The russian federation continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it does not abandon its plans for the complete occupation of Ukraine. The enemy continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, conducts strikes, and shells both military and civilian targets. The enemy is actively using aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armored vehicles.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

During the day of January 27, there were 64x combat engagements. The enemy launched 1x missile strike and carried out 35x MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, the russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Residential private and apartment buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged

Volyn and Polissya axes: no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna axes: the adversary maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. More than 30x settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Yeline, Bleshnya, Karpovychi, Leonivka (Chernihiv oblast), Chuikivka, Iskryskivshchyna, Andriivka, Volodymyrivka, Basivka, Popivka (Sumy oblast), Udy, Kozacha Lopan’, Ohirtseve, Vovchans’k, Budarky, Kolodyazne (Kharkiv oblast).

Kup’yans’k axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 5x assaults in the vicinities of Syn’kivka (Kharkiv oblast) and Stel’makhivka (Luhansk oblast). In that area the occupies made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 10x settlements, including Dvorichna, Syn’kivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Lyman axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 11x assaults near Terny, Yampolivka, Tors’ke (Donetsk oblast) and Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast). In that area the adversary made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10x settlements, including Karmazynivka, Nevs’ke, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Tors’ke, Dibrova, Serebryanka, Verkhn’okam’yans’ke, Spirne, Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Bakhmut axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 6x attacks in the vicinities of Ivanivske, Klishchiivka (Donetsk oblast), where the occupiers made unsuccessful attempts to improve their tactical situation. Around 10x settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Vasyukivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, New York (Donetsk oblast). 

Avdiivka axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 8x attacks near Stepove, Avdiivka, and 12x more attacks near Tonen’ke, Pervomais’ke (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the occupiers made unsuccessful attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10x settlements, including Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Avdiivka, Pervomais’ke (Donetsk oblast).

Mar’inka axis: the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders in the vicinities of Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the adversary made 10x failed attempts to improve its tactical situation. The settlements of Maksymil’yanivka, Heorhiivka, Pobjeda, Novomykhailivka were under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

Shakhtars’ke axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 3x assaults south of Zolota Nyva and west of Staromaiors’ke (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10x settlements, including Vodyane, Vuhledar, Bohoyavlenka, Staromaiors’ke, Zelene Pole (Donetsk oblast).

Zaporizhzhia axis: the Ukrainian defenders repelled 1x assault west of Verbove (Zaporizhzhia oblast). More than 15x settlements, including Levadne, Hulyaipole, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Lobkove (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Odesa operational-strategic group, Kherson axis: the adversary fired artillery at the city of Kherson and vicinities of settlements of Beryslav, Antonivka, Dniprovs’ke (Kherson oblast) as well as Ochakiv (Mykolaiv oblast). On top of that, the occupiers launched MLRS strikes at the vicinities of Ivanivka and Antonivka (Kherson oblast).

The occupiers do not abandon their intention to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. Thus, during the day, the enemy made 1x unsuccessful assault on positions of Ukrainian troops. 

During the day of January 27, the Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 4x concentrations of troops, weapons and military equipment of the occupiers. 

The Ukrainian missile troops hit 1x artillery system, 2x ammunition depots of the russian invaders.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

The enemy increases the number of artillery fire
As informed by the head of the public relations service of the command of the Ground Forces, Volodymyr Fityo, more than 20 enemy attacks were repulsed yesterday in the Lymansky and Kupyansk directions.

The enemy used 32 kamikaze drones and fired 533 artillery shells.

245 soldiers of the Russian Federation were eliminated and 32 units of their equipment were destroyed. In particular, two armored personnel carriers, two BMPs and MT-LB.

Kharkiv region

About 15 settlements of the Kharkiv region were hit by enemy artillery and mortar attacks, in particular: Veterinary of the Kharkiv district; Nesterne of Chuguyiv district; Komisarovka, Dvorichna, Sinkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestovka of the Kupyan district. This was announced by the head of the OVA Oleg Synegubov.

