It has been the 552nd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression.

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

Over the last day, the enemy launched 5 missile and 47 air strikes, fired 48 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops’ positions and settlements. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed. 

There is still a high threat of missile and air strikes across Ukraine.

There were over 30 combat clashes over the day.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the situation remained unchanged. 

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of Udy and Zybyno in Kharkiv oblast. He fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 20 settlements, including Seredyno-Buda, Popivka, Kindrativka, Volodymyrivka in Sumy region and Ohirtseve, Karaichne, Okhrymivka, Mala Vovcha, Nesterne in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy launched airstrikes in the areas of Pershotravneve, Kyslivka, and Kupiansk in Kharkiv oblast. The settlements of Fiholivka, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Kurylivka, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka in Kharkiv oblast were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy.

Towards Lyman, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Novoiehorivka and Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast. There were airstrikes in the areas of Nadiia, Tverdokhlibove, Novoiehorivka and Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast; and Spirne, Donetsk oblast. More than 10 settlements came under enemy artillery fire, including Novoiehorivka in Luhansk oblast and Yampil, Siversk, Verkhnekamianske, Torske, and Spirne in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Bohdanivka and Ozarianivka in Donetsk oblast. He carried out airstrikes in the areas of Klishchiyivka, Druzhba, and Pivdenne in Donetsk oblast. More than 25 settlements suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Klishchiyivka and Druzhba in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy launched an airstrike near Avdiivka, fired artillery and mortars at the settlements of Keramik, Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, Severne and Pervomayske in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Marinka, Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back the russian offensive in the vicinity of Mariinka, Donetsk oblast. The enemy conducted air strikes near Krasnohorivka and Maryinka in Donetsk oblast. Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Heorhiivka, Kurakhove, Pobeda, and Yelizavetivka in Donetsk oblast came under artillery fire.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy conducted airstrikes near Staromayorske in Donetsk oblast. Hostile artillery shelling hit Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Niva, Velyka Novosilka, Blahodatne, and Urozhayne in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the enemy conducted airstrikes in the areas of Zaliznychne and Verbove in Zaporizhzhia oblast. More than 20 settlements suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Shcherbaky, Stepove, Pyatikhatky, Kamianske, Plavni, Lukyanivske in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Towards Kherson, more than 10 settlements suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Zolota Balka, Mykilske, Sadove, Kherson, Sofiivka, and Shyroka Balka in Kherson oblast.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations towards Melitopol, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.

The russian occupiers continue to force passportization in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson oblast. In the village of Mykhailivka, Skadovsk region, russian occupation forces are harassing local residents who refuse to receive russian passports. They raid homes, carry out humiliating inspections, and threaten imprisonment and deportation.

Ukrainian aviation of the defense forces conducted 7 strikes on personnel buildups and 4 strikes on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.

Rocket and artillery units struck a buildup of personnel, weapons and military equipment and the enemy’s heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A “Solntsepyok”.


The Ministry of Reintegration reports that bodies of 84 fallen Ukrainian defenders were returned. After identification, the bodies of the soldiers will be handed over to their families for a decent burial. 

Ivan Fedorov, Mayor of Melitopol, says that occupation ‘authorities’ are being moved from Tokmak, Zaporizhzhia oblast, to another location. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Illia Yevlash, Head of the press service of Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that on the eastern part of the frontline, the invaders are attacking from SU-25 aircraft, K-52, MI-8 and MI-24 helicopters. He noted that over yesterday alone, the invaders used tactical and army aviation 15 times towards Lyman and Kupiansk. But they do not fly far because they encounter our fierce air defense. On the ground, the enemy focused its attention on Novoiehorivka. As of yesterday, there were six more assaults there. The invaders attacked 561 times from rocket and cannon artillery. While repelling the attacks, 56 invaders were eliminated. An armoured personnel carrier, D-30 and Msta-S guns, three vehicles and a Russian ammunition depot were destroyed.

