What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The enemy launched 4 missiles and 30 air strikes, 32 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. The russian terrorist attacks have killed and wounded civilians. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile and air strikes.

There were 31 combat engagements.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy fired from  mortar and artillery shells at more than 20 settlements, including Huta-Studenetska, Karpovychi, Chernihiv oblast, Vyntorivka, Volfyne, Romashkove, Shalyhyne, Simeikyne Volodymyrivka, Sumy oblast, Udy, Kozacha Lopan, Ternova, Khrypuny, Karaichne, Kolodiazne, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinity of Novoselivske, Luhansk oblast. The enemy launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Krokhmakne, Kharkiv oblast. Over 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire of the adversary, including Stroivka, Novomlynsk, Petropavlivka, Kyslivka, Pishchane, Druzhelyubivka, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Lyman, the invaders launched air strikes in the vicinities of Novoiehorivka and Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast. The enemy fired artillery at more than 10x settlements, including Makiivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast, Myrne, Torske, Sviato-Pokrovske, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinity of Kurdiumivka, Donetsk oblast. The enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Stupochky, Bila Hora and New York, Donetsk oblast. More than 15x settlements, including Vasyukivka, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Bila Hora, Dachne and Pivnichne, Donetsk oblast, suffered from enemy artillery shelling.

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy attempted attacks in the vicinity of Sieverne, Donetsk oblast to no success. The enemy continued artillery and mortar fire at the settlements of Keramik, Stepove, Sieverne, Nevelske, Memryk, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Mariinka, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the vicinity of Krasnohorivka, Donetsk oblast. The invaders fired artillery at the settlements of Oleksandropil, Hostre, Mariinka, Novomykhailivka, Katerynivka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the russian occupiers attempted attacks in the vicinity of Velyka Novosilka, Donetsk oblast to no success. The enemy launched an air strike in the vicinity of Staromaiorske, Donetsk oblast. They fired artillery at more than 10x settlements, including Vodyane, Novomykhailivka, Velyka Novosilka, Urozhaine, Vilne Pole, Novopil, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy launched air strikes in the vicinity of Malynivka, Zaporizhzhia oblast. Over 15 settlements suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Novodarivka, Chervone, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Mali Scherbaky, Zaporizhzhia oblast and Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk oblast.

Towards Kherson, the enemy fired from artillery at over 10 settlements, including Zolota Balka, Mylove, Kozatske, Burhunka, Tokarivka, Yantarne, Kherson oblast.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct the offensive operation towards  Melitopol, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery fire. 

The Ukrainian Air Forces launched 6 air strikes on the concentrations of troops, weapons and military equipment and 4 air strikes on the anti-aircraft missile systems of the adversary.

The Ukrainian missile and artillery troops hit 10 artillery systems at their firing positions, 1 ammunition depot and 1 radar station of the invaders.


The Security Services of Ukraine continues to expose personnel agents of the russian special services. “Since the war began, the service has exposed over 2K traitors and over 300 personnel agents of the russian special services. The Security Service of Ukraine detains top-level collaborators, medvedchuk, Bohuslaev, Director of Motor-Sich, and others,” said Artem Dekhtyarenko, spokesman of the Security Service of Ukraine.

In August, 19 objects of cultural infrastructure were damaged in Ukraine due to shelling by the russian federation. As of today, 1 624 objects of cultural infrastructure have been damaged, of which 591 objects have been destroyed. The cultural infrastructure suffered the greatest losses and damages in Donetsk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk oblasts.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Illia Yevlash, Head of the press service of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that the enemy conducted nine air strikes near Novoiehorivka yesterday. There were also eight assaults there. Out of the seven tanks destroyed towards Lyman and Kupiansk yesterday, six were destroyed near Novoiehorivka.  Also russians shelled the positions of our military and villages in our area of the frontline 650 times with artillery of various systems, and conducted 14 air strikes. Ukrainian defenders managed to eliminate 77 invaders. Seven tanks, including two modern T-90 Proryv tanks, were destroyed and infantry fighting vehicles, 3 vehicles, 82-mm mortars, Msta-B howitzers, a Pion artillery system, a drone and 2 ammunition depots.

Kharkiv oblast

Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ministry of Ukraine, informed that towards Kupiansk, russians are not gathering their forces but are rotating them.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that the invaders continue to target the border areas of Kharkiv oblast: Kupiansk, Chuhuiv, Izium, Bohodukhiv and Kharkiv regions.

