The Air Force destroyed 2 Kalibr cruise missiles and 1 Shahed-136/131 attack UAV. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Residential buildings, schools and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed.

Towards Lyman, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives near Novoiehorivka in Luhansk. Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations towards Melitopol, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.

According to journalist Yurii Butusov, the Neptune cruise missile destroyed a particularly important ground target – the 48Ya6-K1 Podlet air reconnaissance radar from the S-400 Triumph air defense system in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, says that 20% of the occupiers surrender voluntarily. He also notes that Ukraine has a much smaller so-called “exchange fund” than russia. In the first days of the invasion, the russian federation took a terrible number of hostages here, including civilians, retired law enforcement officers, and ordinary people who they thought were scary to them.

Kharkiv oblast
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Chervonyi Stav, Kyslivla and Pishchane were under air strikes. At least seven settlements were shelled with artillery and mortars.
Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of Ground Forces of Ukraine, reported that towards Kupiansk and Lyman, russians are regrouping to enhance the combat potential and renew active offensive.
Anton Korotovskykh, Director of the Regional Department of Urban Development and Architecture, said that about 22K damaged properties, included in the register of damaged and destroyed property, have been recorded in Kharkiv oblast. Among them are 13,163 private residential buildings and about 3,000 apartment buildings.
Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, informed that the enemy shelled Podoly village, Kupiansk region, at 6.30 am. A 59-year-old civilian man was injured and hospitalized.
Yesterday russian invaders continued to shell civilians if Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, Izium and Kupiansk regions.
In Petropavlivka village, Kupiansk region, a private building was damaged and a fire broke out.

Donetsk oblast
This winter eight communities under Ukrainian control will have no access to centralised heating since boiler houses and gas pipelines were destroyed. The region is 63% ready for the new heating season.
Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, informed that as a result of hostilities, almost 82 K buildings were destroyed or partially damaged in the government-controlled territory of Donetsk oblast.
In the morning russians hit the outskirts of Malotaranivka of Kramatorsk community. There were neither casualties nor destruction.
Towards Volnovakha, Vuhledar suffered an airstrike and 29 artillery attacks. Maksymivka was shelled twice and a building was damaged in Novoukrainka.
Towards Donetsk, 5 people were injured. 5 apartment buildings, a shop and an administrative building were damaged in Kurakhove.
Towards Horlivka, a building in Shcherbynivka of Toretsk community and 2 more in Chasiv Yar community were damaged.
Towards Lysychansk, a building was damaged in Siversk and Lyman community was attacked 5 times.
Yesterday russian troops shelled residential areas of Donetsk oblast 16 times. Also they launched 29 artillery attacks on Vuhledar. Kramatorsk was hit with a missile.

Luhansk oblast
The russian military is storming south of Svatove, namely in the area of Novoiehorivka. The invaders are retreating with significant losses, yet trying to launch another attack. russians are also using aviation there, targeting Nadiia and Tverdokhlibove settlements.
It is reported that russian occupiers shelled Nevske and Bilohorivka with mortars and artillery of various calibers and types.
From September 1, the invaders are introducing full-time mode of education in the frontline cities and regions using distance technologies. In particular, this will take place in Kreminna and Svatove regions, as well as in Lysychansk, Sievierodonetsk and Rubizhne.
As reported by Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the majority of the population of the above communities still do not have electricity supply. There is no mobile phone or Internet communication. However, the russians have announced a remote format of training on a daily basis. Last year, school students had to come to school once a week, hand in their assignments in the yard and receive new ones. There were no lessons in any form.
Residents of Starobilsk complain about the lack of banking infrastructure. The one introduced by the russians is not enough even for local residents. However, closer to the front line, the situation is even worse. That’s why people come from there to cities where the situation is calmer and form long lines. As a result, money and other services are difficult to obtain for both Starobilsk residents and forced guests of the city.

Kyiv oblast
According to the RMA, delegations of European partners visited mass graves in Bucha, the villages of Moshchun and Zaholka, where the destroyed infrastructure and homes are being rebuilt, and Horenka. President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Har Støre, President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, President of Hungary Katalin Novak and Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo paid an official visit to the oblast. Also, the delegation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, headed by the Chairman of the Presidium of the country Željko Komšić and a member of the Presidium Denis Bečirović, paid its first visit to Kyiv oblast.
On Independence Day, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda attended the opening of a restored kindergarten in Irpin, which was almost completely destroyed by the russians last year. According to Kyiv RMA, the Lithuanian government has allocated EUR 4.4 million to restore the kindergarten and provide it with equipment. There are new spacious rooms, a modern kitchen, and a shelter.
The restored Borodyansky Academic Lyceum will open its doors in a full-time format on September 1. As a result of the armed aggression of russia, the lyceum building was heavily damaged. With the financial assistance of Save the Children, the shelter was repaired.

