It has been the 512nd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

Russian troops conducted a massive missile and air strike on the territory of Ukraine, using 3 sea-launched cruise missiles Kalibr, 5 ground-launched cruise missiles Iskander-K, 4 Kh-22 cruise missiles, 7 Oniks cruise missiles, and 19 strike UAVs of the Shahed type. As a result of the combat operations, the Ukrainian Air Forces and air defense systems of other units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 2 Kalibr cruise missiles, 3 ground-launched cruise missiles Iskander-K, and 13 Shahed strike UAVs.

Additionally, the russian army carried out 40 airstrikes and conducted 46 MLRS attacks. There were civilian casualties, as well as destruction and damage to industrial facilities, residential buildings, and other civilian and administrative infrastructure, have been reported as a result of these russian terrorist attacks.

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile and air strikes.

The russian army continues to concentrate its main efforts towards Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariinka with 20 combat clashes occurred during the day.

The operational situation towards Volyn and Polissia did not change with no significant changes observed. There are no signs of russian forming offensive groupings.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains a military presence. They conducted mortar and artillery shelling on over 20 settlements, including Leonivka in Chernihiv oblast; Seredyna-Buda, Volfyne in Sumy oblast; and Udy, Kozacha Lopan, Starytsia, Vovchansk, and Budarky in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian soldiers are holding the defense steadfastly. They successfully repelled russian attacks southwest of Masyutivka in Kharkiv oblast. Artillery and mortar fire from russian troops targeted Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kamyanka, Krasne Pershe, Kupiansk, Kucherivka, Monachynivka, and Topoli in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Lyman, artillery shelling affected the settlements of Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast, and Torske, Verkhniokamianske, Berestove, Kyslivka, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, under intense russian artillery fire, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled attacks on the southwest outskirts of Klyschivka. Over 10 settlements, including Vasiukivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, and Oleksandro-Shultine in Donetsk Oblast, were affected by russian artillery shelling.

Towards Avdiivka, under heavy russian aviation and artillery fire, Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled russian attacks in the area of Nevelske. The russian army conducted an airstrike in the vicinity of the city of Avdiivka. At the same time, they carried out artillery shelling on more than 10 settlements, including Avdiivka, Karlivka, and Nevelske in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Mariinka, Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold back the advance of russian toops in the areas of Novomykhailivka and Marinka in Donetsk oblast. The russian army shelled over 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Mariinka, and Heorhiivka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the russian army conducted an airstrike in the area of Makarivka and shelled the settlements of Velyka Novosilka, Vuhledar, Blahodatne, and Odradne in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the russian army concentrates its main efforts on preventing the further advancement of Ukrainian troops. They made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost positions in the area north of Pryiutne in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Russian troops conducted an airstrike in the area of Piatyhatky in Zaporizhzhia oblast. Over 25 settlements, including Novodanilivka, Malynivka, Huliaypole, Zaliznychne, Bilohiria, Zaporizhzhia oblast, Poniativka, Chervonyi Mayak, Antonivka, Zymivnyk in Kherson oblast, and the city of Kherson, were affected by artillery shelling.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operations towards Melitopol and Berdiansk. They are consolidating their positions on the achieved frontlines, inflicting fire damage on russian targets with artillery, and conducting counter-battery measures.

The aviation of Ukraine conducted 7 strikes on the areas where russian personnel were concentrated. Additionally, Ukrainian troops destroyed 1 operational-tactical level reconnaissance UAV.

Units of the rocket troops and artillery targeted and hit 6 artillery systems in firing positions and russian electronic warfare stations.


According to the commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Armed Forces of Ukraine advance from 500 meters to 1 kilometer every day. He also noted that the counteroffensive is progressing more difficult, because main forces of the russian army are concentrated around Bakhmut towards Lyman.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov announced that over 20 new models of Ukrainian drones are already in service at the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that yesterday the enemy shelled settlements of Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Kupiansk and Chuhuiv regions with mortars, cannon and rocket artillery and other weapons. Vovchansk was shelled several times. At least 4 private residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged and fires broke out in the city. At least 11 private residential buildings were damaged as a result of shelling of Kupiansk with a Tulip self-propelled mortar.

