The enemy continues to violate the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, launches strikes, and shells both military and civilian targets. As weather conditions improved, the enemy intensified the use of tactical aviation and UAV. They continue to conduct active assault operations with the support of armored vehicles. The enemy increased the number of air strikes and artillery shelling.

There were 60 combat engagements. They launched 1 missile and 33 air strikes, 23 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. The russian terrorist attacks have wounded civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The operational situation in the east and the south of Ukraine remains difficult.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes and signs of formation of an offensive group. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The invaders launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Kostobobriv, Chernihiv oblast. Around 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Kliusy, Karpovychi, Leonivka, Chernihiv oblast, Volfyne, Basivka, Zapsillia, Sumy oblast, Udy, Veterynarne, Vovchansk, Mala Vovcha, Zemlyanky, Topoli, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 8 attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka, Kharkiv oblast. In that area, the enemy used air support in attempts to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops. The invaders fired from artillery and mortar at around 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Lyman, they conducted no offensives. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at over 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast, Torske, Serebrianka, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Rozdolivka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 8 attacks.near Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klischiivka and Andriivka, Donetsk oblast. The enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Katerynivka and Toretsk, Donetsk oblast. Around 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Vasyukivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klischiivka, Andriivka, New York, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 17 enemy attacks east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, and 16 more attacks in the vicinity of Pervomaiske and Nevelske, Donetsk oblast. The invaders launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Lastochkyne settlement, Donetsk oblast. The occupiers fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Keramik, Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Lastochkyne, Yasnobrodivka, Netailove, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Mariinka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the vicinity of Mariinka and Pobieda, Donetsk oblast. In that area, the enemy, with air support, launched 4 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders. The occupiers launched air strikes near Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk oblast. The settlements of Oleksandropil, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Pobieda, Kostiantynivka, Katerynivka were under the occupiers’ artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Shakhtarsk, Ukrainian defenders repelled an enemy attack west of Staromaiorske, Donetsk oblast. They fired from artillery and mortar at around 10.settlements, including Vodyane, Vuhledar, Bohoiavlenka, Prechystivka, Prechystivka, Blahodatne, Rivnopil, Donetsk oblast).

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled all attacks west of Verbove and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia oblast. In that area, the enemy made attempts to push back Ukrainian troops from their positions. The invaders launched air strikes in the vicinity of Robotyne and Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia oblast. Around 2 settlements, including Levadne, Huliaipole, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Mali Scherbaky, Kamianske, Zaporizhzhia oblast, were shelled with artillery and mortar. 

Towards Kherson, the enemy fired from artillery at the city of Kherson and the settlements of Lvove, Tyahynka, Ivanivka, Kherson oblast, as well as the city of Ochakiv, Mykolaiv oblast. Also, the invaders launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Krynky, Kherson oblast.

The enemy still intends to push our units from the left bank of the Dnipro and launched 17.failed assaults. They were repelled and the enemy retreated having suffered major losses. The Ukrainian troops are holding the line, continuing to retain their positions.

The Ukrainian Air Forces launched air strikes on 12 buildups of troops, weapons, and military equipment of the adversary. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 3 Su-34 fighter-bombers.

The Ukrainian missile troops hit 4 buildups of troops, weapons, and military equipment, 1 ammunition depot and 2 command posts of the russian invaders.

The bodies of 66 fallen Ukrainian servicemen were returned. The bodies were handed over in cooperation with the Joint Center of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Sumy region, the DPSU, and other representatives of the country’s security and defense structures.

Another child was returned back to Ukraine. This was reported in the Ombudsman’s office. The child’s mother could not pick up the boy on her own because she serves in the Armed Forces.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that more than 20 settlements of Kharkiv oblast were under enemy artillery and mortar attacks, including: Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove of Kupiansk region, Vesele of Kharkiv region and Hatyshche of Chuhuiv region.

