It has been the 739th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The enemy continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it does not abandon its plans for the complete occupation of Ukraine, ignores the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, launches strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets. The enemy is actively using aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armoured vehicles.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains challenging.

On March 3, there were 68 combat engagements.

The enemy launched a total of 5 missile and 44 air strikes, carried out 54 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and various settlements. Unfortunately, russian terrorist attacks resulted in killed and wounded civilians. Residential private and apartment buildings, as well as other infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, there are no significant changes. No signs of formation of an offensive group are noticed. Certain units of the armed forces of belarus continue their missions in the areas bordering Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains its military presence in the areas of russia bordering Ukraine. The enemy continues its sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shelling Ukrainian settlements from the territory of russia and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine. The adversary launched air strikes in the vicinities of Lisne, Rozhkovychi. Druzhba, Bobylivka, Kyianytsia (Sumy oblast), Vovchansk, and Velykyi Burluk (Kharkiv oblast). More than 30 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Yeline, Buchky (Chernihiv oblast), Stara Huta, Seredyna-Buda, Sosnivka, Vovkivka, Oleksandrivka, Novodmytrivka (Sumy oblast), Udy, Veterynarne, Vovchansk, Okhrimivka, Milove, and Topoli (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Kupiansk, the russian army conducted 9 attacks on positions of Ukrainian troops in the vicinities of Synkivka and Tabaivka (Kharkiv oblast). The enemy launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Nadiia, and Tverdokhlibove (Luhansk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at more than 10 settlements, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove (Kharkiv oblast).

Towards Lyman, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 3 assaults near Terny, and Verkhnokamianske (Donetsk oblast), where the adversary, with air support, made attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The occupiers launched an airstrike near Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at around 15 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk oblast), Terny, Yampolivka, Torske, Serebryanka, and Verkhnokamianske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Bakhmut, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 4 attacks in the vicinities of Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, and Andriivka (Donetsk oblast), where the occupiers made attempts to improve their tactical situation. The enemy launched an airstrike in the vicinity of Druzhba (Donetsk oblast). More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Vasiukivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Andriivka, and Niu-York (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 attacks in the vicinities of Berdychi, Orlivka, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast). The russian army launched airstrikes in the vicinities of Pokrovsk, and Novobakhmutivka (Donetsk oblast). The invaders fired artillery and mortars at around 15x settlements, including Oleksandropil, Opytne, Novobakhmutivka, Berdychi, Orlivka, and Nevelske (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Novopavlivka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the invaders in the vicinities of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk oblast). In that area, the invaders, with air support, made 27 attempts to breach Ukrainian defense. The enemy launched airstrikes near Kurakhove, Vodyane, Vuhledar, and Urozhaine (Donetsk oblast). The enemy fired artillery and mortars at more than 20 settlements, including Kurakhove, Maksymilianivka, Yelyzavetivka, Katerynivka, Vodyane, Vuhledar, and Prechystivka (Donetsk oblast).

Towards Orikhiv, the russian army conducted no offensives. The enemy launched air strikes in the vicinities of Staromaiorske (Donetsk oblast), Verkhnya Tersa and Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia oblast). Around 20 settlements, including Novodarivka, Huliaipole, Malynivka, Omelnyk, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, and Prymorske  (Zaporizhzhia oblast), were under artillery and mortar fire of the occupiers.

Towards Kherson, Odesa operational-strategic group, the occupiers have not abandoned their intention to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro. The enemy conducted no offensives. The city of Kherson came under artillery and mortar fire.

The Ukrainian Air Force launched air strikes on 7 buildups of enemy troops.


President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, says that as a result of the russian attack in Odesa on March 2, 2024, 10 people were killed, including children aged 3 years, 8 months and 4 months. He also noted that there may still be children under the rubble.

Andriy Besedin, Head of Kupiansk City Military Administration, informs that all families with children from Kupiansk community refused to evacuate. As of March 3, there are 225 children there.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv community, said that the second educational institution in Kharkiv oblast was damaged by shelling in a day as russians hit a lyceum in Oleksandrivka during a shelling attack in the evening of March 2. In addition, four private houses, outbuildings and power grids were damaged in the village.

