It has been the 652nd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian federation continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it does not abandon its plans for the complete occupation of Ukraine. The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, conducts strikes, and shells both military and civilian targets.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

On December 7, there were 56 combat clashes.

The enemy launched a total of 3 missile strikes, 39 air strikes, 27 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Russian occupiers launched another attack on Ukraine using 14 UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type, 12 enemy drones were destroyed. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian injuries. Private residential buildings as well as other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there are no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group are noticed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. Around 25 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Kliusy, Mykhalchyna Sloboda (Chernihiv oblast), Fotovyzh, Vovkivka, Volfyne, Yastrubyne, Basivka, Mohrytsya (Sumy oblast), Udy, Kozacha Lopan, Lyptsi, Starytsia, and Okhrimivka (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka (Kharkiv oblast). The adversary launched an airstrike near Petropavlivka (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, Ukrainian defense forces repelled all attacks of the invaders who attempted to force Ukrainian units out of their positions in the vicinity of Terny (Donetsk oblast). Moreover, the invaders launched an airstrike in the area of Serebrianka forestry (Luhansk oblast). The occupiers fired artillery and mortars at around 15 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Torske, Serebrianka, Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, Ukrainian defenders repelled 19 attacks near Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast). Around 10 settlements, including Markove, Chasiv Yar, Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Niu York (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Avdiivka, Ukrainian defenders repelled 15 attacks in the area east of Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Tonenke, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy, with air support, was making unsuccessful attempts to breach Ukrainian defences. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Karlivka, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Marinka axis: Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back the enemy in the vicinities of Marinka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy, with air support, launched 5x attacks on positions of Ukrainian defenders. The settlements of Hostre, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Kostiantynivka (Donetsk oblast) were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Shakhtarske, the enemy conducted no offensives. Around 10 settlements, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Staromaiorske, Urozhaine, and Zelene Pole (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, Ukrainian defense forces repelled 6 enemy attacks west of Verbove and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The adversary launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Kopani (Zaporizhzhia oblast). More than 20 settlements, including Levadne, Malynivka, Verkhnya Tersa, Charivne, Novoandriivka, and Kamianske (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, the enemy fired artillery at the settlements of Shliakhove, Vesele, Mykolaivka, Tiahynka, cities of Kherson and Ochakiv (Mykolaiv oblast).

Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold their ground on the left bank of the Dnipro River (Kherson oblast) and inflict fire on the enemy.

Ukrainian Air Force launched 5 strikes on buildups of troops, weapons and military equipment of the occupiers.

Ukrainian rocket troops hit 1 electronic warfare station of the russian invaders.


The Head of the Presidential Office says that 8 Ukrainian children aged 8 to 18 were returned home. Soon, the children will be reunited with their families. 

Ombudsman of Ukraine Dmytro Lubinets officially confirmed information about the deportation of 19,540 Ukrainian children by russia. The return of children is one of the most urgent tasks. 

Ombudsman of Ukraine Dmytro Lubinets reports that there are 28 K civilian Ukrainians in russian captivity. Ukrainian authorities do not have access to check their condition, nor do they have access to russian prisons.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Five russian tanks and four BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles were destroyed towards Lyman-Kupiansk. According to Volodymyr Fitio, Head of the public relations service of the Land Forces Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, seven enemy attacks were repelled towards Kupiansk and six more towards Lyman over the last day. The enemy conducted 14 airstrikes there. He used both fighter and bomber aircraft and 20 UAVs. Ukrainian military positions were shelled 671 times with mortars and artillery. The defense forces eliminated 324 occupiers and destroyed 37 russian weapons, including five tanks and four BMP-2s. In November, the russians lost 10,980 people in the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia separate military unit.  More than 1,100 pieces of equipment were destroyed, including 128 tanks, 208 armoured combat vehicles and about 260 cannons and mortars of various calibres.

