It has been the 724th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

On February 17, there were 63 combat engagements. The enemy launched a total of 4 missile and 61 air strikes, carried out 79 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks resulted in killed and wounded civilians. Residential private and apartment buildings, healthcare institutions and critical infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group were noticed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Slobozda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Stohnii, Chorne, Sadovod (Kharkiv oblast). More than 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Karpovychi, Leonivka (Chernihiv oblast), Seredyna-Buda, Vilna Sloboda, Holyshivske, Veselivka, Mohrytsya, Mykhailivske, Yizdetske (Sumy oblast), Hur’iv Kozachok, Veterynarne, Vovchans’ki Khutory, Bochkove, Kruhle, and Ozerne (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the russian army conducted no offensives. The invaders launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Synkivka, Petropavlivka, and Kupiansk (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 assaults near Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Terny, and Yampolivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area the invaders, with air support, made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Makiivka and Serebrianka forestry (Luhansk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Torske, Serebryanka, Verkhnokamanske, and Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 7 attacks in the vicinities of Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast), where the occupiers, with air support, made attempts to improve their tactical situation. Around 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Vasyukivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, and Niu York (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 attacks in the vicinity of Lastochkyne (Donetsk oblast). On top of that, the russian occupiers launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Orlivka (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at up to 20 settlements, including Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Lastochkyne, and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Marinka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders in the vicinities of Heorhiivka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the invaders made 21 attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Paraskoviivka, and Kostyantynivka were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Novopavlivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 2 attacks south of Prechystivka and west of Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast), where the invaders, with air support, made attempts to improve their tactical situation. Also, the enemy launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Vuhledar (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Vodyane, Zolota Nyva, Staromaiorske, and Rivnopil (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 4 attacks west of Verbove and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). The enemy launched an airstrike near Novodarivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast). More than 20 settlements, including Levadne, Malynivka, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Novoandriivka, and Lobkove (Zaporizhzhia oblast), were under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, Odesa operational-strategic group,  the occupiers have not abandoned their intention to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. During the day, the enemy made 2 attempts to assault positions of Ukrainian troops. The settlements of Beryslav, Antonivka, Sofiivka (Kherson oblast), and the city of Ochakiv (Mykolaiv oblast) came under artillery and mortar fire. The enemy also shelled Kherson with MLRS strikes.

The Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 14 buildups of troops, 3 anti-aircraft missile systems of the occupiers. On top of that, along the eastern sector, Ukrainian Air Force units destroyed three enemy military aircraft: two SU-34 fighter-bombers and one SU-35 fighter jet.

The Ukrainian rocket troops hit 1 command post, 4 artillery systems, 4 ammunition depots, and 1 electronic warfare stations of the russian invaders.


Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announces the start of the Coalition of Drones as part of the work of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine. Joining the coalition is open to willing countries. 

The press service of the Ministry of Defense reports that Ukrzaliznytsia will put into operation four more ambulance cars for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to provide medical care to the wounded during evacuation.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Ivan Shevtsov, Spokesman of the Stalevyi Kordon unit, stated that russian troops continue to assault positions towards Lyman-Kupiansk. On February 16, they attacked 20 times, including near Synkivka. Ukrainian troops repelled all the attacks.

At around 3:40 pm, the enemy attacked Lyptsi village, Kharkiv region. The invaders used multiple rocket launchers. The shelling resulted in a fire in a private house. There were no casualties.

According to Volodymyr Tymoshko, Head of Kharkiv police, at around 3 pm, russian troops struck three times in the area of Tsyrkuny, without causing any casualties.

Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv administration, said that at 1pm a russian helicopter attacked Sotnytskyi Kozachok. According to him, two private houses and outbuildings were damaged. There were no casualties.