A 13-year-old girl who was injured as a result of Russian shelling of the village died in the hospital. Maly Burluk on January 17. The enemy attacked the settlement with an aerial bomb. The girl was in a coma for a long time and received complex shrapnel wounds.

Yesterday, at 10:40 a.m., the occupiers shelled the town of Kupyansk with 152 mm artillery. A police officer was injured. The victim was hospitalized, his condition is moderate. A private house was damaged.

At around 1:30 p.m., the enemy fired on the village with anti-aircraft guns. Smoking area of Kupyan district. A private house was damaged.

At 22:00, the occupiers also shelled the city of Vovchansk, Chuguyiv district, with anti-aircraft missiles. A private house was damaged.

Today, from 00:00 to 00:25, the enemy struck Kupyansk several times. Private houses and a garage were damaged.

Around 00:20, the occupiers shelled the village. Synelnikove of Chuguyiv district. A private house was damaged.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 13 enemy attacks near Tabaivka, Kupyan district.

The occupiers continue to attack the civilian infrastructure of the region, terrorizing the civilian population. Only in January 2024, 21 civilians died, including 1 8-year-old child. More than 180 civilians were injured, including 20 children.

Evacuation continues in the hot Kupyansk direction. To date, more than 200 people have been evacuated with the help of volunteers, including more than 15 families with children.

Donetsk oblast

Around 3:30, the occupiers directed a rocket at Slovyansk, aiming at an industrial facility. The enterprise, 4 apartment buildings, a boiler house and a gas pipeline were destroyed. There was no information about the victims.

9 settlements were under fire: the city of Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Kurakhove, Myrnograd, Novogrodivka, Chasiv Yar, the village of Ocheretine, the village of Novobakhmutivka, Serebryanka. This was reported in the press service of the Donetsk region police. The enemy attacked the residential sector with aviation, S-300 air defense systems, Uragan surface-to-air missiles, artillery, and drones. 65 civilian objects were damaged – 24 residential buildings, a hospital, kindergarten, school, shops, garages, 33 cars.

Pokrovsky district. 1 person died in Krasnohorivka. Single shelling of Avdiyivka was recorded, Kurakhove was shelled with cluster munitions from MLRS without casualties.

Kramatorsk district. At night, the Russians hit Slovyansk with a rocket – an industrial building was destroyed, 4 high-rise buildings, a kindergarten and an infrastructure object were damaged. Kostyantynivka was shelled by artillery — there is damage to the infrastructure. In the Lymansk community, the outskirts of Terni were shelled three times.

Bakhmut district. One person died in Siversk, 2 houses were damaged. A house was damaged in Toretska hromada, 2 houses and an industrial building were damaged in Chasovoyarsk hromad.

In total, the Russians shelled populated areas of Donetsk region 15 times during the day. 152 people, including 29 children, were evacuated from the front line.

The demolition of the rubble in New York has been completed – the bodies of 5 people were pulled out from under the ruins of the building. On January 15, the Russians dropped two controlled aerial bombs on a three-story building in New York – then three people were injured, and five remained under the rubble. The search operation lasted almost two weeks.

102 children were taken out of Donetsk region in one week. Also, six minors were evacuated from Toretska community since January 22, more than 20 children still remain in three settlements of the community, where forced evacuation was introduced.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, this time the enemy attacked near Stelmakhivka and towards Terny in Donetsk oblast, south of Nevske. Nevske, Bilohorivka and Serebrianka forest were under enemy artillery attack.

A 70-year-old man agreed to move from Nevske to a safer region. Back in late December, he was injured in an enemy shelling and hospitalised. 

A weekly supply of bread and a batch of food packages were delivered to Nevske.

In addition, Luhansk police documented the destruction of four more private houses after russian shelling. This is the aftermath of the powerful December and January attacks on the settlement.

