It has been the 187th day of Ukraine’s resistance to the russian military invasion. 

Ukraine briefly:

Here is operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6pm:

The russian occupiers continue launching air and missile strikes on civilian targets on the territory of Ukraine.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the situation has not changed significantly. The threat of missile and air strikes from the territory and airspace of the republic of belarus remains.

Towards Siversk, the enemy fired artillery at the areas near Yanzhulivka, Chernihiv Oblast, and Starykove and Vilna Sloboda, Sumy Oblast.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy shelled civilian infrastructure in Bairak,  Chepil, Hussarivka, Kutuzivka, Peremoha, Ruski Tyshky, Slatyne, Svitlychne, Udy, and Zalyman from tanks, combat vehicles, barreled and rocket artillery.

Towards Sloviansk, near Adamivka, Chervone, Dovhenke, Nortsivka, Ridne, Sulyhivka, and Sloviansk, artillery fire was recorded. The invaders tried to gain a foothold near Bohorodychne and Dolyna. They had no success and retreated.

Towards Kramatorsk, there was continuous enemy shelling in the areas of Hryhorivka, Ivano-Dariivka and Tetianivka. The enemy used aircraft to strike near Hryhorivka and Tetianivka. The attempt to advance towards the settlement of Ivano-Dariivka ended in failure for the occupiers. Suffering losses, they retreated.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy shelled military and civilian infrastructure in the settlements of Bakhmut, Kodema, Maiorsk, Toretsk, and Vesela Dolyna. There were also airstrikes launched near Bakhmut and Kodema. The Defense Forces of Ukraine repulsed the enemy’s offensive towards Soledar, Vesela Dolyna, Bakhmut and Kodema.

Towards Avdiivka, the areas of Avdiivka, Nevelske, Novobakhmutivka, Oleksandropol, Opytne, and Pervomaiske were hit. By offensive and assault actions, the enemy tried to advance towards Marinka, Nevelske and Pervomaiske. The invaders were rebuffed and retreated.

Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy fired at the positions of our troops from tanks, barreled artillery and MLRSs near Novosilka, Pavlivka, Shevchenko Volodymyrivka, and Vremivka. Enemy aviation struck near Volodymyrivka. Also, the invaders unsuccessfully tried to attack near Pavlivka.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, there was shelling in the settlements of Berezove, Bilohiria, Huliaipole, Chervone, Kamianske, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Orikhiv, and Stepove. By launching airstrikes, the occupiers tried to inflict losses on our units near Mali Shcherbaky.

Towards the South Buh, the enemy fired from artillery systems and tanks at the settlements of Bereznehuvate, Kniazivka, Kvitneve, Kyselivka, Kobzartsi, Mykolaiv, Myrne, Liubomyrivka, Lupariove, Prybuzhske, Posad-Pokrovske, Tavriiske, Topolyne, Ukrainka, Vysunsk, Velyke Artakove, Yavkine, and  Zoria. Airstrikes were carried out in Andriivka and Kalynivka.

By conducting assault and offensive actions, the enemy tried to gain a foothold near Potiomkyne, yet suffered losses and retreated. 

The enemy continues intensive aerial reconnaissance with unmanned aerial vehicles.

In the Black and Azov Seas, the enemy ships perform tasks to maintain a favorable operational mode and block civilian shipping in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.


 The joint press center of the “South” Security and Defense Forces reports that the Armed Forces of Ukraine began offensive operations in many directions in the south of Ukraine. The Operational Group of Troops “Kakhovka” reported that Ukrainian servicemen broke through the first line of defense of the russian occupation forces in Kherson oblast. The 109th DPR Rifle Regiment withdrew from its occupied positions.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Oleh Nikolenko said that the IAEA had formed a mission for a visit to the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant at the invitation of the Government of Ukraine.  It consists of 14 international experts. The mission is headed by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi. It is expected that they will arrive in Enerhodar from the controlled part of Ukraine in the coming days and focus on three tasks: physical protection, nuclear safety, guarantees of non-proliferation of nuclear materials.


Eastern regions

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the russian federation is conducting intensive aerial reconnaissance in Kharkiv and Sloviansk areas. Russian invaders shelled at least 15 settlements with tanks and artillery.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that the invaders launched two rocket attacks on the downtown Kharkiv. Administrative buildings were partially destroyed. Both rockets launched by the invaders exploded near the premises of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration. A three-storey administrative building nearby was destroyed and parked vehicles damaged. No one was injured.