Kharkiv oblast

During the day, there were air strikes near five settlements in Kharkiv oblast – Udy, Zybyno, Pershotravneve, Kyslivka and Kupiansk.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian troops launched air strikes near three villages and shelled at least eight more. This was reported by the General Staff. Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that as a result of the shelling, buildings were damaged in Kurylivka and Podil, Kupiansk, region. 

The press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office informed that a man was killed and another was injured as a result of artillery shelling of Kupiansk at around 8:30 am. Investigators recorded a hit on the territory of a food processing plant, the casualty was its security guard.

According to Tetiana Kalyta, Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, a Veteran Development Center was opened in Kharkiv, where participants in the russian-Ukrainian war, soldiers and families of fallen defenders will be able to study and receive psychological, social and legal assistance. War veterans who live in the region can apply to the Center, where they can also upgrade their skills or change their profession.

The “Eternal Memory” stamp dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine was redeemed by Tetiana Kalyta, Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs for Digital Development, Digital Transformation and Digitalization.

Mayor Ihor Terekhov states that Kharkiv will build a 400-seat bomb shelter, the cost of which will be UAH 56 million. Olha Demenko, Head of the city’s education department, says that the city is also arranging classrooms for schoolchildren at five subway stations. 

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv RMA, said that yesterday russian invaders shelled settlements of Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv, Izium, Chuhuiv and Kupiansk regions with artillery, mortars and combat aircraft.

In Podoly of Kupiansk region and Vovchanski Khutory of Chuhuiv region, grass was burning in the open as a result of hostile shelling.

The shelling of Cherneshchyna village, Izium region, damaged a building and a garage of a private household. In Kurylivka village, Kupiansk region, a building was damaged.

A remote-controlled T-150 tractor exploded and caught on fire in a field during demining works in Yavirske, Izium region, at 8:50 am. There were no casualties.

Yesterday pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined more than 5.6 hectares of territory and defused 107 explosive ordnance.

1,433 people, including 343 children, have been evacuated from dangerous areas of Kupiansk since 9 August.

On 28 August, Kharkiv Literary Museum presented a book by Volodymyr Vakulenko, “I am Transforming… Diary of the Occupation. Selected Poems”. Visitors could also see books from his personal library, his diary and letters from school students from the russian federation to the russian military that were found in Izium region.

A 16-year-old injured girl in Odnorobivka is the daughter of a 39-year-old woman who was killed in the shelling on 27 August. Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv Village Military Administration, informed that the woman and the girl were leaving the house when the shelling started.  A shell exploded next to the mother and nothing could save her. Mother of the deceased woman, who is confined to bed, is left on her own.

Oleksii Poliukhovych, Foreman of the contracting organization, said that the outpatient clinic, which is the only medical facility in Lisne settlement near Kharkiv, is to be rebuilt by the end of October. It was damaged by russian shelling in the spring of 2023 as there were two hits near the building. All the windows were smashed and the roof damaged. The works started on 14 July and will last until the end of October.

The City Council press service stated that a memorial plaque to the fallen defender Oleh Sapalenko was unveiled at Lyceum No. 73 in Kharkiv. Since the beginning of russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Sapalenko served as a reconnaissance sniper with the Kraken parachute battalion of the special forces and took part in the defense of Kharkiv. He was killed on 24 June 2022 while performing a combat mission in Kharkiv oblast.

Donetsk oblast

Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar says that the russian military cannot leave Bakhmut and move around the city. 

Ilia Yevlash, Spokesman for the Eastern Military Group, informs that over the last day, russian occupation forces attempted to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 15 times near Bakhmut and Lyman-Kupiansk sectors. The russian army lost 233 soldiers in 24 hours. 

The National Resistance Center reported that russian occupiers are taking children from Yasynuvata, occupied in 2014, to the russian city of Chelyabinsk.

Anastasia Medviedieva, Spokeswoman for Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office, reports that the russian army launched a tank attack on Avdiivka. A 47-year-old man was wounded. He was taken to the hospital.

