It has been the 710th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The enemy continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it does not abandon its plans for the complete occupation of Ukraine, ignores the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, launches strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets. The enemy is actively using aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armoured vehicles.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

On February 3, there were 45 combat clashes. The occupiers launched 54 airstrikes and carried out 33 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks resulted in civilian injuries. Residential private and apartment buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group were noticed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siverk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The invaders launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Budarky, Kolodiazne, and Hryorivka (Kharkiv oblast). More than 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Karpovychi (Chernihiv oblast), Stepok, Hrabovske, Popivka, Mohrytsya (Sumy oblast), Kozachz Lopan, Ohirtseve, Mala Vovcha, and Pishchane (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 2 assaults near Synkivka and Ivanivka (Kharkiv oblast). In that area the occupiers made unsuccessful attempts to breach Ukrainian defense.  They launched air strikes near Kupiansk, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Tabaivka, and Pishchane (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 15 settlements, including Synkivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, and Kotliarivka (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 assaults in the vicinities of Serebryans’ke forestry (Luhansk oblast), Terny and Yampolivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area the enemy, with air support, made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 15 settlements, including Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Yampolivka, Tors’ke, Serebryanka, Verkhnokamianske, and Vyimka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 3 attacks in the vicinities of Bohdanivka and Klishchiivka (Donetsk oblast), where the occupiers made unsuccessful attempts to improve their tactical situation. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Hryhorivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 20 attacks near Avdiivka and 3 more attacks near Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the occupiers, with air support, made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The occupiers launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Oleksandropil (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars more than 15 settlements, including Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Stepove, Avdiivka, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Marinka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders in the vicinities of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the enemy made 6 unsuccessful attempts to improve its tactical situation. The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Paraskoviivka were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Shakhtarske, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 2 attacks south of Zolota Nyva (Donetsk oblast). The occupiers launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Urozhaine, Vuhledar and Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 10 settlements, including Vodiane, Prechystivka, Staromaiorske, and Rivnopil (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the russian invaders conducted no offensives. More than 20 settlements, including Poltavka, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Bilohiria, Robotyne, and Piatykhatky (Zaporizhzhia oblast) were shelled.

Towards Kherson, Odesa operational-strategic group, the occupiers have not abandoned their intention to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. Thus, during the day, the enemy made 4 unsuccessful assaults on positions of Ukrainian troops. The occupiers launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Chervonyi Maiak, Krynky,and Zmiivka (Kherson oblast). The enemy fired artillery at the city of Kherson, the settlements of Chervonyi Maiak, Tokarivka, Sadove, and Kizomys (Kherson oblast). On top of that, the invaders launched MLRS strikes at the vicinities of Ivanivka, Krynky, and Inzhenerne (Kherson oblast).

The Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 12 buildups of troops of the occupiers.

Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine, says that exports through Ukrainian ports have almost reached pre-war levels. The Ukrainian corridor has already transported 20 million tons of cargo to 32 countries. 14.3 million of them are agricultural products. Exports continue to grow.

Dmytro Klimenkov, Deputy Defense Minister, informs that the Ministry of Defense invites retailers to provide food for the Armed Forces. The main objective of the model is to attract honest businesses to provide continuous and high-quality food for soldiers. 

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal informs that businesses that are willing to invest more than €12 million and create new jobs can receive tax incentives. The main goal is to launch more investment projects that will create new jobs.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that Ukrainian troops repelled 59 attacks by russian occupation forces in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Most of the fighting took place in the Avdiivka sector. The russian army also carried out air strikes on Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and 11 settlements in Donetsk region, including Avdiivka, Ocheretina and Vuhledar.

“The intensity of shelling in the Liman-Kupyansk direction has decreased,” said Ilya Yevlash, head of the press service of the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops. “Previously, the russians were firing 60K rounds of ammunition a day, and now it is about 30K.

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Budarky, Kolodiazne, Hryhorivka towards Slobozhanske and Kupiansk, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Tabaivka, Pishchane towards Kupiansk suffered russian airstrikes during the day. Also russians tried to attack twice near Synkivka and Ivanivka but the attacks were repelled.

At around 6 am, the invaders attacked Kupiansk. According to preliminary data from Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, they hit civilian infrastructure with FAB-500s with a universal planning and correction module. A nine-storey residential building, private houses, power grids and other civilian non-residential infrastructure were damaged.

About 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under enemy artillery and mortar attacks yesterday, including: Udy, Vovchansk, Mala Vovcha, Potykhonove, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Berestove, etc.

The invaders launched airstrikes on Okhrymivka, Budarky, Chorne, Vilkhuvatka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, and Tabaivka.

