War in Ukraine today: latest news, 15 April, 2024 (photo)

It has been the 782nd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On 15 April, there were 87 tactical engagements.

The enemy launched 15 missiles and 18 air strikes, and 29 MLRS attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have killed and wounded civilians. Residential apartment blocks and private houses, as well as other infrastructure, got destroyed and damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of an offensive group formed were found.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. The enemy conducts subversion, continues shelling of Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the concentration of mining operations along the state border of Ukraine. They launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Uhroidy, Vozdvyzhenske (Sumy oblast), Lukiantsi, and Volokhivka (Kharkiv oblast). More than 15 settlements, including Leonivka, Kostobobriv, Yanzhulivka (Chernihiv oblast), Svesa, Popivka (Sumy oblast), Udy, Kozacha Lopan, and Strilecha (Kharkiv oblast) came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the russian military conducted no offensives. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 20 settlements, including Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Kyslivka, and Pishchane (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 4 attacks in the vicinity of Terny (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Makiivka, (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Yampolivka, Torske, and Zarichne (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 27 attacks in the vicinities of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Novyi, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy attempted to improve its tactical position. The invaders launched an airstrike in the vicinity of New York (Donetsk oblast). More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Hryhorivka, Kalynivka, and Chasiv Yar (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 attacks in the vicinities of Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Semenivka, Umanske and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy, using air attacks, made attempts to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Novobakhmutivka, Semenivka, and Netailove (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Novopavlivka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to block the enemy near Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Pobjeda, Vodyane and Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast), where the invaders, using air attacks, made 26 attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Paraskoviivka, Kostiantynivka, and Vuhledar (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy launched 5 attacks on positions of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast), north of Pryiutne and southwest of Bilohiria (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The invaders launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Around 20 settlements, including Poltavka, Malynivka, Chervone, Bilohiria, and Shcherbaky (Zaporizhzhia oblast), were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, the enemy have not abandoned its intention to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River. In particular during the day of 15 April, the invaders launched 4 unsuccessful attacks on positions of the Ukrainian troops in the vicinity of Krynky (Kherson oblast). The occupiers fired artillery and mortars at around 20 settlements, including Lvove, Tiahynka, Ivanivka, and Novotyahynka (Kherson oblast).

The Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 2 buildups of enemy troops and 1 command post of the occupiers.

The Ukrainian Rocket Forces hit 1 artillery system, 3 buildups of enemy troops and 4 UAVs control posts.


The russian aggression in Ukraine has killed 537 children. Also, more than 1269 sustained injuries of varying severity. This data is not final. Work is currently underway to determine them in combat zones, on the temporarily occupied and liberated territories. As a result of the enemy shelling of Kharkiv on 14 April, 4 children aged three months to thirteen years were injured. A 13-year-old boy was killed in the attack on Borova village, Izium region, Kharkiv oblast.

Artem Dekhtiarenko, Spokesman of the Security Service of Ukraine, says that from now on, Ukrainian Sea Baby drones can reach anywhere in the Black Sea. In 2024, Ukraine modernised Sea Baby maritime drones. They are now able to deliver almost a ton of explosives over 1,000km.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff said that Lukiantsi and Volokhivka were under russian attack. More than 20 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under mortar and artillery attack.

Serhii Lobodenko, Head of Chuhuiv Regional Military Administration, informed that in the afternoon, Kharkiv oblast was shelled from the territory of belgorod region of the russian federation, four hits were recorded in the suburbs.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, confirmed that at 2pm, russian troops shelled Lukiantsi village of Lyptsi community. They used a guided aerial bomb and hit an educational institution. 4 civilians were injured as a result of russian shelling: two women aged 63 and 66 and two men aged 38 and 65. All victims were hospitalised with explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds.  Two men aged 63 and 65 died on the spot.

The press service of the State Emergency Service in Kharkiv oblast reported that a tractor exploded in a field near Yavirske and the driver was not injured. The type of explosive is being established.

The day before, about 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast suffered enemy artillery and mortar attacks: Lyman, Ivashky, Shestakove and others. Slatyne, Vovchansk, Kupiansk, Podoly, Petropavlivka and Kyslivka were hit by airstrikes.

At 4:20pm, Kruhliakivka village, Kupiansk region, was shelled by the UMPB – D30. 1 residential building and a car were damaged.

