It has been the 682nd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The enemy continues to violate the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, conducts strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets.

The enemy is actively using tactical aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armored vehicles.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

There were 27 combat engagements. The enemy launched a total of 8 missiles and 55 air strikes, carried out 23 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. The russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private residential and apartment buildings, and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes and no signs of formation of an offensive group. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk.and Sloboda, the enemy maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. They continue sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increase the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The invaders launched air strikes in the vicinities of Oleksandrivka, Vovchansk, Prykolotne, Chuhunivka (Kharkiv oblast). Around 15xl settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Klyusy, Yeline, Popivka (Chernihiv oblast), Znob-Novhorodske, Iskryskivschyna, Myropilske, Hrabovske, Popivka, Ponomarenky (Sumy oblast), Chervona Zorya, Kozacha Lopan, Lukiantsi, Vovchansk, Bochkove, Budarky (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 3 attacks in the vicinities of Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka (Kharkiv oblast), where the occupiers, with air support, made unsuccessful attempts to improve their tactical situation. The occupiers launched an air strike near Tabaivka (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the enemy conducted no offensives. The occupiers launched air strikes in the area of Serebrianske forestry (Luhansk oblast) and near Terny, Spirne (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Torske, Serebryanka, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 1 attack in the vicinity of Klischiivka (Donetsk oblast). The invaders launched an air strike near New York settlement. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Vasyukivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, New York (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 enemy attacks near Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, and 9 more attacks in the vicinities of Pervomaiske and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast). With air support the enemy conducted unsuccessful attempts to improve its tactical situation. They launched an air strike in the vicinity of settlement Oleksandropil (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired from artillery and mortar.at around 10 settlements, including Berdychi, Stepove, Lastochkyne, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske.

Towards Mariinka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders in the vicinities of Mariinka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). With air support the enemy made 5 attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Kostiantynivka were under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy conducted no offensives. The invaders launched an air strike near Staromaiorsk settlement. They fired from artillery and mortars at over 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Staromaiorske, Urozhaine, Rivnopil (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 2 assaults near Robotyne and south of Novodarivka, where the occupiers, with air support, made attempts to improve their tactical situation. They launched air strikes in the vicinities of Mala Tokmachka and Piatykhatky. Over 15 settlements, including Poltavka, Huliaipole, Charivne, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, Piatykhatky (Zaporizhzhia oblast), came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, the enemy fired from artillery at the settlements of Tiahynka, Kherson, Oleksandrivka (Kherson oblast), as well as Kutsurub, Ochakiv (Mykolaiv oblast).

The occupiers do not abandon their intention to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. Thus, the enemy made 18 unsuccessful assaults. The Ukrainian troops are holding the line and keep inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

The Ukrainian Air Forces launched air strikes on 19 concentrations of troops of the occupiers.

The Ukrainian missile troops hit 1 command post, 1.ammunition depot, 1 artillery system, 1 air defense radar station, 1 Tor surface-to-air missile system of the russian invaders.


On January 2 2024, russia fired a North Korean missile at Kharkiv. The missile might have been delivered by North Korea.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine codified and allowed for use in the army almost one and a half dozen new models of domestically produced weapons and military equipment. Among them are robotic systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, engineering equipment, modernized ATGM with new missiles.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that russian troops launched airstrikes near five settlements in Kharkiv oblast, specifically near Vovchansk. According to the report, Ukrainian soldiers repelled three russian attacks near Synkivka, Petropavlivka and Ivanivka of Kupiansk region.

Volodymyr Fito, Head of the public relations service of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated that the military has not recorded any changes in the structure of russian army in Kharkiv oblast or near the border. Despite this, russia has not stopped planning to capture Kharkiv.

The press service of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office said that a 55-year-old resident of Vovchansk sustained a mine-blast injury as a result of russian mortar shelling in the morning of 6 January. Buildings and the territory of an enterprise in the city were damaged.

