On October 29, there were 40 combat clashes. The enemy launched a total of 1 missile and 57 air strikes, 22 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the attacks resulted in wounded civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed or damaged. Also last night, russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with 5 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces and means intercepted all enemy UAVs.
The operational situation in east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
Towards Volyn and Polissia, there are no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.
Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increasing the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Holyshivske, Kindrativka, Oleksandriya, Turiia, Hrabovske, and Riasne (Sumy oblast).
Towards Kupiansk, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the vicinity of Synkivka and Ivanivka (Kharkiv oblast), where Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 attacks. The occupiers launched air strikes near Synkivka and Novoosynove (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).
Towards Lyman, the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations. The invaders launched airstrikes in the vicinity of Serebrianka forestry and Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Spirne, and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).
Towards Bakhmut, the enemy made an unsuccessful attempt to regain the lost ground in the vicinity of Andriivka. russian forces launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Klishchiivka (Donetsk oblast). More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Markove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, and Niu York (Donetsk oblast).
Towards Avdiivka, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the vicinities of Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Opytne, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast). Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled more than 10 attacks in that area. Also, the enemy launched airstrikes near Novobakhmutivka and Avdiivka (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Keramik, Novobakhmutivka, Lastochkyne, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Yasnobrodivka, and Netailove (Donetsk oblast).
Towards Marinka, with the air support, the enemy invaders conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the vicinities of Marinka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). The Ukrainian soldiers repelled 12 attacks in that area. Around 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka, were under artillery and mortar fire.
Towards Shakhtarske, the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations. The occupiers launched airstrikes near Zolota Nyva and Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast). Around 10 settlements, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Blahodatne, and Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast), came under artillery and mortar fire.
Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy made 4 attempts to regain the lost position in the vicinity of Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast), to no success. The enemy launched airstrikes near Novodanylivka and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Around 15 settlements, including Poltavka, Huliaipole, Charivne, Orikhiv, Mali Shcherbaky, and Kamianske (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
Towards Kherson, the occupiers launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Vesele, Odradokamianka, Tiahynka, and Ivanivka (Kherson oblast). Kherson, Romashkove (Kherson oblast), and Ochakiv (Mykolaiv oblast) suffered enemy artillery shelling.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation on Melitopol’ axis and offensive (assault) operations on Bakhmut axis, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, exhausting the enemy all along the front line.
The Ukrainian Air Force launched 16 air strikes on buildups of enemy troops, weapons, and military equipment.

Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, Commander of the Tavriia operational and strategic grouping of troops, says that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive towards Melitopol. Over the last day alone, 13 occupants surrendered.
Natalia Humeniuk, Head of the press center of the South Operational Command, informs that on the night of October 29, russia dropped 32 guided bombs on Kherson oblast. The right bank along the water suffered the most.
The website of the Ukrainian parliament reports that a draft law has been registered to introduce fines for curfew violations. The document proposes to introduce fines for individuals in the amount of UAH 8,500 to 17,000, and for businesses – UAH 51,000 to 102,000.
Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian troops launched air strikes near Synkivka and Novoosynove of Kupiansk region. According to the report, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven russian attacks near Synkivka and Ivanivka.
Andrii Kanashevysh, Head of Kupiansk Regional Administration, reported that russian troops shelled Podoly village and Kupiansk with artillery. The shelling damaged buildings there but no one was injured.
According to him, about 600 people, including 275 children, are to be evacuated from three communities in Kupiansk region during the forced evacuation.
Volodymyr Fito, Head of press service of the Ground Forces Command, said that six russian attacks were repelled by the Defence Forces near Synkivka, Ivanivka and Petropavlivka towards Lyman-Kupiansk yesterday.
According to him, the invaders began to use fewer drones in this area due to worsening weather conditions. Also russian troops shelled Ukrainian positions 355 times, launched four air strikes and used one Kamikaze drone.
Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that the enemy continued shelling the border and frontline settlements of the region yesterday. Specifically, the invaders attacked Vovchansk and Starytsia of Chuhuiv region, Kozacha Lopan of Kharkiv region, Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Synkivka, Berestove of Kupiansk region and other settlements.
There were no casualties from the shelling among the civilian population over the day.
Mine clearance is ongoing. Yesterday pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined almost 12 hectares of territory and defused 62 explosive ordnance.
Donetsk oblast
Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said that russian invaders killed nine people, including two children, in Volnovakha. According to his preliminary information, the invaders killed a family who “refused to hand over their home to the Chechen invaders”.
Commander Yurii Fedorenko informed that Ukraine has increased the production of drones and in six months the part of the UAVs, that Achilles Company receives from the state, has increased to 50%. At the same time, the intensity of hostilities is so high, including towards Bakhmut, where Fedorenko’s company is fighting, that there is a shortage of drones.
Volodymyr Fito, Head of the Ground Forces Communications Service, reported that Ukrainian troops repelled 21 attacks in the eastern part of the frontline. Due to the strong winds, russian troops have reduced the use of Kamikaze drones in recent days.
Over the past 20 days, russian forces have lost about 6,500 soldiers, 100 tanks and almost 250 units of other armoured vehicles near Avdiivka. This was reported by Oleksandr Shtupun, Spokesman of the joint press centre of Tavriisk Defence Forces. He said that up to 40K russian soldiers are deployed in this area.
IT specialists from Kramatorsk are working with American inventors to create medical devices for victims of explosive injuries. The development will be used by combat medics in hospitals in frontline cities.
Ukrainian border guards shot down a russian attack aircraft near Avdiivka. According to preliminary information, it was an SU-25.
Russian troops shelled Ostrivske village of Pokrovsk community, killing a man with an artillery shell. According to Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman of Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the man had received humanitarian aid and was on his way home.
In the morning russian troops shelled Avdiivka with heavy artillery. Also, Chasiv Yar and Vuhledar were under enemy attack yesterday, injuring four policemen.
The night in Donetsk oblast was relatively calm, with no reports of casualties or injuries.
Towards Volnovakha, russians shelled Vuhledar with mortars, Grad MRLs, AGS launchers and SPG guns.
Towards Donetsk, Novomykhailivka and Maksymilianivka of Marinka community were shelled. Avdiivka suffered a massive artillery attack in the morning.
Towards Horlivka, a building in Chasiv Yar community and power lines in Toretsk community were damaged.
Towards Lysychansk, a building in Siversk was damaged and Lyman community was shelled 8 times.
Ihor Moroz, Acting Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, informed that 82 children were evacuated from the communities of Bakhmut and Pokrovsk regions.
Luhansk oblast
In recent days, russians have concentrated their efforts mostly towards the Kupiansk, where most of the attacks are taking place. Lyman is under attack from aircraft, artillery and mortars. Yesterday, the invaders bombed Bilohorivka. They opened fire on Nevske, Makiivka and Bilohorivka. Preliminarily, there were no destructions.
Luhansk Regional Military Academy reported that previously, school students studied the history of the 21st century in the 11th grade, but this year, additional hours of this subject were introduced for 9th graders in the schools of the so-called “lpr”. They study modern history of russia and a significant part of the topics is about russia’s war against Ukraine. Propaganda is working with tomorrow’s graduates in advance. Mandatory military registration is still ahead as soon as they turn 17.
The invaders regularly check private houses in villages for owners. The smaller the settlement, the easier it is to notice the absence. Unless “good neighbours” have already reported it.
Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, informed that on the eastern front, russians concentrated their assault forces. They are attacking from the air and with artillery towards Kupiansk and Lyman.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
The center for training national resistance participants has started working in the capital’s Desnianskyi district. Kyiv residents will be taught how to counter saboteurs and reconnaissance groups, the basics of mine safety and first aid, as well as how to prepare homes in the event of a power, gas, and water outage. The project was organized by the Desnianskyi RDA and the Voluntary Formation of the Territorial Community.
