It has been the 848 th day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 7pm:   

The total number of enemy attacks along the entire frontline since the beginning of the day is 96. The enemy continues to use aircraft and attack in several directions. Ukrainian defenders are holding the line.

Towards Kharkiv, the invaders have already dropped six UAVs from the territory of the russian federation, from the directions of Belgorod and Shebekino in Belgorod region. Vovchansk, Neskuchne and Lyptsi were bombed. Today, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in Vovchansk and near Tykhe.

Towards Kharkiv, the enemy lost 59 people killed and injured in action today. Several more invaders surrendered, choosing life over senseless death.

Towards Pokrovsk, combat is currently ongoing in 14 locations, including Sokil, Vozdvyzhenka and Novooleksandrivka. The sector remains the hottest. The enemy is also using aviation. Enemy UAVs attacked Yevhenivka, Vovche and Nova Poltavka today. The total number of enemy attacks increased to 34 over the day.

Our defenders are holding back the invaders, inflicting significant losses. According to preliminary information, the invaders lost 295 people in this sector over the day, 99 of them were irretrievably injured. Three armoured combat vehicles, two cannons, a piece of special equipment and a UAV ground control station were destroyed. Three armoured vehicles and four enemy artillery systems were damaged.

In the afternoon, there were two new unsuccessful enemy attacks towards Kurakhove and Prydniprovskyi. In the latter direction, russian terrorists also dropped six guided aerial bombs, hitting Novotiahynka, Ivanivka and Mykolaivka.

In other areas, the situation did not change significantly.

Ukrainian defence forces continue to hold back the enemy and inflict maximum losses along the entire frontline.

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reported that it was possible to identify 4 invaders who shot Ukrainian prisoners of war.

It is known that the invaders were part of the assault group of the 70th motorised rifle regiment of the 42nd motorised rifle division of the 58th army of the southern district of the russian armed forces.

Dmytro Lubinets, Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, informed that ten Ukrainian children and their families were returned to Ukraine from the temporarily occupied territories. He also said that the so-called occupation authorities forced the children to go to russian school and sing russian national anthem every Monday.

The press service of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine stated that Ukraine has returned a 16-year-old boy who was taken by russians from Lysychansk to russia. The return was organised with the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of Ukraine in Belarus, the Consulate General of Ukraine in Lublin and with the assistance of the Ukrainian Child Rights Network.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

On 20 June, russian propaganda Telegram channels published a video of an airstrike on the border of Kharkiv oblast. The description of the footage claims that the russian army used a three-tonne high explosive bomb with a planning and correction module for the first time. The russian airstrike on the hospital in Lyptsi was confirmed by Nazar Voloshyn, Spokesman of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group. According to Kharkiv police chief Volodymyr Tymoshko, the russians actually struck with a guided aerial bomb or UMB, but the weight of the warhead can only be determined after inspecting the impact site.

The street is being cleared of mines at a rate of 20m per day and it takes several days to clear the area around two or three houses. This is how the SES sappers describe the progress of mine clearance in Izium region. Currently, they are working in one of the de-occupied villages near Izium, which they reached a year and a half after the liberation.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the RMA, reported that the new Kharkiv Wings project is being implemented jointly with the deputies of Kharkiv Regional Council. The first batch of 10 domestically produced Vampire drones was handed over to the legendary CODE 9.2 special forces unit, the fighters of the attack drone platoon.

The International Committee of the Red Cross will donate 13 modular boilers. An agreement was reached with Stephanie Hartlacher, head of the ICRC Kharkiv sub-delegation. The 13 mobile modular boilers will provide heat to about 23,000 residents of Kharkiv oblast during the next heating season.

Yevhenii Koliada, Head of the Humanitarian Coordination Centre, reoprted that they have insured 2,550 volunteers from more than 110 organisations in Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts against accidents and war risks. According to him, under the insurance programme, volunteers or their families receive the maximum amount of compensation in case of death or first-grade disability, which is UAH 300,000. Koliada added that they plan to increase the number of insurance policies for volunteers to 3,000.

