It has been the 452nd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian forces launched 4 missile and 45 air strikes, and conducted more than 30 MLRS attacks. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed or damaged. The missile strikes on Ukrainian cities of Lyman, Sloviansk and Kostiantynivka involved several S-300 SAMs that aren’t high-precision systems, thus russia once again proves to be using terror tactics against our state. 

The threat of further missile and air strikes remains high across Ukraine. 

russia continues to concentrate its main efforts on Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka. During the day, 24 firefights took place there. Bakhmut and Marinka remain at the epicenter of hostilities.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the operational situation has not changed significantly.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, russia continues to maintain enhanced military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. russian sabotage and intelligence groups were reported to operate in several regions bordering russia. 

During the last day, Ukrainian settlements of Progres, Studenok and Mykhailivka (Sumy oblast); Udy, Hraniv, Zelene, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Pletenivka, Vovchansk, Nesterne, and Budarky (Kharkiv oblast) were subjected to cross-border mortar and artillery fire. 

Towards Kupiansk, russian forces made attempts to improve the tactical situation. During the day, the occupiers conducted unsuccessful offensive operations near Masyutivka. Kamianka, Kolodiazne, Krasne Pershe, Petro-Ivanivka, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Zapadne, Monachynivka, Masiutivka, Tabaivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast); Stelmakhivka (Luhansk oblast) were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Lyman, russian forces made unsuccessful attempts to advance towards Ivanodarivka. The vicinities of Nevske suffered several air strikes. Enemy artillery bombarded several Ukrainian settlements along the contact line, including Makiivka, Nevske, and Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast); as well as Torske, Verkhnokamianske, and Spirne (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, russian forces continue to conduct offensive operations. Battle for Bakhmut continues. russian troops made unsuccessful attempts to re-capture lost positions south of Ivaniovske. In addition, the occupiers led an unsuccessful offensive on Hryhorivka. Ukrainian defenders repelled all attacks. 

Air strikes took place towards Bakhmut and Ivanivske. Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Markove, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Bila Hora, and Niu York (Donetsk oblast) came under enemy fire. 

Towards Avdiivka, russian occupiers carried out unsuccessful offensive operations near Avdiivka and Pervomaiske. They carried out an air strike in the vicinities of Avdiivka. Novokalynove, Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, Sieverne, Pervomaiske, Karlivka, and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast) were subjected to artillery fire.

Towards Marinka, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled numerous enemy attacks near Marinka. The russian forces carried out airstrikes near Marinka and Novomykhailivka. Heorhiivka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast) came under fire. 

Towards Shakhtarsk, the russian military did not conduct any offensive operations. At the same time, russian occupiers carried out airstrikes in the vicinities of Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechistivka, Zolota Nyva, and Velyka Novosilka. 

Vodyane and Vuhledar suffered from artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, russian forces stayed on the defensive. At the same time, they continue to destroy Ukrainian settlements along the contact line, namely Vremivka, Burlatske, Novosilka, and Zelene Pole (Donetsk oblast); Olhivske, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Bilohiria, Mala Tokmachka, Mali Shcherbaky, and Kamianske (Zaporizhzhia oblast); Tiaghinka (Kherson oblast), and the city of Kherson. Stanislav (Kherson oblast) suffered from air strikes.   

Russia makes efforts to limit access of residents on the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson oblast to mobile communications. The occupiers dismantle substations, as well as relay towers. In addition, they limit movement of local residents to areas with a stable cellular connection.

The Ukrainian Air Force carried out 12 airstrikes on buildups of russian troops and military equipment, as well as 4 strikes on anti-aircraft missile systems.

3 enemy reconnaissance UAVs of various types were intercepted during the day.

Ukrainian rocket and artillery units attacked a buildup of russian weapons and military equipment, 2 ammunition depots, 2 artillery systems at firing positions and another important enemy target.


Hanna Maliar, Deputy Defense Minister, says that Ukrainian troops have semi-encircled Bakhmut. The enemy has to defend itself. Heavy fighting is still going on for the city. 

Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, informs that participants in the final session at the G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan, agreed on the arguments of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the Peace Formula. “The Ukrainian side clearly explained why the Peace Formula can only be Ukrainian – because the war is taking place on Ukrainian soil and it is Ukrainians who are fighting for their right to independence, territorial integrity, and a secure and successful future. The partners listened to us and agreed with the arguments of the President of Ukraine,” said Zhovkva.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that at least 21 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were shelled by the russian army with artillery and mortars,  namely Vovchansk, Berestove, and Masiutivka were hit.

An off-road vehicle with almost a ton of tools in the body was equipped by Kharkiv designers to restore military equipment. UAH 800 K was spent on the re-equipment. The bureau is currently working on four more mobile workshops.

A 12-year-old boy and a woman were injured in an accident near the village of Sheludkove in Valky community. They were hospitalized.

The press service of the State Emergency Service of Kharkiv oblast reported that a 61-year-old man was blown up on a mine in Kamianka, Izium region, on May 21. He lost his foot as a result of the explosion.

The enemy launched another missile attack on the village of Tsyrkuny, Kharkiv oblast. One of the missiles, a preliminary S-300 system, hit the ground, and another damaged a private house. A civilian man was injured. Now doctors are providing him with medical care. Emergency services are working on site.

Yesterday, the occupiers massively shelled settlements in Kharkiv, Kupiansk and Chuhuiv regions with artillery, mortars and aircraft.

The day before, the enemy struck Kharkiv with a kamikaze drone. An infrastructure facility was damaged. There were no casualties. The shelling of Kupiansk damaged the buildings of a civilian enterprise and a private house, causing fires. A 44-year-old man was hospitalized with injuries. In Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, shelling damaged private houses, outbuildings, garages, and destroyed 2 cars. Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of MLRS shelling in Lyman Pervyi village, Kupiansk region.

Mine danger remains high in the region. Yesterday evening in Nova Husarivka village, Izium region, a 39-year-old man was wounded and hospitalized as a result of a Peliustka mine explosion.

Demining is ongoing. Over the past day, SES pyrotechnicians inspected more than 8 hectares of territory and defused 137 ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

According to the General Staff, fighting continues for Bakhmut. russian troops also unsuccessfully advanced towards Bila Hora and launched rocket attacks on Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, and Druzhkivka.

The russian army did not advance towards Lyman, but unsuccessfully attacked Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Sievierne (near Avdiivka), Novomykhailivka (near Shakhtarsk) and Marinka.

According to Hanna Malyar, Deputy Minister of Defence, Ukrainian troops have taken Bakhmut under a semi-circumscribed position. They are advancing on the suburbs on the flanks. The enemy failed to surround Bakhmut and lost some of the dominant heights around the city.

Referring to Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the Ukrainian Army, Ukrainian troops are advancing on the flanks in the suburbs of Bakhmut and are approaching the city’s tactical encirclement. The control of a small part of Bakhmut by the Ukrainian Armed Forces provides an opportunity to enter the city in case the situation changes.

Vitaliy Barabash, Head of Avdiivka military administration, russian forces have been shelling Avdiivka from multiple rocket launchers and tanks. They carried out two air strikes on the city. As a result, one person was killed and four wounded.

According to Anastasia Medvedieva, Spokesperson for Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office, a man was killed in Chasiv Yar and two women wounded in Niu York and Heorhiivka as a result of russian shelling during the day.

Referring to Serhii Cherevatyi, Spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, russian troops fired 411 times towards Bakhmut and 576 times against Lyman and Kupiansk.

The day before, russians launched a missile attack on Kramatorsk, damaging two buildings of educational institutions and a depot building.

Towards Volnovakha, Vuhledar suffered 4 air strikes and 17 artillery attacks, with no casualties.

Towards Donetsk, 2 houses were damaged in Vovchenka of Kurakhove community. Sporadic shelling of Avdiivka and Ocheretyne community was recorded.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was killed in Predtechyno of Kostiantynivka community. 3 houses were destroyed in the village. Toretsk was hit by a rocket attack and massive shelling from Grads – 6 people were wounded, 11 high-rise buildings, 5 private houses, 2 shops, a hospital building, a pharmacy, a hangar and a boiler room were damaged. Two more buildings were damaged in Niu York. In Chasiv Yar community, 2 multi-storey buildings and 3 private houses were damaged. A school and at least 4 houses were damaged in Vasiukivka, Soledar community.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reports that russians killed one resident of in Predtechyne. Another 8 people in the region  oblast were injured.

