What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On March 31, there were 49 tactical engagements.

The enemy launched a total of 23 missile and 61 air strikes, 41 MLRS attacks on positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there were no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group were found.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the russian areas bordering Ukraine. The enemy conducts subversion, continues shelling of Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the concentration of mining operations along the state border of Ukraine. Ukrainian troops blocked an infiltration attempt by an enemy subversive reconnaissance group near Stara Huta (Sumy oblast). The adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Oleksandrivka (Sumy oblast), Ohirtseve (Kharkiv oblast). Around 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Buda-Vorobivska, Yeline (Chernihiv oblast), Seredyna-Buda, Lukashivka, Starykove (Sumy oblast), Kozacha Lopan, Lukiantsi, and Ternova (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, there were no enemy offensive operations reported. The russian army launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Petropavlivka, and Kotlyarivka (Kharkiv oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Syn’kivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Stepova Novoselivka (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 3 assaults in the vicinity of Terny (Donetsk oblast), where the enemy, with air support, made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Pershotravneve (Kharkiv oblast) and Yampolivka (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10x settlements, including Nevske (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Yampolivka, and Torske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 7 attacks in the vicinities of Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast), where the invaders, using air attacks, made attempts to improve their tactical position. The adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Chasiv Yar, Rozdolivka (Donetsk oblast). More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, and Stupochky (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 9 attacks in the vicinities of Semenivka, Umanske, and Pervomaiske (Donetsk oblast), where the occupiers, using air attacks, made attempts to dislodge Ukrainian forces from their positions. The adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, and Orlivka (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 20 settlements, including Berdychi, Umanske, Netailove, and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Novopavlivka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to block the enemy near Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka and east of Vodiane (Donetsk oblast), where the invaders, using air attacks, made 16 attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The occupiers launched air strikes in the vicinities of Pobjeda and Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Hostre, Maksymilianivka, Kostiantynivka, and Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy, with air support, conducted 2 attacks on positions of Ukrainian defenders in the vicinities of Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast) and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Around 20 settlements, including Malynivka, Poltavka, Mala Tokmachka, and Novodanylivka (Zaporizhzhia oblast), were under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Kherson, the enemy executed 2 assaults on positions of Ukrainian defenders on the left bank of the Dnipro. The occupiers fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Zolota Balka, Kizomys, Antonivka, Krynky, and Ponyativka (Kherson oblast).

On March 31, the Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 10 buildups of enemy troops, weapons and military equipment.

The Ukrainian Rocket Forces hit 2 UAVs control posts, 1 air defence system, 1 electronic warfare station, and 1 artillery system of the russian invaders.


The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine informs that Ukrainian flags were raised over the settlements of Shabalne, Pishchane and Dehtiarne in Kharkiv oblast. Currently, the territory there is densely mined, and due to constant enemy shelling, it is uninhabitable.

The Ministry of Defense reports that the domestic BTR-4E was presented in Ukraine. It is an armoured, wheeled, four-axle, floating combat vehicle designed to transport mechanized ground forces and provide them with fire support in combat.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Serhii Melnyk, Head of Kharkiv garrison and Kharkiv defence forces, reported that five residents of Kharkiv oblast were injured as a result of russian shelling of a village in Zmiivka community in the afternoon.

It was decided to create an occupation museum in Izium to remember the russian occupation and punish those responsible for war crimes. The author Kostiantyn Hryhorenko said that the collection of materials for the exhibition has been going on since the de-occupation of the city and already includes about 200 exhibits.

Yesterday at 9:10pm, Kharkiv was under hostile shelling in Shevchenkivskyi district, probably by KAB bombs. 8 buildings and houses, 1 car were damaged as a result of the shelling. A 35-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman were injured.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that about 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast suffered artillery and mortar attacks by the enemy yesterday: Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka and others. Kudiivka, Strilecha, Pletenivka, Hryhorivka, Synkivka and Petropavlivka were hit by airstrikes.