Kharkiv Mayor, Ihor Terekhov, said that the invaders shelled the Kyiv district early in the morning. According to him, Russia launched cluster shells at the private sector. Residential buildings were damaged. There was no information about casualties. A 77-year-old man was injured.

Hostile shelling of settlements in Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv and Kharkiv districts continued overnight. Houses, outbuildings and garages were damaged and fires broke out.

According to the State Emergency Medical Centre, two people were hospitalized with injuries in Bohodukhiv and Kharkiv districts.

Referring to Eastern Operational-Territorial Command of the National Guard of Ukraine, in the north of Kharkiv oblast, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a russian Msta-S self-propelled artillery unit capable of hitting 29 kilometres. Ammunition and russian military personnel were also eliminated.

Donetsk oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian troops repelled all assaults by russian invaders. The enemy withdrew with losses.

Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, informed that russian troops shelled settlements in Donetsk oblast 16 times. They were shelling with MRLs and artillery. Russians killed 8 civilians – 4 in Bakhmut, 1 in Mykolaivka, 2 in Raihorodok and 1 in Tetianivka. Another 7 people were injured.

Head of the Avdiivka City Military Administration, Vitalii Barabash, said that units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were holding their defence in Pisky settlement. The situation in the settlement remains difficult. The defence line is unchanged. He also noted that Russian troops shelled Avdiivka with artillery and Hrad multiple-launch rocket systems all night long. Four people were injured during hostilities in Avdiivka.

Inspector of the Communication Police Department of Donetsk oblast, Oleh Kyrnytskyi, claimed that as a result of the russian strike on the Bakhmut bus stop, four people were killed.

The invaders are shelling Sloviansk again. Apartment buildings and private houses were damaged.

Mariupol Mayor’s Councillor, Petro Andriushchenko, reported that in the temporarily occupied Mariupol, an enemy patrol was eliminated thanks to the resistance action – one terrorist was killed and another lost a leg. According to the City Council, a Ukrainian flag was raised on the roof of a house. The other flag was raised between schools No. 63 and No. 64, it was later removed by the invaders.

Luhansk oblast

 Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, informed that despite all the invader’s attempts to break the defence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the front line in Luhansk oblast is holding on. According to him, many people in the occupied territories of Luhansk oblast are waiting for de-occupation.

According to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, 70 cars are waiting in line to unload grain in Starobilsk and Svatove. The invaders set up so-called zones of simplified customs control in these cities. The grain from there is unloaded into wagons and taken out to Russia.

Ksenia Kolomiitseva, a student of Rubizne Youth Sports School No. 1, who is considered one of the best karateka in Ukraine, won a silver medal in the national championship in World Karate Federation. More than 400 athletes from different parts of the country took part in the competition.

Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, reported that in the occupied Svatove, a “staging post” of the rashists was destroyed, with people, equipment and ammunition there. According to him, explosions went on there for several hours in a row.

Northern regions

Kyiv oblast

The SSU has identified another russian war criminal. A team commander of Akhmat special forces unit, Police Major Musayev Iznaur Ibrahimovych together with his subordinates, brutally murdered five unarmed civilians in Bucha. He faces up to 15- year imprisonment or life sentence.

A kitchen factory project was introduced in Bucha as part of the school food reform. The first lady, Olena Zelenska, and the project benefactor, Howard Buffett, who previously expressed a desire to help with restoration of the de-occupied areas took part in the event. One such kitchen factory will be able to provide meals for the town itself and several neighbouring communities.

On August 29, the soldiers who gave their lives for Ukraine were commemorated in Kyiv. The date relates to the Ilovaisk tragedy that happened in 2014. During the day, relatives and friends of the fallen soldiers, as well as other grateful citizens brought flowers and lit candles at the monument dedicated to the heroes who defended the country from 2014 to 2020.

On the threshold of the new school year, Kyiv authorities urge schools not to conduct the first-day-of-school ceremony on 1 September for security reasons. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, all schools in the capital have undergone security checks and are ready for classes to start. Only 18 of these schools will conduct lessons remotely as they do not have shelters in the schools directly and in the vicinity.

