It has been the 1529  th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 4 pm:   

On 1 May, the aggressor attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 55 times.

As a result of cynical shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation, border settlements were affected, including: Bachivsk, Budky, Atynske, Chernatske, Prohres, and Ryzhivka in Sumy oblast; Khrinivka in Chernihiv oblast. Khutir-Mykhailivskyi and Velyka Berizka in Sumy oblast came under airstrikes.

Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk, the Defense Forces repelled one enemy assault. The enemy carried out 43 strikes on settlements and positions of Ukrainian troops, one of which involved multiple launch rocket systems, and launched two airstrikes using five guided bombs.

Towards Southern Sloboda, the enemy seven times stormed the positions of our units in the vicinity of Starytsia, Izbytske, Krasne Pershe, and Fyholivka. One engagement is still ongoing.

Towards Kupiansk, an enemy attempt to advance in the vicinity of Petropavlivka is ongoing.

Towards Lyman, Ukrainian soldiers repelled five attempts by the invaders to advance in the vicinity of Lyman, Drobysheve, and Stavky. Two engagements are still ongoing.

Towards Sloviansk, the enemy conducted two assault operations in the vicinity of Kryva Luka and Rai-Oleksandrivka. One battle is still ongoing.

Towards Kramatorsk, the enemy did not conduct any active operations.

Towards Kostiantynivka, the invaders carried out four attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, and Ivanopillia.

Towards Pokrovsk, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have tried 21 times to push Ukrainian soldiers from their positions in the vicinity of Sofiivka, Vilne, Dorozhnie, Nove Shakhome, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Novooleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Muravka, Molodetske, and Novopavlivka. Two engagements are still ongoing.

Towards Oleksandrivka, the enemy launched four offensives in the vicinity of Oleksandrohrad and Yehorivka. In addition, the occupiers launched an airstrike on the vicinity of Pysantsi.

Towards Huliaypole, the Defense Forces successfully repelled seven enemy attacks in the vicinity of Varvarivka, Zaliznychne, Charivne, and Dobropillia. The enemy launched airstrikes in the vicinity of Vozdvyzhivska, Verkhnia Tersa, Lisne, Kopani, Rivne, and Liubytske. One engagement is still ongoing.

Towards Orikhiv, the enemy launched airstrikes in the vicinity of Mykilske, Vasylivka, Omelnyk, Orikhiv, Odarivka, Zarichne, Shchaslyve, and Komyshuvakha.

Towards Kherson, the enemy conducted one assault operation in the direction of the Antonivskyi Bridge.

In other areas, there have been no significant changes in the situation. No enemy attempts to advance have been recorded.

Ukrainian troops are exhausting the enemy along the entire line of contact and in the rear.

 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Since the start of the day, russian troops seven times stormed the positions of the Defense Forces towards Southern Sloboda in the vicinity of Starytsia, Izbytske, Krasne Pershe, and Fyholivka. As of 16:00, one engagement was ongoing. Towards Kupiansk, the occupiers attempted to advance in the vicinity of Petropavlivka.

There were 138 combat engagements in the oblast. Towards Southern Sloboda, russian troops attacked seven times near Lyman, Starytsia, Vovchansk, and Okhrimivka. Towards Kupiansk, the enemy conducted five assaults in the vicinity of Kurylivka, Kindrashivka, and Novoplatonivka.

Ukrainian servicemen of the Lava regiment of the 2nd National Guard of Ukraine Detachment Khartia destroyed ten russian soldiers who had fortified themselves in a house in Kupiansk. The operation was conducted remotely—using robotic systems and drones, without involving fighters directly on the battlefield.

On the morning of 1 May, russian drones attacked three gas stations in different districts of Kharkiv. In Kyivskyi district, strikes on a gas station and a service station were recorded, with eight cars damaged. In Saltivskyi district, a drone hit the territory of two gas stations; a 36-year-old man sustained shrapnel wounds. In Slobidskyi district, a fire broke out following a strike on a gas station, and a 55-year-old man suffered an acute stress reaction.

During the day, russian troops also attacked Kholodnohirskyi, Kyivskyi, Saltivskyi, and Nemyshlianskyi districts of Kharkiv. In Kholodnohirskyi district, an administrative building was damaged. In Kyivskyi district, five cars and a gas station were damaged. One person sought medical assistance.