Synkivka and Petropavlivka of Kupiansk region were hit by air strikes.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 19 enemy attacks near Synkivka, Kupiansk region.

The invaders attacked Kurylivka village, Kupiansk region, at 12 am. A private building was damaged. There was no information about casualties.

Pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined more than 2.6 hectares of territory in Kharkiv, Izium, Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk and Chuhuiv regions and defused 35 explosive ordnance. Mine clearance is ongoing.

Kharkiv oblast is taking seriously the information published by the German newspaper Bild about russia’s plans to occupy Kharkiv and a number of territories in the region by the end of 2026.

Donetsk oblast

The press service of Donetsk police reported that russians attacked civilians 25 times during the day. 27 civilian objects were damaged. 8 settlements were under attack: Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Toretsk cities, Shcherbynivka settlement, Berdychi, Bohdanivka, Orlivka and Rivne villages.

Russian troops dropped 4 bombs on Toretsk, hitting the territory of two mines. The strikes killed three people and injured six. An administrative building, a warehouse and cars were damaged.

 

A civilian was injured as a result of hostile shelling in Scherbynivka.

 

The invaders shelled Kurakhove with artillery. 3 private and 2 apartment buildings, cars and garages were damaged.

 

Avdiivka suffered 10 enemy attacks, 6 of them were air strikes. One person was injured as a result of the shelling. 3 apartment buildings and a workshop were destroyed. In addition, after midnight today, the enemy attacked the town and a civilian was injured.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the enemy was able to actively use attack and tactical aircraft as they attacked the territory of Serebrianka forestry and Nevske yesterday. Specifically, a KAB-500 bomb exploded directly in the village and russians hit a household they had previously destroyed. Enemy infantry also received support from the sky. Several times, the invaders tried to improve their positions near Stelmakhivka but they failed to break through the defences of our troops.

 

The so-called “People’s Council of lpr” adopted a law granting the local occupation authorities certain state powers to register citizens, who have left Far North and equivalent areas ,and are entitled to receive housing subsidies. The act has an unlimited period of validity. The settlement of Luhansk oblast by small peoples has gained official status.

 

Not only tens of thousands of people under occupation but also industrial facilities have been without electricity and water for more than a week. In Dovzhansk, five mines have been shut down at once. Of course, the miners were brought to the surface in an emergency but it is impossible to support the enterprises. The occupation authorities saved as much as possible on repair teams.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Kyiv RMA reported that on the night of December 22, the russian military launched a massive attack by Shakhed drones on the territory of the oblast once again. Three private houses were damaged in the oblast as a result of a massive russian attack by drones. A fire broke out in one of the unfinished buildings, which was promptly extinguished. There were no hits to critical infrastructure objects.

Kyiv City Military Administration reported that two people were injured in Kyiv due to a russian drone attack, one of the victims was hospitalized. As a result of falling debris, a fire broke out on the upper floors of a multi-storey residential building in the Solomianskyi district, and a fire broke out in a two-storey private house in the Darnytskyi district.

In Kyiv, almost 3,000 citizens hid in subway stations at night during an attack by russian drones. As reported by the Kyiv Metro, during December, more than 12,600 people used shelters at underground stations at night. It is noted that for a more comfortable stay in the subway during an air alert, you can use folding chairs or mobile benches.

Radosław Sikorski, the new head of the Polish Foreign Ministry in Donald Tusk’s government, paid a visit to Kyiv. Sikorskyi is in the capital of Ukraine at the invitation of Kuleba and is the guest of honor at the meeting on the occasion of the Day of the Diplomatic Service of Ukraine. He plans to hold meetings with top management and the president of Ukraine. He will also present an aid package to Ukraine, as well as his thoughts on cooperation and political support for Kyiv.

Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of Kyiv RMA, said that Kyiv oblast handed over 2 MAN trucks to the military. Zhytomyr oblast

More than 50 mobile anti-aircraft groups are being created in Zhytomyr oblast. The head of Zhytomyr RMA Vitaliy Bunechko said that the communities of the oblast allocated UAH 108 million for the purchase of cars and equipment for them. According to him, 21 vehicles are already on combat duty, another 33 will be delivered to the military unit by the end of this year.

Zhytomyr RMA reported that the work of the group “Transparency and Accountability” continues in the oblast, which works on procurement projects with budget funds in order to prevent unnecessary expenses in the conditions of martial law. According to the results of the group’s activities, it was possible to save almost UAH 32 million.

Zhytomyr RMA rwported that the next batch of SUVs was handed over to the National Guard of Ukraine, special forces of the SSU, scouts and the 115th TD brigade to perform critical tasks at the front and defend the airspace of the oblast. Zhytomyr city council allocated funds for the vehicles, and also handed over 50 FPV drones and Starlink kits complete with EcoFlow charging stations to the defenders.

Sumy oblast

Sumy city council reported that during the past day, the enemy carried out 24 shellings of the border territories and settlements of the oblast, 86 explosions were recorded. On the night and morning of December 22, the russians carried out three shellings of the border areas and settlements of the Sumy oblast, 13 explosions were recorded.

 Sumy RMA reported that the day before, late in the evening, a fire broke out in the village of Krasnopillya in Sumy region due to shelling from the territory of the aggressor country. The fire broke out in the residential sector. Firefighters localized the fire, diverting the danger from the houses of civilians and extinguished the fire. As a result of artillery shelling, the utility building of the service station, a shop and 3 private houses were damaged by fire. The National Police of Sumy oblast reported that 3 private houses were damaged in the village of Slavhorod.

In Trostyanets, they are rebuilding housing that was heavily destroyed due to shelling by russian tanks – 30 families were left homeless in a 5-story building. The builders have already installed the fourth and fifth floor ceilings, balcony slabs, and are restoring the load-bearing brick walls of the fifth floor.

Chernihiv oblast

The spokeswoman of the Chernihiv border detachment, Galina Shekhovtsova reported that russian troops shelled three border communities in Chernihiv oblast during the day on December 21. More than 100 explosions were heard, including 74 of them in Semenivka region, where a residential building caught fire after being hit by an FPV drone.

 At the meeting of the executive committee of the Chernihiv City Council, the distribution of humanitarian aid received from Latvia (“Ziedot.lv” fund) was agreed, with the aim of its further transfer to Chernihiv residents from vulnerable sectors of the population. This humanitarian aid arrived in the city from Latvia along with 10 used buses that Riga donated to Chernihiv to solve public transport issues.

 The head of “Forests of Ukraine” Yury Bolokhovets told that they want to demine almost 30 hectares of Chernihiv forests in 2024. As a result of armed aggression, 709,000 hectares across Ukraine are under mine contamination.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council announced that the enemy attacked Nikopol 6 times a day. They hit the district center, Marhanets and Chervonohryhoriv communities. The occupiers used drones and fired artillery. In Nikopol a sanatorium, a minibus, 7 private houses, farm buildings, power lines, gas furnaces and fences were damaged.

Social Protection Department of the RMA reported that there are 466,000 IDPs in Dnipropetrovsk oblast. 

1,100 dogs and 340 cats that were taken from the frontline territories to Dnipro, were supported by the Zoocontrol municipal enterprise from the beginning of the full-scale war.

Vinnytsia oblast

According to Serhii Morhunov, Vinnytsia Mayor from the city the Main Directorate of Intelligence soldiers received 5 Mavics, 1 unmanned aircraft complex – it includes, in particular, two UAVs, 5 thermal imagers, 10 K chemical heaters, 40 thermoses. Two cars were also sent to the soldiers.

Poltava oblast

Volunteers of the Battalion of the Careless charity organization sent to pyrotechnicians of Poltava region received 5 pairs of mine-resistant shoes. Now they will be used by sappers during demining of de-occupied territories in the east of the country.

