What happened in Ukraine today:

The russian federation continues to wage an aggressive war. Despite significant losses, russia refuses to abandon plans for the complete occupation of Ukrainian territory. The russian army continues to violate the laws and customs of war, employing tactics of terror and striking both military and civilian targets.

Russian troops launched another missile and air strike on Ukraine, utilizing 16 air-launched cruise missiles, the Kh-101/Kh-555, and 4 Iranian strike UAVs Shahed, targeting critical infrastructure facilities in Kharkiv oblast and residential buildings in Kryvyi Rih.

Through the efforts of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 11 cruise missiles and one strike drone were destroyed.

Furthermore, the russian army carried out 29 airstrikes and approximately 20 artillery barrages using multiple rocket launch systems against Ukrainian positions and civilian settlements. There have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population, as critical infrastructure, residential buildings, and other civilian and administrative infrastructure have been destroyed and damaged.

The probability of missile and air strikes throughout the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

Russian army continues to concentrate its main efforts on Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions, where heavy fighting persists. Within a day, there were 22 military clashes.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there are no significant signs of russian formations detected. Belarus continues to support the armed aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine and train separate russian units on its territory.

Tiwards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas with Ukraine. Within a day, they conducted mortar and artillery shelling of populated areas in Karpovychi, Chernihiv oblast, Novovasylivka, Seredyna-Buda, Atynske, Bilopillia, Pavlivka, Obodi, Sumy Oblast, as well as Ivashky, Udy, Strilecha, Lukyantsi, Izbitske, Starytsia, Synelnykove, Ohirtseve, Hatysche, Vovchansk, Budarky, and Vilkhuvatka in the Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, russian troops carried out an aviation strike in the vicinity of Krokhmalnyi, Kharkiv oblast. Artillery and mortar shelling targeted Kamianka, Topoli, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zakhidne, Kupiansk, Kyslivka, Berestove in the Kharkiv Oblast, and Novoselivske in the Luhansk Oblast.

Towards Lyman, the russian army conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the areas of Vesele and Rozdolivka. They carried out airstrikes on populated areas in Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast, and Vesele, Donetsk oblast. Artillery shelling affected Nevske, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk oblast, and Yampolivka, Torske, Serebrianka, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, the russian army conducted unsuccessful offensive actions towards Orikhovo-Vasylivka and Bila Hora. They carried out airstrikes in the areas of Hryhorivka and Sukha Balka, Donetsk oblast. The districts of Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Druzhba, Toretsk, Pivdenne in the Donetsk oblast were affected by russian artillery shelling.

Towards Avdiivka, russian soldiers did not conduct any offensive actions. They launched an airstrike in the area of Avdiivka and conducted artillery shelling of areas near Avdiivka, Severne, Vodyane, Pervomaiske, Netaylove, and Karlivka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Mariinka, Ukrainian troops repelled all 14 russian attacks in the area of the city of Mariinka. At the same time, the russian army conducted an airstrike within the settlement. They carried out artillery shelling in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Mariinka, Hеorhiivka, Maksymilianivka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Shakhtarsk, russian soldiers conducted an airstrike in the areas of Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, and Velyka Novosilka. They also shelled the populated areas of Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Shakhtarske, Velyka Novosilka, Storozheve, and Blahodatne, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the russian army continues defensive actions. They carried out an airstrike in the area of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia oblast. Artillery shelling targeted populated areas, including Vremivka, Novopil, Donetsk oblast; Levadne, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Zherebianske, Kamianske, Zaporizhzhia oblast; Zmiivka, Kozatske, Mykolaivka, Virivka, Inzhenerne, Zelenivka, Antonivka, Bilozirka, Dniprovske, Kizomys, Kherson oblast, and the city of Kherson.