At 4:17pm, Slatyne village, Kharkiv region, was shelled. A private enterprise was damaged as a result of the shelling by the KAB bombs. The glazing of 12 windows of an apartment building was also damaged and windows in a private house broken. A 51-year-old woman was injured.

At 3:45pm, Shestakove village, Chuhuiv region, was shelled by a Lancet UAV. Two cars were damaged.

At 2:30pm, Ivashky village, Bohodukhiv region, was shelled and as a result of mortar shelling, 2 private houses and 1 outbuilding were damaged.

In Martove village of Chuhuiv region a 64-year-old man exploded on an unknown explosive device and was hospitalised.

At 10:45am, Mala Vovcha village of Chuhuiv region was under attack. A 57-year-old woman was killed as a result of the dropping of ammunition from a drone.

The enemy did not conduct any offensive towards Kupiansk yesterday.

Combined bomb disposal teams cleared 9.63 hectares of territory and destroyed 258 explosive ordnance.

A Coordination Centre for Demining Activities will be set up in Kharkiv oblast. The Centre will create and update a map of mines in each settlement of the oblast daily.  There will also be a round-the-clock free hotline where you can get up-to-date information from specialists on the mined area, detour routes, etc.

Donetsk oblast

The press service of Donetsk police stated that russia attacked Sloviansk by a Grom-E1 missile. As a result of the shelling, two apartment buildings, an educational institution, a bank building and six civilian cars were damaged.

During the day, the enemy attacked Donetsk oblast 1934 times.  7 settlements were under attack: Pokrovsk, Selydove, Toretsk cities, Ocheretyne, Shcherbynivka settlements, Kotlyne and Predtechyne villages. 63 civilian objects were damaged, including 30 residential buildings, three educational buildings, 6 outbuildings, 14 cars, agricultural machinery.

Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that 4 men were killed as a result of the evening shelling of Siversk. The town was under rocket artillery attack.

The russian airstrike killed a woman and injured two more civilians in Ocheretyne. Three five-storey buildings were damaged.

The invaders launched a Grom-E1 missile at Kotlyne and  damaged 15 private houses.

Also russian troops attacked Selydove by a UMPB D-30 CM controlled air bomb and four S-300 missiles. 5 apartment and 2 private homes, infrastructure of the educational establishment and agrarian enterprise were destroyed.

Three private houses were damaged in Shcherbynivka by an airstrike.

The enemy used Smerch MRLs in the outskirts of Pokrovsk and as a result, an apartment building and a car were damaged.

Yana Stepanenko, who lost both her legs in a rocket attack on Kramatorsk railway station, raised over UAH 560,000 during the Boston Marathon to rehabilitate defender Oleksandr Riasnyi, who lost his leg at the frontline.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the day before, the enemy shelled Nevske by mortars, cannon and rocket artillery. Seven explosions were heard on the outskirts of the village. Fortunately, there were no casualties or new destruction. Makiivka also came under enemy attack. Also russians launched airstrikes on Bilohorivka and Serebrianka forest.

The invaders attacked again towards Bilohorivka. No combat engagements were recorded towards Lyman and Kupiansk.

The invaders are subjecting all men in Sievierodonetsk to a 100% military registration. The procedure is mandatory even for those who are not in danger during this wave of mobilisation. 

In October, the occupation administrations of the cities and regions of the so-called “lpr” reported receiving 1,674 garbage containers, 233 bunkers and 43 pieces of special equipment. Within a few weeks, locals began to complain that they could not see the transferred equipment on the streets of their settlements. Every following month, the situation only got worse. The cities are buried in garbage that is not collected regularly. Even in Luhansk there have been no positive changes.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

On Sunday, the families of soldiers from 35 brigades, who went missing, rallied on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv. The information about soldiers’ whereabouts is absent, and some families have not heard from their loved ones for two years. All of them participated in battles with the Wagner PMC, defending Soledar and Bakhmut.

Makarov is continuing to repair a five-story building on Sadova Street that was damaged in the spring of 2022. Windows and doors were smashed, balconies destroyed, the roof damaged, and one of the entrances ruined. The builders dismantled the damaged entrance and additional structures and began restoration.

The city council reported that a new ground shelter for students of school No. 6 was built in the village of Blystavytsia, Bucha region. The shelter was installed due to Italian charitable foundation funding, made of reinforced concrete and intended to protect children from debris.

Village Head Vadym Tokar said that Makarivka community handed over two more DJI MATRICE 30T quadcopters to the military units where the community’s citizens serve. The funds were allocated from the community budget.

