It has been the 480th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

The russian federation continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it does not abandon plans for the full occupation of Ukraine. 

The enemy continues to kill civilians in Ukraine, ignoring the laws and customs of war, using terror tactics, striking and shelling both military and civilian targets.

The russian occupiers carried out more than 40 airstrikes and fired 60 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements. Unfortunately, there were civilians killed and injured, including children, critical infrastructure facilities damaged, and more than 20 residential buildings, a school and other civilian infrastructure destroyed and damaged.

There is still a high threat of missile and air strikes across Ukraine.

The russian military continues to focus its main efforts on Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka, and heavy fighting continues. There were 17 combat engagements over the day.

The situation towards Volyn and Polissia remained unchanged. There were no signs of offensive groups forming. 

Combat training and coordination of the russian Armed Forces units before they are sent to the areas of combat operations in Ukraine are ongoing at the training grounds of the republic of belarus.

 Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian aggressor maintains a military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. During the day, there were air strikes on the settlements of Ohirtseve, Budarky, Vesele in Kharkiv oblast. He carried out mortar and artillery shelling of Karpovychi, Chernihiv oblast; Seredyno-Buda, Porokhon, Rozhkovychi, Tovstodubove, Bachivsk, Bilopillia, Iskryskivka, Hyrine, Popivka, Kindrativka, Stepne, Pysarivka, Basivka, Loknia, Myropillia, Stepok in Sumy oblast, as well as Velyka Pysarivka, Huriv Kozachok, Vetarynarne, Vovchansk, Budarky, Zemlianky, Bolohivka, Odnorobivka, Udy, Strilecha, Lukiantsi, Vovchanski Khutory in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupyansk, the enemy conducted offensive actions against Novoselivske in Luhansk oblast, but did not succeed. There was an airstrike on Kyslivka in Kharkiv oblast. Krasne Pershne, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zakhidne, Kupyansk, Kyslivka and Berestove in Kharkiv oblast came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Lyman, the enemy conducted offensive actions in the direction of Spirne in the Luhansk region, but did not succeed. There were airstrikes on the settlements of Bilohorivka and Myrne in Luhansk oblast. Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast and Torske, Verkhnekamianske, Rozdolivka and Spirne in Donetsk oblast came under artillery fire.

Towards Bakhmut, the russian enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives against Orikhovo-Vasylivka.  He conducted airstrikes on the settlements of Ivanivske, Pivnichne, Bila Hora and Toretsk. Hostile artillery shelling affected the areas of Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Bohdanivka, Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Ozarianivka, Bila Hora, Kostiantynivka, Pivnichne in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Avdiivka, the enemy conducted an airstrike near the town of Avdiivka. They shelled the areas of Keramik, Novokalynove, Stepove, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Karlivka, Berdychi, Lastochkine, Avdiivka and Sievierne in Donetsk oblast with artillery.

Towards Marinka, Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks in the vicinity of the town of Mariinka. The enemy also launched an airstrike there. At the same time, they conducted artillery shelling in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Hostre, Heorhiivka, Marinka, Pobieda, Maksymilianivka and Illinka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the enemy conducted offensive actions against Novomykhailivka and Vuhledar in Donetsk oblast, but was unsuccessful. He carried out airstrikes in the areas of Zolota Nyva and Blahodatne, Donetsk oblast. He fired at the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Katerynivka, Blahodatne, Vuhledar, Bohoiavlenka, Novoukrainka, Prechystivka, Shakhtarske, Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk oblast.

The enemy continues to conduct defensive actions towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. The enemy launched air strikes near Makarivka in Donetsk oblast, Levadne, Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka in Zaporizhzhia oblast, and Kozatske in Kherson oblast. Vremivka and Makarivka in Donetsk oblast; Zelene Pole, Novodarivka, Levadne, Malynivka, Zatyshchia, Huliaipole, Huliaipilske, Orikhiv, Lobkove, Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia oblast; Mykhailivka, Novodmytrivka, Havrylivka, Kachkarivka, Beryslav, Tomaryne, Vesele, Kozatske, Burhunka, Virivka, Ivanivka, Antonivka, Kherson, Dniprovske, Kizomys, Sofiivka, Myroliubivka in Kherson oblast and Ochakiv in Mykolaiv oblast.