Luhansk oblast

Yesterday, the occupiers opened fire on Nevske, Stelmakhivka, Makiivka and Bilohorivka. Air strikes were carried out near Bilohorivka and Dibrova.

The Luhansk Military AdministrationIn says that a woman was killed in the village of Nevske yesterday as a result of artillery shelling by russian troops. Currently, about 60 local residents remain in the village.

The enemy continues to use civilian medical facilities in the occupied territories for its own purposes. Thus, the occupiers turned the upper floors of Lutuhyne Regional Territorial Medical Association into a military hospital, and left the children’s department on the ground floor to cover it.

Currently, about 100 russian servicemen with injuries of varying severity are being treated in the medical facility. This number is the peak of the military hospital’s capacity to provide medical services.

The peak of absurdity is the forced passportisation of schoolchildren. First, they were threatened with not being allowed to take exams if they did not have a russian passport. Now they have been offered to issue certificates only with this document. Instead of preparing for the tests and subsequent admission, teenagers are forced to deal with bureaucracy and stand in long queues.

An operational headquarters for identifying land plots and territories for tourism activities has been established in the so-called ‘lpr’. It was reportedly formed to implement the Land for Tourism project. The headquarters will select the most suitable and attractive land plots for investors from those provided by the occupation administration. The russian military is mining the area around, while the so-called authorities are looking for places for tourism.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The commemoration service for the victims of the communist totalitarian regime was conducted at the Bykivnia Graves National Historical and Memorial Reserve near Kyiv. Based on the information provided by historians, the total number of people shot and buried in Bykivnia may range from 20 to 100 K. As of today, the names of over 18.5 K Ukrainians and about 3.5 K representatives of the Polish elite who are buried in Bykivnia have been identified.

Medical and psychological rehabilitation center for military is planned to be opened in Bila Tserkva. The founder of the American charitable foundation URGENT, Oleksandr Toporovsky, who visited the city, offered to help create it.

A pre-school facility for children of Bucha community is planned to be built in Vorzel on the location of the Lastivka kindergarten destroyed by the russians. Anatolii Fedoruk, Mayor of Bucha, reported that for this purpose, a Memorandum of Cooperation has already been signed with philanthropists who support the project.

Vitalii Kychko, Mayor of Kyiv, reported that in the first quarter, the capital budget has received more revenue than in the previous two years. According to him, in the first 4 months of 2023, the city budget gained almost UAH 3.6 billion more than in the same period in 2022, or UAH 3.8 billion more than in the first quarter of 2021. He noted that Kyiv is home to a number of companies that provide for military needs, and the IT business was the quickest to shift its focus to army needs.

The theatrical performance “Azovstal. Voices” was held in the capital on May 20, marking the anniversary of the Ukrainian military’s withdrawal from Azovstal. The story follows the defenders who held off the Russian attack in Mariupol for 86 days and focused the world’s attention to the events there. Today, with the help of a theatrical performance, actors speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.

An installation symbolizing resilience and faith of Ukrainian Azovstal POWs was unveiled on St. Sophia Square in Kyiv. According to the authors, the folded hands symbolize the heart from one side. From the other, the hands seem tense, as they usually are in a bound position.

The film Escape from the russians created by Slidstvo.info investigative journalists about two Ukrainian girls kidnapped by russians received a special award from the Bucha Journalism Conference held on May 19 in Bucha. The documentary tells the story of 16-year-old Masha and 18-year-old Nastia, who lived in Kherson and were tricked by russians into leaving their hometown, the conditions of their detention and the story of their rescue from russian captivity.

Zhytomyr oblast

Residents of Zhytomyr bring flowers and candles to the memorial sign To the Innocent Victims Slaughtered by the Communist-Bolshevik Regime in 1937-1938 to honor the memory of Bolshevik regime victims. According to Hennadii Makhorin, local historian, on September 25-27, 1938, about a thousand people of German, Polish, and other nationalities were brought to Zhytomyr. Some were sent to prison and deported, others executed by firing squads.

A thematic exhibition Believe, Wait, Love was opened in Zhytomyr to mark the anniversary of the Ukrainian military’s withdrawal from Azovstal. The exposition consists of two dozen portraits of Azovstal defenders, who were killed or are in russian captivity, as well as their wives, children, mothers, relatives and friends.