Volodymyr Tymoshko, Head of Kharkiv police, stated that the russian army dropped 12 guided and high-explosive bombs on Kupiansk.  Around 1:30 pm, a two-storey building with 2 entrances was destroyed as a result of shelling and at least 5 private houses were damaged in Kupiansk. Two women were hospitalised with injuries, one civilian man received medical assistance on the spot, another man was injured. A 69-year-old woman was rescued from the rubble of her house and hospitalised with a broken limb. The search continues, two people remain trapped under the rubble.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional MIlitary Administration, said that the invaders shelled Lyptsi, Kharkiv region, about 20 times last night. The enemy used multiple rocket launchers and artillery. The building of Lyptsi village council, a library, a building materials warehouse and a truck were damaged. Only civilian objects were damaged. There is no information on casualties.

About 13 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under enemy artillery and mortar attacks yesterday: Kozacha Lopan, Borivske, Petropavlivka, Synkivka, Ivanivka and others.

The invaders launched airstrikes on Hatyshche, Udy and Katerynivka.

At 2:35 am, the enemy shelled Kupiansk. They hit a private household, where the walls and roof were destroyed. In the neighbouring houses, windows, glass and roofs were broken. A 75-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman were injured, but they were not hospitalised.

At 11:12 pm, the invaders shelled Cherkaski Tyshky village, Kharkiv region. A fire broke out in a residential building. There were no casualties.

At 9:50 pm, Kozacha Lopan village, Kharkiv region, was shelled. The shelling hit the outskirts. There was neither fire nor casualties.

Around 12:20 pm, the invaders attacked Vovchanski Khutory village, Chuhuiv region. A residential building was damaged. A 52-year-old man was killed and another person injured.

At 10:13 am, Borivske village, Izium region, was targeted. The building of the educational institution was damaged as a result of russian shelling .

In Dovhenke village, Izium region, three civilians tripped over a mine in a field. Two men aged 25 and 50 were killed. Another 30-year-old man was hospitalised with shrapnel wounds.

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks near Synkivka.

Bomb experts cleared 19.47 hectares of mines and defused 171 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that defence forces are being withdrawn from Avdiivka. He noted that the Ukrainian military had inflicted significant losses in manpower and equipment on russian troops.

Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, Commander of Tavriia operational-strategic group, informed that a number of Ukrainian soldiers were taken prisoner by russia while withdrawing under pressure from the superior forces of the russian army. Ukrainian soldiers are holding positions on the second line of defence.

Minister of Defence Umierov told about the lessons Ukraine has learnt after the withdrawal of troops from Avdiivka. He wrote that modern air defence systems are needed to prevent the russian army from using cruise bombs, as well as long-range weapons and artillery shells. The official also promised to return Avdiivka under Ukrainian control.

Yehor Firsov, Sergeant with the 109th Battalion, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to control a large part of Avdiivka. Fighting is ongoing.

The General Staff said that Ukrainian troops repelled 85 russian attacks towards Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka on  February 16. Most of the attacks were towards Avdiivka.

Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that in the morning of February 17, the Air Force of Ukraine destroyed three russian aircraft simultaneously in the eastern direction. Specifically, two Su-34 fighter-bombers and one Su-35 fighter jet were shot down.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, said that there was no information on casualties over the day.

Towards Pokrovsk, Avdiivka suffered several aerial bombardments and massive shelling. Kurakhove community was shelled 13 times and the industrial area was hit.

Towards Kramatorsk, the outskirts of Lyman and Kostiantynivka communities were under attack, without destruction.

Towards Bakhmut, 5 private houses in Chasiv Yar community and 1 house in Siversk were damaged. Pereizne of Zvanivka community and Rozdolivka, Fedorivka and Vasiukivka of Soledar community were shelled.

In total, russians shelled settlements in Donetsk oblast 10 times over the day. 166 people, including 53 children, were evacuated from the frontline.

Luhansk oblast

According to Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Ukrainian defence has withstood another test of strength in Bilohorivka, where several attacks were repelled. The enemy attacked with the support of aviation. Frontline villages, including Nevske, were hit. Nevertheless, bread and food packages were delivered to the liberated settlements, Hrekivka and Novoliubivka.

