Here is operational information as of 6pm:

Air and missile strikes by the russian occupiers on civilian objects on the territory of Ukraine continue.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there are no signs of forming offensive groups. Military drills of units of the air force and air defense of the armed forces of the republic of belarus are observed. The threat of launching missile and air strikes from the territory and airspace of this country remains.

Towards Siversk, the enemy fired at civilian and military infrastructure in the areas of Pushkari in Chernihiv oblast and Myropillia and Pavlivka in Sumy oblast with barreled artillery.

Towards Kharkiv, russian killers inflicted fire damage from barreled and rocket artillery in the areas of Husarivka, Kharkiv, Korobochkine, Milov Protopopivka, Petrivka, Slatyne and Velyki Prokhody. They launched air strikes near Staryi Saltiv and Yavirske. The enemy continues intensive reconnaissance with UAVs.

The invaders tried to gain a foothold near Pytomnyk. They were rebuffed and retreated. Remote mining of the area of Staryi and Verkhniy Saltiv was carried out.

Towards Sloviansk, near Bohorodychne, Chepil, Dibrovne and Virnopillia, the enemy fired from tanks, barrel and rocket artillery. 

In proximity to Dibrovne, Dolyna, Karnaukhivka and Virnopillya, the enemy attempted to break through the defenses of our troops. The invaders suffered losses and withdrew.

Towards Kramatorsk, enemy shelling was conducted near Berestove, Hryhorivka,  Ivano-Dariivka and Siversk. 

By offensive and assault actions, the invaders tried to advance near Ivano-Dariivka and Vyimka, were rebuffed and had to withdraw.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy fired Berestove, Bilohorivka, Soledar, Svetle, Vershyna,  Yakovlivka and Zalizne from tanks, barreled and rocket artillery. There were airstrikes near Soledar and Yakovlevka. 

The invaders conducted offensive and assault operations in the areas of Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Kodema, Soledar and Zaitseve, but failed.

Towards Avdiivka, the settlements of Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Lastochkyno,  Marinka, Novoukrainka, Opytne, Shevchenko, and Vodiane, were shelled. The enemy launched airstrikes near Marinka, Novoselivka Druha and Nevelske. There was an unsuccessful attempt of the offensive launched in the areas of Maiorsk, Opytne and Pisky. 

Towards Novopavlivka, there was shelling near Novomykhailivka, Pavlivka, Velyka Novoselka and Zolota Nyva. The enemy launched airstrikes near Pavlivka and Novomikhailovka, where the enemy unsuccessfully tried to gain a foothold, suffered losses and retreated.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy fired barreled and rocket artillery and tanks in proximity to Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Mala Novoselka, Poltavka,  Preobrazhenka, Samuilivka, Temyrivka, Tokmachka and Zhaliznychne. Airstrikes were launched near Dorozhnianka, Novosilka and Shcherbaky. Active reconnaissance of the positions of our troops was conducted with UAVs.

Towards the South Buh, the enemy focused on preventing the advance of our troops and replenishing losses. There was continuous shelling from tanks and artillery of various types along the entire contact line. There were airstrikes near Bila Krynytsya, Lozove, Mykolaiv, Nove Zhyttia, and Pervomaiske.

By conducting an assault, the enemy attempted to break through our defense in the area of Kirovo, but suffered losses and retreated. 

In the Black and Azov Seas, the enemy’s ships continue to support the actions of the ground grouping, blocking civilian shipping in the northwestern part of the Black Sea and destroying objects and infrastructure elements in the depths of Ukraine.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres visited Odesa for the first time. He arrived in Odesa together with the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov. Guterres expressed regret that significant capacities of the port of Odessa, unfortunately, are not fully used. According to Kubrakov, there are currently ten loaded vessels in 3 ports of the city. It is expected that another 40 applications for additional vessels will be received in the near future. 

In Lviv, the premises of some dormitories worth more than UAH 450 million were arrested. Their owners were Russians. According to the investigation, during 2014-2016, the company fraudulently misappropriated the funds of dormitory residents. Currently, the issue of transferring premises to the management of ARMA is being resolved.

