What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The enemy launched 6 missile and 5 air strikes and conducted about 10 MLRS attacks, targeting  settlements and civilians. There remains a danger of further russian missile strikes throughout Ukraine.

Towards Volyn, Polissia, Siversk and Sloboda, the operational situation remains without significant changes, no enemy offensive groups were detected. Stukalivka, Pavlivka, Hyrine and Katerynivka in Sumy oblast, as well as Starytsia, Vovchansk, Ohirtseve and Bolohivka in Kharkiv oblast were shelled. The occupiers conducted airstrikes on Veterynarne and Rubizhne.

Towards Kupyansk and Lyman, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Masiutivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka, Spirne, Fedorivka, and Serebryanske forestry. It shelled the areas around settlements, including Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Hrianykivka, Kupiansk, Kyslivka, Berestove in Kharkiv oblast and Makiivka, Nevske, Dibrova and Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast. There were air strikes near Hryanykivka and Spirne. 

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy continues to attack the positions of our troops, making several unsuccessful attempts near the settlements of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Berkhivka, Ivanivske and Pivnichne in Donetsk oblast. 18 settlements were shelled, including Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka and Niu York in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Avdiivka and Shakhtarske, the enemy conducted offensive actions in the areas of Avdiivka, Vodiane, Pervomayske, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka, but was unsuccessful. They shelled with artillery the localities of Avdiivka, Vodyane, Horoshne, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar and Prechystivka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhya sector, 12 settlements were hit, including Vremivka and Novopil in Donetsk oblast; Olhivske, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Bilohiria and Kamianska in Zaporizhzhia oblast; Marhanets and Nikopol, Dnipropetrovska oblast.

Towards Kherson sector, Novoberislav, Kherson oblast, and the city of Kherson suffered from enemy artillery fire. 

In the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts, russian occupiers are increasing pressure on civilians and conducting house searches. It is known that in the city of Vasylivka, Zaporizhzhia oblast, russians have set up a torture chamber where pro-Ukrainian citizens are being held.

All units of the so-called ‘law enforcement agencies’ in Donetsk oblast will start operating under russian law on March 1, 2023. In this regard, the dismissal of soldiers of the 1st Army Corps (Horlivka), who have reached the end of their military service, was announced.

Aviation of the Defense Forces conducted 4 strikes on buildups of occupants’ personnel and military equipment.

Rocket and artillery units struck 2 buildups of enemy manpower, a radar station and an electronic warfare station.


The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine informs that the draft law On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Protection of the State Border was adopted. The law enables extending the Ukrainian border with Belarus and Russia to 2 kilometers to mine the territory. It will also regulate the issue of involving the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and the National Police in the tasks of protecting the state border and define the place of border guards in the overall system of the Defense Forces during martial law.

The press service of Ukrenergo reports that there has been no capacity shortage for 2 weeks. All types of power plants are currently operating. Power is imported in small volumes. However, due to significant damage in Odesa, hourly blackouts are still in effect.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the occupiers conducted several unsuccessful offensive actions. More than two dozen settlements in Kharkiv oblast came under fire. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Hrianikyvka, Rubizhne, and Veterynarne.

The results of the year in the indomitable Kharkiv region have been summed up. According to head of the Kharkiv RMA, Oleh Syniehubov, 526 settlements have been de-occupied. 1.9 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were collected. 64.6 K tons of humanitarian aid were distributed. Restoration works on 461 objects have been fully completed.

More than 600 km of state roads have been cleared of the consequences of hostilities. 18 temporary bridges have been erected. 80% of electricity supply, 77% of gas supply, and 100% of boiler houses for heat supply (planned for commissioning) have been restored in the de-occupied territories. Railway connections with 50 settlements freed from occupation and a total of 138 bus routes have been restored. Ukrposhta started working again in 519 settlements. Kharkiv oblast hosted 382.9 K forcibly displaced persons. 363 Invincibility Centres were established.

After the de-occupation of Kharkiv Oblast, 169 people were blown up with ammunition, 39 of them killed. Mine danger in the oblast remains significant.

Environmental damage in the amount of more than 349 billion hryvnias as a result of hostilities in Kharkiv oblast was recorded by the regional State Environmental Inspection. 624 hectares of forests and other plantations burned during the full-scale war.