Borova settlement, Izium region, was hit four times between 1am and 2am. A 4-storey residential building was damaged. An apartment was hit by a Smerch MRL. As a result of a series of shelling, 9 cars were damaged, a private residential building partially destroyed. As a result of a hit to the ground near the service station, 3 cars, 2 trade pavilions and the facade of the building were damaged. A 19-year-old man was killed and another 27-year-old man hospitalised with injuries. Head of the CMA said that the exact number of damaged buildings and cars is still being calculated. According to preliminary data, the attackers used cluster munitions.

At 10:01pm, 3 private houses, a car and an outbuilding were damaged as a result of hostile shelling in Vovchansk. There were no casualties.

At 1:35pm, a private house and a fence were damaged as a result of a shelling in Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi village. There were no casualties.

At 12:30pm and 4pm there was an enemy shelling of Vovchansk and as a result a private house and 2 private cars were damaged. There were no casualties.

At 8:30am, a private house was damaged as a result of shelling by MRLs in Kolisnykivka village, Kupiansk region. There were no casualties.

On 30 March at 8:30am, Cherneshchyna village, Izium region, was shelled, damaging a private household. The residential building was on fire. There were no casualties.

The enemy did not conduct any offensive towards Kupiansk yesterday.

Combined teams of bomb experts cleared 35.77 hectares of mines and destroyed 251 explosive ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

The General Staff said that Ukrainian troops repelled 78 russian attacks on the frontlines of Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts on 30 March. The russian army attacked with the support of aviation towards Lyman.

Yurii Fedorenko, Commander of the Achilles unmanned aerial vehicle battalion, reported that the russian army has not had any successes on the battlefield towards Bakhmut yesterday. Also russian troops want to reach Chasiv Yar because it is a dominant height, while storming the settlements on the left.

Mykola Kovalenko, Head of Ocheretyne Settlement State-Military Administration, informed that about 200 people have been evacuated from Ocheretyne community over the past week. Today, 31 March, 18 more people left. There are still 729 residents in the community.

Oleksii Yukov, Head of the search team, confirmed that searchers of the Plastdarm detachment have removed the bodies of russian servicemen from near Bakhmut. After identification, they will be exchanged for the fallen Ukrainian servicemen.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, informed that this week, together with the Global Empowerment Mission in Ukraine in partnership with the Howard G BUFFETT Foundation, 20 generators were delivered to the communities. The communities also received over 548 tonnes of charitable aid.

The regional police said that on 30 March, the russian army shelled 14 settlements in Donetsk oblast and damaged residential buildings, a dormitory, a business, outbuildings, garages, vehicles and power grids.

The operational situation in the oblast as of the morning of 31 March is as follows:

Towards Volnovakha, an agricultural enterprise was damaged in Bohoiavlenka of Vuhledar community.

Towards Pokrovsk, 2 people died and 1 was injured in Krasnohorivka. In Kurakhove, 3 people were injured; 5 private houses in Hirnyk, 4 in Kurakhivka and 1 in Izmailivka were damaged. In Mykolaivka of Novohrodivka community, 3 houses were damaged.

Towards Kramatorsk, in Lyman community, 6 private houses were damaged: 5 in Terny and 1 in Ivanivka. A person was injured in Kostiantynivka and 3 private houses damaged.

Towards Bakhmut, 4 private houses, an apartment building and an industrial building were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. A house was damaged in Serebrianka of Siversk community.

In total, russians attacked settlements in Donetsk oblast 18 times. 584 people, including 33 children, were evacuated from the frontline.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of the RMA, reported that yesterday russians killed 2 civilians in Krasnohorivka.

Luhansk oblast

The 3rd Border Guard Detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine, Colonel Yevhen Pikus, reported that over the past week, Luhansk border guards destroyed and suppressed 334 UAVs. The enemy continues intense shelling and is trying to storm the positions of border guards towards Lyman.

Since the beginning of the week, the enemy has fired more than 60 artillery and mortar rounds, launched four airstrikes and attempted to storm the border guards’ positions with the support of armoured vehicles near Bilohorivka. However, the enemy suffered losses and retreated, three invaders were eliminated and three more injured.

In total, in all directions in the area of responsibility of the detachment, our soldiers fired 321 times at the enemy, destroyed two armoured personnel carriers, three vehicles, three control points, destroyed and suppressed 334 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.