Experts will examine the debris from the missiles that russians launched at Kharkiv on 2 January. Dmytro Chubenko, Spokesman of Kharkiv Region Prosecutor’s Office, explained that the first studies showed that it is 10 mm larger than the Iskander, some of the markings are worn off and some are made with markers, which is not typical for modern high-tech production. According to him, experts compared the debris with photos of missiles that North Korean authorities have demonstrated at their military parades and saw similar elements, such as nozzles and a tail.

The press service of Kharkiv Regional State Emergency Service informed that near Zolochiv, sappers defused a FAB-250 bomb. According to the press service, on 5 January, pyrotechnics examined about 4.5 hectares of territory and defused 28 explosive ordnance.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that 21 people were hospitalised in medical institutions of the region as a result of the shelling of Kharkiv by the enemy on 29 December and 2 January. A 56-year-old man is in critical condition and previously underwent surgery. The victim received multiple shrapnel wounds. The other patients are in moderate condition in the neurosurgery, neurological and ophthalmological departments.

12-year-old volunteer Sofiia Hnatiuk and her foster father Andreas Porschke brought 11 tonnes of sweets and gifts from Germany for children evacuated from frontline communities to Kharkiv. Before the full-scale invasion, Sofiia used to live in Kharkiv, in Rohan, but she left with her family. Her mother died and Andreas Porschke took the girl in. Sofiia decided to come and greet her friends and other children.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy offensive has slowed down, the Armed Forces of Ukraine inflict damage on the invaders and they are forced to retreat to recover. No Ukrainian positions were lost. Work on the construction of fortifications in the region continues around the clock despite the weather conditions. There are two main areas – Kupiansk and Lyman. The north of Kharkiv oblast and Sumy oblast are not forgotten.

Over 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast suffered from artillery and mortar attacks yesterday, including Hatyshche, Bochkove of Chuhuiv region, Dvorichanske, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove of Kupiansk region.

At 12:15 am, the invaders attacked Kupiansk with MRLs. They hit the territory of the lyceum. The building of the educational institution was damaged.

Around 12:40 am, a house was damaged as a result of shelling from MRLs in Kupiansk. A 61-year-old woman was rescued from the rubble. The victim was taken to hospital with a foot injury.

At 10:40 and 10:47 am, the enemy shelled Lyptsi village, Kharkiv region. A house, an administrative building and warehouses were damaged.

Around 11 am, the invaders attacked Kozacha Lopan village, Kharkiv region. A private house and a summer kitchen were damaged.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 7 enemy attacks near Synkivka, Kupiansk region.

Combined teams of bomb experts cleared 6.6 hectares of land in Kharkiv oblast and defused 200 explosive ordnance. Mine clearance is ongoing.

Donetsk oblast

Near Bakhmut, russian army is sending most of its forces to assault the road to Chasiv Yar. Towards Horlivka, the invaders are not conducting large-scale assaults, but are increasing their artillery fire.

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, russian army attacked the private sector of Pokrovsk in the afternoon. One person was rescued from the rubble of the building and two others are still trapped under it.

Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that russian forces launched two air strikes on residential buildings in Pivnichne of Toretsk community in the morning of 6 January. One person was killed. As of 2:30 pm, it became known that another woman was injured during an airstrike in Pivnichne of Toretsk community in the morning of 6 January.

Filashkin, Head of the RMA, added that at night of 6 January, russian army struck Pokrovsk twice. The administrative building, cars and garages were damaged. The invaders attacked the city with S-300 missiles. The main impact was on Pokrovsk and Rivne of Myrnohrad community.

Donetsk Regional State Emergency Service said that the fire was extinguished for about three hours after the night shelling of the city. Garages were on fire. The total area covered by the fire was 600 square metres. As a result of russian night shelling, 28 private houses were damaged. Serhii Dobriak, Head of Pokrovsk City Military Administration, stated that currently, the city authorities are documenting the destruction and distributing construction materials to people. According to him, eight people were injured, five people were killed in Pokrovsk community, including two children aged 15 and 17, their bodies are being searched under the rubble.

Veronika Bakhal, Spokeswoman of Donetsk Regional State Emergency Service, said that two private houses were completely destroyed in Pokrovsk. Three people lived at one address, one of them was rescued. Four people lived in the other house, two of them children. In Rivne village, one private house with six people living in it was completely destroyed.  Search operations are currently ongoing.