In the flooded Hola Prystan, russian troops maintain their presence and shell evacuation points while accusing units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of being liable for the attacks. Meanwhile, the so-called occupational authorities force the local population to thank on camera the Ministry of Emergency Situations (russia) for the alleged rescue and evacuation. However, throughout this time, people without receiving any assistance from the russian occupying authorities were forced to rescue each other on their own. After the situation stabilizes and the water recedes, people return to the city and witness looting and plundering of their own homes by russian military.

The aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted 11 strikes on russian personnel buildup areas and 3 strikes on air defense missile complexes.

Rocket forces and artillery units of the Ukrainian army targeted russian command post, 3 personnel concentration areas, weapons, military equipment, ammunition depots, air defense missile complex, artillery unit in a firing position, air defense system, and radio-electronic warfare station, inflicting damage within a day.

This was announced by the general director of Ukrhydroenergo PJSC Ihor Syrota, as a result of russians undermining the Kakhovka HPP, water will not flow to Crimea for a year. This is happening amid the low water level in the Kakhovka reservoir.

Cholera and Escherichia coli were detected in  Kherson oblast as a result of the explosion by the occupiers of the Kakhovka HPP. Tests are carried out by the SES, which monitors the sanitary-epidemiological situation. They also noted that water from the wells can be used only after they are cleaned and samples are tested in the laboratory.


Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian troops launched an air strike near Krokhmalne: Kamianka, Topoli, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupiansk, Kyslivka, Berestove were under artillery and mortar attack.

So far, almost 5K hectares of land have been cleared of mines in Kharkiv oblast and 95K explosive devices have been defused. 32 pyrotechnic teams of the State Emergency Service are working on de-mining at an increased pace. This includes 160 specialists and 64 pieces of equipment.

Priority is given to critical infrastructure facilities. More than 2.2 thousand kilometres of power lines, over 267 kilometres of gas pipeline, 18 kilometres of water pipelines, 870 kilometres of roads and over 178 kilometres of railway tracks have been cleared of mines.

Viktor Kovalenko, head of the Zolochiv Military Administration said that there were two mortar attacks in Ivashky border settlement at 10 am and 1:30 pm. According to him, russian troops have been shelling the settlement for five days in a row and a private building was destroyed by a direct hit.

Last night, the enemy attacked Kharkiv with Shahed drones. The facade of a building in Kyiv district was damaged. A fire broke out in a warehouse in Saltiv district. A drone hit a car. Preliminary, there were no casualties.

Press service of the Kharkiv Regional State Emergency Service said that rescuers extinguished a fire in a warehouse in Saltiv district as a result of a night attack by Russian forces for almost five hours. The area of the fire was about 1,000 square metres.

Yesterday, the enemy shelled settlements in Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Chuhuiv and Bohodukhiv regions with cannon artillery, MRLs, mortars and aircraft.

Serhii Starikov, head of the Shevchenkove Military Administration, citing police data reported that at least 43 residential buildings, a gas pipeline and a shop building were damaged as a result of a Tornado attack on Shevchenkove village, Kupiansk oblast. According to him, the damaged gas pipeline has already been restored. A 33-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman were hospitalized with injuries.

In Ivashky village, Bohodukhiv region, the shelling damaged the building of an elevator.

Yesterday, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service defused 233 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

Hanna Maliar, Deputy Minister of Defence reported that yesterday Ukrainian troops advanced by 250 metres towards Bakhmut and 200 metres towards Toretsk. She also noted that for the last week Ukrainian troops took control of 16 square kilometres towards Bakhmut.

Hostilities continue in Marinka, Yahidne (Bakhmut) and Vesele (Lyman).

Valerii Shershen, a spokesman of the Tavriisk Defence Forces said that troops are trying to regain control of Makarivka, which was liberated near Velyka Novosilka. They are destroying the village with shelling.

Ukrainian servicemen evacuated a russian tank from Sukha Kamianka, a village on the border of Kharkiv and Donetsk oblasts. It was hit last year during the battle for Izium and the soldiers will use the surviving parts to repair tanks used by the Ukrainian army.