A program to strengthen support for military formations was developed and approved in Kyiv oblast. It will be in effect for 2023-2025. Funding will come from the regional and local budgets.
Poet Serhii Zhadan celebrated his birthday in Kyiv presenting a large-scale project Bird and a show featuring famous artists. The event raised one million hryvnias to support the AFU. The Bird is a joint charity project of Serhii Zhadan and the cultural platform Ark Ukraine.
On August 24, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko took part in the opening of Kyiv Square in Paris. The square is located in the center of Paris, near the Petit Palais Museum, next to the Champs Elysees. At the event, he met with Ukrainian soldiers undergoing rehabilitation in France.
Zhytomyr oblast
The Regional Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service reported that the third bridge in Zhytomyr oblast has been restored after destruction. The crossing of the Dubovets River near the village of Tsarivka on the Kyiv – Chop international road was damaged by air strikes in the first month of the full-scale invasion.
Employees of one of Zhytomyr’s pharmaceutical companies, together with Zhytomyr Community Foundation, handed over an off-road vehicle to the National Guard. A Nissan Navara was purchased for UAH 300 K raised by the company.
Sumy oblast
According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, there were 269 explosions recorded in Sumy oblast. The russians opened fire 39 times. Esman, Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Khotin, Shalyhine, Znob-Novhorodske, Velyka Pyryvka, Seredyno-Buda, and Druzhba communities were under enemy fire. The enemy attacked with mortars and artillery, AGS, LPG, 2 shells were fired from a tank, a VOG was dropped from a UAV and unguided aerial missiles were launched from a helicopter.
At night and in the morning, the russians opened fire 6 times at the border areas of the oblast. There were 19 mortar bombs fired. Seredyno-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske, and Khotin communities were shelled.
Chernihiv oblast
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine informed that over the past 24 hours, the russians opened fire 14 times on the border areas of Chernihiv oblast from their territory. There were 109 shells fired from mortars, tank, barrel artillery, and multiple rocket launchers. Novhorod-Siversk, Semenivka, and Snovsk communities were shelled.
According to Viacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, two residents of Chernihiv are still in serious condition after a russian missile attack on the city center on August 19. 54 people are still staying in hospitals in different cities. According to him, the total number of people injured in the missile attack has increased to 208. Psychologists also work with the victims.
According to Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, in the new academic year in Chernihiv oblast, 60% of schools will study in full-time mode. Last year, this figure was 32% and increased due to the improved condition of shelters. Full-time education is prohibited in the 20-kilometer zone, so students will be studying only in online mode.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast
According to Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the regional council, the military downed an enemy drone over the region. The debris damaged a private house and a gas pipeline in Hrushivka community of Kryvyi Rih region. At night, the enemy attacked Nikopol region. They shelled Nikopol twice with Grad shells and artillery, and in the morning they shelled Marhanets community. A plant and a power line were damaged. 714 consumers were left without electricity.
Zelenodolsk community in Kryvyi Rih region was also shelled. A private house and gas pipelines were damaged. During the day, the occupiers shelled Nikopol region 5 times with artillery and attacked from drones. Nikopol and villages of Marhanets community were attacked.
A photo exhibition dedicated to media workers who defend Ukraine was opened in Dnipro. The exhibition is set up by the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine and includes 15 portraits of journalists, TV presenters, cameramen, and photojournalists from Dnipropetrovsk oblast.
For the sixth time, Dnipropetrovsk oblast joined the all-Ukrainian campaign called Time Does Not Heal. The wives and mothers of soldiers who are missing, imprisoned, or killed in the war gathered at the Alley of Memory in Dnipro. They honoured the soldiers, laid flowers at the stelae and took part in a prayer service.
Vinnytsia oblast
Vinnytsia City Council reported that a Veterans’ Assistant Service Centre is being set up in Vinnytsia at the city’s social services centre. The main task of the veterans’ assistant is to help the military adapt to civilian life after returning from service. They will also be available to the families of our defenders.
Training of veterans’ assistants has started in Vinnytsia at the Veteran Development Centre, which was set up at Vinnytsia National Technical University.
Kirovohrad oblast
According to Andrii Raikovych, Head of Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, builders from Kirovohrad oblast have restored half of the houses in Mala Oleksandrivka, Kherson oblast. Fifty damaged houses were damaged by the occupiers.
Poltava oblast
Residents of Pishchane community collected and delivered humanitarian aid to Ukrainian defenders at the front. They bought long-term storage products, biscuits, sweets, and instant soups. The humanitarian cargo was supplemented with hygiene items, children’s drawings, patriotic amulets, and Ukrainian symbols.
Cherkasy oblast
According to Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA, 95.5 % of schools in Cherkasy oblast are provided with shelters. This will allow children to study either offline or in a mixed format.
According to Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy RMA, 46 schools in Cherkasy oblast have been included in a project for providing financial support to general secondary education institutions in the 2023-2024 academic year. Zaporizhzhia oblast
Yesterday, the enemy conducted 92 shelling attacks on 23 peaceful towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. There were 79 artillery attacks against Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Novoandriivka, Novodarivka, Olhivske, Preobrazhenka, Shcherbaky, Stepnohirsk, Kamianske, Stepove, Plavni, and other frontline settlements. Novodarivka, Poltavka, Huliaipilske, and Lukianivske experienced nine missile attacks, while Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, and Levadne – four airstrikes. As a result of these attacks, there were 17 reports received regarding the destruction of residential buildings, economic structures, and infrastructure objects, with no casualties.
According to Zaporizhzhia RMA, the village of Robotyne is under constant artillery shelling. The evacuation of civilians will continue as soon as the security situation permits.
Occupation authorities of one of the temporarily occupied settlements in Zaporizhia oblast plan to conduct pseudo-referendums. Initially, there will be a “fake staged voting in polling stations,” followed by a forced participation at people’s places. Starting from August 30 of this year, representatives of the occupation authorities will begin visiting apartments to collect votes. Additionally, individuals from the russian territory are being brought into this region and resettled in abandoned houses of local residents. This fact is linked to the preparation for falsifying the voting process and creating the necessary narrative for the russian media. Furthermore, pressure is being intensified on the local population to receive russian passports. Specifically, a requirement is being introduced that payment for utilities, internet, and mobile phones is impossible without russian citizenship. To increase pressure on the local population in the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia oblast, the number of Chechen terrorists is being increased, and they are behaving aggressively, brutally punishing violations of the curfew by the local residents.
Mykolaiv oblast
Mykolaiv RMA reports that on August 24, at 11:48, russian forces carried out artillery strikes at the city of Ochakiv. There are no casualties.
As announced by the humanitarian headquarters of the RMA, Freunde helfen Konvoi and Rosinen Initiative have collected and sent equipment for professional lyceums. These sets include desks, chairs, cabinets, chalkboards, and shelves to ensure effective learning. Experts from Mykolaivgaz discovered damage to the gas pipeline inflicted by a missile during repair works in Bashtanka community. Detailed inspection revealed an undetonated projectile from russian occupiers. Pyrotechnicians from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv oblast were called to the scene to neutralize the explosive object.
Odesa oblast
According to the ‘South’ Operational Command, close to midnight, using tactical aviation over the Black Sea, the enemy launched 2 missiles, possibly Kh-35/Kh-59, towards one of the ports. The air defense forces destroyed them over the sea. A few hours later, a second attack occurred. This time, the enemy directed 2 Kalibr missiles from the Azov Sea waters towards the regional center. Vitalii Humeniuk, Head of the Humeniuk Family Foundation, announced that volunteers from Vinnytsia handed over 11 buggies to the ‘South’ Operational Command military. The charitable fund of the Humeniuk family financed their production, while a local entrepreneur was responsible for their manufacturing. These buggies will operate in various military units as evacuation tools and transportation means. .

