It has been the 503rd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 28 Iranian Shahed kamikaze drones. As a result of successful combat operations, the Ukrainian air defense system destroyed 26 attack UAVs and 2 reconnaissance drones of the Zala type. In addition, the russian army carried out 54 airstrikes and launched 38 MLRS  attacks on the positions of Ukrainian military and civilian areas. Apart from the destroyed infrastructure, innocent civilians were affected.

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile and aerial strikes.

The russian army continues to concentrate its main efforts towards Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariinka, where heavy fighting is underway. There were 17 military clashes.

The operational situation towards Volyn and Polissia did not change. There are no significant signs of russian offensive formations. Some units of the belarusian armed forces are performing tasks in the border areas with Ukraine. 

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains a military presence. They conducted an airstrike towards Volfyne, Sumy oblast, and carried out mortar and artillery shelling on over 15 populated areas, including Karpovychi, Chernihiv oblast, Romashkove, Sumy oblast, and Strilecha, Veterynarne, and Sotnytskyi Kozachok, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian troops are holding the defense steadfastly. Russian artillery and mortar fire targeted Krasne Pershe, Kamianka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Masiutivka, and Kyslivka, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Lyman, the russian army conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Vesele, Donetsk oblast. Artillery shelling affected the settlements of Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast, and Torske, Verkhniokamianske, and Vesele in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Bakhmut, under intense russian aviation and artillery fire, Ukrainian military successfully repelled attacks in the area of Hryhorivka and east of Orikhovo-Vasylivka. Over 10 populated areas, including Vasiukivka, Bohdanivka, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, and Ivanivske, Donetsk oblast, suffered from russian artillery shelling.

Towards Avdiivka, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold back the advance of russian troops in the areas of Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske. The russian army conducted an airstrike in the area of the city of Avdiivka. At the same time, they carried out artillery shelling on more than 10 populated areas, including Avdiivka, Berdychiv, and Nevelske, Donetsk oblast.

Towards Mariinka, under russian artillery fire, Ukrainian soldiers repelled all attacks in the areas of the populated settlements of Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Mariinka. The russian army conducted shelling on over 10 populated areas, including Kostiantynivka, Mariinka, and Yelyzavetivka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Shakhtarsk, russian troops conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Blahodatne. They carried out airstrikes near Odradne and Makarivka and shelled the populated areas of Vuhledar, Blahodatne, Velyka Novosilka, Vodiane, and Zolota Nyva in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the russian army concentrates its main efforts on preventing further advancement of Ukrainian soldiers. The russian army conducted airstrikes in the area of  populated settlements of Mala Tokmachka, Zaporizhzhia oblast and Zolota Balka, Kherson oblast. They also carried out artillery shelling on over  25 populated areas, including Huliaipole, Huliaipilske, Zaliznychne, Olihivske, Zaporizhzhia oblast; Kozatske, Lvove, Inzhenerne, Tokarivka, Kherson oblast, and the city of Kherson, as well as Dniprovka, Dmytrivka, and Ivanivka, Mykolaiv oblast. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operation towards Melitopol and Berdiansk, consolidating their achieved positions and conducting counter-battery measures.

Repressions against Ukrainian citizens are intensifying in the temporarily occupied territory of Henichesk, Kherson oblast. According to the available information, being “kept in the basement” has become much easier, as local collaborators, eager to gain favor of occupying authorities, constantly make false accusations against citizens and carry out unjustified inspections. Russian soldiers threaten the local population, stating that those without russian federation passports will be forcibly deported to Siberia and have their property confiscated.

The Air Force of Ukraine conducted 14 strikes on areas where russian personnel, armaments, and military equipment are concentrated, and 3 strikes on russian anti-aircraft missile complexes.

Units of rocket troops and artillery targeted 3 command posts, 10 artillery positions, 1 air defense system, and 1 russian electronic warfare station.


According to the press center of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the first female servicewoman completed a special Q-course of the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and received a SSO patch. The Q-course is a 5-month qualification course. Soldiers run, do push-ups, squats, and overcome march-throws in extremely difficult conditions.

The press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure reported that 85,000 tons of grain for Egypt in the port of Odesa is being completed. These are the last 2 bulkers that will be exported under the current grain agreement. The Ministry of Infrastructure also noted that russia continues to block the export of grain, which may lead to an increase in world food prices and deepen the crisis in poor countries.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Regional Military Administration, said that russian invaders shelled settlements in Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv, Kupiansk and Chuhuiv regions. As a result of shelling in Oleksandrivka and Tymofiivka villages of Bohodukhiv region, a private building and an outbuilding were damaged. A 64-year-old man was injured in Dvorichna village of Kupiansk region.

