It has been the 502nd day of the Ukrainian resistance to the russian military aggression. 

What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

On the night of June 9-10, the russian federation launched another missile attack on one of Mykolaiv’s infrastructure facilities. The enemy also conducted 22 airstrikes and fired about 30 times from multiple launch rocket systems. Civilian infrastructure was destroyed and there were casualties among civilians.

There is still a high threat of missile and air strikes across Ukraine.

The enemy is focusing its main efforts on Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka. Heavy fighting continues. There were 17 combat engagements over the day.

The situation towards Volyn and Polissia remained unchanged. 

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the enemy conducted airstrikes near Basove, Odnorobivka and Veterynarne in Kharkiv oblast. They fired mortar and artillery shells at about 10 settlements, including Hirsk in Chernihiv oblast; Chuikivka, Sumy oblast, and Udy, Veterynarne, Ohirtseve, and Zemlianky, Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, Ukrainian troops are holding steadfastly. Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zakhidne, Masiutivka and Kyslivka in Kharkiv oblast came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

Towards Lyman, the russian troops conducted airstrikes in the vicinity of Razdolivka and Bilohorivka in Donetsk region over the last day. More than 15 settlements came under artillery fire, including Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast and Torske, Verkhnekamianske, Ivano-Darivka, Berestove, Vesele, Rozdolivka in Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Bakhmut, under heavy fire from enemy aircraft and artillery, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks near the village of Hryhorivka in Donetsk region. The enemy launched an airstrike near Toretsk. More than 10 settlements suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Vasyukivka, Bohdanivka, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Oleksandr-Shultine and Pivdenne in Donetsk oblast. 

Towards Avdiivka, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the russian offensive in the vicinity of Sieverne in Donetsk region. The enemy conducted an air strike near Avdiivka. At the same time, the enemy shelled more than 10 settlements, including Avdiivka, Pervomaiske and Nevelske in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Marinka, under russian artillery fire, Ukrainian defenders repelled all enemy attacks near Marinka and Krasnohorivka. The enemy also launched an airstrike near the latter. More than 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Heorhiivka and Pobieda in Donetsk oblast were shelled.

Towards Shakhtarsk, the russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensives near Novomykhailivka, Donetsk oblast. There was an airstrike near Odradne in Donetsk oblast. More than 10 settlements, including Vuhledar, Storozheve and Blahodatne in Donetsk oblast came under fire.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the enemy is focusing its main efforts on preventing further advance of Ukrainian troops. More than 20 settlements were shelled, including Novodarivka, Levadne, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, and Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia oblast; Beryslav, Kozatske, Lviv, Antonivka, Inzhenerne, Dniprovske in Kherson oblast and the city of Kherson.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations towards Melitopol and Berdiansk, consolidating their positions, inflicting artillery fire on the enemy targets identified, and conducting counter-battery operations. 

Aviation of the Ukrainian defense forces conducted 4 strikes on buildups of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment, destroying 3 reconnaissance UAVs of operational and tactical level.

Rocket and artillery units hit a command post, 3 buildups of manpower, weapons and military equipment, an ammunition depot, 7 artillery pieces at firing positions and one occupier air defense facility.

Hanna Malyar, Deputy Defense Minister, reports that the Ukrainian armed forces liberated more than 14 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory between July 3 and 9. 10.2 square kilometers in the south and 4 square kilometers in the east of the country were liberated. 

Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, informs that construction of the Bayraktar UAV manufacturing plant in Ukraine has begun. The minister said that the plant is taking serious steps toward construction.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the russian army carried out airstrikes on three settlements in Zolochiv and Derhachi regions. At least 10 settlements came under mortar and artillery fire.

The RMA reported that the russian army struck Dvorichna in Kharkiv oblast. A 64-year-old man sustained shrapnel wounds, his condition is satisfactory.

Viktor Kovalenko, Head of Zolochiv military administration said that Tymofiivka was shelled with mortars at around 11 am. According to him, a private house and outbuildings were damaged as a result of five attacks, and no one was wounded. At 17:45, russia launched 13 artillery strikes on Odnorobivka in Zolochiv region, preceded by a rocket attack from helicopters. As a result of the shelling, there was no power supply, and five private houses, a car and outbuildings were damaged.