In the village of Pokrovske, Zaporizhzhia oblast, engineering units of the russian occupation forces are mining private land plots of local residents who refused to receive a russian passport and moved to the territory controlled by Ukraine. 

At the same time, the agricultural land of local collaborators is not subject to mining. 

Aviation of the Ukrainian defense forces carried out 7 strikes on buildups of enemy personnel and destroyed an enemy anti-aircraft missile system.

Also, Ukrainian defenders destroyed an enemy Ka-52 helicopter, 3 Iranian Shahed strike UAVs and 5 reconnaissance UAVs.

Rocket and artillery units destroyed 2 control points, 4 anti-aircraft missile systems, 2 buildups of enemy personnel and military equipment, and 2 ammunition depots.

Mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov reports that the occupiers are taking almost 300 children from Berdiansk region Chuvashia (russia). 

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the military administration of Kherson oblast, says that as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP in Kherson oblast, 6 settlements remain flooded. He also said that explosive experts have already traced almost 310 hectares of territory where water could have brought explosives, and 4 explosive devices have been found and neutralized.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the russian army conducted airstrikes on Ohirtseve, Budarky, Vesele and Kyslivka settlements in Kharkiv oblast. 

On June 18, at around 7:00, the russians troops fired on Kupiansk. A private house was damaged. There were no casualties. 

Yevhen Vasylenko, Spokesman for the Regional Rescue Department said that a 52-year-old man in Tokarivka village of Derhachiv community was blown up on a mini-petal mine. As a result of the explosion, he suffered traumatic amputation of the toes of his right foot and was hospitalized.

Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv Military Administration said that around 12:00, on June 18, russian forces launched 8 artillery strikes on the village of Morozova Dolyna. The destruction is being clarified. The village is without electricity, there were no casualties.

The Prosecutor’s Office said that the russian military hit Lyptsi and Kupiansk in the afternoon. A 35-year-old man was injured in Lyptsi as a result of the shelling.

The russian occupies fired at settlements in Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Chuhuiv and Bohodukhiv regions.

A residential building and outbuildings were damaged in Novoosynove village of Kupiansk region.

In Kolisnykivka village of Kupiansk region, at 23:00, a house and a cellar were damaged.

Near the village of Huriv Kozachok, Bohodukhiv region, 2 people were killed by a direct hit from an anti-tank missile system to a civilian car – a 42-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman who were volunteers. The remains of the victims could be taken away only at about 9 p.m. because it was dangerous to go there: the place is clearly visible from the russian border.

  In the village of Odnorobivka, Bohodukhiv region, a recreation park was damaged by artillery shelling and the gas network was damaged.

The shelling of Vovchansk, Chuhuiv region, damaged 3 residential buildings and outbuildings.

In Vilcha, Chuhuiv region, 4 houses and power lines were damaged. There were no casualties. 

Mine clearance is ongoing. During the day, the SES pyrotechnics inspected almost 7 hectares of territory and neutralized 176 ordnance. 

Donetsk oblast

Vitaliy Barabash, Head of the city military administration, said that Ukrainian troops have advanced by more than 1 kilometre near Avdiivka over the past two weeks.

Towards Volnovakha, two people were killed in Novoukrainka and Bohoiavlenka of Vuhledar community.

Towards Donetsk, there were sporadic shelling attacks of Avdiivka.

Towards Horlivka, 2 people were wounded in Kostiantynivka, one of them is a child. 11 private houses and a gas pipeline were damaged in the town.

Towards Lysychansk, houses on three streets in Siversk were damaged. During the day, there were 6 attacks on Lyman community.

According to Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of Donetsk RMA, russians killed 2 residents in Novoukrainka and Bohoiavlenka. Three more people were wounded in the oblast over the day.

Luhansk oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that russian soldiers are fleeing the front in the occupied Luhansk oblast. In particular, at the village of Novorososh near Novopskov, russian guards are looking for russian deserters from among the mobilized.

Over the past 17 days, Stelmakhivka, Nevske, Bilohorivka and Novoselivske came under the russian army’s mortar and artillery fire. The enemy keeps trying to advance towards Novoselivske and Bilohorivka, remaining active near these settlements. They were attacked again, and once again, unsuccessfully. All the russians’ attempts were stopped by the Ukrainian military. The enemy has repeatedly used rotation and reinforcement of its troops in the region, but new units do not help it move forward.