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, russians killed 5 civilians: 2 in Dalne, 1 in Toretsk, Lyman and Velyka Novosilka, and 4 more were injured.

At midnight, russians launched a missile attack on Druzhkivka, hitting the green zone.

Towards Volnovakha, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka and Bohoiavlenka were under attack, with no casualties.

Towards Donetsk, 6 buildings were damaged in Kurakhove.

Towards Horlivka, 2 people were killed and 1 injured in Shakhove community. Rozdolivka, Vasiukivka and Fedorivka, Soledar community were shelled.

Towards Lysychansk, 1 person was killed in Lyman. In Siversk, buildings on three streets were damaged.

Ukraine Media Centre stated that the Tribunal for Putin initiative presented a legally grounded submission to the International Criminal Court on the genocide of people in Mariupol by russians. The appeal will be published in Ukrainian and English. 

Luhansk oblast

When russian infantry has no results at all, the enemy intensifies its air and artillery influence, shelling settlements. Yesterday Novoiehorivka, Tverdokhlibove and Bilohorivka were attacked from the air. They also used rocket and cannon artillery to hit Nevske, where there is still a sufficient number of civilians.

Last year, marauders were looting mostly wealthy apartments and buildings in Sievierodonetsk, taking away equipment and valuables. Now, the theft has moved to a more primitive level, with stealing crockery and clothing items being stolen.

Lysychansk has been a closed city for many months. It is extremely difficult to get to the settlement, for that you need a local registration or an agreement with the occupation administration. On the eve of the so-called ‘first elections’, these measures do not loosen the situation, as local residents, in russian opinion, must vote. The invaders will let “their” outsiders vote as many times as they want.

In July 2023, average consumer prices for food in the territorial communities of Luhansk oblast under occupation were significantly higher than in the government-controlled areas.

Some food products were more than twice as expensive.  For instance, buckwheat was more than twice as expensive, sunflower oil by 72.04%, potatoes by 53.53%, etc.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine who died fighting for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine was honored in Kyiv. At the Wall of Remembrance on Mykhailivska Square, the Head of State and the audience paid tribute to all Ukrainian defenders who fell in the russian-Ukrainian war. The date is dedicated to the day when the Ukrainian army suffered the greatest casualties in the east of the country in 2014 – the day of the breakthrough from the encirclement in Ilovaisk on August 29.

Memorial service was held in Kyiv for military pilot Andrii Pilshchykov, call sign Juice, who died in Zhytomyr oblast. Several hundred military and civilians came to the ceremony at the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ of the UGCC. To honor the memory of the legendary pilot, people also bring flowers, postcards and toys to the mural The Ghost of Kyiv.

240 thousand schoolchildren in Kyiv will study offline, which is 2.5 times more than in the previous school year. According to Kyiv City State Administration, 417 out of 420 schools in the capital have shelters, in which almost 190 K seats are provided.

Kyiv RMA reported that 1262 shelters have been equipped in educational institutions of Kyiv oblast. Kyiv Regional Military Administration, in cooperation with central and local executive authorities, is doing everything possible to ensure that the educational process begins on September 1 in an offline format, where possible due to security issues.

A self-defense course for women, organized during the war by the Ukrainian Women’s Guard with the support of the European University, continues in Kyiv. On Sunday, regular classes were held for two groups, during which the participants learned self-defense in different conditions and practiced different scenarios of defense in case of attack.

On August 26, the Ukrainian Women’s Guard held an offline training on Financial Literacy and a transformational game Cash Flow in Kyiv. The training was conducted within the framework of the project “Self-employment and economic security of women in Ukraine during wartime and post-war period” with the support of Kyiv City Council.

On September 20, Kyiv will host the first day of the International Forum for Sustainable Development 2023. The forum participants will discuss current policy goals and developments for the sustainable recovery of Ukraine, the Ukrainian government’s vision of effective reconstruction, and requirements that lenders and financial institutions will impose to attract financing for recovery projects. The second day of the forum will be held in The Hague.

