It has been the 593rd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

There were 34 combat clashes over the day. The enemy launched 1 missile and 39 air strikes, fired 23 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops’ positions and localities. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains challenging.

The situation towards Volyn and Polissia remained unchanged. There were no signs of offensive groups forming. Certain units of the belarusian armed forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, continues shelling settlements from the territory of the russian federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy conducted air strikes in the vicinity of Halahanivka, Chernihiv oblast; Dihtiarne and Stepne, Sumy oblast. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Senkivka in Chernihiv oblast; Stepne, Sumy oblast; Kozacha Lopan, Vovchanski Khutory, Okhrymivka, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, our defenders repelled five enemy attacks near the towns of Synkivka and Ivanivka in Kharkiv oblast. The enemy launched airstrikes near Kindrashivka, Petropavlivka and Pishchane in Kharkiv oblast. More than 15 settlements, including Dvorichna, Petropavlivka, Kyslivka, and Synkivka in Kharkiv oblast, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.

Towards Lyman, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled seven enemy attacks near Makiivka, Luhansk oblast. The enemy launched air strikes near Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast, and Siversk and Spirne, Donetsk oblast. Artillery and mortar shelling affected more than 10 settlements, including Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast and Spirne and Rozdolivka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, our defenders repelled four enemy attacks near Klishchiivka, Donetsk oblast. The enemy conducted air strikes in the areas of Klishchiivka and Andriivka. More than 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Minkivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and Nyzhyk in Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Avdiivka, the occupiers conducted air strikes in the vicinity of Keramik, Novokalynove and Avdiivka in Donetsk oblast. About 10 settlements, including Stepove, Avdiivka, Opytne, Nevelske in Donetsk oblast, were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks.

Towards Marinka, Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully repelled 15 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Mariinka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk oblast over the last day. The enemy also conducted airstrikes here. About 15 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Heorhiivka, Pobeda, Novomykhailivka in Donetsk oblast, were under the fire of the occupiers’ artillery.

Towards Shakhtarsk, our defenders repelled an enemy attack near Staromaiorske, Donetsk oblast. About 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Blahodatne, and Urozhaine in Donetsk oblast, came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack near Levadne in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The occupiers conducted airstrikes near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia oblast. About 30 settlements, including Orikhiv, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mali Shcherbaky, and Pyatikhatky in Zaporizhzhia oblast, were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.

Towards Kherson, the enemy conducted airstrikes near Zmiivka and Beryslav in the Kherson oblast. Prydniprovske, Kherson in Kherson region, and Dmytrivka in Mykolaiv oblast were subjected to hostile artillery and mortar attacks.

Ukrainian Defense Forces continue offensive operations towards Melitopol sector and offensive (assault) operations towards Bakhmut, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and exhausting the enemy along the entire front line. 

Aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 10 strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Missile troops hit a command center, an ammunition depot, 2 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, and an enemy electronic warfare station.


Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Ukraine returned 9 children who were in the territories temporarily occupied by Russia. These are boys and girls aged 5 to 14. In total, since the beginning of 2023, 121 children from Kherson region have been returned to the government-controlled territory.

Ukrzaliznytsia introduces security marshals at train stations and on trains. These are employees of the company’s departmental paramilitary security, whose main task is to monitor the security situation in passenger transportation and respond in a timely manner if necessary. Unlike their security colleagues, who work at railroad facilities in uniform with all the insignia, marshals do not work in public. The first marshals started their work in September, and they are working in one of the most popular western destinations.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The 14th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after Kniaz Roman the Great reported that russian troops became more active towards Kupiansk.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, informed that towards Kupiansk, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled three enemy attacks near Synkivka and Ivanivka.

Yesterday russian invaders attacked civilian infrastructure and civilians in Chuhuiv and Kupiansk regions with artillery, mortars and other weapons.

As a result of the hostile artillery shelling of Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, after 6 pm, two private buildings were seriously damaged. A civilian woman of 65 years old was killed.

At least 5 private residential buildings in Vovchansk were damaged in the last 24 hours as a result of the enemy shelling.

After 6:30 pm, there was a hostile shelling in Zemlianky village. There were no casualties or serious destruction.

In total, more than 15 settlements were under hostile fire, including Kamianka, Dvorichna, Kyslivka, Kozacha Lopan and Okhrymivka.