The 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine eliminated a russian soldier in the forests near Kreminna. The brigade’s artillery, in cooperation with aerial reconnaissance, struck an enemy dugout. Radio intercepts of the invaders confirmed the death of the russian commander, whose body is being evacuated to Kreminna.

Referring to Luhansk RMA, the so-called ‘lpr’ is going to open a cadet corps for the daughters of servicemen killed in the war. They emphasise that propaganda from childhood and the formation of hatred are “important for shaping the future of russia” and report that they will build the girls’ worldview on the ideology of russian federation.

In the occupied Lysychansk, a local hospital promises discounts on medical services and medicines if you vote for putin. If you want to take advantage of the offer, you need to inform the chief doctor. He will provide further instructions.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

According to Kyiv City State Administration, Kyiv will fully restore the houses on Zabolotnyi Street, which were heavily damaged by the russian missile attack on February 7. 31 houses were damaged during the February 7 rocket attack in Holosiivskyi district. The total area of damaged window and balcony structures is 3000 square metres. The owners of the houses that did not suffer structural damage can receive compensation of up to UAH 350K from the state.

According to the State Environmental Inspectorate of Kyiv oblast, environmental inspectors are fixing the environmental damage caused by the shelling of the oblast on February 15. A huge crater 14 metres in diameter and 6 metres deep was formed on the territory of the Bucha community. In addition, 700 trees under the age of 12 on an area of 2,000 m² were destroyed by a rocket.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv RMA, reported that the International Organisation for Migration will help Kyiv oblast to restore 5 apartment buildings. Thanks to international donors, 3 houses in Irpin and 2 in the village of Horenka of Hostomel community will be restored soon. Residents of 263 apartments will be able to return to their homes.

The Third Separate Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces begins a recruitment tour of Ukraine to recruit volunteers. The first town was Bila Tserkva in Kyiv oblast. At meetings with communities, representatives of the brigade tell them about the unit’s vacancies, service conditions and how to join. The 3rd Brigade was formed by Azov veterans in Kyiv in the first hours of the full-scale invasion and is currently performing combat missions to protect Ukraine’s territorial integrity from russian aggression. 

According to Vitalii Klychko, Mayor of Kyiv, the city has urgently sent another 150 FPV drones to the fighters towards Avdiivka, who requested additional support. 50 drones from this batch are already on their way. The next batch of drones is being assembled in Kyiv for the soldiers on the front line.

According to Kyiv City State Administration, the first 5-day special training course for journalists has been completed at the National Resistance Training Centre. They were introduced to the algorithms of work in the conditions of active hostilities. The instructors were members of Kyiv Municipal Guard, who have combat experience.

An exhibition of the deceased photographer and soldier Viktor Hurniak, was held in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from February 2 to 14. He was a journalist, photojournalist and Plast member. The exhibition features 30 photographs taken by Viktor during the Revolution of Dignity and his military service, as well as shots from his private life. His works have already been exhibited in other cities of Ukraine, the European Parliament, the USA, Estonia, Poland and Germany.

Modern equipment for teaching the course of the Defence of Ukraine was presented at Borys Hrinchenko Kyiv University. It will help to adapt the subject to modern challenges. To ensure the effective implementation of the subject, Kyiv has engaged experts from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, academics and leading companies that supply equipment for military training.

Zhytomyr oblast

Vitalii Bunechko, Head of Zhytomyr RMA, reports that a rehabilitation department has been opened in Novohuivynske hospital in Zhytomyr oblast, with specialists trained abroad. A 25-member rehabilitation team has been formed there. These are doctors of physical and rehabilitation medicine, physical therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and speech therapists.

Over the past 2 years, 4 renovated rehabilitation departments have been launched in the oblast. Equipment update and expansion of the list of modern rehabilitation services in other hospitals in the oblast continues.