Kharkiv oblast

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration. reported that over 21 settlements of Chuhuiv, Kharkiv, Izium and Kupiansk regions were shelled with artillery and mortars. The enemy attacked Ivanivka, Synkivka and Pishchane of Kupiansk region.

At 9:30 am, there was a shelling of Podoly village, Kupiansk region.

A 58-year-old and a 49-year-old women sustained shrapnel wounds to their lower limbs. The latter refused to be hospitalised. A private building was damaged.

At 12 pm Kupiansk was shelled. The facade of the administrative building was damaged.

At 12:44 pm private buildings burned down in Kozacha Lopan as a result of the shelling by the UAVs. The 3-storey building of the enterprise and the windows of the station were also damaged.

The invaders struck Kurylivka, Kupiansk region, at least 4 times. There were damages to private buildings, no casualties.

Pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined more than 5.4 hectares of territory and defused 63 explosive ordnance over the day.

The Head of the Regional State Administration denied russian propagandists’ statements about the partial capture of Synkivka. In the north of the region, Ukrainian troops have recorded the rotation of russian troops and an increase in drone attacks on Kharkiv oblast. The drone attacks are countered by mobile fire groups, of which there are currently more than a hundred in Kharkiv oblast. Their effectiveness is over 90%.

Communities received 11 new buses thanks to cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and the UN and UNOPS in Ukraine. The new buses will be delivered to the educational institutions of Blyzniuky, Valky, Vysokyi, Vilkhivka, Zachepylivka, Krasnohrad, Lozova, Nova Vodolaha, Savyntsi, Staryi Saltiv and Chkalove communities.

Donetsk oblast

Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman of Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, informed that the russian army shelled Toretsk, injuring a 31-year-old man with shrapnel wounds. He was taken to hospital.

The General Staff said that on December 6, the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 70 russian attacks towards Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Shakhtarsk and Marinka.

The press service of Donetsk police stated that yesterday russian troops attacked civilians 14 times. 10 settlements were under attack: Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Siversk, Chasiv Yar cities, Andriivka, Pivnichne settlements, Bohatyr, Lastochkyne, Nelipivka and Semenivka villages. 10 civilian objects were destroyed: a residential building, a business, hangars, an excavator, a railway track, a power line and a heating network.

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, towards Donetsk, 2 people were injured in Avdiivka as the invaders attacked from aircraft and tanks. In Marinka community, Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka and Katerynivka were shelled. In Ocheretyne community, the outskirts of Soloviove were under attack. In Kurakhove community, Kurakhove, Trudove and Dalnie were hit.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was injured and a building damaged as a result of shelling in Nelipivka of Toretsk community. In Chasiv Yar community, 2 private buildings and 1 apartment building were damaged. In Soledar community, Rozdolivka and Minkivka were shelled. Also russia launched an S-300 missile at Andriivka village, injuring a civilian and damaging the territory of an enterprise in the community.

Towards Lysychansk, Verkhnokamianske and Pereizne of Zvanivka community and Torske, Zarichne and Yampil of Lyman community were shelled.

A woman is being searched for in Novohrodivka after she and her family were trapped under the rubble of an apartment building due to shelling.

The SBU said that three more militants, who stormed the positions of Ukrainian troops near Avdiivka and Bakhmut, were sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison. All of them were captured by Ukrainian soldiers.

Under fire, the White Angels crew delivered medicine and bread to Torske of Lyman community. The fighting is now going on in the immediate vicinity of the village. Just over 150 residents remain here. Several times a week, the White Angel crew arrives in Torske, bringing food, warm blankets, building materials, providing first aid and removing the bodies of the dead.

Ihor Kyiashko, Director of Selydove Central City Hospital, informed that the hospital reopened after russian shelling on 21 November. Dozens of pieces of equipment, including X-ray and ultrasound machines, were destroyed.

At the ReBuild Ukraine forum in Warsaw, Kramatorsk City Administration presented 8 reconstruction projects for Kramatorsk to potential investors. Of these, three houses and one school were destroyed after shelling by russian invaders.