Oleh Synehubov, Head of the RMA said that power engineers have restored electricity supply in the village of Synychene. The settlement is located almost on the border with Donetsk oblast, so the damage is significant – up to 70% of the power grids were damaged. 

It is reported that russian occupiers fired at settlements in Kupiansk, Chuhuiv and Bohodukhiv regions. In particular, Kupyansk, Vovchansk, Udy, Dvorichna, Krasne Pershe and other settlements were under enemy fire. Private residential and apartment buildings were damaged. The enemy used combat aircraft near Kolodiazne and Kyslivka in Kupiansk region.

There were no civilian casualties reported.

Mine clearance continues. Pyrotechnicians of the State Emergency Service defused 16 ordnance.

Donetsk oblast

The russian military is trapped in Bakhmut, and the city is under the fire control of the Defence Forces. This was announced by the commander of the Land Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Andriy Kovaliev, Spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that last week, Ukrainian troops liberated 4 square kilometres of territory from russian occupiers towards Bakhmut. He added that the total area liberated in the Bakhmut sector is 24 square kilometres. The Ukrainian military are consolidating the gains made.

The Energy Ministry said that the bodies of two more workers were found during the debris removal at Kurakhove community in Donetsk oblast. In total, three people were killed and another three injured when the roof of the boiler and turbine shop collapsed on July 7.

It is reported that russian soldiers beat a 30-year-old man with a hearing impairment in the village of Kremenivka, Mariupol region. He is in hospital in a very serious condition.

Referring to Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office, russian troops shelled Avdiivka and Hostre in Donetsk oblast, killing two people and wounding three.

At 14:40, russian troops shelled the private sector of the village of Hostre, Pokrovsk region. A local resident was killed by shells, and three men sustained mine-blast injuries. At around 15:00, russian occupiers shelled Avdiivka, killing a 54-year-old man in his own home.

Donetsk RMA reported that two more victims are residents of Kurakhivka community. There are also wounded. In total, 6 towns and villages in Donetsk oblast came under attack. In the middle of the night, the russians struck at Kramatorsk, hitting the territory of a plant.

Towards Volnovakha, russians fired 115 times at Vuhledar, causing no casualties.

Towards Donetsk, there were two massive artillery attacks on Avdiivka in the early hours of the morning – 4 streets were hit. Krasnohorivka and Kostiantynivka of Maryinka community and the outskirts of the Ocheretyne community were shelled.

Towards Horlivka, a house was damaged in Pleshchiyivka of the Illinivska community. Toretsk community is under heavy fire: 4 houses and a boiler room were damaged in Toretsk, 5 houses were damaged in Druzhba. In Chasovoyarsk community, 2 houses were damaged.

Towards Lysychansk, one person was wounded in Yampol, Lyman community.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of Donetsk RMA said that over the past day, russian troops wounded one resident in Yampil. 

A monument to a soviet MiG-17 aircraft was repainted in Kramatorsk, Donetsk oblast. The plane was ‘dressed’ in a blue “pixel”, which is the colour of modern Ukrainian aircraft.

Luhansk oblast

The Ukrainian military is holding off all enemy attempts to advance in Luhansk oblast, inflicting significant losses on the russian troops. The enemy is not succeeding, running out of personnel, but continues to send reserves into the battle. Settlements and Ukrainian positions are shelled around Serebrianske forestry. Yesterday, there were airstrikes on this territory. Nevske and Bilohorivka came under fire from russian artillery.

Luhansk Military Administration said that in the occupied Sievierodonetsk, due to the mobile phone service being cut off by the russians, the locals have to use walkie-talkies, which are expensive.

In Luhansk oblast, the forced passporting of citizens continues. In Starobilsk, for example, the occupying forces issued so-called “russian federation resident cards,” valid for three months, to all employees of the local multispecialty hospital who do not yet have russian passports. If they do not receive these documents within this period, they threaten to confiscate their housing and deport them from the temporarily occupied territories.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Kyiv City Military Administration reported that explosive objects are being liquidated in Vyshhorod region. Residents of Kyiv northern suburbs are warned that the sounds of explosions will be heard.