During the day, the enemy used guided bombs and multiple rocket launchers against civilians.

The enemy launched guided bombs on Cherneshchyna village of Borove community at 9:30 am. The building, warehouses and workshop of an agricultural company were damaged.

The enemy attacked with MRLs downtown Kupiansk at 10:30 am, specifically the territory of the bus station and the central market. Two residential buildings, administrative buildings and non-residential premises were damaged. A 61-year-old man sustained blast and shrapnel wounds, his condition is moderate.

Cherneshchyna of Borove community was under enemy shelling (type of weapon – KAB) at around 2:15 pm, as a result of which 2 buildings were damaged.

2 residential buildings were damaged as a result of shelling with MRLs and a 49-year-old man sustained an explosive injury in Kopanky village of Borove community at 3:08 pm.

A residential building burned down as a result of russian shelling in Zapadne village of Dvorichna community at 5:55 pm. There were no casualties.

During the day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined 6.22 hectares of the territory and defused 73 explosive ordnance. The work involved 33 pyrotechnic crews of the State Emergency Service, specifically 162 people and 66 pieces of equipment.

Olena Sobolevska, Spokeswoman of Kharkiv police, reported that a citywide line-up for the Day of Knowledge was held in an underpass. At the beginning, the participants sang the national anthem and observed a minute of silence. The citywide line-up in Kharkiv subway underpass was attended by first-graders, graduates and their parents, about 700 people in total.

Donetsk oblast

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, towards Volnovakha, russians launched an air strike on Velyka Novosilka, shelled Vuhledar and Novoukrainka without any casualties.

Towards Donetsk, a building was damaged in Novooleksandrivka of Hrodivka community. A religious building was damaged in Memryk of Novohrodivka community. Overnight the outskirts of Kurakhove were shelled. In the morning, 5 streets of Avdiivka were under tanks and artillery attacks. Krasnohorivka and the outskirts of Ocheretyne community were shelled.

Towards Horlivka, Dovha Balka of Illinivsk community was shelled. Two buildings in Shcherbynivka of Toretsk community and two more in Chasiv Yar community were damaged.

Towards Lysychansk, a civilian was injured in Zarichne of Lyman community. A building was destroyed and 4 more damaged in Pereizne of Zvanivka community. A building was damaged in Siversk.

Over the past year and a half, russians have destroyed 158 educational institutions in the region and damaged another 609, but despite this, more than 92K school students went to 275 schools in Donetsk oblast.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, tomorrow early voting will start in the so-called ‘luhansk people’s republic’, which is a week before the day of the ‘first elections. It will take place in those settlements and districts where poll stations have not been set up and the electorate has not been introduced to the candidates. This procedure will last almost a week. Members of the commissions with ballot boxes will be travelling to the addresses and looking for people to vote.

The majority of enemy attacks are concentrated in Novoiehorivka. For a week and a half, russians have been trying to find a weakness in our defence there almost non stop. Sometimes they attack 10-12 times a day. The enemy is not reducing the number of air raids either, for instance, yesterday Novoiehorivka and Bilohorivka were hit. Nevske, Bilohorivka and Tverdokhlibove were under russian artillery attack.

Meanwhile, the logistical support of the occupation forces continues to worsen as evidenced by the introduction of the relevant restrictions on certain military units. Specifically, russian occupation administrations of Svatove region were informed that centralised food supplies for the personnel of the units deployed in the area would stop in September.

57 first-graders will study at lyceums in Kreminna. Complete general secondary education is provided by five Kreminna lyceums, which have 82 classes and will educate 1,690 students.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The condition of one of the victims of the rocket attack on Kyiv on the night of August 30 is serious, but stable. The hospital informed that the patient has combined shrapnel wounds to the torso, limbs, chest and neck. The man underwent 4 operations, he is currently in intensive care.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported that the capital will allocate another UAH 800 million for fortifications and urgent needs of the military under the city’s target program “Defender of Kyiv”. Also, according to him, the city plans to increase spending on drones and anti-drone equipment from the capital’s budget.

Kyiv RMA reported that the restored Sytnyakivskyi lyceum became operational in the Makariv community. The educational institution was overhauled after being damaged by a russian airstrike.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported that almost 25,000 first-graders went to schools in Kyiv this year, which is close to the pre-war figures. All 420 schools in Kyiv started work on September 1, most of them in the face-to-face format. 240,000 schoolchildren in the capital will study offline – this is 2.5 times more than last year.