Zhytomyr oblast

On the Day of Remembrance of Defenders who died fighting for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, a memorial site with a stele in memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine was opened in Pulyn. In the future, this place is planned to be transformed into a memorial complex with photos of the fallen heroes.

The official media center of Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration hosted the redemption of the Ukrposhta stamp “Eternal Memory!” dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Fallen Defenders of Ukraine.

The first lesson within the Safety Class at Nemyrynets Lyceum was held. The new classroom is divided into five zones – fire and mine safety, life safety, medical care and psychological relief training. Each zone with its own equipment provides for the interest of students of different ages.

Sumy oblast

As a result of the shelling of Seredyno-Buda on August 28, three people were injured. According to Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office, at about 6:30 p.m., the russian army opened artillery fire from the territory of the russian federation. One of the shells landed on the territory of a private household, as a result of which the residents of the house sustained shrapnel wounds. A private residential building and a library building were also damaged by shrapnel.

According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, over the past 24 hours, the russians opened fire 23 times at the border areas of Sumy oblast. There were 156 explosions. Putivl, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Khotin, Znob-Novhorodske, and Seredyno-Buda communities were under enemy fire.

The enemy launched unguided aerial missiles from a helicopter (10 explosions) and fired from an RPG (6 explosions) at the territory of Velyka Pysarivka community. A private residential building and a summer kitchen were damaged as a result of an air strike.

Krasnopillia community suffered from attacks by guided aerial bombs (3 explosions) launched from an aircraft. Also, the russians fired mortars and artillery at the community’s territory.

At night and in the morning of August 29, the enemy fired 6 times at the border and launched 46 attacks with artillery, mortars, and MLRS. Seredyno-Buda, Vorozhba, Bilopillia, and Shalyhyne communities were shelled.

Chernihiv oblast

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, informs that in the afternoon, russian troops shelled a hospital in the border town of Semenivka. The surgical building was damaged as a result of shelling.

Yesterday, border guards recorded 16 mortar bombs in the direction of Karpovychi, five attacks from barrel artillery in the direction of Kamen village and 11 mortar attacks in the area of Kliusy village.

According to the regional police, on August 28, a car with four passengers ran over a mine in Chernihiv oblast: a man and a woman were killed in the explosion, two children aged 5 and 9 were injured and are in hospital. According to Horodnia Forestry branch of the State Enterprise Forests of Ukraine, the tragedy occurred in the woodlands near Oleshnia village, which is located near the border with belarus. Along the road there are warning signs about mine threat.

Vladyslav Kukhar, General Director of Chernihiv City Hospital No. 2, informs that 214 people were injured as a result of a russian missile strike on Chernihiv on August 19. As of today, 47 people are being treated in hospitals. According to him, two patients remain in serious condition, including one child who sustained a mine injury.

Volodymyr Shelupets, Head of Kyselivska community, reported that in Novoselivka, five houses made of special energy-efficient material are being built with funds from the Dutch foundation for people who lost their homes during active hostilities. 82 families who have lost their homes live in the modular town.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the regional council, the russian military attacked Nikopol twice overnight. In Nikopol, a house and a gas pipeline were damaged by shelling. Marganets community was shelled with artillery. The occupiers attacked Nikopol region twice. They shelled Nikopol and Marhanets community with artillery. The shelling caused a fire, damaging a house and an outbuilding.  

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia City Council reported that the Interregional Humanitarian Coordination Centre has delivered a bath and laundry complex for the military. It will soon be sent to the front line to Azov soldiers. 

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, volunteers from the Good Deeds centre have been making nets for Ukrainian defenders. Sviatoslav Stelmakh, a 62-year-old volunteer from Khmilnyk, provides frames for nets. The man makes them himself. He set up a workshop in his own apartment. In 11 months of work, he has woven 40 net frames.