In Chuhuiv, a drone strike damaged a gas station and a car wash, causing a fire that destroyed two cars.

In Liutivka of Zolochiv community, drones destroyed a private house this morning; three other houses and outbuildings were damaged. A fire broke out in the village.

Kharkiv and 19 settlements in the oblast were targeted by russian strikes. Five people were injured, including a child. In Kharkiv, a 36-year-old man was wounded; in Dehtiari, Bohodukhiv community, two men aged 46 and 72 were injured; in Taranivka of the Zmiiv community, a 19-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy were hurt. Separately, in Kharkiv, a 64-year-old man was injured by the explosion of an unidentified device.

In Kharkiv oblast, Russian troops used one guided aerial bomb, six Geran-2 UAVs, 25 Molniia UAVs, four FPV drones, and 26 drones of an unidentified type.

In Kharkiv, a gas station canopy and five cars were damaged. In Bohodukhiv region, residential buildings, municipal enterprises, an administrative building, an educational institution, a shop, power grids, railway infrastructure, machinery, and outbuildings were damaged. In Kupiansk region, residential houses, outbuildings, and power grids were damaged. In Izium region—five private houses and outbuildings. In Chuhuiv region, a warehouse, a residential house, a garage, a car, and power grids were damaged.

The transit evacuation point in Lozova received 227 people over the day. Since it began operating, 31,421 people have been registered there.

In April, the deaths of 67 servicemen from Kharkiv oblast became known—the losses were officially reported by communities and educational institutions.

In Bohodukhiv community, the evacuation zone was expanded from three to eight settlements within a ten-kilometer zone from the border due to shelling. As of 1 May, up to 1% of the residents have left the community.

In Kharkiv, more than 1,600 people registered as internally displaced persons during the month. In total, approximately 215,000 IDPs currently reside in the city.

Donetsk oblast

In Donetsk oblast, the Defense Forces repelled 26 assaults towards Pokrovsk and another 16 towards Kostiantynivka. On the Pokrovsk front, battles continued in the vicinity of Bilytske, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, Muravka, Kotlyne, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Udachne, and Molodetske.

russian troops are attempting to consolidate their positions near Hryshyne and are accumulating forces towards Pokrovsk. Ukrainian units are holding the northern outskirts of the city, striking equipment in the rear, and disrupting enemy logistics.

Towards Lyman, the russian command has concentrated significant forces, including units of the 20th, 25th, and 1st Tank Armies. Ukrainian servicemen note that the situation in this sector remains under control, with drones playing a key role in deterring attacks.

The Defense Forces launched a strike on a concentration of Russian troops in the central part of Hryshyne. According to preliminary data, at least 15 occupiers were liquidated, including servicemen of the russian 76th Airborne Assault Division. Additionally, Ukrainian forces struck a Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile system near Olkhovatka in the occupied part of Donetsk oblast, as well as ammunition depots near Rozdolne in Donetsk oblast and Rovenky in Luhansk oblast.

On 30 April, there were 1,288 russian strikes along the front line and the residential sector of Donetsk oblast. Dobropillia, Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Shabelkivka, Yasnohirka, Kindrativka, and Maidan were under fire. 26 civilian objects were damaged, including 19 residential buildings. No information regarding dead or wounded was received for the previous day.

In Dobropillia, an apartment building was damaged. In Kramatorsk, russian troops attacked with six drones, damaging two apartment buildings, one private house, a gas station, and two civilian cars. In Sloviansk, an FPV drone damaged a civilian car. In Shabelkivka, a Geran-2 UAV strike damaged nine private houses; in Yasnohirka, six were damaged.

On the morning of 1 May and the previous evening, russian FPV drones attacked Sloviansk. One drone damaged a car in the private sector, while another hit a municipal enterprise. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.

On 1 May, a russian FPV drone attacked Druzhkivka. As a result of the strike, a local resident sustained a mine-blast injury and wounds.

In Sloviansk, 16 children were born during April—seven boys and nine girls. Since the beginning of the year, 90 children have been born in the city.

Luhansk oblast

In Luhansk oblast, russian troops attacked six times towards Lyman in the vicinity of four settlements. The occupiers used tube artillery 10 times, mortars seven times, and grenade launchers twice, while directing drones at Ukrainian positions on 15 other occasions.