Self-defense training for women, organized in Kyiv by the NGO Ukrainian Women’s Guard with the support of the European University, continues. On July 9, coach Viktor Kraievskyi conducted training for two groups of women. After the course, the women learn what to do if attacked,control their fear, and fight back against the enemy.

The press service of the American University in Kyiv reported that the university launched scholarships for Ukrainian veterans, as well as widows, widowers and children of fallen soldiers. Scholarships will cover studies in bachelor’s and master’s programs. Funds will be provided from the AUK Veterans Scholarship Fund, which was established together with the Ukrainian Veterans Fund.

Yuri Yarukhin’s publication “Heroes of Unconquered Ukraine. 2022” was presented in Kyiv. The book is a collection of stories about the heroes of Ukraine, honored by the state for their valor, shown since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion. The presentation of the book took place during a press conference in Ukrinform.

A driving school for persons with disabilities was opened in Kyiv as part of the flagship project of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This is part of the Without Barriers initiative of the first lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska. In the driving school, people with disabilities can learn to drive category B vehicles and manual driving, studying in inclusive groups, individually, an remotely.

Kyiv City State Administration reported that during the 500 days of the full-scale war, despite airstrikes, missile attacks and war, 24,026 babies were born in maternity homes and shelters of the city. During this time, 32,290 couples got married in the capital.

Zhytomyr oblast

Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev, Commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced that Zhytomyr, Rivne and Volyn directions will be more firmly covered by appropriate engineering barriers soon. According to him, the inspection of defense capabilities of the Northern Operational Zone within these areas has been completed. Administrations and soldiers are assigned tasks to improve defensive lines and positions. Those units that perform tasks directly along the state border will be reinforced with weapons and military equipment.

The training session for social workers of the oblast dedicated to providing psychosocial support to veterans and their families on mental health issue” was held in Zhytomyr. The training became possible thanks to the Veterans Reintegration Program implemented by the IREX organization with the support of the US State Department.

The charity festival EthnoSylni took place in Berdychiv, the participants of which were representatives of communities from Zhytomyr and Vinnytsia oblasts. During master classes and creative presentations, funds were collected for the Armed Forces.

Sumy oblast

According  to Sumy Regional Military Administration, on June 10, the occupiers fired on two communities, inflicting a total of 11 attacks. The enemy fired 6 mines in Seredino-Budova region, and 5 more exploded in Bilopilia region.

At night and in the morning, Krasnopillia and Khotyn communities came under artillery fire. There were 9 explosions in Krasnopil community, and 6 hits in Khotyn region.

Mykola Torianyk, Head of Khotyn community, informs that after 9 am, the occupiers attacked the border of Khotyn community with unguided missiles from a helicopter. 

According to Sumy Regional State Administration, the Regional Children’s Hospital received aid from UNICEF, namely medicines, equipment, surgical instruments, bandages, etc.

Evacuation of civilians is announced in Sumy oblast. The areas subject to mandatory evacuation are located in a five-kilometer zone near the border with russia. According to the RMA, from January to July 2023, 35 civilians were killed as a result of hostilities in the oblast. In the last month alone, 17 people were killed, including one child.

Sumy City Council reports that the Danish organization is involved in the restoration of homes in Sumy oblast. This program will be available to those whose homes were damaged during the July 3 attack by Shahed drones. The international humanitarian organization Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine will help with the repair of private and multi-storey buildings.

 Law enforcement officers from Okhtyrka joined the flash mob Tie a Ribbon of Memory in Honor of the Hero. Juvenile prevention inspectors from Okhtyrka Police Department, together with children from Trostianets community, visited wounded soldiers in a hospital. The children presented the soldiers with drawings and handmade bracelets. 

Chernihiv oblast

The ‘North’ Operational Command reports that on June 9, the enemy fired on Novhorod-Siverskyi and Simenivka communities in Chernihiv oblast. The occupiers struck the village of Mikhalchyna-Sloboda in Novhorod-Siverskyi region with 12 attacks, probably with cannon artillery. In Kostobobriv and Karpovychi villages in Semenivka region, there were 8 mortar attacks, and Mykolaivka village of the same community came under artillery fire 3 times.

Ivan Vashchenko, Head of Koriukivka Military Administration, russian troops attacked Snovska border community – the village of Hirske was shelled. The strikes damaged a private car, and the fire also damaged grain on a private plot of land.