Towards Volnovakha, in Velyka Novosilka community, 1 person was injured in Bahatyr and 2 buildings damaged in Shakhtarsk.

Towards Donetsk, Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka and Katerynivka in Marinka community were shelled with artillery. In Kurakhove community, 3 buildings were damaged in Kurakhivka and 2 in Kurakhove. Zhelanne of Ocheretyne community was hit by an air strike.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was killed and 2 injured in Kostiantynivka and 6 buildings damaged. In Toretsk community, 2 buildings were damaged: in Pivnichne and Niu-York. In Chasiv Yar community, 3 buildings were damaged. In Vasiukivka, Soledar community, buildings on two streets were damaged.

Towards Lysychansk, 4 buildings were damaged in Lyman community: 2 in Torske and 2 in Zarichne.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration reported that yesterday russians killed 1 civilian in Kostiantynivka. Another 5 people were injured in the region.

Luhansk oblast

Almost every day, with few exceptions, russians attack Bilohorivka. They lose personnel and equipment and retreat. The next morning or evening, the same thing happens. Our soldiers have been reliably defending there for many months. The enemy sees the inaccessibility of Ukrainian positions, so it is increasingly using aviation; the enemy attacked Novoselivske with artillery yesterday. Dibrova, Nevske and Bilohorivka also were under artillery attack.

The invaders continue to use civilian infrastructure to provide medical aid to their injured.

Luhansk Regional Military Administration informed that the enemy set up another hospital in Mistky and even assault units are deserting in Luhansk region.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

 According to Serhii Popko, Head of the Kyiv city military adminiastration, the enemy used X-101/555 cruise missiles to attack Kyiv last night. All enemy targets above the capital area were destroyed by Ukrainian air defence.

According to Head of the regional military administration Ruslan Kravchenko, more than 17,000 hectares of dangerous territory have been identified in the Kyiv region, which will take at least 30 years to fully demine, according to preliminary estimates.  Pyrotechnics have already defused almost 210,000 explosive objects. In the oblast, 4,690 facilities, almost 2,400 km of roads, 172 km of railway tracks, and 1,504 km of power lines have been inspected.

The First Lady of Ukraine met with children who revealed personal heroism during the full-scale Russian war. At the Children-Heroes meeting in Kyiv, Olena Zelenska spoke to young Ukrainians who saved their loved ones, helped the Armed Forces, or recovered from severe injuries.

Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko said that the number of modular ground shelters needed and the places to install them are being established. The heads of districts will provide information on the necessity of installing such modules on the territories of schools and kindergartens with no underground shelters. According to the plan, the city is to allocate UAH 300 million for the purchase and installation of 200 to 250 modular concrete shelters.

The Kyiv underground has received another batch of railcars from Warsaw. According to the metro, these cars will be used as “technical donors” to replace equipment, components and parts of the existing fleet of cars when they are repaired. In total, the Warsaw metro is to hand over 60 cars to the Kyiv metro by the end of 2023.

In Kyiv, the Patron Pet centre has set up a volunteer animal protection hub for dogs and cats taken from Kherson. Currently, it houses 75 animals that suffered from the russian military’s blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. Almost all of the rescued animals are domesticated and have owners, so the first priority is to find owners who have lost their animals but want to return them.

Kyiv residents are encouraged to adopt animals from the temporary shelter ‘Vystavkovyi Tsentr’. Almost 30 animals were adopted over the weekend. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, animals arriving at municipal veterinary clinics from Kherson oblast are transferred to the shelter after examination, necessary vaccinations, and treatment.

The film tells the story of teenagers growing up in eastern Ukraine amidst the war, who do not give up and try to follow the call of their dreams despite the grim reality around them.

Zhytomyr oblast

Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion, eight thousand Ukrainian soldiers have been treated in a hospital in Zhytomyr oblast. According to the hospital’s administration, 90 % of the soldiers are treated for musculoskeletal injuries, traumatic brain injuries, acubarotrauma, and stress-related diseases.