Zhytomyr RMA in cooperation with the Hostryi Sokil company, handed over 325 FPV drones to Ukrainian defenders.  

Sumy oblast

According to the police of Sumy oblast, on February 16, a person was killed in Sumy oblast due to artillery shelling by the russian military in Velyka Pysarivka. 10 residential buildings, a garage and 2 cars were also damaged. In Seredyna-Buda community, 4 residential buildings were damaged. Khotin community, a gas pipeline and a residential building were damaged. Bilopillia community, a russian drone damaged the roof of the residential building.

It is reported that russians fired 47 times at the border areas of Sumy oblast. There were 237 explosions – from mortars, artillery, self-propelled artillery systems, AGS. FPV drone attacks and the dropping of explosives from UAVs were also recorded. 9 communities in the oblast came under hostile fire: Yunakivka, Khotin, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Sloboda, Esman, Shalyhyne, and Seredyna-Buda.

At night, russians fired 7 times at the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. There were 26 attacks with mortars and artillery. Myropillia, Khotin, Shalyhyne, Esman and Seredyna-Buda communities were shelled.

According to Sumy RMA, оn February 16, the bodies of 58 fallen Ukrainian defenders were returned to Ukraine. The exchange took place in Sumy oblast. After identification, the bodies of our defenders will be handed over to their families for a decent burial.

According to Sumy RMA, the reconstruction of an apartment building in Trostianets continues. New windows and balcony blocks have been installed in the five-storey building. In March 2022, the russian military shelled the building while leaving the town. The fire was not extinguished and all the apartments burned down.

Sumy RMA reported that Sumy oblast is one of the leaders in terms of implementing the mental health project. More than 90% of the oblast’s medical professionals have already been trained under the World Health Organisation’s mhGAP programme to provide qualified psychological assistance to patients. 

Chernihiv oblast

According to the State Border Guard Service of Chernihiv oblast, on February 16, russian troops fired 9 times at the border of Chernihiv oblast. The enemy struck 19 times at the territory of Semenivka community. There were mortar and UAV attacks. In Snovsk community, there were 36 attacks with mortars and cannon artillery.

According to Mustafa Naiiem, Head of the Ministry of Reconstruction, the winner of the project for the best concept of the memorial in the village of Yahidne in Chernihiv oblast has been announced. The project will be implemented by the Derbin Arch architectural bureau. The memorial will be created in a school where the russian military held 370 local residents, including about 70 children, for almost a month in March 2022. 11 people died.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that the enemy fired artillery at Nikopol region, launching about fifteen shells. They hit the regional center 3 times and Marhanets community once. Nikopol region was attacked 12 times. The enemy shelled artillery and launched kamikaze drones targeting Nikopol, Marhanets and Myrove communities. An agricultural company, 8 private houses, 4 outbuildings, 3 cars, garages, gas pipelines and a power line were damaged.

Serhii Lysak, Head of the RMA, reported that 2 people were injured as a result of an enemy’s drone strike on Marhanets community in Dnipropetrovsk region. A 49-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man are in serious condition.

Kirovohrad oblast

In Kropyvnytskyi, a rally in support of war prisoners was held at Maidan Heroes Square. It was organized by the defenders’ families.

Poltava oblast

In Poltava city center, a rally was organized in support of captured defenders. It was organized for the second time in a month.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

An explosion occurred near Natalivka village in Zaporizhzhia oblast. According to the preliminary information the russian military hit an infrastructure facility, which resulted in a disruption in the heating network, affecting 39 high-rise buildings. Efforts are underway by specialists to restore heat supply.

According to Zaporizhzhia RMA, on February 16, the russian military conducted 408 strikes across 15 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Hulyaipilske, Charivne, Chervone, Malynivka, Levadne, Poltavka, Robotyne, Piatyhatky, and Lobkove were attacked 108 times by UAVs.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Defense Forces successfully repelled 3 attacks by the russian military southeast of Mala Tokmachka towards Zaporizhzhia.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitaliy Kim, Head of the Mykolaiv RMA, reported that russian forces conducted strikes on the water area and Ochakiv city in Ochakiv community, as well as on Dmytrivka village in Kutsurub community, Mykolaiv oblast. There were no casualties or injuries reported.

