Artillery shellings of border areas continue. Today, in Sumy oblast, the settlements of Korenok, Sopych, Bachivsk, Ryzhivka, Neskuchne, Yastrubshchyna, Hirky, Volfyne, Havrylova Sloboda, and Kucherivka came under fire. The settlement of Luzhky was hit by an enemy airstrike.
- Towards Northern Sloboda and Kursk: Two combat engagements took place. The enemy carried out 39 shellings of settlements and positions of Ukrainian troops, including five involving the use of MLRS.
- Towards Southern Sloboda: The invaders made three attempts to break through the defense near Starytsia, and Izbytske and Vilcha. Two combat engagements are ongoing.
- Towards Kupiansk: The enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces twice in the direction of Podoly and Novoplatonivka.
- Towards Lyman: Ukrainian warriors repelled 14 attempts by the invaders to advance near the settlements of Novoselivka, Zarichne, and Yampil, and Stavky, Drobysheve, and Lyman.
- Towards Sloviansk: The Defense Forces successfully halted 18 attempts by the invaders to push forward near Zakitne, Kalenyky, and Riznykivka, and Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kryva Luka.
- Towards Kramatorsk: The enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces once near Chasiv Yar.
- Towards Kostiantynivka: Ukrainian defenders repelled nine attacks near the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Pleshchiivka. Two combat engagements are ongoing.
- Towards Pokrovsk: Since the beginning of the day, the occupiers attempted 14 times to dislodge Ukrainian warriors from their positions. Twelve attacks were repelled near the settlements of Shakhove, Dorozhne, Novoselivka, Vasylivka, Rodynske, Udachne, and Filiia, and Vilne, Bilytske, Novyi Donbas, and Biliakivka.
- Towards Oleksandrivka: The enemy conducted one offensive operation in the direction of Nove Zaporizhzhia. The combat engagement is still ongoing.
- Towards Huliaipole: The Defense Forces repelled 17 enemy attacks near Dobropillia, and Vozdvyzhivka, Hirke, Novoselivka, Tsvitkove, and Charivne. Four combat engagements are still ongoing.
- Towards Orikhiv and Kherson: No enemy attempts to advance have been recorded.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine
Kharkiv oblast
Over the past day, there were 241 combat engagements along the front line.
- Towards Southern Sloboda: The enemy attacked the positions of Ukrainian units 15 times, pushing toward Karaichne, Zybine, Lyman, Starytsia, Symynivka, Okhrimivka, Artilne, and Khatnie.
- Towards Kupiansk: The enemy launched three attacks in the direction of Novoplatonivka.
Ihor Terekhov, Mayor of Kharkiv, reports that one person was injured when a Russian UAV hit a gas station in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv. Residential buildings did not sustain any damage.
In Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv, a 59-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction following a russian drone strike. The drone struck the facade of a multi-story residential building at the 10th-floor level, blowing out windows.
The press service of Izium City Military Administration reports that the Russian army destroyed about half a hectare of corn crops near Bryhadyrivка, Izium community.
At around 02:45 on 28 June, russian forces struck an open area with a guided aerial bomb (KAB). In addition to the ruined crops, the strike severed high-voltage power lines and damaged windows and roofs on several residential properties. According to preliminary data from Izium MRA, no civilian injuries were reported.