The courses on self-defense for women organized and conducted by the NGO Ukrainian Women’s Guard are held in Kyiv. In the premises of the European University, another class was held for two groups of women, conducted by Viktor Kraievskyi. The purpose of the event is to teach women self-defense techniques, social cohesion of Ukrainians, support and assistance during the war.
Hostomel Military Administration reported that applications will be accepted in Hostomel and Moschun from residents for greenhouses provided by the International Committee of the Red Cross to support agricultural producers in the territories affected by the war. Registration for receiving greenhouses will last 3 days – from October 30 to November 1.
In Kyiv’s Shevchenko Park, the playground, which was damaged by a massive russian missile attack on October 10, 2022, is being overhauled.
KCSA reported that two psychological sessions were held in the capital as part of the project to support families of servicemen. The next session is scheduled for October 31, and will be devoted to overcoming stress. The training is conducted by specialists of the Kyiv City Center for Gender Equality, Prevention and Counteraction of Violence. Some psychologists have experience of working with military personnel since 2014.
The Red Cross Society of Ukraine reported that solar panels were installed in Vyshneve city hospital. From now on, the medical facility, which serves more than 120,000 patients, will be able to provide services during emergency power outages. Solar panels work completely autonomously from a centralized power supply. The representatives of the Estonian Red Cross, who collected about UAH 4.5 million, helped to buy them.
Zhytomyr oblast
The Ministry of Health of Ukraine reported that Korosten Central Regional Hospital, which was damaged by the russian missile fire in the first months of the full-scale invasion, has been restored. Thanks to joint efforts of partners and funds from the reserve fund of the state budget, it was possible to completely replace windows on four floors and carry out current repairs in the hospital. In total, 24 medical facilities were restored in Zhytomyr oblast, another 18 were partially restored.
64 Safety Classrooms are already functioning in Zhytomyr oblast. It is a space where children learn the rules of life safety. Besides, they have the opportunity to become familiar with the profession of a rescuer. The safety classrooms are opened as part of a joint all-Ukrainian project of the State Emergency Service and the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine, which is implemented by local communities and philanthropists.
Sumy oblast
Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that at night, the russians shelled Seredino-Buda community.
Sumy RMA reported that the enemy carried out 4 attacks on border territories and communities, there were 9 mortar and artillery hits. Krasnopillia, Shalyhine, Seredino-Buda and Hlukhiv communities came under shelling.
This week in Sumy, the first results of the program “Doctor and war: prevention of professional burnout”, which involves psychological rehabilitation training for medical workers, were collected. The program was launched by Sumy Mental Health Center. To date, about 130 doctors of the oblast have used it.
197 photos of the Azovstal defenders who were killed were placed in Krolevets Culture House in Sumy oblast. The initiators of the photo exhibition “My heart is steel, my blood is Azov” were the parents of 19-year-old soldier Hlib Koscheiev, who left college at the age of 18 and volunteered for military service. Within the campaign “Prevent. Save. Help” young rescuers, students of Shostka center of aesthetic education, took part in an educational quest on the basis of the State Emergency Service unit. The participants demonstrated theoretical knowledge of fire and mine protection, as well as practised rescue operations in conditional dangerous situations.
Chernihiv oblast
The russian army shelled the border of Chernihiv oblast 5 times from their territory. As reported in the SBGS, there were 40 mortar and AGS strikes. Snovsk and Horodnianka communities came under shelling.
The modular town located in Chernihiv, on Volodymyr Drozd Street will open from next week. These are seven two-storey modular houses with 112 apartments. It is planned that 240 people who lost their houses due to russian aggression will live there. The Red Cross helped build temporary housing for people, buy furniture and household appliances. Landscaping around the houses was done at the expense of the city budget.