More than a hundred Kharkiv residents gathered to support the captured defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal. The participants walked from the regional state administration building to Istorychnyi Muzei underground station to remind them of the military men who have been in russian captivity for almost two years.

Andrii Besedin, Head of Kupiansk City Military Administration, reported that the families of all 225 children in Kupiansk community refused to be evacuated.

Over 15 settlements in Kharkiv oblast were under enemy artillery and mortar attacks yesterday: Dvorichna, Berestove, Pishchane and others. The enemy launched airstrikes on Berestove and Kupiansk.

At 7:20 am, a building of an educational institution was damaged as a result of hostile shelling in Vovchansk. There were no casualties.

Around 8:30 am, the enemy shelled Petropavlivka village, Kupiansk region.  A 60-year-old civilian man was injured as a result of the shelling and hospitalised in a medical institution. A private house was damaged. The liquidation of the consequences continues.

At 8:50 pm, Oleksandrivka village, Bohodukhiv region, was under mortar attack. A private house was damaged. There were no casualties.

At 1:45 pm, the roof of a house was damaged as a result of shelling in Vovchansk. There were no casualties.

At 9:50 am, Kupiansk was under hostile attack. A 55-year-old volunteer sustained shrapnel wounds as a result of an airstrike on the outskirts of the city. A civilian car was damaged.

Ukrainian defenders repelled 4 enemy attacks near Tabaivka over the day.

Combined teams of bomb disposal experts cleared 93.4 hectares of territory and destroyed 221 explosive ordnance. Mine clearance is ongoing.

Donetsk oblast

Yurii Tretiak, Acting Head of Myrnohrad City Military Administration, reported about russian shelling at 11:59 pm on 2 March, hitting two educational institutions with four missiles. Two injured residents received medical assistance and returned home, and another woman was hospitalised.

In the morning, the russian army launched a missile attack on Pokrovsk, causing no casualties. The CMA said that 9 apartment buildings, 3 private households and 2 educational institutions were damaged. The missile strike damaged 18 cars, 2 educational institutions, 14 apartment buildings, 4 private houses and a gas pipeline. 1,800 residents are left without gas.

Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office informed that the russian military attacked Myrnohrad with S-300 missiles and Pokrovsk with an Iskander-M missile. Two women aged 24 and 52 sustained shrapnel wounds as a result of the shelling in Pokrovsk.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, reported that the russian military shelled downtown Kurakhove, preliminarily with a guided missile. Allegedly, 16 people, including a child, were injured, two of them in critical condition. They are in hospital. At least 15 apartment buildings were damaged.

Towards Pokrovsk, russians shelled Myrnohrad, injuring 3 people and damaging several buildings at midnight. In the morning, Pokrovsk was hit, damaging 9 apartment buildings, 3 private houses and 2 educational institutions.

Towards Kramatorsk, two houses were damaged in Lyman community: in Kolodiazi and Zakitne. The outskirts of Kostiantynivka community were shelled.

Towards Bakhmut, 4 houses in Chasiv Yar community and another in Siversk were damaged.

In total, russians shelled settlements in Donetsk oblast 7 times over the day. 190 people, including 55 children, were evacuated from the frontline.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, stated that yesterday russians injured 4 civilians: 3 in Myrnohrad and 1 in Berestky.

Luhansk oblast

The invaders shelled Nevske once again and three explosions of incendiary ammunition were recorded on the outskirts of the settlement. A fire broke out. The forest plantations and dry grass were partially burnt out. There is currently no threat to civilians.

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that when the situation allowed, residents of Nevske received fuel and their postal orders that arrived to the closest post office near the contact line. 

While waiting for the wave of mobilisation which will start straight away after the March elections in russia, soldiers in reserve are being called to the meetings. The document says nothing about the number and duration of them. 

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the invaders destroyed Rubizhne during the assaults in the spring of 2022. And by the end of 2023, they began to dismantle it. They carry out demonstrative repairs only in the surviving buildings but they cannot be completed everywhere. 

Roman Vlasenko, Head of the regional administration, stated that residents of the so-called “lpr” are currently in the information bubble of the election campaign and they hear loads of promises to launch industrial enterprises and find investors. He noted that the money promised by the investors will not be enough for the restoration and launch of the Azot plant. The invaders turned the opening of the pharmacy in Sievierodonetsk with low-quality russian medicines into a national holiday.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Kyiv oblast has become one of the leaders among the regions with the largest number of approved applications for receiving micro-grants. As Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of the RMA  reported, last year 747 entrepreneurs from the oblast received micro-grants to start or develop their businesses in the amount of over UAH 178 million. This will create more than 1,600 new jobs.