In the early hours of 28 June, russian drones attacked two gas stations in the Natalyne community of Berestyn region. A 68-year-old truck driver sustained injuries and was hospitalized.
Anna Hontar, Spokesperson for Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, reports that a 63-year-old woman sustained wounds to her abdomen and left thigh during a Russian attack on the village of Doroshenкове, Kupiansk region, at dawn on 28 June. Another woman and two men suffered an acute stress reaction.
Over the past day, the city of Kharkiv and 17 settlements in the region came under enemy fire. As a result of the shellings, seven people were injured:
- Doroshenкове (Velykyi Burluk community): Women aged 63 and 53, and men aged 61 and 85, were affected by the strike.
- Derhachi: A 41-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man sustained injuries.
- Ulianivka (Natalyne community): A 68-year-old man was injured.
Additionally, medical personnel provided assistance to a 75-year-old woman who had been injured on 25 June during the shelling of the village of Novoosynove, Kurylivka community.
To attack Kharkiv oblast, russian troops deployed:
- 6 missiles (type is being established)
- 4 guided aerial bombs (KAB)
- 9 “Geran-2” type UAVs
- 6 “Molniya” type UAVs
- 4 FPV drones
- 31 drones of an unestablished type
The strikes damaged and destroyed civilian infrastructure across several regions:
- Kharkiv: A civilian enterprise was struck.
- Bohodukhiv region: A gas station, an administrative building, a dormitory, an apartment building, private houses, outbuildings, garages, and power lines were damaged.
- Izium region: A private house sustained damage.
- Kharkiv region: A gas station, private houses, civilian vehicles, and an emergency medical service vehicle were damaged.
- Chuhuiv region: A grain threshing floor, a tractor, a bus, cars, and a civilian enterprise were damaged.
- Berestyn region: Railway infrastructure and three gas stations sustained damage.
The transit evacuation point in Lozova accommodated 239 people over the past day. In total, 42,807 people have been registered there since it began operating.
Donetsk oblast
Over the past day, the russian army launched 22 assaults on the positions of the Defense Forces near Kostiantynivka. The occupiers attacked near Illinivka, Stepanivka, Toretske, and Ivanopillia.
Ukrainian military repelled another 24 assaults near Pokrovsk and 22 attacks near Slovyansk.
Taras Myshak, Spokesperson for the 59th Separate Assault Drone Brigade, reports that Russian troops continue to expand their drone kill zone and attack the logistics of the Defense Forces near Pokrovsk. According to him, the occupiers are launching assaults with infantry, which Ukrainian military forces attempt to destroy on the approaches to their positions.
The 25th Separate Airborne Brigade reports that Ukrainian paratroopers have begun deploying Hornet medium-range strike drones to target the Russian army’s logistics along the sector from Pokrovsk to temporarily occupied Donetsk. At least 20 units of Russian equipment have already been hit.
Throughout 27 June, the police recorded 1,100 shellings along the front line and the residential sector. Thirteen settlements came under fire, including Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Slovyansk, Oleksievo-Druzhkivka, Raihorodok, Donetske, Spasko-Mykhailivka, and Shostakivka.

Twenty-one civilian objects were damaged, including 10 residential buildings.
- Kramatorsk: The russians launched strikes using four FAB-250 guided aerial bombs and three drones. Two civilians were injured. Four apartment buildings, a municipal enterprise, two non-residential premises, and a car were damaged.
- Sloviansk: The city was attacked twice, including with a “Molniya-2” UAV. One person was injured, while two private houses and an outbuilding were damaged.
- Druzhkivka: The Russians dropped a FAB-250 guided aerial bomb, damaging an apartment building and an educational institution.
- Raihorodok: An apartment building was damaged as a result of an FPV drone attack.
- Donetske: Two apartment buildings were damaged.
- Spasko-Mykhailivka: A truck was damaged.
Andrii Kravets, a serviceman from Mariupol, has returned from russian captivity. He stepped up to defend the city in 2022 and spent over four years in russian confinement.