Zhytomyr oblast

A requiem rally was held on the Remembrance Day of the Defenders of Ukraine in Zhytomyr. Around 500 residents of Zhytomyr came to the Smolianske military cemetery to pay their respects to the fallen soldiers and lay sunflowers at the monuments.

Four mobile teams providing social and psychological assistance to people affected by the russian invasion operate in Zhytomyr oblast. Each team consists of a psychologist, a social worker, a lawyer and a medic.

The charity fair God Save Ukraine. Unite for Ukraine and Believe in AFU was conducted in Poland. During the event, 50 drawings and 100 works by children from Zhytomyr region were sold. Artists from the House of Officers of the Zhitomir Garrison also performed at the fair. A total of 800 zlotys and 1,100 hryvnias were raised and donated to the AFU.

Another charity fair took place in the village of Khodorkiv to raise funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The locals treated guests to delicious homemade dishes and some of them were cooking directly at the fair. Nearly a hundred people from Khodorkiv and nearby villages visited the event.

Sumy oblast

The head of the Sumy RMA reported that in the morning, the russian invaders shelled the outskirts of one of the border villages of the Krasnopillia community with mortars and self-propelled guns. There were a total of 16 “shells”. No casualties or destruction were reported.

A new mural appeared in Okhtyrka. A Ukrainian tractor pulling an enemy tank was depicted on the wall of the farm. The author of the work is a well-known Okhtyrka artist Ihor Shevchenko, who has already created about 100 murals throughout Ukraine.

Chernihiv oblast

The delegation of the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic, headed by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the country, Major General Karel Rzhegky, accompanied by officers of the “North” Operational Command, visited the places where war crimes were committed by the russian occupation army. The Ukrainian and Czech military also discussed issues of providing aid for the Ukrainian army and proposals for improving its defense capabilities.

Environmentalists from the Environment-People-Law ICO recorded the facts of environmental crimes of the russian federation in the burned Epitsentr mall and in the forests of Chernihiv oblast. Photographs were taken at the site of the fire in the shopping center and soil samples were taken at the site of the shell explosion. After conducting an examination of the compounds in the explosives, the evidence will be included in the case of Ukraine against russia.

A mural has appeared in Chernihiv in honor of the fallen “Azov” fighter Vitalii Trukhanov with the call sign “Bitsukha”. The mural on the facade of the lyceum, where the fighter studied, was painted by artist Dmytro Aderiho.

Central regions

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

The enemy attacked Nikopol, Synelnykove and Dnipro districts . They hit Nikopol, Marhanets and Chervonohryhorivka hromada. People are unharmed.  2,600 families are left without electricity in Nikopol.

The toll of victims increased due to the shelling of Nikopol, which occurred the previous evening. Another man was hospitalized in serious condition. This attack claimed the life of one person and injured five.

After the night shelling in Chervonohrygorivka, 15 houses, an enterprise, a church, and some power lines were damaged.

In the morning, the russians hit  at Synelnikove and Dnipro districts with missiles. A fire broke out in the Pokrovsk community due to an explosion. In the Lyubymivka community, a missile hit a summer cottage.

Vinnytsia oblast

In Vinnytsia, backpacks with stationery sets and water bottles are given  to displaced children from Mariupol. This is the initiative of Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boychenko. All the elementary school students receive stationery sets.

Young chess players – 5-year-old Artem Kucher and 9-year-old Rodion Zinkivskyi collected over UAH 7.5 thousand for the defenders. Every weekend for a month, they offered Vinnytsia passers-by to play a game for donation to the Armed Forces. This is reported in the Union of Participants, Veterans, Disabled People of ATO and Combat Operations. Artem, the youngest chess player in Vinnytsia, has the second rank. Rodion is the winner of the regional chess championship.

Kirovohrad oblast

Head of the village Serhii Lavrusenko says the school building in the village of Sofiivka of the Kompaniivska community of Kropyvnytskyi district is hosting 33 people evacuated from Donetsk oblast in August. Before the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, 28 children attended the school. Head of the branch Nataliya Chaban says that as long as internally displaced persons live in the school, the children will study at another school of the community.

Poltava oblast

Poltava volunteers from the Mistohub group purchased the Valkyria drone for the Armed Forces with the funds collected at the fair. It will be managed by a front-line operator of the SSO from Poltava. During the two-day fair, the residents of Poltava donated  UAH 612K. The largest contribution was $500.