At 3:35 pm, the invaders struck Vilkhuvatka village, Kupiansk region, with multiple rocket launchers. There was one hit on the territory of an agricultural enterprise, a warehouse building and a fence were damaged, and other hits in open areas. There were no casualties.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled 5 enemy attacks near Synkivka and Ivanivka.

Combined teams of bomb experts cleared 26.16 hectares of mines and destroyed 249 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

Donetsk regional police reported that in the evening, russian troops attacked a fire station in Pokrovsk.

During the day, police recorded 4 enemy attacks on the residential sector. Also russian army attacked from Grad multiple rocket launchers and artillery. Avdiivka, Toretsk and Netailove were under attack. 10 civilian objects were damaged, such as, a residential building, a garage box and a vehicle.

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, towards Pokrovsk, the invaders hit a private house, injuring a civilian in Avdiivka. The outskirts of Zhelanne of Ocheretyne community and Krasnohorivka of Marinka community were shelled. In Kurakhove community, 2 houses were damaged in Hostre. In the morning, russians shelled Novohrodivka with Smerch MRLs, damaging a garage.

Towards Kramatorsk, the outskirts of Dyliivka, Bila Hora and Stupochky of Kostiantynivka community were targeted.

Towards Bakhmut, 8 private houses, 2 apartment buildings and an industrial building were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. In Toretsk, shells hit the territory of an enterprise. A transport box, civilian cars, a bus, trucks and an excavator were damaged. Siversk was not damaged.

136 people, including 47 children, were evacuated from the frontline.

Police identified two children who were killed in Pokrovsk region as a result of shelling on 6 January. Investigators and forensic experts continue to examine body fragments recovered at the sites of the russian missile strike in Pokrovsk and Rivne village. Two more victims have been identified: a 7-year-old boy from Rivne and a 14-year-old boy from Pokrovsk. The victims of the enemy attack were 11 people, including 5 children. To date, police have identified 9 of the killed. 2 more dead children, boys aged 9 and 16, are to be identified. The identification is ongoing.

Between 29 January and 2 February, communities in the region received over 824 tonnes of charitable aid, including food packages, hygiene products, construction materials, non-food items, medical supplies, heating equipment, etc. The most significant assistance was provided by GLOBAL EMPOWERMENT MISSION (GEM) in partnership with the Howard G BUFFETT Foundation (HGBF), Angels of Salvation, ADRA, NEW WAY, MOM, Children of the New Generation, People in Need, Hachiko and World Central Kitchen.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, there were hostilities in the south of Nevske. This village was under mortar and artillery attack. The enemy attacked Bilohorivka from the air.

Russian infantry is almost always accompanied by a significant amount of heavy equipment during the attack. Lately, the invaders have been using drones as air support. Yesterday alone, at least 14 of them were spotted in our area of responsibility.

In recent years, the invaders have opened several cadet classes in Dovzhansk secondary schools. Instead of subjects that will be needed for higher education, they teach children sapper work, tactics of sabotage groups and develop shooting skills. 

The touring builders continue to inspect and search apartment buildings in Lysychansk. After such exploratory raids, things disappear from homes. They also break into houses where nobody opens the door because the owners are not there. No one installs new doors even for show so the apartments remain open.

Oleksandr Striuk, Head of Sievierodonetsk City Military Administration, reported that people, who stayed in the city, feel drafts even in the rooms where they live. Those who had the opportunity went to the countryside for the winter to stay warm. Modular boiler houses produce heat for the apartment buildings where the russian military and collaborators are accommodated. In the afternoon, life in Sievierodonetsk comes to a standstill as the streets become empty.

The 3rd Border Guard Detachment reported that Serhii Vladykin, a border guard from Luhansk oblast, was buried in Dnipro. He was killed in March 2022, but his body was returned from the occupied territory only now, during an exchange.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

On January 2, Ian Borg, new acting Chairman of the OSCE, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta, arrived in Kyiv. At a press conference after the meeting with Dmytro Kuleba, Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine,  he stated that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe will continue to support Ukraine and help solve the challenges Ukraine faces as a result of the russian invasion.

Vitalii Kyrylov, Spokesman of the State Special Service of Transport, said at a briefing in Kyiv that significant assistance in the work of demining teams is provided by technical means of surveying territories with a magnetometric recognition system. According to him, the technical means allow remotely, without risks to the lives of sappers, to mark potentially dangerous areas and subsequently to determine the method of demining. Such UAVs revealed the greatest effectiveness during the survey of water areas of reservoirs.