A year after the beginning of the russian invasion of Ukraine, 5 rescuers and 6 sappers were killed in Kharkiv oblast, according to the data of the Regional Emergency Service.

On February 24, the “Sports Angels” photo exhibition dedicated to athletes who died during the full-scale war was opened at the “University” metro station in Kharkiv. The exhibition will be open until March 9.

In 20 libraries of Kharkiv oblast, volunteers are holding the “Ukrainian Future” campaign. Its goal is to popularize books among children. According to volunteers, the number of readers has tripled.

Mayor Ihor Terekhov says that Kharkiv needs up to 120 trams as the fleet suffered significant damage during the war, the city plans to purchase  new trams in the future.

Yesterday, the enemy continued shelling the border settlements of Kupiansk and Chuhuiv regions of Kharkiv oblast. Yesterday morning, the enemy launched a missile attack on Kupiansk. A residential building was damaged. As a result of repeated shelling of the city after 21:30, one more private house was damaged, and a large-scale fire broke out. A residential building and outbuildings were damaged in Podola, Kupiansk region. A residential building was also damaged in Synelnykovo, the Vovchansk community of the Chuhuiv region. There were no casualties.

Humanitarian demining continues in the oblast. Pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service defused 14 explosive objects.

Donetsk oblast

During the year of full-scale war in Kramatorsk, 77 people were killed and more than a thousand houses were damaged by russian shelling. Kramatorsk City Council summed up losses in the city since February 24, 2022.

The russian army shelled 17 populated areas of Donetsk oblast with S-300 air defense systems, Grads, Uragans, artillery, and mortars. russian troops covered Avdiivka, Severna, Lastochkina, Tonenka with Grads, and Bohoiavlenka with Uragans. Three S-300 missiles were directed at the Kramatorsk region.

Towards Donetsk, the russian military used Smerches with a high-explosive warhead in Dachne of the Kurakhiv community, where four houses were damaged. Kurakhove, Kurakhivka and Hostre also came under fire, with one house destroyed and another 12 damaged.

In less than a day, the russians shelled Avdiivka twice with artillery, once with tanks, launched an anti-aircraft missile strike, and also struck with Grads. Shells and rockets flew over residential quarters and an industrial zone at least 1 person was injured. With an air strike, the russians destroyed school No. 2 the main school, which was opened only in 2021 after a complete reconstruction. The government of Lithuania helped us with its repair, and allocated more than EUR 700 K for the latest equipment.

Towards Volnovakha, the russians launched a missile attack on Rozhlyv, the Velyka Novosylkivka community. Vugledar, Novoukrainka and Bohoiavlenka are under fire, with 2 houses damaged.

Towards Donetsk, the russians used Uragans with a high-explosive warhead in Dachne Kurakhove community, damaging 4 houses. Kurakhove, Kurakhivka, and Hostre were also under shelling – 1 house was destroyed and another 12 damaged. Artillery shelling continued at Marinka, Krasnohorivka, and Yelyzavetivka during the night, and in the morning residential quarters of Avdiivka were shelled 4 times with artillery. Prohresyvne of the Hrodivska community was hit by a missile 2 houses were damaged.

Towards Horlivka, the russians launched a rocket attack on Kostiantynivka, damaging a kindergarten and 4 high-rise buildings, and injuring 1 person. 3 houses were damaged in Toretsk community, and 15 in the Soledar community. A school in Minkivka was also damaged.

Towards Lysychansk, the Zvanivka community was affected: 10 houses were damaged in Zvanivka, more than 30 in Pereizne. Several houses were damaged in Siversk, and at least 1 in Lyman.

Head of Donetsk RMA Pavlo Kyrilenko says that russians wounded 5 civilians of Donetsk oblast: 2 in Chasiv Yar, 1 in Bakhmut, Donetske and Kostiantynivka.

On February 24, the russian military carried out 37 assaults towards Donetsk, and on the night of February 25, six assaults. The russian army also carried out ten airstrikes in this direction. The military conducts assault operations to retrieve their dead and wounded soldiers, but they do not retrieve all of them.