Yesterday at 4:28pm, the territory of two recreation camps in Kharkiv was damaged. A private house and a car were damaged, and a woman injured as a result of the shelling of the camp.

Yesterday at 4:13pm, Vilkhivka village of Vilkhivka community, Kharkiv region, was shelled. The shelling damaged 10 private houses, injured a man and killed a woman.

Also, at 4:13pm, Novoosynove village of Kurylivka community, Kupiansk region, was shelled. The shelling damaged a car and 10 houses. A woman and a man were injured.

At 2:40pm, Khotimlia village, Chuhuiv region, was hit. A private house was damaged as a result of a UAV shelling.

At 4pm, Kruhliakivka village, Kupiansk region, was under attack. A man was injured as a result of the shelling.

At 11:15am, the enemy attacked Zahryzove village, Izium region. The shelling damaged 8 residential buildings.

Towards Kharkiv, the invaders unsuccessfully attacked six times near Lyptsi and Vovchansk with the support of aviation.

Towards Kupiansk, the enemy made 11 attempts to push our units back from their positions near Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Pishchane and Kruhliakivka. Eight of the enemy’s attacks were successfully repelled, and three combat engagements are ongoing near Stepova Novoselivka.

Donetsk oblast

The General Staff said in a morning report that on 20 June, the russian army attacked the Defence Forces towards Toretsk, trying to force the Ukrainian military out of their positions near Shumy and Niu-York. As of 10am, the battle continues.

 Combat also continued in Kramatorsk, Pokrovsk, Kurakhove and Luhansk. In total, since the beginning of the day, the russian army has attacked and stormed more than 25 times in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.  

Nazar Voloshyn, Spokesman of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group, reported that yesterday Ukrainian troops killed a record number of russian soldiers near Chasiv Yar, more than 110 and injured 130 others. The russian military reduced the number of airstrikes in this area.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, informed that there are still 110 children in Lyman community, where the forced evacuation of children with their parents was announced.

Serhii Horbunov, Head of Kostiantynivka City Military Administration, reported about the attack at about 9am with a KAB-500 bomb. The hit was in the suburbs, where there are summer houses. A man born in 1955 was killed and a woman born in 1959 injured. One house was completely destroyed and three more damaged.

Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, said that three people were killed as a result of shelling in Rozkishne village of Illinivka community. The regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that four more locals were injured: men aged 32 and 37, a 57-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy sustained mine-blast traumas and shrapnel wounds. The russian army hit Rozkishne on the afternoon of 20 June with cluster munitions.

Volodymyr Proskunin, Acting Head of Mykolaivka CMA, informed that on 20 June, the russian military shelled Mykolaivka. As a result, one person was killed and three others injured.

The Ministry of Energy added that in Donetsk oblast, a team of power engineers were under attack while working on a power line. One of them was injured. The 33-year-old man was taken to hospital.

The operational situation in the oblast as of the morning of 20 June is as follows:

Pokrovsk region. Maksymilianivka, Paraskoviivka and Kostiantynivka of Marinka community were shelled. In Kurakhove community, 10 houses in Dachne, 9 houses in Ostrivske, 2 houses and an enterprise in Kurakhivka were damaged. The outskirts of Selydove were shelled. A house in Shevchenko village of Pokrovsk community was damaged.

Kramatorsk region. An administrative building was damaged in Zarichne of Lyman community. An enterprise was damaged in Mykolaivka community and an infrastructure facility in Kostiantynivka community. A person was killed and 13 objects damaged in Rozkishne of Illinivka community.

Bakhmut region. A person was injured, 15 private houses, an apartment building and 9 garages were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. In Toretsk community, a person was killed in Toretsk, 1 person was injured in Zalizne and 1 in Pivnichne. Two houses were destroyed in Siversk.

In total, russians shelled settlements in Donetsk oblast 26 times over the day. 149 people, including 34 children, were evacuated from the frontline.

Vadym Filashkin, Head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration, said that yesterday russians killed 2 civilians: in Toretsk and Rozkishne. Another 4 people were injured in the oblast.

