War in Ukraine today: latest news, September 23, 2023 (photo)

It has been the 577th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

There were 15 combat clashes over the day. The russian federation also launched another attack on Ukraine with Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones. As a result of combat operations, the Air Force in cooperation with the air defense of other components of the Defense Forces destroyed 14 out of 15 Shahed-type drones. The enemy launched 5 missile and 44 air strikes, fired 22 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains challenging.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the situation remained unchanged. There were no signs of offensive groups forming. Certain units of the belarusian armed forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas and continues shelling settlements from the territory of the russian federation. More than 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Turia, Bleshnia, Prohres, Yanzhulivka and Hremiak in Chernihiv oblast; Novovasylivka, Marchykhina Buda, Iskryskivshchyna, Zapsil, Poznya, Sumy oblast and Udy, Morokhovets, Neskuchne, Budarky, Topoly, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy launched air strikes near the towns of Synkivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka in Kharkiv oblast and Nadiya in Luhansk oblast. Artillery and mortar shelling hit more than 10 settlements, including Berestove, Masiutivka, Kucherivka, Ivanivka, and Kyslivka in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Lyman, the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled an enemy attack near Bilohorivka, Luhansk oblast. Air strikes hit the areas of Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast and Serebrianka, Spirne, and Vesele in Donetsk oblast. Artillery and mortar shelling affected more than 10 settlements, including Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast and Novosadove, Torske, Hryhorivka, Verkhnekamianske, Spirne in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, the enemy tried to regain its lost ground near Klishchiyivka in Donetsk oblast, but was unsuccessful. Instead, he launched an airstrike near the village. More than 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Klishchiyivka, Bila Hora and Niu York in Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are successfully holding the line. The enemy conducted an airstrike near Avdiivka, Donetsk oblast. Keramik, Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Tonenke, Pervomaiske in Donetsk oblast came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Marinka, our defenders successfully repelled nine enemy attacks in the areas of Marinka and Pobieda in Donetsk oblast over the last day. The enemy conducted an air strike near Maryinka, Donetsk oblast. More than 10 settlements were under the occupiers’ fire, including Nevelske, Oleksandropil, Krasnohorivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Katerynivka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy launched air strikes near the towns of Vuhledar, Urozhayne and Staromayorske in Donetsk oblast. About 10 settlements, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Blahodatne, and Urozhayne in Donetsk oblast, came under artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia, the Defense Forces continue their offensive, particularly in the area of Verbove in Zaporizhzhia oblast, pushing the enemy out of their positions and consolidating their positions. The enemy conducted an airstrike near Robotyno, Zaporizhzhia oblast. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Chervone, Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Shcherbaky, and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia oblast.

Towards Kherson, the enemy conducted airstrikes in the vicinity of Kozatske, Mykolaivka, and Olhivka in the Kherson oblast. About 10 settlements of Kherson region came under hostile artillery and mortar fire, including Novooleksandrivka, Dudchany, Zmiivka, Tokarivka, Veletenske, and Kizomys in Kherson oblast.

At the same time, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations towards Melitopol and offensive (assault) operations towards Bakhmut, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

Ukrainian aviation conducted 8 strikes on buildups of personnel, weapons and military equipment, and 4 strikes on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems. 

Rocket troops destroyed 1 buildup of personnel, weapons and military equipment, 1 anti-aircraft missile system, 5 artillery units and 1 enemy radar station.


Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, Commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops, says that the russian defense in Verbove, Zaporizhzhia oblast, was broken through. “Not as fast as expected, not like in movies about the Second World War. The main thing is not to lose this initiative,” he said. 

Yulia Svyrydenko, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy, reports that Ukraine’s economy has adapted to the force majeure conditions. Ukraine’s GDP grew by 0.8% compared to the first quarter of 2023.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported that yesterday the enemy shelled settlements of Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv and Kupiansk regions with artillery, mortars and other weapons.  Specifically, Kupiansk, Vovchansk, Ohirtseve, Pletenivka, Bolohivka, Lyman Pershyi, Synkivka, Petropavlivka and other settlements were under hostile attack.

As a result of the shelling of Kupiansk, residential buildings and outbuildings were destroyed and fires broke out.

In Huriv Kozachok village, Bohodukhiv region, the shelling damaged an infrastructure facility. In Oleksandrivka village, Bohodukhiv region, a garage was damaged and a fire started. Udy village, Bohodukhiv region, was attacked by a kamikaze drone.

During the day pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service examined more than 5.1 hectares of territory and defused 54 explosive ordnance.