Philip Pronin, Head of RMA reported that in Poltava oblast mobilization activities continue as planned. During the month, 300 people were mobilized.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of RMA announced that there are 90 Safety Classes in schools in Cherkasy oblast. Seven more Classes should be operational by the end of the year. Each Class has four safety zones: mine and fire zones, traffic rules and first aid.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, the occupiers launched 181 attacks on 26 populated areas in Zaporizhzhia oblast using all types of weapons. 156 artillery strikes targeted the territories of Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, Bilohiria, Mala Tokmachka, Levadne, Temyrivka, Luhivske, Kamianske, Stepove, Plavni, Piatyhatky, and other towns and villages along the front line. Invaders carried out a missile strike on Zaporizhzhia, 3 MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) attacks on Huliaipole and Orikhiv, 17 UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) attacks on Huliaipole, Novodarivka, Chervone, Charivne, Malynivka, Poltavka, and Robotyne, and aviation bombings on Orikhiv, Preobrazhenkai, Robotyne, and Novoandriivka. There have been 6 reports of residential buildings and infrastructure being destroyed.

Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 7 enemy attacks west of Verbove and south of Robotyne iOn the Zaporizhzhia front. This was reported by the General Staff.

According to the Zaporizhzhia RMA, around 9K people remain in communities along the demarcation line. These individuals are provided with necessary humanitarian aid and solid fuel. The police are conducting informational and explanatory work and urging citizens to move to safer places.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitaliy Kim, Head of the Mykolaiv RMA reported that on the night of December 22, 10 russian “Shahed-131/136” drones were shot down in Mykolaiv oblast. The fragments from these UAVs caused damage to the infrastructure in Kutsurub community. Furthermore, russian forces targeted infrastructure in Voznesensk district using a UAV. No casualties were reported.

The press service of the Main Department of the SES in Mykolaiv oblast reported that on December 22, within Shyroke community of Mykolaiv oblast, a man operating a tractor encountered an unidentified explosive device. The detonation resulted in the driver sustaining injuries caused by the explosion.

Odesa oblast

Natalia Humeniuk, Head of the press center for the Southern Defense Forces, reported that on the night of December 21 to December 22, the Air Defense Forces in Odesa oblast successfully neutralized three russian drones. Unfortunately, debris from one of the downed drones caused damage to a grain storage facility. There were no casualties or injuries.

Furthermore, a project of the Caritas Charitable Foundation called “Support for the protection of persons with disabilities in the de-occupied territories” visited Izmail in Odesa oblast. During a two-day period, the foundation’s team conducted extensive work. Psychologist Lyudmyla Pavlovska led three psychological sessions involving 50 participants. Additionally, case managers and crisis consultants provided consultations and made visits to individuals with limited mobility. This effort was reported in the foundation’s statement.

Kherson oblast

Today, the russian army shelled Ivanivka, causing harm to an elderly couple. Medical professionals are conducting examinations and providing assistance to the victims.

On the morning of December 22, russian military struck Mikhailivka in Nova Oleksandrivka territorial community. As a result of the shelling, a residential building and economic structures were damaged. Also in the morning, around 10:30, the russian army shelled the central part of Kherson. A local resident was injured in the attack.

Yesterday, the enemy conducted 117 shelling attacks, releasing 569 projectiles from mortars, artillery, “Grad” systems, tanks, aviation, and UAVs, including 3 “Shahed.” The city of Kherson was targeted with 65 projectiles. Due to russian aggression, one person was killed, and two others were injured.

Yesterday, during the day, russian military once again attacked Beryslav with drones. In the evening, artillery fire was opened on the city. Tiahynka was shelled with artillery, as well as Sadove, Prydniprovske, Inzhenerne, and Antonivka.