In other regions of Ukraine, 206,743 displaced persons from Luhansk oblast are registered. As of January 2026, 17,051 objects in the oblast have been damaged or destroyed, 14,521 of which are residential buildings.

In temporarily occupied Luhansk oblast, more than half of the physician positions remain vacant. The staff shortage in the medical field stands at 54.5%—approximately five thousand unfilled vacancies. Furthermore, 15% of the doctors who continue to work are of retirement age. There is a critical lack of young specialists in the region.

In the occupied part of Luhansk oblast, people with disabilities are prohibited from using designated parking spaces without russian-style documents. The occupation authorities do not recognize Ukrainian documents or certificates issued before 1 March 2023.

In 2025, Luhansk oblast functioned under conditions of almost total occupation, the loss of a significant part of its economic and infrastructural base, and limited access to statistics. The main efforts of the regional authorities were focused on supporting displaced persons, the operation of relocated enterprises, maintaining regional governance, and preparing for recovery.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

The Darnytsia CHPP is being restored as part of Kyiv’s energy resilience plan, in close and constructive coordination with the city authorities. Euro-Reconstruction is carrying out the restoration work on the Darnytsia CHPP at its own expense, without drawing on the city budget. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, the city is continuing to implement measures under the energy resilience plan across all key areas – restoration, distributed cogeneration, increasing backup power supplies, and so on.

A ‘Community Training’ session for residents of Kyiv oblast took place at the Kyiv Regional Centre for Preparing the Population for National Resistance. The one-day course brought together around 150 participants from seven districts and 69 communities across the oblast. These included representatives of local authorities, teachers of the subject ‘Defence of Ukraine’, as well as anyone seeking to enhance their own preparedness and gain practical skills.

The third phase of a supported-living care home for elderly internally displaced persons has opened in Vorzel. It will provide comfortable living conditions for elderly people who were forced to leave their homes due to military aggression. The care home has been fitted out to meet the needs of older people: a barrier-free environment, round-the-clock medical and social support, access to essential services, psychological support and opportunities for meaningful leisure activities.

A photo exhibition entitled ‘The Courage of Words’ has opened in Kyiv, showcasing the resilience of Ukrainian journalists during the full-scale war. The exhibition is dedicated to media professionals who continue to work amidst a full-scale invasion: documenting russia’s crimes, countering disinformation and safeguarding the public’s right to know the truth. The photo exhibition will run up to and including 3 May at Kontraktova Square.

Zhytomyr oblast

Vitaliy Bunechko, head of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, reported that russian forces had attacked Zhytomyr oblast with drones – the centre of Zhytomyr and oblast’s residential areas were hit by enemy strikes. Non-residential buildings, as well as sports and educational facilities, were damaged. Fires broke out at the sites of the strikes, which were quickly extinguished by rescue workers. Restoration work is ongoing.

A further 13 displaced persons from the temporarily occupied territories will receive vouchers worth 2 million hryvnias to purchase housing in the Zhytomyr community. Since 1 December 2025, the Zhytomyr City Council has received 299 applications from combatants or people with war-related disabilities among IDPs from the temporarily occupied territories for vouchers. The issuance of vouchers has been approved for a total of 274 applicants.

Sumy oblast

Kursk Group of Forces denied russian claims about the alleged capture of Korchakivka village in Yunakivka community, Sumy oblast, and the “defeat” of Ukrainian units. There has been no enemy advance in this area. Six russian servicemen again attempted to use a gas pipe to approach positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Sumy oblast. However, Ukrainian defenders thwarted the attempt. The enemy group was neutralised, the statement said.

The City Military Administration said that on the night of 1 May, a drone struck an administrative building and one of the shopping centres in Sumy. Windows were blown out in the buildings. No casualties were reported. In Shevchenkove of Stetskivka starosta district, a drone strike on the roof of a private house caused a fire, which was extinguished.

The State Emergency Service reported that due to russian attacks in Shostka region on the night of 1 May, fires broke out. Strikes were recorded in Shostka, Berezivka and Yampil communities. Private households, country houses, outbuildings and civilian vehicles were damaged and caught fire. Due to the threat of repeated attacks, State Emergency Service specialists temporarily suspended their work and moved to a safe location.