Kherson oblast
The russian army attacked Khreshchenivka in Novovorontsovka community. As a result of enemy strikes, a building of a farm enterprise has been damaged.
Yesterday, the russian army conducted 81 shelling attacks, firing 501 projectiles from mortars, artillery, tanks, Grad multiple rocket launchers, drones, and aircraft. The enemy fired 16 projectiles at the city of Kherson. russian military personnel targeted residential areas of settlements in the region, the building of an industrial complex in Kherson, administrative buildings, critical infrastructure objects, a medical facility, and a store in Kherson region, as well as the territory of an elevator and storage buildings, educational institutions’ buildings in Beryslav region. 1 person was killed, and 3 others were injured, including 1 child. The police have initiated 10 criminal cases against russian military personnel for violations of laws and customs of war.
It is reported that russian occupiers are forcing local Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied settlements of Nova Kakhovka, Velyki Kopani, Skadovsk, and Hola Prystan to obtain russian passports, ahead of the so-called “elections.” Those who do not acquire passports by September 1 are threatened with property confiscation. Additionally, on August 22, the occupiers imported to the temporarily occupied Skadovsk a large amount of propaganda-related printed materials and ballots for the pseudo-elections on September 10, 2023. Furthermore, russian occupiers and representatives of the so-called occupation administrations are spreading information among the local population that purportedly “at the highest level, agreements have been reached between Ukraine, Western partners, and russia regarding the retention of temporarily occupied territories in Kherson oblast under russian occupation.”
Electricity has been restored in 187 out of 228 settlements in Kherson oblast since the start of the de-occupation. Ten villages will not be connected to electricity as no one resides there. According to the Ministry of Energy, on August 24, 110 consumers in the five-story buildings of the Korabel neighborhood in Kherson regained power. These buildings were left without electricity due to the flooding caused by the explosion at the russian-occupied Kakhovka HPP. Currently, around 10,300 consumers in Kherson remain without power.
6 buildings damaged by the russian army have been repaired in the village of Davidiv Brid by construction workers from Ivano-Frankivsk as part of the Side-by-Side project. Three teams of builders work daily in the settlement, conducting the dismantling of ruined roofs and restoring them. Humanitarian shipments of roofing materials, timber, and other construction materials are delivered to the village for this purpose. Currently, comprehensive repairs of residential building facades, insulation, and finishing are taking place. Overall, the project will involve 102 de-occupied villages and towns with 13 oblasts of Ukraine participating.
An open art festival of murals on shelters, From Constitution to Independence, have been held in Kherson for two months to support the people of Kherson and decorate concrete shelters. Various artistic institutions , organizations and creative communities of Kherson participated in the initiative. Fifteen concrete shelters were adorned with paintings depicting military themes, support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Kherson watermelons, and the national flag. While the art festival is officially closed, some murals are still being painted.