 

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

A peaceful demonstration in support of military medics held in russian captivity took place on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv. More than a hundred people attended the rally to once again bring this issue to the attention of both Ukraine and the international community. The event was arranged by the  Military Medics of Ukraine NGO.

The Ukrainian Women’s Guard conducted another tactical medical training for women and girls in Kyiv. The training took place at the Obolon Vcentri HUB under the guidance of experienced instructors. The aim of the event is to develop first aid skills, social cohesion of Ukrainians, support and assistance during the war.

Near Kyiv, reconstruction of a dormitory in Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka continues to accommodate IDPs there. According to the charitable organization Accommodation for IDPs, the project design also includes parking lots for cars and bicycles, sports and children’s playgrounds, and a recreation area.

New trophies have appeared on Mykhailivska Square in Kyiv, where russian armored vehicles destroyed by the AFU during the liberation of Ukrainian territories have been on display for more than a year. This military equipment including multiple rocket launchers, self-propelled artillery systems, armored vehicles, armored personnel carriers and tracked vehicles is provided by the National Military History Museum of Ukraine. This equipment includes multiple rocket launchers, self-propelled artillery systems, armored vehicles, armored personnel carriers and tracked vehicles destroyed or stopped by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The city council reported that American philanthropists sent 50 boxes of medical equipment to Bucha’s Consultation and Diagnostic Center. The cargo consists mainly of medical tools and consumables to examine and treat patients.

On June 27, the forum Respect. Experience. Perspective will be held  at the Ukraine-Uninform media center. It will be attended by veterans, officials, representatives of civil society and business. They will meet to strengthen the dialogue with the veteran community regarding opportunities for veterans on the way to reintegration, education, and employment.

Zhytomyr oblast

A drone manufacturing company that has been operating for about a year and is based in Zhytomyr has developed and manufactured reconnaissance and strike models of drones. Mykola Havryliuk, co-founder of the company, said that these models are being tested at the frontline. The project was launched in the summer of 2022 and financed by private funds and foundations. The company is currently undergoing authorization at the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

This week, Zhytomyr lyceum No. 24 harvested the first crop as part of the all-Ukrainian initiative Victory Gardens. In March, students and their teachers sowed seeds in the lyceum’s own greenhouse and tended the beds on a daily basis. The first harvest – lettuce, dill, parsley, spinach, sorrel, arugula, green onions – was distributed to children, and IDPs from Soledar who live near the lyceum.

The village council reported that a food fair was held in Cherniakhiv to help the AFU. In total, the event raised UAH 28 K for the needs of Ukrainian defenders.

Sumy oblast

The RMA reported that on June 17, the russian army opened fire 21 times on the border areas of Sumy oblast. There were 119 explosions recorded. Khotin, Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Miropillia, Shalyhine, Druzhbivka, Esman, Seredyno-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske, and Velyka Pysarivka communities were under mortar and artillery fire.

As a result of shelling, a TV tower was damaged in Bilopillia community, a private household, 2 shops, a power line, a village council building, and an apiary were damaged in Miropillia. An elevator and equipment were damaged in Krasnopillia, and an administrative building in Shalyhine.

At night and in the morning of June 18, the enemy fired 12 times at the border areas. There were 59 explosions recorded. Khotin, Krasnopillia, Yunakivka, Esman, Seredyno-Buda, and Velyka Pysarivka communities were shelled.

Volodymyr Artiukh, Head of Sumy RMA, a father and a son were killed by artillery shelling of Bilopillia. They had not reached the shelter by 5 meters when a russian shell exploded three meters away from them. According to the mayor, powerful explosions occurred in the city center around 4:20 p.m. According to preliminary information, the attacks took place near a local dormitory, in a cinema, and in a residential building.

According to the information provided by the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting of Sumy oblast, as a result of russian shelling on June 17, a TV tower in Bilopillia was damaged, and broadcasting of Ukrainian TV and radio channels was temporarily suspended. The high-rise building has been cut off from power, survey work is underway. This is the fourth shelling of the TV tower in Bilopillya since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. 

Chernihiv oblast

There were 7 attacks from various types of weapons in Chernihiv oblast over the last day, including 46 bombs fired from 120-mm and 82-mm mortars and 8 shells from artillery. As a result of the shelling, 4 residential buildings burned down in the village of Kliusy of Snovsk community.

The Chernihiv border guard detachment reported that on the morning of June 18, the russian troops shelled the border community of Semenivka with a mortar. There were 3 explosions near Karpovychi village.