Luhansk oblast

russians shelled our villages along the contact line 109 times. Specifically, 62 mortar attacks and 46 artillery attacks were recorded. They hit Stelmakhivka, Makiivka, Kuzemivka and Nevske. The last settlement was hit by a multiple rocket launcher system.

The enemy tried to attack towards Lyman and Kupiansk 26 times yesterday, near Stelmakhivka, Makiivka, Hrekivka, Nevske and Serebrianka forest.

According to preliminary information, the enemy’s losses towards Lyman amounted to 88 people, two armoured combat vehicles, 75 UAVs and two vehicles.

Artem Lysohor, Head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration, reported that in Ukraine, patients with diabetes receive the necessary medicines and supplies under a state programme. In the so-called “lpr”, they are being sued for these medicines. For instance, in Antratsyt region, the parents of seven children with disabilities, who need constant use of special medical devices, received test strips for measuring blood glucose levels only after a court order directed at the “lpr Ministry of Health”.

Another vehicle has been delivered to the soldiers of the 111th separate brigade of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This vehicle, three drones and other items necessary for the soldiers were provided to the brigade by Starobilsk region.

The Ombudsman of Ukraine received 115 appeals from Luhansk oblast regarding the observance and protection of human rights and freedoms in 2023. This became known at the forum “The Way of Dignity: Protection of Human Rights under Martial Law in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions” forum, where the annual report of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights was presented.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

KCMA said that the air defence forces destroyed all the targets used by the russians to attack Kyiv. At night, Kyiv was on air alert due to the launch of attack drones and a threat of missiles launching.

A memorial plaque was unveiled in Kyiv to honour the memory of Yevhen Osipkov (call sign Director). The serviceman was killed by russians on 3 August 2023  towards Bakhmut. The plaque was installed on the facade of the house where the hero lived.

Other memorial plaques have also been unveiled in Kyiv oblast: for soldiers Anatolii Shchur and Oleksandr Blahodatnyi, who lived in the Kvartal residential complex in Bucha; National Guard soldier Andrii Baliaba, call sign Bucha; Roman Khomenko and Serhii Dzhenzhera in Tetiivska community in the village of Kliuki.

The press service of Kyiv City Military Administration informed that a training course on providing emergency assistance to animals in emergency situations was held in Kyiv. Specialists of Kyiv Rescue Service and Kyiv City Veterinary Hospital held joint training sessions to ensure preparedness for various critical circumstances.

Viktor Hurok, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Kyiv oblast, was killed by russians towards Pokrovsk of the front at the age of 47. He was killed on 26 May 2024 as a result of artillery shelling.

The press service of Bucha City Council reported that a delegation from the municipalities of the Netherlands – The Hague, Reden, Oudervater and Utrecht – visited Bucha. The guests visited landmarks to document russia’s crimes. In particular, the visit included a memorial to the 509 dead residents of Bucha, the Alley of Heroes and the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called, which stores photographic evidence of the russian occupation.

The 72nd Separate Mechanised Brigade named after the Black Cossacks received 6 MAN trucks from Kyiv oblast. Ruslan Kravchenko, Head of Kyiv Regional  Military Administration, announced that the administration, districts and communities of Kyiv oblast will continue to purchase cars, drones, trucks and electronic warfare devices for the military.

Katiuzhanska basic lyceum in Vyshhorod region will be renovated at the expense of UNITED24. The building was damaged in 2022 and repairs began in February 2024. The facade has been insulated and decorated, and the repairs are 85% complete. A total of 244 schools and kindergartens have been damaged or destroyed in Kyiv oblast as a result of russian military aggression.

According to Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the Ivasyk-Telesyk kindergarten in  Kozintsi village, Irpin community in Kyiv oblast, will be equipped with a shelter at the expense of the Lithuanian government. The building, damaged in 2022, was restored at the expense of the community. The Central Project Management Agency of the Republic of Lithuania helped to restore the 350 m² anti-radiation shelter with three evacuation exits, a sports room, a sleeping room, a playroom, a first aid post, food and water storage and dining rooms and bathrooms. 