The so-called “lpr” held the first meeting of the commission on fighting against corruption and extended the moratorium on fines for tax offences. The resolution adopted by the government of russian federation will apply to offences that occurred from 1 January 2024. Impunity for individuals continues. Previously, it concerned medical institutions at the regional and city levels. Recently, rural outpatient clinics in Lutuhyne region stopped accepting people without eussian-type documents. The prohibition applies to both adults and children.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

For round-the-clock monitoring of the situation and monitoring of the situation at the state border and adjacent territory, border guards are installing video surveillance cameras on the northern border of Ukraine. The SBGS reported that the most threatening directions are already equipped with remote surveillance systems, which make it possible to survey the area both during the day and at night. In the event of any threat, units can detect it in advance and respond promptly to changes in the situation.

Kyiv oblast

FC Lokomotiv reported that one of the victims of a massive russian missile attack on Kyiv died in the hospital on January 23. The Lokomotiv sports complex was damaged by missile debris, as a result of which Mykhailo Donsky was injured. All this time he was in a serious condition in a coma. Mykhailo was a former powerlifting athlete, together with his family he was a regular visitor to Lokomotiv sports complex and a fan of football.

The Minister of Strategic Industry Oleksandr Kamyshin said that the fund of Kyiv oblast has 2,159 shelters to date. Compared to the third quarter of 2023, the fund of protective structures of civil protection increased by 145 shelters. During the past year, 25 anti-radiation shelters and 337 of the simplest ones were repaired. Currently, 63 shelters and 123 of the simplest shelters are undergoing repair and restoration work.

Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of Kyiv RMA, said that all issues with shelters in schools are planned to be resolved in Kyiv oblast by the end of 2024. According to him, today only 3% of schools in the oblast work remotely due to the lack of shelters. In total, there are more than 1,200 civil defense facilities in educational institutions. Currently, shelters will be installed in 18 schools and kindergartens, and repair work is being carried out in 35 educational institutions.

The fleet of the Irpin Central City Hospital was replenished with a new ambulance vehicle. German benefactors of the international aid society “Interhelp” handed over the ambulance with the necessary equipment to the city. According to the mayor of Irpin, Oleksandr Markushyn, this is the fourth “ambulance” given to the community by German benefactors.

Kyiv City State Administration reported that since February 24, 2022, 34,994 babies have been born in maternity hospitals and shelters in Kyiv, despite air strikes and rocket attacks. During the 700 days of the full-scale invasion of russia, 46,170 couples got married in Kyiv.

On the occasion of the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust, the exhibition project “Po Jivomu”, which presents the works of two modern Ukrainian artists – Matvyi Vaisberg and Oleksandr Zhivotkov, was opened in Kyiv. The exhibition also presents documentary video archives of the tragic consequences of the Holocaust in Ukraine and the video work “War”, based on the chronicle of the first year of the invasion of the russian federation into Ukraine.

The Kyiv City State Administration presented a collection of memories and reflections of women about life in the capital during the war “Kyiv. Women. War”. According to Maryna Honda, the deputy head of the KCSA, this book is about the Kyiv subway, and about basements, and about weaving nets, and about the birth of children under constant russian shelling. The book includes stories by female authors, among whom there are both famous writers and those for whom these texts are the first test of a pen.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr RMA reported that more than 16,000 internally displaced children live in the oblast, there are 100 orphans and children deprived of parental care among them. They come from different regions of Ukraine and are settled in 30 communities of the oblast. 36 children are in family-type orphanages, 12 are in foster families.

In Zhytomyr, families of servicemen of the 95th Separate Assault Polissya Brigade met with representatives of the Coordinating Headquarters on the Treatment of Prisoners of War. During the meeting, they spoke with law enforcement officers, human rights defenders and representatives of the Red Cross.

The National Police of Zhytomyr oblast reported that 23 active police officers are undergoing training in schools as part of the “SOB Officers” project. The goal of the project is to create a safe environment in secondary education institutions. It will be implemented throughout Ukraine, primarily in regions located closest to war zones or to the border with russia and Belarus.