Donetsk police reported that a family of 6 people is being searched under the rubble of a house in Rivne. Among them are two brothers, aged 7 and 9, and their three-year-old sister.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that on 5 January, the Defence Forces of Ukraine repelled 39 russian attacks in Donetsk oblast. Most of the fighting was towards Avdiivka and Marinka.

Volodymyr Fito, Chief of Communications Service, reported that yesterday russian army fired more than 700 times at Ukrainian positions towards Bakhmut and Lyman-Kupiansk, attacked with more than thirty kamikaze drones and lost more than 200 soldiers.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, informed that one person was injured in Krasnohorivka as a result of russian shelling on 5 January.

The White Angel unit brought 750 kilograms of animal food to Avdiivka. According to Donetsk police, the food was given to residents who took care of the animals, including a woman who has 18 abandoned cats and 3 dogs.

Luhansk oblast

In recent days, the enemy has intensified shelling and air raids on de-occupied villages. For instance, yesterday they opened fire on Nevske and Bilohorivka. In total, about ten households were destroyed in Nevske in recent days. Additional damage is found almost every day. Also russians attacked towards Kupiansk yesterday. The enemy is using more and more equipment to organise the assaults as attempts to advance with infantry alone have not brought any results.

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, in “lpr”, the occupation administration ordered to create propaganda centres in every existing school and municipal institutions, the so-called “svo museums”. Exhibitions with russian equipment will be brought there and stands with local traitors will be set up to reinforce the myth that local people support the occupation. A similar exhibition has recently been launched in Svatove Museum of Local History. The collaborators will try to make it mandatory to visit.

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, summed up the results of the first working week of 2024. Kostiantyn Litvinov, an associate professor at Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, and five servicemen of Luhansk Border Guard Detachment were rescued from russian captivity. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi awarded a certificate for an apartment to the Hero of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kovalenko, a resident of Sievierodonetsk. Rubizhne community gave the SBU two “heavy” drones.

The head of the RMA also said that 548 russian shells hit the de-occupied territory of Luhansk oblast yesterday and the enemy is preparing for new attacks and is gathering up reserves. One of the russian brigades in Serebrianka forest was almost completely destroyed and had to withdraw. In the occupied areas of the region close to the contact line, hospitals are filled with injured russians. The colony in Sukhodolsk is being transformed into a torture chamber by the invaders and 16- and 17-year-old boys in the so-called “lpr” are being registered for military service.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the Kyiv RMA, reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, more than 28,000 facilities have been destroyed or damaged in the Kyiv oblast. 16,500 of them have already been restored. During the latest russian attack, 5 districts in the oblast were affected, with 14 apartment buildings, 50 detached houses, over 90 cars, 2 schools, a church and warehouses damaged.

In Vyshneve, a massive window installation will begin on Sunday to replace the windows that were smashed as a result of the russian attack on January 2. The international foundation Global Empowerment Mission will help install windows in all the damaged buildings.

Kyiv RMA reported that in 2024, it is planned to build and repair 100 shelters in educational institutions in Kyiv oblast. In total, more than 900 shelters were installed in schools and kindergartens in 2022-2023. Currently, construction is underway in 18 schools and kindergartens, and repairs are underway in 35 more educational institutions.

According to State Emergency Service, on January 5, sappers from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine neutralised a warhead of a russian Kinzhal missile in Kyiv. The work was carried out in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city.

According to Kyiv RMA, the second stage of the dual-purpose shelter was set up at the Hatne lyceum. In 5 months, the building was renovated and three more classrooms were equipped. The first stage was completed last year, allowing the school to fully switch to offline education in the spring of 2023. The shelter is also used by children from the nearby kindergarten.

On January 30, a performance about forced migration during the war, H.O.M.E., will be presented in Kyiv. This is a new dance performance by INSHA DANCE COMPANY about unbreakable Ukrainians. The performance was created with the support of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany and the Goethe-Institut’s Stabilisation Fund for Culture. The performance was created by people who personally experienced evacuation from their homes during wartime and decided to bring their experience to life on stage.