The ICEYE satellite, which was purchased by the Serhii Prytula charitable foundation due to donations from Ukrainians, will be owned by Ukraine until the end of its functionality in orbit. Thanks to this satellite, we can determine what and when it shoots, as well as in what format and spectrum we receive the data. Also, according to the contract, in case of any problem with the satellite, the seller company undertakes to provide Ukraine with an identical satellite. This was reported by the Prytula Foundation.


Eastern regions

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy shelled our defenders’ positions with tanks, barrel and rocket artillery, and used aircraft and helicopters. In Izium, the invaders tried to advance in the directions Barabashivka-Karnaukhivka, Sulyhivka-Dibrivne, Sulyhivka-Nova Dmytrivka. Everywhere our defenders hold their positions and cause the enemy significant losses. Also, russian troops were repelled and retreated when they attempted to break the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s defence near Pytomnyk and Dibrivne, Dolyna, Karnaukhivka, Virnopillia settlements.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that as of 6 am, at least five rocket attacks were launched on Kyiv, Nemyshlia and Osnova districts.

In the Kyiv district, a missile hit the educational building of the National Technical University Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute. The janitor was killed.

In the Osnova district, a building of a civilian enterprise was destroyed. In the Nemyshlia district, two private houses were hit by a rocket.

The invaders continued shelling villages in the Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv and Kharkiv districts. Houses and outbuildings were damaged, while wheat fields were burning. In the Zolochiv community, the clubhouse, library and fields were on fire. In Pechenihy, the Chuhuiv district, a man was injured.

The first example of a shelter at a public transport stop was installed in Kharkiv. It has 12 seats and around 100 kg of sand to extinguish fires.

Rescuers finished a search operation in a dormitory in the Sloboda district. On the morning of August 18, a russian missile strike killed six people, including a 13-year-old boy.

Donetsk oblast

Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, informed that five people were killed in Donetsk oblast as a result of shelling.

Referring to Head of Avdiivka City Civil-Military Administration, Vitalii Barabash, all medical personnel are being evacuated due to the heating shortage and logistics problems in the city. He added that the situation remained difficult, but Ukrainian troops were slowly taking back control of the territory in Opytne and Pisky.

Russian troops shelled Kramatorsk. Educational buildings were damaged and destroyed. There were no casualties.

Mariupol Mayor’s Councillor, Petro Andriushchenko, said that despite promises to Mariupol residents to rebuild the plant, the invaders are taking away equipment from Illich Iron and Steel Works for scrap metal.

Head of the Sloviansk City Military Administration, Vadym Liakh, reported that about 20K residents remain in the community, over 2K elderly and disabled people left on their own. There are also about 2K children.

Luhansk oblast

 Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhii Haidai, informed that 8 enemy attacks were repelled. Russians involved aviation in about eight settlements. Only last night, they used barrel and rocket artillery 16 times, targeting settlements and positions of our troops.

According to the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the invaders are conducting forced mobilization in the cities occupied in the summer. On the front, they try to break through to Bakhmut. Men also gradually disappeared in Bilovodsk, Lysychansk, Sievierodonetsk and Starobilsk.

Northern regions

Kyiv oblast

A delegation of the Eurocities association, which unites the leaders of about 140 cities from 30 countries, visited Kyiv oblast. 18 mayors of European cities traveled to Borodianka, Irpin, and Bucha, where they saw with their own eyes the aftermath of the war.

An underground server center through which russian hackers were operating has been busted in Kyiv. According to the Security Service of Ukraine, about a hundred users hacked computers, stole passwords, and carried out DDoS-attacks, including those aimed at government websites.

The construction of a medical outpatient clinic has begun in the village of Hurivshchina, Bucha region. The previous building of the medical facility was completely destroyed as a result of enemy shelling. The new outpatient clinic will be able to serve more than 5 thousand patients.

Children’s Services will receive 40 laptops from Hope and Housing for Children charity supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). One of the project’s goals is to support children and their parents and reduce the negative impact of the traumatic events caused by the war. For this purpose, it is planned to create 7 permanent sites, 5 mobile teams, and 4 mobile centers throughout the oblast to organize children’s leisure time with the assistance of qualified specialists.