Artillery and helicopter shelling of Odnorobivka village, Bohodukhiv region, damaged 5 private buildings, outbuildings, a car and power supply facilities.

Oleh Syniehubov, Head of Kharkiv RMA added that yesterday, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service inspected more than 7 hectares of territory and defused 101 explosive ordnance.

Chuhuiv City Military Administration reported that the next school year will be held online. The relevant recommendations were provided by the heads of the district departments of the National Police and the State Emergency Service. According to them, no shelter today can guarantee safety in case of a direct hit from a russian missile. In addition, in Chuhuiv, it takes about 40 seconds to reach the target and during this time, hundreds of children will simply not physically have time to get into shelters.

Donetsk oblast

Donetsk Regional Military Administration reported that russians killed 3 civilians yesterday in Hostre, Avdiivka and Toretsk. Another 7 people were injured.

Donetsk RMA added that towards Volnovakha, russians shelled Vuhledar 14 times and Novoukrainka once with artillery, without causing any casualties.

Towards Donetsk, 1 person was killed and 3 injured in Hostre of Kurakhove community. Novomykhailivka, Marinka community, was shelled during the day.

Towards Horlivka, 1 person was killed and 1 injured in Toretsk, 14 buildings damaged. Two buildings were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. An administrative building was damaged in Predtechyne, Kostiantynivka community. There was shelling of Kleban-Byk of Illinivsk community and the outskirts of Soledar community.

Towards Lysychansk, 2 buildings were damaged in Zarichne, Lyman community, and power lines were cut in Yurkivka, Mykolaivka community.

According to the administration, despite the constant shelling, 802 people remain in Vuhledar community and 189 in Vuhledar.

Vasyl Chynchyk, Head of Toretsk City Military Administration signed an order about the closure of all markets in Toretsk community on 11 July due to constant enemy shelling.

Luhansk oblast

Luhansk Regional Military Administration said that Ukrainian troops are ready for russian attacks from any direction – aerial reconnaissance is working efficiently. However, the enemy continues to destroy the de-occupied settlements. They shelled Nevske and Bilohorivka with artillery again. The latter was also hit with an air strike.

Luhansk Regional Military Administration said that in the occupied territories, the invaders forced local entrepreneurs to re-register their businesses under russian law by 1 July. When the deadline passes, they demand to stop their activities and promise disappointing consequences if the entrepreneurs do not respond to the threats. Re-registration takes place only if the owner has a russian passport.

Luhansk Regional Military Administration added that builders fled Sievierodonetsk a long time ago with some profit. They tried to recruit locals to replace them, but they quickly quit working due to lack of funds, so the vacancies were filled by men from the surrounding villages. They immediately warned them that there would be no funds, so they had to earn their own money.

Referring to Luhansk RMA, another 235 residents of Luhansk oblast in Kirovohrad oblast received towels, blankets and bed linen. The coordination centre for IDPs from Luhansk oblast in Kirovohrad oblast distributed 337 food packages, 235 towels, blankets and bed linen sets over the past week. 389 IDPs chose their own clothes. 350 sets were formed for further distribution. A lawyer received those who were interested in legal services. The hub is run by the Schastia City Military Administration.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Head of the KCMA Serhiy Popko announced that the enemy attacked Kyiv from the air with “Shahed” barrage ammunition. All detected air targets were destroyed by air defense forces and means.

Kyiv RMA reported that 1 high-rise and 12 private buildings were damaged in Kyiv oblast as a result of a drone attack. Windows and doors were broken in the apartments, facades and roofs were cut. In addition, due to the fall of debris, the grass floor caught fire in several places. No hits were recorded. There are no victims.

Due to the russian drones attack and falling debris, damage to power lines was recorded in the Kyiv oblast. According to the Ministry of Energy, 102 consumers were cut off.

Bucha City Mayor Anatoly Fedoruk announced that a two-story apartment building in Vorzel that burned down last year during the temporary occupation of Kyiv oblast due to shelling by the russian military is being restored. Builders plan to complete the work within a week.

30 young people aged 18-35 arrived in the Kyiv oblast to create a community youth space as part of the implementation of the “VIDNOVA:UA” program to involve young people in the restoration of Ukraine. The task of the project is to create opportunities for young people to participate in the reconstruction of the country, to promote the spread of volunteerism, the formation of an active life position and responsibility for social and political processes in the country.