The enemy continued to try to succeed in Bilohorivka, but once again all the assaults were repelled by our defenders. Also russians shelled settlements by artillery. They also used aircraft to attack Novoliubivka. Police recorded the destruction of houses and outbuildings at two more addresses in Nevske. These are the consequences of the shelling carried out by the invaders this year.

Also, according to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, units of the 5th anti-aircraft missile brigade of the 6th Combined Arms Army of the enemy’s Western Military District, which is currently located in the occupied territory of Luhansk oblast, are to be transferred to kursk region to strengthen local air defence.

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, in Lysychansk, the invaders have made the first lists of apartments with no owners. Local collaborators are going to “nationalise” this housing, as they say.

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that residents of Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk, which were destroyed by russians, are offered up to rub 100,000 for written testimonies about war crimes allegedly committed by Ukrainians. To receive a small amount of money, it is necessary to indicate that the settlements that the invaders have been storming for several months and the applicant himself suffered from shelling by Ukraine.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration,  announced that shelters are being built in educational institutions in the oblast: shelters are being built in 17 schools and kindergartens, and shelters are being repaired in 16. Modular shelters will soon be installed in six educational institutions. Currently, they are developing design and estimate documentation for the construction and major repairs of shelters in 42 schools and kindergartens that work online.

Kyiv RMA reported that a partnership meeting regarding the strategic goals of the school meal reform was held in Bucha. The event was held at the country’s first kitchen factory with the participation of the ambassadors of the USA, Canada, Finland, Italy, Norway, Estonia, representatives of international organizations, ministries and agencies. 3 Culinary hubs have already been created in Kyiv oblast. By the end of the year, 25 more “support kitchens” are planned. The equipment of food units in 34 educational institutions is being modernized.

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy reported that to mark the second anniversary of the de-occupation of Kyiv oblast, a concert BUCHA: LACRIMOSA will be held in the Church of Saint Andrew the First-Called in Bucha on March 31 in memory of innocent Ukrainians killed as a result of russian military aggression. 

On the second anniversary of the liberation of Kyiv oblast, Army TV will show the documentary “Occupation of Bucha: How it was”. The film was created by a team of the independent media of Bucha and the oblast. The authors emphasize that the memories of the residents should not be lost in the passage of time, because it is a reminder to the world about the crimes of the russian terrorist regime.

The capital bookstore Siaivo knyhy invites citizens to join the open-ended project “Book to the Front”. To do this, you need to choose a book in the bookstore or bring your own. The main thing is that it should be modern, in Ukrainian and in good condition. They also offer to write words of thanks to the Ukrainian military on a postcard.

The Plan for creating a barrier-free tourist environment was presented in Kyiv. It is planned to create a database on the availability of accommodation and public catering facilities, cultural and artistic institutions, shopping malls and other tourist attractions. It should also include free social excursions and lectures, taking into account the needs of people with disabilities and people with reduced mobility.

Zhytomyr oblast

Zhytomyr Military Administration reported that thanks to the fruitful cooperation of the RMA and UNICEF, it was possible to repair shelters in four kindergartens in the Olevsk region. Bomb shelters are equipped with everything necessary: a modern ventilation system, emergency power sources, plumbing, furniture. Cots are also installed there so that the little ones can rest even during air raids. 

Sumy oblast

 On the night and morning of 31 Marc , the russians carried out 4 attacks on the border areas of Sumy oblast with 29 explosions recorded. Khotyn, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka and Znob-Novhorodske communities came under shelling. On the territory of Velyka Pysarivka community, the enemy carried out an aerial bombardment with the launch of guided aerial bombs from a tactical aircraft (3 hits).

Sumy RMA reported that during the past day, the russians carried out 45 shelling attacks with a total of 254 strikes from various types of weapons recorded. Khotyn, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Sloboda, Shalyhine, Esman, Hlukhiv, Seredina-Buda and Znob-Novhorodske communities came under shelling. 