A memorandum was signed at the capital city hall with the non-governmental organization “Association of Entrepreneurs-Veterans of the ATO” regarding the support of veterans who want to start and develop their business in Kyiv. As part of cooperation, veterans from Kyiv will receive the necessary knowledge, information and skills to open their own business, as well as financial and advisory support.

The Department of Culture and Tourism of the Kyiv Regional Government reported that 441,000 copies of russian-language books were removed from public libraries in the Kyiv oblast. After the russian invasion, libraries intensified their efforts to update their holdings. The removed literature for children and adults contained anti-Ukrainian content and narratives of the russian empire.

The capital metro received another train of six carriages of the Warsaw metro. As reported in the KCSA, in total, 36 Polish wagons out of 60 have already arrived in Kyiv. Transportation of another 24 wagons (4 trains) will continue until the end of 2023. The received trains, first of all, will be used as technical donors to carry out major repairs of the existing rolling stock and create a reserve of spare parts.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr RMA reported that almost 64,000 IDPs who left their homes due to russian shelling found shelter in the oblast. The largest number of displaced people came from Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.

The Youth Forum “Born Independent” took place in Zhytomyr. The participants of the event discussed the stages of the formation of Ukrainian statehood from the time of Kyiv Rus to the present day and the participation of young people in the struggle for Ukraine’s independence. The event was organized by RMA jointly with the NGO “Youth Integration Center”.

300 school backpacks from the “Caritas-Zhytomyr” Charitable Foundation will be given to children in grades 1-4. The first 30 backpacks were handed over on August 31 for children from families of internally displaced persons, large families, low-income families, foster families and children with disabilities.

A presentation of the film “Dovbush” was held at the Ivan Franko Cinema in Zhytomyr on August 31. This is the most anticipated premiere in Ukrainian cinema in recent years. After all, the film shows an entire era of the struggle of the Ukrainian people against injustice, enslavement and brutality of the occupying power through the prism of the story of two brothers.

Sumy oblast

The Office of the Prosecutor General reported that the occupiers carried out artillery shelling of the town of Seredyna-Buda, Shostka region from the territory of the russian federation, as a result of which four civilians received shrapnel wounds. In total, law enforcement officers received more than 100 reports of damage to citizens’ property. 16 apartment buildings, 12 private households, a critical infrastructure object, 5 administrative buildings and institutions, 3 educational institutions, shops and vehicles were damaged.

At night and in the morning, the russians carried out 4 shellings of the border – a total of 29 explosions were recorded. As reported in the Sumy RMA, the communities of Shalyhine, Krasnopillia and Khotyn were under mortar and artillery shelling.

During the past day, August 31, the russians carried out 27 shelling of the border territories of Sumy oblast, 167 explosions were recorded. The communities of Bilopillia, Seredina-Buda, Nova Sloboda, Putivl, Krasnopillia, Khotin, Esman, Velika Pysarivka, and Shalyhine came under shelling. A tractor and a truck were damaged due to mortar shelling in the Nova Sloboda community, a power line was damaged in the Krasnopillia community.

Sumy RMA reported that in almost three months, the fund of protective structures of the oblast has been increased by 288 objects. Currently, there are 1,892 shelters in the oblast.

Sumy RMA reported that 492 residents of the oblast received compensation for damaged property in the amount of over UAH 41 million.

Chernihiv oblast

During the past day, the russians shelled the border of Chernihiv oblast 6 times from their territory. As reported in the SBGS, a total of 28 mortar explosions were recorded. Semenivka and Snovsk communities were shelled.

Head of Chernihiv RMA Vyacheslav Chaus announced that shelters of 355 establishments in the oblast have been recognized as suitable. These institutions are ready for a mixed and face-to-face form of education, provided that the local self-government, pedagogical and parent teams agree on this particular form of education. Online education will take place in a 20-kilometer zone near the border with the russian federation (23 schools, 18 kindergartens – almost 2.5 thousand children) and in institutions where there are no or unsuitable shelters (9% of institutions).

The Department of Culture and Tourism of the Chernihiv City Council reported that the enemy rocket that hit the theater in Chernihiv on August 19 damaged 10 architectural monuments. One of them is of national importance and nine are of local importance.