In Kyiv oblast, 100% of educational institutions have already been inspected and 67% of shelters have been assessed. According to the mayor Vitalii Klytschko, only schools with basic shelters will be opened for the in-person training in Kyiv. The institutions that have no shelters nearby will work remotely.

A Run for Recovery 2022 charity marathon involving Paralympians will be held in Kyiv oblast. Oleh Ivanenko (a wheelchair user) and Vasyl Zakrevskyi (visually impaired) from Brovary will run 23 kilometers through the de-occupied settlements of the Brovary region. Funds collected during the race will be used to rebuild the region and help those affected by the war

Zhytomyr oblast

As a result of russian armed aggression, 2,100 hectares of plantations have been destroyed in the Drevlyansky Nature Reserve, and the damage from environmental pollution has been estimated at more than 14.5 billion hryvnias. According to the Poliskyi District State Environmental Inspectorate, forest fires have caused the release of thousands of tons of pollutants into the air, and there was a possible release of radioactive isotopes accumulated on the territory of the nature reserve as a result of the Chornobyl accident.

A kindergarten in Novohrad-Volynsky has been re-arranged for the temporary accommodation of internally displaced persons. The premises can accommodate 130 adults and 50 children at a time. The kindergarten management will provide food parcels, personal hygiene items, and hot meals for IDPs.

Sumy oblast

The SBGS reported that territories of Krasnopillia, Myropillia, and Bilopillia communities came under enemy fire. The enemy inflicted fire damage using mortars, missiles and barrel artillery.

The police of Sumy oblast continue to document the consequences of enemy shelling. The roof of a private house, a non-residential building and school premises were damaged due the shelling of the villages of Myropillia, Pavlivka and Oboda.

The National Police of Sumy oblast reported that remains of enemy ammunition continue to be found in the oblast. Explosives technicians discovered the main part with a cartridge from the Smerch MLRS and the warhead from an unguided S-8 air missile in the Lebedyn district.

The Sumy RMA reported that a ZIL truck, ignoring the warning signs “beware of mines”, drove to the side of the road and blew up on a mine. As a result, the driver died on the spot. He turned out to be the owner of an agricultural company and a deputy of the village council, who was transporting the harvested crop.

The regional military administration reported that the Regional Development Agency has started work in Sumy oblast. This is an independent structure – a “generator” of projects, which will undertake the search for effective solutions and tools for restoration and development of the oblast.

Creative and culinary workshops, fitness and educational classes are held for children in Sumy as part of the Singing Action for Children project. In general, according to the mentor of the project Yulia Panchenko, four hundred 5-12-year-old children attended the classes. The project is implemented in cooperation with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF Ukraine) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. Anyone can join the classes.

Chernihiv oblast

Russian troops shelled a settlement on the territory of the Semenivka community. According to the SBGS, the shelling was probably launched from a 120 mm mortar, three explosions were recorded. For an hour, the Novgorod-Siverskyi community was bombarded with rocket launchers, 19 explosions were recorded.

On the territory of the Mykhailo-Kotsyubynskyi community, which was under russian occupation, another cache of ammunition and shells was discovered. As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, law enforcement officers seized 240 cartridges and projectiles of various calibers, as well as the uniform of the occupiers with the chevrons of the russian army. Suitable ammunition will be handed over to the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

57% of schoolchildren will study online, and 43% will attend schools where there is a shelter in Chernihiv. 12K of 28K children will go to school, while the rest will study online. The city education department told about this according to the results of a survey of parents of Chernihiv schoolchildren. 25 out of 32 educational institutions in the city were damaged. Almost 13K square meters of roofs of educational institutions were destroyed due to direct hits, and 57K square meters of roofs were damaged as a result of debris hits.

Major repairs of the power grid are underway in the micro-district of the regional center of Bobrovytsia, which suffered significant destruction due to active hostilities. As reported in the Chernihiv MRA, the state allocated UAH 1.65 million from the reserve fund for the restoration of power transmission lines. It is planned to complete the work by mid-September.