The project Stone Embroidery of Nova Kakhovka on Textile was presented in Sofia on the occasion of Ukrainian Independence Day. The exhibition consists of 12 textile panels – replicas of the “stone embroideries” that adorned the buildings of Nova Kakhovka, which were constructed together with the Kakhovka HPP in the 1950s. The compositions were created by Ukrainian monumental artist Hryhorii Dovzhenko. Over 2K square meters of decorative panels or ‘stone embroideries’ were produced.

Volyn oblast
In the village of Blahodativka, Kherson oblast, the reconstruction of homes affected by the russian invasion continues as part of the Presidential initiative Side by Side. Teams of specialists from Volyn are building frames and repairing roofs destroyed by shelling. In particular, Volyn residents have already restored 14 residential buildings. Next week, the Volyn brigade will be replaced by another to continue restoration work.
Zakarpattia oblast
On the Independence Day of Ukraine, representatives of the RMA visited the soldiers of the Transcarpathian 128th Brigade, who are performing combat missions in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The defenders were honored with awards and presented with badges “For the Development of Transcarpathia”.
Volunteers from Velykoluchkivska community of Mukachevo region were restoring the village of Posad-Pokrovske, Kherson oblast. They helped to install street lighting and video surveillance cameras near the local humanitarian hub.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
The RMA reports that Volodymyr Zelenskyi presented the Golden Star award (posthumously) to the family of the fallen Hero Vitalii Bondaruk – his wife Anna and 6-year-old son Maksym.
Lviv oblast
Lieutenant Colonel Yuriy Kondzirskyi, Deputy Head of the 2nd Division of the Zolochiv Regional Military and Technical Center, read out Presidential Decree No. 244/2023, according to which soldier Roman Kshyvetskyi was awarded with the Order For Courage of the III degree. The award ceremony took place in the village of Verbliany, Buska community. The order was received by the Hero’s mother Halyna Krzyvetska.
The RMA reports that the family of the fallen defender Andriy Hudyma sent 20 kamikaze drones to the front. On August 23, Andriy Hudyma, a defender and soldier of the 80th separate air assault brigade, would have turned 44. However, his life was cut short while defending our country near Bakhmut. The defender’s daughter, Yulia Hudyma, also handed over the keys to her father’s car. They were received by the office of support for military families and the coordination headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war.
A memorial plaque to Ivan Rusyn, dissident, member of the Sixties movement, and longtime political prisoner, was installed in Horodok. It was placed on the facade of the educational complex No. 2, where the defender studied from 1948 to 1954.
In Chervonohrad, the Honorary Citizen of Chervonohrad Territorial Community awards were presented to the families of the Heroes who died in the fight for Ukraine’s freedom and independence.