Kyiv regional military administration reported that South Korean investors are helping improve the transport infrastructure of the oblast. Thanks to their help, the development of the transport model of the oblast has begun. It will allow analyzing the state of damage to the region’s transport infrastructure, developing a strategy for its restoration and optimizing transport flows.

KCSA reported that the Concept of energy security of the city, which will be based on European experience, is being developed in Kyiv. During the war, the capital is protecting energy facilities and stability of the city’s life support system. In case of emergency situations, the possibility of using alternative sources of fuel is considered. The new concept will be based on the principle of distributed cogeneration, when the production of electricity and heat is closer to the point of consumption.

The press services of Irpin and Bucha city councils reports that Donor Days continue in Kyiv oblast. Doctors accept those willing to donate blood at local polyclinics. The collected blood will be transferred to medical facilities for operations by the Ukrainian military.

KCSA reported that on the right bank of the capital, the Vilna space for women and girls has opened. It was organized on the basis of Kyiv’s Center for Gender Equality, Prevention and Counteraction of Violence. This space is a valuable resource for women and girls seeking support, care, and opportunities for self-expression and self-development.

The press service of the Women’s Veteran’s Movement reported that the opening of the exhibition and the presentation of the book “Poems from the gunhole” by poet and soldier Maksym Kryvtsov will take place on March 5 in Kyiv. All those interested will be able to purchase the book during the presentation, as well as receive artistic postcards with the image of Maksym “Dali” Kryvtsov for a donation. The poet and defender of Ukraine was killed on January 7, 2024.

Zhytomyr oblast

In educational institutions of Malyn community, shelters are being arranged. In particular, a shelter in preschool educational institution (PEI) No. 7, where heating was installed and comfortable conditions for preschoolers were provided, was repaired with the funds of the community budget. A modern shelter, equipped with a bathroom, good lighting and bright furniture, has been installed in PEI No. 4 with funds from UNICEF. The shelter at the Hranitne Lyceum was financed from the state budget.

The Regional Emergency Service reported that over the past two days, pyrotechnicians of Zhytomyr oblast destroyed four units of explosive objects. All dangerous findings were discovered by foresters during the round. Two hand grenades and a mortar mine from the Second World War were found in the forest near the village of Bila Krynytsia in Radomyshl region, and a modern unguided air missile was found in Korosten region. All ammunition was recovered and destroyed by controlled detonation.

Since the beginning of 2024, almost 200 unemployed people have participated in socially useful works in Zhytomyr oblast. As part of the Recovery Army project, the activity is being carried out in 14 territorial communities, namely weaving camouflage nets, arranging places for internally displaced persons to live, gathering firewood for the military and residents, and erecting protective structures.

Sumy oblast

At night and in the morning, the russians carried out 9 shelling attacks on the border territories of Sumy oblast. As reported by the RMA, there were 35 explosions recorded in 6 communities, caused by mortars and MLRS shelling, enemy guided bombs, and FPV drones. Yunakivka, Velyka Pysarivka, Shalyhine, Esman, Druzhbivka, Seredina-Buda communities came under shelling.

Sumy RMA reported that during the past day, the russians carried out 17 shelling attacks on the border. There were a total of 60 mortars, artillery and VOG munitions, dropped from unmanned aerial vehicles. The communities of Khotyn, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, Seredina-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske came under shelling.

On March 2, the enemy attacked one of the settlements of Shostka region, as a result of which multi-apartment residential buildings and a medical facility were damaged. The Regional Emergency Service reported that on March 3, rescuers completed the emergency recovery work at the site of the airstrike. A total of 129 windows were restored and the damaged roof of the residential building covered.

The National Police of the oblast reported that as a result of enemy strikes on the territory of Sumy oblast on March 2, the following were damaged: 5 private households in Seredyna-Buda community; premises of the central regional hospital, 2 cars, 12 private houses and 1 apartment in Velyka Pysarivka; and 6 private houses, 2 apartments and premises of a factory shop were destroyed by an airstrike in Svesa community.

