uman region. There were no casualties or infrastructure damage. Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, reported that another UAV hit an abandoned building.

In the morning the Air Defence was conducted in Cherkasy oblast. There were no consequences.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, the enemy launched 179 attacks on 19 cities and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. 128 artillery strikes targeted areas in Orikhiv, Novodanylivka, Poltavka, Levadne, Bilohiria, Malynivka, Stepnohirsk, Stepove, Kamianske, Mali Shcherbaky, and other frontline settlements. Occupiers carried out an aviation strike on Novodarivka, 55 UAV attacks on Huliaipole, Levadne, Charivne, Novodarivka, Chervone, Novoandriivka, Piatyhatky, and shelled Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, and Novodanylivka with MLRS. A 69-year-old local resident was killed in her own yard as a result of artillery fire in Stepnohirsk.

The Armed Forces repelled four enemy attacks in the area of Robotyne and west of Verbovye in Zaporizhzhia oblast. It was reported by the General Staff.

Over 670 multi-story buildings and more than 880 private houses have been damaged in Zaporizhzhia since the beginning of the full-scale invasion due to the russian aggression. 26 of them were partially or completely destroyed. This information was reported by the Zaporizhzhia City Council.

Viktor Dudukalov, Deputy Head of Berdiansk regional council reported that russians have set up the production of drones for the russian army in the temporarily occupied Berdiansk. They use the facilities of a plant that used to manufacture combine harvesters. According to him, the occupiers currently utilize the capacities of all captured plants for military purposes.

Handmade refractory tiles are being produced In Zaporizhzhia. These tiles are planned to decorate the facade of a building on Sobornyi Avenue, 151, which was damaged by the russian missile strike on October 6, 2022. The five-story building is an architectural monument constructed in 1955. About two thousand such tiles have already been made for restoration works, and the last batch is currently being prepared. The tiles are authentic, made from the same material as the tiles used to adorn the building during its construction in the mid-20th century.

Mykolaiv oblast

Three buildings were completely destroyed as a result of the morning attack on Mykolaiv by a russian X-22 missile. As of 16:20, three private houses are known to be destroyed, and 71 are damaged. Additionally, two non-residential objects, a post office, and a carpentry shop, were damaged. One man, hospitalized due to injuries, died in the hospital. Ten other individuals with minor injuries received medical assistance on the spot. Sixty more residents received psychological support. This information was provided by the Mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych.

The South Operational Command reports that There were two waves of drone attacks and a missile attack involving strategic aviation in the Southern Defense Forces’ responsibility zone. Anti-aircraft defense units successfully shot down seven UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type, including four over Mykolaiv oblast.

Odesa oblast

 The South Operational Command says that during the night and in the morning, the enemy carried out several attacks, combining various methods of impact. There were two waves of drone attacks and a missile attack with the use of strategic aviation in the operational zone of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine. Anti-aircraft defense units shot down one UAV of the Shahed-131/136 type over Odesa oblast.

Kherson oblast

On February 7, russian military forces once again shelled populated areas in Kherson oblast. Three civilians were injured as a result of strikes on the villages of Tokarivka, Molodizhne, and the town of Zelenivka. The victims included two men aged 56 and 62, as well as a 47-year-old woman. All of them have been taken to the hospital, with two men in serious condition and the woman in moderate condition.

Yesterday, the enemy shelled Kherson oblast 37 times, firing 150 projectiles using artillery, mortars, multiple rocket launchers, unmanned aerial vehicles, and aviation. The city of Kherson was targeted with 32 projectiles. One person was killed, and three others sustained injuries due to the russian aggression.

Kherson, Chornobaivka, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Poniativka, Antonivka, Bilozerka, Berehove, Tokarivka, Berslav, Zmiivka, Mykhailivka, and Novovoroncovka were affected by the enemy attacks. 25 objects suffered damage in Kherson region alone, including 15 private houses, 8 vehicles, an industrial facility building, a poultry farm, and a gas pipeline. The police have initiated 22 criminal investigations into war crimes committed by russian forces in Kherson oblast.

The counter-battery fight continues, and attempts to repel enemy assaults on bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River persist in the operational zone of the Southern Defense Forces. Confirmed enemy losses on the left bank amounted to 50 occupiers, 4 cannons, 1 mortar, 1 “Murum” video surveillance system, and 7 units of armoured vehicles. A fuel and lubricants depot was destroyed.

Students are being involved in meetings with so-called “heroes of the Special Operations Forces (SVO)” in the temporarily occupied Henichesk. This is an attempt to teach children to “love” the occupying country, as reported by Zhovta Strichka.

