What happened in Ukraine today:

Here is operational information of the General Staff as of 6 pm:   

Russian troops launched an attack with five Iranian-made Shahed combat UAVs. Ukrainian air defense systems destroyed two kamikaze drones. The russian army launched 48 airstrikes and 54 MRLS attacks on the positions of Ukrainian military and civilian areas.

Ukraine is still under the threat of missile and aerial attacks. 

The russian army continues to concentrate its main efforts towards Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Mariinka. There were about 30 combat engagements.

Towards Volyn and Polissia, the operational situation did not change with no significant changes observed in russia’s formation of offensive groups. The identified units of the belarusian armed forces are fulfilling their tasks in the border areas with Ukraine.

Towards Siversk and Sloboda, the russian army maintains a military presence. They conducted airstrikes in the areas of Hrabove in Sumy oblast, Pletenivka in Kharkiv oblast, and in the city of Kharkiv. Russian troops shelled from mortar and artillery on more than 35 settlements, including Hirske and Tymonovychi in Chernihiv oblast, Seredyna-Buda and Stukalivka in Sumy oblast, and Kozacha Lopan, Zelene, and Hatysche in Kharkiv oblast.

Towards Kupiansk, the russian army continues to make attempts to advance in the area of Novoselivka in Luhansk oblast. Ukrainian troops are holding the defense steadfastly and repelling all russian attacks. Russian troops launched airstrikes in the areas of Ivanivka and Kyslivka in Kharkiv oblast. Petro-Ivanivka, Fiholivka, Monachynivka, Husynka, Novomlynsk, and Kyslivka in Kharkiv oblast were shelled with artillery and mortar by the russian army.

Towards Lyman, during their offensive operations, russian soldiers attempted to push Ukrainian troops from their positions in the area of Novoehorivka in Luhansk oblast, but did not succeed. They conducted an airstrike in the area of Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast. More than 10 settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk oblast, and Torhivka, Verkhniokamianske, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk oblast, were shelled from artillery  by the russian army.

Towards Bakhmut, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled russian attacks in the areas south of Berkhivka and Bohdanivka in Donetsk oblast. However, the russian army continues its offensive actions south and north of the city of Bakhmut, consolidating on the achieved positions. The russian army carried out airstrikes in the areas of Bohdanivka and Toretsk. Over 10 settlements, including Vasiukivka, Khromove, Oleksandro-Shultsyne, and Pivnichne in Donetsk oblast, were affected by russian artillery shelling.

Towards Avdiivka, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold back the advance of russian troops in the area of Avdiivka. At the same time, the russian army carried out airstrikes in the areas of Avdiivka and Nevelske. They conducted artillery shelling on more than 10 settlements, including Berdychivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, Nevelske, and Pervomaiske in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Mariinka, Ukrainian troops repelled all russian attacks in the area of the city of Marinka. The russian army conducted an airstrike in the area of Krasnohorivka in Donetsk oblast. They carried out shelling on more than 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Haniivka, Mariinka, and Pobeda in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Shakhtarsk, russian soldiers conducted airstrikes in the areas of Zolota Nyva and Makarivka in Donetsk oblast. They carried out shelling on more than 10 settlements, including Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, and Prechystivka in Donetsk oblast.

Towards Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, the russian army concentrates its main efforts on preventing the advancement of Ukrainian troops. Russian soldiers conducted airstrikes in the areas of Zmiivka and Antonivka in Kherson oblast. They carried out artillery shelling on more than 40 settlements, including Levadne, Olhivske, Malynivka, Huliaipole, and Bilohirya in Zaporizhzhia oblast; Tokarivka, Antonivka, Veletenske, and Kizomys in Kherson oblast, as well as the city of Kherson. At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operations towards Melitopol and Berdiansk, consolidating on the achieved positions, delivering effective artillery strikes on identified russian targets and conducting counter-battery measures.

The aviation of the Ukrainian army conducted 10 strikes on areas of concentration of russian personnel.