Since the beginning of 2022, almost 19,000 Ukrainian companies have been relocated. According to the USR, Kyiv and Zakarpattia oblasts were the most popular destinations for business relocation. Businesses mostly choose Kyiv oblast to move from big cities with 546 relocation cases. This is almost every second business relocation since the beginning of the full-scale war.

The 14th Kyiv Invincibility Half Marathon was held at VDNKh. It helped to purchase oxygen concentrators for the Hospitallers volunteer battalion. The soldiers who were undergoing rehabilitation after being wounded were among the runners. Andrii Hrechanyi, the rescuer from Poltava, dedicated his race to his colleagues from Kharkiv who died during the repeated russian attacks; he travelled his route in firefighter gear.

Zhytomyr oblast

According to the RMA, Zhytomyr oblast’s medical institutions will receive powerful generators for uninterrupted operation in case of blackouts. The equipment was purchased as part of the joint project of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank “Emergency Response to COVID-19 and Vaccination in Ukraine”.

The creation of the Alley of Heroes in Zhytomyr on Korolyov maidan was agreed on 15 April during a meeting at the city council with the relatives of the fallen defenders.

For more than a year, the Podolianochky volunteer group from Korosten has been delivering energy bars to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Five volunteers make more than 500 energy bars weighing more than 30km every week. Funds and products are provided by residents and neighbours.

Sumy oblast

Uhroidy Head Vitalii Kyrychenko  reported that the russian military hit the village with a guided aerial bomb with 12 apartments and two private houses of civilians being damaged.

The RMA reported that at night and in the morning russians shelled the border areas of Sumy oblast 4 times with a total of 17 explosions recorded (12 mortar attacks, 5 artillery attacks).  Velyka Pysarivka, Shalyhyne and Svesa communities were shelled.

Throughout the day, the russian military shelled Sumy oblast 19 times, with 76 explosions recorded. Khotyn, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman and Seredyna-Buda communities were under attack. The enemy attacked with mortars, artillery, FPV kamikaze drones and launched NAR missiles (6 attacks). One person were killed as a result of the shelling in Krasnopillia community.

The SBGS informed that border guards repelled russian saboteurs’ attack. Several members of a hostile subversive group were detected by border guards performing a combat mission at one of the state border areas. The border guards opened fire and the subversive group retreated after shooting back with small arms.

Over the past week, pyrotechnics of the oblast destroyed 57 pieces of ammunition. Explosives were found in Sumy, Okhtyrka, Konotop and Shostka communities. According to the SES, a total of 290 explosive devices have been found in Sumy oblast since the beginning of the year.

A memorial plaque has been installed in Sumy in honour of Maksym Mikhlin, a lieutenant and officer of the Azov military unit. On 15 April, the second anniversary of Maksym’s death, the plaque was installed on the wall of the Sumy Professional College of the National University of Food Technologies, where he studied. The hero was killed during Mariupol defence. 

Chernihiv oblast

The SBGS informed that over the past day, russian troops shelled Chernihiv oblast with two mortar attacks recorded on the territory of Novhorod-Siverskyi and Semenivka communities.

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the RMA, said that over the past week the enemy fired 61 times at 24 settlements in Chernihiv oblast with a total of 335 explosions recorded. During this period, russian terrorists killed two civilians and wounded one person. Private houses and vehicles were damaged. 

The RMA added that at about 6am in Chernihiv oblast border an explosive device hit a vehicle of the electric power company. Two employees, who managed to get out of the burning car, were hospitalised. The car of the Ripky operational field team was blown up by a mine between the villages of Verbivka and Atkylnia Dobrianka. Chernihivoblenerho reported that the car burnt down as a result of the explosion.

According to Liudmyla Tkachenko, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi community, a Hlukhiv Bakery employee Maksym Androsenko was killed in his car by russians on the border of Chernihiv oblast on 13 April. He was reportedly a resident of Novhorod-Siverskyi and worked as a voluntary courier, risking his life to bring necessary food products to people on the border with russia.

To the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine’s decision, UAH 150m will be allocated for the regional school shelter repair and construction. Reconstruction eligibility criteria include general secondary education institutions with distance and/or blended education and at least 200  students. According to Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the RMA, the list includes 58 schools in Chernihiv oblast, 22 of which need shelters and 36 need shelter renovation.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to updated data, 13 people, including a child, were injured in Dnipro after the attack on 14 April. Psychological assistance was provided to 12 people, including 2 children. 33 private houses, 11 cars, a forklift and a power line were damaged. In the evening, the occupiers launched 3 kamikaze drones on Nikopol, another one on Chervonohryhorivka and at night they shelled Myrove community of Nikopol region by artillery. A private house was damaged. There were no casualties. The explosion occurred in Dnipropetrovsk oblast. The enemy hit an infrastructure facility. The consequences are being clarified.