Dmytro Chubenko, Spokesman of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office, said that the number of people killed as a result of the russian missile strike on Hroza has not yet been established. According to him, the identification process is still ongoing and it is likely that 51 people were killed.

Donetsk oblast

The enemy moved about five thousand soldiers to Mariupol. According to Petro Andriushchenko, Mariupol Mayor’s Councillor, the soldiers have two guns on their chevrons. According to him, russian military is also moving air defence and communications systems to the city.

Donetsk Prosecutor’s Office informed that russian military shelled Kostiantynivka and Avdiivka. As a result of the shelling, a man was killed in the village and two people injured in Avdiivka.

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, yesterday russians launched a missile attack on Konstiantynivka, injuring 4 people, damaging 19 private buildings, 10 apartment buildings, a boiler house, a gas pipeline and a power line.

Towards Volnovakha, Vuhledar was under attack twice, with no casualties.

Towards Donetsk, Rrssians damaged an agricultural enterprise in Lastochkyne of Ocheretyne community.

Towards Horlivka, a building was damaged in Chasiv Yar community.

Towards Lysychansk, Torske and Zarichne of Lyman community and Siversk were shelled with artillery, with no casualties or destruction.

Referring to Pokrovsk City Military Administration, 180 people applied for compensation for damaged property under the eRestoration programme. The Commission has already approved payments totalling UAH 8 million 819 thousand 921. Among them, more than UAH 2 million was paid to the owners of the housing damaged by a missile strike on 7 August. 

Kramatorsk City Military Administration informed that they have approved 359 applications for compensation for damaged or destroyed housing under the eRestoration programme, with the total amount of payments amounting to UAH 31.796,112.

Maksym Sutkovyi, Head of Donetsk Directorate of Ukrposhta, confirmed that the number of postages sent by entrepreneurs from Donetsk oblast has decreased by 10 times since the start of the full-scale war. There are 110 stationary and 18 mobile branches in the region, while 194 branches have been closed.   

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the enemy continues to attack Makiivka; four attacks on the territory near the village were repelled yesterday alone. The invaders shelled Bilohorivka and Nevske with artillery and mortars. After almost every such attack, several people are left without homes. Thus, two more buildings were destroyed in Nevske.

The invaders are not going to restore anything unless it is for filming propaganda stories. In Rubizhne, the local population is not promised any reconstruction at all, only at their own expense. In one of the houses, people decided to repair the roof on their own, they had enough money for half of the work. When they asked the occupation administration to complete the work or compensate the costs, they were refused.

Hospitals refuse to help adults because they are russian military hospitals. At the same time, parents of children with diabetes complain about the lack of glucose meters for monitoring glucose levels. The medicine of the so-called “lpr” does not meet even basic needs.

Roman Vlasenko, Head of Sievierodonetsk Regional Military Administration, stated that in the city the occupation authorities are installing several mini-boilers to heat the city council building, a school and several buildings, while other settlements in Sievierodonetsk region will not have centralised heating. The invaders promised to restore mobile communications and the Internet after the so-called ‘first elections’ but instead they are installing stationary devices. The enemy sees mobile communications as a threat to them.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

On the evening of October 8, in the capital, the flag of the State of Israel was broadcast on more than 350 digital advertising media and electronic information boards as a sign of solidarity of Ukrainians with the Israeli people, who have suffered aggression and are fighting for their country.

In Kyiv, a ceremony was held to hand over 15 mobile security classes to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which will work with children in the frontline and de-occupied regions of Ukraine. According to Ihor Klymenko, Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,  22 employees of the State Emergency Service and 22 police officers were trained to work together with teachers in these mobile security classes. The project is implemented with the help of UNICEF.

Kyiv RMA reported that Peter Wagner, Director of the Service of EU Foreign Policy Instruments, inspected how demining is proceeding in Ivankiv community. The military administration noted that the official “noted the progress” in the work on clearing debris and demining the community.

Kyiv RMA reported that construction of a new anti-radiation shelter has begun in Pereiaslav Lyceum No. 5 of Boryspil region. The construction of the building will provide an opportunity for full-time training in one shift of the entire educational institution, in addition, it can be used  by the population of the microdistrict if necessary. 