This year, more than UAH 1 billion has been allocated from the Elimination of the Aftermath of Armed Aggression Fund to restore Kharkiv oblast. The funds are currently used to restore 62 infrastructure facilities in the region. The priority is residential and social buildings.

Volodymyr Svietlychnyi, Deputy General Director of the Mashhidropryvid enterprise, informed that russian missiles destroyed the enterprise on 21 September. This was the second strike on the enterprise, the first one was in June 2022. The June strike destroyed a production facility with workbenches. The 21 September strike destroyed a second building with an area of 3,000 square metres. Three hundred employees lost their jobs.

Volunteers from Kharkiv brought new windows for the residents of the de-occupied Studenok, Yaremivka and Dovhenke. The villagers are repairing their houses which were damaged by the hostilities and the five-month russian occupation.

Donetsk oblast

Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, reported that Ukrainian troops are conducting an offensive operation around Bakhmut to prevent russians from moving additional reserves to the south.

Illia Yevlash, Head of the press service of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that russian troops launched about 500 artillery strikes and three air raids yesterday towards Bakhmut. However, the invaders cannot stop the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ukrainian troops are successful near Bakhmut, particularly towards Odradivka village.

According to Donetsk Regional Military Administration, russians struck Novovasylivka of Pokrovsk community with four Shahed drone attacks at night, damaging a farm, but causing no casualties.

Towards Volnovakha, 1 person was injured in Zelenyi Hai of Komar community, 7 two-storey buildings, 1 private building, a house of culture and industrial buildings were damaged. Vuhledar suffered 2 air strikes and 21 artillery shelling. Novoukrainka was also under attack.

Towards Donetsk, Novomykhailivka and Krasnohorivka of Marinka community were under constant shelling. In the morning, Avdiivka suffered an air strike, artillery and tank attacks, destroying a private building and damaging a hospital and a cinema.

Towards Horlivka, 2 industrial facilities were damaged in Kleban-Byk of Illinivsk community. An industrial building, an infrastructure facility and an apartment building were damaged in Chasiv Yar community.

Towards Lysychansk, 1 person was killed and 2 buildings damaged in Serebrianka of Siversk community. A building in Torske and an outbuilding in Yampil of Lyman community were damaged.

Alao russian troops shelled a residential building in Avdiivka with tanks, causing a fire. There were no casualties. The residents of the building left. Russian troops attacked the town twice with tanks and used artillery and Grad systems.

Larysa Huseva, Deputy Director of the Department of Housing and Communal Services, stated that Donetsk oblast is 90% ready for the heating season. More than four thousand facilities are already prepared for the season. The launch of a centralised heating system is planned in 14 communities. This year, Selydove town joined them where boiler houses are planned to be installed by 1 December. Another 11 communities will have partial heating: social facilities, medical institutions and some buildings that can be connected. The Deputy Director of the Department of Housing and Communal Services said that 10 communities near the combat zone in the region will be without heating. Gas and electricity networks are destroyed there. People there are provided with stoves, pellets and coal heating. Huseva said that there are 207 Invincibility Centres in Donetsk oblast, which is a sufficient number according to the communities. All of these centres are equipped with generators, equipment and food supplies.

Luhansk oblast

Luhansk MRA reported that the russian army is not reducing its firepower along the entire contact line and is firing daily from artillery and aircraft. Nadiia, Makiivka, Nevske and Bilohorivka were hit from the sky. Civilians still remain in some villages. Most of all – in Nevske, where 10 explosions occurred on September 22, after shelling from various types of weapons. The russian occupiers know that civilians remain in the de-occupied villages of Luhansk oblast, but they continue to shell the communities. The people who remain spend almost all their time in basements.

In Kreminna, the invaders have identified the buildings they plan to demolish. So far, they have identified three high-rise buildings that they are not going to restore. Equipment for dismantling works has been delivered to Severodonetsk. In Svatove, people are trying to live close to home because the streets are filled with russian military equipment. The number of local residents is decreasing. As soon as someone leaves, the empty house is stolen by touring bands. 

There are 12 ASCs and 18 remote workplaces for administrators in the hubs of Luhansk oblast. The work of 12 ASCs in Luhansk oblast has already been resumed. In addition, services for the elderly are being provided in Dnipro and Dnipropetrovsk oblast through a portable Mobile Office complex that was provided to the Lysychansk community. Such Mobile Offices were also transferred to the Sievierodonetsk and Hirske ASCs.

National Resistance Center reported that the russian occupiers continue their policy of killing Ukrainians and have set up a new torture chamber in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk oblast. 