According to the results of implementation of the state program eRobota in 2023, 68 business plans from applicants of Zhytomyr oblast were approved. The Regional Employment Service reported that each will receive microgrants to start or develop a business for a total of UAH 16.2 million. The average grant amounts to about UAH 241 K. When implementing business projects, grantees will create 137 new jobs.

Sumy oblast

Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that on May 20, the russians shelled the border areas 7 times. Bilopillia, Khotin, Krasnopillia, and Yunakivka communities were subjected to shelling. In total, there were 56 explosions. As a result of artillery shelling, 2 private houses in Khotyn community were damaged.

In Sumy, community members gathered at the monument to pay tribute to the victims of communist repression. Svitlana Reviakina, Head of the All-Ukrainian Human Rights Organization Memorial, reported that in Sumy oblast, efforts to identify the names of the residents of the oblast who were shot and murdered in camps during the Great Terror continue. According to her, there have  been more than 20 K names of oppressed individuals identified so far.

More than 100 residents of Sumy oblast have applied for reimbursement of damaged housing under the eRestoration program launched on May 10. The support will be provided to people whose houses have been slightly damaged as a result of the war and not yet repaired. First of all, the program implies replacement of windows, doors, repairing roofs, etc. 

Chernihiv oblast

On May 20, the russian forces attacked the territory of Semenivka community with artillery and mortars. According to Chernihiv’s border guard detachment, the villages of Zarichchia, Halahanivka and Mykolaivka came under fire. In total, there were 16 shells fired from barrel artillery, and 5 bombs from 120-mm mortars.

The Northern Forestry Office reported that forest fires continue in Novhorod-Siverskyi region, which started about a week ago as a result of russian shelling. Due to the constant threat to human life and health, it is impossible to extinguish the fire using fire fighting equipment and personnel on the border of Semenivka community. Forest guards and the SESU units continue to contain forest fires by creating mineralized strips in forests and around nearby settlements.

The memory of political repression victims in Chernihiv oblast was honored at the memorial sign To the Victims of Repression of the 30s, 40s and Early 50s of the Twentieth Century near the village of Khaliavyn in Novyi Bilous community. This is the place where at least 4 K residents of the oblast who were tortured during the Great Terror are buried – the victims were executed by shooting in places of detention and taken to a secret burial site.

Another batch of humanitarian aid from France has arrived in Chernihiv oblast. Benefactors from the French ARASFEC Foundation loaded two large trucks with the necessary supplies. The aid includes equipment for Chernihiv’s geriatric nursing home, fire hoses for the State Emergency Service, clothing and food for IDPs.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

On 20 May, the russians shelled Nikopol and Chervonohryhorivka community with cannon artillery, and this morning they fired twice at Myrove community. A residential area of Nikopol was shelled. A  46-year-old woman was injured as a result of the shelling. She received the necessary medical assistance.

In Dnipro,  the Pattern of Victory race in embroidered shirts took place in Tunnelna Balka. The event was dedicated to the Day of Ukrainian Embroidery. About 200 residents of Dnipro took part in the competition.

Vinnytsia oblast

A unique photo exhibition “Unconquered South” was presented in Vinnytsia oblast. The exhibition consists of 33 photographs that show the war through the eyes of border guards, their life stories, and everyday life. The photographs were taken by both professional photographers and border guards.

Kirovohrad oblast

A bicycle race was organized in the city of Novomyrhorod, Kirovohrad oblast. The event aimed to encourage children and young people to adopt a healthy lifestyle and to show that it is possible to do good things together. During the ride, they raised money for wounded soldier Valerii Trofymenko from Novomyrhorod. More than 50 people took part in the event, the youngest participant being four years old and the oldest 59. Participants and passers-by joined in the fundraising. The money raised was handed over to Valerii Trofymenko’s wife.

Poltava oblast

On 22 May, more than a hundred children aged 4 to 17 will perform the “The Connection” play  at the Poltava Culture and Leisure Centre. All the money raised will be used to buy night vision devices for the 116th separate territorial defense brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Poltava. The show will feature choreographic performances created by the children themselves.