The enemy also attacked the outskirts of Ivashky and Odnorobivka villages of Bohodukhiv region, Dvorichna, Zapadne and Synkivka settlements of Kupiansk region Kozacha Lopan and Strilecha of Kharkiv region and others.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the RMA, reported that a 40-year-old man was killed as a result of shelling in Vovchansk on the morning of 20 July. The day before, it took almost three hours to extinguish a fire in the border town after russian shelling.

Viacheslav Zadorenko, head of Derhachi City Military Administration, informed that a 62-year-old man was killed in an artillery shelling of Kozacha Lopan. According to him, the shelling was massive, several buildings and infrastructure facilities in downtown were damaged.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Regional Military Administration, said that yesterday pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine examined more than 7 hectares of territory and defused 76 explosive ordnance.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the RMA, said that towards Kupiansk our troops are holding the line and destroying the enemy. The invaders have made no advance.

Donetsk oblast

Donetsk Regional Military Administration reported that towards Volnovakha, Burlatske and Vilne Pole of Komaske community were under attack. Velyka Novosilka community was shelled by russians from Uragan MRLs – 1 person was killed and 1 injured.

Towards Donetsk, 6 buildings were damaged in Hostre of Kurakhove community.

Towards Horlivka, 2 people were injured and 3 buildings damaged in Mykolaivka of Kostiantynivka community. Kostiantynivka was shelled with Smerch MRLs. A building was damaged in Chasiv Yar community. Mykolaivka was under Shahed attack, damaging a building.

Towards Lysychansk, 3 apartment buildings and 3 infrastructure facilities in Siversk, 3 buildings in Pereizne of Zvanivka community were damaged.

Andrii Kovalov, Spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that Ukrainian troops are fighting near Kurdiumivka towards Bakhmut and the invaders are suffering losses. At the same time, the Defence Forces continue to advance north and south of Bakhmut.

Luhansk oblast

According to Luhansk Regional Military Administration, the enemy does not reduce the pressure from the sky, using aircraft ten or more times a day in this frontline. The enemy regularly attacks de-occupied villages. Yesterday Nevske, Novoliubivka and Bilohorivka were targeted. A sufficient number of civilians remain in two of them. Food has been delivered there the other day thanks to volunteers for their help. Despite the danger and complicated logistics, civilians are not left alone, they receive everything they need on a regular basis. Nevske and Bilohorivka were also shelled by russians.

National Resistance Centre reported that the invaders have taken 80 high school students from the territory of the occupied Luhansk oblast to a military academy in Kostroma region of russian federation. Children are undergoing military training.

Luhansk Regional Military Administration informed that in the temporarily occupied territories, parturient mothers are denied payments if they do not have a russian passport. Despite the fact that all newborns, according to occupation legislation, are considered citizens of russian federation, parents cannot receive payments for them. Thus, the enemy is using yet another pressure to force passportisation.

Referring to Luhansk RMA, due to russian migration, the crime rate in the occupied cities is increasing, for instance, residents of Tuva and Buryatia move to Dovzhansk. The number of thefts there has risen rapidly. Most cases are ignored by local “law enforcement”.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Antonella Bassani, World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, and Alfonso Garcia Mora, IFC Vice President for Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, arrived in Kyiv on their first official visit. During the visit, the World Bank representatives will meet with Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and other members of the Ukrainian government. They will also hold discussions with partners from international development institutions, representatives of civil society organisations and the private sector in Ukraine.