Cherkasy oblast

An embroidered shirt decorated with shell fragments was presented at the Cherkasy Art Museum. This mascot was made by the wives of soldiers defending the country from russian aggression.  The initiator of the event, volunteer Yuliia BarankoIn explained that they wanted to remind about those who did not manage to protect themselves from enemy bullets and debris. After the presentation, the shirt is to be auctioned along with other lots, and the proceeds will be used to purchase protective gear for Ukrainian soldiers.

Southern regions

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The occupiers launched a massive shelling in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The police recorded 30 enemy strikes.

The occupiers launched missile attacks on Zaporizhzhia infrastructure facilities. Residential buildings in the summer cottage cooperative in the Shevchenkivskyi district were severely damaged.

The city of Orihiv and nearby villages suffered the greatest damage. 14 streets of the district center came under enemy fire. Local residents reported destruction of 12 houses and two apartments.

As a result of the armed attack, residents of the Polohy district suffered severe injuries and material damage. The residents also suffered shrapnel wounds.

The Director General of the IAEA, Raphael Grossi, says that the mission to the Zaporizhzhia NPP is already on its way.

The Institute for the Study of War notes in its report that russia is using strategies similar to those by Iran in an attempt to manipulate the IAEA mission at the nuclear power plant. Manipulating the nationalities of inspectors and attacking the “fairness” of inspections are tactics Iran has long used to thwart IAEA inspections.

Spokesman of the president of the russian federation, Dmitriy Peskov, said that russia was not considering demilitarization of the zone around the Zaporizhzhya NPP.

On the night of August 29, occupation forces of the russian federation shelled residential quarters of Enerhodar. 10 local residents were injured.

4 explosions rang out in Melitopol. Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov reported this.

Enemy losses are currently being clarified.

The Zaporizhzhia RMA updated the procedure of departure to the temporarily occupied territories. Departure to the temporarily occupied territory is carried out as part of convoys through the checkpoint in the village of Stepnohirsk with a pass issued by the commandant’s office. The movement of goods across the contact line into the temporarily occupied territory is possible only to provide humanitarian aid for the civilian population.

During the day, 1,410 people, including 398 children, were evacuated from the temporarily occupied territory.

Flowers were laid at the graves of heroes at the Kushuhum Cemetery and prayers were held for the fallen heroes on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of Defenders of Ukraine.

Mykolaiv oblast

During the day, Mykolaiv and eight settlements of the region suffered from the aggression by russian troops.

In the afternoon, Mykolaiv was again shelled by russian hostile troops. They hit private houses in the Ingulskyi district. As a result of the shelling, two people were killed, and 24 injured. This is reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv oblast.

At night, the settlements of Kotliareve, Vysunsk and Chervona Dolyna were under enemy fire. It is known about the destruction of residential and agricultural buildings.

Starting from August 29, unemployed people can get humanitarian aid. People who have lost their jobs due to the war and are officially registered at the Mykolaiv Employment Center can receive assistance.

Odesa oblast

The ship group of the enemy fleet continues to keep 2 surface and 1 underwater missile carrier on alert. The total number of Kalibr missiles is up to 20. A large landing ship is also on duty.

There will be no school assemblies in Odesa on September 1. Instead of bouquets, citizens are encouraged to bring aid for the military. It can be brought to the nearest school on September 1, 2 and 5.

A deputy of the Odesa district council was informed of the suspicion of official position abuse. According to the investigation, the official concluded a notoriously unprofitable contract with a commercial enterprise for the supply of goods for the Armed Forces. The suspect bought the necessary goods from the enterprise at prices three times higher than market ones.

Kherson oblast

The enemy tried to carry out assault actions towards Vysokopillia – Potiomkyne twice during the day. The enemy failed and left with losses.

Enemy helicopters and attack aircraft attacked our positions along the contact line three times. No losses.

8 settlements in Kherson oblast came under massive shelling: the villages of Olhyne, Trudoliubivka, Kniazivka, Potiomkyne, Dobrianka, the towns of Vysokopillia, Bila Krynytsia, and Chaplynka. Currently, it is known about damage to private houses and yards, communal facilities. Local residents were injured. Fires broke out due to the shelling.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine broke through the occupiers first line of defense near Kherson. The 109th “DPR” regiment left its positions. Russian paratroopers, who were their support, also fled the battlefield. This was reported the Grouping of Troops “Kakhovka”.