The first public space was opened in Pokrovsk. Classes and workshops will be held there. Teachers and educators will work with children in the community centre. There are plans to hold English lessons.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, there are no functional food points or outpatient clinics in the liberated villages located along the frontline due to the security situation. Therefore, people, who do not want to evacuate, rely only on regularly delivered humanitarian aid. Yesterday a week’s supply of fresh bread was delivered. Every resident of four surrounding villages receives it. Recently generators, medicines and other essential goods have been delivered. In addition, the organisation asks for individual requests like, what to bring next time.

On December 6, the invaders opened fire on both Makiivka and Nevske, knowing that civilians remained there. The enemy also shelled Bilohorivka with mortars, artillery and aircraft. Serebrianka forest was also hit from the sky.

A russian special training centre called Warrior will be opened in Luhansk for teenagers to be taught the basics of shooting, how to work with drones, communications and electronic warfare and be prepared for mobilisation from the age of 16.

There is no transport connection in Novopskov. For several months now, the occupation authorities have been promising to resume it as if they were processing a transport licence. Locals complain that the current situation is worse than in settlements near the contact line.

In November, 6K food parcels were distributed to IDPs of Luhansk oblast in Kreminna hubs. This is help from both the government and charities.

Another 169 laptops will be delivered to school students in Luhansk oblast. This is another batch of laptops from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. They will be provided to 169 children from socially vulnerable families so that they can receive quality education online.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

According to Kyiv RMA, in the village of Buzova, one of the apartment buildings that was heavily damaged at the beginning of the full-scale invasion is being restored at the expense of the Armed Aggression Relief Fund. Another apartment building destroyed has already been restored.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv RMA, reported that on St Nicholas Day in Tarasivka, another 80 IDP families who lost their homes due to the russian aggression received new homes in Hansen’s Town. A total of 147 families, or almost 600 adults and children, will move into the town by the end of December.

Vitalii Klychko, Mayor of Kyiv, reported that Kyiv will pay UAH 30 K to Kyiv residents who will be mobilised into the Armed Forces of Ukraine from December 2023. This is a one-time payment aimed at providing additional financial support to recruits.

The capital handed over 13 apartment contracts to Kyiv defenders. This year, the city has purchased 612 apartments for combatants and their families for a total of over UAH 1 billion. Of these, 215 apartments will be put into operation by the end of the year, and the rest – over the next year.

Kyiv RMA reported that Kyiv Oblast is stepping up its cooperation with the Ile-de-France region to help with the recovery. A delegation from the regional administration is currently on a visit to France to participate in a roundtable discussion on economic cooperation, education, and culture.

Every Thursday, the Ukrainian Women’s Guard invites people to attend a women’s circle for psychological support and rehabilitation. The meetings take place in a safe cultural and informational space of the Lesya Ukrainka Library in Kyiv. This is a time spent in a cosy atmosphere filled with books about the capital and its traditions, friendly communication, support and advice from craftsmen, help and advice for beginners, and cognitive activities.

The Kyiv City Council reported that on the occasion of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Bucha community raised almost UAH 1 million for the military as part of the Give the Armed Forces a Kamikaze Drone charity event. The funds were raised during fairs organised by schoolchildren and kindergarteners with their parents and teachers.

Zhytomyr oblast

Vitalii Bunechko, Head of Zhytomyr RMA, reports that in the north of Zhytomyr Oblast, two more bridges that had been destroyed as a result of hostilities have been restored. Thanks to the rebuilt bridges in the villages of Nova Radcha and Hrezlia, there is now a normal connection between almost ten villages in Narodychi community, some of which have been liberated from the russian invaders. The community leadership plans to restore bus service.

According to Zhytomyr RMA, more than 36 K internally displaced families live in Zhytomyr Oblast, including 352 large families. 

In Zhytomyr, 6 two-day training sessions on the first psychological aid for employees of helping professions has been launched. Sessions on prevention of professional burnout were held online. The training was attended by 90 social work professionals and other social service providers.