In Pryluky, shelters are planned to be built thanks to the aid from the United States. Funds for the purchase of generators, portable charging stations, solar panels, fire extinguishers and other items needed to operate the 23 shelters are provided by the U.S. State Department.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

Serhii Lysak, Head of  Dnipropetrovsk RMA, said that the russians shelled Nikopol region twice. The occupiers used heavy artillery to hit Marhanets community and Nikopol. Sinelnove community and Nikopol were also hit. Mezhova community, which borders with Donetsk oblast, was attacked. A 58-year-old man was wounded. 12 residential buildings, 1 outbuilding, and 3 cars were damaged. The enemy shelled Marganets community of Nikopol region with heavy artillery. They hit an open area. 

Serhii Lysak, Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, informed that due to the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP, Hrushkivka and Vakulivka communities are completely without centralized water supply in Kryvyi Rih region of the oblast. Another six communities are partially deprived of tap water.

Vinnytsia oblast

A team of construction workers from Vinnytsia Oblast is on duty in the village of Kalynivske, Kherson oblast. They are clearing houses and adjoining areas, removing rubbish, and cutting down fallen trees.

Kirovohrad oblast

In Kropyvnytskyi, Oleksandr Kryshko, the centre coordinator, informed that his centre deals with rescued people, those who have fled the war zone and residents of the oblast. The centre specializes in psychological assistance, legal advice, and information support.

Cherkasy oblast

Cherkasy oblast, in particular Smila, provided assistance to the defenders. Parents and graduates of the 9th grade of the local school sent personal hygiene items, painkillers, mobile stretchers, bandage bags, and letters written by children to the defenders

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

It is reported that russian forces targeted a residential quarter in Orikhiv with a guided aerial bomb during the distribution of humanitarian aid. According to the State Emergency Service, the number of casualties from yesterday’s shelling has risen to seven people, search operations have been completed. Eleven residents of Orikhiv have been hospitalized with injuries of varying severity.

On June 9, the enemy carried out 36 targeted strikes on 10 peaceful settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast: 5 shelling attacks on Levadne and Novodarivka using multiple rocket launcher systems, and 30 artillery shelling attacks on Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, Olhivske, Chervone, and Malynivka. A 65-year-old man was injured in Novodanylivka. Currently, 10 civilian objects were damaged.

Mykolaiv oblast

According to Mykolaiv RMA, on the night of July 10, russian forces conducted a missile strike on Mykolaiv. They targeted an infrastructure object, presumably with the ballistic missile Iskander-M. At least one person was injured. Additionally, on July 9, the russian army shelled the waters of Ochakiv community with artillery fire. No casualties were reported. 

Odesa oblast

According to the ‘South’ Operational Command, as of July 10, no russian missile carriers have been detected in the Black Sea. Currently, the russian naval group in the Black Sea consists of seven units, while in the Azov Sea, there are three units. The enemy keeps the ships in a safe area, 100 nautical miles away from the Ukrainian-controlled coast.

The number of casualties resulting from the attack on residential buildings in the Peresypsky district in Odesa during the night of June 10 has increased to four. This information was reported by the Odesa City Council. A 24-year-old resident of Odesa, who sustained shrapnel wounds, passed away at the hospital. 

A charity event was held in the City Garden of Odesa to support the missing military sailors from the patrol boat “Sloviansk” and the landing assault boat “Stanislav,” as well as other members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their families. According to Odesa City Council, dozens of Odesa residents attended the event with supportive placards. The event called Come Home was attended by servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, volunteers, public organizations, artistic groups, and artists from Odesa, Kyiv, and Lviv. Similar events to support the families of the missing sailors and soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were also organized by the public organization United by the Sea in Mykolaiv and Kropyvnytskyi. Similar events are planned to take place in Lviv and Ternopil.

Kherson oblast

It is reported that russian forces shelled a residential building in the village of Inzhienerne with artillery fire. A multi-story building was damaged as a result of the enemy shelling. Two women were injured.

On June 9, the enemy conducted 51 shelling attacks, launching 328 projectiles from mortars, artillery, aircraft, tanks, Grad rocket systems, AGSs, and UAVs. The city of Kherson was targeted with 8 projectiles. As a result of the latest enemy attack, private houses, educational and medical institutions, as well as the territory of a plant, were damaged. 