Residents of occupied Mariupol heard explosions on the night of February 25. According to the adviser of the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andryushchenko, it was confirmed that the combat kits of the russian troops were hit. Two infantry fighting vehicles, one tank, one self-propelled artillery were destroyed, and about fifty occupiers killed and wounded.The General Staff reported that the commander of the Eastern group of troops Oleksandr Syrskyi visited the units of the Defense Forces defending Bakhmut in Donetsk oblast.

Luhansk oblast

Towards Kupiansk and Lyman, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to knock out our units from Serebriansk forestry. Stelmakhivka, Makiivka, Dibrova and Bilohorivka came under enemy fire.

According to Head of the Luhansk RMA, Serhii Haidai, the russian offensive does not cease in any direction – neither on Svativsk, nor on Kreminna. However, all the enemy’s efforts have been unsuccessful in recent days.

The Luhansk RMA informs that the russians unsuccessfully tried to knock out our units from Serebryansk forestry. The entrepreneurs of the captured Luhansk oblast will be held accountable, and the archives will be taken away. In order to prevent possible desertion of mobilized russians or sabotage, on February 23, up to 200 police officers from the special purpose regiment “Akhmat” were additionally dispatched towards Bakhmut.

Kyiv oblast

Delegations of the Union of Parliamentarians of the EU Member States “United for Ukraine” (U4U), the parliamentary delegation of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, representatives of the Permanent Delegations of foreign countries to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and groups on inter-parliamentary relations with Ukraine of national parliaments of foreign countries visited Kyiv oblast on February 24.

The delegations visited the city of Irpin, where they inspected residential buildings and a stadium destroyed by the russian army, the ‘cemetery’ of destroyed cars that came under enemy fire during evacuation, the destroyed Romaniv bridge, through which in March 2022, about 40K people managed to evacuate from the temporarily occupied territory of Kyiv oblast.

Ukrzaliznytsia reported that on the anniversary of the full-scale russian invasion to Ukraine, a memorial stone was erected at the Central Railway Station of Kyiv in honor of the railway workers who were killed due to the russian aggression. Later, the “Zaliznym na Nebi” monument will be erected at this place. During the year of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 819 railway workers were injured, and 353 workers killed.

The Kyiv RMA reported that training for sappers is being conducted in the Vyshhorod region. The participants will be practicing the skills of extracting and liquidating explosive objects. 

The KCSA reported that the Kyiv authorities will involve a group of citizens to monitor the condition of the shelters. The public monitoring group “OZON” will provide the Department of Municipal Security with a database of addresses of problematic shelters, where either there are no signs leading to the shelter, or the shelter is closed or does not exist there. The relevant services will inspect the locations and instruct the owners of the premises regarding the proper condition of the shelters.

There are more than 4K shelters of various types in the capital. Their location can be seen on the map on the Official City Portal. Over the past year, 398 civil defense structures were added in Kyiv.

A shelter was set up in St. Andrew’s Church in Kyiv where you can charge your gadgets and use the Internet. The Invincibility Cenre is located in the stylobate (lower) part of St. Andrew’s Church. Built into the hill and protected on three sides by layers of concrete and soil, this room is a safe haven in the event of an air raid. The shelter can accommodate up to 40 people.

On the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of russia, the National Museum of the History of Ukraine opened the exhibition “Azovstal: New Meanings”. The exhibition includes 12 stories of defenders of Azovstal who were killed in the war. Photos and belongings of military personnel and their biographies are placed in glass boxes. In the hall there is a tablet with a message from the Azovstal military to their relatives. There are also photos of Dmytro Kozatsky, a soldier of the “Azov” regiment, known as Orest.

In Kyiv, a 45-meter-long canvas with a photo of a 5-year-old girl Valeria from Kryvyi Rih, who fled the war with her parents to Poland was unveiled on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of russia. The huge canvas was unfurled in many European countries,  but this was unfurled for the first time in Kyiv. With this performance, French artist JR and his team seek to draw attention to the problem of internally displaced persons who have left Ukraine due to russian aggression.

Zhytomyr oblast

The postage stamp “PTN PNH! (F**k you, putin!)”, issued on the anniversary of the full-scale russian invasion to Ukraine, was canceled in Zhytomyr. The total circulation of the symbolic postage stamp is one and a half million copies, 2% of which will be sold in post offices of the Zhytomyr oblast. Since the stamp is charitable, the postmen want to direct part of the proceeds to the reconstruction of educational institutions bombed by the russian invaders.