On the morning of 1 May the Regional Military Administration informed that over the past day, 30 April, 11 people were injured in enemy attacks in Sumy oblast.

In Seredyna-Buda community, an enemy drone attack on a bus injured the driver and one female passenger. Three more men were injured in a russian strike on a motorcycle. A 54-year-old woman and two men aged 36 and 47 were injured in a mortar attack in the community.

In Velyka Pysarivka community, a 61-year-old man was wounded after an enemy drone hit a civilian car.

In Hlukhiv community, a 51-year-old man was injured in an enemy drone strike.

In Putyvl community, a 54-year-old man was injured in an enemy drone strike.

In Nova Slobidka community, a 68-year-old man was injured in an enemy UAV strike.

A 50-year-old woman sought medical assistance after being injured during a UAV attack in Konotop community on 28 April.

During the day, from the morning of 30 April to the morning of 1 May, russian forces carried out more than 110 attacks on 45 settlements in 20 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy, Konotop and Shostka regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Over the past day, air raid alerts in the oblast lasted 17 hours and 10 minutes.

Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed:

  • In Shostka community, residential buildings, non-residential premises and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
  • In Seredyna-Buda community, a private residential house was destroyed, a private residential house and a bus were damaged, and a motorcycle was destroyed;
  • In Svesa community, private residential houses were damaged;
  • In Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community, a car was damaged;
  • In Yampil community, private residential houses, apartment buildings and an administrative building were damaged;
  • In Velyka Pysarivka community, a private passenger car was damaged;
  • In Hlukhiv community, a private passenger car was damaged;
  • In Sumy community, a private residential house, an administrative building, premises of a shopping centre and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged;
  • In Nova Slobidka community, a private residential house and private passenger cars were damaged;
  • In Berezivka community, a private residential house was damaged.

Over the past day, local authorities, together with units of the State Emergency Service, the National Police and non-governmental organisations, evacuated 10 people from border communities.

According to Romny Regional State Administration, on 30 April, Vilshanka community paid tribute to Alina Hruzina, a 19-year-old servicewoman and resident of Vilshana village. She was an unmanned aerial vehicle operator with an unmanned aviation systems crew. Alina was killed on 22 April 2026 while carrying out a combat mission in the vicinity of Sloviansk, Donetsk oblast.

The Regional Military Administration reported that in Sumy oblast, nearly 69,000 children have been granted the status of a child affected by hostilities and armed conflicts. Of these, 1,923 statuses were granted during the first quarter of 2026. Obtaining the status of a child affected by hostilities and armed conflicts is an important step in ensuring social protection and support for children in Ukraine.

Chernihiv oblast

Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Regional Military Administration, said that in Chernihiv oblast, air defence units neutralised 28 russian attack drones during the day on 30 April. Defence Forces shot down 12 drones, while another 16 were suppressed by electronic warfare systems.

Head of the Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration reported that on 30 April, russian forces attacked Semenivka town. At least five FPV drone strikes were recorded. The strikes damaged the roof of Semenivka City Hospital building.

Chernihiv Border Detachment informed that during the day on 30 April, russian troops attacked four border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia and Snovsk. The enemy carried out mortar attacks with 4 explosions, barrel artillery attacks with 11 explosions, Molniya-type UAV strikes with 1 explosion, FPV drone strikes with 31 explosions, and dropped explosive devices from UAVs with 5 explosions. Eleven settlements came under enemy fire.

Explosive ordnance specialists of Chernihiv oblast Police neutralised the warhead of a russian attack drone shot down by the Defence Forces of Ukraine in Chernihiv region. The drone was found in open terrain near one of the settlements.

According to the State Environmental Inspectorate in Chernihiv Oblast, as a result of russian drones hitting the building of Avdiivka Lyceum in Ponornytsia community on the night of 18 March, environmental damage amounted to more than UAH 19m. The destruction of the educational facility caused contamination of the land plot and the adjacent area with structural debris and construction waste.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that the occupiers attacked Nikopol, Marhanets, Pokrovske rural and Chervonohryhorivka communities by drones.

A fire broke out. Two private houses, a driving school, two buses, infrastructure and a petrol station were damaged. One person was injured in a UAV attack in Kryvyi Rih. Infrastructure was damaged. The enemy struck Petropavlivka and Dubovyky communities by UAVs. Fires broke out. Six private houses, a garage and a car were damaged.