Kyiv RMA reported that 21 SUVs for the protection of the oblast were handed over to mobile fire groups of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which protect the population from air attacks by the russian occupiers. Funds for their purchase were raised as part of the Ukrainian Defense Project together with UNITED24.

Kyiv RMA reported that from October 9, shelters in preschool education institutions in Kyiv will be inaccessible to outsiders during the day. Shelters in such institutions can be used only by participants in the educational process.

Serhiy Popko, Head of KCMA, said that the ban on the movement of public transport in the capital continues during air alerts. As before, transport will take passengers to the nearest shelter, the transportation of people on planned routes during alarms is prohibited. Citizens’ petition with a request to resume the movement of buses, trams and trolleybuses during the air raid was rejected – this decision is due to security measures.

Zhytomyr oblast

The first Women’s Leadership Forum organized by the deputy group on gender issues Equal Opportunities from Zhytomyr Regional Council was held in Zhytomyr, on October 6-7, with the support of the National Democratic Institute (NDI). The forum is aimed at creating a mechanism of joint actions to overcome modern challenges, uniting women leaders of territorial communities of Zhytomyr oblast.

Nine-year-old Dominika Soldatiuk from Berdychiv has been painting and selling her paintings for more than a year – the girl gives the collected money to the needs of the military. She collected more than UAH 65 K to help the Armed Forces. Her mother and father help her create paintings, and the townspeople bring paints and brushes.

Sumy oblast

Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that in the morning, the russians shelled the Khotyn community, 4 mortar hits were recorded.

Over the past day, there were 5 border shelling attacks. The enemy made 34 strikes from artillery, aviation and SPG on the territories of Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka and Esman communities.

Sumy Regional Emergency Service reported that over the past week, pyrotechnicians discovered 21 explosive objects in the oblast. Artillery and rocket shells, mortar mines, anti-tank grenade rounds, cluster munitions for grenade launchers and hand grenades were among the discovered and destroyed arsenal. Dangerous finds were discovered in Sumy, Okhtyrka, Romny, Konotop and Shostka regions.

Chernihiv oblast

During the past day, the russians shelled the border of Chernihiv oblast 3 times from their territory. As reported in the State Security Service, there were 17 hits from mortars and barrel artillery. Semenivka and Horodnianka communities came under shelling.

During the week, the enemy shelled 13 border settlements of the oblast 29 times. As the head of Chernihiv RMA reported, there were 226 explosions during this period. The enemy carried out two airstrikes using a helicopter. As a result of the strikes, private houses and farm buildings were damaged.

Chernihiv RMA reported that over the past week, another 36 people temporarily left their homes due to russian shelling. The RMA heads together and the communities are creating places for their resettlement.

Ukrinform with reference to the page of the U-LEAD with Europe Program reported that Daniel Boucher, Drector of the German government company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, visited Chernihiv Secondary School No. 3, renovated with the support of U-LEAD. The school was damaged in August by a russian missile attack. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported about the meeting with Marek Baltem, a member of the European Parliament representing Poland and Lower Silesian Voivodeship. This region is an old friend and partner of Dnipropetrovsk oblast, they were the first to provide assistance to the region two weeks after the start of the full-scale invasion. At the meeting, they discussed the fields of support for the region at the level of the Committees of Industry, Energy and Public Health, where Mr Marek works. He is a member of the group of Polish deputies. This is 51 deputies out of 705 active in the European Parliament.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​ Vinnytsia secondary schools continue to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Vinnytsia Lyceum No. 10 hosted a solemn handover of two heating systems and packages with sweets, tea, coffee and personal drawings for the 171st Battalion. At the end of the patriotic marathon dedicated to the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, the children took part in a competition of military songs.

Vinnytsia oblast is participating in the Veteran’s Assistant pilot project of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs. During the week, 100 applications were accepted and 200 services provided. There are 12 veteran assistants in Vinnytsia. Workplaces for them were set up in administrative service centres. Veterans’ assistants visit rehabilitation centres, hospitals and institutions to reach more people so that veterans do not have to look for solutions to their problems on their own.

Volunteer Valerii Horbyk set up a workshop for making stoves for defenders. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, he has made more than 260 stoves. He welds up to 10 of them a day. The cost of one stove is UAH 600 and entrepreneurs and friends help with materials. Valerii will give another batch of 50 stoves to the volunteers of the Podilska Lastivka NGO. They will be delivered to the soldiers in Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk oblasts at the end of the week.