Repairs continue at the Chernihiv Central District Hospital, all ten buildings of which were destroyed. Almost UAH 15 million has been allocated to these works from the reserve fund of the state budget. The works are planned to be finished in September.

The development of the project for the regional landscape park “Yalivshchyna” is underway in Chernihiv. By August 25, the project developer will submit a draft of the zoning map scheme to the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of Chernihiv oblast.

In the village of Novoselivka, a temporary modular town was opened for local residents whose homes were destroyed by the occupiers. The russian army destroyed more than 100 houses in the village, leaving more than 300 people homeless. This was announced by the Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Chernyshov. He noted that this was the tenth town opened for people who suffered from russian aggression and lost their homes.

Central regions

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

A man born in 1986 died in the Apostolive community of Kryvyi Rih district as a result of enemy shelling from Hurricanes at night. A private house, a gas pipeline and a power grid were damaged.

The occupiers fired at Velika Kostromka in the Zelenodolsk community, hitting a shop and a cafe. There was a fire there. People are unharmed.

Nikopol came under enemy fire again: the occupiers hit the center of the city with barrel artillery at about 3 a.m. More than one and a half dozen high-rise buildings, a school, a building of the tax service, “Oschadbank”, shops, catering facilities, power grids were damaged. A fire broke out in a 4-storey building as a result of the shelling.

In the Synelnikove district, the occupiers attacked the Mezhivska community at night. There are victims. Debris from the Tornado S surface-to-air missile was found at the site of the attack. A private house and an outbuilding were damaged.

In the morning, the enemy attacked Velykomykhailivka community, shelling the warehouses of the agricultural enterprise. People were not affected.

In the afternoon, the enemy launched another attack on the Nikopol district. Five shells from the russian barrel hit residential quarters of Marganets. Two people were injured. There is destruction of buildings in the city. The power line is out of order. The enemy also struck Myrive community.

Vinnytsia Oblast

18 displaced persons from Donetsk Oblast were evacuated to the Plyskiv psychoneurological boarding school in Vinnytsia region. This was reported by the director of the regional boarding house, Serhii Yakubovskyi. The international mission Doctors without Borders was engaged in the evacuation of people with disabilities and the elderly.

Vinnytsia became the third city in which the photo exhibition The War Is Not Over Yet was opened. 10 stands with photos of journalists who died in the line of duty, were injured, or were captured since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion were set up on European Square. The exhibition was initiated by the Institute of Mass Information with the support of the Vinnytsia Museum.

Kirovohrad Oblast

The “Patriot Print” project is aimed at creating the largest flag with the fingerprints of patriots. It is dedicated to the 31st anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence initiated by representatives of the NGO “Center” from Kropyvnytskyi. All funds collected will be spent on the purchase of copters for our defenders.

Poltava Oblast

An exhibition dedicated to the russian-Ukrainian war was opened in the courtyard of the Vasyl Krychevsky Museum of Local History in Poltava. The exhibition is called Life will defeat death. Among the exhibits are fragments of weapons, Ukrainian military uniforms, equipment, elements of soldiers’ daily life, as well as samples of international humanitarian aid. The exhibition is dedicated to Independence Day.

Cherkasy Oblast

The displaced children will study in educational institutions of Cherkasy Oblast. Head of the local military administration Ihor Taburets reported that more than 3,400 children have been registered by now. Readiness of each classroom is checked by a special commission.

Cherkasy continues to be absolved from the consequences of russian aggression. Today, rescuers conducted one of the most dangerous demining operations – underwater. They discovered a missile fragment in the Dnipro. It was impossible to transport it, so it was destroyed on the spot.

Southern regions

Zaporizhzhia oblast

In the afternoon, a series of explosions rang out in Zaporizhzhia. According to the report of the head of the RMA, Oleksandr Starukh, it was the operation of the air defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The police documented 34 cases of violations of the customs of war in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

The occupiers shelled civilian infrastructure in the areas of Zaporizhzhia, Preobrazhenka, Novomykolaivka, Mala Tokmachka, Orikhiv, and Nesterianka. russian military shelled residential buildings, critical and civilian infrastructure.