Kyiv residents adopted into their families a record number of homeless animals in June – specialists of the municipal animal shelter together with volunteers adopted 132 animals. At the same time, for the first half of 2023 – 281 animals. The number of adopted animals increased thanks to the mobilization of society to support people and animals affected by the explosion of the Kakhovska HPP.

Ukrainian publicist Serhiy Rudenko’s book about the defense of Kyiv with illustrations by Kharkiv artist Nikita Titov will be published before Ukraine’s Independence Day. The author said that “This is a book-story about those who found themselves in the vortex of the russian-Ukrainian war in Kyiv and in towns and villages near the capital. The book is about the character of millions of people who came to the defense of Kyiv”.

Zhytomyr oblast

A separate rifle battalion is being formed in Zhytomyr oblast to provide additional defense of Ukraine. All military personnel undergo appropriate professional training according to NATO standards, during which military personnel, in addition to improving their own physical training and strengthening their fighting spirit, will have the opportunity to master samples of weapons and military equipment.

In the north of Zhytomyr oblast, a car blew up on a mine, the driver was killed. The tragedy occurred as a result of the fact that the man ignored the warning signs and drove his car into the mined territory. The police reminded that it is allowed to visit forests in Zhytomyr oblast, except for territories located 20 km from the border with belarus and those that were occupied.

Head of Zhytomyr RMA Vitaliy Bunechko announced that Estonia allocated 16 million hryvnias for the restoration of the bridge damaged by a russian airstrike in Malyn. This is about 40% of the provided assistance. The builders assure that the work will be completed by the end of September this year. Today, representatives of the European Union Committee of the Parliament of Estonia and the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Ukraine got acquainted with the progress of works at the facility.

Estonian partners conduct public procurement for the implementation of the second phase of construction of a kindergarten in Ovruch. Soon, the institution will be able to provide quality and safe conditions for 160 children. During its construction, a separate bomb shelter was created, equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay of children in emergency conditions.

Head of the Zhytomyr regional council Mykola Lukashuk announced that the oblast transferred almost 15 tons of bottled water to Dnipropetrovsk oblast. In total, more than 2,400 bottles, six liters each, were delivered to the city. The water is intended for residents of Apostolove, Kryvyi Rih region.

Sumy oblast

Sumy RMA reported that the russians carried out 26 shelling of the border – a total of 180 explosions were recorded. The communities of Bilopillia, Hlukhiv, Druzhbivka, Esman, Krasnopillia, Yunakivka, Seredina-Buda and Khotyn came under shelling. The enemy attacked with mortars, artillery and grenade launchers, fired from a helicopter with unguided air missiles, droped down explosives from UAVs.

At night and in the morning, the russians carried out 8 shelling of the border, 40 explosions were recorded. Seredina-Buda, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Esman, Bilopillia and Mykolaiv (rural) communities came under shelling.

Head of the regional military administration Volodymyr Artyukh said that over the past two months, the oblast has experienced twice as many shellings than in the previous ones. There were 1,349 shellings, among them – 28 air strikes, 20 strikes with the use of Shahed drones, more than 22 – the use of other UAVs that used bombs in a 5-kilometer zone from the border. As a result of the activities of saboteurs, 41 local residents were killed, 81 were injured.

Volodymyr Artyukh said that the evacuation from the five-kilometer border zone of the Sumy oblast will be voluntary and planned. According to RMA calculations, 20,000 people from 15 communities will be evacuated. The largest number of people are planned to be deported from Sumy and Shostka regions.

Sumy RMA reported that the fund of protective structures continues to grow in Sumy oblast, the number of shelters in the region has increased by 136 units, their capacity has increased by 3000 places. The increase in the number was largely due to the arrangement of shelters in the Sumy region, where 94 objects were added.

To date, about 9,000 explosive objects, including 20 aerial bombs, have been removed and destroyed in the oblast only by the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service. In total, the territory with an area of 1 million 300 thousand hectares was surveyed. – terrain in open territory, roads and roadsides, fields, bridges, dams, railway tracks, residential sector, critical infrastructure objects.

Chernihiv oblast

The SBGS reported that the russians carried out nine attacks on three border communities of Chernihiv oblast. As of 09:00 a.m. on July 11, a total of 87 explosions were recorded. On the territory of the Snovsk community, 40 artillery strikes were recorded on the village of Hirsk and 25 mortar strikes on the village of Klyusy. In the Novhorod-Siverskyi community, the enemy carried out artillery fire on the territory of the villages of Kamianska Sloboda and Hai and mortar fire on the villages of Buchki and Hremyach – a total of 12 explosions were recorded. Artillery shelling of the village of Tymonovychi and the village of Mykolaivka was recorded in the Semenivka community – 10 explosions.