Units of rocket troops and artillery targeted 1 area of russian manpower buildup, armaments, and military equipment, 1 command post, 1 ammunition depot, 8 artillery systems in firing positions, 2 air defense assets, 1 radar station, and 3 russian electronic warfare stations.


According to the Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov Preparations for the construction of a 150-kilometer main water pipeline have begun. This project will be able to provide water to at least one million people from Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Kherson oblasts.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced that closed testing of a new statistics portal has been launched. Such an agency will help digitize the State Statistics Service so that it becomes a convenient information resource for both society and public servants.

Recent war events in the east of Ukraine

Kharkiv oblast

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that russian troops launched air strikes near Pletenivka, Ivanivka and Kyslivka. The enemy military also shelled at least nine settlements in the region with artillery and mortars.

Yurii Stalevych, a representative of the UN Refugee Agency informed that more than 1,300 apartments in Pivnichna Saltivka are being provided with free windows to replace those damaged by shelling.The work has already been completed in two buildings and 27 more are being replaced. This is a UN programme funded by international donors. After Pivnichna Saltivka, the donors are planning to carry out reconstruction work in the region, particularly in Izium region.

The press service of the regional military administration reported that a 54-year-old resident of Vovchansk was injured during russian shelling in the afternoon. The man was hospitalised in moderate condition.

Regional Prosecutor’s Office said that russian troops struck Novoukrainka village in Bohodukhiv region with a drone on the night of 5 July. A residential building was damaged.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the RMA infomred that during the day, the invaders launched a missile attack on Pervomaisk and Bilyi Kolodiaz. They shelled the border settlements of Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, Kupiansk and Izium regions with mortars and artillery. 

Liudmyla Vakulenko, head of Bilyi Kolodiaz settlement confirmed that last night at around 4 am, there was a shelling, damaging an apartment building and a car. There was no information about the casualties. At 4:32 am in Kozacha Lopan village, Kharkiv region, a building was burning as a result of shelling. A 48-year-old resident was hospitalised with burns, russian federation hit her house and garden at night and a fire broke out.

The morning before, in Monachynivka village, Kupiansk region, the invaders damaged buildings and outbuildings with shelling. There were no casualties.  

At 1:37 pm in Pervomaisk, russian troops launched an Iskander missile, injuring 43 people, including 12 children. 8 apartment buildings were damaged and cars were on fire. A total of 18 residential buildings were damaged.

As of the morning of 5 July, 7 people remain in hospitals in the region: 5 – in Pervomaisk, in moderate condition, mostly with shrapnel wounds. A woman was hospitalised in Kharkiv with an eye injury, her condition is moderate. A one-year-old child is also in a medical facility, in moderate condition.

Around 8 pm, the enemy conducted a powerful mortar attack on Udy village. They hit 19 times, significantly damaging two private buildings and destroying a car. There were no casualties.

At 11:30 pm in Bilyi Kolodiaz village, Chuhuiv region, the roof, walls and structural elements of the sugar factory were destroyed as a result of shelling. Preliminary, russians used S-300. Two men, aged 45 and 37, sustained explosive injuries and were hospitalised in moderate condition.

In Izium, a 69-year-old woman was injured as a result of the detonation of an explosive object in a forestry.

During the day, pyrotechnics inspected 8.8 hectares of the region, where 59 explosive ordnance items were found and defused. The work involved 32 pyrotechnic crews of the State Emergency Service (163 people and 64 pieces of equipment).

Donetsk oblast

Paratroopers shot down 16 russian air targets in Vuhledar frontline over the past month. According to the Air Assault Troops, russian planes and helicopters were fearlessly approaching, staying in the air and attacking the positions of the Defence Forces. Now, according to paratroopers, russian pilots are approaching the positions of the Armed Forces less frequently.

Russian army is redeploying heavy military equipment, including tanks, towards Bakhmut. According to Mykola Volokhov, commander of the Terra intelligence service, russian infantry is not able to handle the tasks.

Donetsk Regional Military Administration reported that the victims killed by russia in the Ria Pizza cafe in Kramatorsk were honoured with a prayer and a minute of silence and flowers were laid at the memorial made by the cafe’s staff. As a reminder, on 27 June, a Russian invaders’ missile cynically took lives: 13 people were killed and 60 injured.