The Beryslav RMA reported that the Armed Forces hit the Beryslav Machine-Building Plant, where the russian troops stationed their equipment, ammunition and manpower. There is currently a big fire there.

Ukrainian aviation launched 8 strikes on strongholds and buildups of enemy manpower, weapons and equipment near Novovoznesenske, Blahodativka, Novopetrovka, Liubomyrivka, Ivanivka, Vavylove.

Missile and artillery units eliminated 41 invaders, 2 unmanned aerial vehicles, a T-72 tank, an Urahan anti-aircraft missile defense system, a Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft gun missile complex, Nona-S self-propelled artillery, an electronic warfare station, 6 units of armored vehicles.

Over the past two days, the police of Kherson oblast opened 18 criminal proceedings under the article “Violation of the Laws and Customs of War” against the military of the russian federation. The police also documented abduction of civilians by the russian military and looting.

The occupying authorities offer parents money for sending their children to “newly established” schools according to the russian program. This was reported by the Kherson Regional Council.

The Investigative Committee of the russian federation confirmed the death of People’s Deputy-collaborator from Kherson oblast Oleksii Kovaliov. He died as a result of a gunshot wound. The attack was committed at his residence on August 28.

On the basis of two tourist companies, volunteers sell photographs of Kherson landscapes. The collected funds are used to help the Armed Forces. The photos are signed by fighters who defend Ukraine.

Western regions

Volyn oblast

On the day of the 8th anniversary of the tragedy near Ilovaisk, there was a nationwide minute of silence and flowers were laid at the Hero of the Heavenly Hundred – Died for the Unity of Ukraine photo booth on Theater Square in Lutsk.

In Lutsk, the Department of Social Services for Family, Children and Youth and the Seventh-day Adventist Church organized a charity event – a quest and interactive games – for children from families in difficult life circumstances and internally displaced families. The children also received school supplies and sweets.

Zakarpattia oblast

The memory of the defenders of Ukraine who died in the struggle for independence was commemorated in Uzhgorod on the Hill of Glory.

In Uzhgorod, over 150 hygiene kits from Stabilization Support Services Foundation with the support of the international organization CARE were distributed to displaced persons.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Mayor of the city of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Marcinkiv announced that in the oblast, during a large-scale air alert, the system of centralized notification of the population failed. The system has already been restored.

A monument to the Hero of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was solemnly opened in the center of the village of Kopanok of the Kalusa community. There used to be a soviet memorial dedicated to those who died in the Second World War at this place.

In Ivano-Frankivsk, a logistics center for displaced people from Luhansk oblast was opened. In the center, displaced people can get humanitarian aid, find out about the housing rental situation and employment vacancies.

Lviv oblast

The Department of Health Protection of the Lviv RMA and Red Cross signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. It regulates the functioning of mobile medical teams on the territory of the oblast.

The Book of Records of Ukraine registered the charity art project Paints of the Flame of Hearts, which united over 200 creative people from 55 countries of the world in support of Ukraine. All funds from the implementation of the project go to help the Ukrainian army, internally displaced persons, children and wounded soldiers.

Free Ukrainian language courses were organized for internally displaced people in the Stryi region.

A charity concert was held in Mykolaiv, the Stryi region, during which about UAH 80K was collected to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They plan to purchase a drone for the 60th separate mechanized brigade and a thermal imager for the 95th separate amphibious assault brigade.

Thanks to the international charitable organization Hope in Action, residents of the Volodymyr community will be able to receive free consultations and diagnostics from doctors for three days, from September 1 to 3.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy posthumously conferred the title of Hero of Ukraine and the award of the Golden Star to Junior Lieutenant Taras Bobanych (Hammer) from Lviv oblast.

The Good Neighbor Day was celebrated in the village of Staivka, which borders the Polish village of Korchmyn. For many years in a row, the villages of Korchmyn (Poland, Lublin Voivodeship) and Staivka (Ukraine, Chervonohrad District) have been holding cross-border meetings of understanding and reconciliation on the territory of the village separated by state borders.

The 6th charitable ethnofest in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took place in the State Historical and Cultural Reserve Nahuievychi.

The RMA reports that students of about 60% of schools in Lviv oblast will study in the face-to-face format. In general, out of 1 118 secondary education institutions in the oblast, 154 do not have shelters either inside or near the building. In these schools, learning will take place exclusively remotely.