All districts of Kherson were shelled. The homes of local residents and a kindergarten were damaged in the “Korabel” neigborhood. A dormitory, communal institution, shop, warehouse, and cars were damaged in the Central district. russian projectiles damaged a medical facility and the territory of a plant in the Korabelnyi district. Administrative buildings, a kindergarten, apartments in multi-story buildings, and private houses in Dniprovskyi district were also damaged.

The russian army killed a child in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson oblast. According to the head of the RMA, Oleksandr Prokudin, on December 20, russian occupiers, killed an eighth-grade student in front of the family. According to the official, the boy was taking photos, the russian military detained him, brought him home, and shot him. The prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case on the crime.

Yesterday in Kherson, a local resident was injured due to the detonation of an explosive device. The victim attempted to disassemble an unknown explosive object in the yard of a house by himself. Currently, the Kherson resident is in the hospital with explosive injuries and a concussion.

The occupiers are conducting observation, aerial reconnaissance, pressing with artillery shelling, using multiple launch rocket systems, and have intensified the use of various types of drones, including those equipped with fragmentation ammunition in the defense zone of the southern forces. The defense forces repelled 12 enemy attacks.

The southern defense forces continue to carry out fire tasks. Over the past day, 42 occupiers, 4 guns, 1 mortar, 1 boat, 1 FPV drone, and 4 armored vehicles were eliminated. A field supply point and an observation point were destroyed.

It was confirmed and documented that 77 artworks stolen by russians are illegally stored in the occupied Crimea. The Kherson Regional Art Museum named after Oleksii Shovkunenko has identified the fifth painting by Heorhii Kurnakov, which the occupiers displayed in the Central Museum of Taurida.

Concrete mobile shelters have been installed in Kochubeiivka community. Another 3 protective structures have appeared in the largest settlements of the community in places where there is the highest concentration of people. Project and cost estimate documentation is also being developed for the construction of three protective structures in educational institutions of the community.

Representatives of the Polish Foundation “Cluster of Innovations for Society – Good Hands for Ukraine” visited the village of Pravdyne. Volunteers handed over a generator for a school shelter and necessary items for students and staff of Pravdyne Lyceum. 380 residential buildings were damaged and social infrastructure, including a school, kindergarten, village council, house of culture, and paramedic and midwifery point, was destroyed in the village. Now the settlement has begun to rebuild, and people are returning to normal life.

Volyn oblast

Ihor Polishchuk, Lutsk Mayor ,met with relatives of military personnel who gave their lives in the war against the russian invaders. The head of the community expressed his condolences to the family members of the fallen defenders and presented them with state awards for fallen heroes.

Zakarpattia oblast

Viktor Mykyta, Head of tRMA, announced that in 2024, Zakarpattia will send about UAH 3 billion of military income tax to the state budget for defense needs.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Carpathian law enforcement officers sent to the military 8 new unmanned aerial vehicles, including six smaller and two super-powerful large drones, total worth UAH 1 mln thanks to the trade union organization of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast.

Lviv oblast

The last medical evacuation train within the framework of the Medics Without Borders project has arrived in Lviv. During the operation of the project, 1 683 people who suffered as a result of the russian military aggression were transported to Lviv oblast by evacuation trains. This is the 137th medical evacuation since the beginning of the project – March 31, 2022.

Hlynyansk community together with Strong Energy Zakhid LLC sent an ISUZU SUV for the military of a separate Kyiv assault brigade. They also sent the necessary hand tools and a camouflage net woven by a school from Pidhaychyki.

UAH 100K for the Armed Forces of Ukraine were collected by the students of Roman Shukhevych I-III degrees of Krakow Secondary School of Secondary Education during a charity fair. UAH 60K was directed to the purchase of a drone for the 103th separate territorial defense brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The other part of the funds was transferred to the needs of our military. Students of Starosambir general secondary education center I-III degrees #1 named after the Hero of Ukraine Bohdan Solchanyk collected UAH 55K for the defenders.

In Lviv oblast, a command and staff training on actions in case of emergency situations took place. Rescue workers, policemen, representatives of the authorities and civil defense forces took part.