USAID Administrator Samantha Power and U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink visited the Mykhailivsko-Rubezhivske outpatient clinic for general practice and family medicine. On its basis, a psychological support office “I care about myself” was created within the framework of the USAID project “Building a Resilient Public Health System” and the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Programme “Are you okay?”.

The press service of Boryspil airport reported that Ryanair executives paid a working visit to Kyiv to discuss resumption of flights after the war. Ryanair plans to quickly resume air travel after the end of the war. The company will launch 75 routes from Europe to Ukraine within eight weeks as Ukrainian airspace is declared safe.

The Department of Municipal Security of the Kyiv City State Administration reported that free classes to train Kyiv residents for national resistance are being held in three districts of the capital. Up to 140 people can train simultaneously at five locations. Experienced instructors conduct theoretical and practical classes where Kyiv residents can learn about the tactical and technical characteristics of modern weapons, mine awareness, combat first aid, marksmanship training at the range and in an interactive laser range.

According to Kyiv City State Administration, on Friday, 12 metro stations will host first aid training for all interested persons. This includes the initial evaluation of the victim’s condition, first aid treatment during catastrophic hemorrhage, airway obstruction, and thermal burns. The training will be conducted by experienced specialists and instructors of the Centre for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine.

The Kyiv Regional Council reported that philanthropists have delivered innovative soft prosthetic hands for early rehabilitation to Kyiv oblast. They will be handed over to military and civilians affected by the war and amputees. 20 soft arm prostheses were purchased at the expense of benefactors from the UK, and the humanitarian aid was brought by representatives of the Ukrainian Medical Mission NGO.

The Museum of History of Kyiv opened an exhibition “Mariupol. Filtration #Live” about filtration measures in the temporarily occupied city. Mykhailo Kohut, the first deputy mayor of Mariupol, the exhibition is meant to draw the world’s attention to what is still happening in our city – the filtration measures do not stop, because the enemy is looking for everything Ukrainian and will continue to do so until they destroy everything.

Zhytomyr oblast

The regional military administration reports a rifle battalion is being formed in Zhytomyr oblast. All motivated citizens will undergo appropriate professional training, during which, in addition to improving their physical condition and morale, servicemen will be able to master skills required to operate different weapon and military equipment.

In the Zhytomyr city budget, 140 million UAH of capital expenditures from improvement programmes will be allocated to “defence programmes”. Mayor Serhiy Sukhomlyn reported that these include shelters, funding for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, subventions, and the purchase of drones. This decision was made at a session of the Zhytomyr City Council.

In Korosten, certain elements, monuments, and memorials will be dismantled and inscriptions symbolising russian imperial policy will be removed. This decision was made at the executive committee of the city council. The list includes 63 facilities, 14 of which are located directly in Korosten, the rest are in the villages of the Korosten community.

Sumy oblast

According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, on 19 July, the russians opened fire 19 times at the border. In total, there were 99 explosions recorded. Yunakivka, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, Miropillia, Mykolaivka, Khotin, Velyka Pysarivka, Esman, and Nova Sloboda communities were shelled.

The enemy opened mortar and artillery fire on the territory of Krasnopillia community and launched 7 unguided missiles from the air. As a result of one of the shelling, 8 residential buildings, 10 outbuildings, a power line, a gas pipeline, garages, cars, and a tractor were damaged. In Myropillia community, a household and outbuildings were damaged and cattle were killed by hostile mortar shelling.

According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, on the night of 20 July, Sumy was attacked by three Shaheds. One was shot down by air defence forces, two hit the building of an out-of-school recreation centre. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out and destruction occurred. A medical worker was injured and treated on the spot. People were not found under the rubble.

At night, russian troops opened fire with barrel artillery on the territory of Esman community. 10 explosions were recorded.

The Sumy City Council reported that on 21 July they plan to hold regular emergency response drills. They will involve the military, police, the State Emergency Service, and the volunteer formations of territorial communities. The Sumy City Council added that during the exercise, they plan to launch an appropriate sound signal and also rehearse population evacuation means. This applies only to participants attending this exercise.

Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that air defence forces destroyed three enemy UAVs over Sumy oblast in the afternoon.

Miskvodokanal received equipment from philanthropists for emergency repairs during the war. UNICEF increases assistance to water utilities in Sumy oblast to ensure people have uninterrupted access to clean water. 

Chernihiv oblast

Over the past 24 hours, the russians opened fire five times in Chernihiv oblast. In total, as of the morning of 20 July, 43 shells from various types of weapons were recorded. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that Semenivka and Novhorod-Siversk communities were shelled.

According to Vyacheslav Chaus, head of Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, at night, the enemy attacked Semenivka with Shahed kamikaze drones. There were hits to residential buildings – residents are being resettled, the number of victims is being clarified.

Novhorod-Siverska community suffered 14 artillery shells, 36 MLRS rockets, 7 mortar bombs, and 3 unguided aerial missiles launched from a helicopter.

The Joint Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the reinforcement of the defence capabilities of the northern territory continues. In Chernihiv oblast alone, more than 40 km of anti-tank trenches have been dug in one direction, and more than 30,000 mine traps have been laid to prevent movement of enemy forces. Also, sections of the state border are planned to be additionally reinforced with non-explosive and explosive barriers that will be a surprise for the enemy.

The court sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment a russian serviceman who tortured and mocked civilians in Chernihiv oblast. The investigation established that a serviceman of the 35th Separate Guards Motorised Rifle Brigade, Ondar Anchi, a native of the Republic of Tyva, was in Vyshneve village, Chernihiv region, in February 2022, where he and other Russian servicemen broke into civilian homes, robbed them, threatened to shoot them, beat them and inflicted physical injuries. In addition, the perpetrator kept one of the prisoners in an unheated warehouse in freezing weather, where he was tortured, and his elderly mother was kept in the cargo compartment of a car by the occupiers.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, mobile mine awareness training class continues to run in Chernihiv oblast. Recently, experts conducted a regular mine awareness training at the Regional Centre for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine for the staff of the institution who may be involved in assisting in the de-occupied territories of Ukraine.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to Head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, the russian army launched 4 attacks on Nikopol region again. Nikopol was hit twice with heavy artillery. The shelling damaged 2 private enterprises, a nine-storey residential building, and a car. In the morning, the community of Myrove was attacked. 4 residential buildings, a private and a municipal enterprise were damaged. Another attack was made on the Marhanets community.

Head of the Dnipropetrovsk RMA Serhii Lysak announced that 11 trucks with bottled water had arrived in the Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih regions. There is still an urgent need for water there due to problems with the centralised supply.  Four trucks were sent to Apostolove from benefactors. Seven more are for Nikopol, Marganets, Chervonohryhorivka, and Pokrovsk communities. This cargo was delivered by the Kyiv Regional Military Administration and the regions of oblast. Each truck is 20 tonnes in weight.

Vinnytsia oblast

Head of the Vinnytsia Regional Council, Viacheslav Sokolovyi reported that doctors performed surgery to remove a stone fragment from the soldier’s heart. 

Head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration Serhii Borzov reported that two more construction teams formed by the territorial communities of Vinnytsia oblast have started operations in the village of Kalynivske in Kherson oblast. 

Poltava oblast

Since the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station was blown up, 210 specialists from Poltava Oblast have taken part in rescue and recovery operations. Specialists from Poltavavodokanal, Poltavaoblenerho, Poltavateploenerho and healthcare workers were sent to restore Kherson oblast. They work in coordination with local administrations.

Cherkasy oblast

The project ” Executed Freedom of Speech” was presented in Cherkasy. Members of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine recorded 102 interviews with journalists who witnessed war crimes committed by the russian military and described the conditions in which they have to work today, as well as about colleagues who were killed while carrying out their work.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that 17 settlements of Zaporizhzhya oblast were shelled by the russian military over the past day,  July 19. A 79-year-old man was killed and three people were wounded. 

