The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, launches strikes, and shells both military and civilian targets. With the improvement of weather conditions, the enemy has increased the intensity of the use of tactical aviation and FPV quadcopters. The russian army continues to conduct active assault operations with the support of armoured vehicles, increasing the number of airstrikes and artillery shelling.
On December 21, there were 86 combat clashes. The enemy launched 41 airstrikes, 28 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have wounded civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
The operational situation in the east and the south of Ukraine remains difficult.
Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group were noticed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.
Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. Around 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Karpovychi (Chernihiv oblast), Turia, Krasnopillia (Sumy oblast), Vesele, Hatyshche, and Dvorichanske (Kharkiv oblast).
Towards Kupiansk, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka (Kharkiv oblast) and Stelmakhivka (Luhansk oblast). In that area, the enemy used air support, trying to break through the defences of Ukrainian troops. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).
Towards Lyman, the Ukrainian soldiers repelled 3 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Terny (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy, with air support, made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The invaders launched air strikes near Nevske (Luhansk oblast) and Spirne (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10x settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Torske, Serebryanka, Verkhnokamianske, and Spirne (Donetsk oblast).
Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 7 attacks of the russian forces near Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast). Also, the enemy launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Toretsk (Donetsk oblast). Around 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and Kurdiumivka (Donetsk oblast).
Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 20 enemy attacks east of Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, and 12 more attacks in the vicinity of Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast). The occupiers made failed attacks to breach Ukrainian defense in the area using aviation. The occupiers fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Oleksandropil, Sukha Balka, Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Vodyane, and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast).
Towards Marinka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the vicinities of Marinka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the adversary, with air support, launched 11 unsuccessful attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders. The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Novomykhailivka, and Pobieda were under artillery and mortar fire.
Towards Shakhtarske, the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations. The adversary fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Blahodatne, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, and Zolota Nyva (Donetsk oblast).
Towards Zaporizhzhia, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 5 enemy attacks west of Verbove (Zaporizhzhia oblast). In that area, the invaders made attempts to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions. Around 25 settlements, including Robotyne, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, Mali Shcherbaky, and Piatykhatky (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
Towards Kherson, the russian army fired artillery at the city of Kherson and the settlement of Antonivka (Kherson oblast). Also, the invaders launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Krynky (Kherson oblast).
The enemy did not abandon its intention to drive our units from the left bank of the Dnipro, making 11 failed assaults. The attacks were repelled and the enemy retreated having suffered major losses. The Ukrainian troops are holding the line, continuing to retain their positions and firing for effect on the enemy.
The Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 14 buildups of enemy troops, weapons, and military equipment, and 2 strikes on air defense systems.
The Ukrainian rocket troops hit 1 buildup of enemy troops, weapons, and military equipment, 1 artillery system, and 2 ammunition depots of the russian invaders.
Yurii Ihnat, Air Force Spokesman, says that since the start of the full-scale invasion, russia has fired 7,400 missiles at Ukraine. Of this number, approximately 1,600 missiles were shot down.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Volodymyr Fito, Head of the public relations service of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported about 11 russian prisoners and 63 pieces of destroyed equipment in this sector. Thus, 16 enemy attacks were repelled towards Kupiansk and another 13 towards Lyman. The enemy launched 10 airstrikes and used 28 kamikaze drones. Artillery and mortars were used in 410 attacks. 362 russian servicemen were eliminated and 11 more captured. 63 units of russian equipment were destroyed, among them are 9 tanks and 19 armoured vehicles.
In Kharkiv oblast, more than 20 settlements were under enemy artillery and mortar attacks, including: Veterynarne of Kharkiv region, Vovchansk, Budarky of Chuhuiv region, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove of Kupiansk region. Synkivka, Kupiansk region, suffered airstrikes.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 16 enemy attacks near Synkivka, Petropavlivka and Ivanivka of Kupiansk region.
At 5:30 am, the enemy attacked Kupiansk, Kupiansk region. A private building was damaged. There were no casualties.
On December 20, at about 9 am the enemy shelled Otradne village, Kupiansk region. The power line was damaged. There were no casualties.
At 10:37 am, the invaders attacked Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region. There were no casualties.
Pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined more than 4 hectares of territory in Kharkiv, Izium, Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk and Chuhuiv regions and defused 38 explosive ordnance.
The Czech government has allocated USD 10 million to strengthen the healthcare field in Kharkiv oblast. The support project will last for three years.