The occupiers attacked Nikopol region 17 times during the day, launching 12 drones and about 3 dozen artillery shells. They shelled the region’s centre, Marhanets, Myrove and Pokrovsk communities. 4 private houses, an outbuilding and a building that was not in use were damaged. A car burned down, a minibus and a combine harvester were hit. There were no casualties.

Vinnytsia oblast

Students of Lyceum No. 1 sent 5 drones and an electronic warfare device to the front. The funds for this important equipment for the military were raised during a charity event, where the entire educational family raised UAH 154,000.

Vinnytsia oblast sent drones, thermal imagers and a charging station for the 54th Separate Mechanised Brigade. Vinnytsia has been cooperating with the military of this brigade for a long time.

10 Mavic 3Ts and 15 thermal imagers were sent by Vinnytsia volunteers to the 14th Brigade of the Chervona Kalyna National Guard. This aid was immediately sent to the frontline. The delivery of FPV drones is expected in the near future, which will be instantly sent to the defenders.

Kirovohrad oblast

Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, reported that Kirovohrad oblast sent another batch of FPV drones for the 41st Brigade, which is operating towards Donetsk.

The enemy attacked Kirovohrad oblast. In Kropyvnytskyi region, there was no damage to civilian infrastructure. According to Andrii Raikovych, Head of the RMA, relevant services are working.

Poltava oblast

Poltava rescuer ran 21km in gear to honour the memory of his fallen colleagues from Kharkiv. He dedicated his race during Kyiv Half Marathon of Unbreakable to Kharkiv rescuers who were killed by repeated russian shelling. Rescuers Vladyslav Lohinov will forever be 52, Serhii Baidalinov – 32 and Volodymyr Matiushenko – 41. All of them were cynically killed by russia on 4 April.

Philip Pronin, Head of the RMA, reported that the russian military attacked Poltava during the alert. Details are being clarified.

Cherkasy oblast

According to Ihor Taburets, Head of the RMA, Cherkasy oblast will send aid to Kharkiv oblast: generators, charged power banks, eco-flows, batteries and accumulators.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday the occupiers attacked Zaporizhzhia oblast 400 times. Seven settlements were under enemy attack. Also russian forces launched one aviation strike on Mala Tokmachka. 144 UAVs attacked Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka and Novoandriivka. The enemy attacked Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne with 15 MLRS strikes. There were 240 artillery strikes on the territory of Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Levadne, Malynivka and Prymorske. One report of housing destruction was received. One person was killed, and another was injured as a result of russian aggression.

The “South” Operational Command reported that the occupiers carried out 9 assaults towards Orikhiv, 8 of which were in the area of Staromaiorsk and 1 in the area of Robotyne. They were unsuccessful. The occupiers are pressing with artillery shelling, using a large number of various types of attack drones, and continuing aerial reconnaissance.

The Southern defence forces released a video showing the current condition of Robotyne village after numerous russian attacks. Fleeing from the occupiers, people were forced to leave, and there is not a single intact building left in the settlement.

Today, around 11:30am, two loud explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied Berdiansk. Residents shared that the entire city heard them. According to preliminary information, the Defense Forces targeted the enemy’s location near the PIVDENHIDROMASH plant. Currently, the occupiers have blocked the area near the facility along Melitopol highway.

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration confirmed that yesterday 14 April, at 11:56am, the enemy attacked Kutsurub community with Lancet UAD, and at 11:57am by a FPV kamikaze drone. There were no casualties. Also yesterday, 14 April, at 11:02pm and 11:08pm, and today, 15 April, at 12:30am, enemy shelled Kutsurub community. There were no casualties.

As of 15 April, the pyrotechnic units of State Emergency Service of Mykolaiv Garrison seized and destroyed 23,180 munitions through controlled detonation. It is noted that over 50,000 hectares of the region’s territory have been surveyed, of which 6,955 hectares have been cleared of mines. 9,872 pyrotechnicians were involved in demining Mykolaiv oblast. In addition to traditional metal detectors, sappers use mechanised demining vehicles and specially trained dogs.