Sumy oblast

According to Sumy RMA, russians fired twice at the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. There were 6 explosions from mortars. Krasnopillia (4 explosions) and Seredyna-Buda (2 explosions) communities were shelled.

Also, russians fired 24 times at 9 communities in the oblast. There were 109 explosions. Yunakivka, Khotin, Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske, Nova Sloboda, and Seredyna-Buda communities were shelled.

Sumy RMA reported that on November 6, the russian military attacked the communities using mortars (84 attacks) and artillery (11 attacks). The enemy also shelled Krasnopillia community using an FPV drone (2 explosions) and dropped an explosive device from a UAV (2 explosions). Two civilians were injured as a result of MLRS shelling (10 explosions) in Seredyna-Buda community. 

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the shelling of Seredyna-Buda on December 6 damaged at least 3 apartment buildings, residential properties, an educational institution, a medical facility and an administrative building. A local hotel caught fire as a result of enemy strikes. 

Sumy Oblast State Emergency Service reported that on December 6, in Shostka region, firefighters came under repeated shelling twice while extinguishing a fire caused by a russian strike. The fire was in the residential area. They managed to eliminate the fire and save the homes of civilians.

Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of the RMA, reported that in Sumy oblast, 6 communities are most affected by russian shelling. Over the past three months, Krasnopillia community has been shelled over 490 times, Velyka Pysarivka – 209 times, Bilopillia – 188 times, Seredyna-Buda – 159 times, Khotin – 148 times, and Yunakivka – 115 times.

According to Volodymyr Artiukh, since the beginning of the russian invasion, local residents have been completely evacuated from 18 villages in Sumy Oblast. Control over these settlements has been transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, checkpoints have been set up, and entry and exit is controlled. 15 communities in Sumy Oblast are in the combat zone, which is one third of the Oblast.

Chernihiv oblast

The State Border Guard Service reported that russian troops launched 2 air strikes and 19 mortar attacks on the border of Chernihiv Oblast. Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk communities were under enemy fire.

Viacheslav Chaus, head of the RMA, presented a strategically important document for the oblast – Chernihiv Oblast – From Recovery to Development. It was presented at the All-Ukrainian Training and Practical Conference. The event was organised by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine as part of the EU4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine project.

Viacheslav Chaus, head of the RMA, reported on a meeting with Edvards Ratnieks, the head of the Riga City Council, and Ilgvārs Kļavi, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Ukraine. They discussed new projects in the field of education.

10 Solaris Urbino passenger buses were handed over to Chernihiv by the municipality of Riga (Latvia).

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council reports that during the night the enemy shelled Nikopol with artillery. During the day the occupiers attacked twice and used a kamikaze drone on Nikopol region. They hit the regional center and Chervonohryhorivka community.

1 private house was damaged in Nikopol.

Volunteers from Dnipro have created a drone academy and teach civilians and military to fly FPV drones. Fighter pilots are trained for two weeks. Since September 2023, almost 100 cadets have graduated. Some of them are fighting in Bakhmut, Vuhledar and Kherson directions.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia City Council reports that soldiers treated in medical facilities in Vinnytsia were given goodies and necessary things from the department of social policy, employees and wards of the territorial center.

29 people are being trained as assistants to veterans in Vinnytsia. Training is conducted in the veteran center on the basis of the Vinnytsia National Technical University.

Kirovohrad oblast

Svitlana Lytvynenko, the communicator of the Association for the Promotion of Population Self-Organization in Kirovohrad oblast reported that the Volunteer Craft for Victory exhibition was opened in the Krypnytsia Museum of Local Lore. 12 communities presented their production for the frontline, namely food for long-term storage, military equipment, camouflage suits, and clothes for the military. 

