It has been the 759th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On 23 March, there were 64 combat clashes.

In total, the enemy launched 6 missile and 70 air strikes, carried out 72 MLRS attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. High-rise and private buildings were destroyed and damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the operational situation has not changed significantly. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected. 

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells settlements from the territory of the russian federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Seredyna-Buda and Vorozhba of Sumy oblast; Zemlianka, Potykhonove, and Bolohivka, Kharkiv oblast. More than 15 settlements were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Huta-Studenetska, Bleshnya, Karpovychi of Chernihiv oblast; Bilopillia, Kindrativka, and Zapsillia of Sumy oblast; Kozacha Lopan, Vovchansk, Krasne, and Neskuchne of Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations. It carried out an airstrike near Kislivka, Kharkiv oblast. More than 10 settlements, including Holubivka, Dvorichna, and Synkivka of Kharkiv oblast, came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Lyman, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 6 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast and Terny, Yampolivka, Rozdolivka, Vesele in Donetsk oblast, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defences of Ukrainian troops. More than 10 settlements were affected by artillery and mortar shelling, including Makiivka, Nevske in Luhansk oblast and Torske and Serebrianka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 11 enemy attacks in the areas of Klishchiivka, Bohdanivka, and Ivanivske settlements of Donetsk oblast. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Dachne and Druzhba settlements of Donetsk oblast. About 10 settlements, including Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka and Andriivka of Donetsk oblast, came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Avdiivka, Ukrainian defenders repelled 9 enemy attacks in the areas of Berdychi, Tonenke, and Pervomaiske settlements of Donetsk oblast. The enemy carried out airstrikes in the areas of Umanske and Semenivka settlements of Donetsk oblast. About 20 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar shelling, including Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Semenivka, Pervomaiske and Nevelske of Donetsk oblast.

Towards Novopavlivka, the Defense Forces continue to restrain the enemy in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Kostiantynivka and Urozhaine settlements, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to break through the defences of Ukrainian  troops 27 times. The enemy also carried out airstrikes in the area of the settlement of Vuhledar, Donetsk oblast. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire from the occupiers, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Paraskoviivka of Donetsk oblast.

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders 3 times, with the support of aviation, in the area of the settlement of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia oblast. It also carried out airstrikes in the areas of Staromaiorske settlements of the Donetsk oblast; Malynivka and Stepove, Zaporizhzhia oblast. About 15 settlements were hit by artillery and mortar fire, including Poltavka, Malynivka, Charivne, Bilohiria, Novodanylivka, and Piatykhatky of Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Towards Kherson, the enemy carried out 1 unsuccessful attack on the positions of Ukrainian troops in the area of the settlement of Krynky, Kherson oblast.  It carried out an airstrike in the area of Tokarivka, Kherson oblast. More than 10 settlements, in particular Burhunka, Tyahinka, Kizomys, Stanislav of Kherson oblast and the city of Kherson, were hit by artillery and mortar shelling.

The Air Force of the Defense Forces struck 8 buildups of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment. 

Units of rocket forces inflicted damage on 1 buildup of enemy personnel, 4 checkpoints, 1 means of air defense, 1 artillery vehicle and 1 radar station.


Ihor Syrota, the General Director of Ukrhydroenergo, informs that due to the damage to the Dnipro HPP as a result of the russian attack, 20% of Ukrhydroenergo’s regulating capacities were lost. The equipment that will not be restored and needs to be replaced. This is custom-made equipment and its production time is quite long. 

Andrii Yusov, representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, the disseminated version of Russia that the perpetrators of the terrorist attack in Moscow oblast fled to Ukraine does not stand up to scrutiny. He says that you do not need to be a security expert to do this. A full-scale war has been going on for more than two years, the border areas are saturated with enemy troops, special agents, representatives of special services, and security forces.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Zemlianky, Potikhonove, Bolohivka and Kyslivka were hit by airstrikes in Kharkiv region over a day. Kozacha Lopan, Vovchansk, Krasne, Neskuchne, Holubivka, Dvorichna and Synkivka were under artillery and mortar attack.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, informed that for the second day in a row, the elimination of the consequences of massive hostile shelling of our energy infrastructure is ongoing. 22 missiles of various types were launched: S-300 guided missiles, ballistic missiles from the Iskander air defence system and others. The damage is really critical.

Mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed that it is impossible to fully restore the power supply over the weekend. He added that a hit was recorded in Kharkiv in the afternoon in an industrial area in one of the districts. According to him, people were not injured during the russian strike. Terekhov noted that houses nearby were damaged. According to him, as of 6pm, about 35% of houses in Kharkiv have electricity and 50% have heating.

The press service of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that russian troops attacked Kharkiv by an X-35 missile. The warehouses and buildings of the enterprise were damaged.

From 12:10am, Kharkiv was under attack by a Shahed UAV. A municipal facility was hit, setting fire to the roof and premises on the third floor of the building.

As a result of a night drone attack on Kharkiv, a fire broke out in a three-storey building covering an area of 150 sq m. The State Emergency of Service informed that when rescuers and police arrived, russians hit the building a second time.

Serhii Bolvinov, Head of Kharkiv police investigation department, stated that a police forensic officer, a rescue squad commander and a driver of the State Emergency Service were injured as a result of a second hit in Osnovianskyi district. The blast wave from the same hit broke the windows of an 18-year-old boy’s house and he sustained shrapnel wounds to his head and contusion.

Volodymyr Tymoshko, Head of the regional police, added that in total, three hits by Shahed drones were recorded at midnight on 23 March: into the building of a children’s sanatorium, into the ground next to it and near a residential building. In addition to the sanatorium, three private houses and service vehicles were damaged.

Volodymyr Tymoshko, Head of Kharkiv police, reported that in total, four people were injured as a result of the Shahed attack in Kharkiv. In addition to the above, a 43-year-old employee of an enterprise in Podvirky, Derhachi community, was taken to hospital in moderate condition. He was injured as a result of rocket attacks between 4am and 5:30am on 22 March.

The press service of Kharkiv police stated that a 72-year-old resident of Vovchanski Khutory was killed as a result of russian shelling at around 10am on 23 March.

The press service of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office said that law enforcers found the wreckage of three drones.

The press service of the State Emergency Service informed that about 16,500 people used Kharkiv Invincibility Centres during the day.

About 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast suffered enemy artillery and mortar attacks yesterday: Kozacha Lopan, Vovchansk, Krasne, Neskuchne, Holubivka, Synkivka and others. Odradne, Kolodiazne, Petropavlivka, Kotliarivka were hit by airstrikes.

At 5:40pm, Kupiansk was shelled. A private house was damaged as a result of a UAV hit. There were no casualties.

At 2:50pm, the enemy shelled Kupiansk by MRLs, no casualties.

At 11:30am, Kolodiazne village, Kupiansk region, was shelled by KAB bombs.

At 10:10am, the enemy shelled Hlushkivka, Kupiansk region, by MRLs. As a result, a private house was damaged. There were no casualties.

At 8:20am, Kozacha Lopan village, Kharkiv region, was shelled by MRLs. 3 private houses were damaged. There were no casualties.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy launched 3 unsuccessful attacks near Synkivka, Tabaivka and Berestove yesterday.

Combined teams of bomb experts cleared 29.49 hectares of mines and destroyed 396 explosive ordnance.

As of today, 157 children have been evacuated from two communities: 37 from Vilkhuvatka and 120 from Velykyi Burluk.

According to the Kharkivoblenerho JSC, over 440,000 customers in Kharkiv and the oblast were connected to electricity yesterday. As of the morning, up to 275,000 customers in the city and oblast were disconnected. Power engineers continue to work 24/7 to eliminate the consequences of the shelling.

Donetsk oblast

The General Staff reported that the Ukrainian military repelled 60 russian attacks on the frontlines of Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts on 22 March. According to the evening report, towards Lyman, Novopavlivka and Orikhiv, the russian army attacked with the support of aviation. Towards Novopavlivka, the enemy tried to break through Ukrainian defences 27 times over a day and more than 20 times over the previous day.