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

According to Kyiv RMA, work continues to eliminate the consequences of the russian shelling of the capital on September 21. 11 rescuers of the Kyiv Rescue Service and 2 vehicles were engaged in dismantling the emergency structures of a service station in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv. The building was hit by the fragments of an enemy missile. In Shevchenkivskyi district, dismantling of emergency elements of the administrative building and gym started.

Kyiv RMA reported that since the beginning of the year, the number of registered businesses in Kyiv Oblast has increased by 6K. There are 76 relocated businesses in the region. During the Regional Economic Forum, the importance of an ongoing dialogue between the Government, regional and local authorities and entrepreneurs was discussed. The region’s businesses are actively involved in government programmes: Affordable Loans 5-7-9, eRobota, and Own Business.  

The shelter of the Barvinok kindergarten in Kryukivshchyna community was renovated at the expense of the local budget. Now all the children and staff of the institution will be able to stay there freely, as its area has been doubled. The shelter has been equipped with everything necessary for the children to stay comfortably and have lessons with specialists. A diesel generator for backup lighting, a loudspeaker warning system and the Internet were installed.

The State Emergency Service of Kyiv oblast reported that on September 20-21, rescuers practised nine different emergencies that could occur in the region. This was done in real time with members of the Red Cross rapid response team, authorities and operational services of Vyshhorod region.

Yaakov Dov Bleich, Chief Rabbi of Kyiv and Ukraine, reported that a new Torah scroll was brought to the main synagogue in Kyiv’s Podil district in memory of the soldiers who died for Ukraine. The sacred text was written for almost a year on specially made parchment. Bleich added the final words, which are traditionally written during the ceremony of bringing in a new scroll, during the ceremony.

Zhytomyr oblast

Vitalii Bunechko, Head of Zhytomyr RMA, reported that the deadline for completing the engineering defence of critical infrastructure facilities has been reduced in Zhytomyr oblast. The region must be ready for the enemy to resume terrorist tactics against critical infrastructure.

The In Touch Ukraine Foundation reported that 11 families in Chudniv community received material and technical assistance from UNICEF. In total, as part of the pilot cash & care programme for Zhytomyr oblast, household and computer equipment was purchased for 500 families with children according to their individual needs.

Sumy oblast

It is reported that the russians fired 17 times at the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. There were 75 explosions in Yunakivka, Myropil, Krasnopilla, Khotyn, Bilopilla, Velyka Pysarivka, Svesa, Buryn, Putyvl, Znob-Novhorodske communities.

According to Sumy RMA, at night, the enemy shelled Shalyhyne community with a mortar – there were 5 hits.

The National Resistance Center of Ukraine reported that the enemy is once again trying to conduct sabotage on the border with Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts of Ukraine. A training company of the 2nd separate special forces brigade of the russian general staff of the russian armed forces arrived in the area of the russian city of hraivoron (bilhorod oblast). Their task is to conduct training of personnel in the border areas of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of the Sumy RMA, reported that 500 children have left the 5-km border zone of Sumy oblast. Velyka Pysarivka, Seredyna-Buda, Krasnopilla and Bilopilla communities remain the most dangerous. Distance learning has been organised for those children who remain in the border communities.

According to Sumy RMA, a unique rehabilitation centre for Ukraine’s defenders will be set up in Konotop region of Sumy oblast. The building is currently undergoing reconstruction.

Chernihiv oblast

According to the SBGSU, there were 8 shelling incidents and 69 explosions in the border of Chernihiv oblast. It is reported that russian troops struck at Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Horodnia communities. The enemy fired 4 times from cannon artillery towards Hremyach, 35 times from multiple rocket launchers towards Senkivka, and 30 times from mortars and cannon artillery towards Yanzhulivka, Bleshnia and Prohres. 

The Northern Border State Border Guard Service reported that regime restrictions continue to apply in the northern border regions to prohibit staying and working in close proximity to the state border. Local residents are asked to exercise maximum vigilance and be aware of mine danger.