Odesa oblast

In Odesa, the official opening of the Zatyshno (Cosy) Space, a safe space initiative by the Charity Fund East SOS, was held with support from international partners. Operating in 7 cities across Ukraine, these centres provide support to those affected by war, internally displaced persons, and persons facing challenging life situations. It offers individual consultations and information sessions with a social worker or psychologist. The new centre also has a children’s room where educators will conduct activities for children aged 3-14, allowing mothers and grandmothers to participate in other activities simultaneously. All services are provided free of charge.

In Odesa, on February 16, the premiere of the film “Long Day” directed by Alan Badoiev took place. The film depicts the full-scale treacherous russian invasion of Ukraine and is created to remind viewers that the war is ongoing.

Kherson oblast

On the morning of February 17, the russian military shelled Kherson. As a result, 1 person was killed and 2 injured.

In Antonivka village near Kherson, russian forces dropped an explosive from a drone onto a residential building, damaging the roof and the ventilation system. 1 woman was injured.

The Southern Defense Forces reported that Ukrainian military forces on the left bank of Kherson oblast destroyed 3 field supply points and a storage facility of the russian military, along with 4 cannons, 8 mortars, and 7 military vehicles. They eliminated 69 russian military personnel.

Olexander Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, reported that on February 16, the russian military shelled Kherson oblast 15 times, firing 46 projectiles from artillery, mortars, MLRS, tanks, and UAVs. The attacks targeted residential areas, injuring 2 people.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

From February 16 to 22, an exhibition of documents entitled Unbreakable Spirit of Unconquered Nation was opened in Lutsk. The exhibition presents copies of archival documents, books and newspaper publications that reflect the most important historical moments of February 20, 2014 which is the Memorial Day of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred in Ukraine. It was on this day that the most people were killed in the center of Kyiv.

Zakarpattia oblast

In Mukachevo Professional Agrarian Lyceum named after Dankanych of Zakarpattia Regional Council, a museum was opened in honour of the defenders of Ukraine. One of the key parts of the exposition is dedicated to almost 100 graduates of the lyceum who defended the state during the anti-terrorist operation, and also have been defending the Motherland since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine. There are battle flags handed over to the institution from the front. Samples of weapons, both Ukrainian and trophy, are also presented. A separate exposition reflects the volunteer activity and contribution of the lyceum team to the Victory of Ukraine.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that at the meeting of the session of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council, a number of targeted programs were financially strengthened, in particular, regarding the support of military formations, medical institutions that accept defenders for treatment.

39 kamikaze drones were sent to the 102nd separate brigade of the ground defense forces. The equipment will go to Zaporizhzhia oblast, where defenders from Prykarpattia are fighting hard battles. Anti-aircraft defense, which protects the skies of Prykarpattia from enemy attacks, is also being strengthened. Anti-aircraft searchlights and portable power sources were handed over for her needs. Also, a large-sized printer designed for large-format printing, in particular, in field conditions, was purchased for the military. They bought all this with the funds of the regional budget as part of targeted programs to support military formations. The total cost is about UAH 1,37 mln.

Lviv oblast

Lviv RMA signed relevant memorandums of cooperation with the International Organization for Migration, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine and Luhansk RMA. Within the framework of the project “Improving the housing conditions of internally displaced persons in the East of Ukraine“, the construction of three residential complexes in Kamianka-Buzka and Drohobych communities is planned, as well as the renovation of housing in the city of Staryi Sambir on the basis of an unfinished hospital. This will make it possible to provide housing for about 1,5K IDPs.

The RMA held a meeting with Oksenop Lisovyi, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine. They discussed reforming the education system at the regional level under martial law.