According to Bucha City Council’s report, an above-ground shelter for 100 people is being built at the Sports Academy in Bucha, Kyiv oblast. The space is inclusive and has ramps for people with disabilities. The city council also reported on the construction of a similar shelter in Bucha city park. Both projects are being built in cooperation with the people of Taiwan. In total, nearly 900 shelters in educational institutions were repaired in Kyiv in 2022-2023, and another hundred are planned for this year. 

Zhytomyr oblast

In Zhytomyr RMA, a group on the conscription organisation for military service discussed improving coordination and ensuring successful mobilisation in the oblast.

Martyn Yakub, a writer and volunteer from Zhytomyr, signed a contract with the Armed Forces. On 14 March 2023, he opened the Living Executed exhibition at Zhytomyr Regional Literary Museum, which featured AI-generated photos of the Executed Renaissance writers.

At the concert of the Music Lab municipal orchestra in Zhytomyr’s Shoduarivskyi Park, musicians set up charity boxes so that listeners could make donations to support the Ukrainian military. 

Oleksandr Maiorov from the village of Velyka Fosnia was killed on 15 June 2024 towards Zaporizhzhia. He joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces after completing his military service.

Mykola Trihubchuk from the village of Movchanivka, Berdychiv region, was killed on 5 June 2024 in the Donetsk oblast. The body was evacuated on 16 June 2024.

Three spaces have been opened in Zhytomyr oblast to provide qualified psychological assistance through online counselling. The services include help with PTSD, depression, panic attacks, etc., and are provided to all community residents, including internally displaced persons, people with disabilities, victims of violence and other vulnerable groups.

Sumy oblast

At night and in the morning of 20 June, russians attacked the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast five times. 32 explosions were recorded. During the day on 19 June, russians fired 22 times at the border areas and settlements of Sumy oblast. 96 explosions were recorded. 

The North Joint Task Force reported that in Seredyna-Buda, one private house was damaged by mortar fire.

A Resilience Centre has been set up in Sumy. Within the pilot project of a comprehensive social service to build resilience, Sumy residents are offered the opportunity to learn relevant skills. Among other things, support groups for military personnel, veterans and their families work in the centre. They provide assistance in adapting to civilian life and overcoming combat trauma. Internally displaced persons are helped to overcome stress, adapt to a new place of residence, and are assisted in finding housing, employment, social and medical services.

Veterans and their families are being recruited for free IT training. Military personnel and their families can take a free course on Database Fundamentals, a joint project of the Ukrainian Veterans Fund, Lobby X, and IT company SoftServe.

Sumy and Poltava City Councils signed a Partnership and Mutual Support Agreement. The agreement foresees measures to ensure the evacuation of residents of Sumy, executive bodies of the city council, its institutions and establishments to the territory of Poltava in the case of emergency.

In Sumy, soldier Serhii Shevchenko was commemorated. He was killed during the fight in Torske village of Lyman community of Donetsk oblast.

Chernihiv oblast

Halyna Shekhovtsova, Spokeswoman for the Chernihiv border guard detachment, reported that on 19 June, russians attacked five border villages in Chernihiv oblast. The military recorded 27 explosions. A man was wounded in Kostobobriv village of Semenivka community and taken to hospital.

  • Novhorod-Siverskyi community – 12 explosions (probably from a 120mm mortar) in the direction of Hremiach and Krasny Khutir villages.
  • Semenivka community – 15 explosions (probably from a 120mm mortar, cannon artillery and UAVs dropped explosives) were in the direction of Kostobobrov, Karpovychi, Medvedivka villages.

A man born in 1968 was wounded in Kostobobrov, he was taken to Semenivka Central District Hospital with shrapnel wounds to both legs. His condition is stable.

Referring to Chernihiv Regional Training Centre and JV In Chernihiv oblast, on 20 June, four servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received the final commemoration: Yurii Hrybovskyi, Yaroslav Koreniak, Andrii Melnyk and Ihor Apryshko.