The “Proliska” humanitarian mission has evacuated a large family with children from Kramatorsk region. They were transported along with their belongings to Kirovohrad oblast. According to Yevhen Tkachov, a representative of the mission, up to 10 evacuation requests are received daily, with priority given to families with children and individuals requiring medical evacuation.
Luhansk oblast
Luhansk Oblast Military Administration reports that over the past day, russian troops shelled the positions of Ukrainian defenders in Luhansk oblast three times using tube artillery. They also used automatic grenade launchers three times, and mortars and MLRS five times. The occupiers carried out 24 drone drops and directed nine FPV drones at Ukrainian positions.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that towards Lyman, the russian army launched 16 assaults near five settlements.
A shortage of medicines persists in both medical facilities and pharmacies across the so-called “lpr.” Due to reduced shipments to occupied Luhansk oblast, obtaining even a basic prescription for free medication has become a challenge. In the Novoaidar area, a woman with a disability managed to secure her essential medication only six months after appealing to Russian security forces.
Residents of occupied Sievierodonetsk continue to complain about the poor quality of superficial repairs. In one apartment building located in the new districts of the city, the occupation authorities merely painted the facade, while the load-bearing walls are cracking and the building’s structural integrity approaches critical condition.
What is happening now in the north of Ukraine
Kyiv oblast
On the night of June 28, the Russian army attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles. As a result of the attack, two people were injured, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported.
According to the State Emergency Service (DSNS), in the Darnytskyi district, a garage complex and vehicles in an open area caught fire over a total area of 300 square meters. The fire was extinguished.
After the nighttime attack in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district, explosives experts recovered the warhead of a missile that had become embedded in the ground directly near a residential building, the DSNS reported. Residents of the multi-story building were evacuated. The dangerous object was excavated and transported to a training ground for further disposal.

During the Russian missile attack on Kyiv on the night of June 28, the building of the pharmaceutical company “Darnytsia” was damaged. There were no fatalities or injuries among employees, said Kateryna Zahorii, Chair of the Board of Directors of “Darnytsia.” Details regarding the nature of the damage or consequences are not being disclosed for security reasons. The plant will continue its operations.
A charity run was held in Kyiv in memory of Oleksii “Recruit” Chubashev, a military journalist and major of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense. He was killed on June 10, 2022, during the battles for Sievierodonetsk. All funds raised from participation fees in the run will be directed to the needs of the Defense Forces.
Zhytomyr oblast
In Zhytomyr on June 27, families of prisoners of war and missing servicemen held a reminder rally titled “Don’t Stay Silent – Captivity Kills.” The event was dedicated to Constitution Day, aiming to remind society that Ukrainian prisoners in Russian captivity are deprived of all human and civic rights, and that joint efforts are needed to bring them home as soon as possible.
Sumy oblast
According to Air-alarms.in.ua, an independent Ukrainian analytical project that tracks air raid alerts, explosion reports and artillery strike warnings, Sumy oblast ranked second among Ukraine’s regions for the number of air raid alerts over the past 30 days. At least 197 air raid alerts were recorded in the oblast during the past month. Since the beginning of 2026, at least 989 air raid alerts have been issued in Sumy oblast, and since the start of the full-scale invasion, the total has reached 5,816.
The State Emergency Service reported on the morning of 28 June that Sumy had once again withstood a series of enemy attacks. The enemy struck the city by guided aerial bombs, causing extensive damage to industrial and warehouse facilities. A strike UAV then hit the roof of a residential building, triggering a fire. A woman was injured in the attack.