The Zhytomyr City Council reported that the tram route is planned to be restored in the regional center. After February 27, the oblast and regional centers will receive clear limits on electricity consumption from Ukrenergo. According to preliminary forecasts, Zhytomyr will be able to resume tram traffic. Currently, preparatory work is underway to resume the route at the beginning of the week.

A safe space for women and girls “Vilna” was opened in Zhytomyr. You can get psychological and social assistance, informational support regarding services related to combating gender-based violence, and also relax with your children. The project is implemented on the initiative of Innovative Social Solutions within the humanitarian response of UNFPA and USAID support.

Sumy oblast

The Sumy RMA reported that the russians shelled the communities of Nova Sloboda, Krasnopillia, Khotyn, and Yunakivka. A total of 47 mortar and artillery strikes were recorded. At night, the enemy shelled Nova Sloboda and Bilopillia communities.

The ‘North’ Operational Command reported that the enemy fired 8 shots from barrel artillery in the area of Katerynivka settlement from the territory of the russian federation. There are no losses among personnel and equipment.

The Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office has started a pre-trial investigation into the attack by the russian military on a Zhuravka-Suma minibus nearf Vodolahy of the Khotyn community, which took place on February 24. According to law enforcement officials, a minibus was targeted with an anti-tank guided missile from the territory of the russian federation. As a result of the shelling, the car burned to the ground, the minibus driver and three passengers were taken to the regional hospital with injuries.

The Sumy RMA reported that 13 medical facilities have been fully restored and 11 partially restored in the oblast. As a result of enemy shelling, 39 objects in 26 medical institutions were damaged. Two dispensaries and one paramedic-midwifery center were completely destroyed, 6 buildings suffered significant destruction.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the humanitarian headquarters at the Sumy RMA has received 725 wagons of humanitarian aid weighing more than 14.3 thousand tons by rail alone. According to the information of the territorial communities, in 2022 humanitarian aid was received from various donors in the total amount of more than 18 thousand tons and during January 2023 more than 807 tons.

The Sumy RMA reported that international organizations actively participated in equipping the Invincibility Centres with the necessary equipment and provided 426 generators. In addition, 33 territorial communities received 342 generators of various capacities from donors. The International Organization for Migration organized the delivery of coal for 1,270 households in 7 communities of the oblast (in the amount of 2 tons per household).

Chernihiv oblast

The State Border Service reported that the enemy opened fire from 120 mm mortars along the border of the Novhorod-Siverskyi community from the territory of the russian federation, There wer 4 explosions.

The Chernihiv RMA reported that the government program on energy efficiency is being successfully implemented in the oblast. Residents of the oblast exchanged more than 146K old incandescent lamps for new energy-saving LED lamps within the program. Until today, the service was available in cities and towns of urban type, from tomorrow it will be possible to use it in villages.

The “PTN PNH (F**k you, putin)” postage stamp was canceled near the damaged building of the Main Post Office in Chernihiv. Director of the Chernihiv branch of “Ukrposhta” Olena Doroshenko said that “This is our message to the entire “russian world”. This is the emotion of those who lived and worked in Chernihiv under shelling, who defended our city, and helped survive in those terrible conditions of the active phase of the war in Chernihiv oblast. Therefore, I believe that we have the right to speak and name our message without abbreviations”.

Additional cell phone towers will be installed in the border community of Semenivka. The city council granted the permission for their establishment on the territory of the border villages. It is expected that in the future this will improve the quality of mobile communications in the territories bordering the russian federation.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional council reported that the occupiers attacked Nikopol and Marhanets with heavy artillery 9 times during the night, hitting residential areas. In Nikopol, 10 five-storey buildings and 11 private houses, farm buildings, 3 educational institutions, 2 private enterprises, a store, an administrative building, a car, gas furnaces, and electricity networks were mutilated. In Marhanets, a car was burnt due to the shelling. 12 private houses, 10 farm buildings, a car, a gas pipeline, and a power line were damaged.

In the afternoon, the Chervonohryhorivka community was attacked with heavy artillery. As a result of the attack, a power line was damaged in one of the villages there. The Synelnykove region was also attacked with heavy artillery: the occupiers hit the outskirts of the village of Ternove of the Velykomykhailivka community.