Major reconstruction of the bridge over the Dubovets River in the Zhytomyr region, which was partially damaged at the start of the full-scale invasion, is underway. According to the Regional Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service, after traffic was reopened on the renovated part of the artificial structure, dismantling of the left-hand lane was immediately started. The major repairs are being carried out in stages to keep the traffic running.

“Grandma’s Battalion” continues to support Ukrainian soldiers. Zhytomyr volunteers have made and sent 100 bandanas and the same number of balaclavas and mosquito covers to the military. They have already sewn 60 pillows out of 100 planned for the IDPs.

Sumy oblast

The RMA reported that the occupiers fired on 7 border communities in Sumy oblast, striking their territories 55 times, on June 12. The Yunakivka, Esman, Krasnopillia, Vorozhba, Nova Sloboda, Bilopillia, and Velyka Pysarivka communities were shelled. The russians fired from mortars, cannon artillery, self-propelled artillery systems, and multiple rocket launchers. In the Esman region, a private enterprise’s production facilities and a power line were damaged. Another power line was damaged by occupation shelling in  Velyka Pysarivka, damaging a private house and a garage. 

At night and in the morning, the russian military again attacked the border of Sumy oblast – there were 27 explosions. The Bilopillia community was shelled with mortars – 16 attacks – and cannon artillery – 5 blasts: the roof of the assembly hall of a psychoneurological orphanage caught fire, and 135 children had to be evacuated to safe places. The enemy fired 4 mines at Seredyna-Buda, damaging a shop. The occupiers dropped 2 more mines on the territory of the Esman community.

Volunteers from Sumy brought four rescued dogs from Kherson – two of them were rescued from a locked apartment and two were picked up from the streets. Volunteer Kateryna Andrieieva, the organiser of the trip, went to Kherson with the team the day after the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station was blown up. She reported that many animals were drowned, many animals were taken out, they were all stressed. Many volunteers came from all regions of Ukraine.

In the Sumy region, the UOC raised money to help residents of the Kherson oblast. In a few days, the parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church raised UAH 223,000 to help people affected by the flooding.   

Trostyanets received 93 sets of metal-plastic windows from Luxembourg Red Cross. The windows are intended to restore homes that were damaged during enemy shelling of residential areas.

Chernihiv oblast

The “North” Operational Command the occupiers fired on the village of Karpovychi in the Semenivka community in Chernihiv oblast In the morning. There were 6 hits, presumably from a mortar. Five residential buildings were damaged.

The National Guard of Ukraine reported that there are 16 residents of Chernihiv oblast among the Ukrainians released from captivity on 11 June. Among the prisoners held at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant, 16 residents of Chernihiv oblast. Currently, more than 100 National Guardsmen from the Chernihiv oblast are held in russian captivity.

Mena City Council that a charity fair was held in the city of Mena in Chernihiv oblast. The residents raised UAH 13,000 for the needs of the Armed Forces by selling handmade goods, paintings, patriotic souvenirs, and various delicacies, as well as masterclasses and a patriotic concert.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

On the night of 13 June, the occupiers attacked Kryvyi Rih. The occupiers hit a multi-storey building. 11 people were killed as a result of the shelling.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that a rocket attack on a warehouse building where bottled water was stored and sent to victims of the terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station caused a fire over an area of 60 square metres. The bodies of 7 people were found there, and the rescue operation is now complete.

The shelling damaged and disconnected main power grids in Dnipropetrovsk oblast. More than 9,000 people are deprived of electricity. In Kryvyi Rih, three coal mines were left without power, and several dozen people were trapped inside. The miners were later rescued. The blast wave also damaged the building of the Kryvyi Rih thermal power plant.

The russian army attacked the settlements of Pokrovsk village and Marhanets TC. No casualties. 