At the station in Slavskyi, a post box has been put into operation, with the help of which you can send Christmas greetings to the defenders of Ukraine. Zalizna Poshta from Ukrposhta and Ukrzaliznytsia will deliver all messages to addressees in Donetsk oblast free of charge.

Ivan Kratasiuk from Sambir received the Golden Cross award from Valerii Zaluzhnyi Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ivan Fedynyiak, soldier from Slavic community, was awarded the For Military Service to Ukraine medal. Yurii Vinnyk, soldier from Murovan community, was posthumously awarded the III degree Order of Courage. The hero was killed in December 2022 in a battle near Bakhmut in Donetsk oblast.

In Khodorov, on the facade of the local school #2, five memorial plaques were installed to the graduates who were killed in the russian-Ukrainian war. The names of fallen soldiers – Andrii and Roman Hanychiv, Vasyl Mymokhod, Mykhailo Zhilyuk and Andrii Gorbaty – were immortalized on them.

Rivne oblast

RMA begins the formation of the Council on volunteer activities. It will become a consultative and advisory body that will help to strengthen civic activism and assistance to soldiers, forced migrants, persons from socially vulnerable categories, etc.

Ternopil oblast

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, presented a certificate for an apartment to Ihor Dykun, Hero of Ukraine from Ternopil oblast. The military man received housing as part of the implementation of the initiative of the Head of State to provide housing for Heroes-defenders. Khmelnytskyi oblast

At night, during the air alarm signal, one of the mobile groups destroyed 1 enemy UAV of the Shahed type in Khmelnytskyi oblast. According to the available information, the objects of critical infrastructure and the civilian population were not affected.

An international conference on Ukrainian-Romanian cross-border cooperation was held in Bukovina. They discussed the development of parameters for future transport initiatives and environmental requirements that will contribute to the implementation of the strategy.

In the Rodyna Chernivtsi regional educational and rehabilitation center the holiday Christmas in Rodyna was held. Also during the holiday, the Good Deeds Studio functioned, where children made gift sets for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

259 new tires were sent to the military from Chernivtsi thanks to the community budget.

The Netherlands allocated €102 mln from the annual package of over €2 billion to Ukraine for the first four months of 2024. This amount is calculated for the first four months of 2024 to help Ukraine winterize and prepare for spring.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, had a phone conversation with Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary General. Proposals to guarantee the safety of civil shipping in the Black Sea were discussed.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Matsuda Kuninori, Japanese Ambassador to Ukraine to personally thank his country for its leadership role during the G7 presidency.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President, held a video conference meeting with ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions. They discussed the state of implementation of agreements on providing Ukraine with security guarantees based on the Joint Declaration of the leaders of the Group of Seven and Ukraine, adopted in Vilnius on July 12.

Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, met with Denise Brown, coordinator of the UN system in Ukraine. The key topic of the meeting was the inclusive recovery of communities and the development of interaction between Ukraine, its regions and communities with the Organization in the coming year.

Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, met with a delegation of French senators headed by Cedric Perrin, head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces of the French Senate. They discussed supporting Ukraine.

The Ukrainian film 20 Days in Mariupol was shortlisted in two Oscar nominations. The film claims to win in the Best Documentary and Best International Film nominations. A Ukrainian film was shortlisted in the second category for the first time in history.

A rally was held in New York to remember the Ukrainian children taken out by russia. The Empire State Building, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Verizon building were illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag. And the Ukrainian children’s choir sang carols in the passage of the Central Railway Station. Behind the choir, an animation was projected onto the Central Railway Station. It visualised the number of missing children. The rally was held under the slogan: “These children will not return home for the holidays.” It was organized by Isaac Liev Schreiber, American actor, director and producer, UNITED24 ambassador. At least 19 546 Ukrainian children between the ages of 6 months and 17 years were abducted from their homes, families and country.