Vinnytsia oblast

The first million hryvnias was collected​​ through the sale of souvenirs in the USA. The “Destroy the Tank” project is implemented by Vinnytsia volunteers together with the Americans, with the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense of the Ministry of Defense. The funds will be used to help the Defense Forces and families whose relatives suffered from the russian aggression, as well as families of prisoners of war.

Poltava oblast

The regional Department of Education and Science announced the establishment of a unit for teaching primary military skills to young people on the basis of the Poltava Regional Center for National and Patriotic Education. The newly created center will serve as the basis for a separate regional inter-school resource center. 

Cherkasy oblast

In the center of the “365 Days of Unbreakable” installation, the sculpture called “War is Pain” was placed. The work symbolizes the mutilated, torn, but live heart of Ukraine. It was created by Cherkasy sculptor Roman Turetskyi.

Zaporizhzhia oblast

The Zaporizhzhia RMA reports that the russian forces shelled civilian infrastructure in Malynivka, Novodanylivka, Huliaipole, Olhivske, Charivne, Chervone, Mala Tokmachka, Poltavka, Novoandriivka, Bilohiria, Chervona Krynytsia, Sviatopetrivka, Huliaipilske, Orikhiv, Mali Shcherbaky, Kamianske, Lukianivka, Stepove, Stepnohirsk, Tavriiske. 13 reports of destruction of civilian houses (apartments) and infrastructure facilities as a result of shelling were received. 

As the National Police reports during the shelling of Stepnohirsk with Grads, the occupiers partially destroyed the building of a secondary school and the yard. Debris shattered walls and windows, damaged classrooms and school property. The apartments of a local high-rise building and the warehouse of an agricultural enterprise were also damaged by hostile fire. An elderly man was injured.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that russian invaders arranged a torture chamber in the temporarily occupied Vasylivka. They are holding pro-Ukrainian residents there.  In addition, in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts, russian troops have intensified pressure on civilians and are conducting house searches. 

Mykolaiv oblast

On February 24, the enemy carried out mortar attacks on the waters of the Ochakiv community. According to the Mykolaiv RMA, there were no casualties.

A boarding school in Mykolaiv has become home to nearly 150 internally displaced people. Among them are residents of destroyed villages in Mykolaiv and Kherson oblasts. Most of the residents are large families, elderly people or people with disabilities.

Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych said that foreign partners are constantly providing important assistance to the city to ensure its vital functions. Today, parks are cleaned with equipment from Dortmund and Hannover, windows covered with OSB boards from Denmark. water supply pipes are repaired with materials from Denmark. Family outpatient clinics and hospitals have ambulances from Narbonne and other cities, from people from Nova Ukraine. The water treatment plants were brought from all over the world – Israel, America, Denmark, Germany, and France. The mayor also reminded that German partners are allocating 5 million euros to support the reconstruction of Mykolaiv and Kharkiv, while Italian architects are developing a master plan.

Odesa oblast

The ‘South’ Operational Command reports that the russian military has doubled the number of warships in the Black Sea. Now there are nine of them on duty. Among the russian ships, there is one missile carrier with eight Kalibr missiles on board. No activity has been recorded so far.

In Odesa, an installation dedicated to fallen soldiers appeared on Soborna Square. Relatives and friends of the victims lit candles. The installation – information cubes with photos of the soldiers and their biographies – tells the stories of the fallen guys, most of whom were not in the military before the war and went to the front as volunteers.

On the evening of February 24, the railway station building, as well as the Odesa Opera and the architectural monument on Pushkinska Street, suddenly ‘blossomed’ with bright colors from a light projection. There were reproductions of wartime photos, abstractions in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, Ukrainian sunflowers, and our constant symbol and attribute – the red viburnum. All this beauty is a gift to the residents and guests of Odesa from the famous Swiss light artist Gary Hofstetter, the author of large-scale light installations. Previously, he had already ‘painted’ many buildings around the world in this way. Today, the artist and his team have organized a light show on the facades of the Russov House, the New Market, the Ukrainian Theater, and the Art Museum. The event in Odesa is part of the art tour of Ukrainian cities “Honoring Memory. Light is hope”, dedicated to the anniversary of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The purpose of this event is to demonstrate the strength of spirit and resilience of the Ukrainian people.