The Ministry of Energy reported that 788 consumers in Sumy oblast were cut off due to russian shelling. Energy companies will start restoration as soon as the security situation allows. 1,148 consumers, which were switched off due to hostilities, were restored. Also, as a result of russian shelling on March 2, distribution gas pipelines were damaged in two regions of the oblast, as a result of which nearly 2,600 consumers were disconnected from gas supply.

Chernihiv oblast

The SBGS reported that russian troops carried out 9 shelling attacks on the border of Chernihiv oblast. Semenivka, Snovsk and Novhorod-Siverskyi communities were under enemy shelling. There were 83 mortars, barrel artillery hits and explosive devices dropped from UAVs.

The school bus fleet of Chernihiv oblast was replenished with five new vehicles, which were purchased by the international non-governmental organization ACTED with the financial support of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As reported by the RMA, new buses for transporting studentshave been delivered to Ripky, Novhorod-Siverskyi, Olyshivka, Berezna and Baturyn communities.

Nizhyn City Council reports that the solar power plant will be installed in the maternity hospital. The project is implemented thanks to the financial support of the Yellowblue Force Foundation together with the public organization Ekoklub. This will allow the emergency equipment of the medical facility to work for a few more hours after the power outage.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that at night russians launched a missile attack on Dnipro. The occupiers also attacked Nikopol region with artillery and a drone. They hit the region’s center, Myrove and Chervonohryhorivka communities. In the latter, a country house was damaged. During the day the occupiers shelled Nikopol region 11 times. They launched 7 kamikaze drones and fired 4 times from artillery. Nikopol, Marhanets and Pokrovsk communities were hit. A local resident was injured in Pokrovsk. The 51-year-old woman was provided with help in a hospital. In total, 13 private houses, the same number of outbuildings were damaged in the area, two more completely destroyed, 3 trucks and one car, a power line and fences damaged.

In Dnipro, relatives of captured defenders held a rally in their support.

Vinnytsia oblast

Vinnytsia school children raised almost UAH 66 K to buy stretchers for the military. To do this, the students collected waste paper, bottle caps, and other recyclables.

Poltava oblast

In Kremenchuk, locals organized a rally in support of Azovstal prisoners. War prisoners’ relatives and friends came to the rally.

Cherkasy oblast

Sergeant Volodymyr Shandra who was killed in action on April 29, 2022, near Popasna city of Luhansk oblast was buried in Chyhyryn region. It took almost 2 years to get the defender’s body.

In Cherkasy, war prisoners’ families held in russian captivity organized a rally in their support.  More than 3 dozen cars joined the rally.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

One person was killed in Zaporizhzhia oblast yesterday due to russian aggression. The enemy executed 221 strikes on 10 settlements in the region. Occupiers carried out airstrikes on Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne, attacked Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Malynivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Robotyne with 44 drones. Additionally, they executed 11 MLRS attacks on Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, and Mala Tokmachka. 163 artillery strikes targeted Orikhiv, Malynivka, Omelnyk, Prymorske, Lobkove, and other towns and villages along the frontline. There were 12 reports of residential buildings and infrastructure being destroyed.

The General Staff reported that the enemy conducted 4 unsuccessful attacks near Robotyne and west of Novoprokopiivka towards Orikhiv.

Aerial reconnaissance military of the 23rd brigade “Khortytsia” , together with the 8th Border Guard unit, destroyed an enemy observation complex MUROM-M, using a kamikaze drone. National Guard service members also targeted and damaged the enemy’s antenna equipment. MUROM-M is a russian complex designed for continuous day and night remote video-thermal observation, control, and protection of open areas, approaches, perimeters, and pathways to objects.

The Cabinet of Ministers allocated UAH 1.3 billion to construct fortifications in Zaporizhzhia oblast. According to Zaporizhzhia RMA, construction is underway from morning until late evening, with some operations even conducted at night.

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration states that yesterday, russian forces attacked Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities in Mykolaiv oblast. The enemy used FPV drones and carried out artillery strikes. There were no casualties. 

On March 3, relatives of military prisoners and those missing in action gathered for a peaceful  meeting to remind people of soldiers and civilians held in russian captivity under the banner “Don’t be silent! Captivity kills!” Approximately a hundred people gathered on Central Avenue in Mykolaiv.