The Regional Military Administration informed that on the evening of 27 June, russians struck civilian infrastructure in Sumy and Vorozhba communities by guided aerial bombs. Two guided aerial bombs hit an area containing industrial and warehouse facilities in Kovpakivskyi district of Sumy. Enemy forces also launched three guided aerial bombs at Vorozhba community. At least four private households were damaged.
From the morning of 27 June to the morning of 28 June, russian forces carried out more than 90 attacks on 33 settlements across 19 territorial communities of the oblast. The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka regions. The enemy used mortars, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs. Air raid alerts in the oblast lasted for 21 hours and 45 minutes during the reporting period.
The Regional Military Administration reported that, as of the morning of 28 June, 25 people had been injured in enemy attacks across Sumy oblast over the previous 24 hours. Destruction and damage to private homes, vehicles and civilian infrastructure facilities were also recorded:
▪️ In Sumy community, 23 people, including three children, sustained wounds and injuries in enemy UAV strikes. An apartment building, private residential houses, vehicles, non-residential premises, civilian infrastructure facilities and road surfaces were damaged;
▪️ In Bilopollia community, a 48-year-old man was wounded in an enemy drone strike. Private residential houses were damaged;
▪️ In Velyka Pysarivka community, a 36-year-old man was wounded in an enemy drone strike. An outbuilding was damaged;
▪️ In Trostianets community, private households were damaged;
▪️ In Yampil community, civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
▪️ In Shostka community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged;
▪️ In Boromlia community, a private residential house was damaged;
▪️ In Seredyna-Buda community, private residential houses and non-residential buildings were destroyed, while a private residential house and civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
▪️ In Mykolaivka rural community, a private residential house was damaged;
▪️ In Znob-Novhorodske community, civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged;
▪️ In Vorozhba community, private households were damaged;
▪️ In Hlukhivka community, an apartment building, residential and non-residential premises, and a civilian infrastructure facility were damaged.
Chernihiv oblast
Oleksandr Seliverstov, Head of Novhorod-Siverskyi Regional Military Administration, reported that during the day on 28 June, russian forces attacked a filling station in Novhorod-Siverskyi by a drone. A 33-year-old employee who was at work at the time sustained injuries.
Oleksandr Seliverstov also said that at 12:08am. on 28 June, the enemy struck civilian infrastructure in Semenivka by a Heran-type UAV.
The National Police and the Regional Military Administration informed that on the evening of 27 June, russian forces launched a mass drone attack on Chernihiv that lasted for at least one hour. Three people were injured after UAVs fell. A 72-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman were hospitalised with shrapnel wounds. Drone debris fell onto the grounds of a general secondary school. In addition, attacks on civilian facilities damaged five residential houses, a garage and a vehicle.
According to Oleksandr Seliverstov, at around 8 pm. on 27 June, russian forces again attacked Novhorod-Siverskyi. The enemy struck civilian infrastructure by a Molniya UAV.
The National Police reported that on 27 June, russian forces struck a residential house in Horodnia by a drone. Police officers evacuated an elderly woman from the house.
Viacheslav Chaus, Head of the Regional Military Administration, said that russian forces attacked Chernihiv oblast between 27 and 28 June. Among the targets were a private residential house and an enterprise in Koriukivka community, as well as a filling station in Ripky community. Enemy forces also attacked energy infrastructure facilities across the oblast.

According to Chernihiv Border Guard Detachment, on 27 June, russian forces attacked three border communities in Chernihiv oblast: Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka and Snovsk. The enemy carried out artillery strikes (25 explosions), FPV drone attacks (10 explosions), and dropped explosive devices from UAVs (4 explosions). Seven settlements came under enemy fire.

Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Dnipropetrovsk oblast
Mykola Lukashuk, Head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Council, reported that during the night, the enemy targeted filling stations. Casualties were reported in two districts. One person was injured in a UAV attack on Pidhorodne community. A filling station caught fire.
Another person was injured in a UAV strike on Hubynykha community. Fires broke out. Two filling stations and two vehicles were damaged.
The occupiers also attacked the regional centre, Chervonohryhorivka, Pokrovske rural and Marhanets communities by drones and multiple launch rocket systems. A sports school caught fire. In Marhanets, two men were injured. The occupiers attacked the region by drones and artillery, targeting Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka, Pokrovske rural, Myrove and Marhanets communities. Fires broke out. Two apartment buildings, 10 private residential houses, an outbuilding, an enterprise, three vehicles, gas pipelines and infrastructure were damaged. Infrastructure was damaged in a UAV attack on Piatykhatky community.
The enemy also struck Pokrovske community by guided aerial bombs. A private residential house caught fire.
Vinnytsia oblast
In Vinnytsia, participants observed the national minute of silence to honour the memory of State Border Guard Service serviceman Edem Aliiev, call sign “Malyi”, a 19-year-old fighter of the 15th Mobile Border Guard Detachment “Steel Border”. He was killed on 28 June 2023 near Berkhivka village in Bakhmut community.
Kirovohrad oblast
In Novomyrhorod community, Kirovohrad oblast, residents paid tribute to serviceman Oleksandr Bocharov, who was killed in the war against russia. He had been listed as missing for nearly two years. In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by his parents, who remain under occupation.
Poltava oblast
Poltava Regional Military Administration reported that during the day, the enemy attacked an enterprise in Poltava region by a UAV.
Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine
Zaporizhzhia oblast
A 94-year-old and a 68-year-old woman, as well as a 68-year-old man, were injured as a result of a Russian guided aerial bomb strike on the Zaporizhzhia district, reported the head of the Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov. Russian forces struck the Shevchenkivskyi area with a guided aerial bomb. A private house was destroyed, a car was burned, and a fire broke out.
Two people were killed; one of the victims is a 53-year-old woman. Seventeen people were injured as a result of the Russian airstrike on Zaporizhzhia, according to Ivan Fedorov. Among the wounded are two children, and a five-year-old boy is in critical condition.