Yurii Tretiak, Acting Head of Myrnohrad City Military Administration, reported about russian shelling at 2am, injuring one person and hospitalising him. The shelling caused damage to apartment buildings and private homes, shut down of a boiler house, damaged power grids and a gas pipeline. He added that the consequences of the destruction are still being established.

The Pomsta brigade informed that soldiers of the Phoenix unit destroyed a russian APC-82A towards Bakhmut, using FPV drones and munitions.

Yurii Fedorenko, Commander of the 92nd Separate Mechanised Air Assault Battalion, stated that towards Bakhmut, russian troops are launching strike and assault operations at Chasiv Yar, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, using lightly armoured and fully armoured vehicles. The russian army suffered losses among troops, equipment and weapons.

Roman Padun, Head of Kurakhove CMA, said that in the afternoon, the russian military shelled Kurakhivka village by artillery. Two men were injured as a result of the shelling. Anastasiia Miedviedieva, Spokeswoman of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office, confirmed that the men, aged 39 and 45, injured in the shelling were hospitalised with mine-blast traumas and shrapnel wounds.

Towards Pokrovsk, one person was killed and one injured in Ocheretyne. A two-storey building was damaged in Hostre of Kurakhove community. Also russians launched 4 rockets at Myrnohrad, injuring a man and damaging 11 apartment buildings, a private house, an administrative building and an infrastructure facility.

Towards Kramatorsk, Lyman community was under numerous attacks: a house was damaged in Lyman, 3 houses damaged in Torske, 1 house destroyed and 10 damaged in Terny, 5 houses destroyed and 1 damaged in Yampolivka. In Katerynivka of Illinivsk community, 3 objects were damaged.

Towards Bakhmut, an apartment building and a shop were damaged in Toretsk. In Chasiv Yar community, 5 private houses, 2 apartment buildings and an industrial building were damaged. A house was damaged in Siversk.

In total, russians attacked settlements in Donetsk oblast 16 times yesterday. 1164 people, including 158 children, were evacuated from the frontline.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that  yesterday russians killed 1 civilian in Ocheretyne. Two more people were injured in the oblast over the day.

He added that the forced evacuation of families with children continues, all children have been evacuated from the Pivnichne of Toretsk community, 8 children remain in Shcherbynivka and 6 in Toretsk.

58 residents of Donetsk oblast were evacuated to Rivne oblast, including 25 children and 6 people with disabilities. All the evacuees were provided with food, psychological assistance and a traveller’s package from the International Rescue Committee in Ukraine. This is the first evacuation to Rivne oblast.

Luhansk oblast

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that elderly residents of the de-occupied settlements in Luhansk oblast, who have not yet agreed to evacuate, receive their pensions on a regular basis. To do this, people are helped to get to the nearest frontline Ukrposhta office in Donetsk oblast and then taken home. Yesterday three more residents of Nevske received the payments. Bread was delivered to neighbouring Makiivka and Hrekivka. Residents of other liberated villages received the aid the day before. 

As for the situation on the contact line, russians shelled by artillery, mortars, grenade launchers, tanks and small arms yesterday.

Makiivka, Nevske and Bilohorivka were under russian forces’ attack.

The invaders attacked towards Bilohorivka with air support.

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, representatives of the Investigative Committee of the russian federation are talking to the staff of orphanages and their students in the so-called ‘lpr’, agitating teenagers to enrol in the relevant institutions. They promise further distribution to different regions of russia.

The russian federation is preparing amendments to the legislation that will allow forcible mobilisation of as many men as possible from the occupied territories. Specifically, it is assumed that all documents, which granted them deferral, will be cancelled. This law will apply exclusively to the occupied regions.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Troels Lund Poulsen Defense Minister of the Kingdom of Denmark, came to Kyiv on a visit. On March 22, he met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi. They discussed preparations for holding the Danish-Ukrainian conference of defense industries and prospects for joint production of weapons, cooperation within the artillery and aviation coalitions, training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 aircraft.