Reconstruction in Irpin after the full-scale invasion of Kyiv oblast by russian troops continues. During three months, 52 houses were dismantled in the community with the support of the UNDP program in Ukraine. As First Deputy Mayor Andrii Kravchuk reported, previously 150 houses were dismantled in Irpin community with the support of the UNDP in Ukraine.

Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that the Security Service established the names of four russian soldiers involved in kidnapping, beating and torture of civilians during the occupation of Kyiv oblast in 2022. They were declared suspicious and will be tried in absentia for war crimes. In February-March 2022, they took part in the capture of settlements in Brovary and Bucha regions. Then the occupiers kidnapped people en masse, interrogated them and imprisoned them in torture chambers.

Bucha City Council reported that local military chaplain Anatolii Kushnirchuk received the Golden Chevron distinction. The man has been serving as a priest in the Armed Forces for 10 years. Anatolii, together with other fighters, is in the hot spots of the front, conducts religious services and supports his brothers-in-arms before the battle.

Irpin will receive help from benefactors – Wi-Fi access points and software. According to the mayor Oleksandr Markushyn, the American sister city of Milwaukee will give Irpin aid in the amount of about 2 million dollars. This is more than 800 uninterrupted Wi-Fi access points and software from the American company Advanced Wireless, Inc.

The State Emergency Service of Kyiv oblast reported a new Safety Classroom was opened at Potiiv Lyceum in Mala Vilshanka community. This is the 84th safe space for children in the region.

Zhytomyr oblast

Vitalii Bunechko, Head of Zhytomyr RMA, announced that at night, during the air alert, the air defense forces of the oblast hit enemy targets over the region. There are no casualties.

In the city of Korosten, Zhytomyr RMA and representatives of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary charity fund, an the region and city administration, handed over a minibus and a quadrocopter to the fighters of the 115th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade to carry out combat missions. The defenders were also given 3 tablets purchased with funds collected by employees of the social protection department of Zhytomyr oblast.

Zhytomyr artist Olena Bukata paints icons on the pierced plates of military personnel’s body armour. According to her, volunteer Yuliya Tolmachova brought her the first four plates from bulletproof vests from the front, and she started drawing icons on them. The icons are sold at auctions, and all proceeds from the sale go to the needs of the Armed Forces.

Sumy oblast

Sumy RMA reported that during the past day, the russians carried out 33 shelling attacks of the border areas of the oblast, there were 102 explosions: mortars and artillery, dropping of explosive devices from UAVs, shelling by FPV drones, firing by unguided air missiles from a helicopter. Yunakivka, Khotyn, Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Myropillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, Seredina-Buda, Svesa communities were under enemy shelling.

The National Police of Sumy oblast reported that as a result of russian shelling on February 2, a private house and the building of a local enterprise were damaged in Khotyn community, and a kindergarten was damaged in the city of Seredyna-Buda.

Sumy RMA reported that at night, the russians launched 3 shelling attacks, inflicting 22 mortar strikes on the border region of Sumy oblast. The communities of Khotyn (13 explosions), Bilopillia (4 explosions) and Krasnopillia (5 explosions) were shelled.

In Sumy oblast, the movement of civil transport was restricted within a 5-kilometer strip from the border with russia. The decision is explained by the order of the commander of the North operational and strategic grouping of troops and the goal of preventing civilian casualties in the border areas. Recently, the enemy SRG fired at a car there, as a result of which two people died.

Sumy Regional Military Administration and Ukrnafta PJSC signed an agreement on cooperation and the company’s participation in the economic and social development of the oblast. 24 projects in 9 communities of Sumy oblast, where mining is carried out will be financed in the amount of UAH 56 . The money, in particular, will be used for capital repairs, replacement of windows, roof repairs in educational and medical institutions, construction and reconstruction of street water mains, boiler houses, sewage treatment plants, installation of modular shelters.

Chernihiv oblast

The SBGS reported that during the past 24 hours, russian troops shelled three border communities of Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi community – 5 mortar hits in the direction of Hremyach; Semenivka community – 4 shots from barrel artillery towards the settlements of Progress and Zoria, 12 shots from a mortar in the direction of the village Zarechhe, 1 FPV drone strike in the area of Medvedivka; and Horodnya community – 9 mortar hits in the area of Senkivka.

In Bakhmach, Chernihiv oblast, residents paid tribute to the pilot, Captain Andrii Antikhovich, who was killed on February 26, 2022 over Kherson oblast. During a combat sortie on a Su-25 aircraft, the pilot attacked columns of russian troops that were preparing to cross the Dnieper River for a further attack on Mykolaiv and Odesa. On the way back from the mission, Andrii’s plane was shot down, he lost control, but the pilot did not eject, but directed the plane into the remnants of the russian military convoy. Andrii’s body was found and buried by local residents on the territory of one of the villages in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson oblast. In December 2023, the body was returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine.