Kirovohrad oblast

Soldiers from three communities of Kirovohrad oblast were killed in the war with Russia.

On 5 October, a soldier of the A4576 military unit Mykola Dmytruk from Druzheliubivka, Dobrovelychhivka community, was killed during a combat mission at the front and was buried on 8 October. Viktor Zavalko, born in 1976, from the Tyshkivka community of Novoukrainka region was killed while performing a combat mission near Rivnopil village, Donetsk oblast. On 5 October, on the eve of his birthday, Ivan Bortnyk, born in 1994, from the Blahovishchensk community of Holovanivsk region, was killed during a combat mission near Verbove village, Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Poltava oblast

Dmytro Lunin, Head of Poltava Regional Military Administration, reported that at a regular staff meeting, important issues in various sectors of Poltava oblast were discussed, including out-of-school education. During the war, extracurricular activities became an educational space where children can not only get distracted but also develop in different directions. In the region, almost 3K clubs operate on the basis of out-of-school and general secondary education institutions. More than 53 thousand children attend them, better to pay attention to this and modernise our approaches to increase coverage.

Cherkasy oblast

One of the former kindergartens in Cherkasy was set up as accommodation for IDPs. Before that, the facility had been empty for twenty years. Cherkasy City Council allocated UAH 20 million for the reconstruction of the kindergarten. The necessary furniture and appliances were purchased by the Red Cross humanitarian organisation. The accommodation has all the amenities: furniture, appliances and individual bathrooms. The premises will be heated with air conditioning and heaters. Everything will be powered by electricity. The building will accommodate one hundred people. The accommodation will be provided free of charge but with certain conditions.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, russian military personnel carried out 77 strikes on 16 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. 74 artillery strikes targeted frontline cities and villages, including Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Novodanylivka, Preobrazhenka, Piatykhatky, Lobkove, and Stepove. The enemy also launched an aviation strike on Orikhiv and Robotyne and shelled Stepnohirsk with multiple rocket launchers. There have been 11 reports of damage to residential buildings and infrastructure objects. There were no casualties.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue their offensive operation towards Melitopol and have achieved partial success in areas west of Verbove in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Rocket troops and artillery units from the Tavriya Joint Forces Operation completed 795 fire missions in the past day. The total enemy losses amounted to 147 occupiers, 6 pieces of enemy military equipment, including 2 tanks, 3 armoured personnel carriers, and one artillery system. Additionally, 3 enemy ammunition depots were destroyed.

Starting from October 1, all Points of Invincibility have resumed their operations. After inspections, it was found that some facilities require additional equipment. Currently, responsible individuals are working on ensuring a stable internet and mobile communication, installing additional uninterruptible power supply devices, replenishing the existing reserve of medicines, water, and more.

Mykolaiv oblast

Serhii Shaikhet, Chief of the National Police in Mykolaiv oblast, reports that russian forces launched attacks on Kutsurub community. Houses of residents and other objects of civilian infrastructure in the village of Dmytrivka were damaged. There were no casualties. 

Mykolaiv City Council reports that the Central City Library named after Marko Kropyvnytskyi received 35 kilograms of literature (110 copies) from colleagues in Lutsk in October. Children’s literature, books for family reading about the history of the city of Lutsk, and various educational games are among the received books. These books will be transferred to the Ternivka branch, which was destroyed by russian shelling. 

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv oblast informs that the pyrotechnic units confiscated and destroyed 20,083 ammunition items through controlled detonation. 

Odesa oblast

Recently, the Odesa rescuers received five modern high-capacity pumping stations and two containers of equipment from the Howard G. Buffett Foundation (HGBF). According to the press-service of the SES in Odesa oblast, these stations are intended for continuous water supply in large volumes during firefighting and for pumping water in flood-prone areas.

Odesa’s emergency services also received new firefighting equipment. A Chevrolet Chevy Van cargo vehicle was donated to the rescuers by colleagues from Switzerland. According to the information provided by the emergency services, the vehicle is compact and arrives quickly at the scene of an incident, starting emergency response operations before the arrival of larger units. This was announced by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Odesa oblast.