As a result of a missile attack by the occupiers on a residential building in the Metallurgical district of Kryvyi Rih at night, law enforcement officers temporarily blocked traffic on Heroiv ATO Street.

The police have set up a mobile unit where residents of Kryvyi Rih can report damaged property. The mobile station was set up near the site of the attack in Kryvyi Rih. Residents affected by the missile strike can apply here. The police document the consequences of another russian terrorist attack.

The authorities of the Dnipropetrovsk oblast will provide financial aid of UAH 300,000 each to the families of those killed in a russian missile strike in Kryvyi Rih. Rescuers, utility workers, and volunteers are currently working at the site of the missile strike. International charitable organisations have deployed humanitarian missions.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​During the war, Vinnytsia oblast became a leader in residential construction. In January-March 2023, 342.4 thousand m2 of total residential space was commissioned in the region, which is 5.6 times more than in the same period of the previous year. Since the beginning of 2023, developers in Vinnytsia have commissioned 56.8 thousand m2 of total residential area, which is 16.6% of the total regional residential construction.

Vinnytsia oblast and the Lodz Voivodeship agreed to establish a permanent representative office.

40 tonnes of humanitarian aid was sent from Vinnytsia oblast to Kherson. It included drinking water, long-storage food, clothes, hygiene products, bed linen, blankets, mattresses, disinfectants and water purification tablets, a mobile water treatment plant for drinking water supply under martial law and emergency situations, Esosoft OASIS C300, motor pumps, gas heaters, gas burners and cylinders, inflatable boats, rubber boots, animal food and other supplies.

Kirovohrad oblast

Kirovohrad oblast introduces a special silence regime following the example of Kyiv. The operation of agricultural machinery, production facilities, machines, and devices is prohibited until the alert is over.

Poltava oblast

As a result of another prisoner exchange, Ukraine returned home 95 people, including soldiers of the Armed Forces, the National Guard and border guards. Among the released prisoners of war are two soldiers from Poltava region: soldier Andrii Hrytsenko and senior soldier Kostiantyn Nevdakh.

Cherkasy oblast

A new application, the IDP Service Map, was launched in Cherkasy to facilitate social adaptation and integration for people seeking refuge in Cherkasy during martial law. The application was developed by the Institute for Urban Development and Digital Transformation. Nadiia Ivashkova, Director of the Institute, demonstrated the algorithm of the application and invited representatives of NGOs to provide more detailed information about services and contacts for the new map. The new map will include a section on schools, kindergartens, and cultural institutions of the city.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

An IAEA mission headed by Director General Rafael Grossi is heading to Zaporizhzhia NPP to get a more accurate assessment of the situation at the plant after the russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. The IAEA Director General explained that the fall of water in the tanks at ZNPP is a serious situation, and there is a limit beyond which it will be impossible to pump it from the reservoir to the site. Grossi also plans to assess and make recommendations on the discrepancy between the actions of the russians who control ZNPP and Ukraine’s instructions, in particular on the issue of putting the power units into a “cold shutdown”.

A 44-year-old resident of the village of Zaliznychne died as a result of shelling by the russian military in Zaporizhzhia region. 

The National Police reported, a 64-year-old resident of the district center sustained shrapnel wounds as a result of shelling by the russian army of the Gulyaypil community in Zaporizhzhia region.

Over the past day, June 12, russian troops fired on 14 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region. Two people were killed and two were injured.

In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed a russian TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower multiple rocket launcher system.

According to Petro Kotin, President of Energoatom, despite the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, the water level in the ZNPP cooling pond is 16.67 meters, which is sufficient to cool the power units. The hydroelectric power plant is now separated and exists as a lake with a depth of 11.2 meters, which is not connected to the reservoir. If necessary, water will be taken from there.