Chernihiv regional police reported that an art therapy session was held in the city with the children of the killed and wounded defenders. The workshop was held for children of policemen who have experienced all the horrors of combat and need psychological support.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council reported that the enemy attacked Nikopol region with artillery four times. They bombarded Nikopol and Myrove community. One and a half dozen shells were fired. A state institution, a private factory and 6 residential buildings were damaged in the city.

98 damaged facilities as a result of russian shelling have been repaired in Nikopol this year. Currently, there are still 93 objects in operation. In 2022, UAH 37 million was allocated from the city budget for reconstruction, in 2023 — UAH 14 million .
Vinnytsia oblast
In the air defense units of the 120th territorial defense brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Vinnytsia, exercises were conducted as close as possible to real combat operations. Maximum attention was paid to the development of mobility, communication, and coherence of the units.
Poltava oblast
Filip Pronin, Head of Poltava RMA, reported that russians launched a missile attack on Myrhorod region.

Zaporizhzhia oblast
On October 28, the enemy conducted 133 strikes on 20 cities and villages in Zaporizhia oblast. The russian military carried out 4 drone attacks on Novodanylivka and Kamianske, fired rockets from MLRSs at Robotyne, and dropped 3 aerial bombs on Orikhiv. There were 125 artillery shelling attacks across Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Chervone, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Verkhnia Tersa, Stepove, Piatyhatky, Kamianske, and other frontline settlements. Three residential buildings were damaged by enemy projectiles. No civilians were harmed.
On October 28, a fire broke out in the city of Orikhiv as a result of russian shelling. Two residential buildings with an area of 156 square meters were ablaze.
Mykolaiv oblast
Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv RMA, reports that the russian army shelled the waters and settlements of Kutsurub community with artillery. On the night of October 29, the air defense forces destroyed two strike drones over Mykolaiv oblast. Additionally, the russian army shelled the waters and the city of Ochakiv with artillery. There were no reported casualties.

A charity concert and a fair were held in Mykolaiv on October 28 to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The event was organized by Welcome to Ukraine volunteers. Participants included young musicians, teachers, and enthusiasts. At the charity fair, people could purchase souvenirs such as balloons, cookies, flags, and magnets in exchange for donations. The volunteers raised UAH 6,5K.
Odesa oblast
The South Operational Command reports that russia has reduced the number of ships on combat duty in the Black Sea to two ships due to a storm. One of these ships is a missile cruiser armed with four Kalibr missiles.
Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi city received a loader, a bus, as well as a mini-tractor, compressor, generator, and passenger cars from Western partners. The charitable aid was sent from Germany by the sister cities of Ulm and Neu-Ulm, which also covered the costs of transporting the vehicles to Ukraine.
Andrii Klymenko, Head of the monitoring group at the Black Sea Institute for Strategic Studies, informs that on October 28, five ships with a total cargo capacity of over 163K tons entered the maritime ports of Odesa oblast. Two of these ships are making their second voyage after Ukraine announced the launch of a new corridor in the Black Sea.
Kherson oblast
The previous night, the occupiers launched an attack on Novoberyslav with 4 guided aerial bombs, resulting in the destruction of residential buildings. On October 29, russian forces shelled Novoberyslav with artillery. A 46-year-old local resident was wounded while being on the street during the attack and has been hospitalized in critical condition. He was diagnosed with explosive and open cranial-brain injuries, as well as head shrapnel wounds.
On October 28, the enemy conducted 63 shelling attacks, firing a total of 301 shells from mortars, artillery, Grad MLRSs, tanks, drones, and aircraft. There were 28 air-to-ground missile strikes on settlements in Kherson oblast. The occupiers targeted Beryslav, Odradokamianka, Kozatske, Vesele, Ivanivka, and Novoberyslav with guided aviation bombs. This resulted in damage to a school building, causing a fire that was extinguished. Additionally, more than 20 buildings, shops, cars, offices, and administrative buildings were damaged during the shelling. A police vehicle was damaged in Berysla by an airstrike, but the law enforcement officers were unharmed. The city of Kherson was targeted with 16 shells. The enemy’s artillery fire affected both Kherson and its suburbs, damaging private homes. The police initiated two criminal investigations regarding the war crimes committed by russians on the territory of Kherson oblast.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to fulfil their combat and fire missions in the south. Ukrainian defenders eliminated 23 occupiers, 2 BTR-82 armored vehicles, 4 guns, and 1 car. An additional field supply point was destroyed.