Kirovohrad oblast

Vasyl Shtohrin, Deputy Head of the regional State Emergency Service said that rescue workers continue to inspect shelters in educational institutions. 94% of the shelters are ready for the start of the school year. 

Poltava oblast

According to Dmytro Lunin, Head of Poltava Regional Military Administration, the fourth person was found dead on the second day after the russian shelling. 

Dmytro Lunin, Head of Poltava Regional Military Administration, reports that almost 136 K students will attend schools in Poltava oblast in the coming academic year, including more than 5 K IDPs. 

A pilot from Poltava region, Serhii Prokazin, has been posthumously promoted to lieutenant colonel. He died in a plane crash in Zhytomyr oblast on 25 August 2023.

Cherkasy oblast

In Cherkasy oblast, as of August 2023, 97% of schools have shelters that meet safety requirements. Educational institutions are also provided with generators to ensure uninterrupted learning. 

There are 46 safety classes in Cherkasy oblast where schoolchildren are taught civil protection rules. By the end of 2023, 35 more are planned to be opened. 

In Cherkasy, a photo exhibition Heavenly Photographer was presented on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of the Fallen Defenders. The author of the photographs is a 25-year-old photographer from Kovel, Maksym Burda, who defended Ukraine as a member of the Third Separate Assault Brigade and operated a drone. He was killed on 26 January in the fighting near Bakhmut.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Defence Forces were successful in the Novodanilivka-Verbove area in Zaporizhzhia oblast. 

The russian army struck 91 towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast on August 28. Levadne, Zaliznychne, Olhivske, Temyrivka, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, Preobrazhenka, Luhivske, Stepnogorsk were hit.

The Ministry of Regional Development of Ukraine reports that forced evacuation of children was announced in Hulyaypole, Stepnohirsk, Preobrazhenka, Yehorivka, Novopavlivka. 54 children and 67 accompanying family members will be evacuated.  

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, stated during a telethon that as of 29 August, Ukrainian troops were practicing their fire on the positions of the russian army on the occupied Kinburn Peninsula. In turn, russian units continue to strike Ochakiv and coastal communities in Mykolaiv oblast.

The Ministry of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine reported that Mykolaiv oblast will receive UAH 1.5 billion from the European Investment Bank for 9 recovery projects.

On 29 August, Mykolaiv hosted a presentation and a special unveiling of the Ukrposhta Eternal Memory stamp dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Fallen Defenders of Ukraine. The stamp depicts a Cossack sitting with his head bowed among Cossack crosses. The sketch for the Remembrance Day stamp was based on the work “Sorrow” by the Honoured Artist of Ukraine, Oleh Shupliak. The circulation of postage stamps is 500,000 copies, with a face value of UAH 12.3 from each stamp sold will go to help the families of fallen soldiers.

Odesa oblast

Medical facilities in Odesa Oblast have received equipment designed to expedite the healing of deep wounds. The hospitals have been provided with 43 VAC devices, over 2,000 canisters, and 2,000 bandages. The VAC therapy devices will assist both civilians and military personnel with severe injuries. This update was issued by the Department of Health of the Odesa Regional State Administration. VAC therapy, a globally recognized standard for wound treatment, can significantly accelerate the process of wound healing. The mild negative pressure employed in this method enhances the drainage of wound secretions, promotes faster granulation tissue formation, reduces wound edges, improves microcirculation, and diminishes swelling. These combined effects ultimately contribute to expediting the healing process.

In Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Odesa region, an Alley of Remembrance has been inaugurated in honor of the fallen soldiers who resided in the vicinity. Each display showcases a soldier’s photograph along with pertinent details regarding their place of passing and age. This announcement comes from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi District State Administration on 29 August.

This morning, an enthralling natural spectacle unfolded on a beach near Odesa: a pod of dolphins emerged near the shoreline, exhibiting their fishing behavior. Ecologists affirm that the proximity of these marine mammals to the coast signifies the ecosystem’s recuperation following the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station disaster, as well as evidence of water purification in the region.