Odesa oblast

Oleh Kiper, Head of Odesa RMA, says that rescuers recovered the body of a woman from under the rubble. She is the ninth casualty of the russian strike on the night of March 2. Next to the woman’s body, the body of a deceased baby was found, not even a year old.

the State Emergency Service informs that the clearance of rubble from the entrance of a multi-story building in Odesa continues. There may be four people under the rubble. Ten fatalities have been confirmed, including three children. 

March 3 is declared a Day of Mourning in Odesa and Odesa oblast for the victims of the drone attack the previous night.

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, expressed condolences for the overnight russian attack on Odesa and called for increased support for Ukraine after civilians became targets in many regions.

Oleh Kiper, Head of Odesa Regional Military Administration, says that a 61-year-old woman, who was injured in the russian drone attack on February 23, died in a hospital in Odesa. 

According to the South Operational Command, around noon, a russian aircraft attacked Odesa oblast. It launched an X-31P missile from the Black Sea, but it lost its combat capability. 

Kherson oblast

At night, occupiers shelled the village of Poniativka in Dariivka community. One person was killed as a result of the attack. Rescuers retrieved the body from the rubble.

In the morning, russian occupiers shelled Korabelnyi district in Kherson. A residential building was damaged, and one person injured.

On March 2, russian forces shelled 21 settlements in Kherson oblast. The enemy attacked Novooleksandrivka, Stanislav, Beryslav, Dniprovske, Kizomys, Zolota Balka, Bilozerka, Novoberyslav, Osokorivka, Havrylivka, Tomyna Balka, Prydniprovske, Inzhenerne, Antonivka, Sadove, Iantarne, Poniativka, Oleksandrivka, Respublikanets, Tiahynka, and the city of Kherson. Three high-rise buildings and 15 private houses were damaged, as well as critical infrastructure objects, an administrative building, and a store. Cars were also damaged. In Kherson, a post office was damaged due to shelling. One person was killed, and three others injured.

Counter-battery combat continues in the operational zone of the Southern Defense Forces. The enemy carried out one assault attack without armoured support. Suffering irrecoverable and sanitary losses of over 40 stormtroopers, they retreated to their original positions. Confirmed losses of the enemy on the left bank over the past day amounted to 69 occupiers, 8 cannons, 4 mortars, 18 units of automotive equipment, 1 boat, and 2 generators. An enemy dugout and a field supply point were destroyed.

Japan handed over a vehicle and protective gear to Kherson rescuers. The car is equipped with an additional level of protection and accessories. Protective knee pads, elbow pads, goggles, and cases for them were also purchased for pyrotechnics. The car and equipment were provided by the government of Japan through the UN Development Program in Ukraine.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Lutsk City Council sent 12 Mavic 3Ts, 15 Mavic 3s, 5 Mavic 3 FMCs, 5 KVS ANTIDRON G6+ anti-drone guns, 3 Starlinks, masking nets, and tools to the 53rd Battalion of the 100th Separate Brigade.

The Government of Ukraine decided to allocate almost UAH 1.5 bln for Volyn oblast to construct fortifications along the border. Today there are projects and construction is abot to start.

Zakarpattia oblast

Volunteers from Zakarpattia developed a model of the Bosorkan combat gun. The key task of the mock-up is to save the lives of the Ukrainian military, and distract the attention of russian drones from real weapons. In Ukraine, no one has yet produced a similar model.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Ivano-Frankivsk City Council continues to support native fallen heroes. 4 people from families of killed and missing soldiers will receive payments in the amount of UAH 300K. In 2024, such assistance will be approved for 24 relatives in the amount of UAH 1 mln 75K. Another 24 people will receive monthly payments in the amount of the living wage. In 2024, 515 people will receive such assistance. UAH 60K were also allocated from the budget to relatives of the fallen Heroes to install a monument. This week, another 18 families will receive such assistance in the amount of UAH 1 mln 80K.

For the children of the fallen Heroes, an excursion Journey to the Land of Safety was held as part of the Caring for the Hero’s Family project. The educational excursion was organized by the Carpathian rescuers of the State Emergency Service in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast. The children were shown fire engines, special vehicles and told how the firefighters work during the departure.