The Proliska mission delivered humanitarian aid to Kherson residents, whose homes have suffered due to another act of russian terror. Building materials and tarpaulins have been delivered.
Volunteers from the GEM mission delivered humanitarian aid to Zolota Balka, a village that faces daily enemy shelling. Family kits were provided to residents of Mykhailivka, Havrylivka, and Ukrainka.
A new school bus from the International Solidarity Fund was delivered to Vysokopillia. As soon as the security situation permits, school students will be able to commute.

The 1st charity Kraina Half Marathon in support of the Armed Forces gathered about 400 runners in Uzhhorod. The oldest participant of the half-marathon is 73 years old, the youngest only 3. All charitable contributions of participants will be used to purchase a trench dome EW and stitched kamikaze drones for the 63rd separate mechanized brigade of the 105th Zakarpattia battalion.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
Svitlana Onyshchuk, RMA Head, received the Wolves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine battle flag, which was sent by soldiers of the 77th battalion of the 102nd separate territorial defense brigade. The defenders also sent chevrons to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine.
In Ivano-Frankivsk community, 220 combatants will receive UAH 20K each. Such assistance has already been allocated to 2 819 soldiers for the total amount of UAH 56,36 K.
Lviv oblast
According to the RMA, families of Ukrainian defenders from the Krasnensk community attended a service for missing, killed in action, and captured soldiers and those at the front at the Spiritual Center in Zarvanytsia.
Over 7K trees were planted in Brodiv region as part of the Million Trees of Memory and Life international campaign. This initiative also aims to support the morale of Ukrainians and raise funds for reconnaissance drones for the Armed Forces.
A charity evening of professional boxing was held in Lviv oblast in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. All funds from the evening will be donated to support the military.
Rivne oblast
The RMA held a meeting with Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine. One of the key topics is shelter arrangement. There are 129 shelters, 1 551 anti-radiation shelters, 564 shelter-like facilities and 6 dual-purpose structures in the oblast. The work on arranging shelters continues. Territorial communities of the oblast have already provided information on the development of design and documentation for the construction and overhaul of another 39 shelters. In total, there are shelters to accommodate 835K oblast residents, which is 73% of its population.
Ternopil oblast
Ternopil City Council reports that each soldier from the community can receive a set of thermal clothing and an individual first-aid kit.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
At night, during the air alert, air defense forces were engaged in Khmelnytskyi oblast. There are neither casualties nor damage to civil infrastructure.
Chernivtsi oblast
The RMA reported that junior sergeant Ihor Khopta, resident of the village of Berehomet, from the 107th Territorial Defense Brigade received the For the Defense of Ukraine award.
International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)
On October 28, Malta hosted the 3rd meeting of national security and foreign policy advisors to discuss implementation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula and the principles of restoring peace in Ukraine, which was attended by representatives from 66 states and international organizations. During the meeting, 5 key points of the Peace Formula were considered, namely nuclear, radiation, food, and energy security, release of APl prisoners and deported persons and restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the world order.
Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President, held a meeting with Emma Aparisi, diplomatic adviser of the Prime Minister of Spain. Particular attention was paid to participation of Spain in the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, in particular global food security.

6 modern computed tomography (CT) machines were delivered to Ukrainian hospitals thanks to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank. In total, 24 CTs were purchased as part of the cooperation.
The Information and Security Service of Moldova reported that the country’s access to websites of 22 russian propaganda TV channels was blocked.