Over the past day,  July 19, the russians fired 82 times on the territory of Zaporizhzhia oblast, dropping bombs on Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka and Novodanilivka, fired at the settlements of Pologivskyi and Vasylivskyi regions with artillery and MLRS, and struck the regional centre with S-300 missiles.

Energoatom said that The occupiers’ management of Zaporizhzhia NPP is persuading nuclear workers who refused to sign fake contracts with rosatom to launch the fourth power unit. The plant staff categorically refuses to comply with the criminal order. 

Due to the constant physical and psychological pressure of the occupiers, about 30 licensed personnel of ZNPP left Enerhodar over the past week. They managed to leave for the government-controlled territory of Ukraine.

Mykolaiv oblast

On the night of July 20, at 03:03, russian troops launched a missile attack on a town, hitting and destroying several floors of a three-storey building and igniting a fire. As a result of the attack, 19 people have been reported wounded, and eight of them sought medical assistance. Two of the wounded individuals, including a child, were hospitalized, and sadly, one person lost their life. Rescue and clearing operations are underway in the affected area, as reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

Yesterday, the occupiers also fired on the Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities. Specifically, at 12:09, 14:25, and 15:34, enemy shelling targeted the waters of the Ochakiv community, but there were no casualties reported. Additionally, at 12:30, 14:16, and 15:04, the enemy fired at the settlement of the Kutsurub community, resulting in the destruction of a garage and damage to outbuildings and windows in residential buildings. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and the fire on the territory of a private household and outside the settlement was extinguished. Furthermore, at 15:04, 17:54, 18:26, and today at 07:06, the town of Ochakiv came under hostile fire, with a five-storey building catching fire due to a direct hit. One person was wounded in this incident, and the consequences of the morning shelling are currently being assessed.

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has issued a warning, stating that from 00:00 on July 21, 2023, all vessels sailing in the Black Sea towards russian seaports and Ukrainian seaports located in the territory of Ukraine temporarily occupied by russia may be considered by Ukraine as carrying military cargo, with all the relevant risks. Additionally, shipping in the areas of the North-Eastern Black Sea and the Kerch-Yenikal Strait of Ukraine is prohibited as dangerous, starting from 05:00 on July 20, 2023. The relevant navigational information for mariners has already been published to ensure safety in the region.

Odesa oblast

For the third consecutive night, the enemy launched a powerful missile and drone attack in southern Ukraine. The air defense forces in the Odesa region successfully destroyed 12 Shahed drones and 2 Kalibr missiles. The attack resulted in significant damage to an administrative building and office premises, as well as damage to apartment buildings, an educational institution, a lyceum, a kindergarten, and cars. Tragically, eight people were injured in the attack, including three members of the State Emergency Service, and one boy lost his life. Moreover, the attack caused damage and destruction to the port infrastructure and warehouses of a private enterprise in the Odesa district, as reported by the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

During the attack on Odesa on Thursday, July 20, the building of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China was also damaged. This information was reported by the head of the regional military administration, Oleh Kiper.

The night strike also had severe consequences for the grain export infrastructure of the port of Chornomorsk, with approximately 40% of it being put out of action. The previous night, around 60 tonnes of grain, destined for shipment to China, were destroyed due to the attack. The situation remains critical and continues to have significant impacts on both infrastructure and human lives.

Kherson oblast

In the morning, on July 20, russian troops shelled the village of Dniprovske in the Bilozerska community. The school and houses were destroyed. The roof of a house was also damaged as a result of the shelling of Zolota Balka. There were no casualties. 

On the night of 20 July, the russian army attacked Suvorov district of Kherson. During the day, it shelled the Kherson community 22 times. Damage was recorded in Kherson, Inzhenerne, Molodizhne, Sadove and Antonivka. Humanitarian aid distribution points and residential buildings were damaged. Two people were injured.

Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, reported that on  July 19, the russian army shelled Kherson region 72 times. The shells hit residential areas, a farm in Beryslav district, a garden in Dariivka community and an administrative building in Kherson. Four people were injured. This was reported by the head of the Over the past day, the russian army attacked three communities in Beryslav region. In particular, the villages of Zmiyivka, Dudchany, Lvov and Olhivka. Houses and a farm were damaged. A woman was indjured in Olhivka.

The National Resistance Centre reported that in Hornostayivka, Kherson oblast, occupation police are conducting raids. People are being fingerprinted and forced to write an application for a russian passport. Otherwise, they threaten to deport them to russia.

Kherson Regional Military Administration said that today, on July 20, representatives of the Ukrainian Foundation, together with Michael Stivater,  Manager of DG East Programme andSharon Rosenberg, Activities Director, visited Kherson oblast and handed over the humanitarian aid. It includes 21 generators of different capacities. The generators will be delivered to the settlements with the greatest need.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The RMA reported that aAbout 30 relocated enterprises are working in Volyn.

The military was sent a car, food, shovels, pickaxes, axes, nails, sleeping bags, backpacks, camouflage film and camouflage nets, thanks to the Demianove Dyvo and Vedmezhe Sertse CF.

Zakarpattia oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Vasyl Teteria, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, and Serhii Naumenko, Head of the Aviation and Water Police Department of the National Police. They discussed the formation of a European hub for firefighting and aviation support of civil defense in the oblast for the prospective integration of the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs into the system of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

The RMA held a meeting with the delegation headed by Martin Netolitsky, Hetman of the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic. They discussed projects for the reconstruction of the affected communities of Kherson oblast and the creation of a modern rehabilitation center in Zakarpattia.

Representatives of Yasin community met with Zdeniek Ryhak, Mayor of Ceska Trshebova. Cooperation was discussed.

A military training class was held in Uzhgorod for employees of municipal institutions and organizations of the city. The training was conducted by representatives of the A7080 military unit and instructors of the first department of Uzhgorod District Territorial Center for Staffing and Social Support within the framework of preparing citizens for civil resistance.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Kaluska District Military Administration held a meeting with the International Medical Corps. During the meeting, a memorandum on cooperation was signed.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with representatives of the Misericordie Italian CF led by President Domenico Giani. They discussed the help and support that the organization can provide to Lviv oblast in the field of health care and social protection.

The RMA held a meeting with Ertan Bastuhan, Head of the TURKSID business association, and representatives of Turkish business. During the meeting, each of parties presented its business representative to share the experience of working on international markets and possible cooperation.

Over 30 young people from Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil oblasts take part in a tent camp of the Hero of Ukraine Taras Matviiv Military School in Zhydachi. They gain knowledge and experience in military tactics and first aid, aerial reconnaissance, and also practice in training shootings and team competitions.

RMA reported that UAH 32K was collected for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at a charity concert in Starii Sambor.

60 children of the military from Pidberiztsivsk community will go on a 10-day vacation to the Ciekhanouets commune (Poland).

Rivne oblast

The next repair team of 12 people went from Dubensk community to Kherson oblast. The oblast, as part of the Side by Side project, took over the reconstruction of Kochubey community. Brigades are actively helping to restore housing destroyed by the aggressor.

In one of the units of the 104th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of Rivne oblast, a basic course on the use of civilian multi-rotor UAVs in military conditions has begun. The classes are conducted by experienced instructors who will teach the fighters to quickly and correctly use them in combat conditions, which will make it possible to detect the enemy’s camouflaged positions and destroy them together with the enemy’s manpower.

Rivne rescuers received Motorola portable and car radios (models DP4800e, DP4400e and DM4400e) purchased with funds from the regional budget.