In Yahidne village of Chernihiv oblast, restoration of residential buildings damaged by active hostilities stopped in early 2024. According to Olena Shvydka, Head of Ivanivka community, there is still not a single building that is 100% complete. 

Today, a school in Bakhmach community held a national multi-subject examination in a multifunctional shelter. Thanks to the support of donors (repairs by the GER Foundation, furnishing and equipment by the Istok NGO), the shelter has been functioning for almost a year. It can simultaneously accommodate up to 400 participants in the educational process, and there are now almost twice as many. It has a modern air ioniser, a lift, a bathroom for people with disabilities and an eco-flow. 

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that Ukrainian defenders shot down 5 enemy shaheds and 4 rockets in Nikopol, Kryvyi Rih and Synelnykove regions, Dnipropetrovsk oblast. There are consequences of the attacks in Kryvyi Rih and Nikopol regions. Men aged 30, 41 and 63 were injured. Two of them were hospitalised in moderate condition. In Nikopol region, 7 private houses, 5 outbuildings, cars and power lines were hit.

The occupiers attacked Nikopol region about a dozen times during the day. They used kamikaze drones, artillery and dropped ammunition. The shelling targeted Nikopol itself, Marhanets, Myrove and Pokrovsk communities. 7 private houses, 3 outbuildings were damaged, another one was destroyed, an infrastructure facility, 2 power lines, the same number of gas pipelines, and solar panels were hit.

Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that three modern powerful 3-phase Riello Delta generators with a capacity of 100, 100 and 200 kW were transferred from Dnipropetrovsk oblast to the military from Vostok military industrial complex. 

Vinnytsia oblast

Serhii Borzov, Head of the RMA, reported that ​​a critical infrastructure facility in Vinnytsia oblast was hit by a nighttime attack by the russian army. 

Vinnytsia Mayor Serhii Morhunov reported that ten Mavic 3Ts, five thermal imagers and five thousand dry showers were delivered from Vinnytsia oblast to Vinnytsia police officers. 

Poltava oblast

Mykola Oleshchuk, Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that air defence forces were working in Poltava oblast at night. 

Cherkasy oblast

Ihor Taburets, Head of Cherkasy  RMA, reported that defenders destroyed three enemy UAVs over Zvenyhorod region at night in Cherkasy oblast. 

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Ivan Fedorov, Head of Zaporizhzhia RMA, reported that on 19 June, russian forces carried out 360 strikes by various types of weapons on 8 towns and villages in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The enemy shelling destroyed 9 civilian houses.

The enemy launched 3 airstrikes on Novoandriivka and launched 8 MLRS attacks on Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Huliaipole and Novoandriivka. The enemy also continued massive drone attacks. Huliaipole, Levadne, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka and Novoandriivka were attacked 136 times by russian drones.

The occupying forces shelled 8 specific points in the oblast by artillery. They launched 213 artillery strikes on Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Levadne, Malynivka and Mali Shcherbaky.

Based on the information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, in Huliaipole, the occupiers targeted an evacuation police vehicle by an FPV drone. The Kamikaze drone struck very close to the armoured evacuation vehicle. Besides the police crew, there was a 61-year-old woman in the vehicle who had decided to move to a safer place. The armoured vehicle saved their lives. One of the police officers sustained a concussion.

According to Zaporizhzhia RMA, construction of Zaporizhzhia’s first underground school has started, which will be part of the local Sich Collegium. Overall, 10 such facilities are planned to be built in the oblast by the end of the year, 5 of which will be in the regional centre.

Mykolaiv oblast

Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv RMA, reported that Ukrainian forces shot down 3 enemy Shahed drones over Mykolaiv oblast, while russian forces shelled Kutsurub community 5 times by artillery.

At 12:45pm on 19 June, the enemy shelled Dniprovske village of Kutsurub community by artillery, damaging 6 residential buildings and a medical and obstetric station. There was also a grass fire on the grounds of private houses, but firefighters quickly extinguished it. There were no casualties reported.