Representatives of the “Partnership for a Strong Ukraine” Foundation expressed their readiness to help with the reconstruction of the center of Chernihiv, which was damaged by a russian missile strike on August 19. Options for cooperation were discussed as part of the work of the Regional Office of International Cooperation. As reported in RMA, the fund has been providing support in the reconstruction of Chernihiv oblast for one and a half years.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the regional council, the occupiers shelled Nikopol region with artillery. They hit the Marganets community. Velyka Mykhailivka community of Sinelnykove region was shelled twice. As a result of the shelling, power grids were damaged. Russians attacked Synelnykove and Nikopol regions with artillery.  A resident of Nikopol was injured. The 81-year-old woman was rescued from a blocked house. The shelling in Nikopol damaged 15 residential buildings, 11 outbuildings, a car, a dozen solar panels, 4 power lines and a gas pipeline. In the morning and during the day, russian occupiers shelled the villages of Velyka Mykhailivka community in Synelnykove region four times. Three private houses and power grids were damaged. Six settlements of the community were left without electricity supply, but power engineers restored it. 

The Council for Internally Displaced Persons at the city executive committee was established in Pavlohrad, Dnipro oblast. It was established to ensure and protect the rights and interests of IDPs, as well as their adaptation and integration.

503 paper airplanes in memory of the children who have been killed since the beginning of the full-scale invasion were hung up on the Day of Knowledge in Dnipro. Children’s toys were also brought there.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​ Head of the Vinnytsia RMA, Serhii Borzov, reported that during the night attack, the enemy launched two missiles. One was destroyed, the other hit a private enterprise in Vinnytsia oblast. Property and private cars were damaged. 3 civilians were injured. 

Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov announced that two vehicles were handed over to the military from Vinnytsia oblast. The military will install special equipment on the pickup trucks to destroy enemy shells. 

Kirovohrad oblast

According to Head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration Andrii Raikovych, a russian cruise missile was shot down in the sky over Kirovohrad oblast during the morning alert. 

A family of retirees from Kherson received a modular house from Kropyvnytskyi. As a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station by russian troops, they have lost their own home.

Poltava oblast

On the 1st of September, the farewell ceremony for the crews of two helicopters that crashed in Donetsk oblast on 29 August was held in Poltava oblast. Relatives and friends of the soldiers attended.

Cherkasy oblast

Mortar gunners and engineers of the 118th Brigade held military masterclasses for pupils of the Cherkasy Sanatorium School. The servicemen demonstrated the weapons and equipment they use and held tactical medicine classes and training sessions on assembling and disassembling assault rifles for the high school students.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The Ukrainian armed forces continue their offensive operation on the Bahmut and Melitopol fronts. Ukrainian military forces achieved success towards Novodanylivka-Novoprokopivka in Zaporizhzhia oblast. This information was reported today, on September 1, by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yesterday, 21 populated areas were shelled for 95 times. 83 artillery bombardments were recorded on the territory of Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Zaliznychne, Robotyne, Bilohiria, Chervone, Piatyhatky, Stepnohirsk, Pavlivka, and other front-line towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy carried out four drone attacks on Olenivka, Bilohiria, Novodarivka, and Kamianske, as well as eight MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) bombardments on Huliaipole, Temyrivka, Novodarivka, and Kamianske. As a result of artillery strikes on Huliaipole, a 52-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man were injured. Additionally, a 59-year-old man who came under artillery fire in Orikhiv was wounded, and all of them were taken to a medical facility. There have been 21 reports of residential buildings and infrastructure objects being destroyed.

The occupiers are forcing parents to obtain russian documents for their children in the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia oblast. Without them, children are not allowed to attend school. This was reported today by the mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov.

It is reported that the occupiers conducted a raid in one of the garage cooperatives in the temporarily occupied Melitopol, supposedly searching for partisans. russian military personnel forcibly opened garage doors regardless of whether the owner had left or not. During the searches, occupiers confiscated equipment and metal to take for scrap.

The General Staff reports that the russian occupation authorities continue preparations for the so-called “elections” in the occupied territories of Ukraine. Specifically, occupiers are disseminating information through propaganda-controlled sources in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast, that, according to the “All-russian Center for Studying Public Opinion” data, the political party “united russia” will win in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia oblast. Occupiers claim that supposedly 89% of “voters” who have decided on their choice and 80% of those who intend to participate in the voting are ready to vote for this party.

An anchor school in Shyroke community received a new bus as part of the program of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and humanitarian assistance from European partners. The vehicle will help organize the process of centralized transportation for children from 14 populated areas.

Mykolaiv oblast

On August 31, at 13:14, the enemy carried out artillery shelling in the waters of Ochakiv community. There were no casualties reported. This information was provided by Mykolaiv RMA.