Authorities of Odesa’s sister city, Regensburg, decided to assist Odesa with municipal transport not equipped for people with disabilities. They are donating ten Mercedes buses with low floors and ramps for wheelchair access to Odesa. The mayor of Odesa, Hennadii Trukhanov, traveled to Regensburg for this purpose. He met with representatives of the transport company Stadtwerk and the German charity organization Space Eye, assuring them that these buses would soon be put into service on Odesa’s routes.

A film about the defenders of Ukraine is being made in Odesa oblast. The movie, titled “Sword of Unity,” tells the story of the centuries-long struggle for freedom, from ancient times to the modern war for Ukraine’s independence. The project is being realized by a creative group with the support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and civil organizations, including #VeteransHubOdesa, as well as state institutions such as the South Branch of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, the Ukrainian Dramatic Theater named after Vasyl Vasylko, and South Ukrainian Pedagogical University named after Ushynsky. The cast includes both actors and veterans of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This is a volunteer project.

Kherson oblast

Today, russians shelled the village of Kindiika. Around 13:30, a 63-year-old woman inside a building was hit by enemy shelling. She was transported to the hospital in a moderately serious condition by an ambulance.

Around 10:30, occupying forces targeted one of the libraries in Kherson. A 55-year-old man received minor injuries.

Yesterday, the enemy conducted 53 shelling attacks, launching 288 projectiles from mortars, artillery, Grads, AGS, tanks, aircraft, and UAVs. The russians fired 96 shells at the city of Kherson. The enemy targeted residential areas of populated settlements in the region, a car park, and a critical infrastructure facility in Kherson, as well as the territory of a church in Kherson oblast. Due to the russian aggression, one person was killed, and 18 others wounded, including 2 children. In the past two days, the police opened 10 criminal cases related to war crimes committed by russian military personnel on the territory of Kherson oblast.

Police, along with volunteers, evacuated a woman with five children from the most heavily shelled area of Kherson. They found them in the basement of a neighbouring building, where they were hiding from russian shells. The children, aged from 1.7 to 14 years, were very frightened and did not want to stay amidst the explosions. Police seized a moment of calm and moved the mother and children to a safer location.

Nine children who were in temporarily occupied territory in Kherson oblast have been returned to Ukraine. This was reported by the head of Kherson RMA, Oleksandr Prokudin. In total, since the beginning of 2023, 121 children from Kherson oblast have been successfully brought back to Ukrainian-controlled territory.

Doctors of mobile clinics visited Orlove, Novovorontsovka, Vysokopillia, Kochubeiivka, and Novovoznesensk. Neurologists, ophthalmologists, gynecologists, otolaryngologists, psychiatrists, cardiologists, and family doctors provided consultations to 739 residents. 150 people had the opportunity to undergo ultrasound examinations, 135 had electrocardiograms, 30 underwent glucose level tests, and 102 took Pap tests. In addition, 62 residents received glasses and necessary medications.

15 tons of food products were delivered to the regional humanitarian headquarters by donors. The cargo consists of one and a half thousand boxes of wheat and pearl barley groats, flour, pasta, oatmeal, peas, oil, salt, and pates. The aid will be distributed among the communities of Kherson oblast according to the needs of their residents.

Over the course of a month, 67 children from Kherson, Novovorontsovka, Chornobaivka, and Dariivska communities will be enjoying a vacation in the Romanian city of Suceava. These are children who have been living in the areas along the front line since the full-scale war began.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Residents of Blahodativka in Kherson oblast received 150 stoves thanks to Volyn RMA and Swedish Aid Center.

Lutsk City Council held a meeting with family members of military personnel who gave their lives in the war against the russian invaders. Mayor Ihor Polishchuk presented state awards to the relatives of the fallen defenders.

A safety class was opened in the gymnasium of Movnyky village of Lytovese village council. In particular, this is the 58th security education center operating in Volyn. In total, 92 of them are planned to open. The classroom is divided into training areas and is equipped with dummy explosives, first aid, fire and road safety equipment, and overalls.

Zakarpattia oblast

Luhansk RMA reported that the humanitarian hub in Starobilsk provides services for IDPs from Luhansk oblast.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

From the oblast, 10 tactical medical backpacks worth EUR 1K each were sent to the medical company of one of the combat brigades, which opposes the aggressor in Donetsk oblast thanks to the Blau-Gelbes Kreuz e.V. German CF.