Volunteers and police officers evacuated two more residents from Bersylav region. An elderly woman from Sablukivka and a mobility-impaired man from Kachkarivka will now live in a safer region. Additionally, volunteers from NGOs “Strong because Free” and “Park and Special Friends” evacuated two residents from Chervonyi Maiak and two from Tiahynka.

The State Archive, which suffered due to enemy aggression, continues to operate, preserving documents and historical records. To support the institution, benefactors provided necessary equipment, including air dryers, scanning equipment, and laptops. Plans include providing server equipment, computers, laptops, document copying devices, tools for climate control, shelving, and map drawers. The equipment will be directed not only to Kherson oblast but also to other regions of Ukraine.

Residents of Burhunka and Lvove villages received humanitarian cargo, namely 600 square meters of profiled sheeting, 35 gas stoves, and 35 gas cylinders, provided by the NGO “Park and Special Friends.”

At night and in the morning, Ukraine again experienced a massive rocket attack. There are hits targeting an industrial facility in Drohobych, Lviv oblast. The building was damaged. There was a fire in an area of ​​about 300 square meters, which was extinguished. According to the State Emergency Service, as a result of the fire, a roof on an area of ​​500 square meters and a garbage truck were damaged. There are no injuries or deaths.

The Air Defense Forces shot down a missile in Strii region. There are no casualties or damage.

The RMA held a meeting with Munir Mamedzadeh, Head of the UNICEF office in Ukraine, and Ninke Woppen, Head of the UNICEF regional office in Lviv. Areas of cooperation in 2024 were discussed.

During the Christmas holidays, the Greek-Catholic community visited every house in their Nahachaeva village with carols. Therefore, it was possible to raise UAH 93K to purchase 6 FPV kamikaze drones. They will later be sent to defenders at the front.

Employees of Chervonohrad RMA raised UAH 190K to purchase 10 quadcopters, which will later be sent to defenders in the hottest areas of the front. These drones are capable of carrying ammunition weighing up to 2.5 kg. And also cover a distance of 3 to 8 kilometers.

Zashkov City Agglomeration Department reported that on the facade of the lyceum in the city, commemorative plaques were opened to fallen soldiers Andrii Bespalko and Ihor Rusanovskyi.

The Executive Committee of Lviv City Council approved the installation of 15 memorial tables to defenders of Ukraine. Tables will be installed on 6 facades of educational institutions of the community.

Rivne oblast

During a working trip to the North of the oblast, Oleksandr Koval, Head of Rivne RMA, held a meeting of the Regional Defense Council in Varash, where together with leaders of the security forces, discussed a number of security issues. Emphasis was placed on the protection of the energy infrastructure and the construction of engineering and fortification structures. In addition, they discussed modernization of the centralized notification system.

RMA representatives visited NPP and inspected the fortifications in the North of Rivne oblast. Priority issues are defense capability and security. In Rivne oblast, work continues on the arrangement of shelters and updating the public notification system. In addition, fortification and engineering structures are being built. Special attention is paid to the protection of critical infrastructure objects.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA sent five screens and two EcoFlow charging stations worth UAH 205 550 to the military unit created on the basis of Ternopil community. The equipment was purchased with taxpayers’ funds.

Families of the fallen Heroes of Ukraine from Ternopil oblast will go to the Maria Spiritual Center Zarvanytsia, where a special rest rehabilitation will take place. The trip was organized by the Families of Ternopil Fallen Soldiers public organization with the assistance of Ternopil City Council as part of the Families of Heroes of Ternopil City Community program and jointly with the Marian Spiritual Center Zarvanytsia.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

During the air alert period, the air defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine neutralized 2 enemy air targets in the oblast. According to available information, infrastructure objects and the civilian population were not affected.

The RMA reported that in Khmelnytskyi, there was a false activation of the automatic siren during preventive works. The fault has been fixed.

Chernivtsi oblast

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The visit of Josep Borrell, EU representative for foreign policy and security policy, resulted in Ukraine receiving a demining system from the EU. According to him, Ukraine is not only fighting against the aggressor, but also recovering.

The  largest German arms company – Rheinmetall – announced plans to supply ammunition and equipment to Ukraine. They intend to supply medium and large calibre ammunition during 2024/25. During 2023, the concern delivered over 100 Marder BMPs to Ukraine. At the second stage, it is also planned to produce armoured vehicles in Ukraine, namely Fuchs/Fox armoured transport vehicles, Lynx infantry fighting vehicles, and Panther main battle tanks.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Joao Gomes Cravinho, Portuguese Foreign Affairs Minister, and Joao Costa, Portuguese Education Minister. They discussed further defense cooperation between the countries, in particular in the context of Portugal joining the aviation coalition, and the issue of the participation of the Portuguese Republic in the Global Peace Summit.