Rivne oblast

Head of the Rivne RMA Vitalii Koval announced that on August 28, 4 airstrikes by X-101 type missiles from Tu-22 aircraft were carried out on the city of Sarny. About 30 civilian objects, the premises of the central district hospital and a high-voltage power line were damaged. As a result of the airstrikes, the forest massif caught fire. Firefighters extinguished the fire.

In Rivne, a Ukrainian record was set – 115 guitarists, together with citizens of Rivne and guests of the city, sang the song “Oh, in the meadow is a red viburnum”.

Head of the Rivne RMA Vitalii Koval announced that young volunteers from Ostroh organized a charity fair. Students collected over UAH 12K and transferred it to the needs of the Armed Forces.

Ternopil oblast

Five residents of Ternopil Oblast received state awards on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine. The relevant decree was signed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy the day before.

A rally was held near the monument to Stepan Bandera in Ternopil, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of defenders of Ukraine who died for its independence.

A charity fair was held in the village of Hrabovets of the Velikohaiv community, where UAH 16K and $200 were collected to support the Armed Forces.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The State Emergency Service of Khmelnytskyi reported that in the city for Heads of educational institutions, practical training was conducted on evacuation of students and teachers to shelters.

The archival service reported that FamilySearch International Corporation (USA) will help the State Archive of Khmelnytskyi to digitize 74K documents.

Head of the  Khmelnytskyi RMA Serhii Hamalii announced that over the past week, 125 632K kilograms of humanitarian aid arrived from 6 countries (Greece, Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy and Slovakia).

Seven Heroes of Khmelnytskyi were posthumously awarded with the Order For Courage.

The city council reported that this year, 64 residents of Khmelnytskyi will receive the title of Honorary Citizen posthumously. The highest honor of the community and material aid will be given to the families of the fallen heroes on the day of the city.

Chernivtsi oblast

In Chernivtsi, a shelter was set up for almost 50 migrants from other regions in one of the schools. The Roof for the Displaced People project was initiated by the school director Halyna Furdyha and the organization Sprava Kolping in Ukraine.

The city council reported that over 60 streets, alleys and passages are planned to be renamed in Chernivtsi. This is done for derussification the city and also to honor the memory of outstanding Ukrainians and Heroes who died during the russian-Ukrainian war.

In Chernivtsi, the memory of defenders who died in the struggle for Ukraine’s independence was commemorated.

International support

Director General of the IAEA Grossi said that the support and assistance mission is already on its way to the Zaporizhzhia NPP. It will take place this week and will last 4 days.

The command of the US Air Force reports that the next meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in the Rammstein format will be held on September 8 in Germany. The meeting will be held by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson announces that Sweden will provide Ukraine with 500 million kroner in military aid.

Ukraine received 72 soviet tanks from the Czech Republic.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz announces that in the coming weeks, Germany will send the latest weapons to Ukraine, including radar systems and drones. In addition, Germany can assume a special responsibility in terms of building the potential of Ukraine’s artillery and modern air defence systems.

Norway plans to spend over 200 million dollars to provide Ukraine with gas.

The Netherlands will send three more teams of investigators to Ukraine to assist in the International Criminal Court’s investigation into war crimes during the full-scale russian invasion.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that Europe’s nuclear security can not be weakened by russia’s actions at the ZNPP and Ukraine’s sovereignty must be protected.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called for Ukraine to join the EU and called russia a neo-imperialist autocracy.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Annalena Burbok opposed the launch of the russian gas pipeline “North Stream-2”.

In Spain, the charity art project To the Children of the Heroes of Ukraine is being implemented. Funds collected during charity concerts will be directed to support orphans whose parents died in the war defending Ukraine. The organizers of the project are NGOs Angel of Faith and the association Ukraine unites hearts.

The President of Ukraine awarded the head of the office of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland Michal Dworczyk with the II degree Order of Merit and the American actor and film director Sean Penn with the Order of Merit III degree to .

Karaganda City Hall displayed flags in support of Ukraine. This city is considered the most russian-speaking in Kazakhstan.

Before the Independence Day of Ukraine, an 80-meter shadow of the largest plane in the world – the Ukrainian An-225 – was depicted on a wheat field in Denmark. It was created by Ukrainian sculptor Mykyta Zihura.