The incorporation of the Mykolaiv Port Infrastructure into the grain corridor can only happen after the de-occupation of the Kinburn Peninsula. The infrastructure for grain storage in the region has suffered more from russian shelling than the port itself. Some grain elevators in Mykolaiv oblast were destroyed by the russian army, but most of the facilities remain undamaged and are ready for operation. This was explained by the head of the RMA, Vitalii Kim.

In September 2023, approximately 3,220 children entered the first grade in Mykolaiv. Compared to the 2021-2022 school year, the number of first-graders in the city decreased by 31 percent. Due to the war and the danger of shelling, education will begin in a remote format. All celebratory events in honor of September 1 have been canceled throughout the region.

Odesa oblast

As of September 1, the russian army holds two missile-carrying ships in the Black Sea, with a total salvo of up to 16 “Kalibr” missiles. The enemy’s naval group continues to maneuver in the northeast part of the Black Sea with a total of 11 ships. One russian ship is lurking in the Azov Sea, near the Kerch-Yenikale Canal. This information was provided by the “South” Operational Command.

On Friday, September 1, the Resilience Center was opened in Odesa, initiated by the “Israeli Coalition for Trauma Work.” Similar centers were previously opened in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Ternopil, and Khmelnytskyi.

The UNICEF Children’s Fund delivered 40K individual sets of school supplies, including backpacks and stationery, to first-graders in the Odesa and Mykolaiv oblast fefore the start of the new school year. Children from vulnerable categories will also receive these sets. This initiative, part of the humanitarian response to the challenges of the war, is being implemented with the financial support of the government of Japan. The implementing partner is the Charitable Fund “Winds of Change.”

According to data from the vessel tracking service Marinetraffic, on September 1, two bulk carriers – Anna Theresa (Filia Glory) and Ocean Courtesy – departed from the Port of Pivdennyi. The first vessel under the flag of Liberia is heading to the port of Varna, while the destination of the second bulk carrier has not been specified yet. These are the third and fourth vessels to use the temporary corridor for commercial vessels to/from the ports of Great Odesa. According to the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure of Ukraine, the ships are carrying 56K tons of iron ore concentrate and 172K tons of iron ore. Both bulk carriers are operated by a Singaporean shipping company and were in the Port of Pivdennyi before the full-scale invasion and are currently heading through the temporary corridor towards the Bosporus.

Kherson oblast

Around 12:50, occuppiers shelled a residential quarter in the city of Kherson. A 34-year-old man who was on the street at the time suffered life-threatening injuries.

Yesterday, the enemy conducted 61 shelling incidents, firing 290 shells from mortars, artillery, tanks, “Grad” rocket launchers, drones, and aviation. The russian army once again carried out airstrikes on Olhivka and Mykolaivka, resulting in damage to at least 6 buildings. In the city of Kherson, the enemy fired 14 shells. russian military targeted residential quarters in populated areas of the region. Due to russian aggression, one person was killed, and another was injured. The police recorded 9 war crimes committed by the russian army against the civilian population of the right-bank part of Kherson oblast in the past day.

It is reported that russian occupiers are actively searching for three of their servicemen in the temporarily occupied village of Brylivka. They are deserters and allegedly left their place of service, changed into civilian clothing, and went into hiding.

Eleven children have been successfully returned home after being illegally held by occupiers on the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson oblast. Among them are six children who are deprived of parental care, and five have families. Each of them was eagerly awaited. The youngest child is 2 years old, and the oldest is 16.

A “First Bell” celebration was held in Kozhubeivka community for the first time since the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine. Thirteen first-graders were welcomed to school.

Police officers delivered targeted humanitarian aid to families with children affected by the war, which was provided by law enforcement agencies from Chernivtsi oblast. The aid included school supplies and clothing. Police inspectors from Kherson oblast, together with juvenile police officers from the humanitarian mission, visited the most affected settlements and delivered the necessary items to the people.

Volunteers from the “Prolisok” Humanitarian Mission delivered humanitarian cargo to Kherson. They provided assistance to individuals whose homes were affected by flooding and shelling, delivering beds, folding cots, blankets, hygiene kits, and solar-powered lamps.

Volyn oblast

Yurii Pohulyajko, Head of the RMA, reported that students from Volyn received 1K shoulder bags from UNICEF. Each backpack is filled with necessary school supplies: a diary, notebooks, paints, plasticine, pens, felt-tip pens, scissors, glue, pencils, etc.