Kherson oblast

The Armed Forces of Ukraine raised the flag of Ukraine behind Antonivskyi Bridge in the left-bank Kherson oblast. The mast with the trident was found on the territory of the Shlyakhovik dacha co-operative. The flag was raised to the anthem of Ukraine.

The russian army shelled Stanislav, Kherson oblast. The centre of the village was hit at least ten times.

The prosecutor’s office reports that around 15:30, a tractor driver was hit by a russian mine near the village of Novopetrivka, Beryslav region. He died on the spot.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported that over August 28, russian troops fired 61 times at Kherson oblast. They hit the buildings of preschools in Kherson and Beryslav region. One person was killed and four more injured. 

On 28 August, the Defence Forces destroyed five boats, a multiple launch rocket system, an anti-aircraft missile system of russian troops and 33 russian servicemen on the left bank of Kherson oblast.

General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the occupation authorities obliged residents of the temporarily occupied Chaplynka in Kherson oblast to obtain russian passports by 1 September. In case of non-compliance, they threaten to confiscate their homes. 

Seven tonnes of propaganda literature were brought to the seized schools in the temporary occupied territories of Kherson oblast. Most of them are textbooks on russian history for the 11th grade. In the books, russia shifts the responsibility for the war to Ukraine and spreads the thesis of “Nazism” among Ukrainians there.

A 50-cubic-metre water tower was installed in Nova Kamianka, Kherson oblast. Thanks to the help of the Rescue Now charity foundation, local residents now have drinking water.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The RMA reported that 3 residential buildings were restored by 9 residents of Volyn, who went to Blahodativka last week. There, volunteers from Kamin-Kashir region dismantled destroyed roofs and erected new ones within the framework of the Side by Side presidential initiative.

Zakarpattia oblast

As of August 29, 2023, since the beginning of martial law, over 195K tonnes of humanitarian cargo have already been delivered to Ukraine through checkpoints in the area of ​​activity of Zakarpattia Customs, including almost 9 thousand vehicles. Most humanitarian aid was provided by partners from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy and Germany. Most often, the humanitarian mission is provided in the form of food, hygiene products, medicines, fuel, clothing for the military, and items of general use.

The RMA held a meeting with Eric Hunkamp, ​​psychiatrist and representative of the Dutch public organization SOFT Tulip. Two one-day training sessions will be held for medical and social workers of psychoneurological dispensaries on how to cope with emotional challenges and remain resilient.

The RMA reported that Zakarpattia allocated UAH 24 mln to restore infrastructure facilities and the housing stock of Kherson oblast.

Kindergartens in Zakarpattia received 24 multimedia sets and children’s toys for shelters from Save the Children.

Fallen heroes were honored on the Hill of Glory in the regional center of Zakarpattia. Leaders of the oblast, the city, the military, diplomats and the public held a moment of silence to remember all those who gave their lives for Ukraine. During the event, a ceremony of laying flowers at the memorial to fallen soldiers and on the graves of Heroes was also held.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that from the regional budget of Prykarpattia, a car and material assets (household appliances and various kitchen equipment) worth over UAH 330K were sent to the newly created battalion.

Ivano-Frankivsk’s City Council reported that the 102nd Territorial Defense Brigade received a vehicle for carrying out combat tasks and a whole bunch of equipment (all according to the lists of needs provided by the military) from the city.

Ivano-Frankivsk’s City Council reported that almost 200 students whose parents were killed defending Ukraine,  received gifts as part of the First Briefcase campaign. First-graders received first school bags, and other students – necessary accessories.

Lviv oblast

In Lviv Coordination Center for the support of the civilian population, representatives of the RMA held a meeting with the families of servicemen. The meeting was attended by leadership of territorial communities, the pension fund, the police, the regional territorial recruitment center and the social protection department.