Rivne oblast received computer equipment (new laptops, monoblocks and portable charging stations) to improve the quality and speed of service provision in the Centers for the provision of administrative services thanks to the UN Development Program in Ukraine, which operates within the framework of the Strengthening the Resilience of Communities in the Regions of Ukraine project, financed by the Government of Great Britain.

Rivne oblast communities received 11 school buses. In total, communities have already received 21 vehicles. Since the war began, 58 school buses of the oblast have been seized for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ternopil oblast

The RMA held a meeting under the chairmanship of Iryna Vereshchuk, Vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine. They discussed issues of veteran policy, in particular, simplification of the procedure for obtaining the necessary documents that were lost during captivity.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Unplanned tactical special training took place at Khmelnytskyi NPP and in Shepetivkak region. The event was held jointly with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine with the involvement of management bodies and civil defense forces of the territorial subsystem of the unified state civil defense system of Khmelnytskyi oblast regarding actions in the event of an out-of-state situation at a critical infrastructure facility caused by the military aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine.

The President of Ukraine awarded soldiers from Khmelnytskyi oblast Oleksandr Borbutskyi and Boris Tchaikovskyi with the 3 th Order of Courage (posthumously), and Sosnytskyi Bohdan was awarded with  the 3th Order of Courage and the Medal for Military Service to Ukraine.

Chernivtsi oblast

Ruslan Zaparaniuk, Head of the RMA, paid a working visit to the military unit of the National Guard of Ukraine in Chernivtsi. With the commander of the unit, Colonel Vadym Shvets, they discussed the state of affairs, work on theoretical and practical training of National Guardsmen, and the overall security situation in the oblast.

The RMA reported that Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, recognized ten more students from Bukovyna who are helping the Ukrainian army.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

The US allocated $1.3 billion in aid to Ukraine, includes four NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems and ammunition; 152 mm caliber artillery shells; demining equipment; heavy TOW anti-tank guided missiles; Phoenix Ghost and Switchblade Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) drones; high-precision aviation ammunition; means of detecting UAVs and electronic warfare; 150 fuel tankers; 115 tactical vehicles for towing and transporting equipment; 50 tactical vehicles for equipment recovery; equipment for the security of ports and harbors; tactical protected communication systems; support for training and maintenance activities.

The US is going to send Ukraine the second consecutive aid package worth $400 mln, including additional ammunition for the NASAMS and Patriot air defense systems, shells for the HIMARS missile systems, Javelin anti-tank missile systems and TOW anti-tank guided missiles.

The EU extended sanctions against the russian federation until January 31, 2024. In addition, specific measures have been introduced to strengthen the EU’s ability to counter sanctions circumvention.

Australia imposed sanctions against 35 organizations and 10 high-ranking officials of the russian federation and belarus. Sanctions are directed against legal entities and individuals that have economic and strategic importance for russia. In addition, Australia called on russia to immediately leave the territory of Ukraine, and on belarus to stop supporting the russian war.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, held a meeting with Samantha Power, administrator of the US Agency for International Development (USAID). They discussed the needs of Ukraine in the conditions of continued russian aggression, in particular social protection of the population, health care and education.

Michael O’Leary, Ryanair Chief Executive Officer, met with Boryspil airport management. During the visit, they discussed the rapid restoration of international transportation in Ukraine, when the martial law ends in Ukraine and EASA confirms the safety of flights in Ukrainian skies.

Annalena Burbock, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, stated that her country is working with allies to intensify the export of Ukrainian grain by rail after russia’s withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

The President of Chile called on leaders of Latin America to recognize the aggression of the russian federation. “Today it is Ukraine, but tomorrow it could be any of us. What is happening in Ukraine is an unacceptable imperialist war of aggression that violates international law,” Gabriel Borych emphasized.

Annalena Burbok, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, reacted to the night attack of the russian federation in Odesa: “He deprives the world of any hope for Ukrainian grain. Each of his bombs also hits the poorest people in the world.”