Cherkasy oblast

On 20 May, it was a year since the defenders of Mariupol finally left Azovstal. The relatives of prisoners of war, missing and killed soldiers marched in Cherkasy. According to the organizers, they will keep on reminding about the defenders and seek their release until the last soldier returns from captivity. Since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion, 2324 Ukrainian soldiers have been returned from russian captivity. More than 500 of them are defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

On May 20, the russists shelled 18 villages and cities near the front line 84 times, launching 68 artillery strikes on Stepnohirsk, Kamianske, Charivne, Bilohiria, Malynivka, 7 rocket attacks on Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, Huliaipilske, Mala Tokmachka, 8 UAV attacks on Shcherbaky, Mali Shcherbaky, Charivne, and an airstrike on Olhivske. The enemy attacked Orikhiv with artillery and rockets, and also used prohibited incendiary ammunition on residential areas. They targeted Huliaipole with artillery fire, rockets, and UAVs. During the day, there were 100 reports of civilian infrastructure destruction, including damaged summer cottages, residential buildings, utility structures, vehicles, a shop, a place of worship, and agricultural machinery.

On May 20, and today, May 21, explosions occurred in Berdiansk in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The defense forces struck the enemy’s military bases. According to Viktoria Halitsyna, Head of the Berdiansk military administration, both targets were hit. The enemy suffered losses in personnel, and there were hits on their ammunition depots.

According to the General Staff, russian occupiers are converting educational institutions in temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine into military medical facilities. A school in the village of Azov in Zaporizhzhia oblast and a preschool educational institution in the village of Hladkivka in Kherson oblast have been transformed into field hospitals. Approximately 50 occupiers with varying degrees of injuries are receiving treatment there.

Mykolaiv oblast

On May 20, the forces of the russian federation shelled the settlement in Kutsurub village community. A private house was damaged. They also targeted the coastal strip and waters of Ochakiv in Mykolaiv oblast. According to Mykolaiv RMA, there have been no reported casualties or injuries.

On May 20, over 100 humanitarian aid packages were distributed to the families of prisoners of war and missing persons in Raketne Urochyshche microdistrict of Mykolaiv. Volunteers organized the assistance at a Mykolaiv church, where a new distribution point was set up.

A resident of Mykolaiv, Victoria Sokil, created a model of the world’s largest aircraft, Mria, and put it up for sale to buy three vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Victoria has a disability and uses a wheelchair. She crafts wooden products and since 2014, she has decided to dedicate her hobby to supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Odesa oblast

According to the ‘South’ Operational Command, russian military forces have deployed two missile-carrying submarines with eight Kalibr missiles in the Black Sea.

The Pivdenny port has been halted due to the actions of the russian federation, which refuses to inspect the vessels heading towards it. Over the course of three days, from May 19 to 21, the aggressor country did not allow any ships to enter the deepest port in Odesa oblast. The port has been suspended due to the lack of a fleet. In essence, russia is preventing its participation in the “Grain Initiative,” which is another gross violation of the signed agreement. Thus, russia has found a new way to reduce the effectiveness of the Grain Agreement and, consequently, the export for the world’s needs.

The residents of Odessa continue to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine with delicacies. Employees of the social service center of Kyiv district and teachers from School No. 27 have prepared over 400 pizzas for the Air Defense Forces. The pizzas, packaged in boxes with gratitude notes for the soldiers’ bravery, have already been delivered to the air defense units of Odesa oblast.

Kherson oblast

On May 21, around 12:00,the russian military once again shelled the village of Kozatske. A local resident sustained life-threatening injuries. According to preliminary information, the occupiers carried out an artillery shelling, damaging houses and outbuildings.

Due to a nighttime strike with guided aerial bombs in Stanislav, 12 residential buildings, a cultural center, a shop, and two other civilian structures were damaged. No civilians were injured.

On May 20, russian occupiers shelled residential areas in Kherson oblast 63 times, firing 314 shells from artillery, multiple rocket launchers, mortars, tanks, drones, and aviation. The enemy attacked Kherson twice, firing 7 shells at the city. Two people were killed and two others injured due to russian aggression.

The situation remains difficult and tense according to the ‘South’ Operational Command. The enemy continues to fortify defensive lines and maneuver forces and assets on the occupied left bank. Counter-battery operations along the front line continue.