The oblast is implementing a sustainability project that will allow residents of communities in war conditions to receive systematic psychosocial support free of charge. Four territorial communities were recognized as the winners of the selection – Lyubar, Popilnya, Berdychiv and Malyn. Residents of Malyn community, one of the first in Ukraine, will be able to receive comprehensive free mental health support and help from social workers.

Zhytomyr city council reported that local business representatives once again handed over vehicles brought from Denmark to the military. These are two Volkswagen Transporters, fully prepared for work.

Sumy oblast

 Sumy RMA reported that on the morning of January 27, a russian reconnaissance and sabotage group shot a brother and sister from the village of Andriivka. Their house is located in the five-kilometer border zone. The regional prosecutor’s office started a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder. It was reported there that the occupiers fired at a vehicle with civilians traveling on the road between two villages of the Khotyn community.

At night and in the morning, the russians carried out 3 attacks on the border region of Sumy oblast. As reported in RMA, the communities of Bilopillia and Velyka Pysarivka came under shelling. 61 explosions were recorded: 54 mortar hits and 7 hits from AGS grenade launchers.

During the past day, January 26, the russian military carried out 22 shelling of the border territories of the oblast, a total of 100 explosions were recorded. Khotyn, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Myropillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske and Druzhbivka communities came under shelling. The enemy fired from mortars, artillery, dropped VOG from UAVs and struck with the “FPV” type drones.

The police of Sumy oblast reported that as a result of russian shelling on January 26, one residential building was damaged in the Velyka Pysarivka community, an apartment building, three private residential buildings and an outbuilding were mutilated in the Myropillia community.

Sumy RMA reported that another stage of the construction of fortifications and engineering barriers has begun in the border region of the oblast, and the combat capabilities of the defensive lines are increasing. So far, 5 work customers and 11 executors have been defined in all regions of the oblast. In 2023, Sumy oblast built fortifications at the expense of regional and local budgets, this year the state allocated additional funding for construction.

The head of Sumy RMA, Volodymyr Artyukh announced that the warning system and the condition of protective structures in the border community of Yunakivka significantly improved in 2023. On its territory, despite daily shelling, new shelters were built and old ones brought into compliance with the requirements of the State Emergency Service. 

Chernihiv oblast

SBGS reported that during the past 24 hours, russian troops carried out 7 shellings of the border of Chernihiv oblast. Three communities of the oblast were under enemy shelling: Novhorod-Siverskyi – 10 strikes from the AGS in the direction of Hremyach; Semenivka – 14 mortar hits in the direction of Arkhipivka, Leonivka, Halahanivka; Snovsk – 5 mortar strikes in the vicinity of the village Elyne.

A new honorary award “Defender of Ukraine – Hero of the Pryluky Community” was approved for Pryluky residents who died during or as a result of hostilities. Such a decision was made at a meeting of the deputies of the Pryluky City Council. Also, UAH 37 million was allocated from the city budget to support territorial defense and the Armed Forces.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

During the night, the occupiers shelled the Nikopol district twice with artillery. This was announced by the head of the DOR Mykola Lukashuk. They beat Nikopol and the Marganets community. The occupiers directed 12 kamikaze drones to Nikopol region. They beat the district center and the Marganets community. Also in the evening Nikopol was shelled with artillery. A 61-year-old man was injured in one of the villages of the Marganets community. Fortunately, the injuries are not serious and will be treated at home. 6 private houses, 5 farm buildings, 2 cars, power lines and fences were damaged.

Danger to life from mines and explosive objects – such topics are discussed with schoolchildren in the mobile safety class. Rescuers together with law enforcement officers come to educational institutions of the Dnipropetrovsk region almost every day in cars equipped for classes.