Chernihiv RMA reported that in Chernihiv, the owners of destroyed housing began to submit applications for the reconstruction of houses on their own plots of land. Such an opportunity has appeared since the beginning of 2024, when the next stage of the “eRestoration” program started. Funds for reconstruction will be credited to a special account.

Chernihiv regional employment center reported that in 2023, 189 entrepreneurs from the oblast received a grant in the amount of UAH 50 to 250 K under the business program of the eRobota project. This made it possible to create 444 new jobs. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that 5 UAVs were destroyed over Kryvyi Rih region. The enemy drones were shot down by the Air Command East. There were also hits, about 15K homes were left without electricity and 43K  without heating. Also at night, the enemy attacked Nikopol with artillery. 2 private houses, an outbuilding, a power line and fences were damaged.

During the day the enemy fired three times with artillery and launched 2 kamikaze drones on Nikopol region. Nikopol and Myrove community were hit. In Nikopol 32 private houses, 9 outbuildings, a power line, 2 gas pipelines and fences were damaged. In one of the community’s villages, a power line was also hit.

Vinnytsia oblast

In Kordelivka village of Vinnytsia oblast residents and students of the local lyceum make vitamin kits for the military. They are sent to the frontline through volunteers.

Poltava oblast

Filip Pronin, Head of the RMA, reported that another russian attack in Poltava oblast damaged a filled grain storage facility.

Cherkasy oblast

IDPs in Cherkasy received humanitarian aid. A total of 250 food packages were distributed.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Zaporizhzhia RMA reported that on February 2, the russian military launched 131 strikes on 19 cities and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. They used MLRSs, artillery shells, aviation projectiles, and 40 drones to attack Huliaipole, Malynivka, Novoandriivka, Levadne, Charivne, Chervone, Poltavka, and Piatyhatky.

Victoria Halitsyna, Head of the Berdiansk CMA, reported that despite the ongoing flu epidemic, occupiers are organizing propaganda meetings with pupils and students in Berdyansk. During these meetings, young people are being prepared to enlist in the ranks of the russian army.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitaliy Kim, Head of the Mykolaiv RMA reported that on February 2 russian forces conducted airstrikes on Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities in Mykolaiv oblast. Furthermore, on the night of February 3, Air Defense Forces in Mykolaiv oblast shot down a russian Shahed-131/136 UAV.

Odesa oblast

The Southern Defense Forces reported that on the night of February 3, the russian military deployed Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones towards southern Ukraine. One of these drones was shot down by the Air Defense Forces in Odesa oblast.

Oleksandr Kubrakov, Vice Prime Minister for Ukraine’s Recovery, announced that through the ports of Odesa, a temporary grain corridor facilitated the export of over 20 million tons of goods to 32 countries worldwide in the past six months, utilizing 661 ships. Of this total, 14.3 million tons were agricultural products, with the throughput volume at the ports of Odesa showing an upward trend. In January, 6.3 million tons were exported, nearly reaching pre-war levels. Currently, 104 more ships are approaching the ports to pick up over 3 million tons of cargo.

The Flightradar portal reported that an American reconnaissance aircraft, Boeing P-8A Poseidon, is currently observed near the southern borders of Odesa oblast. The NATO aircraft is patrolling the airspace over Romania and monitoring the situation in the Black Sea.

Kherson oblast

The Ministry of Energy reported that approximately 300 consumers in Kherson were left without electricity due to russian shelling. Currently, a total of 3,700 consumers in the regional center are facing power outages.

As a result of the morning russian attacks on February 3 in Kherson community, gas pipelines were damaged in several locations. Gas supply specialists have restored the pipelines.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, reported that on February 2, the russian military conducted 67 shelling attacks in Kherson oblast, causing damage to critical infrastructure, educational institutions, shops, and a medical facility in the regional center and Kherson region. Also, a kindergarten in Beryslav district was affected. Seven people, including a child, were injured. 

According to the Ukrainian Defense Forces, on February 2, russian forces attempted seven unsuccessful assaults on the positions of the Defense Forces on the left bank of Kherson. Additionally, Ukrainian military forces successfully eliminated 52 russian occupiers, a Msta-B howitzer, and an armored combat vehicle of the Russian army. 