Kherson oblast

According to  the Kherson Regional Military Administration, russian occupiers shelled Kherson. Three people were injured. 

According to Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, on February 24, the russian invaders attacked civilian settlements in the oblast 83 times, firing from MLRS, mortars, artillery, tanks and UAVs. The russian army shelled Kherson 9 times. The occupiers hit residential buildings, a preschool and a medical facility. 1 person was wounded.

Near the village of Dobrianka in the Vysokopillia community, two people were killed by a russian mine while cultivating a field. Moreover, in Kherson, a 63-year-old man blew up on a tripwire in his summer house near the river port. He was hospitalized. According to the Interior Ministry, mine clearance of Ukraine’s territory after the russian invasion will take years. 

A modular medical aid station has been set up in the village of Nova Kamianka, Mylove territorial community. The center has a supply of medicines and comfortable furniture. The mobile structure was handed over to the community by the independent medical humanitarian organization Médecins Sans Frontières and the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

Volyn oblast

The Novovolynsk City Council reported that from March 1 to 3, IDPs living in the community will be able to apply for financial aid from the Czech humanitarian organization Man in Need with the support of the US.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA reported that a new shelter for IDPs was opened in the Berehove region. 25 Ukrainians who evacuated from the war zone will live here in separate comfortable rooms.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the independent international medical humanitarian organization Medics without Borders. They discussed the needs and assistance to IDPs with disabilities and cooperation.

Lviv oblast

The RMA reported that since the war began, over 380K people have arrived in Lviv oblast by evacuation trains. Since May 2022, over 5K people have arrived by bus.

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the Belgian Catholic Conference of Bishops, supporting Ukraine was discussed.

In the RMA a meeting with founders of the German Medical Intervention Team (MIT) foundation, Barum Sarkar and Tarun Sarkar, and Head of the European healthcare company Frezenius, Stefan Sturm was held. They discussed the situation in the oblast after a year of full-scale war.

Volunteers of the Strii community, who will protect strategic objects, received 49 bulletproof vests from LOK – Lviv Defense Cluster with the assistance of the Lviv RMA.

The RMA reported that in Lviv, a large passenger bus was sent to the military provided by the Hosanna church community.

The RMA reported that educational institutions of the Kamianka-Buzka community collected almost UAH 125K to purchase a car for a soldier from Kamianka-Buzka and his military brothers, who are now in the Bakhmut region.

On the anniversary of the invasion, the Swiss artist Gerry Hofstetter illuminated the prominent buildings of Lviv. Art projections on buildings are dedicated to the anniversary of the full-scale war in Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian symbols of indomitability.

The exhibition communism=rushism organized by the Branch State Archive of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance was presented in the park of Lviv. Eight stands tell 13 stories of Ukrainians from the 20th and 21st centuries who suffered from the communist and rushism regimes.

Rivne oblast

A new shelter of 166 square meters was built in the Rivne Regional Perinatal Center. There is a delivery room with an operating room, an intensive care and intensive care unit, and a sanitary room. The shelter was repaired with regional funds.

The photo exhibition Fierce (February) Year of the War, which presents photos of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service was opened in Rivne. Head of Rivne, Oleksandr Tretiak, announced that on February 24, twin cities of Rivne showed solidarity with Ukraine, on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion. In particular, in Berlin (Germany), at the town hall of Burgomaster Pankov, the flag of Ukraine flies solemnly. In the city of Essen (Germany), a rally of solidarity with Ukraine took place. Head of the city of Rivne, Oleksandr Tretiak, had the opportunity to address Ukrainians in the city of Ussen through a video address on a large screen. The city of Zabrze (Poland) organized the Concert for Peace! Psalms of Love and Hope. In the city of Federal Way (the US), the Ukrainian flag was raised near the city council. In the city of Zvolen (Slovakia), a live broadcast was organized where the authorities and the public of the partner city discussed further ways of supporting Ukraine.