The occupiers used a heavy ODAB-1500 aerial bomb (volume-detonating aerial bomb) against Ukraine. The village of Velyka Pisarivka in Sumy oblast was attacked with such a warhead. Bild writes that based on the analysis of open data, a cloud of smoke 1 km high rose into the sky after the air bomb hit. This ammunition has a greater impact than the classic one. Previously, the russian military used such aerial bombs, but of the smaller mass (from 170 to 500 kg).

Volodymyr Artyukh, Head of Sumy Regional Military Administration,  said that several lines of stationary fortifications are being built in the oblast at the same time according to the project of the Central Design Institute of the Ministry of Defense. Concrete, wood, metal structures are used. 26 companies of contractors from different regions of Ukraine participate in building fortifications in Sumy oblast.

The National Police of Ukraine reported that employees of the explosives department of the police in Sumy oblast found and destroyed five russian air-to-ground missiles that failed to work when launched and got stuck in the ground. These are unguided S-8 air missiles, which were developed back in 1955 and are in service in several modifications in russia to this day. 

Chernihiv oblast

During the past day, russian troops carried out 14 attacks on the border of Chernihiv oblast with 69 explosions recorded. As reported by the SBGS, three communities of the oblast were under enemy shelling: Novhorod-Siverskyi – 9 mortar hits, Semenivka – 54 hits from barrel artillery and mortars, Snovsk – 6 hits from AGS.

In Nizhyn, three modular underground shelters were assembled on the basis of schools. There is heating, drainage and magnetic locks that will activate during an alarm. Currently, one of them is ready for use, two are being furnished. Nizhyn City Mayor Oleksandr Kodola said that the money for it was allocated from the budget.

On March 27, zoo volunteers brought homeless animals from the border of Sumy oblast to Nizhyn. Activists from the  Happy Animal shelter NGO reported that due to constant shelling, 22 dogs and Vaska the cat were evacuated. Two days before the trip, additional enclosures were built for the animals. All animals were given medical care, one dog has already been taken to a family.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of the Regional Council, says that the occupiers hit Marganets community of Nikopol region. They fired artillery at one of the settlements.

There were about two dozen attacks in Nikopol region, the enemy launched kamikaze drones and a dozen artillery shells in the area. They hit the regional centre, Marganets, Myrove, Pokrovsk and Chervonohryhorivka communities. Two administrative buildings were damaged, a fire broke out in a warehouse building, a shop, a private house and 2 outbuildings were affected.

Serhiy Lysak, head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, informs that in Dnipropetrovsk oblast, fortifications continue to be built. More than 42 kilometers of anti-tank ditches were dug and 11 thousand tetrahedrons – special concrete pyramids – were installed. Work continues simultaneously in several directions

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia City Council reports that the community paid tribute to the fallen Defender Vladyslav Boichuk. Vladyslav joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine as soon as he turned 18. He has been at war since 2021 and met a full-scale invasion at the front. He defended Ukraine as part of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. Vladislav took his last battle near the village of Orlivka, Donetsk region. The soldier’s life was cut short at 21.

Kirovohrad oblast

Since the beginning of the laws on decommunization, more than 100 Soviet-era monuments have been dismantled in the Kirovohrad region.

Cherkasy oblast

Military families, concerned citizens, public figures, and volunteers gathered on Cathedral Square in Cherkasy to remind them of the defenders who are currently in captivity. This time, about a hundred people gathered for an hour-long silent rally, holding flags, photos and posters calling for the release of the military.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, the enemy launched 343 strikes on 8 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. A 12-year-old child was injured as a result of russian shelling. The russian military conducted an airstrike on Malynivka, 5 MLRS strikes on Levadne and Robotyne, and 290 artillery strikes on the territory of Huliaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, Novoandriivka, Malynivka, Dolynka, and Levadne. Additionally, 47 UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) attacked Chervonodniprovka, Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, and Novoandriivka. There were 11 reports of destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure objects.

On 30 March, a fire broke out  in Polohy region due to russian shelling. According to rescuers, the roof of a summer kitchen and utility building caught fire. The fire spread over an area of ​​100 square meters.