Four people were injured in FPV drone strikes in Marhanets: women aged 50, 54 and 43, and a 50-year-old man. Emergency workers also rescued an elderly woman from a damaged building in Nikopol. In total, the enemy attacked the regional centre, Marhanets, Myrove, Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovske rural communities by drones and artillery. A fire broke out. Three apartment buildings and 10 private houses, a medical facility, three shops, an outbuilding, five cars and infrastructure were damaged. An outbuilding was damaged in a UAV attack in Zelenodolsk community.

Vinnytsia oblast

As a result of another russian attack on 1 May, a municipal facility was destroyed in Trostianets community, Vinnytsia oblast.

Buildings also sustained minor damage.

Cherkasy oblast

During the latest air raid alerts, air defence forces and systems neutralised 19 russian UAVs.

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration said that in Zolotonosha region, debris and the blast wave damaged a kindergarten and a school, as well as seven private houses and a power line.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Today, 1 May, russian forces attacked the territory of an agricultural enterprise in Zaporizhzhia region with guided aerial bombs. According to the head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, Ivan Fedorov, a farm worker was injured. Agricultural machinery was also damaged.

Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that yesterday, 30 April, the occupiers carried out 864 strikes on 44 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. russian forces conducted 20 airstrikes on Malokaterynivka, Komyshuvakha, Novooleksandrivka, Tavriiske, Liubytske, Rizdviana, Hirske, Dolynka, Shyroke, Omelnyk, Kopani, Rivne, Vozdvyzhivka, Tsvitkove, and Charivne. 650 UAVs of various modifications (mostly FPV) attacked Novomykolaivka, Mariivka, Chervonodniprovka, Lysohirka, Novoiakovlivka, Novooleksandrivka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Vozdvyzhivka, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Tsvitkove, Varvarivka, Olenokostiantynivka, Pryluky, Dobropillia, and Nove Zaporizhzhia. Five MLRS attacks targeted Kushuhum, Novopavlivka, Novoselivka, Dolynka, and Ternuvate. 189 artillery strikes hit Chervonodniprovka, Novoiakovlivka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepove, Pavlivka, Lukianivske, Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Charivne, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Varvarivka, Olenokostiantynivka, and Dobropillia. There were 45 reports of damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure. One person was injured as a result of enemy attacks in Zaporizhzhia region.

The General Staff reported that as of 16:00 on 1 May, the Defense Forces successfully repelled seven enemy attacks in the areas of Varvarivka, Zaliznychne, Charivne, and Dobropillia towards  Huliaipole. One engagement is ongoing. Over the past day, 30 April, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 21 russian attacks towards Huliaipole and Orikhiv.

Yesterday, 30 April, the Defense Forces struck a warehouse of material and technical supplies and a UAV control site of russian forces in Zaporizhzhia oblast. As noted by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian Defense Forces hit a logistics warehouse on the outskirts of Melitopol and a UAV control site near Huliaipole.

The press service of the Chief Directorate of the National Police in Zaporizhzhia oblast reported that five people were evacuated from the frontline settlements of Yurkivka and Tavriiske in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Among those rescued were mostly elderly people who were unable to leave the dangerous areas on their own. One of them has limited mobility.

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that yesterday, 30 April, the enemy attacked the region with Shahed-type UAVs. Three people were injured in Mykolaiv. Energy and critical infrastructure were targeted. Energy workers are currently working around the clock to restore services. Three multi-storey buildings, two private houses, and seven vehicles were damaged. Several fires broke out.

Yesterday, the enemy also carried out six FPV drone attacks on Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities. As a result, the roof of a private house in the village of Dmytrivka was damaged. There were no casualties.

Odesa oblast

Odesa Regional Military Administration reported that on 1 May the enemy attacked Odesa region with strike UAVs. As a result of the attack, the roof of a shopping center was damaged. A fire broke out, but was extinguished.

During the night, russia once again launched a massive attack on civilian infrastructure in Odesa oblast. According to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as of the morning of 1 May, five people got injured. Two multi-storey residential buildings were damaged, fires broke out, and the regional port infrastructure was damaged.