According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, russians attacked Toretsk underground mines with air bombs and as a result, three civilians were killed and five others injured. Two bombs hit the territory of one of the mines in Toretsk, killing one person and injuring two others. The enterprise is without power. There were 32 miners underground but they were brought to the surface. Two more bombs hit the territory of another mine. Two people were killed and three injured. The strikes damaged administrative buildings and equipment.
The press service of Donetsk police reported that yesterday the occupation forces shelled the region 18 times. Also russians shelled 8 settlements: Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Kurakhove, Toretsk, Pivnichne, Berdychi, Bohdanivka and Druzhba. 48 civilian objects were damaged, including 23 residential buildings, garages, administrative buildings.
Towards Donetsk, there were isolated attacks on Avdiivka. In Marinka community, 1 person was injured in Krasnohorivka, while Novomykhailivka, Kostiantynivka and Katerynivka were shelled. Kurakhove community was under 6 attacks and 2 apartment buildings were damaged in Kurakhove and the industrial area was hit.
Towards Horlivka, the invaders shelled Toretsk with artillery and Uragans and dropped 4 FAB-500 bombs. One person was injured. 17 private buildings, 8 apartment buildings, 4 administrative buildings and 20 garages were damaged. An industrial building was damaged in Chasiv Yar community. Rozdolivka and Vasiukivka of Soledar community were shelled.
Towards Lysychansk, 3 streets of Siversk were shelled. Torske of Lyman community was under attack three times.
According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the invaders again sent large forces to Bilohorivka and surrounding settlements in Donetsk oblast, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 13 attacks. The enemy shelled throughout the day with artillery and mortars of various types. Whenever possible, russians used aviation to strike Serebrianka forest. Nevske also suffered from shelling. Not only the heavy fire from russians but also the weather occasionally prevents the delivery of aid to residents of the frontline areas. Yesterday a weekly bread supply was distributed in Nevske. The bad weather prevented them from reaching other villages of Krasnorichensk community due to washed-out roads.
Miners in the so-called “luhansk people’s republic” may be left without work.
In Rovenky, there is also no electricity or water supply but this is due to the recent bad weather and the inactivity of repair crews. The occupation authorities claim that there are not enough men.
Businessmen do not notice the instructions from Luhansk to reduce prices and no one controls their actions because everyone understands that the statement was made for the presidential elections in russia. Residents, who have the opportunity, are trying to buy goods in russia. Because of this, a huge queue has formed on the border with russia. Many people do not have this opportunity and are forced to pay two or three times the price of food.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
The Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhii Naev said that defensive positions are being set up in the Northern operational zone. Measures are being taken to prepare additional fortifications, battalion defense lines are being created, consisting of company and platoon strongholds.
Kyiv City Military Administration reported that the enemy attacked Kyiv oblast with UAVs at night. All enemy drones were hit by air defense forces on the approach to Kyiv.
Kyiv RMA reported that as a result of the drone debris falling into a civilian warehouse building in one of the regions of Kyiv oblast, the structures collapsed and a fire broke out. As a result of the russian attack, windows of a 4-storey building and two warehouses were broken, and 8 cars damaged. There are no casualties.
Kyiv RMA has launched a chatbot in tg-messenger with complete information about shelters and Invincibility Centres. The bot allows you to choose where to hide or recharge devices, shows all the nearest points arranged by communities or emergency services and responsible businesses, as well as shelters and the distance to them.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported that the investigators of the National Police announced suspicion of the russian soldier who shot with a firearm to a 60-year-old resident of the village of Kozarovichi who was taking care of the household. This happened during the occupation of the region in March 2022. The victim survived thanks to a neighbour who provided him with first aid. It was possible to establish the identity of the occupier who committed the crime during an investigative experiment with the participation of one of the prisoners of war.
Vitaliy Klitschko, Mayor of Kyiv, announced that during the month, the soldiers of the 112th separate TD brigade purchased 1,500 FPV drones and 200 Mavic 3 and Mavic 3T quadcopters with funds allocated by the capital. According to him, the city has allocated UAH 238 million to equip the brigade. In 2023, at the request of the Armed Forces, the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense, Kyiv allocated over UAH 1.5 billion for the purchase of drones.
The Ukrainian Women’s Guard once again invited those who wish to join the warm women’s circle to receive support, recovery and rehabilitation during the war. The event was held on December 21 in the safe cultural and informational space of the Lesya Ukrainka Public Library in Kyiv.
Zhytomyr RMA reported that 341 entrepreneurs of the oblast participated in the state lending program this year. During 2023, state programs to support business and farmers, introduced last year by the Government, continued to operate in the oblast.