Ukrzaliznytsia created a veterans unit, which will use drones to monitor and protect the railway infrastructure of Kyiv oblast. This is a pilot unit as part of the paramilitary guard, which will begin work in a month and a half. Currently, training of 15 people – dispatchers and UAV operators – is ongoing.

Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that Kyiv will help the cities most affected by the russian attack on the night of March 22. Administrations of regional centres formulate a list of the necessary. First of all, the possibility of providing support to Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia is being discussed.

Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, announced that the RMA and the foundation of American philanthropist Dell Loy Hansen have started to develop the concept of creating a modern rehabilitation hospital for servicemen and civilians in Kyiv oblast. An international coalition of architects and engineers of medical buildings will be involved in the work.

Hansen’s Mission in Ukraine and external financial partners in cooperation with Kyiv RMA plans to rebuild 10 destroyed schools in Kyiv oblast. One of the schools will be built in the village of Tarasivka by 1 September, 2025.

The Ukrainian Women’s Guard held a lecture on the topic “Education on the prevention of risks from explosive objects” for 5-9 graders of Myrcha gymnasium of Borodyanka community. The purpose of this lecture was to teach students to recognize objects that could be potentially explosive and teach them how to behave in such situations.

In Kyiv, the Eternal Glory to the Fallen Heroes memorial dedicated to the fallen servicemen of the 25th brigade of public order protection named after Prince Askold of the Northern Union of the National Guard of Ukraine was solemnly opened.

Zhytomyr oblast

In Zhytomyr oblast, 9 settlements will be renamed. This decision was adopted by the Parliamentary Committee on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning. In general, the Verkhovna Rada committee made a decision on renaming 5 cities and 104 villages and towns in Ukraine.

As part of the Book for a Defender charity event, the War Veterans Hospital received books by Ukrainian and foreign authors from Zhytomyr RMA. This is the second bunch of books collected by representatives of the regional military administration.

Sumy oblast

Sumy RMA reported that at night and in the morning, the russians carried out 5 shelling attacks on the border areas of the oblast. There were 35 strikes by MLRSs (7 strikes), artillery fire (25 strikes) and air strikes by guided bombs (3 strikes). The communities of Velyka Pysarivka, Vorozhba and Khotyn came under shelling.

There were 60 shelling attacks of Sumy oblast and 280 strikes from various types of weapons, including airstrikes by unguided missiles (22 explosions) and guided bombs (2 strikes).  Mykolayivka, Khotyn, Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Nova Sloboda, Shalyhine, Svesa, and Seredina-Buda were shelled.

As a result of shelling by the russian federation on 22 March, 1 resident was injured in Bilopillia community. As reported by the regional police, enemy strikes also damaged 12 private residential buildings, one of which was a multi-apartment one. 3 cars, 3 shops, and civil infrastructure was destroyed.

 Oleksandr Pavliuk, Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said that despite the increase in artillery and airstrikes in Sumy oblast, russia is not creating offensive groups in this direction. For the past two weeks, the russian army has been dropping guided aerial bombs, missiles, kamikaze drones, and Shahed drones on the communities of the oblast, hitting civilian infrastructure and homes of civilians. The shelling from artillery, mortars and small arms does not cease. Evacuation of border community residents, which are under constant fire from the territory of the russian federation, continues.

The Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine reported that due to the security situation, children are being forcibly evacuated from three settlements in Shostka region. Children, together with their parents or other legal representatives, will be evacuated to places of safety. In total, it is planned to evacuate 54 children to various regions that have expressed their readiness to receive them.

Chernihiv oblast

The SBGS reported that during the past day, russian troops carried out 12 attacks on the border of Chernihiv oblast, the communities of Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Snovsk and Horodnyanka were under enemy shelling. There were 55 strikes from mortars, barrel artillery and FPV drones. In Semenivka community, one of the enemy drones hit a minibus with civilians – three people were injured.