In the middle of the night, russians launched a rocket attack on Druzhkivka, damaging a building.

Towards Volnovakha, in the morning, russians shelled Maksymivka with Grad MRLs, without any casualties.

Towards Donetsk, there was shelling of Krasnohorivka and Heorhiivka in Marinka community. Yesterday russians shelled Avdiivka twice with artillery. In Kurakhove community, 1 person was killed and 3 buildings damaged in Dalne. Hannivka and Veselyi Hai were under attack.

Towards Horlivka, a building in Kostiantynivka and a transformer in Pivnichne, Toretsk community, were damaged. Two buildings were damaged in Chasiv Yar community. Vasiukivka, Rozdolivka and Fedorivka of Soledar community were attacked.

Towards Lysychansk, 4 buildings were destroyed in Pereizne and 2 buildings damaged in Zvanivka. There were 15 attacks on Lyman community.

Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, said that russians injured two civilians in Chasiv Yar and Dalne.

Luhansk oblast

Towards Lyman, russian troops advanced and tried to push the Armed Forces of Ukraine out near Novoiehorivka, Novovodiane and Dibrova, but were unsuccessful.

The invaders are actively using aviation and artillery to support their attacks. This time, Bilohorivka and Nevske were shelled.

Ukrainian troops successfully repelled 7 enemy attacks in our frontline area. Specifically, the enemy tried to advance south of Novoselivske, Novovodiane, west of Dibrova and north-east of Serebrianka forestry. However, due to losses, he was forced to change his plans and return to his previous positions.

Luhansk Regional Military Administration said that russians have set up two children’s health camps as military hospitals and are checking the level of loyalty to russian authorities among state employees.

What is happening now in the north of Ukraine

Kyiv oblast

Kyiv oblast continues its preparations for the 2023-2024 heating season. The regional military administration noted that each district and territorial community of the oblast has developed its own comprehensive plans for the heating season taking into account the constant threat of destruction and damage of infrastructure facilities. This includes the creation of provisions for the necessary equipment and materials required for emergency response and recovery operations, and stockpiling of mobile equipment for rapid response.

Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office sent to court charges against a sergeant, instructor of the military unit of the 36th separate motorized rifle brigade of the russian armed forces. He is facing up to twelve years in prison for violating the laws and customs of war. The investigation has revealed that during the occupation of Bucha, the suspect opened fire with small arms at a civilian who was inspecting a damaged car to help the victims.

According to Ruslan Kravchenko, head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Pope Francis was presented with a Bucha coin depicting the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called via his Special Envoy. This is the place where 119 civilians killed by russian war criminals were buried during the occupation.

On June 6, the wreckage of British fighters from World War II found near the capital will be reviewed by the press. Kyiv City Military Administration invites media representatives.

Kyiv City State Administration reported that Since the beginning of 2023, more than 16 thousand people in Kyiv have received financial assistance from the city totaling UAH 73 million. The payments were intended for low-income people and Kyiv residents whose homes were damaged by russian shelling.

Tom Gareth, Secretary General of the intergovernmental coalition “Community of Democracies”, visited Kyiv on a study mission. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced the meeting with Tom Gareth at the city hall. They discussed the assistance that Ukraine and Kyiv require to counter russian aggression.

In Kyiv oblast, SES specialists took part in the presentation of patriotic games for children Border and Rescuer. These games were developed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine for children aged 6 and 4. Their purpose is to teach kids safety rules and give them an idea about the work of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Zhytomyr oblast

According to local authorities and local self-government bodies, there are 2,982 facilities of the protective structures fund in the oblast. These include 122 shelters, 925 fallout shelters, and 1,935 simple shelters.

Zhytomyr oblast will receive over UAH 445 million for reconstruction. In total, almost UAH 5.3 billion in subventions will be distributed among the communities of 10 oblasts. This decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers. The source of the subvention is the funds allocated by the European Investment Bank (EIB) under the joint program of Ukraine and the EIB.