Poltava oblast

In Poltava volunteers of Mahura Poltava collected and handed over festive packages and clothes to defenders who were undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA announced that another tranche of aid for the Armed Forces was sent from Cherkasy. It is known that they sent 3 ambulances, 2 cars, and a truck.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The russian army conducted 112 attacks on the towns and villages of Zaporizhzhia oblast on December 6, shelling Orikhove, Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Charivne, Levadne, Poltavka, Malynivka, Verkhnya Tersa, Stepnohirsk, Kamianske, Lobkove 101 times with artillery.

According to the General Staff, towards Zaporizhzhia, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled six russian army attacks in the areas west of Verbove, Novoprokopivka and Robotyne. 

Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov said that in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast, the invaders continue to conduct forced passportization. New restrictions have been imposed on Ukrainians without Russian passports. Residents of other communities cannot enter occupied Enerhodar without them.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitalii Kim, Head of the Mykolaiv RMA reports that on the night of December 7, three russian Shahed-136/131 drones were intercepted and shot down in Mykolaiv oblast. Additionally, the russian military targeted the waters of the city of Ochakiv and the local community. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties from these attacks.

The Office of the President of Ukraine shared that on December 6, 2023, in commemoration of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy bestowed the honorary title “Mykolaivskyi” upon the 145th Separate Repair and Restoration Regiment of the Logistics Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is based in Mykolaiv. Furthermore, the President extended his congratulations to the servicemen on the occasion of the Armed Forces Day, presenting them with state awards, combat flags, and ribbons of honour. 

Odesa oblast

Last night, russian terrorists launched an attack on Izmail region using attack drones, which lasted for nearly two hours. The air defense forces successfully intercepted most of the Shaheds, but some managed to cause damage. The assault resulted in harm to a warehouse, an elevator, and trucks. A fire erupted at the attack site but was promptly extinguished. Tragically, one of the truck drivers was killed.

Diana Janssé, State Secretary of the Ministry of International Cooperation and Foreign Trade of the Kingdom of Sweden, Martin Oberg, Ambassador of Sweden to Ukraine, and other members of the Swedish delegation, are currently in Odesa on a support visit. Odesa RMA reported that the Swedish delegates received a briefing on the security situation in Odesa oblast, russia’s ongoing terrorist attacks on civilian targets, and the port infrastructure in Odesa oblast. 

Minister Oleh Nemchinov held a meeting with the Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic for Ukraine, Ambassador Spiros Lambridis. The discussions focused on the significance of Odesa in the history of the Hellenic Republic and Greece’s willingness to contribute to the restoration of architectural monuments and the historic center of the city that suffered damage during the russian aggression.

Kherson oblast

The russian army attacked Tiahynka in Kherson region, injuring in four people. One of them sustained severe injuries while the others were in moderate condition.

Roman Mrochko, Head of the Military Administration, reported that in Kherson, the shelling caused damage to the ammonia supply line connecting the compressor and refrigeration units at a food processing plant. 

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA reported that yesterday, there were 88 instances of the russian army firing in Kherson oblast. They targeted residential areas and the pumping station in Beryslav region. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

A council for war veterans and families of deceased soldiers has commenced operations at Kherson RMA. It will be responsible for the social welfare and support of war veterans, defenders of Ukraine, individuals who have provided special services to the Motherland, as well as their families and those of fallen soldiers.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Dmytro Lubinets, Ombudsman of Ukraine visited Volyn. Together with the leaders of the oblast, he discussed key areas of the work of his structure and took part in the session of the Regional Council.

Zakarpattia oblast

From the oblast, over 30 cars with large-caliber machine guns,  autonomous means of communication, monitoring, early detection of targets and other special equipment were sent to the anti-aircraft machine gun battalion, which performs combat missions to protect the airspace in the oblast. The equipment has already been sent to combat missions.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The Ukrainian Red Cross handed over humanitarian aid to children and adults evacuated from Kherson to Ivano-Frankivsk oblast. 87 children and 14 parents are currently living in the Kosiv specialized sanatorium of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. 