Since the de-occupation of the oblast, more than 20 people have been killed and nearly 30 injured by shelling in Chernihiv oblast. Viacheslav Chaus, head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported that settlements are almost daily shelled, sometimes 5-6 times a day. According to him, the military administration suggests moving from the border areas under fire to a safe temporary residence with all the necessary facilities.

An unexploded 30-mm ammunition was found among fallen leaves in Yalivshchyna tract. A police tactical response unit has discovered the projectile while patrolling. According to law enforcement officials, it probably landed on the territory of the tract during active hostilities in February-March 2022.

UNICEF children’s playground will be open in Chernihiv. The playground will be used for free workshops, games, and various activities for children and be operating in a test mode for the time being.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

In the afternoon, the russians shelled Nikopol, damaging two critical infrastructure facilities.  9 private houses, 7 outbuildings, a car, some fences, solar power plant panels, a gas pipeline, and 2 power lines were also damaged.

In Nikopol, as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP, the Chance for Life dog shelter is without water. The animals drink at least 300 litres of water a day. Volunteers cannot find a source of water in such volumes.

This week, journalists from Ukrainian and international media, such as France 24, Radio France, Liberation (France); Berlingske (Denmark); Donbas Frontliner, 1+1 TV channel, RADA TV channel, Freedom TV channel, and Welt (Germany) visited Nikopol. The journalists visited water distribution points and interviewed people.

Thirty children of military personnel and IDPs travelled from Dnipro to Truskavets for rehabilitation. The children will spend three weeks there. They will take part in group training sessions, animation activities, excursions, and masterclasses. The rehabilitation of the children was funded by philanthropists.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​Vinnytsia oblast sent 28 workers and special equipment to Kherson to overcome the flooding consequences.  

Speaker systems made from Javelin tubes are manufactured in Vinnytsia at a professional audio equipment manufacturing facility. The tubes from Javelin are being delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces units that use anti-tank missile systems in the fight against the russians.

Kirovohrad oblast

A bike ride in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was held in Kropyvnytskyi. The event was organized by the Sports Tourism Federation of Ukraine and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. All funds raised will be donated to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Poltava oblast

Masts with flags of countries supporting Ukraine in its fight against the russian aggressor have been erected near the Kredmash Palace of Culture in Kremenchuk. Each of them is 8 metres high. There are flags of the EU, the USA, Canada, the UK, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia.

Cherkasy oblast

Cherkasy oblast is at risk due to the relocation of the Bal coastal missile system division to Briansk oblast, which increases the threat of enemy strikes with Kh-35 missiles. The military notes that it will be difficult for air defenses to respond to attacks from these systems.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that on June 17, the russian army fired at 20 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region.

On June 17, as a result of shelling by russian troops, three fires broke out in the frontline Orikhiv: two residential buildings and an outbuilding burned, and a 56-year-old man was injured during the shelling. He was promptly taken to the hospital. 

Yurii Malashko, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA reported that wells near the Zaporizhzhia NPP help maintain the water level in the cooling pond within normal limits after the russian occupiers blew up the Kakhovka HPP. 

The russian occupiers are trying to strengthen their positions towards Zaporizhzhia, where the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue counteroffensive actions. In particular, enemy personnel and military equipment are moving there from Kherson oblast through Melitopol. 

Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, in an interview with USA Today stated that the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts is showing signs of success. He noted that a ‘bloody and difficult’ offensive is expected, as the russian occupiers have built strong defense lines. At the same time, he believes that the first battles may indicate that the money and weapons invested in the Ukrainian army are paying off.

Ivan Fedorov, Mayor of Melitopol, wrote in Telegram that according to preliminary data, the russian invaders are going to deport almost 300 minors from the temporarily occupied Berdiansk to Chuvashia. So far, 48 children have been deported, and the rest are planned to be taken in several shifts. After such a crime, they will be able to manipulate the situation towards Berdiansk, keeping the children in the aggressor country as hostages.  

Mykolaiv oblast

Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported that on June 18, the air defense forces of the ‘South’ Air Command destroyed a russian drone. In Ochakiv community, on June 17, the water area and the open territory of the city of Ochakiv were shelled. There were no casualties or damage.  

A Mykolaiv marine with the call sign ‘Summer’ destroyed a $16 million russian Alligator attack helicopter with a single shot.