The first open charity pre-premiere screening of the documentary film “Da Vinci,” dedicated to the memory of Dmytro Kotsiubailo, the commander of the Wolves of Da Vinci battalion, took place in Mykolaiv. The filming of the movie involved comrades, relatives and teachers of the soldier. Nazar Borushok, the film’s executive producer, noted that he personally knew Dmytro Kotsiubailo. The pre-premiere screening of the film managed to raise UAH 13,505 for the Wolves of Da Vinci battalion. The money will be used to purchase a vehicle for evacuating wounded soldiers.

Odesa oblast

The Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that as of 7am on Monday, 15 April, the russian federation deployed one military ship on combat duty in the Black Sea. There are no enemy ships in the Sea of Azov. 

Artsyz Mayor Serhii Parpulanskyi said that the leadership of the city of Artsyz welcomed a truck with humanitarian aid from German charity organisation, Ermstal_hilft. Thanks to the assistance of partners, Artsyz Lyceum No. 5 will be able to update 100 school desks and 30 chairs. Artsyz Hospital received 70 blankets with mattresses for equipping the wards.

Ukrzaliznytsia said that currently, approximately 1,400 wagons are heading to the port of Chornomorsk. Cargo redirection to other ports is taking place since the port’s railway infrastructure was attacked last week. 

Kherson oblast

A child was injured due to the overnight russian strike on the village of Kizomys. A 16-year-old girl suffered shrapnel wounds and blast injuries. In the morning, the victim sought medical help at the hospital, where she received treatment.

Also today, a resident of Veletenske, who was caught in enemy shelling several days ago, visited the hospital. The 60-year-old woman suffered blast injuries and shrapnel wounds to her back.

Yesterday, the enemy shelled Kizomys, Veletenske, Bilozirka, Poniativka, Sadove, Mykilske, Beryslav, Dudchany, Kachkarivka, Odradokamianka, Kozatske and the city of Kherson. Three apartment buildings, 15 private houses, critical infrastructure facilities and gas pipelines were damaged. The gas leak has been stopped and there are no fires or threats. Three people were injured due to russian aggression.

The “South” Operational Command reported that the enemy launched four assaults on our positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson oblast. Having suffered losses, they retreated to their original positions.

A mobile medical brigade conducted consultations in the villages of Tokareve, Bilousove, Davidiv Brid and Kalynivske over the past three days. Nearly 70 residents received medical consultations and underwent electrocardiograms and express tests for sugar, cholesterol and haemoglobin. Doctors also visited immobile individuals at their residences, provided necessary medical assistance, and delivered a wheelchair, walkers and consumables.

Oleksandrivka received the necessary materials for repairing water pipelines damaged by the occupiers. Thanks to the International Solidarity NGO from Dnipro city the local utility enterprise received a water pressure regulator, adapter, valves, pipes and couplings, which will be used for repairing water networks.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The RMA reported that the oblast continues to help Kharkiv, which is under daily rocket fire from the aggressor. 2 truckloads of windows, 2 500 and 800kW high-power generators and stoves were sent there from the oblast thanks to the Swedish Aid Center CF.

Zakarpattia oblast

During the Uzhhorod Sakura Run 2024 charity run, almost UAH 60,000 were raised to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. About 200 participants ran distances of 2 and 4km through the central streets of the city. The event was organised by the Department of Culture, Youth and Sports of Uzhhorod City Council and Uzhhorod Running Club. Alla Chernobuk, Head of the Department for Culture, Youth and Sports of the City Council, reported that the funds will be donated to purchase FPV drones for the 68th Separate Battalion Zakarpattia Sharkani of the 101st brigade of the Territorial Defense Brigade.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that from Prykarpattia, 22 gasoline generators of various capacities worth over UAH 1.8m were sent to Kharkiv. The other day, food products and part of generators were also sent to Kharkiv oblast.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast sent 15 Motorola radio stations worth UAH 495,000 to the National Guard of Ukraine thanks to the regional budget as part of targeted programs to support the military formations of Prykarpattia.

Lviv oblast

Lviv City Council reported that last week, the community allocated UAH 15m in subsidies for Lviv brigades thanks to budget funds within the framework of the Lion’s Revenge initiative. They also bought equipment worth UAH 28m, namely: 17 3T drones, 1515 FPV drones, 3 EW systems and 20 EcoFlow. Separately, the 45th brigade has already received and is starting to use new UAVs, which they purchased with a subsidy from Lviv community.  