Zakarpattia oblast

In the village of Velyka Oleksandrivka of Kherson oblast, whose reconstruction is under the care of Zakarpattia, 21 residential buildings were repaired. Work is ongoing at another 18 facilities. The damage is significant: in some places, the entire roof needs to be restored, floors between floors must be strengthened, broken windows, doors, etc. must be replaced. The works are carried out at the expense of the regional budget and territorial communities of Zakarpattia.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

In Ivano-Frankivsk, a commemorative plaque to Vasyl Hutsuliak was unveiled on the facade of Lyceum #22. The senior sergeant of the 109th battalion of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade was killed during artillery shelling near Mykolaivka.

Lviv oblast

In Stavchan, houses damaged by the rocket attack on August 15 continue to be restored. The commission of Obroshyn village council drew up 40 inspection reports on damaged objects and allocated UAH 944K for victims who submitted applications to the village council, namely 29 farm owners. This week, the funds started flowing into the victims’ accounts.

A dormitory for IDPs is being renovated in Strii district. In June, 150 IDPs already received temporary housing in this dormitory. For them, 68 rooms on the 4th and 5th floors were renovated and equipment and furniture were installed. At this stage, the goal is to repair 1-3 floors.

44 rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors will be renovated in the dormitory of Medenytskyi Vocational Lyceum, where IDPs will also be able to receive temporary shelter. UAH 10 mln have been earmarked for repairs from the regional budget.

The RMA reported that military soldier Mykola Matiyev, from Slav community, received the For Exemplary Service badge from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Rivne oblast

Algorithms for responding to possible out-of-state situations are being developed at the facilities of the housing and communal enterprise of Rivne oblast. For example, an emergency power outage was simulated at the region’s heating and water supply enterprises. Employees of the State Emergency Service are involved in the training.

Ternopil oblast

Serhii Nadal, Mayor of Ternopil, received an award from the Main Directorate of Intelligence.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that almost 400 educational institutions of Khmelnytskyi region were unable to start full-time education. This is due to the lack of shelters or insufficient number of places for children and staff in storage facilities.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA held an online-meeting of the international working group with the participation of Dorel Fronea, advisor on customs issues of the European Union Consultative Mission. The development of customs infrastructure was discussed.

Roman Klichuk, Mayor of Chernivtsi, announced that almost UAH 22.1 mln were allocated from the city budget to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and law enforcement officers, which will be used for the purchase of drones, anti-UAV countermeasures, equipment repair, etc. 

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The Pentagon reported that the US signed a $192 mln contract with the Raytheon Missiles and Defense company for the supply of AMRAAM missiles as part of the aid budget to Ukraine completed by November 29, 2024. The number of missiles ordered is not announced.

Finland provided Ukraine with a new aid package, which includes equipment for sewage treatment plants and special vehicles. In addition, at the end of the summer, ambulances, a fire truck, 3D modeling equipment and various water supply equipment, including pumps, were sent from Finland to Ukraine.

Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, held an informal meeting with EU ministers in Toledo (Spain). They discussed the export of Ukrainian grain, the Ukrainian Peace Formula, the Global Peace Summit, the return of Ukrainian children abducted by russia, increasing the joint production of weapons based on the results of the Defense Industries Forum in Ukraine, defense and humanitarian aid to Ukraine, and Ukraine’s membership in the EU.

The Office of the President of Ukraine reported that over 70 countries already share the Ukrainian philosophy of the Peace Formula.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with representatives of the BAE Systems company, which produces, in particular, L119 and M777 artillery and CV90 armored vehicles. BAE Systems starts working in Ukraine.

As part of the ongoing dialogue with partners, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, had a phone conversation with General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States. They discussed the operational situation at the front and the course of the offensive operation.

Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, held a meeting with the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden. They discussed implementation of agreements based on the results of the recent visit of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Sweden.

As part of the Bring Kids Back UA program, prepared on the instructions of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian interdepartmental working group, together with UN agencies and structures in Ukraine, began working on the implementation strategy of the joint plan of measures to prevent and end gross violations of children’s rights in the conditions of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine .

Josep Borrell, High Representative of the EU for foreign and security policy, called for determining the estimated time of accession of new members to the EU.

3K doses of vaccines against hepatitis A were delivered to Ukraine thanks to the financial support of the Government of Japan. The vaccine was delivered by UNICEF Ukraine as humanitarian aid at the request of the Ministry after the terrorist attack on Kakhovka HPP.