The enemy shelled Kutsurub community 4 more times by artillery on 20 June, at 1:04am, 1:09am, 1:15am and 3:46am. There were no casualties reported.

Also, at 9:57am, Mykolaiv oblast came under missile attack. The enemy missile debris fell in an open area outside the settlements.

Odesa oblast

Mayor of Odesa Hennadii Trukhanov informed that on 19 June, the aggressor country attacked Odesa oblast. The shelling was carried out with Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea. As a result of the strike, recreational infrastructure was damaged and a dry grass fire broke out in an open area, which was extinguished. There were no casualties reported.

According to Odesa City Council, a round table discussion on the Strategy for the Recovery and Development of Odesa Oblast took place in Odesa. The event brought together representatives of local authorities, non-governmental organisations, and international funds to discuss ways to ensure sustainable development and economic growth amidst the full-scale war.

Kherson oblast

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson RMA, reported that on 19 June, the occupiers shelled 26 settlements in Kherson oblast. Antonivka, Romashkove, Bilozirka, Prydniprovske, Veletenske, Oleksandrivka, Ivanivka, Novotiahynka, Beryslav, Chervonyi Maiak, Olhivka, Mykhailivka, Zmiivka, Respublikanets, Zolota Balka, Lvove, Odradokamianka, Havrylivka, Trudoliubivka, Novomykolaivka, Potomkyne, Shliakhove, Mala Oleksandrivka, Novodmytrivka, Mykolaivka and Kherson were targeted to enemy fire and airstrikes.

The russian forces attacked residential areas in the oblast, damaging 2 high-rise buildings, 14 private houses, a shopping centre, an elevator, a farm and a gas pipeline. 

Beryslav city and Odradokamianka village were attacked by russian UAVs, damaging a critical infrastructure facility. As a result of the enemy shelling of Olhivka village, a 67-year-old woman was injured, and a 58-year-old man sought medical assistance. 

Roman Mrochko, Head of Kherson CMA, said that on 20 June, russian military struck Kherson, damaging energy equipment. This caused power and water supply issues in the city. Also, the occupiers shelled one of the city’s cemeteries, destroying more than a dozen graves.

russian war criminals shelled a civilian car in Tekstylne village of Kherson oblast, killing a 43-year-old man who sustained fatal injuries.

According to Kherson RMA, from 12 to 19 June, sappers on the de-occupied territory of Kherson oblast discovered and neutralised 1,448 explosive devices. Explosive technicians also surveyed 158.4 hectares of land, 3,879.1 hectares of fields, 1.3km of power lines and 391 objects on the right bank of Kherson oblast.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Residents of Lutsk conducted the last journey of military serviceman Ihor Prystup, who was killed defending Ukraine from russian invaders. The hero was mourned in the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Ihor Prystupa (born on 29 December, 1978) is a well-known volunteer and activist of the Plast Ukrainian scouting organisation. After the start of a full-scale invasion, he was called up for military service as part of a military unit as the chief sergeant of a company of unmanned attack aircraft complexes. Sergeant Ihor Prystupa was killed on 15 June, 2024 while performing a combat mission to protect the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine in the area of ​​Skuchne settlement, Donetsk oblast.

Zakarpattia oblast

Viktor Mykyta, Head of the RMA, has a working trip in Budapest. On the agenda is a meeting with Hungarian colleagues, discussion of issues of bilateral cooperation in economic, infrastructural, humanitarian and social spheres, etc.

The Regional Council held a meeting with Peyty Marton, Deputy Head of the Institute of National Strategic Studies, and representatives of the Consulate General of Hungary in the city of Uzhhorod. Joint participation in the HU-SK-RO-UA cross-border cooperation program was discussed with the Hungarian delegation.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Prykarpattiaoblenerho reported that on 18 June, about 50 employees of the company became blood donors for military personnel.

Lviv oblast

Implementation of 8 projects financed by the European Investment Bank began in Lviv oblast. The list includes renovation of hospitals, reconstruction of kindergartens and construction of educational institutions. This year, UAH 426.6m is planned for the implementation of projects.