In Dnipro, the participants of the action in support of the Armed Forces created an “Alley of Honor” in the alley near the city council in honor of the fallen servicemen. There, relatives and friends of the fallen soldiers will be able to leave flags with the names of the fallen.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​ Two pickup trucks were handed over to defenders from Vinnytsia. Vinnytsia Mayor Serhiy Morgunov announced this. One will go to the front line near Bakhmut, the other will reinforce mobile fire groups. Cars were purchased within the scope of work with the Interregional Coordination Humanitarian Headquarters.

Kirovohrad oblast

At night, 4 Shaheds were destroyed in Kirovohrad Oblast. This was announced by the head of Kirovohrad OVA Andriy Rajkovich. In the Kropyvnytskyi district, debris damaged the fence of an abandoned private house.

Cherkasy oblast

In Cherkasy, a Center for Social Cohesion of the Population was opened for IDPs. This was reported in the press service of the Department of Education and Humanitarian Policy of the ChMR. This center should become a center for meetings and psychological support for all age groups of internally displaced persons.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

It is reported that the russian army launched 86 strikes on 9 cities and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Occupiers shelled Mala Tokmachka, Novoivaniivka, and Novouspenivske with MLRS, and attacked Huliaipole, Chervone, Malynivka, Levadne, Poltavka, Robotyne, Piatyhatky, and Chervonodniprovka with 19 drones. 64 artillery strikes hit the territory of Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Novodarivka, Levadne, Malynivka, Omelnyk, Charivne, Kamianske, Stepove, Lobkove, and other frontline settlements. There were seven reports about the destruction of residential buildings.

Ukrainian forces repelled 6 enemy attacks north of Pryiutne, south of Chervone, west of Verbove, and Robotyne towards Zaporizhzhia. This was reported by the General Staff.

Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration informed on the restoration status of multi-story buildings damaged by russian shellings. Reconstruction is 70% complete on Soborna Street, 151, with interior finishing already done in apartments. The roof has been fully restored, electrical networks and internal communications have been replaced, and improvement of adjacent territories is completed. A new modular shelter has been built for the safety of residents. The destroyed entrance has been demolished, engineering networks have been laid, and the supporting part of the roof has been restored on Stalevariv Street, 16. Repairs to apartments in neighboring entrances and the construction of the simplest shelter are ongoing.

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv RMA reported that on January 26, at 11:49 and 13:47, the enemy conducted artillery shelling in water area of Ochakiv community. There were no casualties reported.

Demining operations have commenced in the territory of Murakhivske Forestry, a part of the Bashchanske Forest Enterprise in Mykolaiv oblast. The international donors will be financing the demining efforts, which will be carried out by the specialized company “Ukrainian Demining Services” LLC. The initial phase aims to clear an area of 18.2 hectares in three blocks of explosive objects. In 2024, reforestation is planned for this area. However, with the shifting of the frontline, an additional 2,663 hectares in forestry will require demining. The overall demining process is anticipated to be a prolonged task, estimated to take at least 10 years.

In Mykolaiv, on January 26, a memorial event was held to honor the memory of Holocaust victims – those who suffered mass murder during World War II. Approximately 50 attendees, including representatives of local authorities, the Jewish community, and residents, participated in the event. Due to the martial law, the event was not publicly announced.

Odesa oblast

According to the Southern Defense Forces, the enemy has moved 6 ships into the Black Sea, including 4 cruise missile carriers, carrying a total of 22 Kalibr missiles. The risk level of shellings remains significant.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovenia to Ukraine, Mateja Prevolšek, on January 25-26 visited Izmail district. During her visit, she toured several schools that participated in the project “Caring for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support for Children and Their Families”. This collaborative initiative, led by the Ukrainian NGO “Zhyva-Ya” (eng. Living-Me) and the partner organization “Slovene Philanthropi”, (Slovenian) aims to provide rehabilitation and psychosocial assistance to children and their families affected by the war in Ukraine.

On January 27, in the afternoon, an antisubmarine aircraft of the U.S. Navy was observed near the borders of Odesa oblast. According to information obtained from the Flightradar portal, the aircraft is patrolling the Black Sea, operating within the airspace of Romania.