School #21 in Chernihiv, destroyed by russians, will be rebuilt from scratch. The decision to grant urban planning conditions for the construction was approved by the executive committee of the city council. The destroyed structures are not yet being dismantled, they are waiting for permission from the Prosecutor’s Office and the Security Service of Ukraine. The future educational institution should be designed for 1,080 children and 40 classes.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipro Oblast Council, reported that the invaders attacked Dnipropetrovsk oblast with drones. The Air Force shot down 12 Shaheds. The attack damaged a critical infrastructure facility in Dnipro. Nikopol region was also targeted. Marhanets was shelled with drones and Chervonohryhorivka community with artillery. As a result of the shelling, the roof of a private building caught on fire. An outbuilding was destroyed. 10 residential buildings, 5 outbuildings, a gas pipeline and a power line were damaged. Dnipro region was also hit. In Novooleksandrivka community, dry grass was burning because of the attack. Two petrol stations and a traffic light were damaged.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​ More than seven thousand trench candles were made for Ukrainian defenders by lyceum students in Lypovets since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

Poltava oblast

Dmytro Lunin, Head of Poltava Regional Military Administration, reported that search operations in Kremenchuk were completed. As a result of the missile attack on Kremenchuk, 31 people, including three children, were injured. 16 people had to be hospitalised and are receiving medical assistance. One person was killed. The shelling also damaged surrounding buildings.

Dmytro Lunin added that Poltava oblast continues to help the de-occupied villages of Kherson oblast. Poltava specialists examined 100% of the damaged facilities in four settlements: Bruskynske, Tverdomedove, Bezvodne and Ishchenko. As a result, there were 138 reports of destruction.

Cherkasy oblast

More than fifty reports for damaged property were received from businesses after a missile attack on the downtown Cherkasy on  September 21. A mechanism to help these businesses is currently being developed.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

According to the State Emergency Service in Zaporizhzhia oblast, two people were killed as a result of russian shelling in  Polohy region.

On September 22, there were 86 attacks on 27 settlements. An 82-year-old resident of Orikhiv was killed by shelling. The attacks took place in Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Zaliznychne, Novodarivka, Levadne, Malynivka, Bilohiria, Stepnohirsk, Kamianske, Mali Shcherbaky, Pyatikhatky, as well as other towns and villages on the line of fire.

Rafael Grossi, IAEA Director General, reported that ten wells have been drilled at the ZNPP to provide water and cool the shutdown reactors. More than 200 cubic meters of water can now be supplied to the pools. 

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration said that the russian military continues to strike at the territory of Mykolaiv oblast. On September 22, at 16:02, russian troops fired on the waters of the Ochakiv community. There were no casualties. 

According to the updated data of the order of the Ministry of Reintegration, as of August 2023, more than 2000 territorial communities and settlements have been subjected to active hostilities or occupation. The amount of direct damage caused by the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant is already at least $2 billion. Of this, about $950 million relates to the housing stock – losses in the housing and utilities sector, energy, agriculture, transportation, environment, and industry.

In Mykolaiv, the Honcharenko Center Space is launching the Plus-Plus project to support women from military families. As part of the program, participants have the opportunity to receive legal and psychological aid, as well as take part in workshops and implement their own ideas. The main goal of the project is to form a community of women from military families, where program participants can receive professional help and support. This was reported by the press service of the Honcharenko Center.

Odesa oblast

Natalia Humeniuk, Head of the press center of the Southern Defense Forces, reported that on the night of September 23, Odesa oblast suffered a missile attack. The occupation forces used Onyx again. Two missiles hit the recreational area of Odesa oblast, but it is an open area. There was no critical damage or injuries. 

The Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine reported that the russian army has deployed two missile carriers to the Black Sea for combat duty: the Buyan-M small missile ship and the Admiral Makarov frigate. The total volley of the two surface missile carriers is up to 16 Kalibr missiles. The level of missile threat has increased significantly.

Odesa guardsmen discovered a Murom-M surveillance complex installed on a tower to increase its performance. With the help of a kamikaze drone, the enemy’s “eyes” were destroyed. The Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine note that this is the third Murom-M long-range visual surveillance system destroyed by soldiers of the 11th Hrushevsky Brigade of the Southern Operational and Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine in two months.

Kherson oblast

The occupiers dropped explosives from a drone on a 78-year-old local resident during the russian army’s attack on Mykolaivka. The man was seriously injured.

In the afternoon, the russian army began shelling Kherson. The attack from the temporarily occupied left bank caused fires and destroyed houses. Information on the consequences and casualties is being clarified.

Roman Mrochko, Head of  Kherson Military Administration, said that on the night of September 22, the russian military fired mortars and artillery at Kherson, Naddnipryanske and Inzhenerne. 

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported  that on September 22, the russian army fired 119 times at the territory of Kherson oblast. Medical and educational institutions, a grain elevator, critical infrastructure facilities and a penitentiary were damaged. One person was killed and three were injured. 

On September 22, russian aviation conducted five strikes on the territory of Beryslav region of Kherson oblast. It dropped 29 guided bombs with a capacity of 500 kg of TNT equivalent on the localities.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The RMA reported that Volyn received 6 new electrocardiographs and equipment for it thanks to the Swedish Aid Center CF.