Mykolaiv oblast

On June 12, at 12:32, the enemy launched artillery strikes on the waters of the Ochakivska community. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties, reported the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

In the Mykolaiv region, the water level is decreasing, but 400 hectares of forests and 31 settlements remain flooded. Thanks to the selfless work of rescuers, medics, police, and volunteers, who often operate under Russian shelling, people and animals are being rescued. Ukraine is also grateful to its international partners who have already responded to the disaster, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, and others. A total of 13 countries are assisting Ukraine under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism. This includes dozens and hundreds of boats, rafts, motor pumps, generators, containers, water tanks, filters, and many other essential items.

Brooks Newmark, the co-founder of the Angels for Ukraine charity foundation, visited Mykolaiv, where they discussed the establishment and arrangement of shelters, as well as the opening of child development centres.

During the visit, Miguel Angel Gutiérrez Vivas, a member of the Spanish Congress, Carlos Fernández, founder of Help to Ukraine, and Vasyl Petro, founder of the United for Victory charity foundation, handed over a modern ambulance. Along with the vehicle, two lung ventilators, medical clothing, medicines, and personal protective equipment were also donated to meet the needs of Mykolaiv Oblast.

Odesa oblast

“In the Odesa region, the threat of missile strikes and kamikaze drone attacks from the enemy remains high, as they continue to utilize various types of weapons and combine destructive methods. In the Black Sea, the occupiers are maneuvering their naval forces and assets. The most recent rotation of missile carriers occurred last night, with a submarine reaching its basing point and a frigate equipped with eight ‘calibres’ being deployed for duty. Currently, there are five Russian ships at sea,” stated the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

Odesa’s beaches have transformed into extensive garbage dumps, as the coastal zone is littered with debris, branches, and garbage brought by the current from the disaster area in the Kherson region. The hydroelectric dam destroyed by the Russian military instantly devastated the lives of thousands of people. Powerful water currents carried away all their belongings into the river and eventually into the sea, demolishing their homes. Now, in Odesa, we witness the grim consequences of this large-scale terrorist act and the wreckage of what was once a peaceful life.

The Odesa region has signed a cooperation agreement with another foreign partner. The German state of Bremen has allocated the first tranche of aid to Odesa Oblast, amounting to 718 thousand euros. The funds will primarily be utilized to support orphans and facilitate the rehabilitation of the military. Furthermore, they will be used to attract German companies to the region.

In just a few days, Odesa residents managed to gather over 300 tonnes of humanitarian aid for the Kherson region. All districts of the Odesa region actively participated in providing this vital assistance. Within a span of four days, they collected approximately 300 tonnes of drinking water, boats, motor pumps, food, clothing, medicines, household equipment, hygiene products, and specialized equipment for rescuers. Additionally, a 10-member rescue team was dispatched to the Kherson region.

Kherson oblast

Saviano Abreu, spokesman for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, announced that the UN has been working with the governments of Ukraine and russia to gain access to all civilians affected by the flooding after russia’s explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. The organization has boats, personnel and supplies to help the victims. But russia does not provide security guarantees to cross the front line. Therefore, the UN promises to continue providing assistance only in the territory controlled by Ukraine. 

As of 12.00 on June 13, the average water level in Kherson region is 2.54 meters.  48 settlements are flooded: 31 on the right bank and 17 on the left.

According to Viktor Vitovetsky, Director of the Department for Organization of Civil Protection Measures of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the area of flooding in the Kherson region has been halved due to the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. The water level will be falling for two weeks and will reach natural levels. Currently, the number of people willing to evacuate has decreased.

The russian army shelled Kizomys in Kherson oblast. At least four houses were damaged. There were no casualties.

The russian military shelled Bilozerka, Kherson oblast. The shelling damaged four residential buildings, the post office, administrative buildings, the central square, and critical infrastructure in the village. One man was killed and a woman was injured.

Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, over the past day, June 12, the russian army fired 39 times at Kherson region. They fired eight shells at Kherson, hitting residential areas of the city, a kindergarten and a store. As a result of the shelling, three people were wounded and two more died due to flooding. 