Volunteers associated with “Mastery of Unbrokenness” in Odesa have designed and assembled a “Bath on Wheels”. This mobile bath is created on the basis of a bus, capable of relocating to different areas and serves as a practical facility for soldiers on the frontlines during winter. According to Olexander Hrenyuk, Head of “Mastery of Unbrokenness”, the creation of the bath took approximately 1.5-2 weeks and cost around 120-130 thousand hryvnias. This is the third mobile bath delivered to the frontlines by volunteers.

In Odesa, local volunteers have established the “Museum of Ukrainian Resistance” (they also called it Small Museum of Big War), featuring various war artifacts such as military equipment, shell casings, projectile fragments, flags, and more.

Kherson oblast

This morning, the enemy army dropped an explosive device on Beryslav using drones. One man was killed, and another person was hospitalized as a result of the strike.

During the night, occupiers shelled Mykilske for several hours, damaging gas and electricity networks, water supply, and people’s homes. Stanislav was also under enemy attack. There were hits near private houses and cars. The extent of the damage is being clarified.

Yesterday, the enemy conducted 85 shelling attacks, firing 340 shells with the use of mortars, artillery, MLRS, tanks, and UAVs. The city of Kherson was targeted with 32 shells. One person sustained injuries due to russian aggression. The police initiated 14 war crimes committed by the russian army against the civilian population on the right bank of Kherson oblast.

The enemy shelled Bilozerka, Chornobaivka, Antonivka, Inzhenerne, Sadove, and Prydniprovske. russian forces shelled Novotiahynka using artillery. The russian army systematically shelled Kherson. Enemy shell exploded in the schoolyard  in Dniprovskyi district, damaging windows and a pathway on the sports ground. Coastal residents reported damaged private houses. Gas pipes were damaged, windows in apartment buildings were broken, and facades, doors, and windows in private houses were damaged in Korabelnyi district due to enemy attacks.

The “South” Operational Command reported that powerful counter-battery fighting continues. The enemy remains determined to dislodge Ukrainian units from positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River but has slightly reduced activity, attempting 4 unsuccessful assaults.

Confirmed enemy losses over the past day included 9 occupiers, 1 tank, 7 artillery pieces, 8 units of armored vehicles, and 1 radio equipment antenna. Another field supply point was destroyed.

Volyn oblast

Lutsk City Council sent 20 FPV drones, one DJI MAVIC 3 Fly more combo quadcopter, two Bluetti charging stations and 10 anti-thermal imaging ponchos for the needs of military personnel of the A4718 military unit.

Zakarpattia oblast

The development strategy of Zakarpattia oblast for the period until 2027 is being updated with the support of the USAID HOVERLA Project. The next step is to define operational goals and objectives. This was discussed at the meeting of the working group on the development of the Strategy, which took place in the RMA.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic will soon allocate 10 mln crowns for the construction of the 4.5.0 Rehabilitation Center for the Military in Uzhhorod. This was agreed upon during a working meeting with Peter Gandalovych, Director of the Assistance Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Larisa Zahrai, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology of Vasyl Stefaniuk National University of Carpathians, and a representative of the Together for Ukraine international charity fund. It was about the possibility of training specialists with a basic psychological or medical education who will provide psychological support to military and civilian persons, as well as training family medics of primary medical care institutions who will work with the population to provide such necessary services in wartime.

Lviv oblast

Lviv City Council reported that they sent 4 cars, 60 Mavics (3 and 3T), 5 Sirko UAVs and 2 Mara UAVs worth over UAH 17 mln to the military.

A record amount among communities UAH 2 mln 353K was collected during the rally in Mostysk, which was organized in support of the Victory Birds charity project. All this funds will be used to buy drones for the 10th separate mountain assault brigades Edelveis, the 103th territorial defense brigade, the 24th King Danylo brigade, the 63th infantry brigade and the 7th border Carpathian detachment.