Lviv oblast

At the weekend, the 4rth Lviv Art & Wine Festival and Wine Forum were held in Lviv. The event was a charity event – the proceeds from the tickets and some of the winemakers’ profits were directed to the Unbroken rehabilitation center. In total, it was possible to collect UAH 160K.

The Regional MMA mixed martial arts tournament LEMBERG FIGHT CUP took place in Lviv. The event had a charitable purpose, thanks to which it was possible to collect almost UAH 60K to support the military. All proceeds will be directed to the purchase of drones for MMA fighter Roman Hrytsyna from the Omega special unit.

The RMA reports that over UAH 20K was collected for the Armed Forces by the pupils of the People’s House of Myklashiv village during the  action called Mykolai for the Armed Forces.

A safety classroom was opened at Lopaty Lyceum, where students can study the work of rescuers, law enforcement officers and medics. This is the 8th such classroom in Chervonohrad region.

The Mykolai without Borders action was held for the soldiers who are being rehabilitated in Lviv oblast. This is the annual campaign aimed at supporting children from low-income families, but this year the volunteers congratulated Ukrainian defenders on the holiday.

At the Lviv Center for Provision of Services to Combatants, gifts were distributed to the children of Ukrainian defenders, as well as to those of fallen Heroes. About 500 children received packages with goodies.

Rivne oblast

The memorial stele to the Heroes was opened in Rivne oblast. It is symbolic that the stele is made of steel and concrete. After all, this is the strength and power of the Ukrainian Defenders. After the consecration, those present honoured the memory of the fallen Heroes in a moment of silence.

In the Lyceum of Rivne, teachers and law enforcement officers conducted special tactical training. Their task was to train the procedure for early warning and evacuation of participants in the educational process.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA held a meeting with heads of military medical commissions of Ternopil oblast, chief medics of cluster and supercluster hospitals, and heads of territorial centres of recruitment and social support of the oblast. In order to save time and work more transparently, from now on additional military medical commissions of conscripts will operate in local hospitals.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Air defense forces were on alert in Khmelnytskyi district. There are no reports of casualties or infrastructure damage.

Chernivtsi oblast

On December 5, a regional command and staff exercise with the governing bodies and civil defense forces began. In particular, they are attended by representatives of Chernivtsi oblast, the RMA, village, settlement, and city councils as well as territorial specialized services of the oblast’s civil protection. The event aims to enhance the readiness of administrative bodies and civil defense forces in the event of an emergency in Bukovyna.

The US announces another $175 mln military aid package to Ukraine, which includes air defense equipment, additional ammunition for HIMARS systems, artillery ammunition, high-speed anti-radiation missiles and anti-tank missiles, ammunition for small arms, explosive munitions for clearing obstacles, spare parts and auxiliary equipment.

The G7 countries will introduce sanctions on russian diamonds starting January 1, 2024. From March 1, the import of russian diamonds processed in third countries will be limited.

Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister, announces that Japan will provide almost $4,5 billion for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Germany, EIB and Ukraine announce a grant of EUR 20 mln for the Renewable Energy Solution Program. It is designed to increase the energy independence of Ukrainian local communities.

At the summit, the G7 leaders noted that they will continue to support the Ukrainian Peace Formula. “We are determined to support an independent, democratic Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders,” the G7 statement said.

The Pentagon announced cooperation between the defense industrial bases of the United States and Ukraine and joint production. It will affect the sphere of air defense systems, maintenance and technical support and production of critical weapons.

Lloyd Austin, US Defense Minister, held bilateral discussions with Rustem Umierov, Ukrainian Defense Minister, at the Pentagon. Ministers discussed the strategic goals and plan of operations of Ukraine for 2024, the development of joint defense cooperation and the attraction of investments in the military-industrial complex.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President met with Penny Pritzker, US special representative for the economic recovery of Ukraine. They discussed the need to strengthen the air defense system of Ukraine, the vision of economic recovery of Ukraine, etc.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President, had a phone conversation with Peter Szijarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary. They discussed the progress of Ukraine on the path of European integration.