Zakarpattia oblast

Oleksandru Viktor Mikula, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine, together with Volodymyr Chubirko, Head of Zakarpattia Regional Council, visited Zakarpattia Regional Hospital for War Veterans in Uzhhorod. The diplomat inspected the conditions of stay of the wounded, and talked with them in the wards.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA held a meeting with heads of structural subdivisions of the RMA, regional administrations and territorial communities. They discussed problems of functioning of places of temporary residence of IDPs.

In Ivano-Frankivsk, 16 defenders who are currently defending Ukraine, or who were disabled or injured before the anniversary of the full-scale invasion, will receive UAH 20K. The total amount of payments is UAH 320K. Also, 12 wounded soldiers will receive payments of UAH 10K for treatment in the amount of UAH 120K. 7 people from the families of fallen soldiers will receive payments in the total amount of UAH 650K. Assistance was also allocated to 32 defenders who are currently taking direct part in the hostilities, but do not have the status of a participant in the hostilities and do not use benefits for housing and communal services in the amount of UAH 3K. Fighters will receive UAH 96K.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the Alliance Occitanie Ukraine CF. Thanks to this organization, on November 1, two medics from one of the hospitals of Lviv oblast, who specialize in vascular surgery, will come to the Perpignan hospital for an internship.

A meeting of the initiative group of the Unity and Victory public forum took place in Lviv region. Its goal is to unite efforts of authorities, the public, and the intelligentsia for the implementation of a set of measures aimed at the consolidation of society in the matter of national identity.

Slavska village council purchased 5 Mavic D (with night vision) and 12 Mavic 3 fly more combo for the needs of the Armed Forces. In general, deputies allocated UAH 10 mln in the community budget for the purchase of drones.

Robert Montgomery, famous American transplantologist, who himself lives with a donor heart, will come to Lviv for the fifth time. On September 26, together with the transplant specialists of the First Medical Association of Lviv, he will once again transplant vital organs to Ukrainian patients.

From August 14, 2023, applications for the business voucher competition for veterans, their wives and husbands continued for a month. Based on the results of the rating evaluation, the competition commission decided to support 6 participants and provide them with funds from the city for business development.

Rivne oblast

Employees of Radyvyliv City Council donated their daily earnings to a quad bike for the fighters of the air defense unit working in Bakhmut direction. Their colleague, Mykola Yaroschuk, chief architect of the city council, serves there. Lyceum students  wove 12 meters of camouflage netting.

Residents of the village of Karpylivka, Rokytniv community, donated over UAH 43K for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Teachers and students of the music school in the village of Klesiv (Sarnenskyi region) sent over a dozen camouflage nets and 12 sets of thermal clothing to the military defending Ukraine in Slaviansk direction.

Ternopil oblast

An art master class with artist Rustam Davletov was held in Ternopil Regional Scientific Library thanks to the Psychological and Artistic Studios House project, which is aimed at supporting Ukrainian displaced persons and the Ukrainian cultural and creative sectors.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The LadyFest business forum dedicated to the development of women’s entrepreneurship was held in Khmelnytskyi. Participants of the forum could also participate in the collection of funds for the rehabilitation and prosthetics of Ukrainian defenders.

Chernivtsi oblast

The Leopard. Unfinished Business film about the famous cyborg with the call sign Boas was presented in Chernivtsi. Bars is the military Valerii Krasnian, who is a model of a patriotic Ukrainian. A legendary native of Bukovyna, cyborg, volunteer soldier, public figure, awarded with the People’s Hero order, the highest national award in Ukraine.

Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, reported that the country allocates another $500 mln in military aid to Ukraine.

Canada will join the training of Ukrainian pilots on the F-16.

Canada introduced sanctions against over 60 russian individuals and legal entities.

Canada will help Ukraine repair and maintain Western-made tanks.

Yana Chernokhova, Minister of Defense, stated that the Czech Republic plans to continue the training of the Ukrainian military on Gripen fighters on its territory. The Czech military trains the Ukrainians at their Libava training ground in the Olomouc region, as well as on the territory of Poland.

Penny Wong, Head of the Foreign Ministry of Australia, stated that the country supported the demand of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, to deprive russia of its right of veto in the UN Security Council and called for further reform of this body.

IAEA reported that an alternative supply of water for cooling the reactors was provided at the ZNPP.

Georgia denied flights to a sanctioned russian airline. The reason for the refusal was that the airline is on the EU blacklist. The first refusal was given on May 16, and the second – on September 14.