The RMA held the Challenges and Opportunities for Business: Readaptation of Veterans in the Workplace seminar, which was attended by representatives of public organisations, educational institutions, financial institutions, state structures, authorities and veterans. They discussed challenges and opportunities for business.

This weekend, one of the world’s most prestigious marathons in Boston welcomed Yana Stepanenko, ambassador of the UNBROKEN Lviv rehabilitation centre. She ran a 5-kilometre distance on prosthetics in order to fulfil the defender’s dream and demonstrate to the whole world the indomitability of the Ukrainian people. In particular, Yana’s goal was to raise funds for a sports prosthesis for Oleksandr Ryasnyi, patient of the NEZLAMNI/ UNBROKEN centre, who lost his leg in the war. The girl prefers that he, like her, also had the opportunity to run.

Rivne oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the Stabilization Support Services CF. They discussed supporting Rivne oblast in the direction of humanitarian aid.

Housing for IDPs is being built in Kostopil community within the framework of the Recovery Army project. The unemployed are involved in socially useful work. The housing fund is planned to be placed in the villages of Yapolot, V. Mydsk, Piskiv and Penkiv. In total, since the beginning of the year, the regional administration of Rivne Regional Employment Center has involved 87 unemployed persons in socially useful works.

Ternopil oblast

In Ternopil oblast, the whole village came together to build a new house for a fellow villager wounded in the war. Stepan Kotsiub was called up for military service on 7 March, 2023. He was a marksman-paramedic, he took the wounded and killed from the battlefield. At the beginning of 2024, he was seriously injured – he lost both legs. After this news, the villagers decided to restore his house, which has been empty since the 90s, Stepan’s father did not have time to finish it. Now the main “rough” work has already been done. They plan to deal with it in a month.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Another meeting of the executive committee was held in Khmelnytskyі. At which UAH 20m was allocated for quadcopters and drones for the military. In addition, material assistance was given to 841 residents in the amount of UAH 6.7m, namely, 110 family members of Heroes in the amount of over UAH 2m, 83 wounded military personnel for rehabilitation in the amount of over UAH 830,000, 528 active military personnel and those demobilised, since 2014, in the amount of over UAH 2,7m.

Chernivtsi oblast

In Chernivtsi, an extended meeting of the Coordination Center for the support of the civilian population at Chernivtsi RMA was held with the participation of Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister for Issues and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, who was on a working visit to Bukovyna. They presented the work of the Coordination Center, discussed the state of preparation of Chernivtsi oblast to accept the evacuated population from the territories where hostilities are taking place, temporary accommodation and construction of new permanent housing for IDP.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The Dutch government has allocated an additional $4.4bn to help Ukraine until 2026 and will allocate funds to strengthen its own defence. Specifically, the country’s Ministry of Defense will receive an additional €500m from 2028, in particular, to strengthen air defence and purchase more ammunition.

Ukraine and Latvia signed a security agreement. Ukraine has already concluded 9 such agreements: with Great Britain, Germany, France, Denmark, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland and Latvia.

Ukraine and Slovakia signed a Memorandum on deepening cooperation in the nuclear industry. The document envisages strengthening cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, the development of small modular reactors, specifically, the exchange of experience in the operation of nuclear installations and fuel diversification

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that preliminary results of the extraordinary meeting of the steering group of the Drone Coalition held the day before: Canada will begin the transfer of 450 SkyRanger multi-role unmanned aerial systems in the summer; Lithuania will allocate 3m for the production of FPV drones for Ukraine; the Netherlands confirmed its intention to contract a batch of Heidrun RQ-35 drones for 200m in cooperation with Denmark and Germany; Germany will sent reconnaissance drones VECTOR 211.

Oleksii Honcharenko, member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, announced that PACE does not recognize putin’s legitimacy. The legal committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe made the relevant decision. It is noted that PACE appeals to member countries of the Council of Europe, the observer countries, i.e. the US and others, the EU to stop all contacts with putin’s government, except for humanitarian ones.

Oleksii Goncharenko, member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, announced that the PACE Legal Committee called the russian oil industry a legitimate target for the Armed Forces.

The Ministry of Defense of Great Britain announced that the first 16 Ukrainian pilots graduated from the British Air Force.

Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs, reported that Ukraine and Poland are considering the scenario of defence of western Ukrainian regions by Polish Patriot systems. He added that negotiations are currently underway regarding this initiative, in particular with NATO representatives.