On December 19 and 20, an event was held in Zhytomyr to launch the project “Women’s unity – strength for Victory!”. The non-governmental organization Peace in the Palm of your Hand created a platform for meetings where women could discuss issues related to mental health, share their own experiences and provide each other with the necessary support. The project is designed to provide support to female veterans and internally displaced persons.
Zhytomyr City Council informed that there will be no festive New Year’s events in the city this year. But UAH 370K was allocated from the city budget for gifts for orphans, children deprived of parental care and those of the killed soldiers.
Sumy RMA reported that the enemy carried out a mortar shelling of Krasnopillia community; there were 8 explosions.
In the sky over Sumy oblast in the evening of December 20, anti-aircraft defense forces destroyed two enemy Shakhed UAVs.
Sumy regional authorities reported that during the past day, the russians carried out 14 shelling attacks on the border territories and settlements of the oblast. There were 62 explosions – the enemy struck with MLRS, mortars, artillery, self-propelled guns and used an FPV drone (2 explosions). Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Yunakivka, Khotyn, Shalyhine, and Esman communities came under shelling.
The SBGS reported that russian troops struck with infantry fighting vehicles (IFV) and mortars on the border of Chernihiv oblast. Semenivka community was under enemy shelling, suffering 5 hits from a mortar and 150 hits from IFVs. The shelling was carried out near the village of Karpovychi.
The Northern Border Detachment reported that before Christmas, members of the national youth scout organization Plast handed over the Bethlehem Flame of Peace to the soldiers of the 9th detachment named after the Sich Riflemen.
Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council announced that the occupiers shelled Nikopol with artillery. More than half a dozen shells were fired on the city. A private house, an outbuilding, a power line and a gas pipeline were damaged. During the day 9 kamikaze drones were used in the region and 6 artillery shells were fired. In Nikopol, two local women aged 60 and 46 were killed. An 86-year-old man was injured, the rescuers took him out of the targeted house. A church, an enterprise, a parking lot, 5 cars, a high-rise building, 7 private houses, 6 farm buildings were damaged, 2 more were destroyed, power lines and fences damaged. Pokrovsk and Marhanets community were targeted too.
In Vinnytsia, a psychological support department has started working on the basis of the VinSmart youth club center. Six psychologists will provide free services.
According to the AFU, at night Air Defense was on alert in the oblast.
The RMA reported that more than 10K IDPs were registered in Kremenchuk region. The total amount of state aid paid for the residence of IDPs is up to UAH 251 million.
Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA reported that Air Defense Forces were on alert at night, namely in Cherkasy, Zolotonosha and Zvenyhorod regions. According to preliminary information, there are minor consequences due to falling debris: several farm buildings and the roof of a residential building were damaged.
Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, informed that Cherkasy oblast sent cars to the anti-aircraft machine gun battalion. 2 more pickups were sent to the 118th brigade of the Territorial Defense. The units where Cherkasy residents serve were also enhanced by 53 quadcopters, portable radio-electronic means and laptops.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Over the past day, the enemy launched 139 attacks on 20 settlements of Zaporizhzhia oblast. The russian military attacked Shyroke, Malynivka, Luhivske, Novodarivka, Novoandriivka, and Novodanylivka with 21 drones, carried out 12 MLRS attacks on Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, and Preobrazhenka, and thrice bombed Orikhiv with aviation munitions. There were 103 artillery shelling attacks in the territory of Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Levadne, Bilohiria, Poltavka, Malynivka, Luhivske, Piatyhatky, Kamianske, Mali Shcherbaky, and other cities and villages along the front line. There were reports of 7 instances of residential buildings and infrastructure being destroyed
The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 6 enemy attacks west of Verbove and south of Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continue active operations towards Melitopol, causing losses to the occupying forces in personnel and equipment, wearing down the enemy along the entire front line.
It is reported that the occupiers plan to launch sea passenger transportation between Berdiansk, Kerch, the port of Kavkaz, and Prymorsk-Akhtarsk in 2024. In this way, they aim to connect the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhia oblast with the occupied Crimea.
Zaporizhia City Council presented the community budget project for 2024. Initially, UAH 100 million was allocated for the defense program, but considering public opinion and deputies’ input, this figure was increased to UAH 200 million. It was reported by the press service of Zaporizhia City Council.
Medical institutions of Zaporizhia oblast received emergency medical assistance vehicles from the Government of Germany. Modern B class vehicles are equipped with necessary medical equipment. Thanks to their technical characteristics, these vehicles can move even on war-damaged roads.
Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, says that on the night of December 21, 13 russian drones of the Shahed-131/136 type were shot down in Mykolaiv oblast. Infrastructure in Vesniane community was damaged due to the falling debris. The russian military also targeted the city of Ochakiv and the village of Dniprovskе in Kutsurub community. There were no casualties.
the United24 platform reports that American historian Timothy Snyder raised $950K for the Safe Sky project. Together with four professors from leading universities worldwide, he collected funds for 2,500 sensors that will help protect Sumy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson oblasts from drones and missiles. The historian decided not to stop and launched another fundraising campaign for the same amount to protect the sky over Kharkiv, Kirovohrad, Poltava, and Cherkasy oblasts.
It is reported about another significant loss during the russian kamikaze drone attack on Odesa on December 17. As announced by the sports club Tairove, one of the downed drones crashed onto the Chornomorets children’s rowing base, where children were professionally preparing for international rowing competitions. As a result of the explosion, a fire broke out, consuming all the boats, and the hangar was damaged by the explosive wave. Fundraising efforts on social media have been initiated to raise UAH 500K and restore the rowing base.
A patriotic calendar titled Defenders of the South for the year 2024 was printed and presented in Odesa. The calendar features women serving in the Armed Forces and is a charitable project created by the Way Home charitable foundation. The proceeds from the sale of each copy of this calendar will be directed towards the needs of servicewomen.
The occupiers dropped an explosive device on Beryslav from a drone. As a result of the attack, a 57-year-old man was injured.
Yesterday, the enemy carried out 131 shelling attacks, launching 687 projectiles from mortars, artillery, Grad MLRSs, tanks, anti-tank guided missiles, UAVs, and aviation. Beryslav, Olhivka, Lvove, Stanislav, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Antonivka, Bilozirka, Sofiivka, and Berehove were under combined enemy shelling. The enemy attacked these settlements with multiple launch rocket systems, artillery, mortars, tanks, aviation, and UAVs. Olhivka and Lvove were subjected to aerial strikes. The enemy fired 30 shells at the city of Kherson. The regional center was attacked by the russian army around the clock, there were explosions in all districts of Kherson. The city’s infrastructure, private, and multi-apartment buildings were damaged. 4 people were injured. The police recorded 15 war crimes committed by russian occupiers on the right bank of Kherson oblast.
Ukrainian soldiers continue operations towards Kherson to expand the foothold on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson oblast. Despite failures, the enemy did not abandon the intention to dislodge Ukrainian units from occupied positions and made over 30 unsuccessful assault attempts. The enemy received a worthy rebuff and retreated with losses.
A mobile employment center has started operating in Kherson oblast. Now, even residents of the most remote settlements of the region can receive qualified assistance from specialists via a “single window” format. Their first visit was to Posad-Pokrovske.
The residents of Beryslav community received humanitarian aid in the form of film, OSB boards, tarpaulin, planks, mounting foam, mattresses, pillows, blankets, bed linen, towels, solar-powered lanterns, and hygiene kits. The Proliska mission delivered the aid thanks to UNHCR Ukraine – the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine. Also, volunteers delivered 7 tons of assistance to Tiahynka, including medicines, hygiene products, building materials, blankets, solar-powered lamps, and other essential items.
Doctors at Vysoke paramedic and obstetric point received a new ambulance. The vehicle has all the necessary equipment for providing emergency medical assistance.
Bilozerka community received a new excavator-loader. The equipment will be used for construction and emergency repair works on water pipelines, as well as for eliminating the consequences of russian shelling and unloading humanitarian cargo. It was purchased with state subsidies. During the occupation, the municipal transport fleet of Bilozerka community was completely destroyed. Now, it is being replenished with new units. Since January 2023, the community has acquired 4 transport units.
Darivka community received a mobile water purification station. Due to enemy shelling and a terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, water pipelines in the community’s settlements were destroyed, and the water became unfit for consumption. This installation makes 200 liters of water per hour suitable for consumption. The mobile purification system will operate on a schedule in three villages of the community – Darivka, Poniativka, and Tokarivka.
Residents of Vysokopillia community received free legal assistance. Employees of the East SOS Foundation made 16 outreach visits to local residents and displaced persons with limited mobility and those of remote settlements of the community. Among the issues that interested citizens were housing restoration, document renewal, receipt of financial assistance, appointment of benefits, and subsidies.
Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine
The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the police and the Department of Education and Science. Educational institutions in Volyn, which are located in the border areas with belarus, will be guarded by the police.
Lutsk City Council, in partnership with SCF Ukraine, received a large cargo trailer from the city of Schweinfurt (Germany) and handed it over to the fire department to ensure the efficiency of rescuers. Schweinfurt is a partner city of Lutsk and has repeatedly provided significant humanitarian aid.