The General Staff provided that occupiers carried out 5 attacks on the positions of our defenders near Staromaiorsk in Donetsk oblast and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reports that on 30 March, the Air Defense Forces destroyed an X-59 missile in Mykolaiv oblast. The russian army struck Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities, as well as the waters of Ochakiv community Additionally, russian forces attacked Voznesensk region with tactical aviation, damaging a decommissioned building. There were no reported casualties or injuries.

The South Ukrainian Energy Complex informs that a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), led by Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi, visited the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant (SUNPP) for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion. During the meeting, attended by the management of the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company Energoatom, ways to address a range of urgent issues were discussed, including ensuring the safety of operation and physical protection of the NPP units during the russian armed aggression. 

Iryna Ponomareva, Head of the Children’s Affairs Service of Mykolaiv RMA, says that as of March 2024, nearly 5,000 children in Mykolaiv oblast have the status of war-affected individuals. According to the Children’s Affairs Service, specialists are struggling to provide the appropriate status due to the influx of applications. 

Odesa oblast

The South Operational Command reports that during the night, 8 russian drones were shot down in Odesa oblast. Debris damaged a power facility. No injuries were reported, but several settlements were left without electricity. 

Trams and trolleybuses are not operating in Odesa. According to the City Council, this is due to limitations on electricity supply.

Kherson oblast

Yesterday, the enemy shelled Antonivka, Sadove, Tiahynka, Inzhenerne, Mykhailivka, Beryslav, Kizomys, Zolota Balka, Poniativka, Stanislav, Shliakhove, Oskorivka, Lvove, Bilozerka, and the city of Kherson. Additionally, the enemy launched missile strikes on Beryslav region  and attacked Kherson region with two Shahed-131/136 drones. 2 high-rise buildings, 21 private houses, an educational institution, industrial and agricultural facilities, as well as a warehouse, were damaged as a result of russian attacks. As a result of another russian attack on Kherson oblast, another person was injured. Yesterday evening, the enemy shelled Poniativka, resulting in an 84-year-old man sustaining shrapnel wounds to his legs. He was hospitalized.

Counter-battery combat measures continue in the operational zone of the Southern Defense Forces. The enemy attempted 2 assaults on the left bank of the Dnipro River to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions. No armoured vehicles were involved in the assaults. The enemy retreated to their original positions suffering significant losses. The occupiers intensified aerial reconnaissance with a change in weather – over 200 reconnaissance drones were detected within a day.

Yesterday, the enemy lost 141 occupiers and 50 units of weaponry and military equipment on the Orikhiv and Kherson fronts, including 2 tanks, 23 armoured vehicles, 13 artillery systems, 4 anti-aircraft defense systems, 1 ground control station for UAVs, 1 reconnaissance UAV, 2 radar stations, and 4 surveillance devices. Additionally, 4 field supply buildups and a checkpoint were destroyed.

Demining units of the State Transport Special Service discovered, seized, and destroyed 839 explosive objects on the liberated territory of Kherson oblast from 25 March to 31 March. The area of demined territory in the region over the week amounted to 1883.6 hectares.

Kherson RMA informs that 188 out of 228 settlements in liberated territory of Kherson oblast have been restored. Currently, about 30% of the population resides in the region, and the enterprises that were the main consumers are not operational. Therefore, the region does not require a lot of electricity, and there are no power outages. 

Around 20,000 food kits were provided to residents of Kherson in March by volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross and the World Food Programme. The food kits contain a month’s supply of basic products such as oil, cereals, canned goods, flour, and sugar.

The public organizations DESYATE KVITNIA and CARE distributed hygiene kits to residents of the village of Zmiivka in Beryslav region. In addition, seeds for various vegetables from the All-Ukrainian Association of Communities were received. These include lettuce, corn, zucchini, and watermelon seeds.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Lutsk City Council reported that the community sent 2 DJI Mavic 3 quadcopters, a DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise and a DJI Mavic 3 Thermal quadcopter to the A4742 fleet thanks to the budget funds.