The Zhytomyr Regional Philharmonic has completed its 85th concert season, the closing of which was dedicated to the defenders of Ukraine. More than 15 concerts for the military took place in different locations of the oblast. Performers of the Philharmonic regularly take part in charity concerts in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and actively raise money to purchase equipment and ammunition for the Ukrainian military, both in Ukraine and abroad.

Sumy oblast

On July 4, the russians opened fire 36 times at the border areas. In total, there were 268 explosions recorded in the oblast. According to Sumy Regional Military Administration, Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Hlukhiv, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske, Krasnopillia, Mykolayivka, Seredyno-Buda, and Yunakivka communities were shelled. The enemy attacked the communities with artillery, mortars, grenade launchers, and unguided aerial missiles launched from a helicopter. As a result of shelling, 5 private houses, a lyceum building, a farm, and an outbuilding were damaged.

At night and in the morning of July 5, the enemy opened fire 5 times at the border areas. In total, there were 27 explosions recorded. Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, and Miropillia communities were shelled.

In Sumy, rescuers have been carrying out emergency work for three days at the site of a drone attack conducted by the russian military on July 3. Over the past 24 hours, personnel were engaged in elevated work, dismantling and removal of emergency structures, evacuation of property and valuables of the residents. Also, repeated fire sources were eliminated.

Volodymyr Artyukh, head of Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported that recently, the number of unmanned aerial vehicles such as Shahid and Geran-2 used by the enemy has increased significantly. From May to July 3, 2023, Sumy oblast was attacked by 25 UAVs. As a result of these air strikes, 12 people were killed and 27 people (including 1 child) were injured. In addition, 23 buildings, 10 vehicles and other property were destroyed.

Sumy oblast continues to build up air defense capabilities. The creation of a modern regional air target detection system is in its final stages. According to Volodymyr Artyukh, the new system has been tested for three weeks, and the project is funded by local communities and entrepreneurs.

Sumy Regional Military Administration reported that 1,760 hectares of agricultural land have been cleared of mines in the oblast. This is 100% of the land planned for priority humanitarian demining in four territorial communities. Sunflower and corn were sown on these areas for the 2023 harvest.

Sumy oblast communities will receive 23 modern school buses. The Regional Military Administration informed that the transportation for general secondary education institutions will be purchased at the expense of the state and local budgets.

Chernihiv oblast

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that over the past 24 hours, the russians opened fire six times in Chernihiv oblast. In total, there were 77 shells fired from artillery and mortars. Novhorod-Siversk, Semenivka, and Snovsk communities were shelled.

The Department of Civil Defense and Defense Work reported that as a result of shelling by the russian military, 545 subscribers from five settlements of Novhorod-Siverskyi district remain without power supply.

According to the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, over UAH 18 billion of damage to the environment caused by russian armed aggression was recorded in Chernihiv oblast. In particular, the amount of damage caused to land and soil amounted to UAH 10.8 billion, losses from fugitive emissions of pollutants into the air – UAH 5.62 billion, and water pollution and contamination – UAH 1.58 billion.

In Chernihiv, the bridge over the Desna River to the capital, which was bombed by russian troops in March 2022, has been reopened. The State Agency for Reconstruction reported that large-scale work was carried out to eliminate the consequences of hostilities and to neutralize heavy munitions that were at the bottom of the river, left after heavy fighting that took place around Chernihiv in March 2022. Currently, 6 bridges have been overhauled in Chernihiv oblast, and construction work is underway on 6 more structures.

Recent events in the central regions of Ukraine

Dnipropetrovsk oblast

According to head of the regional council, Mykola Lukashuk, air defense forces shot down an enemy UAV at night. In the morning, a UAV dropped ammunition in the Marhanets community of the Nikopol region. In the morning, the Russian army attacked the Marhanets community of the Nikopol region with cannon artillery. 

Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Serhii Lysak reported that 40 combat drones were delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 700 dry meals were also delivered to the frontline.