A large number of applications about destruction came from the residents of Orikhiv. During the day, the occupiers shelled private houses, high-rise buildings, as well as one of the local preschools. It is known about one injured woman.

Erdogan will discuss the situation around the ZNPP with Putin. The President of Turkey stated this after his visit to Ukraine.

The State Inspectorate for Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine banned the launching of power units No. 1 and No. 2 of the Zaporizhzhia NPP. This was reported in the press service of the regulator.

The civilian population was evacuated from the temporarily occupied territory. A total of 886 people, including 236 children, were evacuated.

9 communities of the region received construction materials for repairing private buildings and civil infrastructure. Humanitarian aid was delivered for the needs of the residents of Zaporizhzhia oblast thanks to the Committee of the Red Cross and the Norwegian Refugee Council. The aid has already been received by representatives of Stepnohirsk, Komyshuvaha, Kushuhum, Tavriisk, Novoaleksandrivka, Hulyaipole, Orikhiv, Preobrazhenka and Ternuvate territorial communities.

The prosecutor of one of the district prosecutor’s offices of Zaporizhzhia oblast was informed of suspicion of treason. According to the investigation, the suspect started working in a managerial position in the occupying “administration” of the russian federation in the temporarily occupied territory of the region.

Mykolaiv oblast

In the middle of the night, the russian invaders shelled Mykolaiv with eight S-300 anti-aircraft missiles. The enemy repeatedly shelled the Black Sea National University named after Petro Mohyla and destroyed the main body of the building with two rockets. According to the rector of the university, the main building is not a subject to reconstruction. The occupiers also targeted residential quarters and industrial infrastructure. Two civilians were injured.

During the day of August 18, the settlement of Halytsynove was under enemy fire. Residential buildings, cars, and administrative buildings were damaged. Two local residents were injured.

Food kits prepared by caring residents of Latvia are received by residents of villages damaged by russian military aggression. In particular, these kits were delivered to the Kalynivka community and the village of Mishkovo-Pohorilove.

Odesa oblast

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres arrived in Odesa on an official visit. He visited the Odesa port, from where grain is exported under the Istanbul Agreement.

As part of the grain agreement, 25 ships with 630K tons of agricultural products left Odesa seaports. Currently, another 10 ships are being prepared for departure in the ports of the region.

The ship group of the enemy fleet in the Black Sea continues to maneuver along the Crimean coast. 2 missile carriers equipped with 16 Kalibr sea-based cruise missiles are on standby.

Autumn sowing has started in Odesa oblast. This was reported in the Odesa RMA. 760K hectares of winter wheat and barley are planned to be sown. 500 hectares of rye  and 100K of winter rapeseed will be sown.

Kherson oblast

During the day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched strikes on buildups of russian troops in Kherson oblast and on the bridge over the Kakhovka Dam.

The units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine went on the offensive twice, during one of the attacks they met with the airborne assault units of the russian troops. During the counter-attack, the enemy was hit by fire, forced to retreat to its original positions with the loss of tanks, armored vehicles and personnel. 2 occupiers were captured.

The enemy tried to carry out an assault attempt in the direction of Oleksandrivka – Stanislav, failed and left with losses.

Ukrainian aviation launched 4 strikes on the buildup of enemy manpower, weapons and equipment in Bashtanka and Beryslav districts.

Missile and artillery units performed more than 200 fire missions. So far, the confirmed losses of the enemy are 73 occupiers, 3 tanks, 4 launchers and 1 radar station for the S-300 air defense system, 5 units of armored and automotive vehicles, and an ammunition depot.

The Kherson regional prosecutor’s office informed a resident of Kakhovka about suspicion of collaborative activity. He voluntarily agreed to take the position of the so-called “head of the Communal Production Department of Kakhovka Vodokanal” of the occupying “authority”.

Western regions

Volyn oblast

71,786 forcibly evacuated people have arrived to Volyn oblast since the beginning of the war.

Representatives of the UN humanitarian hub and charitable foundations met in the Volyn RMA to discuss assistance to internally displaced persons who had found refuge in the region.

UAH 100K will be paid to the families of fallen soldiers of the Novovolynsk community from the regional budget. BUH informs about this.