Russian forces targeted Kachkarivka village in Kherson, using guided bombs. Dozens of residential buildings, a critical infrastructure object, and a school were damaged as a result of the shelling. There were no casualties reported.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

In Kovel, an interactive Safety classroom was created to teach students on the basis of the fire and rescue department. This is a unique and so far the only space in Volyn oblast, where children can learn about safety with the help of interactive equipment. For this, there are simulators of an iron, an oven, a microwave oven, a house in which there are several sources of fire, models of mines, lifeguard uniforms for children, etc. The idea of ​​creating such a classroom belongs to Volyn rescuers. They were supported in Poland, and later the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland and the 2nd State Fire and Rescue Squad of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Volyn oblast (Kovel) implemented the project.

Zakarpattia oblast

With the support of UNICEF, an informatics classroom was arranged in one of the gymnasiums of Berehovo region. The educational institution in the village of Berehuyfalu received 15 modern computers for over 170 students studying there.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The head office of the State Emergency Service in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast purchased modern, powerful equipment that allows to expand the range of capabilities of rescuers, and therefore to respond more effectively to emergency situations in the entire territory of Prykarpattia. It is a mobile mobile control point capable of moving on any roads under different weather conditions, regardless of the season and time of day.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with the delegation led by Pierre Elbron, Special Envoy of the President of France for assistance and reconstruction of Ukraine. They discussed areas of cooperation, in particular the involvement of French partners in supporting the medical, educational spheres and IDPs.

Lviv City Council increased the amount of city grants for the development of military equipment to UAH 3 mln. UAH 1 bln was allocated from the budget of Lviv for this year.

UAH 38K were collected in the village of Hrymne of Komarniv community for compatriots who stand in defense of Ukraine. Residents of the village of Pidhirne of Pidberiztsiv community raised over UAH 30K for the defenders at the charity, which was held in the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos.

The film The Return was presented to the public. It contains the stories of medalists and participants of international competitions among veterans of the Games of the Invincibles and other world competitions among people with disabilities. Its task is to popularize physical activity as a tool for rehabilitation and self-realization among military personnel, veterans, and all people with disabilities.

Rivne oblast

Currently, 8 492 students from Rivne oblast are studying abroad. Over 2.3K are studying remotely, 3.7K are studying in a family setting, and 2.3K are studying abroad. Results of children’s studies abroad will be credited in Ukraine.

Ternopil oblast

In Ternopil, a round table about barrier-freeness in the public mind in the conditions of war, problems and ways of formation was held. The meeting was attended by veterans, volunteers, psychologists, rehabilitators, representatives of Ternopil oblast, state institutions and public organizations.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that a Veterans Hub was opened at Shepetivka RMA.

The forces of Khmelnytskyi anti-aircraft machine gun battalion received 2 Mitsubishi L200 SUVs thanks to representatives of the agrarian industry of the oblast and the Association of Village Development Public Union from Dunaievsk region.

Chernivtsi oblast

Last year, almost UAH 400 mln was allocated from regional and local budgets to support the Armed Forces. This is almost two and a half times over in 2022. The most funds were transferred by Chernivtsi (UAH 200.3 mln), Viknyan (UAH 45.8 mln), Storozhinetsk (UAH 26.1 mln), Berehomet (UAH 15.4 mln), Novodnistrovsk (UAH 13.5 mln) regions.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Estonia sent a new batch of aid worth EUR 80 mln to Ukraine, included, Javelin anti-tank missiles, machine guns, ammunition for small arms, various equipment and diving equipment.

The Ministry of Defense of Lithuania reported that they sent another batch of military aid to Ukraine, including over a thousand rounds of the Swedish Carl Gustav hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher and RISE-1 remote detonation systems.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, announced that two more air defense systems arrived in Ukraine.

In the near future, the Ministry of Defense of Bulgaria will send its 100 BTR-60 to Ukraine. At the same time, an unknown country participating in Ramstein took on the costs of logistics. The equipment will be sent together with the already available weapons.

Melanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, stated that Canada and Ukraine will create an international coalition to return Ukrainian children illegally deported by russia.

A group of 13 MPs and 5 MPs signed a joint letter to Cameron, Foreign Minister of Great Britain, calling for russia to be added to the list of state sponsors of terrorism.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia suggests to relevant ministries to check whether foreign citizens, in particular from russia and belarus, who support russian aggression against Ukraine, hold high positions in leading companies and important organizations of Latvia. If such persons are identified, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia proposes to apply restrictive measures of the European Union against them.

The International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, which is co-chaired by Ukraine and Canada, started its work and presented the Framework document of its activities at a meeting in Kyiv. Six more countries officially joined before and during the meeting of the International Coalition: Belgium, Great Britain, Denmark, Costa Rica, the Netherlands and Germany. The total number of coalition member countries is now 28.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President, met with Ian Borg, current Chairman of the OSCE, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Malta. They discussed, in particular, the return of Ukrainian children illegally deported to russia.