Vyacheslav Chaus, Head of Chernihiv RMA, announces that since the beginning of 2024, the enemy has launched more than 3,000 strikes in Chernihiv oblast, killing two people and injuring four others. According to him, the situation in the oblast remains difficult, and shelling has escalated. Communities and settlements of Novhorod-Siverskyi region, partially Koriukivka and Chernihiv regions are mostly affected by shelling.

Three vocational and technical education institutions of Chernihiv oblast were included in the list of the first 72 vocational schools of Ukraine, where they will teach professions required for reconstruction of the country. Educational and practical centres will be created on the basis of Chernihiv Higher Vocational School, Nizhyn Vocational Agrarian Lyceum, and Chernihiv Vocational Construction Lyceum.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that the enemy had been attacking Nikopol region all day long. 

The russians shelled 2 with artillery and launched 3 kamikaze drones, shelling Nikopol and Chervonohryhorivka communities. 2 multi-storey buildings, a college, an infrastructure facility, a private house, 4 outbuildings were damaged, 3 more completely destroyed, a greenhouse and power lines also hit.

There were wounded in Kryvyi Rih region as a result of an enemy attack. The occupiers launched an UAV at a gas station. A 34-years-old woman was injured. Nikopol region was hit. There were 13 attacks during the day, including a dozen kamikaze drones and artillery shelling. Nikopol, Marhanets, Pokrovsk and Myrove communities were hit. A gymnasium, a hairdresser’s salon, an optician, a pharmacy, a five-story residential building, a business, 2 houses, 3 outbuildings and a power line were damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

Junior sergeant Oleksii Bilash from Khmilnyk was honoured with 3 awards. He was presented with the Golden Cross badge and awards from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

In Vinnytsia, a peaceful rally was held on Peremohy Square in support of the military held in russian captivity. It was organized by the war prisoners’ and missing defenders’ families.

Kirovohrad oblast

Soldiers of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade organized an information tour around Ukraine. In Kropyvnytskyi, they talked to those who wanted to join the unit. 35% of them are women.

Poltava oblast

Filip Pronin, Head of the RMA, reported that at night the defense destroyed 6 enemy UAVs in Poltava oblast.

Cherkasy oblast

Zolotonosha community sent 7 Mavic 3T quadcopters to the military.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, in Zaporizhzhia, the aftermath of the russian massive rocket attack on 22 March continues to be extinguished. In the private sector where an 8-year-old girl and her 35-year-old father were killed, fragments of their bodies were retrieved from the rubble and identified through DNA testing. The number of injured has risen to 29 people, including 2 children. 

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, reported that on 22 March, the russian military launched 299 strikes on cities and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The attacks targeted Zaporizhzhia, Zaporizhzhia district, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Novoandriivka, Omelnyk, Verbove and Chervonodniprovka.

Based on the information provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, towards Orikhiv, the russian military attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 10 times near Staramaiorske, south of Novodarivka in Donetsk oblast, and near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Mykolaiv oblast

According to Mykolaiv RMA, on 22 March, russian forces launched 4 attacks on Mykolaiv oblast. There was artillery shelling at 9:31am and 2:41pm in the water area of Ochakiv community and at 3:25pm in Ochakiv city. There were no casualties or injuries reported. Also, air defense forces destroyed 1 enemy combat drone over the region.

On 22 March, in the central city library named after M.L. Kropyvnytskyi, a presentation of the new book by the famous poetess Halyna Zaporozhchenko – Nation of the Brave – was held. This book is a collection of patriotic poems. As the author mentioned, the book is a tribute to Ukrainian history and modernity.

Odesa oblast

According to the Defense Forces of South Ukraine, on 23 March, the russian military launched a ballistic missile strike on Odesa oblast from the temporarily occupied Crimea, possibly by Iskander-M system. The missile hit an open area in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi region. There were no damages or injuries reported. Also, 2 Zala reconnaissance drones were destroyed over the Black Sea.

Kherson oblast

The russian military attacked Beryslav by a drone. 2 people were injured, and they received medical assistance.

The russian military dropped an explosive device from a drone onto the Invincibility Centres in one of the villages of Novooleksandrivka community in Kherson oblast. 3 people were injured.