Head of Chernihiv oblast Vyacheslav Chaus reported that over the past week, the enemy shelled 20 border settlements of Chernihiv oblast 49 times. A total of 584 explosions were recorded, including 8 of them – unguided air missiles launched from helicopters. As a result of the russian shelling, three people were injured, and the premises of an agricultural enterprise and a shop were damaged.

The Ministry of Economy reported that pyrotechnicians surveyed 393 hectares of agricultural land in Chernihiv oblast last week. In total, since the beginning of the year, more than 160,000 hectares of agricultural land have been surveyed in four regions of Ukraine (Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, and Kherson).

Chernihiv City Council reported that Chernihiv will receive €800,000 from the German government for the reconstruction of almost 2.2 km of the water supply network. The project is financed by the Government of Germany through the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine.

Chernihiv RMA reported that the ROCKWOOL company delivered mineral wool to the residents of the Ivanivka territorial community, whose homes were damaged as a result of russian aggression, for the second time. 49 families received assistance. In addition, company representatives handed over 14 generators for the needs of communities and educational institutions of the oblast.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to head of the regional council Mykola Lukashuk, the enemy shelled the Nikopol region three times overnight. The occupiers used heavy artillery to hit the Marhanets community and Nikopol. A total of 15 shots were fired. In the evening, the enemy attacked Marhanets community of the Nikopol region with a drone. 

Almost 15 tonnes of bottled water were delivered to the residents of Apostolove in the Kryvyi Rih region. In total, more than 2,400 six-litre bottles were delivered to the town.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​Schoolchildren Karolina Slobodianiuk, Sofia Pohonets, and Solomiia Rudzevych from Vinnytsia oblast organised a charity fair that raised UAH 5,800 to help the Ukrainian army.

Together with a volunteer from Germany, the students sent 4 tonnes of cargo, including stretchers, medical supplies and long-term storage products, to the East.

Kirovohrad oblast

Explosive ordnance disposal experts from Kirovohrad oblast joined the demining of Kharkiv oblast. They defused enemy shells and other hazardous items that had not detonated.

Poltava oblast

Kremenchuk’s ‘Pravoberezhna’ City Hospital received humanitarian aid from UNICEF. The hospital received modern medical equipment, including an automatic incubator; a portable patient monitor; a resuscitation table for newborns; and a phototherapy unit. The department also received 50 blankets.

Cherkasy oblast

The specialists of Kaniv Hydroelectric Power Plant handed over hygiene products, disinfectants, long-storage, and instant food to the residents of Kherson oblast.

According to the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Cherkasy oblast, pyrotechnics from Cherkasy oblast continue to carry out tasks to clear the country’s territories of explosive devices. Kherson oblast is still one of the areas where deminers are working.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration reported that rescue and search operations at the site of the air strike have been completed in Orikhiv. The bodies of three more dead locals were recovered from the rubble: men aged 50, 56 and 64. The unguided aerial bomb claimed the lives of seven residents of Orikhiv. 11 victims are receiving the necessary treatment in medical institutions. This was reported by the 

According to the National Police, on July 10, in Orikhiv, during the work on dismantling the rubble and unblocking the bodies of people, the russian military conducted another air strike near the site of the previous hit. The blast wave damaged a police car. There were no casualties. 

Over the past day, July 10, the  russian troops fired 65 times on the territory of 12 frontline settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast: an airstrike hit Orikhiv, three times from MLRS, 61 artillery strikes were made on Orikhiv, Huliaipole, Levadne, Novodarivka, Huliaipilske, Malynivka.

The russian military uses the technical premises of ZNPP to deploy weapons and military equipment and spreads fakes about the shelling of the plant. Ukraine does NOT violate international conventions and is doing its best to prevent a man-made disaster.

The occupiers are forcing employees of Ukrainian enterprises in the temporarily occupied territories to obtain pseudo-passports of the russian federation. In case of refusal, they impose criminal and administrative liability.

Mykolaiv oblast

Today, the occupiers shelled two communities in the Mykolaiv oblast, resulting in fires. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported that the shells hit the outbuildings of the Kutsurub and Ochakiv communities. Firefighters swiftly extinguished the fires, which affected approximately 34 square meters of outbuildings and 300 square meters of dead wood. No injuries were reported.