Lviv oblast

An outpatient rehabilitation center was opened at Novorozdil City Hospital thanks to benefactors. The center was equipped with modern simulators that will help soldiers recover from injuries.

New medical anesthesiology consoles were installed at the Yurii Lipa Novoiavoriv Hospital thanks to Novoiavoriv City Council and the United Nations Development Program UNDP Ukraine / UNDP in Ukraine. They are used to ensure the vital activities of seriously ill patients.

Volunteers assisting evacuees at Lviv Railway Station will be able to transport people with reduced mobility.  A car equipped with everything necessary for the transportation of people with disabilities was purchased thanks to the Bird of Ukraine public organization.

Students of the 9th grade of Novoiavoriv school organized a fair in support of the Armed Forces. The young benefactors donated UAH 9K for the purchase of walkie-talkies for the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade, which defends the country in Kharkiv oblast.

On the facade of Stilskyi school, Trostianets community, memorial plaques to fallen defenders Marian Peryi and Volodymyr Dembitskyi were opened.

Rivne oblast

Special tactical training was held in Varasha to ensure reliable protection and defense of critical infrastructure facilities, timely response to the situation in border areas. According to a conditional scenario, enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups intended to penetrate the territory of the community. Law enforcement officers detained criminals at the checkpoint, inspected the vehicle, in which they found explosives and weapons.

Specialists of the Regional Emergency Service use drones in their work to detect fires in natural ecosystems and during demining. Quadcopters conduct aerial reconnaissance of the airspace in all regions of the oblast. In addition, the pyrotechnicians of Rivne oblast have recently enhanced their skills of disarming explosive objects.

Ternopil oblast

Ternopil oblast sent 9 Pulsar Axion thermal imagers and 10 Motorola MotoTRBO radio stations to the military unit where Ternopil residents serve. This equipment was purchased with budget funds.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

In Khmelnytskyi, a man sued russia. He said that he could not sleep properly because of constant anxiety. In the statement, the man also noted that his contemplation of the destroyed buildings in Khmelnytskyi causes him additional discomfort. In the end, the court decided that russia should pay the man UAH 200K for the moral suffering caused by the war.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA awarded the Grateful Bukovyna award to Viktor Lycihak. He is one of the founders of the public formation Cossack Guard. He is currently a soldier of the 82nd Airborne Assault Brigade.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The estimate of Ukraine’s recovery needs has increased to $486 bln. “This figure is higher than the needs estimated at $411 bln a year ago,” reported the World Bank.

German authorities have collected over 500 testimonies about russian war crimes against Ukraine. “We want to convince victims and eyewitnesses of traumatic events to share with the police what they experienced,” said Marco Buschmann, German Justice Minister.

According to UNESCO estimates, Ukraine’s cultural and tourism sectors lost over $19 bln in revenue during the full-scale war. Total damages from the destruction of cultural objects and thousands of other cultural values ​​in the entire country reach almost $3.5 bln. UNESCO said that the deliberate destruction of cultural heritage objects, in particular, religious buildings and artefacts, can be considered a war crime.

Citizens of the Czech Republic have donated over €235 mln for Ukraine in two years. It is noted that almost 5 bln crowns (€196.5 mln) Czechs collected for humanitarian aid to Ukraine and over 1 bln crowns (€39 million) for weapons and military equipment. At the same time, in 2023, the willingness of citizens to donate funds to Ukraine dropped significantly, and some organizations received only a fraction of what they collected in the first months of the war. At the same time, organizations that collect money for weapons continue to operate successfully, as do those that collect funds for small projects.

Olivier Yankovets, General Director of ACI Europe, announced that air service in Ukraine may start operating already this year. “I think with high probability that the first flights in Ukraine will begin to be performed by the end of 2024. Despite the military risks, Ukraine does not stop trains, and they are very slow, unlike aircraft. However, for some reason, everyone decided that aviation is more dangerous,” he said.

In the capital of Latvia, streets named after moscow, Pushkin and Lermontov will be renamed.

David Jank, American producer, launched a podcast called Art During Wartime telling about Ukrainian culture during the war. He held the position of president of Universal Music East Europe, worked with the albums of Elton John, Sting, Metallica, U2, and also launched the branch of Universal Music in Ukraine.