Zhytomyr oblast

According to Zhytomyr RMA, as of January 05, 2024, 704 Points of Invincibility have been set up in the Zhytomyr oblast, adapted to work in the absence of centralised electricity and heat supply. They are located in the administrative premises of territorial communities, educational and healthcare institutions. They are equipped with bullpens, Internet connection, basic necessities, generators and sufficient fuel reserves.

In Zhytomyr, Points of Invincibility will be open not only during blackouts but also during severe frosts.

In Zhytomyr, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Estonia, three houses are to be built within a year for IDP families raising foster children. The Estonian side will take care of the construction of the house and an outbuilding that will serve as a shelter. The Zhytomyr City Council will be responsible for laying utilities to the site and creating an access road.

Households in Zhytomyr Oblast affected by the war will be able to receive free vegetable seeds for the spring sowing season. This is the second year in a row that the USAID AGRO Program has been implementing this project as part of the Agriculture Resilience Initiative (AGRI-Ukraine).

Sumy oblast

Russian invaders fired nine times at the border communities of Sumy oblast. There were 52 explosions caused by mortar shelling, cannon artillery and grenade launchers. Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Shalyhine and Svesa communities were under hostile fire. Two residential buildings were damaged as a result of the shelling.

According to the Sumy RMA, at night, the russian military fired 3 times at the border communities of the oblast. There were 7 mortar attacks on the territory of the Velyka Pysarivka and Znob-Novhorodske communities. 

Mobile firing groups of the Air Defence Forces, which protect the Sumy oblast sky from air and missile attacks, tested equipment to destroy enemy air targets. Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and territorial defence took part in the trainings.

Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of the RMA, reported that a powerful fallout shelter is being built at the Sumy Centre for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of Children. The Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine signed a trilateral agreement for the first stage of construction worth more than UAH 7 million. The Embassy of the Slovak Republic is providing almost 101 thousand EUR for the second stage of construction.

Metal-plastic windows and balcony doors were installed in the destroyed five-storey building in Trostianets. The damaged building structures were completely dismantled, monolithic reinforced concrete floors were installed and the roof was restored.

Chernihiv oblast

The main auditorium of the Chernihiv Drama Theatre, which was damaged by russian shelling, is scheduled to reopen in February. Heating has been restored to the theatre building, emergency repairs are underway inside and outside, and builders are currently completing the installation of two entrance doors. Three international organisations are helping to restore the theatre: the German Foundation for the Preservation of Monuments, the international foundation Partnership for a Strong Ukraine and the Expertise France Foundation.

According to the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Chernihiv RMA, the roof of the Chernihiv Regional Library, damaged during the hostilities, has been repaired and all damaged windows replaced. The restoration of the library is funded by the World Monuments Fund, with which the Chernihiv Regional Administration has signed two memoranda of cooperation.

According to the Chernihiv RMA, starting from Monday, the kindergarten and lyceum in the Novyi Bilous community will switch to offline learning. The shelter for the kindergarten was built at the expense of the local budget. In addition to its own funds, the community involved donors – UNICEF – to bring the shelter in the local lyceum into compliance. 

All communities in Nizhyn district have programmes that provide support to war veterans or family members of fallen soldiers. Some communities have provided a fixed amount of funding, while others allocate funds on an as-needed basis. In addition, the city plans to create a full-fledged veterans’ hub at the expense of donors.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council reported that the enemy attacked Marhanets community of Nikopol district with artillery. They fired about half a dozen shells. Due to the shelling a 45-year-old resident of Nikopol was killed. Two people were wounded – a 16-year-old girl and a 66-year-old man. In total, the area was attacked 15 times during the day. They used artillery and kamikaze drones. In Nikopol two enterprises, 16 private houses, several outbuildings, fences, a minibus, a car, 4 power lines and a gas pipeline, and 6 solar panels were damaged. The shelling caused a fire: the fire destroyed an outbuilding with a car inside. The occupiers also hit Myrove, Marhanets and Pokrovsk communities. There 11 residential buildings, 6 outbuildings, cars, gas pipelines and power lines were damaged. About 2,000 homes in Pokrovsk community were left without electricity and power engineers are working to restore it.