Vinnytsia oblast

​​11 elderly people from the Kherson oblast were evacuated to the Vinnytsia Regional Nursing Home. They were forced to leave their homes due to the war and flooding.

9-year-old Mariia Korniichuk raised almost UAH 40,000 at a candle-making workshop. She donated the money to the Shahina volunteer centre in Vinnytsia.

Kirovohrad oblast

According to head of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration, Andrii Raikovych, a team of 20 medics has been formed in Kirovohrad oblast to help residents of Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.

Poltava oblast 

Poltava volunteers have purchased two Starlink satellite communication systems for the military. Volunteers from the Poltava Battalion of the People Who Care Foundation delivered the devices to soldiers in Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk oblasts.

Cherkasy oblast

Mayor of Cherkasy Anatolii Bondarenko said that a large-scale training exercise was held for special services to deal with the consequences of emergencies. The exercises were held during the day and at night within the Dnipro coastline, thus exercising the procedure in case of flooding, chemical and radiation hazards.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Cherkasy oblast reported that the sappers of Cherkasy oblast received new technical equipment. A mini-excavator was donated to them by representatives of the Rotary Club Steinfurt and Rotary Club Cherkasy.

Latest news from the front of the southern regions of Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia oblast

Yesterday, the enemy carried out 60 shelling attacks on 12 settlements in Zaporizhzhia oblast. The destruction of 17 civilian objects has been recorded. Orikhiv was hit by an airstrike, while Levadne, Novodarivka, and Malynivka were affected by 7 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launcher systems. Novotroitske, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Orikhiv, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Preobrazhenka, and Charivne experienced 52 artillery shelling attacks.

Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have requested additional access necessary to confirm the absence of mines or explosives at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Specifically, the IAEA representatives seek access to the roofs of reactor units No. 3 and No. 4, as well as certain areas of turbine compartments and parts of the cooling system of the plant. Previously, the Director-General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, stated that during the recent inspections at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, no mining activity was detected.

As of 01:30, July 5, units of the Eastern Air Command destroyed three russian UAVs “Shahed-136,” one each in the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv oblasts. This information was reported by the “East” Air Command.

Zaporizhzhia RMA informed about the consequences of the explosion at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station for Zaporizhzhia oblast. The water level in the lower reservoir is 12.82 meters, which is 1.68 meters below the normal level. Drinking water is being supplied without interruptions, and the quality of drinking water is within the regulatory limits.

Mykolaiv oblast

Yesterday two tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were destroyed  in Mykolaiv roblast by the air defense forces of the ‘South’ Air Command. This was reported by Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

Mykolaiv RMA has received material and technical assistance from the European Union and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine for the restoration of affected areas to preserve human lives and the natural ecosystems of the region. In particular, the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources has received the Vallon VMC1 metal detector, designed to detect low-metal content mines, homemade explosive devices, and unexploded ordnance for use on land, shallow waters, and wells.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Ukraine, Peter Van de Velde visited Mykolaiv. The Ambassador had a meeting with the Mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevych. They discussed the situation in the city during the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, the consequences of russia’s armed aggression, and how the city is coping with them. They also discussed the assistance that Belgium has provided and will continue to provide to the city.

Odesa oblast

Israeli experts are training psychologists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) in techniques of psychological assistance in crisis situations. Yesterday as part of the “Peer-to-Peer” program, a three-day course on “Fundamentals of Psychological Self-Help and Working with Personnel in Crisis Events” began, conducted by qualified trauma psychologists from the Israel Trauma Coalition (ITC). During the training, foreign experts will share their experience, enhance the professional abilities of Ukrainian psychologists and rescuers, and teach various skills that DSNS experts can use when needed and become instructors among the personnel.

According to Odesa RMA, the outpatient building of City Hospital No. 8 has been reopened in Odesa after extensive renovation. It is one of five Odesa facilities financed by the European Investment Bank. The medical facility has been completely renovated. High-quality repairs have been carried out, all engineering networks have been replaced, thermal modernization has been conducted, modern fire alarm systems, a new computer network, and a modern laboratory have been installed.