Rivne oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Nataliia Kalmykova, Deputy Minister of Defense. They discussed development prospects of Rivne regional hospital for war veterans. In particular, they discussed treatment and rehabilitation of military personnel, how to develop this direction and solve existing problems by creating a single chain in the system of rehabilitation and palliative care.

The analytical portal of Rivne oblast was presented to the community. From now on, communities will be able to make effective management decisions based on  relevant data. This will allow planning the development of the area and its social infrastructure, modelling economic processes and analyzing risks. Rivne oblast became the second region in Ukraine to create its own analytical portal. The service was developed jointly with the USAID HOVERLA project.

A memorial plaque to Maksym Vlasenko was opened in Rivne. The 40-year-old lieutenant was killed on August 10, 2023 in Kharkiv oblast.

Ternopil oblast

As part of the implementation of the All-Ukrainian mental health program called How are You? training was held for employees of Velikohaiv dispensary of general practice – family medicine. This training is relevant and necessary for medics who communicate with a large number of people of different psychological and emotional states every day. Currently, services in the field of mental health are provided in 14 communities of Ternopil oblast. Another 32 have psychologists working in the field of education, and 50 have medical workers providing mental health services.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The pre-premiere screening of the film The Shape of Fire took place in Khmelnytskyi. It became a landmark event, because the film not only tells about the heroism of rescuers from Khmelnytskyi who risked their lives to save people in the liberated Kherson, but also makes you think about the value of life, the tragedy of war and the strength of the human spirit.

Chernivtsi oblast

Oleksandr Chebanyk, Chief Sergeant of the National Guard, was awarded with the For Military Service to Ukraine medal by the President of Ukraine. He took part in combat operations near Kyiv, in Chernihiv oblast, as well as in Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Ukraine and France signed an agreement on security guarantees. As part of the agreement, Paris will send EUR 3 bln for Ukraine’s military needs in 2024. Separately, the agreement foresees areas of military and security cooperation between Kyiv and Paris, including joint production of weapons, provision of long-range weapons and combat aircraft, and cooperation in cyberspace. Also, according to the agreement, Ukraine and France will cooperate in the issue of using frozen russian assets, sanctions against aggressor states and bringing them to justice.

The US sent a new package of technical assistance to investigative units of Ukraine, which included 66 cars, 250 drones, 9 systems of 3D ground laser scanning with software and DNA laboratories. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation in Ukraine, the US has donated over $287 mln of aid to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Germany announced the provision of another package of military aid to Ukraine, including 18 armoured personnel carriers, 3 990 155 mm artillery ammunition, 3 machines for demining WISENT 1, 1 DACHS engineering tank, 9 mine trawls, 10 VECTOR reconnaissance UAVs with spare parts, 30 RQ-35 HEIDRUN reconnaissance drones, 11 Primoco ONE reconnaissance drones, 7 SONGBIRD reconnaissance drones, 4 cars for the border service; 500 LED lamps, and IT equipment.

In addition, Germany is additionally preparing 2 SKYNEX air defense systems with ammunition, IRIS-T SLM/SLS missiles, 18 RCH 155 wheeled howitzers, 18 Panzerhaubitze 2000, over 120K shells of 122-mm artillery, 9 DACHS engineering tanks, and 40 VECTOR reconnaissance UAVs to be soon transferred to Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Denmark. They discussed a bilateral security agreement, defense support to Ukraine, involvement of Denmark in the joint production of drones and implementation of the Peace Formula.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of Germany. They discussed the situation at the front and urgent defense needs of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Ilham Aliiev, President of Azerbaijan. They discussed possible joint economic projects, as well as bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic, energy, humanitarian and other spheres.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, met with Sheikh Hasina Wazed, Prime Minister of the Republic of Bangladesh. They discussed the Ukrainian vision of a just peace based on the Peace Formula and cooperation in the trade and economic sphere.