The sappers from the 194th Pontoon and Bridge Brigade of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations continue their efforts to clear mines from the land in the Mykolaiv oblast. Since April 2023, the consolidated sapper unit of the brigade has cleared 158 hectares of land and various facilities, and successfully defused 900 explosive devices of different types and calibers.

The American organization Global Empowerment Mission Ukraine, in collaboration with the Howard G BUFFETT Foundation, has delivered three thousand food packages to the Mykolaiv region. These packages are intended for internally displaced people and those affected by the explosion at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. This information was reported by the press service of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration.

Mykolaivvodokanal, the water utility company, has received a new shipment of pumping equipment from the international concern GRUNDFOS Holding A/S, based in the Kingdom of Denmark.

As part of the “A Child’s View of a Child’s War” project, a 10-year-old volunteer named Mirai Shiraishi from Japan visited Mykolaiv. The project aims to collect stories from children who have experienced the horrors of war.

Odesa oblast

On July 11, during the night, the russian armed forces carried out a drone attack in the Odesa oblast. Two port terminals, specifically a grain terminal and a fuel terminal, were set on fire as a result. In response, the air defense forces successfully neutralized 22 drones that were flying over the region. The ‘South’ Operational Command reported that the russian objective was to target the grain terminals in order to disrupt the grain deal.

Defenders of Ukraine serving in Kherson region  received significant assistance from Odesa. This support included a metal boat, several inflatable boats, generators, water pumps, long-term storage food, disposable tableware, large quantities of drinking water, medicines, and bandages. The aid was delivered by Romanian partners, the Italian charity Battalion Volunteer, and the team led by Andrii Babenko, a member of the Odesa Regional Council.

The “Rukh Razom” Charitable Foundation is offering prosthetic services for Ukrainian soldiers at Spanish clinics. Agreements have already been signed with three relevant institutions. Ukrainian military personnel will receive comprehensive assistance, ranging from psychologists to rehabilitation therapists. All expenses will be covered by benefactors, and the charitable foundation will fund the treatment.

Kherson oblast

On July  11, russian troops shelled the temporarily occupied town of Oleshky with artillery. A couple of pensioners were killed.

The russian military shelled the humanitarian headquarters and residential buildings in Suvorov district of Kherson. Five people were injured, including an 8-year-old boy. russian shells pierced the roof and destroyed the walls of residential buildings in the centre of Kherson. Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of Kherson Regional Military Administration, said that as a result of the russian army’s strike on Sofiyivka of the Stanislav community in Kherson oblast, a woman was killed and a man was injured. Rescue services are working at the site of the attack. 

At night, the russian army shelled the Antonivskyi Bridge area on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Over the past day, it struck 25 times at the territory of the Kherson community. Damage was recorded in Kherson, Antonivka, Sadove, Zelenivka and Inzhenerne. Three people were injured, one man is in serious condition.

Volodymyr Litvinov, Head of Beryslav Regional Administration, reported that on July 10, the russian military dropped explosives on Zolota Balka in Beryslav region. One man was injured. Three communities were shelled over the day, including Beryslav and Lvove. 

Natalia Gumenyuk, head of the press center of the Southern Defense Forces, reported that over the past day, July 10, towards Kherson, the Defense Forces destroyed seven russian military and eight pieces of equipment, including three reconnaissance drones.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

Another rotation of sappers from Volyn, who work in Donetsk oblast, took place. They replaced their colleagues who had been demining for the previous month and a half. Volyn residents seized 4 680 rounds of ammunition. Since the beginning of the current rotation of pyrotechnics in Volyn, 152 explosive objects of the current war have been neutralized.

Zakarpattia oblast

The first of three trains with children from Kherson oblast arrived in Zakarpattia. 104 children accompanied by adults immediately left for Khust region. Soon, the group will go on a bus vacation to partners from the Austrian federal state of Land Burgenland.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Medical institutions of Ivano-Frankivsk and Kolomiysk districts were visited by a working group on the development of rehabilitation assistance in the oblast. Representatives of the working group familiarize themselves with the list of rehabilitation services provided by hospitals, examined the conditions in which the patients of medical facilities undergo rehabilitation.

The RMA reported that Carpathian rescuers received a Scania fire rescue vehicle from the English Rotary Club.