The flooding caused by the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP affected not only settlements but also forests, including the Kinburn Spit. Here, 2,200 hectares were flooded. In Snihurivka forestry of the Bashtanka Forestry branch, 65 hectares of forest plantations remain under water. Pavlivka, Minvody and Halahanivka tracts were affected by the flood. The biggest flooding was observed in the Afanasivsky tract. The total area of forests flooded in Mykolaiv oblast is now 2,292 hectares.

Odesa oblast

According to the ‘South’ Operational Command, 9 russian ships remain on combat duty in the Black Sea, including one missile frigate equipped with Kalibr missiles. There is also one ship in the Sea of Azov that monitors the land surface. The threat of a missile attack remains high. 

The current is bringing debris to the coast of Odesa oblast, including dangerous items that cannot be immediately identified. After all, it has torn up the minefields that the occupiers were setting up on the Dnipro and in the Kakhovka reservoir, which can lead to their release along with the garbage. They are not as visible as sea mines, so they pose a significant danger. Currently, a large number of mines are drifting in the water downstream.

Odesa volunteers have converted an ordinary minibus into a barbershop on wheels for the military. Six men worked on it for a month. This is an initiative of the volunteers from the Workshop of Invincibility, who make buggies for air defense units and the Invincibility Point on wheels. They turned a bus into a full-fledged mobile barbershop with three seats, equipped with chairs, tools, hot water and electricity supply.

Kherson oblast

On the morning of June 18, the Defense Forces destroyed a russian Zala UAV over Kherson oblast. They also struck at air defense positions and manpower buildups of russian troops in Skadovsk and Kherson regions. The losses of the russian army include 9 soldiers, a converted boat, a cannon, a tank and 8 armored vehicles.

As of 10:30 a.m., about 30% of houses in the temporarily occupied Holoprystan community were destroyed by flooding. In the central and eastern parts of Hola Prystan, the water level in the lowlands is about one meter. There is no electricity, gas or water in the flooded parts of the city. Residents of the villages of Kardashinka and Kohany have no access to their homes. In Velyka and Mala Kardashinka, shops are closed, food is not delivered, according to the Golopristan CMA.

As of 14:00, June 18, the average water level in Kherson oblast is 0.93 meters. 879 houses in six settlements on the right bank remain flooded. In the temporarily occupied territories, 17 settlements are flooded.

Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, reported that on the left bank of Kherson oblast, a significant number of architectural and historical monuments are in the flooded zone. Among these places are Polina Raiko’s house, the Oleshky Sich, and the Tyahyn fortress. Information about the destruction is impossible to find out because of the occupation.

On June 17, in the temporarily occupied Kherson oblast, russian soldiers fired at a car in which a man and his 15-year-old son were traveling from Oleshky to the village of Sahy. Both were killed.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported on June 17, the russian army fired 68 times at the oblast. They fired 29 shells at Kherson. Residential areas were hit. One person was killed, and four injured, including a child. 

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, russian troops launched an airstrike on Kozatske and Komyshany in Kherson oblast. Artillery attacked Mykhaylivka, Novodmytrivka, Chervonyi Maiak, Shliakhove, Beryslav, Vesele, Kozatske, Mykolaivka, Burhunka, Olhivka, Tiahyntsi, Novotiahyntsi, Poniativka, Sadove, Molodizhne, Antonivka, Kherson, Chornobaivka, Romashkove, Dniprovske, Berehove, Velytenske, Kizomys and Sofiivka.  

In Kherson, the entrance to part of the Korabel neighborhood will be opened on June 19. There is no access to Hydropark and Naftohavan yet, as demining and cleanup work continues there. 

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration said that after the flooding in the de-occupied part of Kherson oblast, 80% of power equipment was saved. The worst situation is currently in Mykilske. It will take at least a month to repair and restart the flooded power infrastructure. From the middle of next week, power engineers will start connecting the neighborhood of Korabel to the grid.

Vinnytsia Regional State Administration sent 11 specialized vehicles to overcome the consequences of the Kakhovka HPP explosion. The equipment includes dump trucks, front-end loaders, vacuum sweepers and more. Besides, 28 employees from different communities of Vinnytsia oblast arrived in the city to help restore normal living conditions.