Children from the village of Nova Lishnia of the Poromiv community sell patriotic bracelets. Young benefactors donate the proceeds to the needs of the army.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA held a working meeting with the Honorary Consul of Ukraine Alex Rovt in Szeged, Hungary. During the meeting, issues of cooperation with US humanitarian funds, support for the economy of Transcarpathia during the war, development of enterprises and current projects that are already being implemented, have been discussed.

Mayor of New York, Eric Adams, considers the issues of internally displaced persons from Ukraine and is interested in Transcarpathia. This was announced by Head of the RMA Viktor Mykyta after a meeting with billionaire Alex Rovt.

Sovyna Hnizdo volunteers, with the support of the American company Just Answer and the Arizae Foundation, distributed 100 children’s hygiene kits for children under 3 years old in Uzhhorod.

Volunteers weave camouflage nets every day in the Uzhgorod Palace of Children and Youth (Padiuni). They have already produced hundreds of such nets and dozens of special chuhaister costumes for the Ukrainian military.

Students of the Orchestral Wind and Percussion Instruments major of the Uzhgorod College of Music named after D. E. Zador won the first place at the two-round international multi-genre arts festival-competition Through Thorns to the Stars.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

A meeting of the regional commission for rehabilitation of persons who suffered from repressions of the communist totalitarian regime of 1917-1991 was held in Ivano-Frankivsk. Based on the results of the case review, a decision was made to submit substantiated proposals to the National Rehabilitation Commission to recognize 11 people as victims of repression and three people as rehabilitated.

A master class was held in the Ivan Franko Regional Universal Scientific Library within the VilnoHub program and the Dream and Act creative project. More than 20 children, who live in the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children, took part in the themed decoration of patriotic gingerbread “Sweet Dreams of a Free Ukraine”.

The exhibition Mariupol. Art against War is taking place in the Kolomyia public library. There are photos of the photo artist Yevhen Sosnovsky in the exposition. The pain of the Ukrainian city destroyed by the occupiers is reflected on each of them.

A book festival was organized in the Regional Book Collection for the students of the Center for Social Psychological Assistance and Rehabilitation of Children in the city of Kharkiv, who have been in one of the recreation facilities in Prykarpattia since the first days of the war. The festival is part of the VilnoHub program. The children received gifts – stationery, individual hygiene products and sweets.

Rescuers held the Young Firefighter competition in Prykarpattia for the students of the summer children’s Christian camp according to the international format FIREFIGHTER COMBAT CHALLENGE using a children’s obstacle course.

Lviv oblast

The Lviv City Council decided to equip a shelter (bomb shelter) in the Sykhiv district, which can be used to protect the population in case of emergency of a natural or man-made nature and in wartime.

22 children with disabilities have arrived in Lviv oblast. One of them moves around in a wheelchair. They were evacuated from the Zaporizhzhia orphanage. Children were placed in orphanages in Lviv oblast. This was reported by the RMA.

More than 30 organizations took part in the second online meeting of the child protection sub-cluster in Lviv oblast. During the meeting, an updated map of the organizations’ presence in the field of child protection in the oblast was presented. Further cooperation in the area of child protection was also discussed.

A social sewing enterprise was launched and provided with everything necessary thanks to joint efforts of the charitable organization 100% Life and the Lviv RMA. It should be noted that more than UAH 920K was allocated from the regional budget for the opening of this enterprise.

The international humanitarian organizations of the National Catering Association and the St. Thaddeus Charitable Foundation handed over humanitarian aid to IDPs from the Yavoriv district and the military. The military received flashlights, power banks, walkie-talkies, first-aid kits, thermal clothing, shoes, etc. Immigrants were provided with food, hygiene products, goods for children, blankets, clothes, etc.

The housewives of the villages of Perviatychi and Spasiv of the Sokal community of the Chervonohrad district have baked 1K kilograms of homemade cookies for Ukrainian defenders since the beginning of the war.

Rivne oblast

The Rivne City Council will allocate additional financial assistance to the socially vulnerable residents of the community due to over-execution of the city budget.