Horodotsk community received medical equipment, namely, a video gastroscope and a video colonoscope, worth about UAH 3.5 mln thanks to the victory in the Kusanone Program which is financed by the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine. UAH 3,2 mln of grant funds and almost UAH 300K from the budget of Horodok City Council were spent on the equipment.

Maksym Kozytskyi, Head of the RMA, met with a Dutchman who is running a marathon to support Ukraine. Boas Kragtwijk started the run in Amsterdam on July 22 and will finish it, according to plan, 50 days later in Kyiv. During the run, the athlete wants to collect EUR 100K for 2 ambulances to save people during the war.

Rivne oblast

The RMA reported that Rivne oblast will receive UAH 67.2 mln from the European Investment Bank to reconstruction of the shelter in Varasha and insulation of the building of the regional clinical hospital named after Yurii Semeniuk.

4 residents of Rivne oblast were awarded state awards and titles. Andrii Parkhomchuk, Rivneoblenerho electrical, Oleksandr Prystupa, fitter Rivneoblenerho Mlynivsk division foreman, and Ihor Protsun, shift chief of Rivne NPP separate unit, were awarded with the For Work and Victory medal. The honorary title Honored Donor of Ukraine was awarded to Valerii Shumilov.

Ternopil oblast

In Ternopil, on the Day of Remembrance of the defenders of Ukraine, a thematic installation called Sunflowers of Memory was opened. Sunflowers sprouting from the shells symbolize the Ukrainian sun, which Ukrainians see every morning thanks to the defenders who defend Ukraine.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

For over 2 months, builders from Khmelnytskyi oblast have been restoring houses that were damaged during the occupation in the village of Visokopilia, Kherson oblast. Crews replace windows, doors, roofs, and more. Bricklayers and roofers also work. Over UAH 40 mln have already been allocated from the regional budget and community budgets.

Another humanitarian cargo, including 2 rescue vehicles and one fire engine, 100 beds with mattresses, clothing and equipment for fire departments, hygiene and medical supplies, from Stade District has arrived in Khmelnytskyi.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA reported that in Chernivtsi, on the Day of Remembrance of the Fallen Defenders of Ukraine, representatives of the authorities, the public, and the clergy prayed for the fallen soldiers and Ukraine, and laid sunflowers on their graves. 

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

South Korea increased aid to Ukraine eightfold, up to $394 mln next year. According to South Korea’s 2024 budget, the aid package includes $100 mln for reconstruction, over $200 mln for humanitarian aid and $100 mln through international organizations.

The Flight Greek publication reported that the German government wants to buy about 100 Leopard 1A5 tanks from Greece, repair them and transfer them to Ukraine. These tanks are in short supply in all European countries except Greece.

The International working group on sanctions against russia, led by Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, and Ambassador Michael McFaul, Director of the Freeman-Spogli Institute of International Studies (FSI), studied 174 foreign components removed from three models of UAVs used by russian forces on the battlefield in Ukraine. The group’s experts urged manufacturers to do more to prevent russia from accessing their products to circumvent economic sanctions.

To cover demand from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Ukrenerho took emergency assistance from the power system of Poland and Romania. Its total volume was 1200 MWh.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, had a phone conversation with Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister of Japan. They discussed the Global Peace Summit, the G7 declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine, the “grain corridor” and the preparation of the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine, scheduled for Japan at the beginning of next year.

The anti-terrorist headquarters of the Czech Republic is investigating Raiffeisen because of its work in the russian federation. The agency began the investigation after the Association for the Protection of the Rights of Citizens and Entrepreneurs of the Czech Republic filed a criminal complaint against the bank, accusing the institution, which still operates in the russian federation, of supporting the financing of the war against Ukraine.

Hanna Zharova, founder of the Israel Friends of Ukraine organization, announced that in October, the russian theater lenkom was supposed to come to Israel with a tour, but the performances were canceled due to the theater’s actors’ support of russia’s war against Ukraine.