The russian military airstrikes targeted Kozatske, and the explosion damaged a school building and nearby houses. The hospital building was damaged due to the enemy shelling in Beryslav. Five people were injured due to russian aggression. The police of Kherson oblast recorded 12 war crimes committed by russian occupiers against the civilian population.

Police officers saved the life of an injured person in Berislav after the russian attack. During the enemy attack, fragments from the building structures severely injured a 59-year-old man. According to medical professionals, the timely first aid saved his life.

According to the ‘South’ Operational Command, our defenders eliminated 12 occupiers. A sabotage and reconnaissance group on a boat was destroyed.

The Emergency Rescue Service of Kherson oblast received a powerful generator. Thanks to the support of partners from Sweden, the Charitable Fund of the Swedish Aid Center, the equipment was provided to the Kherson Regional Utility Emergency and Rescue Service. 

Volunteers are implementing a unique eco-cleansing project in Kherson oblast. Representatives of the Misto Sily NGO together with the the center of living history Oleshshia and the international organization Lifting Hands International are pumping water from homes and other objects, as well as cleaning, drying, and disinfecting buildings. Such work has been carried out in over 700 locations, removing over 9,000 tons of garbage.

Volunteers continue supporting Kherson oblast. The VOSTOK-SOS foundation collected and delivered 17,124 liters of drinking water to the residents of Kozatske and Vesele. The international humanitarian organization ACTED provided components for water supply networks and four units of new equipment for boosting pumping stations. Through the joint efforts of the Za Khersonshchynu charitable foundation and the international organization USAID, 12 mobile water treatment units Oasis-C300 were provided to the residents of Tyahynka, Mylove, Beryslav, Kalynivka, and Novooleksandrivka communities.

Latest news for today in the western regions of Ukraine

Volyn oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Oleksandr Markushyn, Mayor of Irpin. He personally visited Volyn to express his gratitude for the help that Volyn oblast provided to Kyiv oblast and Irpin. In addition, issues of cooperation and humanitarian assistance were discussed.

As of July 10, 2023, 77 914 IDPs were accepted in Volyn. The largest number of people came to Lutsk and Kovel regions. During the week, 103 IDPs were resettled in the oblast. Of them, 13 are from Kherson oblast, who were forced to leave due to the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP.

Zakarpattia oblast

As part of a working trip to Lithuania, a delegation of Zakarpattia medics visited one of the largest EU hospitals to exchange experience. It is a university clinic with 200 beds and 7,4K employees, 2K of whom are medics. The hospital is high-tech and multidisciplinary. Here they provide services in transplantation, surgery, oncology, surgical interventions, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery and a number of other areas.

A charity concert was held in Uzhhorod. The collected almost UAH 10K will be given to Zakarpattia Military Support Movement for 68 kamikaze drones for the 68th battalion of Zakarpattia Territorial Defense.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

The RMA created a working group to develop rehabilitation assistance in the oblast and create rehabilitation institutions. The working group has already familiarized itself with the work of medical institutions that provide rehabilitation services.

A shelter for IDPs was opened in the village of Bytkiv in Nadvirna region thanks to the Caritas-Nadvirna CF, financial assistance from various foreign donors, local authorities and clergy.

Lviv oblast

The RMA held a meeting with Lennart Linner, Charge d’affaires of the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine, and Helene Sand Andresen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Norway in Ukraine. They discussed supporting IDPs, relocated businesses, the medical field, etc.

The RMA held a meeting with a delegation from the Czech Republic led by Tomas Kopechny, Government Commissioner for the Reconstruction of Ukraine. They discussed the issue of attracting specialists in psychology, psychiatry and rehabilitation to an Superhumans Center ultra-modern clinic, financial support for the operation of Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center and support for water purification projects implemented in communities of Lviv oblast.

Lviv City Council approved the Program for liquidation of the consequences of the emergency situation as a result of the rocket attack on the houses in Lviv on July 6. The document makes it possible to carry out emergency restoration work in houses that are damaged, and to provide compensation to residents for housing rent.