In Ivano-Frankivsk, a heroic tournament in memory of defender Volodymyr Buchynsky was held. Volodymyr was a senior sergeant, deputy commander of the rifle platoon of military unit A 4248. He was killed on February 14, 2023 while performing a combat mission.

Lviv oblast

Lviv IT Cluster directed UAH 2,5 mln to buy equipment for the military within the framework of the Guardian project. With these funds, multimedia equipment and components were purchased.

Fighters of the 103rd Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received high awards: Shield of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 3th degree For Faithful Service medals of the Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, awards of the head of the regional administration of the Forces of the Military Defense Forces West and honorary medals of the Territorial Defense Forces. They were handed over by Colonel Oleksandr Kiaho, Head of the regional department of the Western Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The book My War created by 16 journalists was presented in Lviv. The book includes essays about the horrors of russia’s war against Ukraine and discloses specific features of journalistic work in such conditions.

Emile de Sevren Jaquet, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in the Netherlands, came with a delegation to Lviv and met with Andrii Sadovyi, Mayor of Lviv. This year, the Netherlands will deliver 100K tulip bulbs of 15 new varieties and about 8K muscari to Lviv

In the village of Teisariv, Strii region, a memorial plaque to Ivan Nastunchyn, Hero from the village of Pchan, appeared on the facade of the local gymnasium. He was killed on May 1, 2023 while performing a combat mission near the settlement of Niu York, Donetsk oblast.

On the facade of the Zhydachiv School #2, a memorial plaque to defender Oleh Bezhlibiak was installed. He was killed on December 6, 2022, during a combat encounter with the enemy near the settlement of Opytne in Donetsk oblast.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that Rivne oblast is 100 percent ready for the heating season. In the oblast, repairs have been completed, an emergency stock of equipment created, and contracts concluded with suppliers at fixed preferential prices.

The RMA reported that psychological help is provided free of charge in 55 medical institutions of Rivne oblast. Over 80 specialists, including psychiatrists, psychologists and psychotherapists, are working there.

Ternopil oblast

The Red Cross Society sent 250 food kits and 500 hygiene kits to the families of fallen soldiers in Ternopil.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The exhibition Azov Regiment – Angels of Mariupol, dedicated to the fallen defenders of Ukraine, opened in Khmelnytskyi The exhibition presents 218 photos of Ukrainian soldiers who defended Mariupol. There are also their biographies, and awards they received for courage and bravery, mostly posthumously.

Chernivtsi oblast

Chernivtsi City Council reported that the staff of Kalynivskyi market purchased night vision devices and a thermal imager for a territorial defense unit.

In Bukovina, a department for veterans’ policy was established by Chernivtsi RMA. This will make it possible to implement an effective system of transition from military service to civilian life for defenders.

In the center of aesthetic education, Youth of Bukovyna, a charity art event called Chernivtsi – the City of my Strength was held. Students of the center presented bright performances, held various master classes, and collected UAH 7K.  Funds will be sent to the defenders together with the children’s drawings,.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, had a phone conversation with Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel. They discussed the impact of the attack on Israel on the security situation in the region and beyond.

Yuliia Svyridenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy, met with representatives of the UN Development Program. With the support of the UNDP, the Government of Ukraine is expanding and accelerating work on mine action, strengthening support for small and medium-sized businesses, implementing projects for the recovery of Ukraine and other priority areas.

Ukraine and Japan will create a working group to develop a strategy for the recovery of Ukrainian agriculture. This was discussed during the meeting of Markiyan Dmytrasevich, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, with Mizuno Mamayoshi, Director General of the Export and International Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan.

Yuliia Svyridenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economy of Ukraine, held a phone conversation with Lisje Schreynemacher, Minister of Foreign Trade and Cooperation for the Development of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. They discussed the issue of restoring Ukraine and expanding economic cooperation between two countries.

Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Denmark, stated that her country is working on “broadening and deepening” the coalition of countries that have pledged to supply Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets. “As long as Ukrainians are ready to wage this war for our freedom, let’s decide that there will be no war fatigue in our transatlantic community,” she said at the annual session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Copenhagen.

Andrzej Duda, President of Poland, stated that the situation in Israel distracts the world from the war in Ukraine. According to him, the attack of the terrorist group Hamas on Israel will contribute to the full-scale aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.