The enemy continued active aerial reconnaissance and attempted to use strike drones like Lancet. Yesterday, 5 enemy UAVs were destroyed: 3 Lancets, 1 Merlin-VR, and 1 Orlan-10 in the sky over Mykolaiv and Kherson oblasts. Also, 16 occupiers were liquidated, along with a Grad multiple rocket launcher system, a large-caliber howitzer, 2 units of automotive equipment and ATGMs, and a field supply point was destroyed.

Yesterday, a tractor was blown up on a landmine in the field in Chornobaivka community. A civilian tractor operator was injured.

russian military is preparing a training ground to train recently mobilized soldiers on Dzharylhach Island, the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson oblast. This was reported by Natalia Humeniuk, Head of the joint press centre of the Defence Forces of Ukraine’s south. According to her, the russian armed forces are looking for locations on the island that they consider relatively safe, as they believe it is a distance that is currently out of reach for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Residents of Tomaryne village received building materials from volunteers for emergency repairs of damaged houses. The assistance is provided by the UNHCR Ukraine – the UN Refugee Agency in Ukraine. In total, this year volunteers have already provided 1,700 sets of construction materials for the settlements in Beryslav community.

Kherson RMA reported that Radio Promin, a music radio station, has resumed broadcasting in Beryslav region.

Volyn oblast

Military brothers of the deceased Hero from Volyn’s brigade made his daughter’s dream come true. The daughter of Oleksandr Vasiliev, Irynka Vasiliev, received a military uniform she had been dreaming about. “She proudly wears a unifom, the chevrons of our brigade… and her father’s orders… In fact, Irynka is one of us, our Angel, to whom we are infinitely grateful for her childlike wisdom and determination, for her sincere heart and help!” – they say in the brigade.

Zakarpattia oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Concerts of the Road to Victory charity tour took place in Kalush. The purpose of the concert tour is to raise funds for the support of the 102nd Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Lviv oblast

Two more evacuation trains with 67 people from the war zone of Zaporizhzhia oblast have arrived in Lviv oblast. Among them are mothers with children, elderly people, and those with disabilities. They are in a difficult psychological state. Since the beginning of May, over 2,5 K people have been evacuated to Lviv oblast.

In the village of Berezhnytsia, Strii region, memorial plaques were opened on the facade of the school to defenders of Ukraine Ihor Kapustynskyi and Volodymyr Stasiuk. Ihor Kapustinsky was killed near Stepanivka in Donetsk oblast on July 30, 2022. Volodymyr Stasiuk was killed near Bakhmut in Donetsk oblast on December 25, 2022.

Rivne oblast

In Rivne oblast, 500 conscripts received armor from mobilization. These are employees of enterprises that perform mobilization tasks, produce for the needs of the Armed Forces and are critically important for the oblast.

Ternopil oblast

The first group of rescuers from Ternopil oblast successfully completed an intensive course on drone control. After the training, the participants received certificates that will allow them to professionally use unmanned aerial vehicles during search operations and liquidation of emergency situations.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

A charity bike ride in memory of Vitalii Polishchuk took place in Khmelnytskyi. Almost 150 cyclists with blue and yellow flags rode through the central streets of the city. Vitalii Polishchuk has been defending Ukraine since February 24 as part of the 106th separate brigade of the Khmelnytsky Territorial Defense and was killed on May 9, 2022, during artillery fire in eastern Ukraine. In memory of Vitalii and all the fallen Ukrainian defenders, there was a bike ride and a city-wide fundraising event to buy 1K kamikaze drones.

Chernivtsi oblast

Vyzhnytskyi City Council reported that a commemorative bas-relief will be erected to the military from Bukovyna, Petrov Kovaliuk, who was killed in the war. It will be erected near the lyceum where he worked as a teacher.

The USA announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine, which includes additional ammunition for HIMARS systems, artillery shells, thermal imaging and bridge systems, TOW anti-tank guided missiles, Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems, armored medical vehicles, trucks and trailers for transporting heavy equipment, spare parts and other field equipment.

Salome Zurabishvili, President of Georgia, announced a boycott of the airline that started flights to russia. “I will refrain from using the board while it is in the hands of Georgian Airways,” Zurabishvili said, urging Georgian citizens to join the boycott.