Ternopil oblast

A soldier from Ternopil oblast was posthumously awarded with the title of Hero of Ukraine and the title of Man of the Year in Warsaw. A year ago, on February 24, Vitalii Skakun stopped the advance of the enemy in Kherson oblast at the cost of his own life.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The rescuers of the Khmelnytskyi region administration, together with the local self-government bodies, conducted an inspection of the anti-radiation shelters of the Solobkovets village council. During the inspection, the rescuers checked access to the shelter, the ventilation system, water supply, lighting and the availability of primary fire extinguishing equipment.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that 30 pairs of tires for military equipment, namely, 12 pairs for freight transport, 12 for buses and 6 for SUVs, were sent to units of the Chernivtsi Territorial Defense from benefactors.

The Chernivtsi regional organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine provided the oblast with 13 10 kW generators. They will be installed in facilities where IDPs are staying.

The action Angels of the Heavenly Legion under the slogan Draw an Angel – Save the Memory took place in schools of Chernivtsi oblast. Students of Bukovyna drew hundreds of angels that represent the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

According to UN estimates, a year after the start of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, over 13 million people still cannot return to their homes. About 8 million of them are refugees in Europe and over 5 million are IDPs.

The EU agreed to the tenth package of anti-russian sanctions. “The EU states introduced the toughest and broadest sanctions in history to help Ukraine win the war,” emphasized the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU. 121 individuals and legal entities were included in the sanctions list. In addition, import/export restrictions and a ban on russian propaganda media have been introduced.

The US State Department stated that the government has started allocating additional budget support to Ukraine in the total amount of almost $10 billion.

The World Bank announced additional grant funding for Ukraine in the amount of $2.5 billion.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Melanie Joly, announced that Canada sent Ukraine a new package of financial support worth over $32 million.

Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, announced that Ukraine will receive another 60 post-soviet tanks, including the PT-91 Twardy. According to him, tanks will be delivered to Ukraine ‘within a few days’.

Minister of Defense, Paul Jonson, announced that Sweden will supply Ukraine with Hawk and IRIS-T air defense systems.

The Ministry of Defense reported that Germany will send 18 Leopard tanks to Ukraine instead of the promised 14. 

Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, announced that the country will provide Ukraine with four Leopard 2 tanks, an armored recovery vehicle and over 5K 155 mm rounds.

The International Anti-Money Laundering Group (FATF) indefinitely suspended russia’s membership. The organization recognized the Resolution of the UN General Assembly, which requires russia to immediately, completely and unconditionally withdraw its troops from the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders. FATF noted that it condemns russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine.

Starting March 10, 2023, the US will introduce a 200% tariff on russian aluminum and its derivatives. In a month, this will be extended to goods made from Russian aluminum in third countries.

Justin Trudeau reported that Canada imposed sanctions on 129 individuals and 63 legal entities, including deputy prime ministers of russia, ministers, and officials of the administration of the president of russia.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the meeting of G7 leaders. Supporting Ukraine was discussed.

Head of the Westminster City Council, Adam Hoog, announced that part of one of London’s streets will be renamed Kyiv Road in honor of the first anniversary of moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

Yesterday in Great Britain, a moment of silence was observed in memory of the fallen Ukrainians. “To all Ukrainians. We are with you. In unity and solidarity. Glory to Ukraine,” Prime Minister Rishi Sunak wrote on his Twitter.

In Austria, on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation into Ukraine, a March of Light was held. According to the police, about 8K people took part in it. Participants illuminated the path with their phones and chanted slogans in support of Ukraine’s struggle against the russian aggressor.

A tallest skyscraper in Taiwan was lit up with the colors of the Ukrainian flag on the anniversary of the invasion of the russian federation. On February 24, the President of Taiwan Tsai Ing-wen also declared her solidarity with Ukraine.

Yesterday, a 365 Days of Struggle march took place in London. The rally started near the monument to Volodymyr the Great, from there participants went to the russian embassy.

The National Anthem of Ukraine was sung in the Lithuanian Diet on the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of russia. In this way, the Lithuanian community reminded the world that the country will stand by the Ukrainians until the final victory.

In Prague, a protest performance was held near the russian embassy. Participants beheaded the russian eagle and threw paintballs at the walls of the embassy.

A rally in support of Ukraine was held in Tbilisi. Both Ukrainians who found temporary shelter in Georgia and local residents came out to support Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and to honor the fallen.

In the center of the city of Joensuu (Finland) a Candle of Peace rally took place. Participants sang the national anthem of Ukraine and Red Viburnum and made the Pacific from candles – the international symbol of peace.