The soldier from Chervonohrad region was posthumously awarded the 3rd degree For Courage Order. Andrii Zalivskyi, Head of Chervonohrad City Council presented the award to the family of the fallen serviceman. Junior sergeant Andri Zhihaylo, call sign Maliuk, served in the ranks of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was killed on June 13, 2023 near the village of Ivanivske in Donetsk oblast. Andrii was 26 years old.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that for almost two years of the war, the number of individual entrepreneurs in the oblast not only did not decrease, but also increased by 15.4% to 44.7K people. This demonstrates business adaptability and flexibility, as well as effective state and local programs.

Ternopil oblast

Natalia Husak, Head of the National Health Service of Ukraine, paid a working visit to Ternopil oblast. The key purpose of visits is to inform the population about the Affordable Medicines program.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that  in Khmelnytskyi a meeting was held on the issues of conducting reviews and reforming medical and social expert commissions.

The RMA held a meeting with a delegation of senior advisers of the US Congress and American experts. The visit was of an introductory nature, and the participants of the meeting discussed the current situation in Khmelnytskyi oblast and opportunities for cooperation.

Chernivtsi oblast

A room for psycho-emotional relief has become operational in the Center for Primary Health Care of Hlybotsk Settlement Council. Here, psychological help will be provided to everyone who needs it. A special space for children was also created in the center. In particular, it was equipped with educational toys, equipment for creativity and recreation. The project was implemented with the support of the Rokada CF and the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

All 27 EU countries have agreed to support the €50 bln Ukraine Facility, a four-year aid program for Ukraine. Ukraine expects the EU to approve this program on February 1. Also, the government expects that this year the EU will be able to provide financial assistance at approximately the same level as in 2023. Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister, noted that in order to cover the deficit of the Ukrainian budget, it is important to attract about €18 bln from the European Union.

Raphael Grossi reported on the situation at Zaporizhzhya NPP to the UN Security Council delegates. Director General of the International Nuclear Energy Agency, noted that the situation with nuclear and physical safety at Zaporizhzhia NPP remains extremely unstable.

Ukraine wants to transfer part of the production of drones to Lithuania. Gabrielius Landsbergis, Minister of Foreign Affairs, suggested the possibility of joint production of drones with Ukraine.

UNICEF delivered 350K doses of vaccine against diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus to Ukraine. UNICEF purchased the vaccine at the expense of the Japanese government. Drugs will be distributed to medical facilities in all regions of Ukraine.

Customs officers of Baltic countries agreed on the uniform application of EU sanctions against the russian federation and belarus. This agreement confirms the declaration signed by the prime ministers of Baltic states on December 20 last year.

Pursuant to the agreements of presidents of Ukraine and the French Republic, reached during the phone conversation of leaders on January 18, the Ukrainian negotiating team held another round of negotiations with France regarding the conclusion of a bilateral agreement on providing Ukraine with security guarantees.

Colonel Eero Rebo, Head of the General Staff of the Estonian Defense Forces, said that in the coming weeks, russia may try to advance in the border areas of belhorod and Kharkiv oblasts in order to pull Ukrainian units away from Kupian region, which is the key target of the attack by russian troops.

The German Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched a large-scale russian disinformation campaign on Twitter (X). The goal is to increase public dissatisfaction with the current coalition government of Germany and undermine support for Ukraine. Experts found that in one month, over 50K fake accounts published a total of more than a million posts in German, often accusing the federal government.

During the large-scale war, Ukrainians opened almost 50K Individual entrepreneurs in Poland. This means that every tenth company created in Poland in 2022 was Ukrainian.

Raimonds Zukuls, Deputy Director General for Customs Affairs of the State Revenue Service of Latvia, announced that the country opened over 250 criminal cases due to violations of sanctions against the russian federation and belarus. In 2023, 144 criminal trials were initiated, in 2022 – 114.