Zakarpattia oblast

Zakarpattia continues to build fortifications in Zaporizhzhia oblast. In its area of ​​responsibility, there are 13 construction sites of engineering and technical and fortification structures, 12 of which the creation of shelters for equipment has already been completed. At three more facilities, the installation of connecting passages with a length of over 6,000 linear metres was completed. Builders and engineers from the oblast are building a line of defence and military engineering and technical facilities, setting up barrier systems, etc., around the clock, despite the constant attacks of the enemy.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

44 children from Kharkiv oblast, accompanied by adults, arrived in Prykarpattia for recovery in a sanatorium in Kosiv region. Besides having a rest, children will be able to continue their training. In total, over 300 children from the front-line oblast, namely, Kherson, Sumy, Donetsk and Kharkiv oblasts, are being rehabilitated in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast.

Lviv oblast

During the air alert, which lasted from 05:01 to 06:27, the enemy attacked with cruise missiles the same critical infrastructure object in Lviv oblast targeted on 24 and 29 March.  The administration building was ruined. Firefighters promptly extinguished the fire there. One man was killed as a result of the attack. Now the rescuers are sorting out the debris.

Lviv City Council reported that the community continues to support the Ukrainian army. In March 2024, the city sent various equipment worth UAH 75.6 m as part of the Lion’s Revenge initiative.

Rivne oblast

In Rivne oblast, fragments of the air target damaged the electric resistance equipment. Relevant services are working on site. Electricity supply is provided. People were not injured.

In Rivne, the project Support for Children and Adolescents Affected by the War in Ukraine is being implemented thanks to the Divchata NGO. Children aged 6-17 will be able to receive psychological consultations, psychological training sessions, art therapy, sexual education activities, case management services in the field of child protection, and social rehabilitation. Various activities in art, creativity, sports, yoga, and games aimed at restoring the moral, mental and physical state will be provided for free.

Ternopil oblast

In Ternopil oblast, the Recovery Army government project is being implemented. It targets people who temporarily lost their jobs and provides them with socially useful work. In particular, employment centres have recruited 1,434 people, including 460 people in 2024. 83 of them are IDPs.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

At night, during an air alert, the air defence forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated 1 UAV of the Shahed type. There were no injuries or infrastructure damage.

The winner of the Battle of Startups, which was held in 2023 in Khmelnytskyi community, received UAH 250,000 to launch his serial production of FPV quadcopters with up to 25% better performance. In addition to the purchase of equipment for setting up and testing drones and components, the author of the project organised free military training in piloting FPV drones at the FPV drone school. The estimate of the project amounted to over UAH 340,000, of which UAH 250,000 are funds received from the victory in the startup competition and UAH 90,742 are his own funds and those raised from other investors.

Chernivtsi oblast

In Khotyn, RMA representatives met with war veterans, civil activists and volunteers who provide services to defenders and their families. They discussed integration of veterans into civilian life, their employment, social and medical support. In particular, 455 people released from military service were registered in Dnistrovsk region. 

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Sebastien Lecorneau, Minister of the Armed Forces of France, announced that the country will send missiles, armoured vehicles and remote-controlled ammunition to Ukraine. VAB armoured personnel carriers are over 40 years old, but they are serviceable. In the French army, they are now being replaced by the new generation Griffon armoured vehicles. Lecornyu noted that the aid package will also include Aster 30 missiles for SAMP/T Mamba air defence systems.

The EU banned the flights of the Turkish airline because of the connection with the russian federation. The basis for this was the conclusions of the aviation authority of Finland, which concluded that the actual control over Southwind Airlines is carried out from russia.

Elina Valtonen, Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, allowed the possibility of sending foreign troops to Ukraine. She believes that Emmanuel Macron, French President, did the right thing when he made russia wonder what the limits of Western support for Ukraine might be.

Kateryna Levchenko, Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, took part in the conference Women, Peace and Security in Central and Eastern Europe online. The event took place in Prague (the Czech Republic), organised by Nottingham Trent University and the Institute of International Relations in Prague in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The purpose of the conference is to share experiences and best practices on how civil society can more effectively involve and shape national plans for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 Women, Peace, Security in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania and Ukraine.

A new direct railway route between Slovakia and Ukraine will be launched this year from Kyiv to Kosice. From Kyiv, the train will reach the Haniska station near Kosice through the Pavlovo-Matovske Vojkovce border crossing.