People affected by the flooding received humanitarian aid from the International Humanitarian Center. Blankets, pillows, generators, food packages and wheelchairs were delivered to Chornobaivka. The mission members also took care of the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers. They delivered drones, power banks, cars and water.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Currently, 52 476 people live in Volyn and have the IDP status. This amounts to 37 573 families in which 15 245 children are being raised. IDPs are housed in state, communal, and private institutions. Most of the displaced people (over 90%) live in the private sector. In addition, 228 elderly and disabled people were evacuated to residential institutions, inpatient care units, and social service centers in Volyn.

Zakarpattia oblast

Zakarpattia Regional Council reported that the 14th bath-laundry complex was sent to the Main Directorate of Intelligence. This complex has been modernized and now has air conditioning, three outdoor summer showers, and the bath itself has been expanded and now it can accommodate 8 people.

The RMA held a meeting with Andrii Kostin, Prosecutor General. Issues of the region’s security, cooperation of the prosecutor’s office with other law enforcement agencies, defense forces, the regional military administration and local self-government were discussed.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

During the war, 842 IDPs were employed in Prykarpattia. For employment of 679 IDPs, the Regional Employment Center provided compensation to 405 employers. In total, 4.7K IDPs applied to the employment centre, of which 2.6K received the status of unemployed.

Lviv oblast

Defenders of the 103rd separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces received For Exemplary Service badges from Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, and Silver Cross honorary badges signed by General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Awards were presented by Colonel Oleksandr Kiago, Head of the regional department of the West Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Clothes, medicines, food, hygiene products, water and generators were sent to Kherson from the Lviv district thanks to the Hearts Together CF, the CF named after Volodymyr Sternyuk, the With God’s Help CF and Pustomytiv community.

Over 1K camouflage nets and 400 kikimors for soldiers have been made by the residents of Rudok of Sambir region since the war began. Funds to purchase threads are provided by the Church of the Holy Eucharist and the city’s humanitarian headquarters. Material is provided by caring residents of the community.

Rivne oblast

Since last October, 23 employees of Rivneoblenergo have been restoring power grids in Kherson oblast damaged by the enemy. This made it possible to restore electricity supply in 41 settlements of the oblast.

Ternopil oblast

With the support of Ternopil RMA, to support local residents, a psychological assistance office from the Coordinating Center was opened in the Regional Medical Center for Socially Dangerous Diseases.

In Ternopil oblast, the regional subsystem management agency of the Unified State Civil Protection System has begun training staff to practice measures to protect residents in the event of a radiation or chemical emergency.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The Evacuation Train to Victory arrived from Kherson to Khmelnytskyi. About 90 K displaced people have arrived during the war, about 12 K people remaining in the oblast.

Netishyn City Council reported that on June 2, during the artillery shelling of positions in Zaporizhzhya oblast, soldier Serhii Feloniuk, a sapper of the 2nd engineering and sapper detachment of the sapper platoon of the 1st mechanized battalion, military unit 4447, was killed. On June 19, 20, and 21, a three-day mourning period was announced in the community.

Chernivtsi oblast

Chernivtsi RMA identified 37 enterprises, institutions and organizations as critical for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the livelihood of the population in a special period. Currently, the RMA is considering 13 more appeals.

The special emergency rescue squad of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Chernivtsi oblast received a heavy pyrotechnic machine (PM-V). The car has the 4th level of armor protection, which allows transporting explosive objects on public roads.

The US Department of Defense hopes that by the end of the summer, about 200 Ukrainian servicemen will complete training on Abrams tanks. The end of the training program will roughly coincide with the expected autumn delivery of 31 M1A1 Abrams tanks promised to Ukraine earlier this year.

The Minister of Defense of Germany, responding to the statement of the episcopal vicar of the Catholic Osnabruck diocese, Theo Paul, that Ukraine can resist ‘nonviolently’, recommended him to say these words to the people of Bucha. “Tell this to the people in Bucha. I can’t tell them about nonviolent resistance, tears of rage are coming to my eyes,” Pistorius said.

Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, said that Ukraine should determine the conditions for a fair end to the war, and also warned against hasty peace talks between Ukraine and the russian federation.

Pavlo Kolesnyk, a well-known medic and volunteer from Uzhgorod, received the prestigious title of 5-Star Medic of 2023 at this year’s WONCA Europe Conference in Brussels. This is the first time the World Organization of Family Physicians has given such an award to a Ukrainian!