Kirovohrad oblast

Residents of Oleksandriia community in Kirovohrad oblast raised UAH 1,034 000 for drones for the military. The campaign started before Christmas.

Poltava oblast

Philip Pronin, Head of Poltava RMA reported that a special vehicle, a thermal imager and a shockproof tablet were transferred to the military from Poltava region. The vehicle has iron-reinforced sides and a reinforced floor. A built-in stove allows the driver’s cabin to be heated autonomously.

Cherkasy oblast

The Circle of Protection project was implemented in Cherkasy for two months. Psychologists, volunteers, soldiers, and their families worked together to learn how to communicate with the military during their time on the frontline and after they return home to avoid stress and misunderstandings.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that the defence forces successfully repelled an attack by russian military in the Robotyne area within Zaporizhzhia oblast.

On January 5, the russian military conducted 131 strikes targeting various cities and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The areas affected by the shelling included Robotyne, Piatykhatky, Orihiv, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Levadne, Luhivske, Scherbaky, Poltavka, Bilohirya, Kamianske, and Lobkove.

Ivan Fedorov, Mayor of Melitopol, reported that in the temporarily occupied city of Melitopol, occupiers are changing the ethnic composition of the population. Local unemployed residents are being encouraged through an employment center under occupation to migrate to russia for job opportunities. Instead, russians are coming to the city. Presently, approximately 50% of the city’s residents are russians.

Mykolaiv oblast

In the morning update from the Mykolaiv RMA on January 6, it was reported that on January 5, the russian military carried out shelling on the settlements of Kutsurub and Ochakiv communities in Mykolaiv oblast. There were no casualties or injuries reported. The region’s air defense forces successfully intercepted two antiradar missiles, X-31P, and one offensive drone. As a result of the enemy shelling targeting Kutsurub community settlement, a farm enterprise suffered damage to its buildings and equipment.

Odesa oblast

The “Technari” volunteer group’s engineers in Odesa remain dedicated to advancing air defense systems. Recently, they conducted field tests for an in-house innovation, an electro-optical sight named “Valli,” on the front lines. This sight underwent installation on the aging Soviet-era anti-aircraft missile systems referred to as “Strila-10”, typically challenged in detecting small reconnaissance drones. One of the air defense systems of the marines was equipped with the new sight. On January 2, along Kherson front, the upgraded “Strila-10” air defense system effectively neutralized two russian reconnaissance drones – Zala and Supercam – instrumental in guiding “Lancet” kamikaze drones. Based on the feedback from air defense experts, preparations have begun for the initial series production, tailored for the naval infantry and Southern ground forces.

Kherson oblast

Dariivka community in Kherson oblast was targeted by russian military, resulting in two nine-year-old brothers sustaining shrapnel injuries and being hospitalized.

Kherson RMA informed about a man injured in the shelling of Tyahynka in Kherson oblast. He was hospitalised with mine-blast injuries and a broken arm.

According to the Southern Defense Forces, Ukrainian forces operating on the left bank of Kherson oblast successfully destroyed three observation points and two UAV control points belonging to russian mlitary. The Ukrainian forces also neutralized various enemy assets, including a “Grad” multiple rocket launcher system, two “Supercam” drones, a mortar, a boat, the “Murom-M” video surveillance complex, a communication relay, five armored vehicles, and captured 10 russian military personnel.

Olexandr Prokudin, Head of the Kherson RMA reported that on January 5, russian military conducted 112 attacks in Kherson oblast, targeting an enterprise in Kherson district. One person was killed, and five others sustained injuries.

Kherson RMA updated that the russian military shelled Tyahynka community on January 5 destroying the village council building, modular houses hosted internally displaced persons, a humanitarian aid warehouse, and private vehicles.

In Kherson, the ArtHub shelter hosted a video exhibition titled “Forbidden”, focusing on the life of Vasyl Stus. The collaborative project between Kherson and Kropyvnytskyi theaters was based on a play by Artemiy Kirsanov and Serhiy Dziuba. Directed by Serhiy Pavlyuk, the exhibition was part of the All-Ukrainian and International Festival “Stus-Fest”, dedicated to commemorating the poet’s birthday.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The RMA reported that they sent 2 cars to the 2nd separate rifle battalion from Volyn, which is currently in Zaporizhzhia oblast, and to Volyn border guards, who will carry out combat missions in the east of Ukraine.