The RMA held a meeting with leaders and representatives of regional religious organizations. They discussed the situation in denominations, comprehensive cooperation and security issues.
Zakarpattia received humanitarian aid, namely, first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, vests, sleeping mats, water coolers, flashlights, furniture, heaters, etc. from the Save the Children international organization. The aid will be distributed to educational institutions of the oblast for arranging shelters.
The 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade Edelveis and the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi will receive 2 trucks from the Virni CF.
The new anti-aircraft unit, which was created in Lviv oblast, received 15 SUVs from the communities and businesses of Zolochiv and Chervonohrad regions. UAH 18 mln was allocated from the regional budget to equip this transport in accordance with the the military’s requests. Off-road vehicles will serve as part of mobile fire groups to protect the region from enemy Shaheeds.
Vasyl Mymokhod and Roman Hanych, military servicemen from Khodoriv community, were posthumously awarded with the III degree “For Courage” Order. Vasyl Mimokhod was killed on October 27, 2022 in Donetsk oblast. Roman Hanych was killed as a result of artillery shelling near the settlement of Nevske, Luhansk oblast, on December 15, 2022.
On the facade of school #2 in Khodorov, memorial plaques were installed in honour of Andrii Hanych, Roman Hanych, Vasyl Mymokhod, Mykhailo Zhilyuk and Andrii Horbaty. A memorial plaque was also opened at the Navari Lyceum to Mykola Kikha and Pavlov Melianchuk, soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who were killed in the fight.
A meeting with families of the fallen defenders of Ukraine took place in Starychy. They held a memorial service, inspected the Space of the Free project to honour the memory of fallen Heroes, and decorated Christmas trees on the soldiers’ graves. The meeting was organized by the Coordination Center for supporting the civilian population at Lviv RMA.
Rivne received the first 40 sets of Mavic 3 Thermal drones and additional batteries for them. This is only the first part of the procurement, which is carried out from the city budget. The city allocated UAH 20 mln from the budget for the purchase of 80 sets of Mavic 3 Thermal drones and additional batteries for them.
The RMA reported that Rivne National Guard received 50 modern radio stations thanks to the budget of the oblast.
Ternopil City Council sent 11 generators worth UAH 3.4 mln to medical and educational institutions.

At night, during the air alarm signal, one of the mobile groups destroyed 1 enemy UAV of the Shahed type in Khmelnytskyi oblast. There were no reports of casualties or property damage.

Chernivtsi emergency hospital received three new X-ray systems. They were purchased within the framework of the cross-border project aimed at increasing emergency preparedness of medical institutions of Chernivtsi Oblast and Suchavskyi region, which is being implemented jointly with Romanian partners.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, reported that the EU allocated to Ukraine the last tranche of financial aid for this year in the amount of €1.5 billion.
Japan provided Ukraine with about $950 mln of financial support to reimburse the expenses of the state budget of Ukraine for urgent and priority needs, in particular in the field of rehabilitation and social assistance
Germany allocated €88.5 mln to Ukraine for the “winter energy package”. Part of the funds will be used to purchase spare parts and equipment for Ukrainian power plants. Part of it is for green energy transition projects, such as installing solar panels on public buildings.
Finland provides Ukraine with the 21st package of military aid for €106 mln. Traditionally, the Finnish side does not disclose the details of either the contents of the package or the terms of its dispatch to Ukraine “for operational reasons and to ensure the safe delivery of aid.”
The Netherlands allocated a new aid package to Ukraine. The €102 mln package is designed for the first four months of 2024 to help Ukraine get through the winter period and prepare for spring.
Mykhailo Fedorov, the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, announced that Ukraine received 5K Starlinks from Poland to ensure uninterrupted communication in the front-line territories and to critical infrastructure facilities. Today, about 47K Starlinks are operative in Ukraine thanks to the agreements of the Ministry of Digital Affairs with international donors and partners. Poland sent the most terminals — a total of 19,5K.
The US Treasury Department reported that the US imposed sanctions on the SUN Ship Management ship-owning company, registered in the United Arab Emirates, which belongs to the sanctioned russian state fleet operator Sovcomflot. Three underground russian oil traders who allowed moscow to bypass the “price ceiling” from Hong Kong and the UAE also fell under the restrictions.
Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, reported that Ukraine, together with Britain, Denmark, Estonia, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, the USA, France and Sweden created the Tallinn Cyber Security Mechanism. It will help protect Ukrainian cyberspace.