Volodymyr Litvinov, the head of the CMA, reported that in the Kalynivka and Tyahynska communities of Beryslav district, 10 settlements are flooded. During the day, water left 16 houses in Kalynivka and 35 in Tyahyne communities.

According to Kherson Regional Military Administration, the water continues to recede, so Kherson Oblast has moved on to the next stage of the response, with water pumping in some settlements. It is now possible to travel between villages. 

Roman Mrochko head of the CMA, reported that as of today, the water has completely receded in the Stepanivka starosta of the Kherson community. They are pumping water out of the basement. Employees of public utilities and the State Emergency Service are also eliminating the consequences of the oil spill in Komyshany.

In Komyshany, Kherson community, the water has not yet receded everywhere. There are still flooded houses, garbage and dead animals everywhere. According to Kateryna Rohova, the head of the Komyshany district, more than 300 houses are in water, and nine houses are completely destroyed. In the village, the water damaged about 50 houses. Residents of Komyshany began to clean up the aftermath of the flooding.  

The Ministry of Energy reported that the water level is still high at the onshore pumping station of Kherson CHP. Repair crews cannot start restoration work.

The draining of the Kakhovka Reservoir as a result of the russian troops’ explosion of the hydroelectric power plant will worsen the condition of the irrigated lands in Kherson region. Due to wind erosion, heavy metals will begin to migrate with the dust. These are only preliminary forecasts. 

Roman Palamarchuk, deputy director general of the Institute of Soil Protection, at a roundtable discussion at the Military Media Center said that it  is currently impossible to estimate the full extent of the damage caused.

Volyn oblast

An auto-refrigerator was sent to the Volyn military from the MONS PIUS public organization and the VP Rohansky Meat Processing Plant LLC.

The RMA reported that almost 50 tonnes of humanitarian aid was sent from Volyn to Kherson oblast.

In the RMA, the mother of a man from Luhansk who died for Ukraine was presented with For Courage her son’s posthumous order. Serhii Penkalia, Junior Sergeant, was killed in October 2022 while performing a combat mission near the Terna settlement of Donetsk oblast.

Zakarpattia oblast

2 trucks with humanitarian aid, including 4 powerful generators, over a ton of flour, 5 pallets of drinking water, food, medical preparations, disinfectants and hygiene products, clothes, tents, candles etc., from Zakarpattia are going to Kherson oblast.

The RMA reported that an ambulance was sent to the policemen who are currently performing combat missions in direct contact with the enemy.

In the center of Rakhov, in honor of the townspeople who were killed in the russian-Ukrainian war since 2014, an Alley of Heroes’ Glory was established. The installation consists of cubes with portraits of fallen defenders, and also contains information about the service and the circumstances under which the soldiers gave their lives for Ukraine.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The Department of Civil Protection of the RMA reported that there are currently 631 protective structures suitable for shelter in Prykarpattia, where 9% of the population can be accommodated. Another 21% of Carpathians can use the simplest shelters and dual-purpose facilities (1 225 premises). In case of danger, 54% of Ivano-Frankivsk residents can hide in 200K basements and other underground spaces in private houses and estates, mainly in rural settlements.

Ruslan Martsinkiv, Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, reported that the city sent 6 printers, cartridges and ink supplies for the 102 brigade.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the Italian construction and development business. Investments in Ukraine were discussed.

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the Senate of the Czech Republic. Methods used to ensure the transparency of doing business in the oblast were discussed, as well as those directions for investments that may interest Czech businessmen.

Over 4 tonnes of aid were sent to the people who suffered as a result of the explosion of Kakhovka HPP thanks to the OPIR Sambir volunteer association, residents of Sambir region and the parish of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the UGCC Drohobych.

During the Strii Organic Fest fair, almost UAH 50K were collected for the military. Producers of environmentally friendly products from different areas of Ukraine took part in the event.