Rescuers from Ivano-Frankivsk oblast continue to defuse explosive objects on the territory of Donetsk and Kherson oblasts, which was under occupation. Specialists examined the territory of about 20 hectares, where they discovered and neutralized 68 units of explosive objects.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Chargé d’affaires of Lennart Liner, Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine, and Helene Sand Andresen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Norway in Ukraine.

In the dormitory of Rava-Ruskyi Vocational Lyceum, repair work was carried out and 17 comfortable rooms were equipped for the accommodation of IDPs. Work was financed within the framework of the Program for the Implementation of Priority Infrastructure Projects in the Lviv oblast for 2023.

20 children from the families of killed, missing, captured and wounded servicemen from Yavoriv community are in a camp in Poland thanks to the Lyubachev commune.

During the charity concert of the People’s Vocal Studio Chervona Ruta in Chervonohrad, over UAH 38K were collected for the purchase of a drone for soldiers. Over UAH 30K for the support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were collected during a charity concert in Zhovtanetsk community. Two drones were purchased for the front for fellow villagers with funds collected by the employees of Zimnovodov village council.

The President of Ukraine awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Golden Star posthumously to Yurii Kaniuk, a soldier from Mykolaiv, Lviv oblast. For courage and heroism in March 2022, he was awarded with the Order For Courage of the 3rd degree. On May 23, 2022, while saving his military brothers, Yurii was hit by a fatal bullet.

Rivne oblast

In Varasha, training is being held in case of an emergency situation at Rivne NPP with the release of radioactive substances. All involved services are developing an action plan: elimination of the consequences of the accident, measures to protect personnel and residents, notification and evacuation of the population, etc. Public notification in the event of an accident will begin 32 seconds after the probable accident.

The RMA held a meeting of heads of the security and defense sector of the oblast. They discussed strengthening the circular defense.

RMA representatives are on a working trip to Poland. The officials met with Leszyk Bonna, Vice-Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, and representatives of the local government. Possible partnership and cooperation of regions were discussed.

Voluntary firefighters from Rivne oblast undergo training at the professional training center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship (Poland) thanks to the Training Ukrainian Firefighters – Saving Ukrainian Lives project, which is financed from the funds of the Eastern Europe initiative. These are 10 representatives of territorial communities who are improving their skills.

The RMA reported that servicemen of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine operating in Rivne oblast have become blood donors. About a hundred people came for the handover, but in the future even more will be involved.

Ternopil oblast

RMA reported that 16 children of the fallen Heroes from Ternopil oblast went to the Balatonfoldvar resort of Lake Balaton (Hungary) for recovery.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

RMA reported that military personnel from Khmelnytskyi received a Volkswagen Transporter four-wheel drive minibus and a DJI Mavic 3T quadcopter.

Chernivtsi oblast

Residents of Brusnytsk community, Vitalii Lakusta and Lyubomir Barbier, were awarded with the Golden Cross badge of honor from Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

International support of Ukraine in the russian-Ukrainian war (russia’s invasion of Ukraine)

On July 11, 2023, a two-day NATO summit began in Vilnius. Over 2,4K members of 48 foreign delegations, including up to 40 heads of state and up to 150 other high-ranking government officials, are expected to arrive in the Lithuanian capital.

Jonas Gar Stere, Norwegian Prime Minister, announced that the country increased the size of Ukraine’s military aid fund from $240 million to $930 million.

Emmanuel Macron, President of France, announced that the country will send long-range missiles to Ukraine to support the offensive of the Armed Forces.

Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of Australia, announced that the country will send an E-7A Wedgetail reconnaissance aircraft to Germany, which will patrol the routes for the supply of aid to Ukraine. The aircraft will monitor logistics routes and hubs and be responsible for early warning in case of any threats. It will not fly into the airspace of Ukraine.

Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine, spent an online conversation with Petteri Orpo, Prime Minister of Finland. They discussed support for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, strengthening of sanctions against russia, confiscation of russian assets and assistance in reconstruction.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine reported that free roaming for Ukrainian refugees has been extended for another year. Currently, 22 European operators provide Ukrainians with free roaming.

An online platform for protecting the rights of Ukrainians has appeared in Poland. This is one of the sections of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) website. It explains their rights to Ukrainian asylum seekers.

At the Burning Man festival, Ukraine will present an object called the Hedgehog Temple. The theme of this year’s festival is animals. Hedgehog Temple is an art object made of anti-tank hedgehogs. Stories of fallen soldiers will be placed inside them. The goal of the project is to raise funds for ambulances and evacuation vehicles for the Ukrainian military.
