Border and frontline settlements in Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, and Kupiansk regions were shelled with mortars and artillery. Kozacha Lopan, Neskuchne, Ternova, Dvorichna, Zakhidne, Kamianka, Kyslivka, Fiholivka and other settlements were under enemy fire.

There have been no reports of significant destruction, casualties, or injuries among the civilian population over the day.

Demining continues in the region. Pyrotechnic experts from the State Emergency Service inspected over 11 hectares of territory and neutralized 68 ordnance.

A moose has been returned to the eco-park near Kharkiv after being evacuated. Last spring, it was taken out of the park due to shelling. This is one of two moose that were rescued from fires in the Chernobyl Zone in 2020.

Donetsk oblast

Serhiy Cherevatyi, Spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, reports that towards Bakhmut, there were 15 battles. Towards Lyman and Kupiansk, russian forces attacked near Dybrova in Luhansk oblast and Novosadove in Donetsk oblast twice.

During the fighting, Ukrainian troops eliminated 77 russian occupiers, injured 172, and captured two. It is reported that russian military equipment was also destroyed, namely 2 tanks, an armoured personnel carrier, 7 cannons, 2 self-propelled artillery systems, a Strela-10 surface-to-air missile system, an anti-tank missile system, and one UAV.

Journalist Anna Prokopenko from Mariupol has published a book of memoirs “Novels of the Azov Coast” written by her grandmother, journalist and writer Natalia Kharakoz. Natalia Kharakoz was a journalist, writer, member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine and the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, and the head of the literary club “Azovie.” She died in the basement of her house during the blockade of Mariupol on March 29. Her relatives searched for her body for a long time.

Luhansk oblast

Ukrainian defenders are holding back numerous enemy attempts to improve their positions. Additional reserves are engaged by the enemy the battle. The situation was intense near Dybrova. The russians also attacked near Novosadove in Donetsk oblast, which is very close to Nevske, where the situation is also tense. This village and Bilohorivka again came under russian artillery fire. These settlements have also been subjected to air strikes.

The Luhansk Regional Military Administration reported that the occupiers are increasingly threatening residents of the temporarily occupied territories with deportation if they do not have a russian passport. They have even passed a law allowing this to be done starting from July 1 next year. Employees of enterprises that do not yet have russian passports are forced to fill out ‘migration cards’ for only a temporary stay in the occupied territories for 180 days.

Many cities and villages in occupied Luhansk oblast remain without internet and mobile communication, as the enemy has disconnected them for easier control over residents. However, some people are trying to turn it into a business, offering temporary access to the service for a fee. For example, in Hirske, a 30-minute access costs 100 rubles. People lack communication, and many are without electricity and water, but the invaders have connected all territorial commissions to the automated “Elections” system in the so-called ‘luhansk People’s Republic’.

According to Roman Vlasenko, Head of Sievierodonetsk Administration,  russians have intensified ground operations again, using aviation and artillery more often.  By attacking in Luhansk oblast, they try to divert our Defense Forces’ attention from Bakhmut and other parts of the front. The occupiers target roads, complicating the logistics for delivering humanitarian aid to the remaining population in the de-occupied villages.