Zakarpattia oblast

In the Owl’s Nest Humanitarian Aid Center, IDPs registered in Uzhhorod received: 50 packages with necessary things for children under 1 year old; 50 packages with food and hygiene kits, clothes, shoes, bed linen and dishes (1 650 units were issued) thanks to PDUM Partnerschaft Deutschland-Ukraine/Moldova e. V., Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen / Wings of Help e.V. and other benefactors.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

As of January 3, 2024, 123 422 IDPs or (87 580 families) were registered in the Unified Information Database on Internally Displaced Persons in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, of which: persons of working age – 56 903, persons in need of employment – ​​5 197 persons with disabilities – 4 082, pensioners – 16 939, children – 36 887, others – 3 414.

A Christmas Miracle charity concert by Khrystyna Darvai and a charity auction to raise funds for the military took place at the Ira Malaniuk Regional Philharmonic. Part of the funds from ticket sales will also be donated to the 78th Battalion of the 102nd Territorial Defense Brigade.

Lviv oblast

Lviv community sent aid for the military in the total amount of UAN 16.5 mln, included, 420 fpv drones (UAH 5 mln); 4 cars (UAH 5 mln); 30 drones (Mavic 3/Mavic 3T/Autel 4T) (UAH 5 mln); gas station (UAH 500K); batteries for drones (UAH 300K); and other smaller equipment.

Oblast sent platform trailers and backhoe loaders weto the 45th separate artillery brigades for arrange positions (dugouts, trenches and shelters) thanks to the funds of Lviv RMA.

During the 8th All-Ukrainian Charitable Choreography Festival Winter Patterns-2023 were collected UAH 69K for the needs of the Armed Forces. The event took place within the artistic project “For you, Warrior!”. 33 artistic groups of Lviv oblast took part in it.

In the center of Sambor, a multimedia interactive information board was installed with the names and portraits of the Heroes we lost in the russian-Ukrainian war. It is currently in test mode. Students of Susidivska School named after Roman Tsap, located in Sambir region, raised UAH 61,8K and 100 zlotys to purchase of drones for the 80th separate airborne assault brigades of the Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Rivne oblast

The communities of Rivne oblast continue to buy drones and strengthen the combat capability of the army. Military drones were sent from Rokytnivska, Derazhnenska, Buhrynska, Bilokrynytska, Stepanska, Koretska, Velikomezhyritska, Babinska communities. A drone named after employees of the department of education, culture, youth and sports of Horodotsk village council sent to the front. A drone was sent to Rivne reconnaissance battalion by the staff of Hoshchan district hospital.

In Rivne oblast, 103 medical institutions that provide primary medical care provide free psychological assistance. These are family medics, pediatricians and therapists. Today, 277 medics provide this service for adults and children in these institutions.

Mykola Aleksuk, graduate of the Ukrainian Film School and actor of the Improv Theater in Lviv, was killed at the front. Mykola served as part of the 12th special purpose brigade Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine in the southern and eastern directions. The hero was killed in battle in Serebriansk forest in Luhansk oblast on December 16, 2023. He was buried on January 1 at the military cemetery of Lychakiv cemetery.

Ternopil oblast

From January 9 to 26, Ternopil regional organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine will resume registration for winter cash assistance for certain categories of IDPs in the oblast. Only those persons who have not registered for assistance within the last 3 months will be able to register.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

At night, during the air alarm signal, the air defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated 3 Shahed UAVs. There was no information about the injured or the killed.

Chernivtsi oblast

The Tactical Group 4.5.0 NGO opened a hub for defenders. If necessary, military men and women can spend the night there free of charge. The hub is equipped with everything necessary for living: they can heat food, drink hot water, take a shower and relax.

Defender Oleksii Knippenberh, returned to Bukovyna from enemy captivity. After the start of the full-scale invasion, Oleksii brought his family to Chernivtsi oblast, and he himself joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