The Krakow Volunteer Fire Department donated a fire truck to Drohobych community. It was given to the 7th State Fire and Rescue Detachment stationed in Drohobych.
24 evacuation vehicles equipped with all the necessary supplies were sent to the front line to help soldiers. They were donated by the British Ukrainian Aid and Smart Medical Aid charities in cooperation with the Lviv Regional Ambulance Association as part of the 100 Ambulances for Ukraine project.
The oblast hosts the Sorochynsky Fair for the first time. This is the largest fair and exhibition event in Ukraine and the most famous outside of it, which has been preserved since the 18th century. Traditionally, it was held in Velyki Sorochyntsi, Poltava oblast, but the security situation does not allow it due to the full-scale war. The fair will last until August 27.
Rivne oblast
Olena Khotenko, coordinator of the Advisory Council of the Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances in Rivne oblast, was awarded with the badge For Assistance to the Army by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi. Also, 10 civilians from paramilitary units of the city received certificates of honor from Rivne Regional Military Administration. Civil servants and employees of the migration service were also awarded.
On the Independence Day of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented an honorary award – a ribbon to the battle flag “For Courage and Bravery” – to the 9th Sich Riflemen Border Guard Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
On Independence Day, a fair was held in Rivne. In Rokytne, UAH 182 K was raised for a car for the Armed Forces, and in Varash, UAH 98 K for the treatment of a fellow countryman. Another fair was held in Mlyniv community to support the Armed Forces. They managed to raise UAH 145 K for the soldiers. In Myrohoshchanka community, people donated UAH 18 K.
Ternopil oblast
On August 24, a patriotic event was held to present the documentary One Day Closer to Victory about soldiers of the Ternopil 105th Separate Territorial Brigade. The film shows the stories of 16 Heroes who have been defending our land since the first days of the full-scale invasion.
On August 23 and 24, a charity fair was held to raise funds for thermal imagers and walkie-talkies. During the first day, the charity fundraisers managed to raise more than UAH 17 K.
Hero of Ukraine Ihor Dykun from Ternopil oblast received the Silver Cross award from Valeriy Zaluzhnyi.
Yaroslav Ivanov, a military medic from Ternopil, received the badge “For Service and Valor of the 3rd Degree”.
City Mayor Serhii Nadal reports that Ukraine’s heroes were posthumously awarded with the title of Honorary Citizen of Ternopil by the City Council.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
On the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day, representatives of the city council visited wounded soldiers undergoing treatment in the city’s medical facilities and brought them goodies from local entrepreneurs. Famous Khmelnytsky bard Ihor Bilyi performed for the military.
Chernivtsi oblast
Chernivtsi City Council has announced full-time training that will begin on September 1. Some facilities will have a mixed form, depending on the size of the shelter.
ATO/JFO participants and defenders registered in the oblast are entitled to free dental prosthetics worth up to UAH 20 K per person.

Finland has approved a new €94 million military aid package for Ukraine.
Norway will provide Ukraine with a new aid package. It will include IRIS-T missiles, portable kits for creating corridors through minefields, and equipment for repairing critical electrical infrastructure. Jonas Gahr Støre, Prime Minister of Norway, confirmed the country’s plans to provide a number of F-16 fighter jets and join the training of pilots.
On the occasion of the anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, Lithuania is sending another package of military support worth 41 million euros. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of National Defence of Lithuania. The package will include Carl Gustaf ammunition, rifles, maritime surveillance radars, 5.56 mm ammunition, generators, drone countermeasures, and more. Ukraine will also receive NASAMS missile systems.
Germany also announced a new package of military assistance to Ukraine. It includes missiles for Patriot air defense systems, 10 drone detection systems, 40 RQ-35 HEIDRUN reconnaissance drones, 16 Zetros trucks, and 510 K rounds of ammunition for firearms.

The Government of Canada has appointed a new ambassador to Ukraine: Natalie Tsmoc will replace Larysa Galadza and head the diplomatic mission in Kyiv. It is noted that the newly appointed ambassador speaks Ukrainian and “has deep ties to the Ukrainian community in Ukraine and Canada”.

The Korean corporation Korea Water Resources (K-water) will design a smart city in Uman. The agency will focus on developing the business environment and tourism.
Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada has published a list of 29 legal entities and four individuals from russia against whom sanctions have been imposed. Among them are russian banks – Uralsib, Zenith, Rosbank and the All-Russian Bank for Regional Development. The sanctions also targeted Interros Holding, Severstal, Rosatom’s subsidiary RUSATOM Overseas, FSUE Atomflot, PJSC NPO Almaz and other organizations.