In Lviv oblast, the 1st fully Ukrainian grain trucks began to be manufactured. They allow grain and other food bulk cargo to be transported along main railway tracks, as well as along the roads of industrial enterprises.

In Yavoriv region, memorial plaques to 9 fallen heroes of the russian-Ukrainian war were installed. Father Vasyl, abbot of the Church of St. Nicholas, consecrated the memorial place. Relatives of fallen soldiers, representatives of the authorities and clergy and residents of the community joined the event. Those present honoured the memory with a prayer and a moment of silence.

Open rugby training for military veterans took place in Lviv oblast. Military veterans undergoing rehabilitation at Unbroken centre took part in the training. In total, it has already been possible to hold over 70 events from 15 sports that are adapted to the capabilities of people with various types of impairments, and over 200 veterans with disabilities and military personnel undergoing recovery and rehabilitation in Lviv oblast institutions have already become participants in the League of the Invincibles.

Rivne oblast

The 8th evacuation train from Donetsk oblast, with 40 people, including 18 children and 3 people with disabilities, arrived in Rivne region. At the station, the evacuees received first aid and provided payments. They were placed in Buhrynska and Hoshchanska communities of Rivne region. In the previous seven trains, 234 people came to the oblast.

A Veterans Training Centre will soon appear in Rivne oblast. The RMA and the International Agency for Professional Qualifications signed the relevant Memorandum on its creation. The centre will train servicemen who have returned from the war and members of their families. And also officials who work with them. It is about those people who better understand and hear the military. The key goal of the institution is to train assistants of veterans according to the principle of equal to equal.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA held a meeting with families of missing defenders of Ukraine. Most of the questions related to payments, obtaining certificates, searching for missing servicemen, the procedure for receiving a report of disappearance and the process of negotiations with the enemy.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

A 100kW solar power plant was installed on the roof of 3 hospitals in Khmelnytskyi. Initially, the received electricity was directed to ensure the operation of medical facilities. Later, the surplus began to be sold to the network. The power plant was built with the funds of Khmelnytskyi City Medical and Diagnostic Center. About UAH 4m were spent on this. According to preliminary calculations, the station will pay for itself within 4,5 years.

Chernivtsi oblast

The RMA signed a grant agreement for $5,5m regarding the renovation of communal buildings for the residence of IDPs. The grant agreement was concluded with the International Finance Corporation, which is part of the World Bank Group.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

EU countries agreed on the 14th package of sanctions against the russian federation, including a ban on the transshipment of russian LNG and a plan to hold EU operators responsible for sanctions violations by subsidiaries and partners in 3rd countries. This package provides targeted new measures and maximises the impact of existing sanctions by closing loopholes.

Ukraine and the EU agreed on the text of the agreement on security guarantees. The Office of the President emphasises that Kyiv will sign a bilateral security agreement with the EU to implement the Joint Declaration on Support for Ukraine, which the EU and G7 countries approved in Vilnius on 12 July, 2023.

Jake Sullivan, White House National Security Adviser, announced that F-16 aircraft from the US will be stationed on the territory of Ukraine. He also emphasised that in the event of a threat, Ukraine can use the provided air defence systems, in particular those provided by the United States, to destroy russian aircraft. We are even talking about planes that are in the airspace of the russian federation.

Andrii Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, held a phone conversation with Ajit Kumar Doval, National Security Adviser of the Prime Minister of the Republic of India. They discussed further steps in cooperation in the context of the accession of new countries to the Joint Communique on the foundations of peace, which was adopted during the Summit.

Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, met with Sonia Hyland, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ireland. They discussed the results of the inaugural Peace Summit and pledged to work together to increase the number of countries in support of the Joint Communique on the Foundations of Peace, and also agreed on next steps for the implementation of further international measures in this context.

13 oblasts will receive 78 16 kW generators thanks to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank. In addition, 887 modern laptops were purchased for working with the electronic health care system. They will soon be received by primary care medical institutions in all Ukraine.