Kherson oblast

Kherson Regional Military Administration reported that on 1 May, at around 07:00, russian forces shelled Korabelnyi district of Kherson. A 64-year-old woman who was at home came under attack. She sustained facial burns, a concussion, blast injuries, and a closed traumatic brain injury.

Kherson Regional Military Administration also reported that today, at approximately 09:40, russian forces attacked Dniprovskyi district of Kherson with a drone. As a result of the strike, a 38-year-old man suffered blast injuries and a traumatic amputation of his leg. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Early in the morning, russian forces struck a residential building in Korabelnyi district of Kherson. The impact caused a fire in the home, leading to significant destruction. One person was injured.

At 02:20 today, russian forces carried out a UAV strike of the “Molniya” type on Tsentralny district of Kherson. One person sustained blast injuries and a concussion.

According to Kherson RMA, six residents of the region sought medical assistance today after being injured in russian attacks. Four residents of Komyshany were injured in yesterday’s drone attack. A nurse from a Kherson hospital was injured yesterday afternoon as a result of a drone strike on a medical facility. A resident of Komyshany, who had been injured during shelling on 23 April, also sought medical assistance.

The Police of Kherson oblast reported that yesterday, 30 April, trhe russian forces attacked Kherson, Antonivka, Novodmytrivka, Zelenivka, Kizomys, Sofiivka, Poniativka, Stanislav, Tokarivka, Sadove, Chornobaivka, Tomyna Balka, Komyshany, Bilozerka, Oleksandrivka, Prydniprovske, Mykilske, Tavriiske, Beryslav, Tiahynka, Velyka Oleksandrivka, Nova Kuban, Osokorivka, Tryfonivka, Kozatske, and Vesele. As a result of the attacks, 37 civilian objects were damaged, including eight multi-storey buildings, 15 private houses, a medical facility, an administrative building, a kindergarten, two enterprises, a post office, five vehicles, a workshop, and a bus. One person was killed, and eight were injured as a result of russian aggression.

The General Staff reported that as of 16:00 on 1 May, the enemy carried out one assault toward the Antonivskyi Bridge in Kherson.

Volyn oblast

During a massive drone attack on western Ukraine, an enemy UAV of the Shahed type was spotted in the oblast. Thanks to the Air Defense Forces, the enemy object was neutralized.

Zakarpattia oblast

Zakarpattia Shepherds Association once again received technical support from Tyrolean partners. This time, the partners donated specialized “electric shepherd” systems for grazing automation, 40 modern nets for pasture fences, and other professional equipment for caring for flocks.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA reported that as part of the regional project Caring for the Hero’s Family the relatives of the defenders visited the capital, where they attended the Shlyaher of the Year concert at the invitation of producer Angela Norboyeva.

Lviv oblast

Dmytro Petrenko, from Sheptytskyi region, was awarded the III degree For Courage Order. Dmytro Petrenko is a war veteran. Due to hostilities, he was forced to leave his native Sumy oblast and find a new home in Radekhiv region.

Rivne oblast

A residential building was damaged as a result of an enemy air attack on Rivne oblast. This happened in the regional center. 10 residential buildings were damaged. The roof caught fire on an area of 100 sqm. After assessing the consequences of the strike, funds will be allocated from the regional and local reserve funds for repairs. In addition, 3 cars and civilian infrastructure were damaged. There are 5 injured. 4 of them are in the hospital.

Ternopil oblast

There were over 50 Shaheeds over Ternopil. About 20 of them exploded. Industrial facilities and infrastructure were damaged. Emergency crews restored damaged power lines. Water supply and sewage are functioning normally. 11 injured people are known. Among them are people in serious condition. All victims are receiving medical care. There is no information about the dead. Some neighborhoods remain without electricity. Repair crews are already working on restoration.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Khmelnytskyi City Council reported that since the beginning of the year, the community has allocated more than UAH 674m for defense issues.

Chernivtsi oblast

Chernivtsi community conducted the final earthly journey of Oleksandr Prokopets, fallen Captain of the Military Unit A4993. The soldier was killed in November 2024 while performing a combat mission in Kursk region.

The entire jury of the Venice Biennale has resigned due to the return of the russian federation. The international jury of the 61st Venice Biennale has announced its collective resignation. The corresponding statement was published on 30 April. The opening of the exhibition is scheduled for 9 May.