A school in Bibrska community, which is not working, was renovated and equipped with premises for the long-term residence of IDPs thanks to the cooperation between Lviv RMA and the Austrian Red Cross. Large families from Kharkiv and Bakhmut will live in the shelter.

Yavoriv and Zolochiv regions got rid of half of the objects of soviet propaganda. Since the war began, about a hundred such monuments have been dismantled in Lviv oblast. In total, 260 objects subject to decommunization were discovered in the oblast.

The 125th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces reported that two soldiers from Lviv oblast, Taras Dovhun and Mykola Makarevych, were awarded with the title of Gold Star (posthumously).

Klaus Exner, plastic surgeon from Germany, performed over a dozen surgical interventions for children at Lviv Okhmatdyt. This is already the medic’s 11th visit to the medical facility.

Rivne oblast

Rivne oblast plans to restore 124 mutilated houses of Kherson oblast. As part of the Side by Side project, Rivne RMA took over the leadership of Kochubey community of the southern region.

The city council of Rivne reported that residents of Rivne community who were wounded or sick during the defense of the Motherland are paid monetary aid. As of June 1, 2023, 136 defenders from Rivne received material assistance under the Turbota program for a total amount of UAH 3 242 236.

Ternopil oblast

The exhibition The War Is Not Over Yet will be opened in Ternopil, dedicated to Ukrainian and foreign journalists, cameramen, photographers, fixers who were killed, wounded, and kidnapped since the war began. The exhibition has been touring Ukrainian cities for about a year.

Khmelnytskyi oblast

The RMA reported that during the week, 378 measurements of radiation background indicators were carried out, no deviations were detected.

During the week, 49 IDPs arrived in Khmelnytskyi oblast by evacuation trains, 29 of them were placed in the oblast. 750 kg of clothes were issued for 464 IDPs at the clothing distribution point in Khmelnytskyi RMA.

Chernivtsi oblast

Bukovyna joined the Side by Side national initiative to help the oblasts of Ukraine in the restoration of liberated communities and those affected by russian aggression. The oblast will help the village of Zarichne of Visokopillia community. During the temporary occupation, the village was in the line of fire. Before the full-scale invasion, it was home to over 600 residents. Now there are approximately 150. In order for people to return home, housing, destroyed infrastructure and social facilities must be rebuilt. The works will be allocated by both budget funding and by benefactors.

Volunteers of Vanchykovetsk community delivered humanitarian aid, namely, food, water, a generator, ect. to the soldiers who are on the front lines in Donetsk oblast.

The Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine reported that the construction of the factory for the production of Bayraktars in Ukraine has officially begun.

Rheinmetall will open a plant for the production of armored vehicles in Ukraine within the next 12 weeks. The largest German arms manufacturer plans to build and repair tanks in Ukraine, as well as train Ukrainians to service armored vehicles. The plant will be located in the western part of the country.

The National Police Agency of Japan reported that Ukrainian police officers began training in Japan to identify war dead. During the five-day program 10 Ukrainian police officers will be trained in the procedures of mass autopsies, sample collection and DNA analysis.

The Office of the President of Ukraine reported that Italy froze the assets of russian oligarchs in the amount of about EUR 2 billion. Bank accounts, real estate and luxury objects have been sanctioned.

Dmytro Kuleba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, had a phone conversation with Anthony Blinken, US Secretary of State, on the eve of the NATO summit.

Gitanas Nauseda, President of Lithuania, confirmed that countries of the Alliance reached an agreement and decided to cancel the requirement for Ukraine to implement the Membership Action Plan on its way to NATO.

Vasyl Bodnar, Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey, reported that Turkey did not put forward any conditions to Kyiv regarding the return of Mariupol defense commanders.

Gabrielus Landsbergis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, opened the first-ever summit of NAFO (the North Atlantic Fella Organization), an international community that fights against russian propaganda and disinformation. Money for tickets to this conference, as well as donations collected during its holding, will be donated to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Tina Karol handed over the diary of a 9-year-old boy from Mariupol to the Pope. Yehor kept a diary while he lived for a month in the basement of his house during the occupation of the city, where he described life in complete darkness. In the diary, the boy wrote about his wound on the back, the wounds of his mother and sister, and also drew pictures of people with weapons, dead bodies lying on the streets, destroyed houses, explosions and tanks.