Over the past day, on June 27, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 31 Russian assaults on the Huliaipole and Orikhiv directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported. In particular, clashes took place in the directions of Zaliznychne, Vozdvyzhivka, Hirke, Staroukrainka, Charyvne, and Lukianivske.
Over 850 strikes on 41 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region were carried out by Russian forces over the same period, said the head of the Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov. The occupiers most frequently used drones (mainly FPV drones).
Mykolaiv oblast
On June 27, the Russian army attacked the region with drones. As a result, a warehouse and several buildings in a recreational area in the Mykolaiv district were damaged, the Regional Military Administration reported. No casualties were reported.
Russian forces also twice attacked the Kutsurub and Halytsynove communities with FPV drones. As a result of the shelling in the village of Lupareve, a private house was damaged.
Kherson oblast
Around 11:30, Russian forces attacked a man with a drone in the Central district of Kherson, the Regional Military Administration reported. As a result of the strike, a 43-year-old resident of Kherson sustained an explosive injury and a concussion.
Around 09:40, Russian forces attacked a public transport stop in the city center of Kherson with a drone, the Kherson Regional Military Administration reported. As a result of the attack, a 62-year-old man suffered shrapnel wounds to the leg, a concussion, and an explosive injury.
Yesterday afternoon, a man was injured in a Russian drone strike on a vehicle in Bilozerka, the administration reported. The 38-year-old municipal employee was diagnosed with an explosive injury and a concussion.

Volyn oblast
Boratyn community will say goodbye to Ruslan Antonyuk, resident of the village of Horodyshche. The hero was killed in Luhansk oblast on 7 December 2024.
Zakarpattia oblast
Uzhhorod City Council reported that since the beginning of 2026, UAH 66m has already been allocated from the city budget to support the Defense and Security Forces.
Ivano-Frankivsk oblast
The RMA reported that the oblast is home to over 109,000 internally displaced people, of whom 6,400 are residents of Kherson oblast.
Lviv oblast
In Strii, veterans with disabilities of groups I–II as a result of the war and families of fallen soldiers were presented with 35 certificates for receiving monetary compensation for the purchase of housing.
Rivne oblast
For the 1st time in Ukraine, international training on the use of unmanned systems of the State Emergency Service was held in Rivne oblast. Over 2 days, over 100 participants practiced real scenarios: work at chemically hazardous facilities, detection of explosive objects and use of ground robotic complexes.
Ternopil oblast
Soldiers of the 44th Brigade received an excavator worth UAH 3m, 2 Matrice 4T quadcopters and 5 charging stations from Ternopil community.
Khmelnytskyi oblast
During the week, 30 internally displaced persons arrived in the oblast by evacuation trains. 23 people were placed in the territory of Khmelnytskyi oblast.
Chernivtsi oblast
Chernivtsi will receive about EUR 5.2m in grant funds for the overhaul of the city’s maternity hospital №2 and the purchase of modern medical equipment. The funding was raised within the framework of the international project Improving Women’s Health in Ukraine.