In Ivano-Frankivsk community, students organized a charity fair in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. About UAH 14K collected were donated to purchase green bags, which will be used to strengthen the positions of soldiers of the territorial defense from Yavoriv region.

A Ya Mariupol.Family health center was opened in Morshyn. It already improves the health of 150 residents of Mariupol. These are children aged from 3 to 14 years, as well as older people.

The RMA reported that 12 children of fallen defenders from Lviv oblast will go to Italy for a month-long rehabilitation at the invitation of the Analytical Center for Eco-Development NGO.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that over 66K residents of Rivne oblast, who suffered from the war, benefited from UN assistance.

The RMA reported that 9 trucks (20 tonnes each) and 4 minibuses (2 tonnes each) of humanitarian aid were sent from Rivne oblast to Kherson oblast.

Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received a quadcopter worth UAH 106.5K. Funds to purchase an aerial reconnaissance aircraft were raised by the team of Rivneoblenergo company. This is already the fifth drone sent to the front line by the company’s power engineers.

The oblast received 3 off-road vehicles for military personnel and humanitarian cargo, which included medicines, mattresses, wheelchairs, walkers, canes, car tires, bed linen, from the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada.

A charity fair was held at the creative report of the Hoshchan Art School. Over UAH 22K collected will be used to help victims of the explosion of Kakhovka HPP.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA reported that in Ternopil oblast, staff training with the management bodies of the territorial subsystem of the unified state civil protection system to practice measures to protect the population in the event of radiation and chemical emergency situations began

An art school in Chortkov was named in honor of the fallen hero Vasyl Marmus. He volunteered in the Armed Forces, fought as part of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade under the call sign Musician. He was posthumously awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of the City of Chortkiv.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

9 trucks of humanitarian aid, included 12 boats, 5 motor pumps, 200 power banks, life jackets, household equipment, food, as well as hygiene products, blankets, bed linen, clothes, tablets for water disinfection and animal feed, etc., were sent from the oblast for the residents of Kherson oblast.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that the government has allocated UAH 25 million to equip shelters in schools in Bukovyna.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Lars Lekke Rasmussen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, announced that Ukraine will receive 2K artillery shells worth $36 million from the country.

Boris Pistorius, German Defense Minister, announced that the country will send additional tanks to the Ukrainian army. He clarified that by the end of 2023, Germany plans to send a total of over 100 units of this armored vehicle to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The US sanctions against belarus were extended for another year.

Kaisa Ollongren, Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, announced that training of Ukrainian pilots for the F-16 can begin in the summer. First, two groups of 12 Ukrainian pilots who already have experience flying MiGs will go to training.

Lloyd Austin, US Defense Secretary, and General Mark Milley, US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, will arrive in Wiesbaden, Germany on June 14 and they will hold a meeting with military personnel working with the Security Assistance Group in Ukraine.

Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, announced that details of the “aircraft coalition” will be discussed at the Rammstein-style meeting on June 15. It concerns the training of pilots and technicians who will service the aircraft. Also, at the meeting, issues of air defense, ammunition shells, artillery and the creation of equipment repair hubs will be discussed again.

Emmanuel Macron, French President, promised to do everything to prevent russia from winning and starting a new war. “The Ukrainian counteroffensive has been going on for several days. It should last several weeks or even several months. We want it to be as successful as possible, so that we can then start the phase of negotiations under proper conditions,” he said.

Anthony Blinken, US Secretary of the US, stated that the country will continue to maximize support for Ukraine to force putin to negotiate. He also added that Ukraine can expect a powerful package of support at the NATO summit.

Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, believes that the offensive of Ukrainian forces on the territories occupied by russia in the east and south of Ukraine has shown the first signs of success. According to the Secretary General of NATO, Ukrainian soldiers are gradually “gaining ground”, having recaptured several small towns and villages from the russian troops, at the same time warning against expectations of quick and significant successes.