Places for displaced persons continue to be deployed in Rivne oblast. As of today, there are more than 5K free places in the region, and at the same time, it is necessary to equip 7,5K more. The region received such a task from the Government.

The RMA held a meeting regarding civil protection measures and safe conditions for children, students and employees in educational institutions, taking into account the armed aggression of the russian federation.

On August 19 and 20, a joint plant-wide emergency drill is being held at the Rivne NPP. This was reported by the Varash City Council.

Varash Lyceum No. 2 won sports equipment from the international charity Parimatch Foundation Ukraine. This is one of 30 sets that children will be able to use in physical education classes.

Harvesting of early group crops is almost over in Rivne oblast. 96% of winter wheat, 99% of spring barley, and 78% of oats were threshed. Winter rapeseed has already been harvested. Most crops of winter rye and spring wheat have been threshed. This was announced by the head of the Rivne regional government Vitalii Koval.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Head of regional policy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Vitalii Zahainyi. The issues of safety in shelters, in particular, in educational institutions, provision of civil protection of the population and warning systems were discussed.

The BraveTe economic forum will be held in the Diia Business Support Center for entrepreneurs in Ternopil on August 26. The forum program consists of two separate thematic blocks dedicated to the relocation of talents and businesses and the HoReCa market during the war. The program includes discussion panels and round tables with leading experts and entrepreneurs.

Children together with their parents organized a fair in Ternopil. They sold homemade pastries, drinks and handmade food. The collected money will go to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The volunteers wove more than 3K meters of camouflage nets for Ukrainian defenders in one of the officers’ garrison houses in Khmelnytskyi oblast.

A charity tour in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with an artistic action by the creative teams of the “Pearl” Culture and Leisure Center was launched in the Krasyliv community. Collected UAH 60K will go to the needs of the Armed Forces.

The clubs of the city Center for Work with Children and Adolescents at the place of residence are actively working in all neighborhoods of Khmelnytskyi. Educators and psychologists work with young immigrants.

Young residents organized a charity fair to help those who defend the country from the russian aggressor in the village of Sudylkova, the Shepetivka district. The collected money will go to the needs of the Armed Forces.

Chernivtsi oblast

In Chernivtsi, the city authorities plan to create a 50-bed hostel  for temporary displaced persons. The deputies supported the grant project for the use of 1.5 million euros at the session of the city council. The funds of the Northern Ecological Financial Corporation (NEFKO) will be directed to the improvement of living conditions and provision of services for IDPs.

Caritas Chernivtsi announced the issuance of short-term cash grants to pay for rented housing for IDPs. Families of 3 people or more can apply for grants. Priority will be given to vulnerable categories. 

International support

 

The Finnish Ministry of Defense announced that the country will conduct drills for the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of a training program led by the United Kingdom. Finland will send about 20 instructors to Britain.

The Estonian government has approved a new military aid package for Ukraine, including new batches of mortars and anti-tank weapons, as well as another field hospital.

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said that Ukraine managed to export 10 million tons of grains and oilseeds. 

After the meeting in Lviv, UN Secretary-General António Guterres stated the priority of the safety of the Zaporizhzhia NPP and the need to reach agreements on its demilitarization.

The British Academy will train Ukrainian cheesemakers in cheese making technology. With the support of the Swiss Academy of Cheese and ProCheese, it organizes a free course Theory of Professional Cheese Making for Ukrainian cheesemakers. 

US State Department spokesman Ned Price called for access to the Zaporizhzhia NPP for the IAEA.

Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) António Guterres announced the decision to conduct a mission to identify and establish the facts of the tragedy in occupied Olenivka.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis called on EU countries to cancel long-term Schengen visas issued by EU countries to russians at least until the end of the war in Ukraine.

In August, at the closing of the annual German Jazz Festival Cologne Jazz Week, which will be held in Cologne, the Lviv Academic Symphony Orchestra INSO-Lviv will perform together with the well-known abroad Ukrainian jazz performer Tamara Lukashova. INSO-Lviv intends to transfer 8 thousand euros for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Also, the conductor of the orchestra Yaroslav Shemet transfers the entire fee to the needs of the military.