According to the Defense Forces of South Ukraine, at night, air defense units shot down 3 russian Shahed-131/136 UAVs in Kherson oblast.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine said that at night the russian military shelled Bilozirka community’s villages. As a result, a house caught on fire. Despite repeated russian attacks, rescuers managed to extinguish the fire.

Also, russian forces shelled Novovorontsovka in Kherson oblast. A 60-year-old resident was injured.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, informed that on 22 March, russian forces shelled 20 settlements. A high-rise building, 14 private houses, agricultural machinery, and cars were damaged. 1 person was killed, and 3 injured.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

A former soldier and the wife of a defender from Volyn sews stylized dolls for defenders. For the families of the dead and missing, the craftswoman makes dolls for free. In this way, she supports the families of defenders.

Zakarpattia oblast

In Uzhhorod, students of the music school collected more than UAH 17,000 at a charity concert for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The concert was also attended by military personnel who have been repeatedly helped by the music school and who are currently undergoing rehabilitation in medical institutions of Uzhhorod.

In the village of Poroshkovo in Zakarpattia, a community centre was opened for the integration of IDPs and local residents.

The RMA reports that in Zaporizhzhia, specialists from Zakarpattia continue to build fortifications. Work at all 13 sites continues around the clock.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Svitlana Onyshchuk, Head of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Military Administration, says that among the nine children who were returned from russia to Ukraine, there is a boy from Ivano-Frankivsk oblast. 

The Security Service of Ukraine has launched criminal proceedings over the russian attack on an infrastructure facility in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast on 22 March, 2024. According to the pre-trial investigation, the russian military attacked civilian energy generating infrastructure with cruise missiles and Shahed drones.

Lviv oblast

Martyn Kravtsiv, grandmaster from Lviv, won the international charity chess tournament in memory of the Heroes of the russian-Ukrainian War Memorial of Chess Warriors. He donated his fee for the victory in the amount of UAH 20,000 to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In Lviv oblast, the National Guard conducted tactical medicine training in accordance with NATO standards. The instructors theoretically and practically made the participants aware of the rules of medical care on the battlefield.

Rivne oblast

In Volodymyrets, Rivne oblast, local volunteers launched a fair of handicrafts on Facebook. Everyone who knows how to do something beautiful and useful is invited to join the fair. Half of the amount from the sale of each work will be used to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the volunteer centre.

In the Rivne region, veterans can train free of charge in private gyms. This was reported by the Rivne Regional Military Administration. Also, the owners of establishments send their employees to special training, travel with veteran athletes to competitions

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil Regional Military Administration states that in Ternopil oblast, the government project Army of Recovery is being implemented. The project was introduced to attract people who have temporarily lost their jobs to perform community service.  

Khmelnytskyi oblast

In Khmelnytskyi, entrepreneurs and scientists are designing adaptive clothing for wounded soldiers. It is being developed by Khmelnytskyi entrepreneur Dmytro Kovalchuk together with scientists from Khmelnytskyi National University.

Chernivtsi oblast

Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration reports that volunteers brought a Belgian shepherd dog from Canada to Chernivtsi. It specializes in the search for explosives and can act as a defender. From now on, the trained dog will help in the service of Bukovyna National Guardsmen.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

Artem Lysohor, Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, said that Luhansk oblast has agreements with Belgium, France, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and Denmark, which have expressed their readiness to help in restoring the region after its liberation. Business relations with international companies have been established after taking part in the International Exhibition and Conference ReBuild Ukraine Powered by Energy in Warsaw. International institutions, including USAID, UNDP, and others, have already provided almost UAH 49m in assistance to Luhansk oblast.

Britain will provide a new aid package to Ukraine worth more than $75m. It will include drones and air defense systems.

Bloomberg reported that russian oil is finally feeling the pressure of sanctions. Dozens of russian tankers have been idle since October 2023, when the United States tightened sanctions against the “shadow fleet”. Also, russian tankers have stopped being accepted by all Indian oil refiners.