French partners have donated important equipment to Odesa’s medical professionals. Thanks to the Centre Hospitalier de Bayeux, services des urgences, and the Association Enfants de l’Ukraine, the center has acquired another automated blood culture system.

Kherson oblast

Yesterday, the enemy conducted 83 shelling attacks, launching 465 projectiles from mortars, artillery, “Grad” rocket systems, tanks, drones, and aviation. The enemy fired 27 shells at the city of Kherson. russian forces targeted residential areas, a school in the village of Veletenske, and a critical infrastructure facility in Kherson oblast. Due to russian aggression, two people were killed, and one person was injured.

The police discovered the body of a woman with visible signs of shrapnel wounds in Beryslav. The deceased’s body has been sent for examination to determine the exact cause of death. Overall, during the past day, the police opened 31 criminal cases related to war crimes committed in Kherson oblast.

According to the General Staff, an increase in the number of cases of acute intestinal infections, resembling cholera, has been observed in the temporarily occupied Skadovsk and Henichesk. The occupying authorities, despite denying the increase in the number of infections, have initiated a covert vaccination against cholera for representatives of the so-called “administrations” and their closest associates.

Residents of Kherson oblast affected by the “Great Flood” have started receiving financial assistance from the government. The residents of the region have submitted 2034 applications for assistance, and the funds have already been transferred to the cards of the first 532 individuals.

Yesterday, power engineers conducted emergency restoration works on the power lines supplying Topolyne, Novodmytrivka, Kochubeivka, Novovorontsovka, Stepove, Blahodativka, Novoraisk, Arkhangelske, Kherson, Zelenivka, Oleksandrivka, and Posad-Pokrovske. The power engineers restored the operation of another transformer substation in Kherson, connecting 307 consumers to the network. Gas distribution has been restored to up to 10 high-rise buildings in the area of Korabelna Square. Gas supply has also been resumed for 28 households in the village of Nova Zoria.

The Ukrainian-Israeli mission of volunteer doctors from “FRIDA” is returning to Kherson oblast. On July 8-9, the specialists will provide free medical consultations to patients in Dariivka, Kherson, and Muzikivka.

Volyn oblast

As part of the Creative Summer project, during the school summer vacations, Lutsk Art School will host art therapy classes for children of military personnel, children of IDPs, and children of Lutsk community from vulnerable categories of the population. The Creative summer project is implemented by the city council’s culture department, cultural institutions of the city territorial community in cooperation with the city council’s education department.

Zakarpattia oblast

The authorities of Mukachevo allocated UAH 1.5 million from the city budget for the construction of military towns. Since the war began, UAH 15 million have already been allocated for these needs.

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast

Rivne oblast

Ternopil oblast

Khmelnytskyi oblast

Serhii Kohut, the village head of Solobkovetsk community, reported that in the shelter for IDPs, which is located in the community, repair work has been completed. The necessary furniture and equipment are being brought to the place where up to 20 people from Luhansk oblast are planned to be accommodated. According to him, the second floor of the former hospital was given as a shelter for IDPs from Luhansk oblast.

Chernivtsi oblast

The Department of Social Protection of the Population of Chernivtsi oblast, the Mahalsk Children’s Boarding House and the World Orphans’ Fund in Ukraine signed a memorandum of cooperation. Its key task is to improve the quality of social services for children and to strengthen the work of the institution with additional staff. There are currently 53 children with disabilities living in Mahalsk Orphanage-Boarding Home, 42 of them are IDPs from Druzhkiv Orphanage-Boarding Home in Donetsk oblast, where active hostilities are taking place.

28 territorial communities of Bukovyna received 36 7–8 kW generators from the Red Cross of Ukraine.

Educational institutions of Chernivtsi received 20 6 kW generators thanks to the separate division of Opera S. Francesco Saverio Ukraine (Medici con l’Africa Cuamm).

A house for IDPs was opened at the communal institution Center for the Provision of Social Services to the Population in Kadubovets community. Currently, 18 people live here. In total, the facility can accommodate 50 people.
